a/n: I wanted to do a fic like this for so long!!!! anyway, I just kept scouting tumblr trying to find fics like this, so I figured I’d finally write one myself :)
You do not have my permission to repost, copy or translate my work
 |——————————— ⴵ ———————————|
A quick in and out. That was your mission. How on earth did you manage to screw it up so bad. In and out. Assassinate the traitor and come right back.
Dreykov would’ve been so proud.
But that didn’t happen. No. Every single aspect about that night failed to go according to plan. You snuck into the event Stark had hosted, was able to blend in with the other party goers, and you were able to hide when most of the people started to leave.
Once it was just the Avengers left, you stayed in your hiding spot, observing them. You were here to kill Natasha Romanoff, and Natasha Romanoff only.
You could not afford any casualties, so you had it all planned out.
You’d wait until the Avengers would leave, and you’d take Natasha out before she could make it to her living quarters. You knew that once she made it to the living space of the Avengers tower, getting to her would be a lot harder.
However, against all odds, Natasha excused herself from the group quite early, saying she wanted to get a good nights sleep.
You internally cursed yourself, hating that this wasn’t something that you had planned for.
Around the couches were still some Avengers sat. You recognised all of them. Clint Barton shouldn’t be too much trouble. He was only a guy who’s good with a bow. For Maria Hill could be said the same thing, except she’s very skilled with a gun.
No, you were worried about the other Avengers still seated. Tony Stark could call upon his armour in mere seconds. Thor had the power of thunder for god’s sake. Wanda Maximoff has exceptional powers, and therefor, if you were to attack with her still in the room, you’d be immobilised in an instant.
You were fairly certain you didn’t need to worry much about Bruce Banner. Sure, he could turn into the Hulk, but he didn’t turn often, and lately, the Hulk hasn’t been spotted in the battlefield, meaning he probably had many trouble turning into him.
Pietro Maximoff shouldn’t bring you a lot of trouble either.
Your main concern were Bucky Barnes and Steve Rogers. One Super Soldier you could handle, but two? While fighting the rest of the Avengers? That wasn’t going to work.
Lucky for you, Wanda Maximoff had excused herself from the gathering a while ago. If you didn’t make to much noise, she wouldn’t be much of a problem. You could be outside before she’d even make it to the party deck.
Your original plan was to just wait. Natasha Romanoff would have usually sat through a party until far into the evening. You’d know, you’ve been watching her for weeks.
However, now that Romanoff has announced she was returning to her bedroom, a slight panic ran through your body.
Dreykov gave your 5 weeks to finish this assignment. That’s longer than any assignment you’d ever been on. You could not disappoint him with this. You had to kill the traitor.
You figured now was your only chance, and so, as Natasha Romanoff made her way towards the elevator, you followed her.
However, not even to your surprise, she stopped in the middle of the hallway.
“You know I’m an assassin, too? You’re good, but you’re not un noticeable,” she states, calmly turning around, being met with a gun to your face. The moment she stopped, you were wise enough to draw your gun, holding her at gunpoint for any sudden movements.
You could see a slight surprise appear on her face, before her face returned to her poker face once again.
“You’re just a child…” Natasha spoke slowly, seeming almost disappointed.
“You’re a traitor,” you spoke, loading the gun, taking a step closer. Natasha simply shook her head. “I’m sorry,” she spoke, before leaping towards you. You shot your gun, but Natasha was too fast, avoiding your gunfire as she ran past you, back to the other Avengers.
How on earth could you have missed that shot? She was right there.
Pathetic.
You don’t hesitate to run after her, determined to finish this tonight.
Very much not to your surprise, the moment you run back into the party hall, the Avengers are already standing up and ready. Ready to fight you.
You don’t hesitate to move forwards, and after fighting Clint Barton for mere seconds, you quickly realise they have no intention of hurting you. You could use that to your advantage, and you do.
You kick Barton hard, leaving him on the floor, heaving for air as you move forward, taking on Maria.
However, the moment you get close to Maria, two strong arms wrap around your body, pulling you back. They’re holding you tightly, and it doesn’t feel like they’re planning to let go.
You struggle in the hold, fighting against who ever is holding you as you try to break free. A small panic runs through your body. The fear of being captured by the Avengers taking place in your mind. You do not fear the Avengers, but the thought of being seen as a traitor by Dreykov hurts your heart more than words could describe.
“Stop struggling. We can help you,” you hear a voice behind you speak, and you soon come to realise the person you’re fighting is Captain America himself.
No wonder you couldn’t get loose.
Knowing it’s a Super Soldier, you’re quick to outsmart him, making him think you’re getting tired, relaxing your body is his hold. Because of this, the Captain lightens his grip a bit, giving you enough room to wiggle your arm free, moving it backwards to hit him in the face with your elbow.
Because of the surprise, he lets you go, allowing you to stand again.
The moment your feet hit the ground, you dash forward, holding up your knife as you use everyone’s shock to your advantage.
Everyone is surprised by your capability of escaping Steve’s grasp, not realising your already moving towards Natasha again. You reach her quickly, stabbing your knife into her stomach as far as it can go.
Natasha gasps, and you pull the knife out, watching as all the blood starts to seep from her stomach.
Slowly, Natasha sinks to the ground, Maria catching her, helping her down.
You move towards Natasha again, determined to get the job finished, but are quickly stopped by another pair of arms wrapping around your waist. You immediately recognise the metal arm, knowing that the Winter Soldier holds you in his grasp. You can’t escape him. You never have.
He pulls you backwards, pushing you to the ground as he tries to punch you. However, you regain yourself quickly, rolling away from under him and kicking him in the face.
Suddenly, you’re moved across the room. You forgot the damn speedster…
You raise your knife quickly, stabbing him before he has a chance to make another move.
“PIETRO!” you hear a voice yell, and you turn your head to the right. Shit. Wanda Maximoff must have heard the commotion and went down to take a look. You have to get out of there. You will never win a fight with her.
You move quickly, running towards the stairs. However, before you could reach them, you felt a stabbing pain in your left shoulder, the sound of a gun shot following soon after. You had been shot. Bucky Barnes had shot you in an attempt to slow you down.
But you didn’t let it.
Instead, you went towards the stairs a little quicker, dashing down the hundreds of flights of stairs to get to the main floor.
Of course, all SHIELD agents on the main floor were already expecting you, and you were followed by Steve Rogers, but you were quicker than him. You knew that.
You dashed past all the SHIELD agents, avoiding their gun fire as you made it towards an emergency exit.
The moment you stepped outside, you started your escape route. You already planned it, knowing exactly which way to go, no matter which way you would exit.
Steve followed you outside, but the moment he set foot outside the door, you were gone. You had disappeared into the night, leaving no trace.
-------------------------------------------------------------
Back in the Avengers tower, the team was recovering from your attack. Natasha was in bad shape. Your strike had been an attempt to murder her, and you didn’t miss any organs as you pierced your blade through her abdomen.
Pietro was much better. He was back on his feet quickly, seeing as though you stabbing him hadn’t been a murder attempt. You merely wanted to distract him.
It didn’t take long for Natasha to get back on her feet either, even though she was advised to stay on bed rest after the surgery.
Natasha was determined to find you, and she quickly got to work.
Even though you had made it out of the Avengers tower quickly, you were still hurt, and some of you blood had fallen on the floor as you made your escape towards the stairs. Clint and Maria had collected that blood, running multiple tests, only to find out you were not registered anywhere.
There was no record of your existence. Were you just another ghost story?
What they did find were traces of the Super Soldier serum. However, they were modified, almost as if they were genetically a part of your system.
Did that mean you were just another Hydra experiment? Natasha did hear you calling her a traitor. That had to mean you knew Dreykov, right? Who else viewed her as a traitor. I would make sense. Sending a modified teenage assassin after her, knowing Natasha was above killing children.
Even in the Red Room, she always hesitated when sparring against the younger students.
Dreykov must have had a lot of faith in you to send you after her. Natasha can only hope you’re not a graduate yet…
-------------------------------------------------------------
After the incident in the Avengers tower, you had fled to Germany. You figured it was best to leave the United States completely. And why would they ever search for you in Germany?
You had rented an apartment, loving the small town you had chosen. Dreykov had given you 5 weeks to finish the assignment, and now, you had only 1 week left. There is now way that you’re going to succeed in killing Natasha within the week.
They know you are after her now, and they will be prepared for you to make a return. You screwed it up.
Sloppy.
Right now, you were just heading back to your apartment. You had taken a walk, deciding to make the most out of the freedom you had in the moment. The week would be over soon, and the moment Dreykov would send for your return you are certain you will not be seeing daylight any time soon.
After you arrived in the apartment building, you instantly felt watched.
Had the Avengers found you?
You made your way up to your apartment, pushing the key into the lock and walking through the small hallway. Someone was in here, you could feel it.
You walked into the kitchen, grabbing a glass and filling it with water, keeping your back towards the living room.
“There are not a lot of places to hide in this apartment,” you spoke aloud into the emptiness of the apartment. Soon you heard a set of footsteps, and you felt another presence enter the room.
“You’re very skilled for your age,” you heard a voice behind you say, and you immediately recognised it as Natasha’s.
“And you are stronger than you look. I mean, even for you, I didn’t expect you to be on your feet so quickly,” you stated, turning around slowly. Natasha wasn’t holding a weapon in your face, something you were definitely expecting.
You scanned her quickly, seeing the weapons she held on her belt.
She didn’t come unarmed. Good. She’d be stupid to.
“I don’t mean you any harm,” Natasha said, taking a small step forward as she held her hands in the air, showing you her every movement.
You didn’t look impressed, instead just staring at her as she moved.
“Then you are a fool,” you told her, and you spotted a small smirk flashing over Natasha’s face. “And you are very full of yourself,” she said, moving towards the kitchen island, leaning on it.
“I can’t say I blame you. You took on a lot of the Avengers on your own. Even two Super Soldiers. That’s impressive,” she stated, giving you a small smile. You didn’t return it.
“What? Jealous someone better took your place when you betrayed us,” you asked Natasha, determined to get on her nerves.
Natasha’s smile dropped quickly.
“Quite the opposite, actually. I hoped no one would ever have to go through it again,” she told you, a hint of regret almost identifiable in her expression. Now it was your time to give her a small smile.
“You think you’re so important that everything should’ve ended with you?” you asked her, moving towards the kitchen island as well, setting your glass down, still holding onto it.
Natasha shook her head.
“What I am curious about, however, is the genetic Super Soldier serum that runs through your DNA,” Natasha paused, adjusting her stance before speaking again. “Tell me, was your dad a Super Soldier?”
You let out a huff of amusement, surprising Natasha.
“You think I believe you’re just here for a conversation? There are SHIELD agents placed on every corner of every street. Don’t think I didn’t notice it. The lovely young couple, drinking coffee at the restaurant downstairs? Amazing disguise, if you were trying to trick nine year olds,” you stated, finishing your glass of water.
Natasha smiles, clearly impressed with your observations.
“You’re right. I’m not here for just a conversation, although I do hope we can prevent violence,” Natasha started, but before she could continue you interrupted her.
“You’re here to bring me in.”
Natasha nodded, and the look on her face was almost apologetic.
“No one needs to get hurt. If you just come with me, there’s a big chance you could avoid confinement,” Natasha explained, yet you just scoffed and shook your head.
“Avoid confinement? Yeah right. There is no way, that after what I have done, your people won’t lock me away.”
“I can be very persuasive,” Natasha simply replied.
There was a small silence. Natasha knew you were debating your options. You didn’t seem like a brainwashed sheep. She knew that you knew better than trusting Dreykov’s lies. Sure, you still believed she was a traitor, but there is no way that you didn’t see that what Dreykov is doing is wrong.
“You know going back after a failed mission will result in punishment,” Natasha started, trying to get through to you. Trying to give you that little push you needed to go with her. “If you go with me, you’ll never be punished like that ever again,” she finished.
You looked up, deep in thought.
“How could you be so sure?” you asked her, and Natasha didn’t hesitate to respond.
“We can keep you safe-”
“I found you. I nearly killed you. Who’s to say some other Widow won’t come after me as well?” you replied, and Natasha gave you another small smile.
“I escaped the Red Room when I was 20,” Natasha started. “It took him 12 years to send someone after me. We will make sure we’ll take him down before he even has the chance to come after you.”
“How many times, did you try to kill him, exactly? Because I believe you attempted his murder twice already, both of which you failed. You blew him up in Budapest, and then another time when you took the air facility down. Do you honestly think you’ll succeed now?”
Natasha shook her head, seemingly recollecting her thoughts.
“I failed twice, and that was sloppy, but both times I didn’t have the Avengers on my side. You ran the moment you saw Wanda. You know what she is capable of. Taking down the Red Room for good shouldn’t be too difficult with the Avengers on our side,” Natasha explained, yet you just shook your head.
“I’m not like you,” you told her, yet Natasha just looked at you in confusion.
“I’m not some disposable widow like you were. I’m more important,” you explained, and Natasha gave you a sad smile.
“Everyone is just a disposable widow to him,” she started, but you interrupted her.
“I’m not. You tested my blood. You know I carry the Super Soldier serum. I’m not just some girl he picked up from the streets,” you explained, and Natasha gave you a small nod, encouraging to keep going.
“I can’t explain it, but he won’t just let me walk. He put too much time in my creation. He would never just let it go to waste,” you finished, looking down, avoiding Natasha’s gaze as you turned around, putting your glass by the sink.
“We’ll help you. I know that we can,” Natasha tried.
“Is it worth the risk? My life is not great, but it’s not terrible either. Dreykov values me, and I am not treated like a piece of meat, unlike you might suspect.”
“So the punishment is worth it, then? Knowing that in three days time, Dreykov will have you be recollected, and once you return to the Red Room, you’ll be punished severely for a failed mission,” Natasha paused, allowing you to let her words sink in.
“Or, in three days time, you could know you can go to bed without worrying about someone joining. You could know you can be safe, and sleep through the night without anyone disrupting you. Knowing that, is the choice really that hard?” Natasha finished, and you were almost at your breaking point.
Was it worth it? Was going back the best decision? Dreykov would hurt you, you knew that, but you deserved it. Didn’t you?
“Please, just come with me. We can help,” Natasha spoke, nearly begged.
You sighed deeply.
“Fine, but if you put me in a cell, I will go on a murder streak,” you told her, and Natasha let out a chuckle, before seeing your facial expression, and realising you were dead serious.
