We will be running a Trick or Treat Event between 21 Oct and 31 Oct, similar to the one we ran in 2021. The announcement post will go up later today. ;)

There will be a 12 Days of Christmas 2023! It will likely include fewer photosets, although if our edits creators would like ot make some prompt photosets of their own - please contact @linane-art and I can talk you through their required standards (just to keep things consistent).

Before the end of 2023 (look out for it around or just after Christmas) we will run a survery for you to pick a couple of your favourite events, out of all the events we have ever ran, and set up 3-4 of those accross 2024.

I'd abandoned tumblr for about 4? 5? years 2016ish through 2020, had a short stint with it again in 2020, took peeks and vehemently disagreed with much of what I saw in 2021-2022, and grudgingly settled back in in 2023. I wasn't going to interact. I wasn't.

In terms of Sebastian, here is what we know about 2024:

“a different man” will premiere at Sundance on Jan 21. Hopefully he will attend, we will have content and an actual release date as well as the first reviews

He will finish to film the DT biopic and hopefully we will not have to hear about it till late 2024/early 2025

What if…? S3 comes out sooner or later so more BB

“Thunderbolts” starts filming in spring so hopefully sets pics and more infos

2023 has been good, more highs than lows (i would say just one low with the half disappointment of the DT movie!). Kinda sucks we saw him less compared to 2021/2022, the strike helped for sure 😂

But we can cheer the few times we saw him: the paris fashion week and francis&jenny’s wedding for example definitely are two of my fave moments of 2023 as well as the mini press tour for sharper! His Ghosted cameo and Dumb Money small part go straight to the most fun parts of 2023!

why the entire bus stop sequence is one of my top 5 fav bbs scenes

EXT. BROKEN BUS STOP — NIGHT

preface: back when bad buddy was still airing up until episode 8, i had two favorite scenes so far and this from episode 3 was one of them. the reason for why this scene is so good is quite simple, unlike my other favorite scene.

here, it is easily digestible, and the back and forth between the actors is entertaining. it's important to understand the foundation of pat and pran's relationship.

pran is so right. as a fellow creative, it's so hard to be one. and people who work on technical fields won't understand firsthand how the minds of creatives function, especially an aspiring architect like pran because the design has to be practical, clean, right, feasible, and appealing. all aspects of aesthetics and functionality are considered.

clearly, pran is in a bit of a creative slump, and someone with a fresh mindset can help.

they do, however, sneak in a bit more depth at how these two feel about each other, rather than act around each other, but it's still a glimpse. a taste test, if you will. the moment passes by and finishes immediately. pran tries to protect himself and his feelings, while pat breaks down a layer of wall.

ohm does a such a good job with his facial expression: wincing at the cold answer. pat's smart, he probably has an idea that it's the usual snarky pran comment, but pat's still clearly hurt.

this small exchange ends, and we go back to banter. it's very representative of the show as a whole. it refuses to dwell on the heaviness of drama, and immediately gives it audience levity without undermining that it can get serious sometimes.

(not gonna lie, i cried a little seeing pran so in his element and pat being secretly happy for giving him motivation. the sneaking glances.)

so after pat helping pran for the nth time by allowing him to organically come up with the bus stop's design and not force him just like how he folded the poster of the project pitch grant into a paper airplane + one oishi ad later,

we get this. (also i see you nanon, you really moved a little bit so your blocking is v-shaped. you're not slick.)

this is what cemented the scene for me and made it one of my favorites: just six lines of dialogue.

"Do you like it? // The new bus stop." "I do. // I'm just not sure they will do too." "They will. // Because I do."

this original commentary was literally from december 2021 so some time has passed and a lot more facts sprung from this dialogue, namely the translation of it being "do you like [dot dot dot]? the new bus stop?" being a double meaning to pat asking if pran likes him, why there's a pause, and that's great of course, and we understand why pran always feels so apprehensive around pat when he says flirty shit like that lmao.

but the moment right after, the look pran gives pat when pat says "because i do" is so emphasized and knowing and that's why i zeroed in on it. this is my interpretation:

at first, i was slightly reserved with "they will because i do" particularly; i felt like it could've been better if pat said that it didn't matter if others didn't like it as long as pran likes his own work (and that it works obviously),

but i realized that that is not what pran needed to hear at that moment.

aside from the romantic context that pat believes in pran when no one else will (ahem his shit ungrateful friends making him carry most of the work when they broke the bus stop ahem) and it's genuinely a really sweet thing to say, it also eases pran's doubts. we know pran is a neurotic person, so i'm sure validation from someone (bonus if it's from your crush) is something he values a lot.

also: pat's absolute, genuine sincerity.

no games. no funny business. no pretenses.

pran finally looks at pat without the stern facade and coldness, and for once he lets go. he accepts that warm feeling rushing back.

