SPOILERS FOR THIRD LIFE ESPECIALLY GRIAN'S POV.

I absolutely love any MCYT wiki's whenever I need a lore refresher or their skins for reference for characters and especially when the wiki details the events of their pov- like I can read:

"Grian accidentally blew up Scar while trying to do a prank, and made a deal to follow Scar's orders until he lost his first life. The pair set up shop in the server's desert, and attempted to start monopolies on sand and dark oak wood, with varying levels of success. When Scar accidentally fell into a ravine and became a Red Name, Grian deemed the contract still in effect and continued to serve under Scar. He carried out most of Scar's murder schemes, although initially refusing to kill anyone outright in Scar's name. When Ren, in retaliation to Grian and Scar's reign of chaos, voluntarily became a Red Name and started the Red Winter War, Grian stayed on Scar's side during the conflict, even after Grian lost his first life and the contract ended. Once the war, and some small skirmishes after, had ended, Grian and Scar were the only two people left in the server. They (reluctantly, under commands from the spectators) fought to the death on top of Monopoly Mountain. Grian emerged victorious, winning the season, then committed suicide by throwing himself off of Monopoly Mountain."

Then I scroll up to see the picture of him and it's his Minecraft head, not the whole skin, just the very pixelated face. Then I think to myself, wouldn't it be funny if I sent this to someone with no context then ask them: "What do you think this person looks like?"

what happened last session and this session reminds me a lot of 3rd life and how that went. technically, secret life is much like 3rd life, mixed with the added 3 players introduced in last life and of course, because of the added gimmick, it is also quite different. the point is that secret life’s session 2s death remind me of the 1 we got in session 2 of third life, only of the number of deaths, not the way it happened. secret life’s death, especially the 5 we got this session reminds me of all 5 deaths we got in session 4 of 3rd life. so…still depending on how it goes, we still technically/hopefully can get 8 sessions/episodes or so out of this still.

heres a little hermitcraft and life food for thought.

y'know 3rd life smp? I feel like that's something that happens after hermitcraft reaches a conclusion, and they're put under a 3 life curse by some unknown entity. and of course, with this, their deaths are permanent once they're red. anything past this is something that I'm still thinking about and debating.

2nd life though? I think that's the afterlife.

(spoilers for 3rd life smp below)

grian and scar being soulmates feels too perfect to be a coincidence. grian killed scar, and now they're soulmates. it feels like a second chance for grian to... feel better about what happened. to redeem himself in his mind.

it's also a chance for etho to go red, since he hasnt gone red in 3rd life yet. 2nd life is his chance to experience going red, to experience what he's missed out on in 3rd life.

2nd life is a second chance for everyone to get peace, and when they finally die, that's it for them. they can finally rest.

depending on new content my opinion may change and evolve but for now this is how I feel about everything.

i haven't watched pearl's episode yet. but there's something to be said about the fact that she knew scar well enough to know that, when it was the two of them, he would have too much pride to accept a sacrifice.

she doesn't want to win, and she tells him at first before she quietly tucks that secret back into its shell after scar's indignant reaction to her first attempt at self-sacrifice. she lets scar forget about it as they kill gem, and then as scar kills pearl. at no point does she try to say here, let me give this to you. she knows scar, but she also knows the pain of an ending like that.

but she misses a few swings, doesn't she? her legs don't move as quickly to duck away from his arrows. and isn't that familiar? isn't that something like a cactus ring, with two unrelenting fists and two half-hearted ones: a fight with two unwilling participants, a fight that was over before it ever really began at the insistence of one of its patrons

pearl is all too familiar with the sting of sacrifice, but then on the other side of things... scar knows all too well the tragedy of gifted victory, doesn't he?
