PARENTS WEEKEND EVENT || JUNE 1978 [THE ROAD TO GRADUATION #001]

As the war outside Hogwarts castle rages on, a happier moment approaches inside its stone walls; graduation day.

Families are still feeling the fear and apprehension even as the seventh years prepare for the culmination of their magical educational career. In an act of good faith and empathy, Albus Dumbledore has decided to open the gates of Hogwarts a few days earlier than usual for the ceremonies. Families and friends who were already planning to storm the castle lawns on Saturday for a day of celebration and hat-throwing are now being encouraged to travel down on Thursday - to attend the highly-contested Quidditch Cup match and spend the long weekend with their soon-to-be grads or their student children who are enjoying the last few days of school.

Don’t worry, students; you’ll still have Sunday to yourselves, as all families and friends will be ushered home after the ceremony. Hogwarts’ all-night parties for the senior class are legendary, after all.

ADMIN NOTE: This post covers only the family portion of the long weekend leading up to graduation ceremonies. Separate event posts will be doled out for each event (see list below). So fear not! We aren’t being thrown out of Hogwarts by our collars just yet. There is also some tasty Order recruitment on the horizon that will be cloaked by more mundane exit interviews for graduating students.

WHAT’S HAPPENING?

WHO: Everyone’s parents have been invited for the Quidditch Cup and graduation ceremony including, as is becoming a new forward-thinking tradition, muggles and non-alumni. This is still considered a controversial decision, especially since it involves temporarily lowering the protective measures around the school to allow muggles inside, and people who’ve attended other wizarding schools traditionally were kept away from the Scottish institution.

The school has been battling much more important problems in recent years, however, and Dumbledore is resolute that there are bigger fish to fry and that families should be united as much as possible during these darkening times.

WHERE: See list of rules for parents and other visitors below.

WHEN: The parents are invited for a long weekend at the castle, ending with the graduation ceremony for the seventh years. Pacing-wise, this would be a Thursday afternoon to Saturday evening–– but extra days have been allowed for starters because we know real life happens.

RULES FOR PARENTS/VISITORS

This will be only the THIRD ANNUAL occurrence of this event, prompted by the war and the concerns for student safety expressed by many families. Muggle family members who are coming for the weekend may have never seen the castle before, or it’s still relatively new to them.

The parents and siblings of students shall be provided with specially charmed one-bedroom rooms, or are allowed to use the Headmaster’s floo network to enter and exit the castle from 9am-9pm.

Curfew still stands.

No one is allowed to leave school grounds by any means other than the floo network. Students may not leave with their parents.

Parents and siblings will be allowed to dine with their student as well as have access to the Quidditch Pitch, Green house, gardens, etc. so long as exams are finished and preparation for the Quidditch Cup will not be hindered.

Parents may not enter common rooms unless they graduated from that common room.

Parents weekend is a time to celebrate family, and especially to celebrate the seventh years. Let’s hope it is an enjoyable one.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE

The masterlist of parent and sibling FCs can be found here. Feel free to, if you have not done so already, send your choices to the main–– it’s not too late to decide you want in!

All starters must be posted between now on, Friday, May 1st 29th and 11:59 P.M. EST on Friday, May 8th.

You can write as your character, your character’s parent(s), or your character’s sibling(s), etc. and post starters as them! This is an amazing time to trot out some of your NPCs and give a background to your characters’ home life and their background.

Players are strongly encouraged to both post starters and hop on the starters of others.

Remember, for some characters this is the FIRST TIME that their muggle family will be in the castle (or only the second) so they’ll be overwhelmed or still getting used to the place; on the other hand, all of the pureblood crew have known each other for years and years and will know whose parents they’re running into if they’re in the same social circle.

You are NOT required to have your character’s parent(s) come. You’re also welcome to “say” that they’re in the castle but not play as them and only interact with other visitors or students. Normal activity rules still apply, even if you aren’t participating in the event itself.

Gif chats, paras, self-paras, three-way conversations, etc. are all welcome

ooc. mic test. hello. anybody home ?? is this working ??

HI !!! i know, i know. some of you are either going, ‘ who tf is this potato ?? ’ or ‘ huh. didn’t know she was still alive. ’ or don’t care at all. but surprise !!! i am actually still alive.

i’m aware that it’s been about half a year, or maybe more, since the last time i have properly been here. and considering that i didn’t really post a hiatus notice, it just seems like i dropped off the face of the earth and would never be coming back. but to those who are wondering, bless your souls, you wonderful, caring people. i am still here. i do still lurk around, like some stuff, check out what’s been going on while i was gone.

basically, like always, i’ve just been very busy with work. nothing new, i know. but recently, in the past two months, i have been missing writing here. don’t get me wrong, i’ve never stopped writing and never really disconnected with my muse. i’ve mostly been on discord, mainly writing with @shewassoferal. and even sometimes opening a word document to write some back stories or simple paragraphs from prompts, all for grant ward.

