look okay i don't think there WAS a single moment where crowley fell in love with aziraphale. likewise i don't think there was a single moment when aziraphale REALIZED he was in love with crowley. i think aziraphale definitely fell in love in 1941 in the ruins of the church, and crowley definitely realized his feelings on the street with nina's help in 2022 (ish), but i don't actually believe the pervasive idea that crowley fell in love with aziraphale on the wall of eden. he was extremely impressed with him for it, yes, and MAYBE he developed a little crush on him then, but one moment like that isn't enough to fall in Love with a capital L. i think the whole thing about him believing everyone falls in love through being sheltered from rain is mostly because that's the first moment he really shared with aziraphale, the first moment he found someone he could trust- and that someone also happened to be the one he would later fall in love with.

conversely, by 1941, aziraphale has had time to get to know crowley a little, and now he sees that even after he's refused crowley's request for holy water, even after they haven't spoken in eighty years, crowley still comes running onto consecrated ground to save him from nazis. he'll still blow up a building to keep aziraphale safe and make sure his books are okay too while he's at it. this, i think, can 100% be called love. i don't think there was one day where he just realized it all at once, though- i think it built up in him gradually, unnoticed, just at the edges of aziraphale's conscious mind, until he was forced to finally acknowledge it straight out at the end of s2. he always knew on some level, i think. but there wasn't a day.

similarly, i think crowley's just been falling a little bit more in love with aziraphale here and there throughout the centuries. he never acknowledged it until nina pointed it out, of course, and that was the big "oh" moment for him, but i think it was a very progressive thing for him. the constant debate over "which fell first and which fell harder" seems entirely misguided to me in this case, because i don't think you can pinpoint at all when crowley fell (in the romantic sense, that is, not his literal fall), and i think it's pointless to guess which of them "fell harder", because like. that's entirely subjective, and anyway, i think they're both down pretty bad for each other. it wasn't a soft landing for either of them.

#good omens #ineffable husbands #anyway i don't get people who say aziraphale fell for him at the creation of the stars #like. he thought crowley was cute and talented and sweet and he was happy #when crowley seemed to call him gorgeous and disappointed when he realized he wasn't talking to him #but that's not Love TM! that's 'like' at best! you can't say that was the moment he fell #when we have the church scene. i'm sorry there's no contest

like 400 words of me rambling to myself about another hazbin oc

armadillo sinner demon, five eyes and four hands, slow and steady, not bothered by much. self-contained. defenses set to max. runs errands in hell. something of a freelance contractor who spends most of their time exploring hell. smokes, but only fun cigars. handyman who can fix most things. gender???? big and bulky. looks slower than they are.

jailbreaks a bunch of tech shit, does some magic because you do need to know it in hell. doesn't bother with most of the pagentry of hell because they're not really worried about it. just plans to enjoy the rest of eternity. what did they go to hell for? worked for drug runners and never went out their way to help anyone in life? worked for deeply unethical people just because the money was good, was an overall netural person but their effects on earth was bad. or something. ace sex positive?? they had no real relationships, a bit of a drifter who has no family. good with their hands but no formal education to speak of.

they died in 2018 so very recently dead, but found their footing in hell pretty easy. knows their way around a bunch of trades so it was easy enough to set themselves up as a relable handyman just by not cheating their clients.

meets alastor after the events of season one when he needs someone to fix his microphone? oc doesn't let al intimidate him, or anything. if he wants to kill them he can kill them, but then good luck getting ayone to fix his microphone. they don't do work for free. so they get two favors out of al in exchange for fixing the raidio and their silence.

husk is the one who knows oc??? they did some work for him in exchange for something??? i have no idea i just like husk lol. worked for the vees as a tech for a while and just quit because the spyware was bad and the tech was junky.

oh they have a lot of pride in their work! it's satisfying in a way that nothing else is so they care more about it than they do about anything else.

remembering a reddit nosleep story i read many years ago about a guy who was so deeply fascinated and overjoyed after realising that he got infected with several parasites and worms. he went on to spread on the joy with others by going to things like public buffets and eventually working as a cook and lacing the food with parasites/worm eggs/etc (started off with relatively harmless ones and then moved up the ladder) that story fucked me up HARD and if you’re now asking yourself ‘romeo why are you telling me this’ i think this affected me so much that it may have had a role in oleander’s creation in my subconscious many years later. like. he canonically feeds unknowing crusaders his flesh and other horrors. man 😬
