hey, it’s me again xD i just wanted to say that the "first driver" fix came out soo good, thank u for working on my request!

if you have time and like the idea, i’d have another readerxdriver request (for whatever driver you think fits best/want to write the most) where the reader is a professional stunt driver (for like hollywood productions) and is hired by the driver’s team to make a video for their youtube account, where both drive in a car, get questions, show of their skills or something (kinda like the video where seb and lance are drifting with the old aston martins or where toto and susie drive around the track, idk if u know what i mean)

and the reader surprises the driver by being quite talented and can drive very well, so when she makes u-turns or drifts, he’s like “fuck, that’s sexy”.

"My name is YN YSN and I'm a stunt driver. You have probably seen me on films like Baby Driver, Six Underground or the last Fast and Furious film. Well, not me, but the car I'm driving. Today I'm gonna do this cool video with Pierre Gasly, driver for Alpha Tauri in F1 and well, I hope you enjoy it!"

You and Pierre had already had your presentations. To be fair, when they told him he was doing this with a stunt driver, he was thinking of a male stunt driver. He was a bit of a pick when he looked at you and said a girl. But well, you were good and you knew it, you hadn't driven Vin Disels car for nothing, right?

Pierre was driving first. He was nervous, he was a good driver, obviously. But you were sitting there and he could feel you gaze.

"Okay, I'm gonna ask you questions while you drive." Pierre nodded.

He was trying so hard to concentrate on driving and answering those questions. He wanted to do goo because well, he didn't have the opportunity to impress a pretty girl like you often. Not like this. You were a professional, you would know if he was making mistakes.

"Okay Pierre. You are good at driving fast, we all know that. But... Can you do some drifting?" You told him.

"If that's what you want..."

He would be the biggest show-off. He tried to be like one hand on the wheel and another on the stick the whole time. Like, look how effortlessly I can do this. Which was fun because you could see him struggling sometimes. But yeah, he had a good drifting technique.

"And what about some spinning? Give us some 360°" You were a tease. You had a smirk on your face and were enjoying so much.

He would need a couple of tries to do a full spin, which put some blush on his cheeks and made him curse a couple of times in French.

"Wow! Well done!" You clasped and shouted when he finally managed to make some doughnuts. "Fucking awesome, Pierre"

And he would be so proud and happy after that. He had a smug smile on his face and was looser in the car.

But then it was your turn.

He gasped the moment you pressed the throttle, starting like in those street racing films and leaving black patches in the places the tires were.

Then you started driving like mad around the track, drifting on the corners and being completely fearless. You were in complete control of the car and your skills were the most perfect he had ever seen.

He kept asking questions. "So, how did you get into driving?"

"I watched Thelma and Louise and I wanted to run away from the police too. Then I was told that it's a bit illegal and a few years later I discovered that stunt driver was a job and here I am"

Casually and as you drove like it was nothing, you made a U-turn and drove on the other way.

"Fuck" Was everything Pierre could say.

Then you made a 360º spin and he gasped.

"Fuck, that's sexy" He said after you started spinning on the track, drawing black circles on the pavement and making the engine roar.

You looked at him while doing so, his pupils were blown wide and he was biting his lip.

"Meet me for dinner?" You whisper only loud enough for him to hear.

He would chuckle and nod.

would you recommend going to the barcelona museum?

so much! it's the new museum since Camp Nou is under reconstruction, and they did an immersive experience. i'm gonna be honest, when i booked the tickets I thought it was going to be lame, mostly virtual (like screens only) and that it was too expensive for it. but when i got there, i was gladly wrong. i def recommend it, it's worth the visit!!

it's so cool and it has different rooms and the trophies are there, old stuff like gloves, the first shoes used by that player, old kits, it's so cool to see it! there's a massive wall with barça's kits from all the years and new ones. a special place for la masia story with this big screen with a cute video of la masia players talking about it, that's the video i posted a few days back. there's a special place for Messi and his trophies, a room with touch screen totem where you select a player and you see their information and a little video with their highlights 😭 and a room with those popular installations nowadays where they display videos on all the walls and it's 360º it's very cool!!

the price is in line with other museums in Barcelona (I paid the same for Casa Battló) so if you're a barça fan, you should check it out. I love it. It's not big and fascinating as museums with yk art pieces and sculptures, but it's amazing to see the club's history and old stuff.

i want to go again when they reopen camp nou because there's a ticket where you enter the pitch and it must be amazing.

