for the fic writer asks: 37. ramble! you deserve it!
[37. talk about your current WIP]
anon!!! you're twisting my arm soooo bad!! ❤️ I'll talk about my current WIP if you insist... one that's been slowly cooking but I haven't actually talked about here is the royjamie amnesia fic. There are many really cool fics with this premise in the fandom already, but what EYE am interested with is not “surprise! you lost your memory and you're in a relationship now” but rather... “Surprise! You are a professional athlete and judge your self worth based on how well you can kick a ball. The you lost your memory and you're retired now and you don't remember the end of your career. Who even are you now?”
anyway. that's it. that's the WIP

37 Talk about your current wips.
ohhh thank you for this question! There're so many of them I'm gonna talk only about the ones I opened the file for at least in 2023.
the jaytim thing, which, is actually going to be a story about jason forgoing revenge and murder, and still tormenting tim.
jaytalia, which - let's just say, she didn't show up at that hotel room to congratulate jason on killing the joker. she has her own life! and she's in trouble. it's gonna be a road trip fic.
hey, judas - actually changed my mind on the ending! but i don't know which ending is better, if jason becomes what bruce saw in him, or if he raises above it. while first will be a moral failing, and a self-fulfilling prophecy, Bruce creating a monster when he thinks he's fighting them, but Jason personally will be free and happier. and the second will only mean bad things for him. for literally no fault of his own. and I'm like. very much on the fence.
fake marriage for real - this is a story with my favorite brujay plot bunny. Bruce suspects Jason is evil. Jason wants to con and possibly murder Bruce - or is he? This fic kinda reminds me both of A Renaissance Man (more in the drafts than published; which, hey, is silly, so I am gonna go and update it) and This Should (not) Be A Love Story (I don't get why people like it better than my other stuff that I personally like better, like the next on the list).
Myth You Have To Believe - you know, the fem!Jason carrying a possible demon child. Or possibly, her father's. Which! Is a horror in any case!!!

5.) Share one of your strengths.
My imagination. My brain is always going 'what if this' and 'what if that'. So I'm just constantly coming up with new ideas. Some of which I even manage to finish writing. :D
8.) Share a snippet from one of your favorite dialogue scenes you’ve written and explain why you’re proud of it.
"Mark Mardon attacked the station today.  He went after Joe and put Captain Singh in the hospital.  Joe's fine, but he's gone looking for Mardon," Barry said, leaning against Eddie's car.  "He's afraid that Mardon is going to go after one of us."
"Because he shot Clyde to protect me," Eddie said, sounding a bit distraught himself.
"To protect both of us," Barry corrected quietly.
~ From Hurricane
I'm a sucker for fix fics for the Out of Time/Rogue Time episodes and this one featured pre-Westhallen with Barry choosing to out himself as the Flash to Iris and Eddie - twice over thanks to time travel. This is from the first time he tells them right before Mark makes trouble with the hurricane and tsunami over the lake. (I think the trouble Mark causes on the lake in those episodes is what convinced me that Central City and Keystone had to be located on either side of a river feeding into one of the Great Lakes despite where it's traditionally located in the comics.)
I particularly like this fic in part because it was unexpected. I hadn't intended to write any fics from PoVs other than Cisco and Hartley in this series, but once I finished Hartley and Cisco's take on the two episodes I felt compelled to write an accompanying fic from Barry's PoV.
But I especially liked having the chance to explore Iris and Eddie's reactions to Barry voluntarily telling them he's the Flash. The first time around, Barry has the realization that not telling Iris the truth from the start was a mistake and so was continuing to hide it from Eddie too. And when he has to repeat the day, he chooses to tell them again, this time less impulsively... in part because the first time around went well.
Iris is upset over Barry hiding it from her so long but she loves Barry so all she really wants is to be there to support him. And Eddie knows he was basically a stranger to Barry in September, so that Barry values Eddie enough to trust him now?
I do see Barry's actions in canon as seriously damaging his friendship with Eddie after these two episodes - so I wanted to show Barry making the opposite decision here. Twice over. He chooses to strengthen his ties to both Iris and Eddie and it starts here with admitting he was there the night Clyde Mardon died.
9.) Which fic has been the hardest to write?
The Day After the World Ended (It Continued Spinning On It's Axis Just Fine)
I started writing this and then part way through both wrote myself into a corner I've been struggling to write my way out of and screwed up my knee tripping over a vacuum cleaner. I've tried finishing it, I've tried starting over with a rewrite and... it's just not working.
I'm determined to finish it eventually, but I just don't know when it'll happen.
12.) Is there an episode above all others that inspires you just a little bit more?
Since I'm such a Hartley fan, probably The Sound and The Fury/Crazy For You. Not a single episode, I know, but the two episodes carry Hartley's S1 plot line and I've definitely gotten a lot of mileage out of them when it comes to writing Hartley focused AUs.
I think the next runner up would be S2's Welcome to Earth-2/Escape From Earth-2 which have inspired things like my character study/AU fics for E2 Killer Frost and Reverb and the E2 Coldwestallen fic where E2 Barry is precious and Harry has guessed more about their love lives than he likes.