My School President Episode 11: So what now?

Man I freaking loved this episode. Grief, healing and the power of friendship? An overprotective mother's internal struggle to let her son grow up and live his own life? Sign me up. An incredibly focused episode this week, as Chinzhilla doesn't win Hot Wave and almost comes apart over it, and Ms. Potjanee contemplates how to broach the subject of Gun with Tinn now that she's realised they're together.

The stages of grief, starring Anger as the main character. Watching our boys first turn away from each other, then lash out at each other as Por (!) tries desperately to keep them all together...that hurt a lot. To fail at this thing they had so much of their self-worth tied up in causes a big spiral. They really left everything on that stage, and still came up short. Life goes that way sometimes. Add in the disastrous return trip to the temple at the beach where everything that can go wrong does go wrong, and it's no wonder they're all at each other's throats. Harsh words are spoken. Fisticuffs are threatened. Tears are shed. Watching Win lash out at Gun was especially painful, because Win has been the most loyal. He has been the one most supportive of Gun's leadership, so to see him scream repeatedly at Gun that their loss is his fault...oof. We already know that's exactly how Gun feels, so for Win to just scream it in his face over and over and over was the absolute worst. I hated every minute of the boys fighting, they're all so fragile, so scared, so hurt, so sad.

We've already seen that Por may be dumber than a bag of hair, but has a keen emotional intelligence. I loved him bringing the fight to a swift close by taking the blame onto himself, by reminding them that THEY ARE FRIENDS FIRST AND FOREMOST and they shouldn't be fighting like this, that they have to mourn together, and keep going. He basically shames them all into acting right, all while wearing a fab outfit and sporting a broken leg. And then Yak, who understands intimately this particular pain, calls to remind them in his own way that there's life after this. That losing Hot Wave doesn't mean they're losers. Yak's band winning their Freshy Music Contest (look, in my head BB and MSP exist in the same universe, just go with it) is some sweet after the bitter. This defeat isn't the end, as much as it feels that way. There will be victories to come, and one of those victories is getting to see the next generation try and hopefully succeed.

There hasn't been a great deal made of the fact that the Music Club doesn't have any juniors for Gun et al to hand the Holy Chinchilla over to, but it's been noteworthy to me. Chinzhilla is a tradition that's been passed down, along with You Got Ma Back, for generations we've been told, but Gun and the gang seem to be the end of the line. There hasn't been interest in joining the bunch of slacker losers who just eat BBQ pork and never accomplish anything. But it seems like the band are more loved than they think, with the student body voting for them to play the prom. The school year might be winding down, graduation might be approaching, but there's still time for some kid or kids to poke their head around that corner and ask 'is this Music Club?'

The other big story this week is Ms. Potjanee slowly and quietly coming to terms with her baby boy being queer. She almost fumbles it at every juncture, but she always pulls back and does the right thing. I was SO NERVOUS when she went to see Gun, but in the end she didn't put her jumbled feelings on him and I breathed a sigh of relief. Her asking Tinn flat out if Gun invited him to the beach, and him deciding to trust her with the truth that he is going on Gun's invitation, and her just quietly allowing it without asking questions in that moment...it's all so well done. Potjanee is trying so hard to do right by her son, even as she struggles with all that means, like not being overprotective and trusting that she has raised Tinn to handle the slings and arrows of the world. It's a different response from Ms. Gim, who I think is going to start wedding planning when Gun tells her he and Tinn are dating, but it's still the response of a loving mother. It's why I don't buy the cliffhanger dread and the doom preview: because Potjanee has continued to struggle but in the end do the right thing.