“Duly noted,” Natasha said, before motioning you towards the door.
What had you done…

Unoriginal Writing VS Field Trips
A lot of writers worry that their ideas have been done before or rely too much on existing scenarios. And you absolutely do need to be original if you want to write your own book that you intend to publish professionally. But a lot of writers can also take this the other way and start worrying that every single idea they have, no matter how fleshed out and unique it actually is, is just a version of a very broad and generic trope, and so it’s automatically bad and nobody will ever want to read it since it’s all been done before
Let me tell you about what has been dubbed the Peter Parker Field Trip in the fanfic scene
The Peter Parker Field Trip is an incredibly specific type of one-shot fanfiction about Peter Parker visiting Avengers Tower with his class on a school field trip while having to try and hide his status as the Avenger Spider-Man, usually along with hiding the fact that he’s basically been adopted by the Avengers and they all treat each other as family, if not legally having been adopted by Tony. And this is only the summary, it gets way more specific from here to the point where you can follow each story beat by beat and the vast majority of these fics will follow them:
1. Peter discovers that the adults arranged for him to go on the trip despite trying to get out it/telling them not to sign the permission forms. Peter tries to talk his way out of it on the way but fails. Sometimes the teacher will discourage him from lying about having a Stark Internship while they’re there
2. While they’re on the bus Flash teases Peter about how now everyone’s gonna know he doesn’t actually have a Stark Internship, meanwhile Peter’s freaking out about everyone realising he’s more than just an intern
3. The kids arrive at Avengers Tower and pile out of the bus to be greeted by some of not all of the Avengers, usually with Steve and/or Tony leading the introductions. Peter tries to keep his head down but the Avengers either spot him or were actively looking out for him, but at this point they usually don’t acknowledge him too much
4. An actual intern hands out access passes to the kids, everyone has level one clearance except for Peter who has Level Ten Alpha Clearance™️, which is even higher than most of the other Avengers and is reserved for Tony and those closest to him. Peter asks if he can just get a regular pass like the others but the intern says they don’t have any extras, usually while being starstruck at meeting Peter
5. The kids go through a security scanner, through which Jarvis announces their security clearance. Peter has his Level Ten Alpha Clearance™️ broadcast to the entire class, leaving everyone shocked. Flash thinks Peter, resident Poor Kid McOrphanface, bribed Tony Stark, known billionaire, for higher clearance
6. The tour goes ahead. They meet Bruce either in his lab or the medical bay. Bruce has a pleasant chat with Peter, who quickly helps him with something while he’s there. People are shocked that Peter works with Bruce on science stuff
7. The tour goes ahead. They meet Natasha in the training room. She offers to give a demonstration and has Peter come up to fight her. The class are shocked when he doesn’t get instantly thrown on his ass, even though overall it usually ends with him on his ass
8. The tour goes ahead. They meet Thor either on the landing pad as he arrives back home or he’s in the kitchen making an absolute mountain of pop tarts. He’s the one that comes closest to leaking Peter’s Spider-Man identity because he has no social awareness and just wants to wrap the Man of Spiders in a bear hug
9. The class break for lunch. There’s an ungodly amount of coffee machines in the cafeteria. Everyone is talking about Peter. Flash is talking shit. Clint then proceeds to drop out of the vents to ask Peter about either Mario Kart or babysitting his kids, potentially both. Clint then realises the tour was today, apologises and goes back into the vents. Peter can’t even muster up the energy to be embarrassed
10. As the tour continues, Flash is getting more vocal about his dislike for all this. There’s a 50/50 chance he’s going to get physically violent with Peter. If he doesn’t, he’ll ask Tony Stark why he’s let Peter lie about all this stuff only to be told harshly that Peter is Tony’s kid or something similar. The bullying will be discovered and Flash will be kicked out. If he does get violent with Peter, one of the Avengers will stop him, Tony will defend Peter while revealing that Peter is his kid or something similar in the process, then will kick Flash out
I just described to you an ungodly number of fics beat by beat. And people don’t just read one of them and call it a day; we consume each and every one of them despite knowing the exact plot and having read it a gazillion times
And I think that these fics are the most obvious example of the fact that people don’t care about the repeated use of tropes or clichés or plotlines; if they like it, they’ll like it. They’ll be willing to read those tropes a million times over, even if they know what’ll happen at every turn. And that proves that it’s not the use of tropes that matters, it’s the way you use the tropes. Even if it’s just a new way of wording it, people will enjoy it. It doesn’t have to be completely new or original, it just has to be out there

Portal to My Heart (Book 1) Alternate Chapter Six
Loki x Reader
Alternate Chapter Six: Into the Original Timeline
Summary: What if instead of escaping the timeline and becoming variants, (Y/N) and Loki continued on their path in the original timeline?
Author's Note: Welcome to my Alternate (or really Original) Timeline Loki x Reader. I'm going to start a book that follows the original Thor: Dark World, Thor: Ragnarok, and Avengers Infinity War timeline of the Marvel universe to show what would have happened between Loki and the MC if they hadn't gone to the TVA and such. Fair warning, as my Book 2 showed, it will not have a happy ending, so just know you're not going to be necessarily satisfied. But we have the LOKI series to keep the romance going! And now, without further ado, what could/would have been:
(Y/N) could hear the fight continuing outside. She could see Chitauri and their strange tank creatures flying by. She could see flames and smoke from destroyed buildings. She hated to think about the lives lost in the battle. (Y/N) sighed. She hoped it would be over soon with the “Avengers” the victors.
Suddenly, the sky outside went dark. Storm clouds rolled in. Lightning crackled above. Then, lightning crackled down the Empire State Building. It was then redirected, undoubtedly by Thor, over Stark Tower. (Y/N) guessed it was probably to hit the Chitauri coming out from the portal.
After that, relatively clear skies returned. Screams and explosions were all (Y/N) could hear. She despised it, but there was no safe way of getting down from the tower, nor could she really help. So, she decided to have a little bit of fun during the possible end of the world. Stark’s bar was pretty out of the way, so (Y/N) sat down behind it so people couldn’t see here and had a drink.
Cheers to the end of the world, thought (Y/N), toasting to herself. She was alone with her thoughts. They were clouded with thoughts of Loki. She was curious about what he was really like, beyond whatever was controlling him. (Y/N) had felt how the scepter wanted to influence her, whispering without words about how much power and revenge it could bring her, magnifying her negative feelings. She wondered how much of what he was doing was him, and how much was the scepter. Loki possessed it for much longer than the minutes she held it. Who knew how much his mind was twisted? Granted, (Y/N) knew he definitely had some mischievous tendencies and loved power, but she had seen some forms of kindness in him, although only briefly. She wanted to see more since he was very interesting.
Summoned by her thoughts, she heard a crash on the balcony outside. Peeking over the bar, she saw Loki standing up angrily. His helmet had been knocked off. He was about to attack when the Hulk slammed him through the remaining windows of Stark Tower’s top floor. (Y/N) winced at the force by which Loki hit the wall and then the floor. Hulk roared and approached the raven-haired man.
“Enough!” cried Loki furiously, standing up. “You are, all of you, beneath me! I am a god, you dull creature. And I will not be bullied by—.”
Hulk grabbed him by the ankle and smashed him repeatedly against the floor. Loki was left on his back in a dent in the ground, groaning.
“Puny god,” huffed Hulk as he left the building.
(Y/N) was deciding whether or not to come out. She watched first as Black Widow dropped down, grabbed the scepter, and left again quickly. She decided not to question it as the assassin was probably helping save the world. Bracing hers
Loki whimpered slightly from the pain.
(Y/N) was deciding whether or not to come out. She watched first as Black Widow dropped down, grabbed the scepter, and left again quickly. She decided not to question it as the assassin was probably helping save the world. Bracing herself slightly for what she would have to deal with, she finished her glass of wine. (Y/N) then grabbed a towel and a bottle of vodka. She walked calmly over to Loki.
“You look like how I feel,” she muttered.
Loki scowled at her. “Spare me your pity.”
(Y/N) rolled her eyes. “No worries, I’m not pitying the guy who’s started a war in New York.”
“Then what are you doing?” questioned Loki.
“You saved me from pain, so I’m saving you from some,” she answered. “Don’t tell anyone I did this, and I won’t tell anyone what you did.”
            “Very well,” said Loki.
(Y/N) poured the vodka onto the towel and began dabbing into onto the trickster’s forehead where many wounds were. He hissed slightly at the sensation, but (Y/N) continued. No words were spoken between them. Both were planning on never speaking about this. In fact, if Loki lost, which it very much seemed he would, they were probably never going to speak again in their lives. (Y/N) and Loki were both disappointed since they had found someone interesting that brought some excitement into life, but neither would admit that. So, they contented themselves with silence, resigning to push away the emotions that they didn’t like.
“There,” said (Y/N), finishing. She looked outside and saw Chitauri falling to the ground from where they had been flying. They all seemed to be “shutting off,” if living beings could do that. “It’s over.”
“I’ve lost,” said Loki, growling slightly.
“We did warn you,” said (Y/N), “And now you’re going to pay for your crimes. Have fun!” She stood and placed the alcohol bottle back in the bar.
Loki smirked up at her. “If there’s one thing you should remember of me, it is that I rarely allow others to determine my future.”
She turned back to him and nodded. “True, you did spend quite a bit of effort ridding yourself of the scepter’s control.”
“And as usual, my efforts yielded results,” said Loki.
“Well, I suppose I should congratulate you,” remarked (Y/N), smirking, “But I’m afraid you’re about to be rather disappointed.” She saw the Avengers landing on the balcony.
“Oh, joy,” said Loki sarcastically. He dragged himself up the stairs before turning around. He looked up at the group of heroes who were looking down at him threateningly. “If it’s all the same to you, I’ll have that drink now,” said Loki cheekily.
            The Avengers looked unamused.
(Y/N), on the other hand, snorted. “Good luck with that. Most of the bottles and glasses are destroyed.”
“All right, get him on his feet,” said Iron Man, “We can all stand around posing up a storm later.” He glanced back at Loki. “By the way, feel free to clean up.”
Loki’s hands were chained, and Thor stood by him so he couldn’t run off.
“Who gets the, uh, magic wand?” asked Romanoff.
“STRIKE team’s coming to secure it,” said Rogers.
SHIELD agents began to stream in. Some were doctors and walked over to (Y/N), but she waved them off. She had enough of people being all up in her business for today.
“We can take that off your hands,” said one agent to Black widow. (Y/N) thought his name might be Sitwell.
Black Widow handed it over, and Sitwell looked at it in awe.
“Don’t mess around with that thing,” advised (Y/N).
“Yeah, unless you want your mind erased,” said Barton, taking a drink he stole from the bar.
“And not in the fun way,” said (Y/N).
“We promise to be careful.” Sitwell placed the scepter in a silver case.
Captain America pressed his earpiece. “On my way down to coordinate search-and-rescue.”
Loki rolled his eyes and transformed into the Captain. “ ‘On my way down to coordinate search-and-rescue.’ ” He transformed back. “I mean, honestly, how do you keep your food down?”
Thor took out a small device that then expanded. It was a muzzle, which he then placed on Loki’s mouth. “Shut up.”
(Y/N) snickered at Loki’s face and followed everyone to the elevator. She just wanted to go home and sleep for days. Unfortunately, now she had to deal with being right next to Loki and a bunch of SHIELD agents.
Carrying a silver briefcase with the Tesseract in it, Stark was the last to get into the elevator after the SHIELD agents sent it back up. Behind him, Hulk attempted to get in.
            “Whoa, whoa, whoa,” said Thor.
“Hey, hey. Buddy!” said Stark. “What do you think? Maximum occupancy has been reached.”
The doors began to slide closed as Hulk growled.
            “Take the stairs,” advised Hawkeye.
            “Yeah,” said Stark.
            Hulk was getting annoyed.
If I have to deal with a brawl with the Hulk, I’m running away to a random island where none of this shit will bother me again, thought (Y/N).
“Stop, stop,” said Stark as Hulk raised a fist.
Too late. As the doors closed, Hulk dented them.
“Oh, come on,” said Stark, exasperated.
(Y/N) raised an eyebrow at the dent. “I would hate to get hit by that.”
Loki glared at her, but she just smiled innocently at him. The elevator dinged, and the doors slid open. They all walked out into Stark Tower’s lobby. Six armed guards remained on either side of Loki, and most of the other avoided being near him, but (Y/N) didn’t care. She was right in front of him while Stark and Thor walked farther up. They halted in front of some SHIELD higher-ups, including Mr. Pierce. (Y/N) found him as disgusting as every other government official, especially since he always looked out for himself more than the good of the people.
“Uh, may I ask you where you’re going?” questioned Pierce.
“Bit of lunch and then Asgard,” said Thor. “I’m sorry, you are…?”
“Alexander Pierce,” answered Stark, “He’s the man above the folks behind Nick Fury.”
            “Oh,” said Thor in realization.
“My friends call me Mr. Secretary,” said Pierce.
“More like Mr. Suspicious,” muttered (Y/N).
The guards to either side didn’t hear her, but Loki’s eyes crinkled in a smile that couldn’t be seen because of his muzzle.
“I’m going to have to ask you to turn that prisoner and the girl over to me,” said Pierce.
“Excuse me?” questioned (Y/N), crossing her arms and raising an eyebrow.
“We were recording as much as we could of Loki in Stark Tower. You gave off some strong energy similar to the Tesseract,” said Pierce.
            Shit, thought (Y/N), sighing.
Thor and Stark turned to her, and she shrugged casually. There was no point in denying what she’d done if there was proof.
“We are going to investigate what caused it,” said Pierce.
“By experimenting on me?” (Y/N) raised an eyebrow challengingly.
“You will just be participating in some tests,” replied Pierce.
Thor butted in. “Loki will be answering to Odin himself, and Asgard has knowledge beyond Earth’s. We would be able to help Lady (Y/N) there.”
“No, he’s going to answer to us. Odin can have what’s left. And she will be perfectly fine in our care,” said Pierce.
Care my ass. You’re going to turn me into a brainwashed weapon who will do all your dirty work.
Loki and (Y/N) simultaneously rolled their eyes.
“And I’m going to need that case,” said Pierce, glancing down at the Tesseract’s container. “That’s been SHIELD’s property for over seventy years.”
One of Pierce’s associates tried to take the case from Stark, who pushed him back.
“Hand over the case, Stark,” ordered Pierce.