o3o tell me ur font secrets for number 1
Surely everyone and their mother knows I write in pale orange (FFD1B3) comic sans on a warm black (1A0006) background by now, right?
I mean, I mention it at least several times a year.
It's just so low-strain. it's a very soothingly round font, you know?
I used to write in Lexie Readable, but honestly, something about the capital R shape makes my eyes hurt a bit; ther eused to be an alternative version where the R wasn't a closed silhouette and that was much easier for me, but I can't find it anymore!!
Anyway, Comic Sans is so easy. It's the saltines of fonts.

37. Talk about your current wips.
Wich one of them? 😅
Alright, let's see. I'll talk to you about these two wips I'm dealing with. I had started writing them a while ago, but then for some reason, I lost myself.
The first one is set at the begging, more or less, of season 8. So, Dean went to Purgatory and all of that, and then there is the reader, who's trying to figure out what happened to Dean. I can't say much more without involving a lot of spoilers.
The second one is a smut one. It's something that I never wrote about before, which is no surprise. I'm pretty new to smut, so everything is a challenge for me. This one started in a way and then the story took control of everything and went in another direction. I'm stuck at the moment, so I'm hoping to be able to get past writer's block sometime soon.
Keep your fingers crossed for me. 🖤

oh man. okay in no order or preferance besides they came to me first:
vathara because embers is one of my favorite works of writing and an education on world building
owlpostagain because her teen wolf fanfic feels so cozy and also just hits all the characters exactly how i like to read them
metisket for using language very perfectly and precisely and writing to hurt, which is a compliment, and something i could do more of

Journal Entry #40: Trying to figure out my purpose.
I’ve been thinking about the Force lately. I wouldn’t say I’m super in touch with it, but I’ve come to understand that it’s always there. If I quiet my mind and sit in silence, I can sense it, like a humming in my chest. But…I don’t often make the time to meditate.
I elected not to become a Jedi, but I think I have a higher Force sensitivity than most. Especially since my uncle has taught me how to recognize the Force—not to wield its power, but to observe its energy passing through me.
I wonder what it means to be a Force-sensitive non-Jedi. To be a Force-sensitive working a 9-to-5 desk job in the most banal sector of corporate news media. Am I serving some higher purpose in the galaxy, with my restaurant reviews and community event coverage? Is it the Force’s will to assist me in meeting a Friday deadline, or not losing my mind when that one coworker is getting on my nerves?
I think of Luke, rescuing orphans and training them in the way of the Jedi, empowering them and sending them out to bring light into the darkness. I think of my old pal Fannie, one of Luke’s students, who went back to Ryloth to help free women from slavery. It’s no question that their lives’ work hold immense purpose.
My life runs on a never-ending loop. My alarm goes off in the morning, I get up and make caf, drag myself out of the apartment, go to the gym, go to work, come home, scrape some kind of dinner together, look at memes, go to bed, and then do it all over again. And it’s like…what am I even doing? Did my parents fight a war just so I could do…this?
Sometimes I think that, if I took some time to attune myself to the Force, everything would become clear, and even the most mundane of things would come alive with a new sense of meaning and purpose. But somehow, I’m afraid to reach out to the Force. I feel like the Force knows me…knows that I am a son of Skywalker and yet denied the path of the Jedi. And for what? To sit at a desk, churning out low-stakes articles for people to glance at for two seconds before they scroll to “breaking news.” Is there now a hole in the galaxy where I should have been?
Maybe I was supposed to become a Jedi after all, as much as that scares me. Maybe I’ve missed my destiny…
Or maybe there was no destiny written for me in the stars, and the pen lies squarely in my own hand…and I seem to have the worst case of writer’s block, ever.
My mom didn’t want me to move out and go to college. She was worried about Snoke preying on me again if I was separated from the family. If I was going anywhere else, she wanted me to be with Uncle Luke so he could watch over me. But Dad and Luke stood up for me, which surprised me, and reluctantly, Mom let me go. I think part of her was hoping I’d come back home after I finished my degree.
I wish I could prove to my mom that I’ve done it. That I’ve made my way, and that I’m happy with my life. But my life doesn’t feel quite right, somehow, and I’m not really sure what’s missing. I mean, things are okay. But I don’t think life, this grand adventure only experienced once, is supposed to be just okay.
I guess I need to spend some time thinking about this. But, like I said, my life is on a loop and now it’s time to make dinner. One plum-tomato and sardine sandwich and a blue milk protein shake, coming right up.

