psa if you send me an ask and it never sees the light of day, please don't take it personally. i read every single message (i crave them. i yearn) but when i say i don't like spamming my dash i am anxiously serious. i hate posting a lot at once, have a visceral aversion to long posts (despite tumblr giving us a perfectly good J key), and don't like to speak if i have nothing to say.
then i feel anxious about 'ignoring' people thphtfdsj it's a lose/lose i'm sorry i'm a nightmare to engage with
if you send me a compliment or reaction to a fic chapter, i will adore it but probably won't post it (unless i can reply privately).
if you send me something long with pictures and paragraphs, i will adore it but feel anxious about posting it, then put it off for so long that it just stays in my inbox forever.
if you send me a question but it's buried under paragraphs, i will also feel anxious about posting it if i've already posted a lot that day, so i might take a few days to answer
but if you've sent me a question (especially an advice one) and i don't reply immediately, it's 100% because i'm intending to sit down and give it my undivided attention, and am just waiting for a day that i can spend on it
i know tumblr isn't meant to be a neat minimalist gallery viewing experience, but i am a naturally quiet person who flusters in messy conditions and worries about being too loud, even in this silent text based format.
it's not just asks: my queue is limited to twice a day (just bumped it to 3, since the end of the queue was due for MARCH) and i have over 100 posts in there just because i don't want to spam when i'm online. is why i live in the tags. and even though i reblog things willy nilly, i'm adamant to tag all my original posts (whether it's wips or personal or selfies) so the knowledge that they're easily blacklistable makes me feel less guilty about babbling.

Search, Tags, and Tumblr
Tumblr's search functions are notoriously weird, but there's a few common things to know about how it works in conjunction with Tagging. First things first:
-Tags are for searching but also personal blog organization as desired. This is why some folks have weird/funny personal use tags. Tags can use dashes and spaces, but not regular double quote marks ("), though single marks are fine (').
-Tag for what's in the post; adding other, unrelated tags "for visibility" is against Tumblr's TOS and gets you reported for Spam!
Example: if you make a post for your new Clive Rosfield screenshots, make sure you're only tagging terms relevant to Final Fantasy XVI and Clive Rosfield (and any personal organizing tags like "screenshots"); don't add tags like "Star Wars" and "SpongeBob", as Clive has nothing to do with those!
-Tag without censoring words! We use filters/blacklists here to avoid things we don't want to see. Can also work for words in the body of a post. There's no rules here against using "kill" or "death" or other terms defining common human experiences determined "too negative/dangerous" on other sites (stay civil to each other).
-If you do alt-spell things, it's only in the body of a post and usually when it's dislike of a fandom thing as a courtesy to those enjoyers. If I make a shipping post and say, for example, "I can't stand R3y|o", that's when I want to use weird spelling and symbols--and no common tags for that fandom! If you do use tags for organizing, keep it to things like "#anti (thing) or "#(thing) critical", again spelled correctly for others' blacklisting purposes and to keep it out of the Reylo Search and Tags so those fans can enjoy their ship without seeing negativity. Because...
-General Search pulls from Tags and Also terms found in the body of a post. If I just put "Thancred" in the Search bar at the top of the page, it'll show me any and all posts with "Thancred" in them, including 1) if the name is in the body of the post, 2) if the name is in a tag that's a sentence/includes other words, and 3) even if not tagged for Thancred.
This caused some wank a couple years back for certain fans when someone tagged a lascivious picture set with what they knew was a triggery NOTP for many...but they also put the characters' names in the post body, not realizing simply searching for either of those characters would pull it up (They also, IMO, should have put the images under a Read More to be doubly safe, for themselves and for others they knew might be upset stumbling onto said images, but the crux was not realizing how Tumblr Search worked).
-Tag Search specifically pulls from the tags; per Tumblr's info pages, the first 20 tags (out of 30 total allowed) now will show up in search. Common, consistent tags first are good for visibility. You can also Follow tags you want to keep track of; there's even a tab on your Dash for it.
-Reblogs do not show up in the searches, even with additions and new notes. However, a blacklist filter will catch tags put on the original post, even if the reblogger doesn't add it when it ends up on your Dash.