Thor and Stark put up a hand to keep the government officials back.
“I’m not gonna argue who’s the higher authority here,” said Stark.
“I need the case,” enunciated Pierce.
“I know you’ve got a lot of pull, I’m just saying, jurisdiction…” said Stark.
“Okay, then give me the case,” said Pierce, becoming annoyed. He grabbed the case’s handle.
“Well, jurisdiction…” The billionaire tightened his hold, even as multiple agents tried to take it from him.
“Hand it over,” ordered an agent.
“Get your hands off me!” exclaimed Stark.
Before Pierce or Stark could further argue, Thor plucked the suitcase out of Stark’s hands. Everyone’s eyes went to the tall, muscular man.
“This will return to Asgard. My people will guard it properly,” said Thor.
No one was about to argue with the god.
“Fine.” The words came out sharply from Pierce, frustrated at having been thwarted but knowing he didn’t have the power at the moment to challenge Thor. He turned to (Y/N), and she narrowed her eyes. “So, you have your prisoner and your artifact. We’ll be leaving with Miss (Y/N) in order to discuss the strange power surges we sensed during the battle.”
No thanks, no way in Hell, thought (Y/N). And so she turned to Thor and smiled. “Actually, I’d like to learn what Asgard’s knowledge on such power is. They clearly have more experience than Earth does.”
Loki nearly snorted with laughter at how sickly-sweet (Y/N) was being. (Y/N) glared at him with a look that said “don’t-mess-this-up-this-is-my-ticket-out.”
Thor didn’t notice the exchanged and grinned. “What a fine idea, Lady (Y/N)! I’m glad you agree!” He smiled at Stark, Pierce, and the rest of the mortals. “Well, then, we’ll be heading off!”
“Do not do that disappearing-portal-thing in the middle of my building,” said Stark. “It’s been through enough already. Pepper’s gonna kill me about the remodeling costs.”
“The park is big enough,” said Captain America.
“Excellent!” Thor grabbed Loki and hauled him with him.
(Y/N) smirked at Pierce before following them out. She had no idea what she was about to step into, but if it meant getting out of Pierce and SHIELD’s control and having some autonomy, then (Y/N) was going to take the opportunity. She was going to find freedom.
(But seriously, did it have to involve god politics?)

Frozen Hearts
Paring: Loki x reader (eventually)
Warnings: swearing, teasing, sexual innuendos, nothing too bad to start
Summary: your an avenger, one of earth hero's, confident in who you are and what you want, until a God started getting under your skin.
*avengers au, Loki and Thor make it back to earth after ragnarok, and are living in stark tower.
Part 1-
====================================
Tumblr media
You had joined the avengers a couple years ago, shortly after the attack on New York, being recruited by none other then black widow. You had been on your own for most of your life, being left with a foster family you took off, deciding the only person you could rely on was yourself. She had seen you one day when you a few guys decided it would be fun to harass you. She was coming over to help you when she saw you take down all three by yourself. She came over, saying you had potential and asked you to join. "Why not." You had said looking at her.
You kept to yourself mostly, not really wanting to make friends, but slowly they started to grow on you. Everytime bucky and sam got In a fight you couldn't help laugh, or everytime Steve irritated Tony, you couldn't help watch the madness unfold on the occasion you made it down to the lab. That's where you had met Matt, he was a lab tech that worked with Bruce and Tony. A year into you being at the tower he had asked you out. You had told him no a few times, not wanting to get that close with anyone but he was persistent. Always sending you flowers, complimenting you, trying to make small talk. you decided to give him a shot, he was nice, and pretty cute. Tall and on the thinner side, with short blonde hair that curled all over his head, glasses and a killer smile.
You had been seeing Matt for a couple of weeks when Thor came to the tower, explaining that Asgard had been destroyed and they had to come to earth. You were sitting on the couch in the common room with Matt when Thor had come in, a tall dark haired man following behind him. You knew who he was, everyone did. "Y/n, this is my brother Loki, he's going to be staying with us in the tower." Thor smiled at you. You looked up at him "Hello Thor....Loki." You said nodding at Loki as he stood there with his arms crossed. "Anyone told you it's not polite to stare?" You asked looking at Loki. His eyes squinting at you "no one that mattered." He said glaring. "And who is this?" Thor asked breaking you from your staring contest "this is my boyfriend Matt, Matt this is Thor and his brother." You said looking at Thor. "Hi, nice to meet you both." Matt said standing holding his hand out to them shaking Thor's hand, while Loki glared at it. You got up grabbing Matt's arm "ignore him, he has issues." You said pulling Matt away.
Loki stared at you as you left "Well brother, it seems you may have met your match." Thor laughed slapping Loki's shoulder. He hummed before Thor drug him off to meet the rest of the team. You had developed a hate, dislike relationship with the God. Wherever he was, snide remarks followed. You both always falling into insults and rude comments around eachother. You couldn't even be paired on missions because you made everyone miserable. You would have tried to get along with him If he wasn't so insufferable.
So here you stood, a year later, standing in the kitchen making tea as the ignorant jerk made his way in. "Y/n, why are you up so late? Your pathetic boyfriend not satisfying you?" He asked smirking at you "and that's my cue to leave." You said grabbing your tea starting to leave. "You know where to find me if you want a real man." He said making you stop. You turned around looking at him, he was leaned against the counter, arms crossed with a smile on his face. You slowly walked over to him looking him up and down "does it even still work? With all the women you bring to the tower I'm surprised it hasn't fallen off." You said glaring at him. His smile dropped as he stood up walking towards you "I would watch how you speak to me." He said squinting his eyes at you. "Whatever you say princess." You said starting to go back to your room when a woman came out of Loki's room.
"Lokiiii baby where are you?" She screeched, her voice piercing your ears. "There's one of them now." You said leaving going to your room. You sat your tea down and threw yourself on the bed. A part of you wished that you got along with him, that you could have been friends with him. If you were being honest with yourself, a part of you thought he was attractive, beautiful even. The way his hair curled at the ends making you want to twirl it around your finger, the way his green eyes seemed to glow, the way his muscles flexed when you caught glimpses during training. You may have had a little crush on him, but there was no way anyone was going to find out, ever.

Comfort Masterlist
a father's comfort (ao3) - haveufoundwhaturlookingfor ned/peter G, 1k
Summary: Peter gets a migraine at school, and all he wants is the comfort of his dad.
Answer All My Prayers (ao3) - STARSdidathing loki/tony T, 6k
Summary: It was rather ironic that the first mortal to pray to Loki in centuries, was not only an enemy, but a man who had no idea what his words were doing.
Caring for a Human (ao3) - The_Winter_Writer tony/thor N/R, 2k
Summary: There was a constant low level fear that had settled at the back of Thor's mind. Humans were a fragile race, though constantly trying to hide that fact, and Thor hated the reminder of it in Tony’s exhausted eyes. He hated how the sight of fever flushed cheeks and the sound of a raspy voice made that fear slam to the front of his mind.
Comfort (ao3) - TheCityLightShow bucky/steve/tony G, 1k
Summary: He finds a sweatshirt folded up on his bed. He frowns – it hadn't been there when he left, but it is quite obviously just a sweatshirt with a little note on top.
It's in Stark's unmistakable scrawl – stop leaving your shit in my lab Steven – and that only confuses Bucky more. Surely Stark knows better than anyone the layout of the tower, of each floor? But he's left it in the wrong room.
Bucky picks it up with the full intention of returning it to Stevie's room, but the fabric jostles as he does and the fucked-up serum in his system means he can smell it. It's somewhere between paper and something Steve-like, and grease or oil, something he only gets in Tony's workshop. They're out there, fighting, but for a second Bucky's brain can believe they're here, safe, with him.
Full Disclosure Not Required (but Appreciated) (ao3) - Potrix steve/tony, pepper/rhodey, sam/bucky E, 16k
Summary: The one where Steve knows more than he lets on, Tony knows less than he pretends, Clint has a big mouth, Bucky is a little shit, and everyone learns why keeping secrets never ends well.
Almost never, anyway.
hold the things you wanna say (ao3) - SailorChibi steve/tony T, 6k
Summary: Tony is still a consultant, and between SI, the team and SHIELD he's overworked and exhausted. That's okay.
He and Steve have been having sex for weeks but that's all it is, just sex, and Tony wants more but he'll never get it and that's okay. Really.
What's not okay is the fact that Howard Stark has somehow appeared in the future and is the same as always.
This is definitely going to fuck up his schedule.
In Our Room (ao3) - ClaraxBarton bucky/clint E, 2k
Summary: After another Avengers mission, Clint is left questioning his line of work. Or: Good, old fashioned comfort via sexy times.
Long way from Ok (ao3) - Ghostshappen T, 1k
Summary: Maybe Bucky was lying about being OK but he’s trying
Mr. Hospitality (ao3) - abysmallydull steve/tony, clint/tony, bruce/tony E, 7k
Summary: Never let it be said that Tony wasn’t the perfect host. Have something you need? It will be there, just say the word. It’s a twisted sort of pride that makes this proud man cater to your every wish and need. He’s the best host, damn it, and you’d better appreciate how he’d bend over backwards (or forwards, if you want) to see to your needs.
peace and quiet (ao3) - haveufoundwhaturlookingfor clint/steve N/R, 945
Summary: Clint knew it was going to be a bad day when he woke up to no coffee available.
Protect Me From The Storm (ao3) - LadyAngelique, orphan_account steve/bucky E, 2k
Summary: Steve's afraid of thunderstorms. He hates them, they make him feel vulnerable and remind him of a time where Bucky was no longer at his side. And that hurt, like nothing he'd ever felt before.
Quadrant (ao3) - AvaKelly clint/steve/bucky/sam T, 7k
Summary: In a world where loving someone causes their unique soulmark tattoo to appear on his skin, Clint has been falling for too many people, but never has been loved back. So when he sees his mark on Bucky's shoulder, he can't really believe it.
Storm Incoming (ao3) - haveufoundwhaturlookingfor clint/steve/tony N/R, 1k
Summary: Clint is terrified of storms, has been for as long as he can remember. But now, he has two alpha's to comfort and protect him from the storms, even though he sometimes forgets and needs reminding. Also, Bucky's there, because I thought it would be cute.
That Carnival's A Death Trap (ao3) - emily_ann_1021 G, 2k
Summary: Peter and Ned want to go to the carnival, but Tony insists it’s too dangerous. The boys, thinking they could sneak out without anyone noticing, are fastly in over their heads when a fun night out turns into an attempted kidnapping. Luckily the Good Dad™ is always prepared when Peter manages to get into trouble.
Two (or Three)'s Company (ao3) - natalia_alianova_romanova_01 bucky/steve/natasha T, 2k
Summary: After a hard therapy session, Bucky comes back to the apartment and has a deep conversation with Steve and Natasha and they comfort him. Classic hurt/comfort with a fluffy ending for your troubles. (I guess this is set between Civil War and Infinity War? Idk, I just wanted to channel classic 2012 Marvel fics, you know, when times were simple.)
Vibrato (ao3) - shattered_sian loki/stephen M, 15k
Summary: Thor and Loki return to Earth with the people of Asgard, but Strange won't allow Loki to roam Earth after all of his devilish deeds. Thor makes an agreement with the sorcerer to keep Loki on Earth- his brother will have to be under the supervision of Doctor Strange at all times. While at first Loki's antics are nearly too much for Strange to handle, things slowly change.
Winter Soldier: Resurrection (ao3) - DCAngst G, 38k
Summary: In 2024, Bucky Barnes follows a lead about more super soldier serum that takes him to Siberia. He encounters the unexpected and finds himself in 2014, shortly after the Winter Soldier vanished.
Winter Undone (ao3) - DCAngst steve/bucky T, 74k
Summary: What if, after the Endgame battle, Dr. Strange used the time stone to save Tony and undo 80 years of Hydra for Bucky? In other words, 1945 Bucky ends up in 2023 and has to come to terms with...a lot.

Queens and gods🐍👑
Loki x fem reader
Chapter 1
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Summary: Loki, the god of mischief, has brought chaos to new york. What happens when he meets a particular interesting human? Love? Havoc? or rather--amusement.
Warnings: death, swearing.
A/n: A recent commission was made by @kitxel-draws. Thanks for your supportive generosity. Chapter 2 shall be out soon. Enjoy💖
Chapter 2
Chapter 3
-----
War is where death follows between two opposing sides that fight until nothing but ash falls.
The city of New York was under threat, and the god of mischief had accomplished his goal; using the tesseract, he summoned an army that he had gained with the alliance of Thanos. The aliens came through the portal with heavy machinery and weapons, rifles, blasters, and snipers. These aliens, the Chitauri, were under the commandment of their one true God, Loki. The civilians in the area under witness to these extra-terrestrial beings were mortified in horror—the only reactions they could muster were screams and fleeing. The Chitahuri fell from the sky, riding their chariots. They resembled a swarm of bugs from above, bunching together before parting as soon as they hit the earth’s atmosphere. The Chitauri started attacking the streets below; their weapons blasted anything in sight, human or not. Loud explosions could be heard at every corner, blazing fires emerged from the streets, and the tall, mighty skyscrapers that towered above any human, fell into a pile of broken rubble and dust. Loki stood proudly as he gazed down, staring at the battle in his glory. Loki closed his eyes as he heard the screams of mortal beings fleeing from the chaos—it seemed too beautiful, finally, a world where he was crowned and worshipped. The word “worshipped” meant so much in Loki’s mind, a world built in his name, a world he could call his own.
However, the dream ended when a worthy foe appeared in his presence.
“And, what fool dares to challenge me at my hour of triumph?” Loki asked with a mischievous grin. He knows how this will end, another mortal who shall bite the dust or join his army.
“One that values freedom for their country” A familiar voice struck Loki with recognition.
It was Captain America, the first avenger, the first fighter for freedom, and a patriotic hero beloved by all. “A soldier” Loki grinned further. Was he serious? Is this mortal willing to battle a god? What a joke.
“I’m giving you one last chance, Loki; stand down,” Captain America ordered.
“Never!” He furiously hissed.
Loki blasted a magical force from his scepter, and Captain America quickly dropped and rolled out of the way. He was determined; he didn’t back down while his country was attacked. Captain America threw his shield in a straight line; the blue and white shield flew at an unnatural speed, the circular disk spinning in a smooth motion as it aimed toward Loki. However, Loki used his scepter to ‘whack’ the shield out of the way. Captain America tossed his shield repeatedly in all directions. He was determined to defeat the god of mischief. Captain America ran up to Loki, punching him square in the jaw only—it didn’t affect him. Loki hit Captain America on his back to knock him over, but Steve quickly pushed himself up and dodged the oncoming scepter smashing into the ground. Captain America held his fists up, his legs facing in a fighting stance; he was prepared to take on Loki.