hey um. what's geostationary orbit and why is it impossible for TAG's TB5 to achieve?
Hello!! I'm assuming you're coming in from the stack of memes I made lol so welcome welcome, this is my well-known pet peeve and I will happily explain because it involves my favourite subject - physics!
"Impossible to achieve" isn't quite accurate - my argument is formed purely on the observational evidence of where it is, such that when the show makes references to TB5 being in geostationary orbit it doesn't make sense because it's simply.... not.
So strap in, I'll go through this as clearly as I can but feel free to ask follow up questions :D Or just generally hang out lol TAG is a fun time despite the handwave-y physics ahaha :D
1. What is geostationary orbit?
Geostationary orbit is the specific orbit where a satellite/space station/whatever moves with the exact same period as the Earth's rotation i.e. 24 hours AND is placed so that the object is directly over the equator, it will move in that orbit at the same rate as the location it is over, so that it will always be over that position at all times. This gives it the name "geostationary", implying that the Earth doesn't move relative to the orbiting object, or if you look down you'll always see the same place.
Both conditions must be met for geostationary orbit to occur; an orbit with a greater or lower period will fall out of step with the Earth fairly quickly, and if not on the equator, you'll get a related type of orbit known as a geosynchronous orbit which will move up and down relative to the equator rather than staying put.
Tumblr media
Furthermore, I won't take you through the calculation (1 | 2 | 3), but using Kepler's Third Law which is sufficiently accurate for this scenario, this orbit must always be ~36,000 km above the Earth, or the quoted 22,500 miles in the show. That is the main evidence in the show that implies that the writers intended for TB5 to be in geostationary orbit, like TOS was written to be.
However....
2. Why can't TB5 be in geostationary orbit?
It's not that it can't, it's that it isn't! There's two main reasons for this that I return to when grumbling about this to my friends (they are long-suffering on this point lol thank goodness they're reasonably good-humoured about it...)
Reason 1: The size of the Earth from TB5
This is the most damning evidence. Let's make some visual comparisons.
This is what the Earth looks like from the International Space Station which maintains an orbit about 400 km above the surface of the Earth (in a region known as Low Earth Orbit).
Tumblr media
It's a little more complicated to show what Earth looks like from geostationary orbit as many satellites in this region are communication relays or broadcasting satellites (very appropriate for TB5 it must be said!!) But that being said, this is a full disk image of Earth from Japan's Himawari 5, a weather satellite in geostationary orbit.
Tumblr media
Now take a look at the animation in TAG and decide for yourself what was being used as inspiration!
Tumblr media
But I'm a physics nerd, so I won't take blind faith in some pictures! No, no - if there's a specific height that an orbit must maintain in order to remain in this orbit and the size of the Earth doesn't change, then it should follow that the Earth must be some kind of stable "apparent" size that we can figure out. Think about a freestanding house from 40 m away. It doesn't matter in which direction the 40m is, the house takes up the same space in our vision. The same follows here.
Once again, I'll gloss over the calculations ( 1 | 2 | 3) and simply state that from geostationary orbit, the Earth should take up no more than about 20° of our field of vision. In comparison the visual angle of the Moon is about 0.5° so it's still going to look really big!! But not as big as you'd see from the ISS :P If you make both hands into fists, place them next to each other and hold them at arms length from your body, that would be the approximately the width of the Earth from geostationary orbit.
So TB5?
Tumblr media
....might be a wee bit closer than that 😂
Reason 2: The locations on Earth
This one's a little looser, but it illustrates my second point - in order to be geostationary, TB5 needs to..... stay over one location? Like okay sure it has rockets and engines so that it's able to move around, we've seen them plenty of times. But that doesn't change that fact that even when these are not in use, TB5 is never in one place.
Here's some examples…
Tumblr media
The Strait of Gibraltar (Spain and Morocco) | 1x07 (Runaway)
Tumblr media
Looks like Japan in the background to me | 1x07 (Runaway)
Tumblr media
Ireland and Great Britain | 1x08: EOS
Tumblr media
Cheating a tad, but he's only just launched so it's reasonable to assume that here TB5 is over SE Asia | 2x02 (Ghost Ship)
None of these are examples where John's manoeuvred TB5 into position like he does in Skyhook (1x11) and Impact (2x09) so it's reasonable to assume that TB5 is following its assigned orbit... and its not geostationary!
Moral of the story: TB5 could be in geostationary orbit, there's nothing stopping it! But uh... it's not. Thanks for listening ;D
All images stolen either from the thunderbirds wiki, or I've attached a click through link to their origin :)