-You can also blacklist blog names/URLs. Think of it like Twitter's muting rather than a full block (though one can do that too, and should as needed).
Example: someone following Seanan McGuire doesn't like frogs, but she reblogs a lot of frogs. The follower blocked and blacklisted the blogs she often reblogs frogs from to minimize the number of frogs they see while still following a favorite author for her book info.
-If people ask you to tag a thing cuz it's a squick or full-on trigger, you can just do it, or you can politely say no; that's valid. It's up to that person then to decide if they want to blacklist or unfollow or block or what. Just be civil either and both ways.
In summary: if you're talking about bunnies cuz you took pictures at the local farm show, just write "bunnies" normally in the body and/or tags of the post, so anyone with "bunnies" blacklisted can avoid it--and folks who want to see cute pics of bunnies can find it!
Even if you use proper tags, or no tags, or only use alternate spellings in the post body to keep things out of the tags/searches, consider still using a Read More as a last line of courtesy to any followers or random folks you don't want to catch in the crossfire. Also consider hiding your blog from Search results, and/or Private posts.
Tumblr's Help Center (On Desktop browser, go to the "About" link, and then the "Resources" menu; on Mobile App, go to Account settings, General settings, scroll down to "Help" under "Account") has further info about Searches and Tagging (and everything else!), and as that info changes, it's a good idea to keep track of those page updates, as well as the @changes blog to keep track of new updates, bugs, recent fixes, and upcoming info.

hey minnie! I hope this is not too out of topic but I was curious why you decided to do a side-blog and if you‘d recommend it.
I’m new to tumblr and a bit clueless but I’ve been reading your blog and saw you always give amazing answers.
I have many interests but my blog is only really devoted to one because I’m scared people will get annoyed if I reblog or post about other stuff.
just now tho, I’ve seen a post from someone I always like stuff from talking about how it’s pretty rude to not reblog and just like because of the „I like it but it‘s not good enough for my followers to see“ implication. And because tumblr is supposed to be a community and reblogging is the biggest feature.
I know your main blog is also just devoted to evanstan/stucky so I thought you might understand and have some thoughts. So I guess I’m asking what were your reasons to make a side blog and is it better to have several where I might only post very sporadically or should I just say fuck it and put it all in one but risk diminishing my chances at having mutuals? Or just continue liking and not reblogging? I don‘t know tumblr etiquette but you seem very well versed in it and if I’ll listen to someone it‘s definitely gonna be you!
I hope you have a great day and I’m a big fan
Hello sweetheart! ❤️ Thank you for your ask, this is a very interesting question, actually! And I totally understand why you'd be a bit lost here and unsure how to go about this, so I'll do my best to help.
I'll put the rest of my reply under the cut, because it got kind of long (is anyone surprised, really)
First of all, I truly truly think that being on tumblr and blogging should be something that's primarily for your own enjoyment, and I think that you can literally do whatever you like! There may be a bit of etiquette, sure, but there are no real rules (apart from not being an asshole to other people, but that goes without saying). Go wild and have fun, that's the main rule of tumblr imo! <3
Having said that though, I do understand your concerns, specifically with regard to wanting to make mutuals and friends! But also, the liking but not reblogging issue *is* kind of a problem Tumblr has been facing for a while now. I always figured it was mostly due to the influence of Instagram, which it probably is, but it's interesting to get this new perspective. I don't think I'd ever really considered that there are users on this site who *only* like certain things not because they don't like the content enough to reblog it, but because the post doesn't fit their blog's theme and they don't want to spam their followers and mutuals with things they didn't sign up for. That's interesting, and a valid consideration! And also, I really like what you said about Tumblr being a community and reblogging being its biggest feature - you get it!! <3 So I understand your dilemma, and I think making a side blog would definitely solve a lot of it, to be honest.