Ad Libs

It looks like most of the Chinzhilla boys haven't secured a university place. I wasn't surprised at Gun and Win, but Pat and Por not having future plans in place yet was a bit unexpected. I wonder if this is kids who've done the direct admission exams at this point while the others are still preparing for the GAT.

Watching Chinzhilla dream-sing 'Healing' to themselves put me right in my feels.

Is Ford gunning for the Mix Sahaphap sultriness crown? There was WAY too much sauce for a high school romcom coming off Por when he was flirting with Tiw.

That said, the Tiw/Por came out of nowhere but I refuse to be mad about it.

Tinn is EXACTLY the kind of boy who would gift his musician boyfriend a custom-made music box that plays the love song he wrote for him. Mixtapes are for the weak!

They're playing with us now when it comes to a Tinn/Gun kiss...lol. But in a way I'm glad they're dealing with the parents stuff first.

After the Bad Buddy episode 12 preview I'm absolutely not believing a single moment of this one.

The finale is going to be prom, and I can't think of a more fitting way to end this story (until Our Skyy 2 anyway).

i was down SO BAD for the bb jays in 2021. and so fascinated by vladdy and bo while knowing negative things about them...they were just always huggin on the bb jays instagram!! so i wrote a fic abt them that very gently plays with religious imagery and the concept of magic. it came together in a way i love so much.

this fic literally exists outside the space-time continuum. like you have to read it as an artifact of its time (no cuda fandom, very small sharks fandom, william eklund a just-hatched baby bird with no feathers) for it to even be salvageable as a fanfic, but there like. WAS no time, there was only me, my growing jasper weatherby feelings, and an unexpected 10 day vacation at the end of the year. i love it so much and would write it completely differently if i wrote it now. so i'm very glad i wrote it when i did, because it just has so much love and is so hopeful and so chaotic.

i actually don't even reread this regularly bc i get so mad about the process i went through while posting it, but it IS one of my favorite things that i've ever written. i really wanted to try to write a friends with benefits fic where they aren't In Love-in love and they stay friends only but are deeply committed to caring for each other. and i think i did that pretty well tbh. it came together how i wanted it to. though i sometimes think about the hypothetical future of cale and devon in the fic and get kind of sad. like, is there a future for them where they remain the same or does cale eventually fall for devon and the peace between them gets wrecked or does devon get traded and cale's little heart cracks without him, or. you know like what happens to cale, basically, i don't know. i'm not writing a sequel but i think about their future from cale's pov quite often

I've been doing this for the last few years and it's been a satisfying exercise so time to take a look at my AO3 and see what I did this year for writing.

After a few absolutely maniacal years of writing, this year slowed down. I missed it, but life and more responsibilities at work got in the way. Still, there were some satisfying accomplishments.

I finished Echoes in the Dark, a fic I started about a month after Word of Honor aired and then I was distracted by some other fandom events. It's an AU where Zhou Zishu is also kidnapped by the Ghost Valley master when he and Wen Kexing were children. There's great art for it from the wip big bang and I'm really proud of it.

I also wrote sending wishes into the sky, a fic focused on Wen Kexing's relationship with Gu Xiang and processing her death for a discord exchange that I ended up fully outlining in a few hours and finishing at warp speed because I knew exactly what I was trying to do with it.

And a few one shots for Our Dating Sim that I even feel warm and fuzzy when I read them.

Plus finally finishing the Semantic Error fic I linked above that I started in 2022.

My writing this year was dominated by thai bl shows, which is interesting since I had not written for any thai bl until Bad Buddy. But I did a few exchanges (one in bbs fandom and one in GMM fandom) so that definitely made it more likely for me to write them.

Last year I said my writing goals will be to continue to work on finding a balance between catching inspiration when it comes and keeping going when a story requires more detailed work and sustained attention. This remains a continued goal. I finally finished two long standing wips this year and I have one more to go.

Also, related, getting better at outlining longer plots. haha.

For 2024, I will finish The Triple N Project if it is the last thing I do. I would also like to write some more for Cherry Magic Thailand and go back to a reincarnation AU I started for The Devil Judge long ago.

I know this is only gossip and nothing is set on stone but don't y'all find the alleged behavior of BOTH J & T gross?

J was already on thin ice for preying on an underage R but now allegedly cheating on her? the AUDACITY of this hag who lives off his gf and the roles and connections R provides for his inexistent acting career. I feel so bad for R cause she's super young basically putting her ALL for a man who only gives back a quarter of the energy and attention she clearly craves from her significant other.