40 Questions — Meme for Fic Writers
13. What’s the best writing advice you’ve ever come across?
Write confidently, because if you don't believe what you're writing others won't either.
Don't be so hard on yourself if a story takes time. Quality over Quantity.
Remember that your writing will be for someone. Someone will love it and it will mean a lot to them. (Honestly, this one is hard to remember for myself sometimes. Moreso, given the current climate of fandom and the themes I write.)
37. Talk about your current wips.
Currently, the one I'm mainly focused on is my 'You Will Never Walk Alone' fic in which Terzo is Lucifer incarnate. I delve into my own take on some of the lore, Copia’s backstory, and how Terzo being Lucifer impacts a lot of things that took place.
We follow from Copia’s POV as the story progresses. The themes it looks at are that of human nature, as well as love, loss, grief and dealing with/healing from one’s own mental health issues. It’s all tied up alongside the relationship Copia builds with the Devil, and how his God helps him realise that he deserves so much more.
It will eventually lead to them getting together, but it’s not been easy. All I can really say without spoiling much is that so far it’s 10+ chapters and it will be explicit.
The others I have are as follows:
1. It’s A Sin: Vampire Terzo and Copia, pure indulgence. A new ex-priest arrives at the Ministry only to discover the people he serves are actually ‘monsters’.
Terzo takes this shine to this ex-priest who’s struggling with his faith and in understanding himself. Things develop from there. (I’ve only written 1 chapter a few months back, but I’ve had the idea long before that.)
2. Omnia Vincit Amor: The first ever Ghost fic I started writing with my OC, and her poly relationship with both Copia and Terzo (unrelated as usual in my verses).
The premise was that Terzo knew he was going to die and basically put in a failsafe (a promise) for when that happened. Both he and my OC end up being murdered because Imperator knows something is up, she just doesn’t know what. So the safest option? Kill Terzo’s lover as well to clean up loose ends.
It has a lot of body horror imagery and how people will go to great lengths to keep power. Themes of love, death and how you can’t fuck dark forces because they WILL come back to bite you. (If I remember I wrote around 6+ chapters, but I wanted to rework the story a lot more so I took it down from ao3.)

HELLO :D AM HERE TO BOTHER YOU WITH QUESTIONS ‼️
(7 or 8, 14, 15, 28)
i hope you’re doing well!! 🥹🫶🏼
Well hello you! I'm doing well enough for a long weekend that's flown by far too fast lol ❤️
I just answered 8, so while I'm sure I could come up with another one, let's go with...
7. Share a snippet from one of your favorite pieces of prose you’ve written and explain why you’re proud of it.
Alex's sexuality musings from Puck It, aka the hockey boyfriend Henry fic:
Alex is aware that he might be bisexual in the same way he’s aware that he might be allergic to cats; there have been a few brief interactions to make him think it’s probably true, but so far it hasn’t had any impact on his life, so he hasn’t really had a reason to look into it and find out for sure. Now, faced with Henry’s clavicle and the sudden, vivid mental image of sinking his teeth into it, he’s not sure how theoretical it is anymore.
I'm just a slut for a good analogy and when I feel like I've nailed one I'm, like, cheering internally lol.
14. What’s the worst writing advice you’ve ever come across?
I'll preface this by saying I definitely don't think it's the worst writing advice for everyone; in fact for some people it's probably exceptionally good writing advice. But no advice is one size fits all, and for me, the ongoing and at times very firm narrative that of COURSE your first draft will be complete dogshit and if you're not embarrassed to show it to people you don't have a good sense of your own work and blah blah blah REALLY fucked me up as a writer for a long time. Because that is just... not my experience. I write clean copy and do minimal editing because 90% of the time my first draft is the story I want to tell! And I got very much in my head about that particular piece of advice and how it must mean that I was a really shitty writer or just had no sense of good writing, if I was reading my first draft and thought it was good, you know? Turns out we all create differently and, spoiler alert, not all advice is helpful for all people. It took me a while to get there, though.
15. If you could choose one of your fics to be filmed, which would you choose?
I mean. It's gotta be the actor AU, right??? It HAS to be.
28. Share three of your favorite fic writers and why you like them so much.
Ugh, only three? This is cruel. This is, like, a fraction of a very long list.
Right.
@clottedcreamfudge - Has this particular flavour of "Alex is just ferally horny for Henry immediately' that I both adore and yearn to aspire to. Her college AUs are just so nice to lose myself in when I want to escape the bullshit in my own head for a little bit
@myheartalivewrites - Writes the richest, most gorgeous, completely fleshed out relationships between Alex and Henry, whether canon/post-canon or AU. Their love for each other just rings so true and I want to roll around in it.
@sparklepocalypse - Has this way of getting me a thousand percent on board with even the most off the wall pitches. Time-travelling threesome? Fucking sure. Henry as a cecaelia? Let's fucking go. Alex as a god? Nothing's ever made more sense, actually. One of those authors that could write literally anything and I'll be like "I don't know what I'm about to witness but I know I'll fucking love it".

