I just had to revisit this new classic. I barely remembered most of it and it still felt fresh and heartbreaking. Those girls are dreamlike, almost impossible, ethereal. A fragment of these boys' memories that are revisited so often, it's hard to separate what is real and what is made up.
any belly-specific fantasies you've been thinking of lately?
honestly just been wanting someone to hug my belly and call me handsome or some shit while I talk about all the new movies I’ve watched or my favorite vinyls and they’re into it because I’m into it and they just like hanging out with me and stuff and I like hanging out with them and yeah
or like idk a belly rub or two would be nice too I guess
As a huge movie buff, I thought I'd try something fun on here. I have decided to launch a new internet challenge: "The 100 Favorite Movies Challenge". The rules are pretty simple and straight forward. You create a list of 100 of your personal favorite movies in alphabetical order, post the list on your home page, then nominate other people/users of your choosing to do the challenge.
There is no limit to what movies can be included on your list. Films within any medium (live action or animated), genre, and decade are more than welcome. Whether it's longtime favorites you were introduced to when you were younger, favorites that you've picked up over the years, or recent discoveries or releases that quickly became your favorites, anything and everything is on the table here.
I'll start off by sharing my list. To be clear, I have way more than 100 favorite movies, but to have the number be anything past that may be a bit much for some people. Please don't judge me if it seems like there might be a few noteworthy titles missing on here. I mainly put this list together just for fun. Alright, here we go!

I thought coming up with 100 movies would be hard, but once I got started they just kept coming and I actually had to remove some from the list when I was done to stay under 100 haha! List under the cut :)

* Does this one actually count as a movie? Feel like it's a bit of a stretch, but it does say "The Movie" right there in the title xD And it's ME, I feel like my list would be incomplete if I didn't include something starring my fave fire boi lol!
** What?! Frozen II on the list, but not the original Frozen?! That's right, it IS possible for one of a person's utmost fave characters of all time to be in a movie they thought was only okay xD Don't get me wrong, I do like Frozen, it just didn't make the cut for this list! Frozen II on the other hand came out in theaters at a time when I only had to pay $15/mo for unlimited movie tickets and I loved it so much, I was seeing it 2 or 3 times a week x'D
*** I know rules didn't say to point this out, but I feel like I had to do it anyway: Utmost. Fave. Movie. Of. All. Time. RDJ and Val Kilmer in a comedic whodunit? Movie gold! Watch it. It's good!
Okay, now to tag people! Remember this is just for fun, absolutely no pressure to actually do this, only if you want to! Tagging: @basiliskonline @daughterofkyne @astranovus64 and to anyone else reading this who thinks creating a list of your fave movies sounds fun, I tag you as well! :D
JW Anderson, the Challengers costume designer, releasing a collection inspired by Roger Federer, is so obviously meant to be part of Challengers promo that can’t happen and i’m literally 😭💔
I didn't get as much done as I wanted to, but I'd say it was a succesful day none the less. I got to spend some quality time with a friend and that's worth a lot to me.
For all that it's worth, I'm actually really excited for studying tomorrow. I'm making progress on the witch hunt revision and it's starting to be fun. Hopefully I'll finish my summary of the slides tomorrow.
Positive things I did today:
cooked a balanced meal
continued history of witch hunts revision
kept the duolingo Spanish streak going (very last minute tho)
handed some books in at the library
spent time with a friend
watched a movie (Schatten in meinen Augen / The Bombardment on Netflix; very sad)
[77] Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022)
Directed by Sam Raimi
One of my favorite characters in the MCU, he has something unique about it, that stands out, maybe it's because he is sort of an asshole, and his morality stands on a thin line, he wants to do good, but how far is he willing to go for that?
This movie is entirely about that and while it does open many questions and possibilities, it does a good job of establishing that things are not always clean-cut, or even easy.
For those who don't follow me on Insta, a friend suggested a challenge based on some poster she found, but everything on it were movies I had already seen. You know, your Friday the 13th, Dawn of the Dead, The Conjuring. So to spice things up, here is the challenge:
1. 100 horror movies you've never seen before.
2. No sequels, prequels, or remakes of movies you have seen before or watch for the challenge.
3. The exception to the rule is in theater releases. (If you're going out, treat yourself)
4. It doesn't matter how you watch it. (streaming, physical, YouTube, etc. Whatever you have accessible.)
5. You can skip days or double up on movies, just so long as 100 are watched within the time frame.
6. Preferably over 40+ minutes. There are some wonderful short films and specials that shouldn't go overlooked, but nothing too short.
7. Horror shows do not count toward the challenge. However, if it is like a made for TV halloween/horror special, very prominent in children's media, that is fine.
8. This is a challenge based on your viewing history, preferences, and accessibility. The rules are yours to change or discard entirely. Whatever works for you!
The rules are very simple, but the possibilities are endless! If there are classics you've just never got around to or you want to expand your knowledge of a subgenre you rarely explore, this is a great time to explore.
Helpful tools and ideas!
1. TUBI (free with ads streaming service): It's free with a remarkably huge library of popular, obscure, and international movies. If you want to just pop something on, it's super easy to find something random. Tubi is not very curated, so if you want something more specific, make sure you decide on a movie beforehand.
2. IMDB PARENTAL GUIDE/DOES THE DOG DIE? (content warnings services): If there are hard NOs for watching a horror movie, or you prefer to be prepared, these seem to be the most reliable and in-depth for warnings.
3. Tumblr, Letterbox, and Wikipedia are great places to get ideas for what to watch. There are many horror blogs that have daily movies, lists, and gifsets. Letterbox has a lot of curated lists if you're looking for a certain subgenre or vibe. Wikipedia has lists of movies by year, decade, genre, country, etc. There are plenty of other spaces to get inspiration as well, all depending on your interests.
I have been recording my movies via Instagram stories, but I will be starting to document my journey here as well. If you decide to join in, I'd love to see what you are watching!
Whenever I feel down about 'only' being able to write fluff and more lighthearted stuff I think of the movies I've watched over and over and over, the movies that mean so much to me, that are ingrained in me, and most of those aren't ~deep~ or whatever, you know? But they still have meaning to me