“I can do this all day,” Steve determinedly said.
Captain America came in again, rushing toward Loki with his hands curled into a fist. One punch after the other, swing after swing, Captain America fought with all his might against the God of Mischief. Loki turned his scepter in a perfect balance, following Captain America’s attacks. It was a fight to the death that would last between two powerful men: one a god and the other an artificial soldier. The difference between fighting Thor and Loki was that Thor relied heavily on his strength while Loki relied on his agility and wit. After the last punch, Captain America pushed Loki off to retrieve his shield. Loki prepared to defend himself from more of Steve’s attacks. Captain America looked directly into Loki’s eyes; he threw the shield with all his strength. The shield’s impact was so powerful that it knocked him onto his back. Loki’s crown fell off with a loud ‘clank’ to the ground. Perhaps he was wrong; mortal heroes were undoubtedly more formidable than they seemed.
This didn’t stop the god of mischief; however, he was still willing to take down this artificial soldier. He was a god, after all, a deity more powerful than man. All it took was one hit, and Captain America shall be no more. Loki curled his hands into fists; his own dark, raven hair that was once slicked back was now unkempt; strands of his black hair dangled down the side of his pale face.
“Come soldier, are you still prepared to fight for your weak brethren” Loki teased threateningly.
Captain America grabbed his shield as he was prepared to fight God, though something significant impacted Steve on the head. He lost his balance as he held his hands to his head. Loki stared in blatant confusion, knowing he wasn’t using any magic to force something that heavy on Steve’s head. Captain America turned to his side to see where the oncoming impact came from.
“Fuck you, motherfucker!! It’s your fault she’s dead!” a voice emerged from the pile of rubble.
Loki was astounded yet kept quiet and watched in confusion toward this angered human.
Captain America immediately turned to the Civilian; it was a woman with tear stains on her face and messy hair. Captain America tried to order her, “Mam, you’ve been ordered to evacuate the area!”.
“No! Y-you’re supposed to be a hero; what kind of hero allows an innocent person to die!” the woman stood her ground.
“I understand your frustration, mam, but please, we are trying to take everything under control,” Captain America reasoned with the angered woman.
Captain America was frustrated that this lady wouldn’t listen; however, only to his astounded horror did he realize his shield had hit a Chitauri ship earlier. He was so focused on defeating Loki; he didn’t know the risk to the other civilians surrounding the area. Steve gazed at the fallen ship; beneath its crushed underside was a woman’s body. Steve felt horrible; he looked at the woman with a guilty expression.
“I’m sorry, mam, I had no intention of—.”
“Intention of saving those innocent bystanders,” the woman snapped.
The woman, named y/n, didn’t care if Captain America was brave or good-hearted; he killed off the one woman who meant the whole world to her. Y/n’s mother. She was the most audacious and kindest soul any could know. She sacrificed herself to save her daughter’s life, a tough decision that couldn’t be made quickly. It was always a battle between the heroes and villains, yet, they were all the same. No matter where who, or what they fought, it was always the same. Heroes do more damage, just like villains.
While Steve was distracted, a Chitauri emerged from behind the car, holding a dagger. Captain America couldn’t react fast enough for the alien to take hold of y/n by the hair. “FUCK YOU- AH!” she screamed, wrestling with the grey-armored, hideous E.T. off her. Before she could react, a blue strain of light formed beneath the woman. “I thank you, soldier, for the fight. However, you were getting a little boring, so I’ll take my farewells and leave your pathetic world behind,” Loki smirked. Y/n screamed out to Captain America; Steve rushed to try and save the civilian that hit him with ash felt earlier. Only, he didn’t grab her fast enough.
Loki shot a blue beam of light into the sides of the buildings; the buildings all started to tumble down as Loki escaped.
With the puny, feisty human.

Just thought this thread/post on Twitter (about Tumblr and movies) was good and interesting! Thought you might like it! 🙌
https://twitter.com/mayascade/status/1557120260247109633?s=21&t=7Y1uYylj6BGiIIsydf1bAw
Tumblr media
Very interesting thread indeed.
I am trying to remember if there was ever a movie or a TV show that I watched just because of posts that I had seen on tumblr......I think there were, but right now I cannot think of any. LOL
But I certainly know about a lot more movies and TV shows through tumblr than I normally probably would, right down to basic plot outlines.
But this thread also makes me think of one of the big fan headcanons that became an urban legend that has now become an established fact: that Loki was mind-controlled by Thanos in Avengers 1.
That originated by a gif set of one of the most popular gifmakers back in the day on tumblr...whose username escapes me right now. She used to be "probablyadoreyou" and later changed her username to I think indeed "tomhiddleston".
Anyway, she was a prolific gifmaker, one of the biggest and most popular fan accounts on Tumblr in the early days with thousands upon thousands of followers.
One day she posted a gifset of the scene in Avengers 1 where Thor and Loki fight on top of Stark Tower. In these gifs, Loki had green eyes. In the caption, she wrote a whole essay about how the changing of his eye colour was proof that he was mind-controlled by Thanos and thus not responsible for anything.
This was and still is obviously bullshit. Loki does not change eye colour ever in any movie, as you can clearly see when you look at the clips or screencaps or gifs that haven't been tampered with. She had just photoshopped her gifs beyond recognition and given Loki green eyes.
But as always, trying to debunk this obvious manipulation and headcanon was no use, because it caught on and became a "fandom fact" quicker than you could say "wait a minute".
Marvel didn't do anything to help when a few years ago they posted on their official character page that Loki was influenced by the Mind Stone during the events of Avengers 1. Although, people with sufficient reading comprehension would understand the subtle but important differences between stans claiming that he was "mind-controlled by Thanos" and Marvel saying that he was "influenced through the Mind Stone that amplified his grievances towards Thor and the Avengers", but...yeah.
We are still dealing with the fallout from this, some ten years later. It has massively influenced the discourse around Avengers 1 and Loki as a character, and it's just...tiring.

homesick
By Crimson25
Crimson X Loki
Note: this is about my original Marvel character, Crimson. i know its the same name as mine but i like it sooooo deal with it. this also doesn’t follow the MCU timeline. In this universe Loki lives in the Avengers tower. I hope you like it. I hope to start my own MCU character one day. her super power is rapid healing  (kind of like wolverine) the only downside is that the scars don’t go away. I might give her more powers in the future.
About fic: total fluff piece. Crimson is tickled, Loki is tickled. Loki gets a better perspective on the newer avenger.
Summary: Crimson is feeling home sick. It’s been two months since she’s seen her friends and family. Today’s a particularly bad day and Loki notices. He’s determined to make her feel better. Here we go.
The clock read 2:49am. It was late. Crimson sat on the padded floor looking at her phone. She was in the training room on the 5th floor of the avenger’s tower. She had taken a break from fighting Tony’s training robots. They were cheap robots that could be used for sparing. She was wearing a pair of black trip pants, (She liked them, they were easy to move around in) a dark green tank top, and her black and red hair was pulled back in a ponytail. Her training outfit.
She was scrolling through her text messages from her friends, wishing she was with them. Her friend sapphire had gotten tickets to go see the band “The Offspring’s” and wanted her to go, but it being all the way in Florida, she had to ask Tony. She begged and begged but it was no use. Tony wasn’t being mean, he just had important things he had to do with her. He was finally getting around to designing her suit, so he needed her impute and body size. Sadly, that was going to be an all-day thing, plus he wanted her to train more. She understood that this was more important but it still sucked. She hadn’t seen her friends in two months along with her family.
Sure she was making friends with the avengers. Natasha had been showing her new fighting moves and she didn’t hate having another girl in the tower. Peter and Crimson became fast friends. He was the best person to pull pranks with. Thor was just fun to be around. Especially when he drinks. Bucky were starting to like a lot of the same music as her and Bucky was easy to be around. He was pretty cool. He reminded her of her friend Thomas. Over all she got along with everyone. Everyone that is except for a certain god of mischief. It always seemed like he found her annoying. Even when they first met. Tony had introduced her to the team and Loki made a snarky remark about how he didn’t know this was a daycare (also referring to peter). Though she was 23 she looked like she was 16. Thankfully Thor gave him a good punch. After that it was snarky remarks and sarcastic comments. She just ignored him. It didn’t faze her. What was really getting to her was missing everyone and this concert didn’t help.
She sat there looking through messages that read wish you were here. And pictures of her friends enjoying the music. A tear streamed down her face.
“Why am I crying?” She thought. “it’s just a stupid concert, I didn’t even want to go to that anyway.” she lied to herself. She put her phone down and got up. Her sadness quickly turning to anger. She grabbed her staff and chain.
“Hey Friday?”
“Yes crimson?” the AI spoke over the speakers of the training room.
“Set up two bots, level four.” The robots being on a scale of 1-5, five being the hardest.
“Are you sure? Two seems like a lot and you normally stay with level three. Are you sure you can handle that?”
“I’m sure, just do it.” She said irritated. Her anger growing.
“OK.”
Crimson got into her fighting stance, ready with her weapons. her brain getting bombarded with thought about her friends, making her anger grow more and more.  The bots approached her. As she was about to attack she heard a text notification from her phone. Everything just burst out of her.
“AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!”
She screamed, unleashing a barrage of strikes from her staff. Demolishing one of the bot to pieces. The other bot circled her, planning to attack from behind, but it was too slow. As it was about to strike, crimson turned around and blocked the shot with her staff. She jumped back. Grabbing her chain, she flung it at its legs and wrapping around them. She pulled hard, causing it to fall out from under itself. she then continued to destroy it with her staff.
As the robots laid there, sparking and glitching, Crimson caught her breath. A few more tears running down her face.
“I must say, that actually wasn’t that bad.” A voice said, cutting through the silence.
Crimson, not knowing anyone had come into the room, turned around in surprise. Loki was standing by the door with his famous smug smile, thinking he was above everyone else.
“Jeez, you could’ve given me a heart attack. What are you doing here?” She said surprised. She had thought everyone was on a mission. Well except for Tony and Bruce, they were working in the lab. Tony said they were in “the zone” and were not to be disturbed. She was sure Loki had gone with Thor. She was wrong. He chuckled.
“I could ask you the same question.” He was right. She should have been asleep hours ago. She rolled her eyes.
“I couldn’t sleep, so I decided to exercise.” She said not wanting to deal with him.
“That’s putting it lightly.” He said looking at the two destroyed bots. He walked further into the room. He was wearing pajama pants and a gray t-shirt. His black hair slightly messy.
“Whatever. Why are you here?” She asked picking up her weapons off the floor.
“well just like you I couldn’t sleep. So I went for a walk and I noticed the light in here was on and I came in.”
“were you watching me, how long were you standing there?” She asked suddenly feeling embarrassed. Her cheeks flushed.
“A few minutes before you destroyed these two.” He said pointing to the bots. “I must say your much stronger than I thought. You might actually be useful to the team.” He said trying to get under her skin. It was working.
“Yeah well at least I’m not just some dumb magician.” Crimsons anger was slowly coming back. She knew the magician comment would bug Loki because she had witnessed Tony calling him that and Loki getting pissed.
success.
“Shut up, you’re just a child. Your fighting skills are no match for a god like me.” Crimson scoffed.
“Oh yeah prove it.” She said gripping her staff tighter.
“Ha. Fine ive been needing a challenge, but you’ll have to do I guess.” He said sarcastically, conjuring up a staff of his own. She got into her fighting stance, he did the same.
Loki was the first to strike, going for her left side. She blocked it. Trying to land a shot was difficult. He really was a good fighter. It went on like this for a minute, till they backed up to take a few breaths.
“this is just too easy.” Loki smiled smugly at her. His eyes saying I’m better then you. Out of rage, crimson struck back catching Loki off guard. It wasn’t fast enough though. He dodged it at the last second. They then struck at the same time, Staffs pushed against each other, crisscrossed. Their faces inches apart. Her arms started to shake under Loki’s weight.
“What’s the matter little girl, tired? You haven’t even hit me once.” He said with an evil smile, trying to get under her skin. The constant jabs partnered with the fact that she wasn’t in a good mood to begin with, was making her anger grow.
“I don’t even know why Stark bothers with you. You’ll never measure up.” That was the last straw. She saw red and was ready to kill. She exploded with hit after hit. Loki, surprised by the sudden attack, was doing his best to try and keep up but Crimson was faster. He had no idea this would happen. She took her staff in one hand and the other went for her chain, doing the same move she had done to the robot before, knocking Loki down.
Loki looked up and his eyes went wide. Crimson was standing over him about to bash his face in. Her eyes filled with rage. She held her staff above her head, her hands gripping it till her knuckles were white. She wanted to hit him so bad. Loki actually felt afraid.
“H-hang on.” He said holding his hands up in surrender, starting to get up.
“SHUT UP!” she put her foot on his chest forcing him back down. Her staff high above her head. Was she really going to hurt him? That’s when her anger turned back into sadness. (always at the worst time) Tears started to well up in her eyes.
“FUCK!” she shouted. She threw her staff down and let out a scream just like before, letting her anger out that way instead of hurting Loki. She walked away from him, tears finally falling. She sat down facing away from him. Loki sat up and collected himself. He was honestly a little shaken up He looked over at her.
“I think I went too far.” he said to himself. He got up and walked over to her and sat down. He said nothing at first, not really sure what to say.
“did uhh the scream make you feel better?” crimson said nothing.
“I’m sorry, I crossed the line. I really didn’t mean it.” Loki said sincerely. Crimson wiped her eyes.
“It’s ok. Your stupid comments don’t usually get to me. I’ve just had a lot on my mind lately.” she said admittedly.
“Do you want to talk about it?”
She sighed.  She really didn’t want to talk, but relented.
“I’m just homesick. I haven’t seen my family and friends in two months and I just miss them. Especially my best friend, And I don’t want to complain to Tony because I know this is a great opportunity and I’ll just seem like some dumb kid who can’t handle it. Sometimes I feel like I’m not as good as everyone else and I shouldn’t be here.” Crimson felt a little bit better but it wasn’t much.