I personally have a few different reasons for making a side blog for my other fandom instead of just reblogging everything on my main. One of those reasons is that I myself like to curate my dash quite carefully and tailor it to my interests as much as possible. I do that by following blogs that post the kind of stuff I'm interested in of course, but also by filtering pretty much everything I have no interest in. That does mean I get a LOT of filtered posts on my dash, but after a while you kind of learn to tune them out. So because that's how I like to tailor my own dash, the idea of putting lots of stuff my mutuals and followers don't care about on their dashes just doesn't feel right to me. That's not to say I blame anyone else for using their main for all of their interests, because it's their blog, and if that's how they want to do it then good for them! I'll filter out the stuff I don't want to see and then it's all good. But it's just not how I personally wanted to do it, I'm a bit too neurotic for that. Also, because my main has a lot of followers, I'd feel extra bad for spamming so many people with other stuff, you know? 😅
On a related side note, I'll admit that I have unfollowed people whose main blog theme shifted over time from our mutual interest to something I didn't know or care about, but a few posts here and there is not going to be reason for me to unfollow. It really only happens when people completely jump ship, you know? And then there are also people I have become so close with that even that didn't affect our friendship, and I am still mutuals with them just because I like them as people and I enjoy their presence on my dash, even if I don't know what they're talking about half the time 😅 By which I'm trying to say that if you make the right friends, it won't really matter what you post and where!
Another reason for making a side blog is that I liked the freedom a new blog brought to just be as unhinged as I wanted about my other ship and interests without having to keep reiterating on my main that having a "new" interest didn't mean I was giving up my other interests, you know? I like being able to post as much as I like on my sideblog without feeling like I have to hold back for whatever reason. And maybe part of it was also that a side blog allowed me to show a different side to myself there that I don't show on my main a lot? On my side blog, no one knew me or had any expectations of how I talked or what I posted, and it's just good to just do whatever!
I'm not sure if any of that is helpful to you though, if you're still quite new on Tumblr, but maybe it provides a bit of context that might be useful. While I can't tell you for sure what the right way to go about it would be for you, because it differs from person to person, I do think making a side blog (or maybe even more than one) could be a good way to separate your interests, and not having to feel like you're annoying people either by spamming them or by not reblogging their posts. I don't think it necessarily matters if you only post on your sideblogs sporadically, by the way. You can still interact with people in those fandoms and make friends and mutuals even if you don't post constantly! I've made a few new friends in the Milex/AM fandom that only pop in every now and then, and I don't like them any less for it.
It took me a hot minute to get used to having a side blog I used frequently (I have a couple more for Bangs and such, but I don't use them often) and I did accidentally post to the wrong blog quite a bit in the beginning, but it's definitely gotten easier with time! So don't be deterred by that. I'd say, give the side blog(s) a go, and if it doesn't work for you, you can just stop using them and try a different approach! I hope that whatever you settle on will help you have a more enjoyable fandom experience, in any case 💗 Hope this very long winded reply helped a little, lovely! Sending hugs xxx

How to identify stolen gifs
I've been seeing what look to be stolen gifs (stolen meaning copied and pasted either from another creator's gifset or from Google images, without giving any credit to the original creator) in the Narnia tags and wanted to address how to identify stolen gifs because this isn't the first time I've seen stolen gifs in the fandom tags.
Previously when gifs like these have been posted, they've gained a lot of notes, so I wanted to post a quick guide this time on how to identify stolen gifs so that stolen gifsets don't gain as much traction in this fandom. Creators put a lot of time into their creations, and they deserve credit for their work.
Here are some of the key clues that gifs have likely been stolen:
1. COLORING
Creators spend a lot of time making sure that coloring is consistent across a gifset, so one of the easiest ways to tell if gifs are stolen is if they look very inconsistently colored and edited. This could look like a mixture of warm-toned and cool-toned gifs, or very bright gifs mixed with duller or paler gifs. Generally, if the gifs look visually inconsistent and off, they could be stolen gifs.
2. SIZING
This is another dead giveaway. When creators make gifsets, they size the gifs so that they fit within Tumblr's dashboard requirements. Gifs must be evenly and uniformly sized so that they display correctly on the dash. For a two-column gifset, for example, gifs that are displayed next to each other will be the same height and width, or else they will display at incorrect sizes and ruin the layout and appearance of the gifset. Stolen gifs are always different sizes from each other because they have been stolen from many different posts whose original creators sized their gifs differently to fit the layout they wanted (e.g., a two-column layout of eight small gifs vs. a single-column layout of six narrow gifs).