On the other hand, while I love and respect T as an actor he moves kinda weird to my liking, I understand every relationship has their own set of boundaries but if you ask me personally, if I already find liking random insta girls a tad disrespectful imagine what do I think about him liking sexy pictures of his female coworkers, girls whom are very much in contact with him for long periods of time. Idc what people say, I don't think BB is comfortable with his behavior and while we don't know her full thoughts on the matter her online activity makes it very obvious there's a few insecurities looming around. If he's allegedly chatting up girls it's even worse, it doesn't matter if he hasn't done anything physical YET... he's already breaking the trust of the other half.

Anyways, I just in principle hate men so much 😭 Im not even surprised anymore with the shit men manage to pull anymore but it's still disappointing. If there's any truth to any of these said rumors I hope both R and BB choose themselves, their careers, mental health and well being. They deserve men who WORSHIP the floor they walk on

*sigh* this comes up every single month on the blog lol and people have their opinions on his likes (which is fine).

T has been liking pics since 2021 so BB has known about this for 3 years. It’s becoming more of an issue because he’s famous and is slowly integrating himself into the celeb circle. Before he didn’t have access to gorgeous women on the regular so a like was just a like. That’s not the case anymore.

BB probably never liked his online behavior but wasn’t deterred because he would never met those women or models in IRL. Now if he liked S Sweeney pics (as an example) that insecurity could jump out because it’s a high possibility he could meet or work with her in the future.

Let’s put ourselves in BB’s shoes. If your man was liking random thirst traps online, you might say to yourself “I wish he wouldn’t do that but whatever, he’s never going to meet these women. A like is just a like. Not a big deal.” Some women don’t see this as a dealbreaker.

Unfortunately if she always had an issue with it, she should have addressed it the moment he did it years ago. It’s a little too late to get him to break a habit she was previously OK with.

Asfghajsdg but in all seriousness, I love that we both started getting active around the BB tumblr fandom around the same time, because even though I was a Soulsborne junkie, I had never found a stable group of lore-friends to enjoy it with, and throughout 2020-2021, I was just drifting aimlessly after watching my old fandom community collapse.

I had been only using tumblr for random shit on another account before this one, but one day I looked up something about the Doll and Gehrman, kinda wondering if the whole “Even the Doll” creep-theory had any other interpretations. I just didn’t like the idea that Miyazaki had written his main “sad old man” of Bloodborne to be a weirdo because it didn’t sound…right? Something felt really off lol. His “sad old men” types usually are dark because of their grave mistakes that led to the deaths of people they cared about/innocent people.

It’s always more tragic than it is gross, and Miyazaki is big on that type of story-telling. He likes his refinement. Sure enough, that gave me the hunch that the Doll wasn’t…ya know.

And voila! I stumble across your brilliant post! I think it was one of the things that made me finally create a Soulsborne blog because I wanted to reblog it. I’m not sure if that’s the exact timeline, but it was definitely part of what drew me over here.

And now here we are, going strong, trying to move on after going through fandom drama hell, and it’s been three years!

Girl you say this, but at the almost same time, Fantomette also started scouting the fandom and figured she wanted to stick with me over that post :pensive: That post makes me extremely nostalgic! It was just... so chill, so nice, so leveled. 0% fatigue. Where did that nice version of me go and who is this angry unlikeable bitch typing this ask response now? xD

But yeah, overall, Soulsborne games are just written in such a way that it genuinely helps to know all of them on at least basic story level to understand each of them individually! The more I learned about reoccuring themes in other games in the series, the better my lore understanding became. You know I would not do shit on Research Hall and Deep Sea without DS3, or better grasp ER characters without entire DS trilogy! If you don't want to play, just learn their themes and story, I promise it helps a lot!