Loki felt bad. He knew that feeling of “I’ll never be good enough” all too well. What with the years he spent trying to measure up to Thor, just to get his father’s approval.  He also knew what it felt like to be alone. He finally spoke.
“I know what it feels like to be lonely, missing the people you care about. Feeling like you can never measure up to them” He thought about all those years he spent trying to be better than Thor and trying to get his father’s approval. He then thought about when he was exiled from asgard. He had started to miss his mother and brother. Though he hid it well he really did care about Thor. He looked over at her to see if she was feeling better. He really saw her face for the first time. Her skin was pale like his. She had a scare on her right cheek she was trying to hide with makeup. Her eyes were light brown and she had a few freckles. He never noticed how cute she was. (for a midguard)
“You know if it makes you feel any better Your actually really good.” She looked over at him. He nodded. “I was really impressed. I underestimated you.” She smiled a little. Tears no longer falling but her cheeks were still red.
“You’re really good with that chain of yours to, I really wasn’t expecting it.” He said with a small laugh. “And don’t worry, you’re doing great here.”
“Thanks.” She said feeling better. “I’m sorry if I scared you back there.” Loki laughed
“Ha, darling you didn’t scare me. I was just surprised. If anything, I let you win.” He lied though his teeth. Making her laugh in return.
“Sure. That’s what happened.” crimsons smile grew wider. He was totally lying. She really could have hurt him if she hadn’t stopped
“What, you don’t believe me? Fine let’s go again.” He said getting up
“OK fine, I don’t mind kicking your butt again.” She said getting ready for round two. Loki rolled his eyes
“like I said, you surprised me and I let you win, you won’t be that lucky this time darling.” He said getting ready as well.
This fight was different. Crimson was more relaxed and was having fun. She moved around more and her body was loose. After a few back and forth hits Loki spoke
“you know you’re never going to win.” He said playing around with her. “maybe you should just quite now whi-” As Loki spoke Crimson managed to get him into a head lock and covered his mouth with her hand.
“You talk too much.” All of a sudden she felt his slimy tongue on her hand. “EEEWWW!” She dropped Loki and vigorously wiped her hand. Loki laid on the floor Laughing.
“Ahaha, Thor used to do that to me all the time.” He looked at her getting his spit off her hand and laughed again. “Haha you’re such a girl.”
“Oh you did not just call me a girl.” She said with a hint of mischief in her voice. “you’re in for it now.” Was he really still making fun of her? Oh he was going to get it and she knew exactly what to do. She saw Thor do this to Loki once and it was time to use it. In one swift motion she wrapped her legs around Loki’s legs, locking them in place. Then she grabbed his ankles and locked them in the crook of her elbow and began to scribble her fingers on his feet.
“NOHOHOHOHOHO WAHAHAHAHAIT STOHOHOHOHOHOHOP AHAHAHAHAH!” Loki’s laugh was a surprise to Crimson. It was surprisingly high for how low his voice was. It was cute.
“Aww what’s the matter, god of mischief can’t take getting tickled.” She teased. This was way more fun than actually training. She notices his skin was really pale, almost as pale as hers. He tried to grab at her to make her stop but the way she had herself positioned made it impossible for him to grab at her, plus the tickles were too much. Her skilled fingers tickled up and down his soul, driving him into hysterics’.
“LEHEHEHET GO OF MEHEHEHE AHAHAHAHAHA STOHOHOHOHOP!” Loki screamed with laughter as her fingers centered on the balls of his feet. This was just mean. His feet were one of his worst spots. And she was tickling him to tears. The teasing didn’t help either. She had a death grip on his legs. He tried desperately to get away. But it was no use.
“Hey Loki what’s so funny.” She teased. His cheeks flushed. She was enjoying this.
“STOHOHOHOHOHOP IHIHIHIHIT!” This was pure torture. He thrashed around wildly. Her nails being just sharp enough for this to tickle really bad.
“Hey Loki what would happen if I tickled you here?” That’s when her fingers wiggled their way to his toes. Scratching the soft skin underneath. That was it. He couldn’t take it anymore.
“AHAHAHAHAHAHAH NOHOHOHOHO NOT THERE! STOHOHOHOHOHOHOP I YEILD I YEHEHEHEHEHELD! Loki screamed wanting desperately for the sensation to stop.
Oh my god, was he giving up? This was too good. She felt merciful and decided to stop. Her hands slowed to a stop as did his laughter. She got up giggling, it was to funny.
“Ahaha that was fun. I usually don’t ever win a tickle fight.” she said feeling triumphant. Loki on the other hand was pissed. Not angry pissed, but playful pissed. If she thought, she could tickle the great Loki and get away with it then she was sorely mistaken. It was time…… for revenge. He kicked her legs out from under her, causing her to land on the floor. Before she could react he was on top of her straddling her hips. His mischievous smile was back.
“It was foolish of you to think you could tickle me and get away without any repercussions.”
“W-wait Loki no I-I’m sorry.” She stuttered. Realizing that this wasn’t going to end well.
“Oh talking won’t help you now Darling.” He quickly put her in the same hold she had him in. The only difference was he was taller and stronger so he had a better grip on her. He grabbed both of her ankles in one hand and tickled her feet all over. She burst out with laughter. His nimble fingers made their way to her toes and he was surprised her reaction was about the same as his.
“AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH NOHOHOHOHOHOHO STOHOHOHOHOHOP” She screamed. He couldn’t help but laugh along with her. Her laugh was light and cute.
“Oh I don’t think so. It’s my turn.” He knew exactly what to do, being in a dozen tickle fights with Thor. Loki looked at her. she was trying so hard to get away. It made him smile. Making him want to tickle her more.
“What if I touch you here?” One of his hands ventured up to her thigh. That’s when her eyes went wide. It was her death spot. No way was he going to tickle her worst spot on the first go around. It was so unfair.  With all the strength she had left she broke out of his grip and pushed him off. Loki laid on the floor laughing.
“ohohoh did I find a bad spot?” he said laughing with full intent on getting that spot again. Crimson quickly got up and ran for the elevator door, trying to escape the evil tickle God. Loki sat up as the elevator doors opened.
“Boy am I glad that came fast.” She thought to herself.
“Oh you think running away will save. I’m going to find you.” He said with an evil grin. She was still giggling. Half from the ghost tickles still on her feet and half at how much fun she was having. The door closed and she pressed the 14th floor. That floor had the kitchen, a living room, and four bed rooms. One of which was hers. The rest belonged to Thor, Loki, and Bucky. As the elevator went up she was finally able to catch her breath. The laughter finally gone but her smile staying. This little cat and mouse game they were playing was fun. It reminded her of her brothers. How they would play silly games like this.
As the doors opened she thought about where to hide. Not in the bedrooms it would take to long for Loki to find her. Sure she could lock herself in her room but where’s the fun in that. So she settled on ducking down by the cabinets that faced away from the elevator doors.  Her smile was wide, she felt like she was a little kid again. She waited for about 5 minutes when she heard the elevator coming back up. She was ready.
Ding
The doors open. Loki walked into the dark living room. The only light was the muted TV, playing the news.
“where are you?” His voice was calm. It almost sang out through the room… that was a bad sigh.
“I’m going to find you.” He paused looking around the room. “I know you’re here.” he said evilly. Like Crimson, he was having fun to. Normally he would be on the receiving end.  This was way more fun.
Crimson was trying to stay quiet but the anticipation of being found was maddening. She felt like Lex and Tim from Jurassic park. When they were hiding from the velociraptors in the kitchen. She peeked around the corner to see if she could see him. He was heading to the bedrooms. This was perfect, she could quietly make her way back to the training room and get her stuff.
“I have to get my phone.” She thought to herself. She slowly got up with Loki still in her sight. She took a step to the elevator when two arms wrapped around her causing her to scream in surprise.
“And where do you think you’re going?” Her eyes widened. It was Loki, but how? She looked back at where she saw Loki, but when she saw him he quickly vanished. Damn it, he used his duplication casting. She tried to get out of his grip, squirming like crazy but he wasn’t having it.
“Oh no, you’re not getting away that easy.” He said picking her up and bringing her to the couch. He threw her down and before she could move he was right back on top of her. Straddling her hips and pinning her hands under his knees.
“W-wait Loki please don’t.” She pleaded, a nervous smile on her face.
“Wait, Wait for what? I have you here, you can’t get away, and no one is here to help you.” He said evilly. She started to feel a bit scared, he was right. She was totally at his mercy, but the feeling of terror was soon replaced with the feeling of fingers climbing up her sides, then going towards her stomach. Loki had snuck his hands under her shirt, feeling her soft skin underneath. Her eyes squeezed shut as a stream of giggles poured out.
“AHAHAHAHAHAHAH LOKI STOHOHOHOHOP!” She cried Loki’s fingers made their way to her stomach making her laugh go a bit higher. Loki ignored her pleas.
“Oh I see you’ve found out what was so funny.” He said as one of his fingers dipped into her belly button, making her thrash even more.
“LOHOHOHOHOKI NOHOHOHOHO NOT THREHEHEHER!” She laughed. His fingers sent shock waves throughout her body. But that wasn’t why she wanted him to stop.
“What do you mean not hear? Is there a spot you don’t want me to find?” He asked trying to keep his own laughter contained while still trying to be menacing. Which was hard considering he had a smile plastered on his face. “Let’s get this out of the way” he said moving her tank top up a bit.
When he saw her stomach though, his fingers stopped and his smile faded. Crimsons stomach was covered in scare. Mostly stab and bullet wounds.  It made him sad to see someone so young go through so much pain. He had seen the few scars on her arms before but this was different, there were so many. As crimson caught her breath and her laughter slowly stopped she looked at Loki. She was still smiling from her tickle attack when she finally spoke.
“The scars don’t go away.” She said breaking the silence. Crimson had years to get used to them. they didn’t bother her anymore but she still felt uncomfortable when peopled stared so she kept them hidden most of the time. Loki stayed silent. After a moment though his expression turned curious and his head tilted to the side. Then he took his finger and started to trace her scars, Crimson, surprised by the sudden touch, tried to keep the laughter in but failed. As Loki heard the beautiful sound of her laughter again, his smile quickly returned.
“LOKI STOHOHOHOP THIS ISN’T FAHAHAHAHAHAIR!” His feather light touches were torture.
“Stop talking, I’m drawing a picture.” He said circling his finger around one of the bullet wounds. Making her body tremble.
“I’M NOHOHOHOHOT PAPER! STOHOHOHOHOHOP! She cried. Loki laughed at her comment, glad she was playing along with this silly game, but feeling she had had enough, he decided to try one last thing.
“You know how about we try one last spot.” He said looking at her mischievously and setting a hand on her inner thigh. Giving it a good squeeze. Once again Crimsons eyes went wide as she felt the tickle shock go through her whole body. Before he could do anything else, she gathered her last bit of strength and bucked him off of her, sending him to the floor. She couldn’t stand being tickled there. If Loki had managed to tickle her there, she probably would have punched him out of reflex. As soon as he was off of her, she culled up and wrapped her arms around her stomach, trying to protect herself from anymore tickles. She looked down at Loki who was on the floor laughing
“hihihih guess thahat really is a bad spot.” He said getting back up on the couch. he would have to try that spot another time “Are you ok?” he asked crimson as her breathing returned to normal.
“You’re such a jerk.” Crimson said sitting up.
“You deserved it.” He said watching her fix her messy hair. He was silent for a moment then spoke “Hey can I ask you something?”
“sure”
“What did you mean when you said you don’t normally win these?” that comment stuck with him for some reason.
“oh well I have two older brothers who normally gang up on me.” Loki looked surprised
“Wow, Two, and I thought I had it bad. I can’t imagine what it would be like if I had to deal with two Thors.” Loki said making crimson laugh.
They spent the next few hours just talking and getting to know each other till they fell asleep. Loki woke up and brought Crimson to her room and then went to sleep
THE NEXT MORNING
Loki walked into the kitchen to find Tony, Natasha, Clint, and Bruce in the kitchen. He grabbed an orange and was about to leave when he heard tony start to complain.
“I can’t believe Crimsons not up yet. I told her we had important stuff to do today.” Tony said slightly annoyed. Loki having just spent the night learning about Crimsons life and remembering how much she wanted to be with her friends last night, jumped to defend her. He raised his voice.
“Cut her some slack. She’s doing her best to become just as strong as us. I think you can let her sleep an extra five minutes.” He said walking out. Everyone was shocked and silent. Shocked that loki said that. Clint broke the silence.
“I don’t think any of us expected him to say that.”
The end.
Notes: sorry it was so long but I hope you enjoyed it. I hope one day I can make my marvel character real. I always applicate criticism.

if i ask you very very very nicely and politely and cutely will you please tell me about the secret mcu that lives in your head?
the secret mcu that lives in my head is moreso an amalgamation of moments/ideas in my head that make me go "SICK" so this might be really rambly and incomprehensible. sorry in advance dhfhgsgd
posting under a cut because i can't shut the fuck up
in the secret mcu that lives in my head, all of the solo movies would be directed by one director and/or writer(s) who have a great grasp of whichever character they're assigned and then for ensemble movies all of those directors and writers come together and work on making a coherent narrative instead of the character assassinations we got in ensemble films. in the same way the heroes are coming together on the screen, the production team and actors are doing the same behind the scenes.
the black widow movie would take place in phase 1 right after iron man 2, followed by thor, then ca: tfa and i put it in that order for a reason. i like nat's character introduction in iron man 2 and i feel like right after that would have been the perfect moment to give us her origin story. it opens with the same scenes from the black widow movie wer did get—young natasha and yelena, fleeing the united states going back to the red room etc. but from there we would watch nat's entire experience in the red room, including the winter soldier training nat like in the comics. they would never refer to bucky by his name, only calling him soldat or the asset and nat is the one to name him, to give bucky back a bit of his humanity and from there on out he's referred to as by yasha. i have a lot more ideas for the black widow origin story we could have got but that's a whole separate post entirely. i just think it would have been neat if we only got glimpses of the soldier and in a black widow movie. then when people saw bucky in ca:tfa they'd be like "...he looks really similar to yasha...and he kind of fights like yasha...HOLY SHIT"
phase one ends with all of the avengers living in avengers tower because i say so. age of ultron would simply not exist because i do not care for that movie or certain characters that were introduced in it. if they were deadset on doing the civil war storyline, i think there's a better way they could have broken the avengers apart than the mess that was ca:cw. ca:cw also would not have been a cap movie but the third avengers movie it should have been.
finally, i would have stuck with thanos' original comic motivation of courting death and would have had him team up with hela. i'm like...cate blanchett was RIGHT there
the soul stone would also have more buildup. it feels so lazy that it was introduced in infinity war and like it was only meant to kill off gamora for shock value instead of actually serving a narrative purpose.
and that's pretty much all i got! thank you so much for listening to my rambles ☺️💖💖

GABE MY DEAR FRIEND I AM SINCERELY SORRY FOR THE LATE ASK REGARDING REPRISE- I GOT CAUGHT UP WITH ST BUT I AM HERE NOW TO RANT TO YOU ABOUT THAT AMAZING CHAPTER ONE SO HERE I GO!
