#uthus what #i know no uthus #im literally so feral over them right now. like. the concept of them pining for each other #and then nimueh accidentally causing ygraine's death - and with that too the death of everyone else she held dear by uther's hands #like. there was no reason for her to revive *specifically* tristan. i can think of 2 reasons why #1) she wanted uther to fear the retribution of magic - that his mistakes will come to haunt him #but then i feel like she made that reason void when she revealed herself to be the one to bring back tristan? #2) she shared in the grief tristan had over ygraine's death and wished to see him get his revenge even if it was in death #and as for why she would want arthur dead had she loved ygraine 1) she knew that it was not arthur's fate to die by her hands #and therefore anything she did would not affect him in the end #because destiny is certain. and 2) agravaine hated arthur despite him being arthur's uncle #he blamed arthur for ygraine's death too #and so it's all a game of blaming in the end #uther blames magic. nimueh blames uther. both sides cannot come to see the issue objectively because of their overwhelming grief #what i would do to have a prequel to merlin #im like. 200% sure nimueh x ygraine would be the new merthur if they did have something like that #uthus just doesn't have the whole merthur tragedy vibe that nimueh x ygraine has #(sorry maria 😔😂) #bbc merlin