I know that enlarging images has changed recently on mobile and become more difficult, but on desktop, it's still very easy to click on gifs and view them enlarged next to each other. If one gif is much taller or larger than the other, yet they have been posted directly next to each other in the gifset, those gifs are most likely stolen.
3. RESOLUTION/SHARPNESS
As with sizing, stolen gifs pulled from various gifsets and posted together in a new post often vary widely in their resolutions (sharpness). This is because 1.) the gifs were originally created at different resolutions and sizes to fit the layout the creator wanted, and 2.) because the gifs are not uniformly sized in the new post, they are all displaying at sizes they weren't meant to originally, which distorts their resolution. If you see a gifset with some gifs that look very sharp and others that look very blurred or distorted, it's probably made of stolen gifs.
4. TAGS
Most creators use edit tags to help their creations get more visibility (in this fandom, #narniaedit or #tconedit). They also usually use the tracked tags of other content creators (like #user[insert name], #[insert name], or #blogurl) so that those creators will reblog their gifsets and give them increased visibility.
Stolen gifsets, however, typically don't use those tags. Instead, they often use a long string of popular tags within the fandom—different variations of the fandom's name, a slew of different characters in the fandom (even if those characters don't appear in the gifset), etc. Tag spam, basically. If you see a gifset that fits the above criteria and has some wonky tags, it's most likely made of stolen gifs.
BOTTOM LINE: If you want to post gifs on your blog, reblog them from their original creators. If you want to include gifs in your own original posts but aren't able to make gifs, use Tumblr's gif search function, which gives credit to the creator of the gif. It's right in the text post editor (screenshotted below), so there's no reason to not use it.
If any gifmakers want to add on to this, please do!

A Short Guide to Tumblr Culture
If you've set up your account already, for example following this guide, it's also good to know how people use Tumblr.
tags - tagging is great to get your post seen and also great to keep some kind of order in your reblogs, but many people use tags to add an usually appreciative commentary, so the tag section can get... chatty. The commentary is usually meant for your followers and the OP.
do NOT censor words, especially not in tags. NEVER do anything like "#tw sp*ders" in tags - you'll effectively reach people who try to avoid and block this trigger. Name things properly. And also remember to disable iOS app censorship in your settings in browser if you're on iOS.
usually you don't add any captions to reblogs until you have something relevant to add or want to discuss as reblogging often results in a conversation. Starting a conversation on any creative post like fic or art is not very polite.
the comment option is barely used. Many people won't even respond to a comment if the original post was on their side blog (side blogs can't comment), and comments are generally for the OP as no one really checks the comments on someone else's post. You can definitely comment under artworks though! The writer/artist will appreciate every nice word!
you can follow reblog dominated blogs if your taste in posts/art/fandoms match and reblog from them. You'll have a daily dose of nice stuff on a silver platter and no one will really mind.
time doesn't exist on Tumblr. Unearth and reblog that fossiled post if you like it! Others might appreciate your archeological discovery.
you'll generally see plenty of old posts/reblog convos making rounds - heritage posts are a thing! (ex. high geologist thread) They're old, have a load of notes and get back on your dash periodically.
spam liking/reblogging is not a thing. Spam people with appreciation if you binge the blog! Waking up to 99+ notifs because someone loved every single post I made in last 3 years is awesome. If someone doesn't like it, they just state it in their bio or something but I suspect those are migrants from other platforms.
if you're still worried, there's a thing called queue. You can set your posts/reblogs to get auto posted at an interval when you add them to queue in the reblog screen. The interval is yours to decide.
you might see a destiel meme with "I love you" and a reply that summarises some recent real world news. That's how we pass important information around.
if you see a shortened post "Do you like the color of the sky", don't extend it. If it's the original post, it's long. To the point you'll keep scrolling for 84 years and we're traumatised already. And if it's not, it's a meme that references our collective trauma so not aimed at you anyway.