For the writer ask meme: 3, 7, 14, 16, 20, 27, 34, 35, 40, 44, 61, 74 (❛ں❛ )✧
From the 'Get to know your fic writer!' ask game.
3) Describe the creative process of writing a chapter/fic
Typically, I'll start with the overall structure. Where the section breaks go, short summaries (maybe just a couple of phrases) of the contents of each section, placing any scenes I've already started in their proper context, and establishing where I'll swap to a different character, if I'm doing that. Then I'll most likely start at the top and write it through to the end. I can write chapters out of order but find it easiest to take each individual chapter in narrative order. Sometimes I'll have pieces I'm joining up, though, so it's not always a strictly linear process.
And then when I'm done, I'll go over it again and again until I'm happy, cutting the text down to what is absolutely necessary to get my point across: I overwrite a lot on first draft, so there'll always be pruning to do!
7) How do you choose which POV to write from?
Switching character point of view is usually a structural conceit: I'll use it to guide the reader through the different angles of a situation, slowly filling in their understanding of what is going on. It's a great method for creating cliffhangers and sudden twists without being cheap (there will always be an explanation, but POV management allows me to keep it in reserve until the correct moment).
But sometimes there are parts of the story or emotional beats that only make sense from a particular character's perspective. Which is not always the one who is experiencing the beat directly, mind you. When I decided to have show what the new Ryusei-Go was capable of in Fata Morgana, it was because I thought that would be most impactful from an outside POV. Yeah, that's a really intense moment for the pilots, but by showing it at a remove, I was able to focus on how preternaturally effective the combination of developed skill and fine-tuned machine really was -- underscoring the thread throughout Wishing on Space Hardware of how damn scary Tekkadan's legacy is for everyone outside their bubble.
14) how do you write emotional scenes? Do you ever feel what the characters feel? Do you draw from personal experiences?
I don't exactly feel what the characters feel. They're not really feeling anything, they're words on a page. What I'm generally doing instead is looking for the right words and tempo to hit the pitch of an emotion. It's almost like music, I think, in that emotions have a rhythm to them that alters the character voice, and it's a question of tuning the scene until it conveys the right quality. Even something as simple as how the sentences are laid out can have an impact on that.
So for me, it's an exercise in finding the best combination of tricks and description to hit the note I want to convey. And yeah, a part of that is always going to be drawing on my own experiences and trying to capture what those feelings were like. But that's not always as helpful as you'd think. I happen to know exactly what cold fury feels like, for example, but I'm not sure I could describe it beyond simply saying 'cold fury'. That being said, sometimes that's OK. We have these common turns of phrase for a reason, and coupled to the right cues, they can be very powerful.
16) How many fic ideas are you nurturing right now? Share one of them?
Lots of ideas, always, but functionally I am currently working on two things. One is just -- all the Yamagi/Shino/+ smut I can think of and think is worth actually attempting to write. Currently a prospective six chapters of various lengths, a variety of situations and additional factors. It'll hopefully be a good time!
The second is, surprisingly, not the mooted Wishing on Space Hardware future-fic. That's still percolating as I try to draw together my ideas on it into something concrete. No, I got hit by the urge to invent some entirely new OCs and have them do a heist story.
The basic concept is a twin brother and sister who join a military company some years before everything kicks off with Tekkadan. They have the Alaya-Vijnana surgery and while it works for the sister, the brother is left paralysed from the waist down ala Bilth. Their dynamic follows from this with them swearing to do absolutely everything to stay together (this group isn't the CGS and doesn't throw out the 'failures' but they are not expected to survive long), with the brother, Kais, eventually becoming a strategist while the sister, Inas, being the obligatory a mobile suit pilot. Fast-forward to three or four years after Tekkadan's final stand and they're planning to rob Gjallarhorn on the eve of Martian independence.
I think it'll fun to explore* and ease me back into writing for characters the reader won't automatically know everything about, after several years of just doing fanfic.
*Bear in mind that 'fun' here involves me looking up the Bolivian Army Ending trope, so pitch your expectations accordingly.
20) Have you noticed any patterns in your fics? Words/expressions that appear a lot, themes, common settings, etc?
I'm quite fond of a smile that isn't a smile, or isn't quite a smile. I have a thing for performative characters, and the act of shaping oneself to a particular end in general, which leads to toying with what an expression mechanically is and what it is actually conveying. Smiles are just the lowest-hanging branch there, since they are very easy to turn unsettling.
Themes . . . well, I'm not not making a habit of poking at the wider political implications of settings, either to jab at what they're saying or just to find the potential plot-hooks that fall out of events, that the original piece of media didn't find time to explore. It wouldn't be accurate to say I set out to produce political fics: I like the aesthetic of political manoeuvring more than I care to write tracts. But I do enjoy thinking through the hows and whys of a fictional society, and contrasting different levels within it.
