I understand that part of this is the fact that BBC Sherlock characters and Books' Sherlock characters do not match everywhere, ive only read a few of the stories, watched the movies watched bbc sherlock, but Mycroft, my favourite and most vivid in my head is BBC's. Elementary tends to borrow some books things that bbc doesn't.

I enjoy Mycroft in Elementary, a lot of his scenes with Sherlock and Joan too and I admit that both the first and second time I watched the show they honestly had me doubting whether or not they'd do the MI6 etc angle at all (which is a plus, but they may have made him too stupid for the plot sometimes)

but sometimes Elementary!Mycroft dresses so much like if 2015 Phil Lester had better clothes (he puts his hand in the pockets of his low waist jeans too) and his whole thing with Joan is so foreign to this story and, honestly, hilarious, that I honestly do not know how to take him seriously. Nevermind the fact that they occasionally make him out to be such a fool in comparison to BBC!Mycroft that it throws me for a loop.

I want to talk more about what i meant by funny, it's just that Mycroft tells Joan that his "main motivation" or whatever is protecting Sherlock and then they proceed to bond over their mutual interest in him, then they bone, then they act like mentioning him ruins the mood as if mentioning him isn't what got them there in the first place. The whole triangle "he connects us but we want boundaries from him" thing seems so teen drama - ish to me. Im not saying i hate it or that i dont enjoy parts of it, it's just so funny and foreign that I can not for the life of me take it seriously, and sometimes, the fact that they don't realise how funny it is, annoys me.

I both appreciate and am annoyed by that whole season two ending plot with Mycroft and the abduction etc , i just think it feels like they're doing too much with parts of it, i appreciate parts of it a lot too though, so , idk