Tumblr is the source of the fandom of Goncharov, the greatest mafia movie ever made. Shenanigans and running jokes like that might happen, if they annoy you, block the tags/words! If you find them delightful, jump into it!
if you post a thing that's not SFW, use community labels. In case of fics, people use Read More option too and often tag it as smut. This tradition is truly worth continuing.
if you're wondering if you can post stuff that isn't very SFW is allowed on Tumblr, text posts are usually fine. Images, despite the rules having gotten a bit less strict, might be flagged more or less randomly and it takes ages to appeal it and no one really knows the rules, probably not even Tumblr staff because all the information is... vague. But appeal it. Who knows.
about Read More option - aside from covering smut, it's often used as means to hide a part of the post that might be upsetting or triggering. It's good manners to make sure that the reader is informed what they're about to encounter and put that Read More in the post.
report spam tagging. It's in your interest not to have your tag feed littered with spam. Tumblr culture is being very passionate about tags remaining relevant.
report and block sexygirlbots. Letting them follow you or spam tags will only result in a bot siege and nothing else since we don't have public stats here.
also XKit (currently XKit Rewritten) is a very popular browser plug-in that adds even more useful features like shuffling your queue or customised timestamps. Scripts that alter the layout are also popular since Tumblr is generally a mess, we just learnt to reshape the interface.
Tumblr is still relatively anonymous. People don't put their selfie, location and name in their profile... bots on the other hand do. And we block bots on sight.
speaking of anonymity, the checkmarks you see sometimes mean nothing. They're a meme. There are no "verified" Tumblrs but you might actually see Neil Gaiman here.
last but not least, if you're confused about reblogging vs reposting, reposting is a no-no. Do not download someone's work to post it as an original post. Reblogging is one of the basic Tumblr feature and is good. It doesn't take anything from the OP, the reblog links to their blog and the OP gets all the notes on the post and its reblogs. The reblogger gets those notes too, but only for their own reblog. So basically, two people get notes for the reblog. That's very nice.

🧸🪐❄️ 🥐 💖💖❕❕
babes I forgot that 50cal was a sideblog and went "omg another cherished mutual named rags!!" 💀
🧸 ⇢ what's the fastest way to become your mutual?
oooooh. Honestly, just engage with me a lot. Kind of a no-brainer, but if you show up in my notifications a lot I recognize you and go :] cherished mutual. Never worry about spamming me!! Also helps if you reblog content from fandoms I'm interested in or general tumblr humor posts. Like if you put "by allah you people are dogs. I will reblog as usual" type posts on my dash I swear fealty to you
🪐 ⇢ name three good things going on in your life right now
I kid you not, engaging with and making content for the COD fandom is really helping me a lot, so that's one. (I love this cozy little corner of the fandom.) Another is that I'm kind of in a more chill period of my life. I've been a student for like. 16 years straight, so it's nice to be taking a breather. And third, I don't think my social life has ever been better. It really helps to get out of the house and spend time with people I care about a lot <3
🥐 ⇢ name one internet reference that will always make you laugh
Oh, there's too many to count. But off the top of my head right now, it's a tie between no little german boy don't go to the weed cave and inshallah they find him. also, I don't count this one as it's not really a reference so much as one video that has become an inextricable part of my personality, but this specific video is the reason why I say "scheiße" instead of "shit" when something startles me, like losing my balance or dropping something etc. I can't explain why it cracks me up so hard, but it makes me laugh every time.
❄️ ⇢ what's your dream theme/plot for a fic, and who would write it best?
Look. We all have that one, super-indulgent daydreaming scenario that we're more embarrassed to admit we have than most kinks. Mine is a kind-of harem fic with literally as many COD characters as I can cram into it (we're talking 141, vaqueros, warzone operators, ghosts) where MC kind of serves as a Penelope Garcia (from Criminal Minds) figure? In my mind MC only ever talks to them over their comms, and they're fun to talk to, easy to get along with, and very flirty. But none of them have ever actually met MC in person: they don't know what they look like or anything, they've only ever heard MC's voice. Shenanigans ensue. In terms of who I'd trust most to write this, I'd trust any of the authors I follow to write this, but if I must pick, it would be @danibee33. I love you girl <3
Honorable mentions go to: pop star x König au written by @cookiepie111, hostage is "rescued" by König only for him to just. take you home and keep you by @gremlingottoosilly, König taming a barracks bunny by @kneelingshadowsalome, and "you cannot stand König because he's a weird little guy who gives off freak vibes but the two of you are stuck alone together on a lengthy mission in an isolated location and hmm. well maybe you can fuck him just once, what could go wrong? oh no, he's a freak (affectionate) and you might like him, actually" by @50cal-fullauto (lol)
(sorry for the all the tags. but I love you all so much. also, please don't feel any pressure: I don't expect you guys to write anything for these ideas, I just think that you guys would totally nail these concepts)

but when I put my work out there no one gives a shit. even the AI gets more of a reaction out of others, even if its purely negative. admit it, people only started to pretend to care about smaller artists and writers to stick it to the AI techbros
You're experiencing something that every creative on the planet has been struggling with since forever: the crushing disappointment of "I worked really hard on this but nobody even seems to notice it."
