Crowley peeks out of her little huddled nest, wrapped around a plush mothman and having been climbed by a giant spider, queen of the mountain.

It’s… a lamp? Odd gift to get suddenly. Her indoor plants haven’t been having any particular problems lately, and she hasn’t said much about them on her blog.

The light is… really nice though. She uncurls from her bundle, stretching out under the light. There’s still a bit of chill in the house, but this is an enormous help. Crowley practically melts across the couch with a deep sigh. She might just drowse here for a while. Zzz…

i do unironically think the best artists of our generation are posting to get 20 notes and 3 reblogs btw. that fanfic with like 45 kudos is some of the best stuff ever written. those OCs you carry around have some of the richest backstories and worldbuilding someone has ever seen. please do not think that reaching only a few people when you post means your art isn't worth celebrating.

#i often wonder about how many things would be considered classic or high art had they only received the marketing #how many short films that were made for class could have been the most powerful thing you'd ever seen? if you'd seen them?#“you know the greatest films of all time were never made” etc etc #but like. these works of art ARE being made. it's just enjoyed by a smaller audience with equal impact though #i think about this one furry i used to follow on insta who had the coolest worldbuilding ever. it's been years.#thought prompted by that sketch of nimona from ten years ago that was just for a character design #posted to the creator's tumblr and now it's nominated for best animated feature film at the oscars #and by the genuine emotional reaction a fan comic made me feel. how much work had gone into it. how beautiful it was to me.#idk what to tag this but i hope whoever needs to hear it does #writing #writer #fandom #fandom culture #artist

not to be controversial bc I know this is like…not in line with shifting opinions on fanfic comment culture but if there’s a glaring typo in my work I will NOT be offended by pointing it out. if ao3 fucks up the formatting…I will also not be offended by having this pointed out…

‘looking forward to the next update’ and ‘I hope you update soon!’ are different vibes than a demand, and should be read in good faith because a reader is finding their way to tell you how much they love it. I will not be mad at this.

‘I don’t usually like this ship but this fic made me feel something’ is also incredibly high praise. I’m not going to get mad at this.

even ‘I love this fic but I’m curious about why you made [x] choice’ is just another way a reader is engaging in and putting thought into your work.

I just feel like a lot of authors take any comment that’s not perfectly articulated glowing praise in the exact manner they’re hoping to receive it in bad faith.

fic engagement has been dropping across the board over the last several years, and yes it’s frustrating but it isn’t as though I can’t see how it happens. comment anxiety can be a real thing. the last thing anyone wants to do is offend an author they love, and that means sometimes people default to silence.

idk where I’m going with this I guess aside from saying unless a comment is outright attacking me I’m never going to get mad at it, and I think a lot of authors should feel the same way. ESPECIALLY TYPOS PLZ GOD POINT OUT MY TYPOS.

And then the next scene it shows that Vox didn't block shit and just recreated Alastor's radio on his TVs to rp himself doing literally anything to effect the situation meanwhile, in reality, nothing has actually changed.

Holiday Headcanons

I've been to a few office Christmas parties in the past, and a few get-togethers in Agartha for people that don't really have anywhere better to be.

They're... alright? They're better than spending the holidays alone, but not the same as spending them with people with people I actually know well.

And the office are fun and loud and great for shutting off for a while! But... I don't know. I don't know how much I can trust myself to behave around my coworkers or if I'd just be going to get myself fucked up and probably do something stupid.