Anyways thank you for the nice words; I had not even noticed how fast the time went by! It feels like I have not done "enough" considering three years span, but maybe I am underestimating myself and focusing too much comparing amount of my drawings compared with faster and more talented artists. After all, fandomry is first about discussions and passion, and I've had nothing BUT that on the way x) So yeah, let's just give up and die watch fandom crash and burn. Because, you know what? THE very "system" that made it crash and burn to begin with will also, eventually, crash and burn, and something good will sprout from the ruins. And we won't miss it! Except, that good era will also crash and burn eventually. And then the thing that destroyed it will. And then what people build from THOSE ruins will. I'm lowkey curious what GMMTV BL will blow up this year like last Year was MSP then 2021 BB then 2gether in 2020 and all of these series have very similar vibes I would say Only Friends but if it is as toxic as what is being hinted at I could see that turn people off if Gap is anything to go by 23.5 could really blow up

I'm pretty sure Only Friends will blow up and definitely not only in a positive way sjkdghd but we all knew that from the start. there's gonna be discourse but negative attention is also attention so 💁🏼‍♀️

Aside from OF I'm expecting Cherry Magic to become a big deal too if that ever sees the light of day lmao. Dangerous Romance is already getting hyped and with PC being the only new pair this year, it definitely has potential to become big as well. And then obviously Our Skyy2 will make big waves starting next week lol. people will go crazy for that one it's me i'm people.

I don't think any of these shows will reach a BBS or 2Gether level though because not even MSP could do that lol but let's see what happens. none of these shows are out yet but I still think OF, DR and 23.5 deserve the most attention lmao.

I'll Be Home for Christmas

Fili’s car was packed. The trunk of his old blue sedan was overflowing with presents. They filled the trunk and spilled over onto the backseat. There was even one tucked into the footwell of his passenger’s seat. The large one that took up most of the backseat is for Kili. It is not wrapped, its shape would give it away, but it did sport a bright red bow. 

He had been counting down the days until the semester was over and he could get in his car and drive over 500 miles to his mother’s house where everyone congregated for the holidays. He did not make it back for Christmas in 2019, things were busy at work and he had not been able to get away as the low man on the job, and he thought that there was always next year.

But there wasn’t a Christmas in 2020. 

They had gotten everyone together on a video call, but it was not the same. It was chaotic. That part was the same. There had been laughs, but mostly it made Fili feel more alone than if he had just pretended that there was not a holiday at all. 

And in 2021 he had been so sick that he could barely make it from his bed to the bathroom muchless drive across several states. 

So it’s been years since he has seen everyone. He did make it home for a week during the summer, but everyone had been busy with their own things, but he saw who he could and texted those he could not.

It was nearly 6am as he managed to find a place for his backpack behind the driver’s seat.

And it was almost midnight when he pulled onto the gravel drive that led to his mother’s house. Discarded coffee cups and food wrappers have joined the gift sitting in the front seat. 

Despite the late hour the house was still glowing with warmth. Almost every light was on and the curtains were open, leaving patches of warm light on the ground that had been dusted with snow. The front door opened almost as soon as he killed the engine. Fili climbed from the car and waves. He could not make out who it was with the amount of backlight. 

“You’re late!” Kili teased as he approached.

“I’m not late! It’s not even midnight!” 

“I thought you were coming yesterday.”

Fili pulled a hat down over his ears. “I was still at work yesterday. Who told you I was coming yesterday?”

“That would be me.” Dwalin laughed and threw an arm around Fili’s shoulders and gave him a squeeze. “Good to see you, kid.”

Thorin was right behind Dwalin. “And I made sure everyone else played along.”

“Bastards,” Kili grumbled. 

“He’s been driving your mother nuts for two days,” Thorin grinned. He put on a voice, “When’s Fili going to be here? When’s Fili coming? Have you heard from Fili?”

Kili shoved his uncle’s shoulder. “It’s because of you that I was sent to do all the snow shoveling and to feed the animals.”

“I know,” Thorin laughed. “Your mother just wanted some peace and quiet.” He turned to Fili, “I asked her if she enjoyed reliving the toddler years of incessant questions. She smacked me with a tea towel.”

“Do you need help carrying anything in?” Dwalin asked.

“That would be great. Most of it is in the trunk.” Fili opened the driver door to pop the trunk. He pulls his coat out and shrugs it and his backpack on while Dwalin and Thorin make quick work of the presents from the trunk. Work that is made even quicker when Nori and Ori join the throng. 

“Mom’s going to murder them,” Kili said conversationally. “She’s been shouting at them to ‘shut the goddamn door’ all day because they keep leaving it open even if it's just a crack.”

