When the boys pack to stay apart the week before their wedding, James decides to steal Sirius' pillow for himself.

“What are you doing?” Sirius asks, as James grabs his – Sirius’ – pillow as he packs for his ‘week away before the wedding’ bag.  It’s some silly tradition that they don’t spend the week leading up to their wedding together.  

Sirius thinks it’s dumb, but what’s dumber is that, for some reason, James is stealing his pillow.

“I’m taking your pillow, so I have something of yours to help me sleep.”

“Er, James, that’s my pillow for a reason and I would quite prefer if you left it here.”

“Oh, but I need it, Si.  Especially if I’m not going to have you to hold onto.”

James is pouting, and unfortunately, Sirius is a sucker for pouty James.  He still tries to list out all of the reasons that it’s terribly unfair for James to take his pillow, but James is giving him a look and he’s pouting and…

“Damn it, Jay.  This isn’t fair.”

James grins.  “Don’t worry, you’ll get it back… when we’re officially married.”

“You think I still want to marry you after you stole my pillow?”

James laughs.  “If you think you’re calling off the wedding over a pillow, try again.”

Sirius sighs.  “You’re lucky I love you.”

“I know.”

Aku tahu kau tak pernah berniat menyimpan luka itu, sendirian. Seandainya bisa kau sangat ingin luka itu menghilang, tidak pernah ada.

Naasnya, luka itu menetap di sana, dalam kurun waktu yang tidak bisa diperkirakan. Hari, bulan dan tahun pun telah berganti ia masih berdiam di sana. Menempati ruang kecil yang pelan-pelan ingin kau sembuhkan sekuat daya dan upaya.

Luka itu tertanam dalam sekali. Akarnya menggerogoti kepercayaan dan memusnahkan rasa percaya diri. Ia menjadikanmu sebagai sosok yang tak terbaca, terlihat tegar dari luar namun sangat rapuh di dalam.

Biarlah, jangan dipaksa. Kau butuh waktu untuk sembuh yang durasinya tidak bisa kau pukul rata dengan orang lain. Mereka mungkin lebih cepat pulih atau lebih lama dari yang kau bayangkan.

Ambil waktumu. Sembuhlah tanpa meninggalkan dendam setitik kecil pun lalu melangkahlah lagi. Maksimalkan peranmu, bukalah diri, beranilah bertemu dengan orang baru, jalin kembali tali silaturahmi yang sempat terputus.

Hiduplah dengan baik yang kan bertemu dengan orang-orang baik lagi membaikkan.
