Hi hello I have two questions for yall

does anyone here know decent book editing software that isnt indesign because i cant afford indesign and its a little incomprehensible (pretty much I'm looking how I can edit a book with spread pages and images) nothing insanely fancy, I am just looking to turn one of my big lore google docs into something nice and art-book looking I wanna be able to do something like this, for example

what I am looking to do is basically turn my challenger deep lore doc into an actual lore book so I will hopefully do some illustrations for it down the line for each section of it. so the next question is then:

would any of you be interested in purchasing that? it would be digital (unless there's an insane amount of interest for physical editions, in which case I will consider it)

honestly it’s a bit hard for me to choose!! it’s def a tie between praying mantis and centipedes but recently I’ve been rlly fond of spiders as well. Like my favorite spiders are spiny orb weevers and jumping spiders, my favorite centipedes are blue legged centipedes and I pretty much love all mantis variations. But I also have a soft spot for bees and wasps as well, like carpenter bees. And then there’s also those glow in the dark millipedes I’d love to someday go see. basically um A LOT OF BUGS ^__^

Who/what is your biggest inspo for poetry or art?

aagh i dont think i'll ever have one biggest inspo for poetry n art i just have a lot of lads which i like specific things about + those likes are still always ongoing and changing lol (which btw ty for askin bout poetry cause i LOVE it n i never get asked abt poetry hehe)

I have a big ol google doc where i have lines of fav poetry i write down when i come across them (usually when im just scrollin the internets) and atm I've been noticing that a lot of lines i keep enjoying are all by Mary Oliver even tho i've yet to read her collection of poetry!!! so that's on my to-do list C: other poets who's names keep poppin up in that google doc are ocean vuong, richard siken, chen chen and uhh flatsound? they do more music but they've done some spoken word stuff and their songs just feel close enough to the realm of poetry to me u know

Art stuff... lol which medium?? /lh I really like thomas jordan's photography (the COLOURS my DUDE) mmm shelia berger's kinetic sculptures and KICKASS "Bird Show" encaustic paintings (i watched the rlly short like 5 min documentary on her and i was enraptured) Spencer finch has got a lot of cool conceptual art stuff like i think CIE 529 418 (CANDLELIGHT) is rlly cool!! Holly warb and @/vchienart both got some lovely lovely illustrations/paintings with soft beautiful colours... @/emilienunez has some really pretty and elegant yet v cute ceramics!! and @/soonthemoon some really like cute warm n cozy ones... Oof there's so many digital artists i love ;-; and i keep finding new cool lads aghh @catnippackets has such a good grasp on like form n shape if that makes sense?? like drawin people in these rlly fluid poses in like silky lineart aaa i found @milkdudz 's art recently and i LOVE their art style and their cats are just. perfect balance of spiky and soft n very very Cat which is so good @everydaylouie u gotta know louie right ?? how can someone make such lovely 2d and 3d art and music and also know how to code n make lil games. that is too much power for one soul to possess nifty-senpai's art n animations and designs ofc!! are incredible!! and i REALLY love their concepts for what the wc clan territories look like (this moonpool are you kidding me???? gorgeous) @thunderc1an's lineless art style my beloved...... yall clammorin about my lineless art style u GOTTA check out theirs so good (also the everchanging never the same designs for wc characters is so good so freeing so interesting to look at!!) (we spent a week there in november & he REALLY loved it, was totally 100% raring to get out there asap, but i mulled it over for like another day before coming back with "alright. ok. see. in order for me to trust that this is truly an Informed Consent Choice, i feel like i need us to be there for Death Heat Season, & once we're in the middle of the 6 straight weeks of 110+ degree temperatures, if you can THEN, in THAT MOMENT, look me in the eye and say again YES I WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO LIVE HERE--at THAT point we are GOOD & i am FULLY BACK ON BOARD.")

i do hate the idea of dealing with more rental nonsense, landlords, etc for another most-of-a-year, but like...this is objectively the smarter, more responsible path to take here. since my number one priority is to make super extra certain that roommate doesn't experience quality-of-life-worsening health complications from the climate & such. not to mention it WILL be WAY the fuck easier to house shop locally vs. from another state, plus i'll have time to scope out neighborhood vibes, read up on + get prepped for the whole ADU construction process, find a good realtor, etc.

i'm...actually lowkey hella optimistic about it. which has taken me a bit by surprise.

i had a lot of little experiences on that november trip that i just felt stack themselves up in my mind both logically &...almost spiritually..? & coalesce into this weird broad sweeping sense that This Choice Would Be a Correct One.

(not THE Correct One. i feel like--at least just for me--there are a couple different paths i could take that would feel Equally Correct. tbh if it was just me alone i'd probably be heading to either denver or seattle or chicago. (vetoed by roommate for being respectively Too High, Too Wet, & Too Cold--which, fair on all counts lol.)

more thinking-out-loud (via-blogging-in-silence) on this to come in the next couple months probably. all of january & the first half of february are Mini Death Work Blitz Time this year, so i have been & am still doing that. but one month from yesterday i will have launched TWO BIG OL WEBSITE PROJECTS & then i get paid ALL THE MONEY AT ONCE & then i'll probably sleep for like three days straight & THEN i'll have the headspace to start thinking about how many things need to get done in order for moving to successfully happen. :D fuck. :D :D