R missing the stars- me too, my dear me too- Frigga living!!! (Yesss we love that for her, and Loki's breakdown about it??? glorious)
Loki and reader being more sibling like than Thor and Loki??? lmao and Reader being Loki's moral compass- I absolutely adored that part + Reader being a supportive friend to them and... just Them in general- I want to have a friendship like that-
WE ARE CALLING OUT STARK'S BLATANT DISREGARD FOR PETER'S FIGHTING SKILLS- GUY YOU CAN'T JUST THROW A TEEN A SUIT AND CALL IT A DAY-
Loki and Reader, and later Nat teaching Peter some moves??? I love bonding through training and this hit that part of me so well- Loki offering his help too??? And the steady integration of R and Loki into the life in the Avengers Tower- with Bucky + Nat being their sparring buddies??? LOVE LOVE LOVE THAT-
I'm so excited to see what would happen when Matt meets R- would he notice some difference in their heart beat or smell? Would he try to attack them on sight? Or would R, being the trickster's best friend, be teasing Matt and just slipping out of his grasp, playing cat and mouse-
All in all, absolutely loved the first part and I am so!!! excited!!! to!!! see!!! more!!!!!!! :))))
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH RAEL ;U; THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS !!!! don't worry about the timing! i saw your reblog tags and i was already very happy about those, this is just so sweet. AND DON'T WORRY I PERFECTLY UNDERSTAND BEING CAUGHT UP WITH SOMETHING ELSE
i had to add the stars. Asgard ALWAYS had them on display, i think. and I do too. my city doesn't have too much contamination so u can still see some planets and stars at night, but when u go out like, 15 or 20 minutes there is SO MUCH MORE. so yeah. space yearning
I CRIED FOR FRIGGA WHEN THAT HAPPENED FR AND LOKI LITERALLY SPIRALLS AFTER IT AND THE DELETED SCENES WHERE LOKI WAS SCREAMING INSIDE THE CELL?? YEAH. YEAH. not here tho, they get better (8
Thor and Loki are still close brothers, but yeah they are still like, not flinching in the literal sense of the word, but something broke between them from Thor 1 to TDW that didn't happen between Thor and Reader and between Loki and Reader, not to mention Thor used to be a dick about Loki's magic sometimes as teens (in my head) so yeah
LISTEN, PETER WAS LITERALLY MANAGING WITH SPIDERSENSE AND VIBES ONLY. and i know some ppl don't like Tony bashing, i get it, but also.....yeah
I'm very fond of those fics were they write Natasha and Peter being close. the spider duo. there are some too where Bucky and Peter become close too and so that's being shown here lol. AND YES! I KNOW AN INTEGRATION OF THIS KIND WOULD TAKE TIME SO :D BONDING SEQUENCE
oh trust me, i already have planned how magic is going to mess with Matt's perception and i hope i manage to explain and write it properly because the line between making your magic make sense in universe and being too out there is fine
thank you thank you thank you! im also excited to see more (8

Hey there
Favourite each avengers movies scenes??
This took me forever to get to, sorry!!
In all honesty it's been a long while since I've watched the Avengers movies...with how Marvel is going these days I might just have to rewatch them to remind myself of happier times 😭 but from what I can remember, here we go:
Avengers 1: Ok I am a Tony stan to the day I die, but I also really loved Loki (before they messed with him later...) so this is a hard decision. I love the scene where Loki and Thor clash on Avengers Tower and Loki, tears in his eyes, seems to break through the influence of the scepter and express his hopelessness to Thor. Absolutely baller character moment. But I think I have to go with Tony flying the missile into the wormhole, because holy heck the call to Pepper, the trauma that causes him and how that motivates everything that comes after, aughhhh...yeah that gets me
In the same vein, in AoU when Wanda gives Tony the (fricking prophetic) nightmare it just breaks me. He's so terrified and it is such a significant moment for him as a character (you might be able to tell I have a bias lol)
Now technically this isn't an Avengers film, but it basically is, so I'm gonna write about it: CACW is fricking difficult. There are so many really good scenes, I deeply enjoyed this movie. I love the reveal scene that it's Bucky who killed Tony's parents, because all three characters in that scene are filled with such raw and palpable emotion, and it really humanizes Bucky because he looks so ashamed and comparing that to who he had been before he became the Winter Soldier and how that Bucky would despise the cringing and guilty machine-man in front of him--and also it shows Tony showing such restraint (he holds himself back for the entire fight, and if that doesn't speak to how deeply he believes that he and the others need to be held in check I don't know what does) which is huge for a character who portrays himself as super impulsive. But also I love the scene at the end where Zemo tries to shoot himself and T'Challa stops him. It again really humanizes them both. Zemo listening to the message from his family and deleting it, which means that he was going to shoot himself not knowing that T'Challa was there, like it wasn't performative or just to get the last word, this was just a deeply damaged man who had no hope. He tells T'Challa how his family died, and then he says that he is sorry about T'Challa's father: "He seemed a good man. With a dutiful son." He's drawing parallels between them--expecting T'Challa to avenge his father as Zemo was his family. And T'Challa, whose father was murdered by the man in front of him, says no. There is a better way. A higher way, a more just way, another way. And he sheaths his claws, saying, "Justice will come soon enough." Perhaps even you will have peace, he says without saying it. Zemo replies, "Tell that to the dead." In a flash, he puts the gun beneath his chin and fires--there will be no peace for him. But T'Challa saves his life. And he holds Zemo on the ground, a man begging for death, and says, "The living are not done with you yet." What a powerful way to live out what is right, to stand for both mercy and justice at once, to step into the mantle of King. He is not cruel, he is not vindictive, and he is not weak. He believes that even men like Zemo can perhaps be redeemed--and he acts upon on that belief even when it calls for him to deny himself. At the end of the movie, he gives Bucky a place to heal and become himself again. Just one more example of what kind of man T'Challa is. It's only a few small moments, but it says so much about him. He is a truly good man. And I love that scene in particular for demonstrating that.
Infinity War I honestly think my favorite scene is when Tony gets stabbed by Thanos, solely because when I saw the movie premiere night, my stomach dropped to the floor. I completely thought they were killing him and I was utterly unprepared. Obviously he didn't actually die there, and there were other heartwrenching scenes (Peter's death, augh!) but that scene exemplified what the movie absolutely excelled at doing: subverting audience expectations in a devastating way. It didn't feel like a plot twist just for the sake of a twist, but I also would never have expected it--and that is also an accurate description of how the movie ended. Incredible film.
And I mean come on Endgame is too much to pick just one so I'll just say all of Tony's best moments. Particularly when he at long last finally stares down Steve and goes at him for everything that happened. How Tony had known, and Steve had disbelieved him, and how Tony had suffered without anyone there, without Steve there despite what he had promised. "No trust. Liar." Geez that was cathartic and also wrecked me because Tony has been through so much and he is just raw and hurting and it is so necessary to see that on screen. And it's even better because Robert was ad-libbing that. That wasn't scripted. That was Tony, finally saying what he had been carrying with him for years. He had known, and he had been traumatized by Thanos long before the others had. Vindication. And then of course I love the reunion with Peter (the fatherly kiss in an alternate take!!! Canon!!!) and the "I am Iron Man" scene and the CUT KNEELING SCENE THAT IS SO VALID AND IT IS CANON I DON'T CARE WHAT THEY SAY and his final message...bro his final message...literally he's always been a prophetic character and this is no exception he knew he was going to die...and like"Part of the journey is the end" is one of my life quotes unironically. It's just so powerful and so Tony and I love him so much. And I love that Tony in this movie finally finds peace and happiness and his sacrifice isn't a suicide, it's him protecting what he loves and what he's fought for and the family he's built. He's not an Avenger--he is Earth's best defender.
So there you go! That is a massive response but I have a lot of feelings on this haha 😂 the first three phases of Marvel will always always always be dear to my heart and I really appreciate the chance to gush about them again! Thanks!!

I wonder if the show is gonna try making an excuse for the predictable Loki in Ragnarok by saying he's the one that went along with the TVA so he's the one that goes along with people's expectations of him
if they're going meta i want the TVA to especially complain about the amount of Lokis they have to erase regularly because there were SO many points at which he explicitly could've tipped over into the opposing side of bad/good

Summary - Natasha is forced to confront her past after a certain witch decides to play mind games with the Avengers; that includes remembering the one person she regrets failing the most.
Pairing - Natasha Romanoff x KGB!reader
Warning(s) - The Red Room being shitty, canon typical violence, angst
Word Count - 4.2k
a/n - This could be read as a one-shot or I could extend it into a series, that I have definitely not started to plan out. I’ll leave it up to you guys. ;)
- Also, the vibe of their relationship was inspired by the song of the same title as the fic by FINNEAS. It’s nice and heartbreaking, but also one of my favorite songs so give it a listen.
- Last thing, this won’t impact the fic a ton, but I’m making Natasha’s past more comic aligned, meaning her date of birth is around the 1930s, not the 80s like in the MCU; so just keep that in mind.
Pt.1 Pt.2
Tumblr media
If you would have told younger Natasha Romanoff that she would one day be fighting an evil sentient robot with the help of a god, a science experiment, a world class narcissist, and a SHIELD agent, she would have laughed in your face and then probably killed you.
But here she was, on a dark, humid cargo ship in the middle of Africa engaged in a three way shootout between the Avengers, Ultron, and some weapons dealers.
As soon as the shooting had started, she formed a list of the threats present in order of priority.
First, Tony’s murder bot and his, its? minions. She supposes a robot couldn’t possess a gender, but something about it was distinctly male. Probably the giant ego and the inability to listen to anyone except himself. Ultron wouldn’t bother her, he would most likely be engaged with Tony for a bit before making his escape. Nothing she and her twin glocks could do to stop that.
Next, his smaller robot clones. Those he would most definitely leave on the boat to add to the chaos and provide a distraction for his escape. They would be shooting at her, but more importantly, she could help take them out in return.
Finally, whatever mercenaries were left on the boat from the deal they had with Ultron. She almost didn’t consider them at all. Sure, they’d be running around shooting at everything, but they were like flies to her: low threat, annoying, loud.
With the mental list successfully mapped out in her mind, she chances a peak around the corner she was using for cover, immediately putting two bullets in a merc across the walkway.
She turns to intercept one of the bots making its way over to Clint when a loud crash sounds from the deck below her. A blue blur lands roughly into a pile of crates and that’s when she remembers the twins.
She chastises herself for leaving them out of her mental game plan.
The Maximoffs are unknowns, and that fact alone is enough to put them on the top of the threat list.
Natasha lets her body go on autopilot, relying back on her life of training to shoot at the remaining men and androids alike, while her mind is occupied with assembling a file on the enhanced.
The boy would be annoying, but she doubts that he would try and seriously harm any of them. The most she’d have to deal with is getting the wind knocked out of her after getting pushed down by him.
The girl however, was truly something that could provide a real threat towards the team. Natasha thought back to when they first encountered her at the HYDRA base, how Tony went radio silent before returning with the scepter, and how he didn’t seem entirely present on the flight back to the tower.
Thor’s voice interrupted her assessment as he announced that the witch had tried to warp his mind, but that his mightiness was sufficient to thwart her attack.
“Steve, you hear that?” The assassin checked on her comms, only to be met with a silence that made the hairs on the back of her neck stand up.
“Thor, Steve, are you receiving me?” She tries again, adjusting her earpiece for good measure.
The ship was eerily quiet, as if all the sound around her was sucked out, as if she were the only remaining entity on the battlefield; and only now did she process how hot it was and how the dim lighting added to her unease.
She decided that checking on the boys had just shot to the top of her priority list and moved to descend the stairs when a presence moved out of the shadows next to her.
The next thing she knew she was no longer—
How
How did she end up back at the one place she had actively avoided going back to for the past few decades.
She looked around, now wondering why, why she would be thrust into this living nightmare where the walls felt like they were closing in on her and she couldn’t help but shake the feeling of being watched.
That notion of prying eyes didn’t go away, even as she swung her head around, sweeping the location for unwanted persons just as she had been taught here all those years ago. She turned around, poised for an attack, expecting to find Petrovitch or Madame B or something there besides the emptiness. Only to be met with the pristine ceramic floors and the old wooden walls.
Has this place always been this unnerving? She supposes so and chalks up her unease to the time and distance spent away and in the safe arms of SHIELD. She had gone soft. Or maybe it was the fact that she hadn’t always been lucid during her time here.
That didn’t matter though. All that mattered was the fact that she was here.
Alone.
Or so she thought before she finally noticed a figure pass through the hall in front of her, wrapping around the corner before she could start to analyze them.
Almost as if she didn’t have a choice, her legs started to move after the person, an invisible force tying her to them; who was it?
The path was one that led her down many cold, dark halls that felt foreign at first, until the familiarity of the place crept up from the recesses of her unwilling mind. Her entire childhood that she had worked so hard to shut out was being thrown right back into her face as she was forced to relive it.
She spotted them again right before they ducked into a room, shutting the door behind them.
She knew it wasn’t locked though, their doors never had that capability. Personal privacy was not a luxury they were afforded here.
She paused as her hand brushed the door handle; did she really want to face this, to face you?
She didn’t have a choice though, and it was silly to entertain the idea of one at all.
So she went in.
You were leaning up against the wall, your arms crossed over your chest and your head down in waiting.
You look up though when she walks through the door, a smile on your face as you push off the wall and close the distance between the two of you, gently closing the door behind your Natalia.
There’s almost no distance in between you two and her breath hitches as she looks into your eyes.
Those eyes that once were the center of her whole world, the ones that stubbornly held so much light and love despite all of the things they had seen. The ones that she had fallen in love with and found shelter in throughout the darkest part of her life.
Too bad she never had the chance to tell you any of those things.
Too bad you weren’t actually here.