And if it can be called a common setting, then I will be found writing exclusively in the one from canon. I just don't really do AUs, certainly not the kind that transpose characters somewhere vastly different. If I like something, I will generally like it on its own terms. I think it's an admirable skill to be able to pull off setting or genre transposition in a way that makes sense, but I'm not interested in trying it myself.
27) What is your most and least favorite part of writing?
I'm not sure how to answer that.
For least, it's less any one task and more reaching the point of having done it so often that I get fed up with it. I will edit until I'm sick of the sight of my own words, or wear myself out of writing for spells at a time. But neither of them are tasks I find onerous in their own right.
For most . . . I think I just like being in the flow of writing, whatever particular task I'm working on at the time.
34) Five years from now, where do you see yourself as a writer?
Not a damn clue. Better than I am now, hopefully. That's all I can wish for.
35) What is one essential thing to remember when writing a villain?
That they're people too.
Proper villains, those who deserve the title and aren't merely antagonistic forces, should act with the same level of interiority and depth as protagonists. They should have desires and motivations, aims they want to achieve and personalities that shape their actions.
They can absolutely be shallow, vain and cruel, but those are all things real people can be and it's always worth asking, as you would of any other character, 'how did they get to be this way?'
Nobody wakes up one day deciding to be evil. There's always a yesterday that made it seem like the best option.
40) If someone were to make fanart of your work, what fic or scene would you hope to see?
Aye aye. Coming from the person who's done the most (i.e. any) art influenced by my writing, I can't help feel this is a loaded question! :)
Honestly, there's a whole bunch of characters I'd love to be able to draw myself, or failing that, get commissioned one day. Almiria's gang in particular -- I know Almiria's costume looks like a mix of McGillis-as-general and Relena from Gundam Wing in her Sanc Kingdom outfit, and that Almiria grown-up takes after Gaelio, but it'd be nice to be able to render that in something like IBO's actual style. Similarly with things like post-everything Shino (purple jacket and all), Yamagi in the pilot-suit with short hair, or the Goibniu pilots. I think I just want to be able to draw anime stuff at all, honestly!
Scenes though . . . hmm. For the purposes of structuring my thoughts, I'm going to take liberties and go through all of WoSH in order to see if I can work out which scenes I'd like to see the most.
A Handful of Rusted Petals: Almiria and Bael.
The Grandmaster: This doesn't actually have any non-canon scenes per se, but I'd be interested in what someone might draw based off it, as a concept.
To Catch a Falling Star: Any (all?) of the reunion scenes.
Fragments of You/Pieces of Me: The end scene in bed, where Shino is asking if Yamagi just made a dick joke (he 100% did).
Let Sleeping Angels Lie: Eugene walking in on Shino while Shino is topless and showing Sri his arm.
Between Family: Again, the final scene, mostly for grumpy!Yamagi puncturing the heartfelt conversation.
The Ares Affair: The moment Ride shows up.
The Haunting of Takaki Uno: Takaki confronting Elion, specifically when he asks directly about Galan Mossa.
Frozen Sunlight: The Turbines' games-night.
Of Obsessions and Erotemes: Iverson in cold storage, looking at the bodies.
Revolution for Beginners and Polyamory for Dumbasses: The training scene with Trow, Ride and Hirume. (There's obviously a bunch of stuff in this, but I think that's the one I'd enjoy seeing.)
Under a Crescent Moon: Just anything with Ordsley struggling with everything.
Eugene Sevenstark and the Hesperus Treasure: Oh, the moment everyone has to run away from an avalanche of Haros, absolutely.
Hope Against Hope: The scene with the mirror, I think.
Love, Death and Cannoli: Probably Shino being dumbstruck by Yamagi in the pilot-suit (though I am very fond of Shino getting bullied by the Turbine kids, too).
Fata Morgana: Argi dealing with a drunk Kim.
We Three Kings: Oooo. I can't choose for this one. At a certain point, this is all a series of really big important moments. Probably the fight in the office or the confrontation in the council chamber, if we have to narrow it down, though there's also Lin and Almiria.
History of a Catastrophe: Embi and Asher in the garden, definitely.
Ragnarök in G Minor: Oh, you, specifically, will absolutely know it when we get there. (But also this one is chock full of climactic confrontations so there's dozens I'd love to see in image form!)
Day in the Light: Not posted it yet, but the penultimate scene of WoSH is a very fun one that I'd love to see drawn.
44) What mistakes do you keep making no matter how many times your beta corrects you?
Most often cludging a sentence in the edit. I have a bad habit of missing words, or otherwise reading what I think is one the page, so it's nice to have someone to catch those!
61) Why do you continue writing fics?
You can . . . stop writing them?
74) You’ve posted a fic anonymously. How would someone be able to guess that you’d written it?
I think it'd basically include all the answers to question 20. Bonus points for extended exposition scenes that double as character interactions, doppelgangers of some description, and being a post-canon continuation.

