Outside The Window

The weather outside earlier today was sunny. The kind of day for a walk, except it's winter and there is snow outside, so it was a nice day for a drive. That is just what I did! I went on a drive! The sun made me happy and warm! It's not seen often in the winter, but it was seen today. Tomorrow is not going to be a good day!

Doveva essere un sogno assurdo, lei si era sdraiata a letto e aveva iniziato a vaneggiare dalla stanchezza, sognando di aver aperto un magico cassetto da cui era uscito uno scintillante folletto che aveva deciso di rendere ogni suo sogno realtà, non potevano esserci altre spiegazioni. E poi desideri, che cosa desiderava nemmeno lei lo sapeva più. Pensò ai suoi libri, alle sue storie incompiute, ai suoi sogni infranti e poi a William. Chiuso nella sua storia di celluloide, con un inevitabile tristo epilogo, che lei non riusciva ad accettare. Pensò a tutti i suoi personaggi, che lei aveva abbandonato come avevano fatto gli autori di William, chiudendo frettolosamente la sua storia. Tagliando la sua vota come se fosse semplicemente un filo di troppo che sporgeva da una manica. (...) William era davanti a lei, in piedi, alto e rigido, così fuori posto nella piccola stanza rosa e decorata con vecchia carta da pareti. Degli occhiali da sole a specchio giacevano a terra accanto a William, scivolati probabilmente dalla sua mano lievemente tremante. Era esattamente come era rimasto impresso nella sua mente nel fotogramma in cui lo aveva messo in pausa prima di andare a lavoro quella mattina, anche le cicatrici che segnavano il suo volto erano al loro posto. La bocca di William era dischiusa in una silenziosa domanda, che non riusciva ad esprimere a voce alta, la stessa che Micaela cercava di afferrare. Come? Come poteva essere possibile?
