House Hunting:

We saw our old house up for rent today so we set an appointment to check it out, and it brought back sooooo many memories.

But everything looked SO MUCH SMALLER TO US FOR SOME REASON. My room looked minuscule, I have no idea how a full bed PLUS a small nightstand, PLUS a dresser fit in there, wth.

I couldn’t help but look out my window and smile as I saw the shed. I just thought of Romyr standing on it and reaching up haha, made me 🥰. Funny bc right when I looked out, there was John 😂 “OH HI JOHN!” Memories of a lot of firsts came back as well. Made me smile, cringe, have a feelings of melancholy, disappointment, regret, but overall, mostly gratitude.

Then I went to Axel’s and Kuya’s room and certain memories my brain blocked out came back and I just... cringed to some LOL especially in my parents’ room... I was like yo. The bathroom. And I totally forgot there were 2 closets in there. AND IDEK HOW WE FIT A WHOLE COMPUTER TABLE UNDER THE STAIRS BC I TRIED TO SIT AND BARELY FIT. LIKE HOW DID WE FIT UNDER HERE WITH A CHAIR AND COMPUTER TABLE?! IS IT BC WE WERE SMALLER BACK THEN?!

Crazy how literally everything was different (except for the living room floor that we did) and how much nicer yet smaller everything looked. Idk. It was a trip going back inside. Funny how I used to think that house was big/decent sized. When Day talked about how big our house is now I’m just like...you think our house is big? Huuuuh? But it actually kinda is haha. Spacious backyard, plus the sun room. Plus the garage, AND the parking space outside. We just have a lot of stuff 😂

But man. Today was just...wow. I felt so many things.

Last night finished Book Four of The Nature of Things. This section so far exists as my favorite, Lucretius falling into the topics of dreams and psychology of love— I’ve had to highlight every line, grouping subtopics within subtopics. I swear he was on coffee when this portion was composed:

“to the extent that each breed of animals is wilder, / the more it is necessary for them to vent in their sleep. / But diverse creatures of the air take to flight and all at once with their wings / break the silence of the groves of the gods at nighttime, / if in their light sleep hawks to offer / battles and fights as they fly and pursue them eagerly” (4.1005-1010).