8. Share a snippet from one of your favorite dialogue scenes you've written and explain why you're proud of it.
Oh I'm really really proud of a scene in Math Nerd where Neil and Andrew are having a game of truth up on the roof.
"Ask." Andrew says.
"Are you happy?" he asks. Is he...happy? "That's your question?" Andrew asks despite himself. "It is." Neil says not looking out at him, "You can think about it. I don't need the answer right away I guess." Neil says. Is he happy? He thinks about his life, more specifically his life after Alex. He still wants to find his friend, wants to thank you and smack him over the head for the risk he took. He thinks about having a brother, having a cousin, and even his friendships with Renee and Kevin. "Why do you want to know?" Andrew asks. "It's still my turn Andrew." Neil reminds. Is he happy? "I wouldn't call it happy." He says because Andrew doesn't do that. "What are you then?" Neil asks. "Why do you want to know?" Andrew returns. "I care about you, I'd like for you to at least be...content with your life." Neil answers. Content feels safer, feels less like an admission. "I'm content." Andrew gives back and Neil smiles still not looking at Andrew at all. "That's good. I'm glad." Neil pushes himself away from the ledge, "See you tomorrow Andrew." he says leaving Andrew alone on the roof.
I just like the whole conversation though this bit had me in tears when I was writing it. The whole conversation has some jokes ("He went somewhere I couldn't follow." "Arizona?") but I think it really shows how lonely Neil has been made by his time travel. He's so desperate for there to be something good that came out of it. If that good thing is that Andrew is happy or at least content? Maybe it's okay.
9. Which fic has been the hardest to write?
I mean like emotionally? "I'll Take Care Of You" devastated me for a while.
Writing as in like it fought me the whole damn way there are a lot of parts of Fluent Freshman that have fought me. I always know the joke I wanna tell by the end of a part but so help me building up to it or transitioning to the next one is always super duper hard for me.
10. Which fic has been the easiest to write?
Man I banged out "Sometimes Life is Accepting That Things Get Hard" in like an evening. The imagery that Lex put on twitter was just SO DANG GOOD that it shot out of me.
20. Describe your perfect writing conditions. (Answered before)
It is immediately before an arbitrary deadline I have set for myself that no one else is focused on. I have hold music playing. I have a cherry coke within easy reaching distance. I have muted discord because i am categorically bad at not chatting.