Rough cut and feedback

★ Rough Cut

Although I failed to finish my music video, I did show to my class it's rough cut in order to garner thoughts, criticisms and advice, which I would then apply to further work on my film in order to insure better quality.

Overall, I personally feel I did a good job given the number of mixed media animations and creative edits, however need to ensure I gather enough coverage to fill up the entirety of my music video. Despite this, the second half of my music video is far more comprehensive and complete in comparison to the 1st, meaning I only need to gather around 20-30 seconds of footage to

Strengths

Common strengths my peers analysed laid mostly in creativity and editing. The aspect of creativity my peers particularly enjoyed was the mixed media animations, which according to them was 'done to a high standard'. In addition to this, they liked my use of interesting shot types, particularly gimbal 360º shots as well as the use of polaroids. One of my peers particularly enjoyed the 'kick into action' with faster paced editing during the choruses.

Weaknesses

The one key weakness that I was made aware of laid entirely on the quality of some of the shots, with a few being overexposed, which was done to compensate for the poor lighting as the weather was bad. I brainstormed ways to combat this, such as doing a reshoot however settled on utilising the fun nature of mixed media animation to cover up the overexposed white areas or simply just brighten up the shots.

I was however, given suggestions on how to further improve my film, with a couple of my peers positing I experiment more with combining different typefaces which reflect the chaotic nature of my film, as well as exploring colour grading in order to give my film the highly saturated, 2000s, myspace-esque tackiness. Overall, I feel the response was generally positive, with 100% of my peers stating they would take this as the real music video.

BIO: Born in 1994 in Genova, Italy to two Ukrainian immigrants. Veronica has found herself to be attracted to the world of art since an early age. interested in music, painting, sculpture, drawing and in the recent years; digital media. ​In 2017 she moved to Aberdeen in Scotland and started studying at gray's school of art in the contemporary art practice course. She started specialising in video, digital art, and installations. Her passion for sound art and electronic music has moved into a discovery of the art of vjing. After graduating in 2021 with First Class Honours she has moved to the city of Edinburgh to continue her art career. Veronica also freelances as a poster and cover art designer.

Veronica is part of the audiovisual duo mutomajor, of the creative collective PowerPot and Ukrainian events and radio Pentane Cast.

Artist statement: I am researching in-depth the issues of filters, selfies and social media curation on people’s psychology and self-esteem. I’m looking into selfie dysmorphia or also known as Snapchat dysmorphia, a psychological condition that causes an individual to prefer the “filtered” version of themselves.

I like to integrate aspects of club culture and underground electronic music which have become a huge part both of my life and my art practice. I want to merge the two together creating a 360º experience for the viewer with uses of vibrant videos and visuals, sound art and electronic music composition.

Corrupting and glitching files is an ongoing theme in my artwork, I want to continue to integrate that into my projects. Together with programs such as “TouchDesigner” I can add yet another layer of distortion to the piece. Through that type of node coding, I can change the reality of the artwork even more giving it another aesthetic and meaning.  Combining gifs and altering ready-made videos creates a digital surrealist re-elaboration of existing work. This “recycling” of video material brings a new life to files lost in cyberspace, giving them another opportunity to tell another story. I like to edit the videos I’ve corrupted and created in Premiere Pro, this gives me the opportunity to put together a narrative of these diverse clips.

With the addition of sound art, it creates an audio-visual experience for the viewer that will transport them into a digital world full of glitching colours and powerful images.