But you were, right?
She cups her hand around your cheek, fingers brushing lightly against your jawline. It felt so real, you were warm, and you were standing right in front of her; so close that she could feel your breath on her skin.
“I miss you.” Was all that she could manage to get out, her voice so quiet she thought that maybe it would go undetected.
It worries her when a few seconds go by without a response, but that dissipates when she hears your voice.
“Oh Natalia.” You say, equally as quiet as a sad smile graces your face.
She can’t take it anymore.
The way you’re looking at her with those disappointed puppy dog eyes, the knowledge of chances not taken haunting her, her want need to be even closer to you.
So she closes her eyes and kisses you.
It surprises her when you kiss her back with equal fervor. It shouldn’t when she knows what she meant to you. You hadn’t been scared to let her know you loved her. She just regrets that she never told you her own feelings.
But you are here now and she is kissing you so she tries to pour all of her love into this one moment.
You stay locked in that embrace for as long as you can before you pull away, out of breath.
She looks at you and notices your face is wet with tears before feeling her own tears streaming down her cheeks.
Apparently that had been something you both desperately needed.
You step back, creating distance between the two of you and allowing the cold to wrap itself around her now that your presence is gone.
The silence was deafening as she waited for you to say something, her cheeks still flushed from the heat of the kiss.
This was how it was supposed to be: you two against the world, finding solace in the love you shared, and using it to shield yourselves from the horrors that were thrown at you.
She let that thought envelop her for a moment before once again being distracted by the silence and your movement along with it.
You had your back turned to her now, the sole dim lightbulb warping your frame and turning your naturally soft aura into the sinister one they had beaten into you from before you could speak.
“Why did you let them take me?” You voice the question that she had been tormenting herself with ever since she last saw you.
You round on her now, your voice taking on an edge that made her want to bolt. The accusing glint in your eyes causing her to break eye contact with you; something she hadn’t done since entering the room.
“You’re a coward, Natalia.”
Gone was the soul she had fallen in love with, the one she had shared an intimate moment with just seconds before. It had been wiped, replaced with one bent on destruction and making her crumble.
The dormitory that had once been a sanctuary for her, a place to shut herself in with no one else but you, suddenly seemed too dark, too cold, too hostile. You had provided the light that she needed to keep going, but now you had turned on her, effectively plunging her into darkness.
“Umph.” Her back hit the door roughly as you had rushed her, pinning her there with your hand around her neck.
“Please,” she started, but you cut her off by slapping her harshly across the face.
“No. I’m dead, and it’s all your fault.”
You release the death grip you had on her and stalk out of the room, disappearing into the darkness of the hallway outside.
The redhead bent over to refill her lungs before whirling around to sprint after you.
But you were gone.
Slipped from her grasp into the night air.
And just like before, there was nothing she could do to stop it.
She lowered herself onto the ground, a choked sob escaping her lips as she closed her eyes and hugged her knees close to her chest.
She didn’t know what to do so she just sat there, squeezing her eyes as tight as she could and hoping that you would come back.
Then she heard a voice calling her name, one that brought her comfort and safety.
“Natasha. Natasha, come on!”
It wasn’t you though as she had hoped for, it was the wrong voice and the wrong name.
The voice was pleading though, and she didn’t like how sad it sounded so she forced herself to open her eyes and look at the man kneeling in front of her.
It was Clint; his eyes full with worry. Oh how she was glad to see him. Her best friend, her partner in crime, her brother. She quickly gauged her surroundings and noticed that somehow she had been moved to the Quinjet and that it had landed on a familiar farm.
How long was she out for?
As if reading her mind, Clint spoke up, “the Maximoff girl hit us hard, everyone except me and Tony. We needed a safe place to regroup, so I thought it was time to introduce the rest of the team to the Barton clan.
Oh, oh that’s right. Ultron, the twins, HYDRA, it was all coming back to her now. She nodded numbly towards the archer and moved to stand up, the man quickly supporting her and walking her inside the farmhouse.
She couldn’t be bothered to tune into any of the conversations going on around her, too preoccupied with the fact that she had seen you for the first time in half a century; even if it was just in her magic fueled imagination.
None of the Avengers, even Clint, had ever seen her so unnerved, and it worried them greatly, but all of them were more or less emotionally stunted, so they just made sure to give her space as they stood gathered in the living room.
What finally snapped her out of her stupor was two children barreling into the room, one little girl in particular asking to see her Auntie Nat. She smiles and is proud to say it’s only half fake as she picks up the eight year old.
She also manages to tease Laura about her pregnancy before escaping up to her usual room, letting out a sigh as she shuts the door.
Shower. She needs a shower. That will help her clear the nightmare from her mind.
To clear you from her mind.
She steps into the bathroom and sets the handle to the max temperature, using the scalding water to ground herself.
After she’s done she allows herself to sit on the bed and take a moment to process the whole thing. From the shock of seeing you again, to kissing you, to the seething rage radiating off of you as you blamed her for your fate.
She needed to remember what was real. The true events that led to you being taken from her, not the reality from the fake you that had somehow felt so real, that was what she needed to find and let play in her mind.
There wasn’t a lot to choose from, even with the time and the help from SHIELD the ever-present gaps in her memory, courtesy of the Red Room’s “conditioning”, made it hard to pin down a certain, complete moment with you.
But, after an indeterminable amount of time staring at the wall and raking through her memories, she picks one out, one that had been strong enough to stick around in her head, even after all this time.
Circa 1955
She was on a mission in Paris. Her being as efficient and ruthless as her title implied, she had completed her mission almost 24 hours prior to when she was originally due to report back.
Deciding that a small break would be in everyone’s best interest, but mostly hers, she chose to not contact her handlers about the early mission accomplished and instead took time to explore the City of Light.
A small part of her wondered if they would know, if she should just call them and head back to base like they would want her to, but a larger part of her was disgusted at the mere thought of going back, so she broke protocol after making absolutely certain that there was no way they could find out.
After a day of playing a ditzy American tourist and checking out the city she found herself back at her hotel, dreading her extraction time.
She was sitting on the balcony, a bold move for an assassin of her caliber, but at this point she couldn’t bring herself to care if someone shot her; maybe the world would be a better place after her death.
“What are you thinking about?” A voice sounded from within the hotel room, a voice belonging to the only person in the world that could sneak up on her like that. A voice that belonged to her one soft spot.
And there you were, standing with your hands shoved into your pockets like a shy school kid, even if you hadn’t held that sort of innocence in a long, long time.
She tilts her head down slightly, but not before you catch the blush spreading quickly across her face, which was framed beautifully by the pale moonlight from outside.
“Just you,” she smirked, doing well to hide the morbid topic she had truly been entrenched in, not wanting to dampen the mood when you had risked a lot to show up here.
Speaking of, she wasn’t sure where your mission was, but it definitely was not in Paris, so how did you get here? And why were you putting your neck on the line just to see her?
“Well it turns out I have impeccable timing then,” you tease, choosing to drop the obvious lie she had told. She could put all of her walls up, fool the entire world, but there was no veil of hers you couldn’t see straight through.
“How are you here?” She breathed, hesitant to really believe you were there, even as you walked out onto the balcony towards her.
“I have my ways,” you shrug, she doesn’t need to know what you did just to get a moment alone with her. “This place is beautiful at night,” you change the subject, wanting to use this time to talk about things outside of your shared occupation.
Luckily she goes along with it, nodding in agreement and turning to look at the night sky that was illuminated by the many lights of the city.
You shift, swinging up onto the railing and letting your legs dangle off the side of the, 23rd floor; if you remember correctly. Apparently you didn’t have much of an aversion to death either.
A comforting silence falls between the two of you and you decide to close your eyes and focus on the cool night wind running through your hair and the sounds of the city dozens of feet below you. It wasn’t often or, at all, really that either of you had the chance to just sit and do nothing besides enjoy the other's company and neither of you were about to let this moment pass without stopping to let it imprint in your memories.
You opened your eyes and turned to watch Natalia now. You were so in love with the girl it bordered on obsession, but you had never told her so in words. You hoped she knew; that she could tell from your actions alone, but a part of you needed to make sure that she did.
“I love you Natalia.”
The words startle her, and you can’t tell if it’s because of the actual meaning behind them or just because you had broken the peaceful atmosphere you had found yourselves in.
You hoped it was the latter.
She turned to you then, unsure of what to say, but not wanting to stay silent she whispered, “I know you do.”
You turn your face back to the sky in an effort to hide your relieved expression from the girl, but you know she can see so you adopt a blank look instead, the one you use when appearing void of all emotion.
At least you told her, you think to yourself. She knows and that’s all that matters. She didn’t need to say it back because you knew she felt the same way. You saw it in her eyes everytime she looked at you. She was just scared of what admitting it out loud might mean for the two of you and you understood that; it was why you had waited so long to tell her.
Natalia was not a mind reader though and took your actions for disappointment in her. She hated herself for being so weak when you were so brave and it broke her heart thinking that you didn’t know she loved you right back.
Needing to leave so you could get back to where you were supposed to be, you get up, making sure to leave the small item that had been hidden in your pocket in your wake.
A satisfied smile graced your face as you exited her room and walked away.
Not sure of what to do, it takes her a few minutes to move back into the room, but when she finally does, she notices the shiny gleam of something on the railing where you had been sitting.
It was a ring.
Just a small, thin band, something that would be easy to hide, even from people who were constantly scrutinizing her every move.
She took it quickly, as if it might disappear at any moment, before packing her things and heading to the extraction point.
Natasha wiped the tears that had fallen from her face as she reminisced about the moment where you had practically proposed to her.
She smiled though, as the memory of your true existence had almost completely wiped the nightmarish version from her mind.
She wasn’t able to dwell on that small victory for long though, as her mind vaulted itself into another, much darker memory.
6 months post Paris
You both had been called to Petrovitch’s office. It wasn’t an unusual occurrence and definitely not cause for alarm as you both were among the top performing agents.
Expecting a mission briefing, it took you both by surprise when you were met with Petrovitch seemingly in the middle of a meeting with an unknown man.
You both moved to the side of the room as he finished speaking with him, their slimy hands clasping together to seal whatever deal they had just arranged.
“Ah there they are, my deadliest weapons, my proudest accomplishments.” He slapped a hand on each of your shoulders, a show of power, of control.
“This one,” he gestured to you, “is yours,” he smiled then, a gross, wicked grin that sent chills down your spine.
It dawned on you then, why you were really here; you were simply a pawn, an object to be traded for money or information or god knows what else. There was also nothing you could do to stop it. All you could feel in that moment however, was relief that it was you and not her.
Never her.
This place you were at now was an absolute shithole, but at least it was familiar. The rules were known and all it took was obeying to stay alive. This new party, well you had no idea what to expect.
You desperately wanted to make eye contact with her, but there was no way you could without it being blatantly obvious.
“Follow me,” the dark-haired man ordered and you moved from your position next to Natalia, your legs feeling like lead as you walked toward the door. The portal that would separate you from her for the rest of time.
You moved to shut the door behind you, glancing over your shoulder as you did, allowing you to finally lock eyes with your love. In that split second you had before it closed you tried to make sure that she knew it wasn’t her fault, that you would be okay, and that you loved her.
Then your sight line was cut off from those sad, green eyes as you walked away, the latch ringing loudly in your ears, and Natalia didn’t even bother to hide her fear from Petrovitch.
“Do you know why I called you in here, huh?” The man had the audacity to speak to her, to taunt her with her loss.
She glared at him then as she pieced it all together. He must have known, somehow, but you had been so careful.
“I wanted to see the look on your face as they were taken away. And you didn’t disappoint.”
She clenched her jaw hard in an effort to keep her anger at bay, but that action alone was enough to cause the man to laugh in her face.
“You two were so funny. Thinking you could sneak around without getting caught. You were subtle, I’ll give you that, but I see everything.”
Still she didn’t bite, even if all she wanted to do was kill the man where he stood and then burn this place to the ground.
“This place,” he waved a hand around for emphasis, “is not one for friends, for allies. I thought you knew that.” He cocked his head then, his methodical pacing coming to a stop right in front of her, daring her to make a move against him.
And she was so close to smacking the smug look off of his face, but she couldn’t give him this satisfaction, not after all he had done to her.
Noticing her increasing anger at him, the man decided to give a final push. “Do you know who that was?”
Of course she didn’t, but he felt the need to rub it in her face as much as possible. To break her, she supposed; she hated to admit that it was working. You were her weak spot, and he knew it.
“I’m not going to tell you,” she could practically feel him preening at his own comment. “All you need to know is that he represents an organization that specializes in, hmm, breaking people in the most archaic ways, in the name of science of course; until they outlive their usefulness that is.”
That’s it, she wasn’t going to let him stand there all smugly after slandering your name by spelling out how you were going to be tortured and killed. “You bastard.”
“There she is,” he chuckles before backhanding her across the face.
A knock on the door before two guards come in.
Petrovitch turns, finally addressing someone that wasn’t her. “Take her, remind her of what happens when you forget your place.”
Natasha snaps back to the present then, not sure if she could handle remembering what had happened to her next.
The scars littering her mind and body were reminder enough.
And anyways, Clint was at her door, telling her that she needed to come down and eat something. He wouldn’t be bothering her if there wasn’t an important reason for her to get up so she hastily wiped her eyes and followed him down the stairs.
The ring you gave her weighing heavily on her finger, and her mind.

PART 1 | PART 2 | PART 3
Driving past the New York City lights of the night, you wipe away a few more tears that have started to dry on your cheeks. Something about the city at night always calmed you down, always had a sense of ease to you. You knew to others the city at night was not their cup of tea, but seeing the lights at night and the city life change completely from day to night, it always made you curious. That and with you growing up in rural Indiana with your mother before moving in with your father, you always romanticized cities, and living in one of the most famous ones always made you feel some type of way.
You parked your car outside of the old Avengers Tower in the city, a place you used to call a safe haven. You had so many fond memories of this tower when you first started living with your father. The Avengers forming, bonding with new people, and finally finding a family that loved you as much as you loved them.
Your mother wasn’t a kind woman, and your father knew that. When she told him she was pregnant, he wanted to help in the beginning, but she was a stubborn lady. She gave in and took his money once you were born, but really only used it on herself, buying herself expensive bags and other luxury items. Some days you would only have one meal, meals provided to you by the school, and when your teacher started to notice some things and questioned you about your home life, you were taken away from your mother. Luckily your father had kept tabs on you throughout your life, so he came in to rescue you, despite all the problems he had going on in his own life, and took you home with him instead of letting you be shuffled around the foster system.
