I wish I could live in this scene forever #now this is a super long post and I know it won't get many notes and it was surely made before... but I needed to make this for myself... #so here it is :) I'm tired but I love it #GOD the way Harry goes full baby when Adam caresses his cheek and he SMILES LIKE THAT! By implying that children are too stupid and rude to learn about the world and learn how the world works and how to interact with others, you are casting responsibility away from the people who are responsible for that child's upbringing and placing the blame on the children (who don't have the autonomy given to them to be allowed to decide what they want) who can't help what they do and do not learn, often.

If the children aren't okay, then investigate why before turning to thought-terminating clichés of, "Well, the kids are just stupid and dumb and aren't even worth the effort because they're lazy!"

#youth liberation #i was really bothered when i saw this clip where this person was saying almost verbatim that... #...'kids [these days] are too STUPID and they're teachers are scared!'... #...why is the blame placed on the kids who have no control over school curriculum and what their home life is like or if they have money... #...it's because when you place the blame on the people with no power or control you don't have the responsibility to change circumstances.. #...you essentially keep the status quo while simultaneously belittling a group of vulnerable people... #...and thus you feed into the cyclical nature of the broken education system #the kids these days AREN'T okay but it ISN'T THEIR FAULT... #...it's the fault of late-stage capitalism and poorly-funded education and a world that wasn't even built with them in mind... #...they had NO PART in the creation of the world which is hostile to their entire existence #don't mind the incorrect usage of their in the second tag i was so focused on how pissed i was #also remember how a good chunk of these kids lived through *checks notes* the fucking PANDEMIC LOCKDOWN #which was a clown show in terms of supporting kids and their parent/s #some places handled lockdown in the US better than others but holy fuck in my area at least it was a nightmare #what do you expect from parents who are now working full-time and teaching part/full-time and parenting full-time? #what support exactly are you expecting they recieved? because you'll likely find they got either a little or NONE #hilarious that i used the wrong their in a post subtweeting about education LOL #look i was focused on how PISSED i was lol cut me some slack here

anon thanks for sending that comment re: biphobia in a recently reblogged daniil-eva comic, I appreciate that you did decide to message me about it! absolutely my bad. that's a blind spot for me as a bisexual who calls myself gay a lot of the time (although, seeing op's tags should have clarified they were depicting the two as not bisexual), but the real-world harm in showing a gay man and gay woman together is something I should've been attentive to, especially with the gender dynamic in Eva being the canonically bi character. rb deleted, I'll be keeping it in mind in the future 👍

Half eaten apple cider doughnuts, pumpkin cupcake wrappers, and red solo cups sticky with remnants of spiked hot chocolate litter the coffee and side tables in the living room. The TV is still playing in the background, some slasher flick Annie had popped in before her and Ruby had finally called it a night, promising to return bright and early the next morning to finish planning.  

Which really meant late afternoon for Annie.  

Beth shuffles around the living room, trash bag hanging loosely in hand as she gathers up used paper plates and napkins, wrinkling her nose as she tosses them inside. She briefly wonders if a councilwoman's salary can afford her a housekeeper somewhere down the line, before her thoughts are interrupted by the revving of a chainsaw and a truly disgusting noise that sounds like— 

Yup, Beth thinks as she glances over at the TV just as some random serial killer hacks up some random camp counselor, bone and flesh being torn apart. 

Beth winces as massive amounts of blood start squirting out of various appendages, making a mental note to never let Annie make the pick for movie night again.

hello beloved writing mutuals, followers, and randos ive come to you all with a very important question and that is how. the fuck. do you write fluff without it twisting into horror. most fluff is supposed to have almost no existential dread in it right how do i take out the existential dread

#the closest ive come to fluff is either fur llama or the one im just about to post for lifesteal #but fur llama is. definitely not fluffy #and this lifesteal one Does end happy but it's mainly full of terror and sprinting #i tried to write red streaks in my hair but no stress now as something lighter and fun but then it got ambiguous ending-ed and also #it's apparently somber horror and not *checks notes* a cute story about joel starting the apocalypse and turning the entire world red #maybe the first step to removing the existential dread is to find softer prompts #like a sickfic :) with gore #seriously tho if anyone has any hot tips or tricks i would love to hear them #i am fighting for my life over here