but, like i said, i have been missing writing here. or even just being here in general. that being said, i am on the verge of a decision. this blog, as of today, is officially being REVAMPED. now, what happens after the revamp, what you will see after the revamp, i still have not decided yet. and if anyone would put their two cents in, i’d really, really, really appreciate it very much as it would help me make my decision.

there are three ways this could go, and here they are:

OPTION 001. i can revamp the page. remodel the theme, revisit my tags, update all the character pages, such as the verses, the biography page and whatnot, all to have a fresh feel to the blog in order to help this restart take off.

post-revamp will then include rechecking all the memes on my inbox and working on them. i am well aware i have maybe half a hundred various items in my inbox raging from random starters or memes sent by you guys that i owe you. basically, what happens after revamp is that i’ll have to drop the ongoing threads as just thinking about them is already pressuring me a lot. for those who have a running thread with me and would like to continue, please let me know and we can maybe start a new thread along that same timeline and plot line, so we can keep interacting. now all those open starters and memes that i have yet to respond to, i will write those. since i have not posted those before, they still have a pretty solid fresh feel to me, even though they’ve been there for about half a year. again, my apologies on that, you guys. you know i love you and i really appreciate the stuff you write for me. life has just been hard recently.

bottomline is that option one means i’ll do a sweep of old stuff, keep working on what feels new, and go back to what this blog was half a year ago, before my unannounced hiatus.

OPTION 002. this one entails that the blog will become a database blog. what does that mean ?? it means i’d revamp the whole page, complete all character pages that give information about the muse. update the verses, rules, bio, tag pages.

and with that completed, my roleplaying will be moved to discord. i’m not sure if you guys still write there, but i do. and if anyone wants to write with me there, we can. does that mean this blog will be dead ?? no. i would still be posting here. back stories, metas, gifsets and photosets will still be posted here. i will still be posting memes as well, and if we haven’t plotted or interacted before, you’re free to send a meme, so we can check the dynamic between our muses, and we can plot based off of that. and once it’s all fleshed out, i’d probably ask if we could move it over to discord. of course, you can say no. if it’s more advisable for you to be here, i can be here.

basically, this option just means that there will be less activity here than option one as most activity will be on discord.

OPTION 003. now, this one is a bit heavier. i do understand that it’s been a long time since i have been here. a lot of the people i used to interact with might have even left already. the muse hasn’t been on the show for three seasons now, and just fyi, i am no longer watching the show. apart from that, i know that there are, at least, a couple of other grant ward blogs that have remained active while i was gone. beautifully-written, beautifully-shaped grant ward muses that i hearteye every time i see on my dash. this means that my heart is at ease in the fact that the character is still getting the love and the understanding he deserves that, sadly enough, the show did not give him. i am at ease in the fact that there are still amazing writers out there that are lending voice to this character that we did not get to hear the real voice of in the show.

with that said, option three entails that this blog will no longer participate in roleplaying. does this mean this blog will die or be deleted ?? hell, no. i still love the muse and the character and the actor too much to do that. so what’s gonna happen is that there will be no roleplaying, but any metas, gifsets, photosets will still be posted here. considering that i also still have a lot of ideas in mind that i’d like to write in order to expand on grant’s PHOENIX verse ( which is his main verse, where he put up his fake hydra to destroy it from the inside and made it his own organization once hydra has been fully destroyed --------- all in the name of his definition of closure. for kara, and himself ) and depending on how things go, i might even put up a separate blog for PHOENIX. you guys have no idea how big that world has become in my head despite not getting to post about it much here. @shewassoferal can, once again, attest to that. you might see some fanfics being posted as well.

so, all in all, while i might say goodbye to the world of roleplaying on this blog, you still will not be saying goodbye to me permanently. awwww. i will still be around, and if you wanna write something together, maybe collab on something, i’m just here, you can let me know, and we’ll work it out.

that’s the dilemma i’m on right now. i have not decided which track this blog is going to take. mainly because while i want to go one way, i’m not sure if it’s even possible because, like i said, i do understand that i have been absent for a long time and people might not even want to write with me anymore. so i need your help in deciding. i need to know where this blog stands, and i need your assistance.

in case i don’t receive any response, the default will be the third option. but if you still want to write with me, and one of the first two options appeal to you, then you can let me know, and i’ll work on it right away.

each and every one of your opinions matter to me. so if there’s even just one person that chose either one of the first two options, the third one is already out of the running, which means i’ll be back. the decision between options 1 and 2 will then be decided based on how many people are willing to do it with me.

//ROLEPLAYING WITH ME!

——— so, you wanna play with me. good, because i’d like to write with you too fam. here’s a quick how-to guide for the folks who aren’t sure how to get started with me, because we all know that first contact can be a little intimidating, or just confusing, especially because i don’t post starter calls, which i realize is a little against the norm -- i also usually don’t like starter calls. i’m weird, i know it.