You were always grateful to your dad for doing that. He was always a big inspiration to you once you knew how to look things up on the computer. Once you finally got to be with him, you knew you wanted to be just like him. He showed you his suits, and his lab, and when he finished the former Avengers Tower, he gave you the grand tour, even making a beautiful bedroom for you to be in when in New York. Little did he know at the time he would decide to permanently stay in the state.
You wiped away more tears as the memories of the building came to surface. Luckily, nobody has bought the building yet, and you still have a set of keys and login information, so you walk in. Disarming the security box and walking towards the elevators, you notice all the details that remain that haven’t been cleaned yet. The arrow holes in the walls from when Thor and Hawkeye had a silly argument, the shield marks in the columns when Steve was fighting off one of the many unwanted villains, and the shattered glass from when Ultron first invaded the tower the night of the party.
As the elevator doors open up, you step inside and hit your favorite button of all, the one to your residential floor. All of your key childhood memories that you created with your father live within this floor. Hearing the stories of him fighting Ivan Vanko and how much he hated Justin Hammer. You loved hearing his former Iron Man stories, and seeing him actually fight. When Thanos sent his men to Earth for the time stone, you were on a field trip with Peter, which he left to go help. You wanted to go so badly and see what you could do, but you heard your father’s voice in your head telling you to stay out of it and be safe.
You sigh as you walk off the elevator. You look around as the floor is practically empty, remembering that all the residential stuff was moved to the compound or put into storage. Part of you still wishes you lived in the tower, for many different reasons. It would definitely save time getting to and from school, and going to Peter and May’s apartment, but also you were so attached to this place growing up, it always made you smile.
Opening the door to your old bedroom, you see a few things left, like your old chemistry station, and a few dolls scattered here and there. You smile at what was parts of your adolescence, basking in the feeling of a time where you knew your father and the people around you actually cared about you. Now your life is filled with loneliness and hurt, with always playing second best, no matter the situation you’re in.
Suddenly, you hear a crunch behind you, making you freeze. You feel your heart rate pick up, so you take slow, deep breaths. Quickly turning around, you pull out your pepper spray and have it at the ready, knowing how to defend yourself as you were taught from an early age.
“Woah, woah, it’s just me!” Peter exclaimed, backing up slowly with his arms up. You sigh and put the pepper spray away, but still giving him a dirty look.
“How did you get here so fast? And also why are you here?” You questioned him, raising your eyebrows slightly.  You were still on edge from everything that’s happened tonight, and seeing Peter just show up unannounced after he didn’t defend you or even check up on you raised some questions for you.
“I wanted to go check up on you, but Pepper told me that Mr. St-your dad should be the one to do so, and thought it would be better if I left. I knew you weren’t going to stay there so I came here, because I remember how fondly you spoke about living at the tower and being here,” he explained.
Your features soften a little bit, as the caring nature of the Peter you grew to love was starting to show again. But in your heart you knew you were still mad at him. Between the coldness of his attitude towards you ever since you were snapped back into existence, and him allowing your father to yell at you and say those hurtful things, you knew you had to keep your guard up.
“Well I appreciate you coming, but you should probably go, because you may not know this but I’m still angry with you.” You stated, crossing your arms a little.
“W-Why Y/N? I told you Pepper said-“
“I don’t care what Pepper said, Peter! Why did you let him say those things to me? Why didn’t you defend me Peter?” You questioned, hurt evident in your voice.
You saw the guilt spread across his face. You knew Peter did everything for a reason, but this time, you really just weren’t sure what that reason may be. He was always so caring and quick to defend his friends and loved ones, that’s one reason why he wanted to become Spider-Man, to help other with his big, compassionate heart. Which made him not standing up for you even worse.
“I-I…I don’t know,” he answered with a puzzled look on his face.
You sighed. “You’re supposed to be there for me, you’re my boyfriend for crying out loud! You are one of the most caring people I know. I thought you cared about me. Maybe you used to, but lately…” You said, your sentence tapering off at the end.
Peter’s entire demeanor changes. “No, no, no, I do care about you, Y/N, I truly do,” he told you, coming quickly to your side and holding you close. “Please don’t ever question my feelings or loyalty to you.”
“Then why have you been acting so weird lately? And why didn’t you defend me tonight?” You asked, looking up with tears brimming the surface of your lids. You thought you had cried enough tonight to last a lifetime, but seeing Peter in front of you and talking about everything that was bothering you right here, right now, just brought on a whole new set of water works. He looks down at you and wipes a few tears away.
“All my life, I’ve had traumatic things, one after the other, coming towards me. Between my parents, and Uncle Ben, and becoming Spider-Man, Thanos just took a lot out of me. Missing out on 5 years of my life? That’s big,” he explained to you. “And I thought I was going to lose Mr. Stark, but luckily everything with that worked out. I guess I’m just scared of losing another big figure in my life.”
“But instead you’d rather lose your girlfriend?” You questioned, pulling away slightly to look him in the eye. He pulls back from you, breaking your hug. You can tell on his expression you may have surprised a little too much.
“No, of course not! I just-uh-I think Mr. Stark is super intimidating and I don’t want to hurt his feelings, nor get on the wrong side of him. But you? You me everything to me Y/N, you come first on my priority list, I promise you that,” he explains to you. You couldn’t help but blush and understand where he was coming from. When you first met your dad, you too were intimidated by him, I mean, how can you not. The money, power, and just your father’s attitude alone was able to make even his peers or other celebrities intimidated.
You give him a weak smile. “Well he already likes you, so you don’t have to try so hard to get on his good side. He likes you more than he likes me,” you sighed.
“Hey don’t say that, Y/N,” he rushed to your side, holding you close. “Of course he loves you, he loves you so, so much.”
“Oh yeah? Then why doesn’t he act like it?” You pouted, the sadness in your voice very present. You hated that you had insecurity surrounding your relationship with your father, but the problem mainly relies on him, as you try to reach out and bond with him time and time again, but lately, ever since everyone came back from the snap, he’s giving you nothing to work off of.
“I wish I could answer that for you, but your dad doesn’t confined in me. Maybe you should try sitting down and asking him, having someone one-on-one time with him,” Peter suggested, making you scoff. Lately, one-on-one time with your father was more rare than winning the lottery. Between meetings, recruitment, trips, and spending time with Pepper and Morgan, the man hardly ever has alone time anymore.
“Yeah, like that will happen.”
“You never know. And whatever happens, I will have your back, 100%. Because I love you,” he tells you.
Your give him a heartfelt smile, pulling him in tighter for a hug. You feel him stroke your hair a bit, giving you a soft kiss on the temple. Before coming to the tower, you thought things between you and Peter were starting to dwindle, that the flame was finally going out, much to your dismay. But standing here and talking with him, understanding what’s been going on, means a lot, and you really appreciated him helping you out by talking you down off your negative pedestal. Maybe Peter is right, and talking to your dad could benefit you like your talk with Peter just did. All you had to do was go back to the compound, and who knows how long it will take you to muster up the courage to go and face him again.

You backed up against the wall. The feeling inside you was something you had felt before. Loneliness, but it was more than that. You felt completely alone in the world. Like no one was on your side and nothing would ever be okay. You put your hand on your heart to make sure it hadn't been ripped violently out of your chest. You stumbled back against the wall and when your back hit, you slid down. Realizing it was over with Natasha hit like a truck, but it was a different realization that had dragged you tot the ground. Wanda. Everything you'd had with her at Hydra, it had been forced. The fog in your mind had been their during your first kiss with her. It had been there through your entire relationship, forcing you to participate. She had used you like a puppet, forcing you to bend to her will and worst of all, she had ruined things with the one person you had every truly lo-
Wanda came around the corner.
"Hey y/n, are you-" You scrambled back against the wall and put up flimsy shield in your mind to keep her out.
"Woah, hey are you okay?" You looked  around frantically, praying that anyone would pass. Luckily someone did. You jumped up and grabbed his arm. He looked at you, shocked.
"Just keep walking," you whispered and he did. When you reached the kitchen, he looked you up and down.
"Who are you escaping, Midgardian?" You shook your head and pulled your arm from his,
"It's nothing. I'm fine. Thanks for your help."
"You are very welcome. Protecting Midgardians is my duty."
"Thanks for the help, Thor." He nodded,
"Do you have a second name lady y/n? I've learned the on Midgard, when one does not have a title, those around them address them by their second name and you didn't mention one earlier." You smile faltered slightly,
"I don't believe I have one. I didn't exactly grow up in the best of circumstances." Thor just nodded, his smile never slipping.
He paused for a moment, seemingly having an idea,  "Would you like to be escorted to your room, you seem to be in peril?"
"That's okay, I'm not in too much peril. I'll see you tomorrow, Thor."
You headed up to your room.
____
It seemed almost greyer in your room now, not that that was possible. The cloud of sadness around you was palpable. You sat back on your bed and began untying your shoes. suddenly the bathroom door flung open and a man stood their, completely naked. You cringed back and put a hand over your eyes.
"Um, hi"
"Hello, Midgardian."
"Not to be rude or anything, but why are you in my room?"
"this is the guest room, is it not?" You shook your head,
"Could you put on some pants, then we can  have a proper conversation." You hear him move around a bit and eventually he spoke.
"You may uncover your eyes." You did so and felt a slight blush cover your cheeks. He raised an eyebrow at you,
"Like what you saw?" You couldn't help but to scoff,
"Uh, no. Why are you in my room?"
"As I asked before, isn't this the guest room?"
You shrugged,
"Um, I guess."
"Oh, I apologize for my rudeness, I am Loki, currently God of Mischief."
"Currently?" you asked, a bit confused,
"Yes, I am the Goddess of Mischief more and more lately." You nod,
"So you're Thor's sibling then?"
"ADOPTED sibling, but yes."
"Cool, I'm y/n. I think your room is the next one over." Loki nodded,
"I apologize for the intrusion." He looked you up and down,
"I'll see you soon, y/n."
____
You laid back on your bed, your mind racing.. 'I always kept my mind open to her because I trusted her, but now...she's almost as bad as they were. If Tasha hadn't walked in, would she have made me do more? Tasha. Does she hate me? Why wouldn't she listen? If I told her the truth, would she still blame me?'
Your door opened and Wanda walked in. You jumped up, flipping out a knife on instinct.
"G-get out. You're not welcome in here."
Wanda reached out to touch you, but you flinched back.
"Please, don't be scared of me. Look, I made a mistake. Let me make it up to you."
You shook your head, "You think you can make it up to me?" She was crying and it took effort to stop yourself from comforting her. The betrayal came swimming back though and that urge was replaced by anger.
"Our entire relationship, since we started, you've been making me...?"
"Not making you, I just put the thoughts there. I stopped making you when we were still at Hydra."
You held back the tears, but you couldn't make your expression go hard,
"I can't believe this. Everything we had was a disgusting lie? You used me, you manipulated me."
Wanda reached out for you again, "Please, Y/n-" but you weren't done. You had more to say, more to yell at her for.
"The first time we kissed, you promised you wouldn't hurt me. Promised me that I could trust you."
"Y/n, what you and I have, it is real. Please." There was no holding back the tears after that, so you just let them flow.
"You lied to me, Wanda. You were the only person in the world I trusted for a fucking decade and it was all a manipulation."
"No, please. I lo- I love you." You cut off the tear flow and hardened your expression,
"Just stay away from me." Wanda took a step closer and again you flinched back, but this time you backed over something. You fell back onto your hands, feeling something break under you, but Wanda was still moving towards you. You scuttled away from her with growing urgency. Apparently the commotion had alerted Natasha and suddenly she was standing between the two of you, her hand on her gun.
One look at your face and she knew something was off. Before you could stop her, Nat had her gun pointed towards Wanda as she stalked her back against the wall.
"What did you do to her?" Nat's voice was calm but you could almost smell the anger on her.
"Tasha, put that down!" Nat looked at you and in that second Wanda's hands started to glow red. You jumped between them, absorbing the energy from Wanda's blast. You didn't fly back like a normal non super human would've but you did have to take a few steps to keep from falling over. The burning though, was not something you powers could help you with.Natasha was watching you,
"What did she do to you?" You shook your head,
"It's not important."
"Y/n. Now."
"She used her powers to force me to kiss her in the hall so you would see and we would break up." You mumbled it, almost inaudibly, but Natasha was, well Natasha and once again her anger sparked at your words. You turned away from her.
"Look, Tasha, I know you felt really betrayed when you saw us, so if you still need time to...figure things out..." When you turned to look for her again, she was gone. In her place, a woman who looked a lot like Loki leaned against the wall, you remembered what she had told you about being gender-fluid.
"Sorry, I don't think that was meant for me."
"No, it's fine. If she doesn't want us, I guess it's not happening." Loki shrugged,
"So, that must have burned at least a little?" You shook your head,
"I'm fine." Loki scrunched up her face, making you laugh and conveniently change conversation topics.
"You're much prettier as a girl." Loki flipped her hair,
"I know." You laughed, but it wasn't real. Loki watched you, concerned,
"I must be on my way, shall I bring you takeout?" You nod and she swaggered out of your room.
____
For three days, you remained mostly in your room, partially because of  the large and rather painful burn on your stomach, but mostly because of Wanda and Natasha. Loki would come in in both forms and bring you food, watch movies, and just generally annoy you. You were the only one who didn't see her as a villain and respected him for real and not just on Thors' request. Because of this, the two of you had become friends.
Loki walked in with a pizza and a DVD,
"I believe this is the one you requested." You smiled at him,
"Sit lets watch." About halfway through the movie, you turned to Loki,
"Why do you think it happened?"
"Well, the redheaded Midgardian was so focused on the blonde Midgardian, she neglected Ducky and he got angry." You shook your head,
"Not Pretty in Pink, although I agree with you. Why do you think Wanda did it?"
Loki said nothing, but purses his lips,
"Loki?"
"I don't know, maybe...never mind."
"Finish that thought" You narrowed your eyes at him and he rolled his in return,
"It's nothing." But at your look he realized you weren't giving up.
"Fine, but you're not going to like it..." when you didn't respond he continued, "sometimes, I manipulate people because otherwise they wouldn't notice me. Maybe she was just afraid you would say no..." suddenly his unusual vulnerability was replaced at once by his familiar haughtiness, "Of course, I wouldn't know. Midguardians are so stupid."