I'm Glad My Mom Died Review

I didn't actually plan to make this my first review on this here little book review account, but I loved this book so much that I feel like it deserves a review while it's still fresh in my mind. I never listen to audiobooks but I will admit that, in rare form, I actually did for this book. Jennette McCurdy herself narrated it, which I think gave a lot of insight and a personal touch to the narration (although, if I can be a bit of an ass and critique her a little here, she read way too damn fast, and at times it was a little hard to keep up).

Two years ago, during my own experience recovering from a spiral into disordered eating, I stumbled upon McCurdy's YouTube channel where, before the release of her book, she uploaded podcast episodes and interviews divulging her experiences with disordered eating and her chaotic past. I found so much solace in these videos, and McCurdy's positive yet refreshingly cynical attitude was a huge comfort to me during a difficult time.

Hearing her voice as a writer in this book made my already-massive respect for her grow tenfold. The dysfunction in her childhood is hard to fathom - living in a hoarder house, a disconnected "father," an overbearing and abusive mother, growing up Mormon. There is much that I relate to, especially the "mother-as-best-friend" dynamic, which I myself have been unpacking recently. The realization that Jennette has in therapy, wherein the facade of her perfect mother begins to crack, was fucking gut-wrenching. In the audio recording, it is the only time she chokes out a sob, and... fuck dude. So did I. Jesus.

Her experience with disordered eating is something I, on a much smaller scale, can relate to - the desperate bid for control, the obsession with your body and numbers, the way other problems diminish as your eating disorder becomes all-consuming. However, I can't imagine the scale of her disorder, and the role it played in her life. With such little control, and with such scrutiny by her mother, the people orchestrating her career in the entertainment industry, the public eye, it's as if an eating disorder was the only thing she could have had to control it all, and to shut everything else out. As poor of a coping skill as eating disorders are, I can imagine how, while traumatic, it was also incredibly self-soothing. As Jenette says, eating disorders are the kind of thing you don't really understand until you've had one.

I was at first a bit annoyed by how short each chapter is, and I still feel as though many of them ended a bit abruptly. But I began to appreciate the brevity of each chapter - they each felt like their own short story within the greater context of her life, touching on so many different themes and tracking the minutiae of the periods of her life. Sex and dating and acting and OCD and EDs and her mom's abuse and cancer and dad-reveal are all woven together in small chapters, each one like a slap in the face. Much like Jennette, the reader is battered with traumatic events in succession, with little room to come up for air.

As I mulled about the battering of misfortunes that McCurdy has faced throughout her life, I thought, "How did chaos keep finding her?" And not only her - I've been thinking about my own life, lives of certain friends, of people I knew in school; the lives of people with messy childhoods, who seem to track this mess on their shoes into a muddy-footprinted adulthood. I think that, no matter how inadvertently, chaos follows chaos. You become a magnet for it. Because when you've grown up in it, when you can do a 360º spin and see nothing but chaos in all directions, you can't even see that there is a normal out there. And in your cocoon of chaos, you feel safe, soothed. A million voices at once, plus car crash and wall-punching and glass shattering noises, are going to deafen all the little individual voices in your head - the ones that tell you you're nothing, you're unlovable, you're a failure. So the abusive mom and eating disorders and schizophrenic boyfriend and impostor dad, all of it, seem to be not a random act of misfortunes, a cosmic fluke that caused one single person more grief than a dozen combined, but a testament to the fact that a traumatic childhood leads a person into a life of chaos. Only with reflection, with work, with therapy – with the courage to stop spinning, and to walk straight ahead past and through that 360º circle of chaos – can you finally end the cycle, turn the magnet around, be free of chaos for good.

While I read, I thought of The Bell Jar. Through it all, with gritted teeth, I waited until McCurdy's bell jar would lift - even just a little. And though it seems that her jar may never be all the way up, that her air may always be slightly acrid, it seems that she can now, finally, at least breathe well. That her jar has lifted enough for some reprieve. That is something we can all hope for.