001 // OPEN POSTS!

i do actively post open posts, and try to often. once and open post is claimed, i remove it from my open posts listings, but rest assured a new one will appear shortly! generally i try and be vague with opens, at least mostly vague, and if you take it and need something softly changed, that’s not even remotely an issue, i’m more than happy to make adjustments so it works. open posts are for EVERYONE, even people i’m not following -- but with that said, i do reserve the right to not reply to a randomer if it just doesn’t make sense.

i will post short, lyric inspired, one liner, quick intro starters sometimes as well as the ones that i’ve got up. in addition, please remember that it’s totally a-ok for anyone that would logical know ambrose to act like they do. even if you’re an oc that would have a logic connection to him, it doesn’t bug me. the only thing i ask is that you don’t imply romantic or sexual relationships. das it.

002 // INBOX PROMPTS!

i post them all the time, and i really adore them. generally i’ll reply to them as a drabble, but if you would like it to be a starter, when you send it in just add in *starter* or something to let me know that you’d rather have it be a starter than a blurb. sometimes i’ll randomly make them a starter if i really like the way it sounds. if i did make it a blurb and you really like the way it sounds, feel free to continue it and tag me. this works for EVERYONE.

003 // TAG ME!

i do canon and au, and i’m always happy to do a thousand different posts in a million different timelines, it doesn’t fuss me at all. so if you come up with a great idea, and think it works for our characters, i’m absolutely fine with you just randomly tagging me and pulling me into a thread. this is for MUTUALS ONLY, because if i’m following you, then it means i’m interested in just about anything that you could possibly throw at me.

004 // MESSAGE/INBOX/DISCRD!

while i don’t roleplay via message, or messenger, i’m down to plot stuff out ( or just chat ) on any of these mediums. EVERYONE can add me, or just message/im via tumblr, and i’ll get back to you as soon as i can. DEADCRUSH#6949 || now i realize this is a difficult one for some people, particularly those with anxieties about first contact / rejection, antisocial disorders, etc. so look, i’m not saying come at me going roleplay with me, or that you have to throw ideas at me. you can just say hey what’s up, you tell tell me you’d like to roleplay but you don’t know what. we’ll figure it out my buds.

005 // REPLYING TO POSTS!

while normally i don’t do general starter calls, i do occasionally post specific starter calls in relation to ideas i have, inspiration i’ve seen, or other things like that. if you like or reply to one of these posts, i will set up a starter and tag you up in it. even if i post something inspiration-like, an idea, and don’t have it listed as “does anyone want to do this” -- well, if you want to do it, just tell me an i’ll be just as happy.

Welcome to Dream Drop ☁️

Welcome to Dream Drop! This is a new interactive kpop roleplay blog for you to roleplay with a plot and bias of your desire. I hadn’t seen any more roleplay blogs and really missed it so I thought “well why not?” and now here we are~ Now to the nitty gritty.

Types of talks that can be used whilst sending in a message to your bias :

1. only dialogue >> “hey (bias name), how are you?” etc

2. descriptive >> “ ‘hey (bias name),’ they smiled, ‘how are you?’ ” etc (can be more descriptive, i’m just giving a very simple example)

Please note that whichever choice you decide will be matched in the reply, if you only provide dialogue, so will your bias and so on. also note that the more descriptive the better – it definitely keeps me more entertained if im able to challenge my writing.

RULES

001. when sending in your message, please clarify who it is that you’re trying to RP with by putting their group and name before the dialogue. EX: (SVT Hoshi)

002. if you would like to keep the prompt going as in it’s a reoccurring interaction, add a nickname at the end of the dialogue. It can be an actual nickname or an emoji; up to you. Please make sure to avoid nicknames that coincide with or are the same as another RP.

003. messages will only be answered if they are sent through ask. there are no private/DM roleplays. those will be ignored.

004. for the time being, i am only accepting ONE ROLEPLAY per member of a group. so if someone had already requested Astro’s Jinjin, any other request to roleplay with him will be denied. If that member is opened again, someone else can request to start a new rp with him.

005. If you send in a request to roleplay with a certain member, you have three days to send in a starter. after the time frame, you lose your chance and have to choose a different muse.

006. i normally dont mind most plots and am willing to attempt to write any style but please try to make the prompt interesting. I love writing and love the mental stimulation but it it feels too stagnant the prompt will be ended. side note though, for the time being I’m avoiding major nsfw if it makes me uncomfortable or if that’s all the plot is about. Even then, no minors for anything nsfw.

008. if your prompt exceeds the word limit of one ask please add (½ .. 1/3 etc) at the end of your prompt so i am aware there is more for me to read and so I know when tumblr got hungry and ate asks again.
