Love
To love or not to love
That’s another rhetorical question
Of life’s mysterious needs drive
People insane when having a conversation.

If my trust
Is what you hope in gaining

i wrote a 500 word dynamic poem for neo-twiny jam :-)
i rewrote this in a few different ways with a handful of different drafts before settling on just doing a poem; this originally came from a full branching narrative i've had stewing for a while, and i might come back to it one day. but for now i enjoyed channeling that into this poem, which has also been very influenced by the fact that i've been writing hungry vampires for almost 2 months now.... it was also my first time messing with audio in twine, which ended up being way easier than i expected (i'm sure it helped that i only used one audio sample tho)
faith does contain sexual content, and while not super explicit, it is the main theme of the poem.
anyways hope you enjoy and check out the other entries here!

Retirement
Someday I will find my place to rest
My body begging not to roam
In a garden weeping wisteria
I build my hallowed home
Hope has always seemed unkind
With the type of life I've lead
Yet she's always stayed beside me
A skin I cannot shed
I close my eyes and see that room
My father smiles in the sun
I tell him he's a basking cat
He tells me not to run
I rely on my best friend's laughter
(I have from the very start)
So content to seek no lover
As I have no lovers heart
It takes a week to remember to sleep
And many more to dream
Though stillness never suited me
There's joy in the reprieve

the king claims still to know me
but he calls me by your name
and by my blade that slayed him
swore he loved you all the same.
and never did we meet
yet in your skin I'll masquerade
are you still angry with our father
for the robbing of your grave?

These mountains were named after you
Touching your heart like climbing peaks,
Destined to reach the perfect view
These mountains were named after you.
Your eyes from up here; gorgeous blue
Hiking through galaxies - legs weak,
These mountains were named after you
Touching your heart like climbing peaks.

Hello, im wehaveagathering from my main blog, im kind of obsessed with your hockey poetry edits and I think your blog is great! I guess I kind of have a dumb question, where do you find the images you use for your edits? Did you say Getty in your tags?? I’ve gotten into making icons recently (and i have ideas for poetry edits hrrrghhh) but it’s hard to find high res images. Thanks for your time and I hope you have a nice day :)
first of all thank you so much 🥹 and second that’s absolutely not a dumb question!! i do pull a lot of images from getty and i’ll also download pictures from sports articles (i got a lot of the hugheses pictures from online access articles, for example), or sometimes from instagram/facebook/twitter if an account is public. freely admitting that i am not technologically advanced? inclined? in the slightest here, but the image editing software that you use and how you import/export photos with it makes a difference in the quality of them as well!
if you haven’t seen them yet, i would also recommend checking out @simmyfrobby @national-hockey-lesbian @hauntedppgpaints @tapedsleeves @starscelly and @captainbradmarchand’s blogs just off the top of my head!!! they might know more places to get high res images and also i love their work 💕🫶

Treatment
“Take this pill,” They say.
Take this pill and it should work
In a month,
Three months,
Six.
Take this pill,
And it will make you tired.
They all make you tired,
Because they act on the brain,
You see.
Take this pill,
“We’re sorry the others didn’t work.”
We will smile
Sympathetically.
We do care.
Take this
Pill.
It will make you dizzy.
Take this
Injection.
Since it is treatment resistant
Now.
It will hurt,
It will make you itch.
You can still keep taking the old ones,
In case they end up working
Too.
Take this pill,
It should work in one month,
Three months,
Six.
No, we don’t know
Why this is happening.
We don’t know
How to fix it.
Your blood screening was
Normal.
Your CT scan was
Normal.
Take this pill.

worked on one of the poems i'd started while high the other night and here's the result
Such lust
Is as red as your blood
Contrasting like ichor
Against the white of my sternum
Flooding my pallor
As it pours out from your throat
And slides onto mine
Spilling like wine served by a quivering hand
The anticipation causing it to tremble
And miss the eager mouth

Fatherhood - SPN Poem
SPN poetry month - day 16 - Parenthood II Fatherhood
So! first original post ever and it's for @spnpoetryrenaissance poetry month! (for my sake let's ignore that April ends tomorrow lol).
To give a bit of context: this is told from Dean's perspective and it's supposed to be about how he felt inadequate to be considered any sort of parental figure (yet ended up as one for many kids anyway) and the impact his own father had in him through the years.
It also explores a bit his complex relationship with Jack and the parallelisms between Dean's and John's behaviors when it comes to dealing with grief. (And yes, the end is a fix-it where he finds Cas and they live a happily ever after, as they should).
Is this accurate? probably not, but I had fun writing it!
And that's about it, I guess, since I don't want to start rambling about Dean and how delightful his character is and how incredibly complex his relationships with other characters are and the impact they have on his general existence,,,
If you read this till here, thank you! And I hope you liked it <3