1. Describe your comfort zone—a typical you-fic.
Thank you for this question! Did make me think....
In my typical fic, either Joker dies, or Jason. Just kidding - although it does take up a chunk of my stories.
No, in a typical me fic there's low-key angst and if there's humor, it's going to be of "haha oof" variety. Common themes are family, trauma, trauma inflicted by family; length 1-2K. Overused tropes galore: time travel, amnesia. Open ending or a happy end.

4.) How many fic ideas are you nurturing right now? Care to share one of them?
Too many to count and there's always something new showing up when I least expect it. Both a curse and blessing to be a fic writer with an overactive imagination.
So one that has been sitting in the back of my mind for a while is the Code Realize fusion fic where Eddie has a toxic touch. I haven't really written anything out yet, but I've got a general idea of how the first part of the story would go.
It would start with the local military of Central City, led by General Eiling, converging on a nearby abandoned town. Specifically a house where the town's sole inhabitant lives. Eddie Thawne. Eddie knows he's not supposed to go anywhere - the house he lives in is the only one where he can touch anything without his melting away to nothing. He never grows hungry and his boredom is relieved by the small library of books within, but Eddie longs for companionship.
Companionship his father's letter forbids him. Because, according to Eobard Thawne, Eddie is a monster.
But Eiling's arrival changes things. The General refuses to leave without Eddie and threatens to destroy the house itself if that's what it takes to force Eddie to go with him. Eddie can't risk his one sanctuary being destroyed and, reluctantly, agrees. But Eiling destroys the house anyway. 'Cause he's a jerk.
Dismayed because now the only things he can touch are the ones Eiling stole from the house before setting it on fire, Eddie thinks his only choice now is to go with Eiling; he can never escape to go home now, like he'd been hoping. But at the outskirts of town, a new option appears - a phantom thief calling himself the Flash appears, taunting Eiling and running off with Eddie in his arms.
The Flash introduces himself once they're safely away. His real name is Barry Allen and he needs Eddie's help, if Eddie's willing to give it. He's looking for Eobard Thawne, Eddie's father... because he has reason to believe Eobard Thawne is planning a terrorist attack on Central City. Eddie wants to find his father too. To find out whether he's truly planning something so terrible... but also to find out why he's a 'monster' and what it has to do with the shining stone he has in place of his heart.
That's when Cisco would show up with his steampunk car, introduced as the first of Barry's allies.
Since the game is heavy on the steampunk, I'd want to keep that as the setting for the series. And the eventual main ship would be Westhallen, though I'm still debating how to introduce Iris. I think it'd be fun to have her be the detective nemesis of Barry's, but that's a bit fuzzy right now and I want to be sure of what Iris' part in the series is before I start writing... for all that she won't show up for a while regardless.
7.) Share a snippet from one of your favorite pieces of prose you’ve written and explain why you’re proud of it.
“Oh, honey,” Lisa patted his hand, “you look like you’re gonna cry. I’m a good listener if you need someone to talk to about what’s going on?”
She was the first person to just… touch him like it was no big deal since the lightning struck. Iris always hesitated, always had pity in her eyes. Joe looked guilty, as though he felt he should have protected Barry better. (And he should have; he’d laughed off Barry’s concerns about that damn skylight like everyone else did and now look at him. Barry was never going to be the same again. Scars like these don’t go away over time.) But Lisa didn’t flinch at the sight when he opened the door. Didn’t look him over with disgust. Didn’t make him feel like a freak just for surviving something that left its mark on his skin.
Barry started crying.
~ From Chrysalis
So in this fic series it was important to me that Barry had scars left from the lightning strike. I'd been rewatching some of S3 at the time and I was reminded of how Savitar's scars on the show were part of what marked him as the evil Barry - just some more of the show's casual ableism really. I wanted to write something where Barry had those scars - or similar ones, anyway - and it didn't make him the bad guy.
Once I had that premise, I had to consider what everyone's reactions would be. And that Barry would be pushing away Iris and Joe as much because of their actual reactions to him as well as what Barry was imagining their reactions to him were. Everything always seems worse when your stuck inside your own head, after all, and Barry is very much that here, struggling with the way strangers look at him now and the way he feels about himself when he looks in the mirror.
And then finally I arrived at this scene where Lisa shows up. She's been a bit worried about her shut in neighbor and her concern for him isn't something he can write off as obligation or morbid curiosity. She's just kind when he needs it most. And it was a turning point in accepting himself that Barry needed.
I was really proud of how this fic turned out and that there wound up being more story to tell afterwards. But I think this first one is still my favorite, thanks to the way Lisa and Barry's friendship develops from here.

4. what’s a word that makes you go absolutely feral?
Brunette (masculine).
I'm perfectly at peace reading about bluenettes and pinkettes and noirettes and whatever other descriptors people come up with for hair colors, it's all in good fun.
But brunette is a gendered term and it makes me froth at the fucking mouth. I can even cope with blonde (masculine) although it's wrong. But oh my god, even in English the -ette suffix is feminizing!!!!!!! What is the excuse here!!!!!
25. what is a weird, hyper-specific detail you know about one of your characters that is completely irrelevant to the story?
I have never and will never need to know the daemons and classpects of all of my OCs, but damned if I can resist the compulsion anyway.
34. thoughts on the oxford comma, go:
The oxford comma is good, necessary, and integral to ensuring clarity of communication. If anything, however, it does not go far enough. Put more commas in stuff, just, like, slam them in there. Commas, commas, everywhere, not a full-stop to think.

23. If you were to revise one of your older fics from start to finish, which would it be and why?
I would do that with many of my fics for different reasons, but mostly because I'm that insecure. If I have to choose then I would go with one of the first fics I wrote and managed to finish. It wasn't about Supernatural, but about Bones. I don't know if you ever heard about that show. Anyway, I would love to revise that one because I was still very green in my writing back then. I think I'm a different writer and person right now, so yeah I would probably revise that one. I would do that because at that time I was kinda influenced by what people thought about the story and wanted to please everyone. So, yeah, I would go with that one and maybe I will, who knows.
Thank you so much for asking. 🖤