Fili looked to where the front door should be but is currently a rectangle of warm light. “They’re just letting the penguins in to help with the freezer, which I presume they’ve been leaving open.”

“Fridge more than the freezer, but that’s only because the beer is in the fridge and they ate all of the ice cream yesterday.”

Fili raised his eyebrows and nodded in amusement. 

Trunk empty now, Fili shut it and opened the back driver side door. “Here. Merry Christmas.” Fili pulled the object front the back seat with more than a little grunting and swearing as it got caught on every possible thing, the seatbelts, the buckles, a hump in the fabric where the seam was, the burned spot from when Fili and Kili had swiped a cigar from Gandalf the Christmas they were 15 and 12 and tried smoking it. When it was finally free he shoved it at Kili.

“What is it?”

“A sled.”

“Why?” Kili looked down at the wooden sled with its metal runners. It was very clearly not new. And it was not. Fili had found it at a “socially distanced” garage sale in 2020. It had been sitting in the corner of his living room gathering dust for over two years. 

“Are you so grown up that you don’t remember how to go sledding?” Fili teased, face serious. 

Kili rolled his eyes. “Of course I know how to go sledding. We went last year on Christmas. There’d been this massive storm. You’d know that if you’d been here.” There was a trace of bitterness in his final words.

Before Fili could say anything else they were interrupted.

“Boys! Get in here! You’ll catch your deaths out there!” Dis shouted from the open front door.

“That’d be our cue.” Fili followed Kili into the house. He did not miss how carefully Kili handled the sled. He may have been putting on a “not interested” face, but he still did. 

“Fili, dear,” Dis held her arms open to embrace her eldest son. “It’s so nice to have you home.”

“Happy to be here,” Fili grinned and lifted his mother off her feet. 

“Put me down, you scoundrel,” she laughed. “I hoped that one of you would not tower over me so I would not be surrounded by giants.”

“It’s your fault for feeding us so much.”

“You must be hungry. I could heat up some leftovers?”

Fili sees Kili over their mother’s shoulder mouthing “cookies.”

“Cookies will be fine. And something hot to drink if you’ve got it.”

“I just pulled a batch of gingerbread men from the oven. They’re still hot.

“Kili, can you take your brother’s things upstairs?”

“He can’t carry his own things?” Kili asked, but was not answered as Fili went in search of the aforementioned gingerbread cookies. 

When Kili found them in the kitchen a few minutes later Fili was on his third cookie and had a mug of hot chocolate topped with whipped cream.

“He gets whipped cream?”

Fili shrugged with a grin.

“There’s one just there for you,” Dis gestured to the other mug sitting on the counter. 

Kili picked up the full mug. “Marshmallows?”

“Only in mine,” Fili replied. 

“Good.” Whipped cream clung to his upper lift after he took a sip.

“Weirdo.”

Kili licked his upper lip. “You’re the one who likes foamed sugar.”

“So what have you been up to?”

Kili shrugged and leans against the counter. “Not much. Finals finished last week, so I’m free until the end of January.”

“Any good classes?”

As they chitchatted most everyone filtered through the kitchen for a final cookie or drink while they bid goodnight or goodbye before finding the beds made up for them or their cars and playing musical cars until their car was no longer boxed in. 

Fili stifled a large yawn. His jaw creaked.

“Off to bed with you two. The tree needs decorating tomorrow. And there will be plenty of other things that will need to be done,” Dis shooed them from the kitchen after she gave the counters one last wipe with a wet rag. She flipped the lights aff as they made their way through the house. 

While Kili used the bathroom Fili looked around their childhood bedroom. He sat on the bottom bunk and kicked off his shoes. He stretched out still fully dressed. His muscles relaxed after a long day in the car. 

“That’s my bed,” Kili said from the doorway.

“I’m older. The oldest gets the bottom bunk.”

“That rule doesn’t apply anymore. I’ve been sleeping there since you left.”

“And I’m back.” Fili tucked his hands under his head and closed his eyes. “Time to reclaim my spot as the superior sibling.”

Kili snorted. He made noise as he got ready for bed. “Are you going to change?”

“Maybe.”

“Do you need the light?” 

“No. I’ll be fine.” Fili’s words were slow and tired.

