1. “Praise God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is so good, and by raising Jesus from death, he has given us new life and a hope that lives on.” —1 Peter 1:3 (CEV)
“Celebrate with praises the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has shown us his extravagant mercy. For his fountain of mercy has given us a new life—we are reborn to experience a living, energetic hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.” —1 Peter 1:3 (TPT)
3. “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.
In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.
Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls.” —1 Peter 1:3‭-‬9 (NIV)

Remembrance
Maundy Thursday! What was it like to be with Jesus at the Last Supper and what relevance does it have for us today? Do you Remember? Think On This Today! God bless ya.
As they ate, Jesus took the bread and blessed it and broke it and gave it to his disciples. He said to them, “This is my body. Eat it.” Then taking the cup of wine, he gave thanks to the Father, he entered into covenant with them, saying, “This is my blood. Each of you must drink it in fulfillment of the covenant. For this is the blood that seals the new covenant. It will be poured out for many…

Blessed be God - Why Praise Him? | Reflection on 1 Peter 1:3
In the intimate spaces of our faith journey, the echo of 1 Peter 1:3, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,” serves not just as a distant call but as a personal invitation to enter a space of deep and meaningful praise. This is not praise born out of ritual or obligation, but a heartfelt response to the overwhelming realization of God’s goodness and mercy in our lives. It’s a…

Eternal Assurance: Trusting in Christ Alone
Back in the early 90’s I faced a crisis as I held to a works-based salvation and constantly lived in fear of my eternal destiny. I had no assurance of my salvation because I never knew if I’d performed enough good works to validate my salvation. It was a terrible place to be. The solution came when I began to study the Scriptures carefully, stopped looking at myself, and fixed my “eyes on Jesus,…

Christ, Your Living Hope by Julie Arduini
I love a good Bible study. Recently I finished Rebekah Lyon’s Building a Resilient Life: How Adversity Awakens Strength, Hope and Meaning. I knew God still had layers to lovingly unveil in my healing journey, and I loved this book covered the emotional fallout from the pandemic. What I didn’t expect was for God to take me back to childhood. He pointed out places where I carried pain. Through the…

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.” —1 Peter 1:3 (NIV)
“What does 1 Peter 1:3 mean?” By Bibleref.com:
“Peter shows us an appropriate response to God's great mercy to us: praise. Specifically, he blesses God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is one being, in three persons. Peter's letter will reveal some of the distinctions between Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. In this case, he praises the Father while acknowledging Christ as our Lord.
Peter blesses God for His mercy. As we have seen already in verse 2, God has chosen us, sanctifies us, and gives us great purpose. All of this happens without our ever needing to earn any recognition from Him. This is "grace," which is when someone gives something positive the other person does not deserve. "Mercy" is when someone withholds a negative consequence another deserves.
Instead of the punishment we deserve, God gave us something we could never have purchased or earned: He caused us to be born again. This is the very thing Jesus told Nicodemus must happen for anyone to see the kingdom of God (John 3). Specifically, God caused us to be born again into a living hope, through the resurrection of Jesus from the dead.
It's one thing to hope we will be saved, to yearn for life after death. Jesus proved that this hope is not a fantasy. He died, then showed Himself alive to many witnesses. Our faith is not a wish for a better world. The reason for our hope in an eternity with the Father is that our Lord is alive. Because He lives, those who believe in Him will also be resurrected. Bless God for His great mercy!
Context Summary: 1 Peter 1:3–12 is one of the most loved passages in all of Scripture. It begins as a blessing to God, but also describes how incredibly He has blessed us in Christ. Because Jesus has risen from the dead, our hope is not a wish—it is as alive as He is. Our inheritance as God’s children is eternal, full of glory, and secured forever. Even in our suffering, we have every reason to rejoice. The mystery of God’s plan has been revealed to us in Christ. We are being saved!
Chapter Context: Peter, the apostle of Jesus, writes a letter to Christians facing persecution to comfort them with the truth of who they are in Christ—children of God with every reason to rejoice in their salvation and future glory in eternity. Next, he urges them to live like the holy ones of God they already are by obeying God now, loving each other earnestly, and placing all of their hope in the endless life to come.”

A Reminder of the Blessings We Receive From Our Father -- Jon Mitchell, Editor (Editorial: January/February, 2023)
Study 1 Peter 1:3.  The apostle praises our Father in heaven for blessings which he has given to every Christian, blessings such as “caus(ing) us to be born again” (cf. v. 23).  Jesus spoke of being born again of water and the Spirit as necessary to enter God’s kingdom (John 3:3-5), a clear reference to baptism into Christ (Gal. 3:26-27; Mk. 16:16; Acts 2:38; 22:16).  The salvation Peter later…