With the click of the switch the room went dark except for the moonlight reflecting off the snow outside and the glow of Christmas lights making its way up the stairs. The bed creaked and shivered as Kili hopped up to the top bunk. There was rustling and quiet grumbling as he made himself comfortable.

Fili smiled to himself. He remembered being so annoyed by Kili’s noises and wanting his own bedroom for years. But now those sounds are comforting. They are home.

“Fili?”

“Yeah?”

“I’m glad you’re home.”

“Me too.”

8 Shows to Get to Know Me

(tried to write these down in order from oldest to newest! meaning: when they came into my life and changed me)

I. Merlin (2008-2012)

one of the first shows i ever watched from a streaming site (aka illegally online haha), tho i did start watching it while it was airing on our tv. i adore the atmosphere, the world, the characters, and the whole journey throughout all five seasons. it feels whole. the fandom here is also amazing, even if i mostly watch it from afar ♥

II. Theory of Love (2019)

am not really sure when exactly i watched this for the first time, but i have vague memories of the last ep or the special ep only having just aired. it was one of my first introductions to bls - to good and more thoughtful bls - and i loved it with my whole chest. after rewatching it a year ago, i can still say it’s one of those shows that has rearranged something permanently in me. 

III. Sense8 (2015-2018)

the show that feels like it was made for me. it’s just so full of things i love: fantasy, mysteries, action, character bonds, found family, love, acceptance, understanding, and even psychological themes. i love each of the characters very dearly and enjoyed all of their relationships with each other. i also loved what this show did with intimacy, both the emotional and physical kind, by showing how it can be a source of great comfort. 

IV. The Untamed (2019)

my first ever cdrama that opened up a whole new world for me. it became one of my first ever big hyperfixations, one of my great loves. it let me dive into the world of other cdramas and so even more great shows. and it brought me to many new things and ppl here on tumblr after leading me into editing and so to the mdzs network ♥

V. The Lost Tomb 2 / Explore With The Note (2019)

i cannot really pack dmbj into only one show bc each of the adaptations has given me something to chew on, but tlt2 is always my baby. it is the show that made me love pingxie, the show that made me insane about their story, and the show i would die for. it gave me serious brainrot for such a long time, and even if it’s not the best one of the adaptations, it’s still very, very dear to me.

VI. You’re My Glory (2021) 

i never thought a romance show would get to me but this one did in so many ways. it taught me some precious lessons and i think it changed how i see accomplishments, dreams, and working hard to reach personal goals. it gave me hope and strength, and it just made me believe in love that is comfortable and adjusts to your needs. 

VII. Bad Buddy (2021)

the show that changed me about a year ago. the show that somehow opened up a lock inside of me, that allowed me to feel new things, that comforted me and understood me. idk if any bl can ever feel as much home as bb does. little did i know that when i started watching this silly bl during the christmas it was still airing, it would consume me, heart and soul, and then lead me here, wrapped up in this bl world. 

VIII. Vice Versa (2022)

if there’s one show to define me right now, to define me for the past year, it’s vice versa. it’s everything to me in every sense. it’s a show i go to when i want to cry, or smile, or feel warm, or happy, or sad, or delighted, or comforted, or loved. it’s a show that feels like a hug, a show that heals me in all the ways i need to be healed. it means so much to me. and it doesn’t hurt that it’s still one of the most beautiful bls i’ve ever seen ♥ (i could write essays of vv, tho at the same time it feels like the jane austen quote, “if i loved you less, i might be able to talk about it more”)

god's latte, epik high | 2023 — sometimes Tablo writes about things and talking to God and not getting the answers you want and having to answer it yourself in the vein of Ilya Kaminsky's 'at the trial of God...' and you have to sit down and think about it for a while. it's fine. everything is fine. (head in hands head in hands head in my f*cking hands this is Amor Fati's long lost twin and it hurts just as much)

besharam rang & jhoome jo pathaan | 2023 — the second cheat but i have no remorse over this bc it's SRK-Deepika!!! Shilpa and Arijit what better voices could you choose for such absolute bangers, honestly. BR gives off Ghungroo vibes which might have been the intent but the lyrics themselves are very 90s Bollywood? idk idk i think i've said this before but my Spotify mutuals probably think there's something wrong with me when they see i've had this playing for six hours with no status change and they have no context as to why