We've all been there. It sucks. We tend to feel a need for recognition and validation when we do or make something. Just about every artist or writer on here has experienced that disappointment, and wondered in despair if it's even worth continuing to make and post the things they make. After all, why put in all that effort to make something and share it, when nobody seems to care? Why keep investing so much into something you love, only to share it and find that no one else appreciates it like you do?
Well, if you've been in creative circles for a while, you've actually probably seen some answers to this question. See, we HAVE cared about our fellow small creators since long before """AI""" was really a concern. For years we've been making and sharing posts to help and uplift each other. We've told each other, don't create with the hope of getting fame and adulation, or you'll almost certainly be disappointed. We've told each other, create for your friends, for the 3 people who are as deeply invested in your rarepair or niche fandom as you are, create for yourself, create for the joy of creation. We've spread posts reminding people that a like is nice, but if you really enjoy someone's art, it helps the creator much more to reblog it, because it increases the work's visibility and reach. We have encouraged people to commission artists- and we have actually done so! See my little icon in the corner there? I commissioned that from a friend, who is a small artist themself. (@oriathura here and on the website formerly known as Twitter, in case anyone would like to commission them!)
The creative community has been supporting each other for a long time, whether you were aware of it or not. I've been on Tumblr since 2017, and have been following artists and writers that whole time, and began posting my own art and writing soon after joining. I have seen thousands of posts of the sort I described, trying to help motivate, reassure and uplift other creators. I have seen friends and mutuals get discouraged by the lack of response to their art, and wonder if they should give up. I have seen them carry on anyway, and I have seen them grow and develop as artists. I have posted my own work and gotten silence in response, and I have persisted anyway and continued to improve my craft and make work that I am proud of, regardless of how many people saw it or validated me through praise.
Because I wanted something to exist, and I made it exist, and I deserve to be proud of that. No matter how many people saw it or liked it.
You didn't ask for advice, but I'm going to offer some, and you and any other creatives reading this can take it or leave it, as you like:
*Find community. Follow some creative people, maybe acquire some creative mutuals. Join a Discord server for artists and/or writers. Get involved with a small group of fellow creators and hype each other up!
*Learn how to tag your posts. Don't spam a bunch of unrelated tags, of course, but learn how to add plenty of relevant ones. Lots of people follow tags for characters, fandoms, and even the "my writing" and "fiction" tags- I know I do. That will put your post on the dash of some people who are following those tags. The more people who see it, the more likely it is to reach the people who will enjoy it- because no matter the subject or even quality of the work, there IS an audience for it. Following and posting in these tags may even help you find community!
*Make something with no intention of ever sharing it. If you love to create but find yourself discouraged and frustrated by a lack of positive response when you share your work, make something just for yourself and keep it to yourself. Learn to appreciate creation for creation's sake, for the joy you can bring yourself. If you're feeling really bold, make something and then destroy it. Rip it up, burn it, hit delete. Art is valuable even when it is fleeting.
*Create for an event. One of the best things that ever happened to my writing was participating in TAZ Pride Week 2018. I wrote a new fic every day for 8 days, pushing the limits of my creativity and writing skill. I tagged each work with the event tag, allowing others to find it and the organizer to reblog it to the event blog, which lots of people were following. Many people saw and enjoyed my work as a result. I saw the work of numerous others and was inspired. I even gained my first artsy mutual (aside from my irl friends) because of this event, so this can also help you with building community! People organize art and writing events all the time, especially for fandoms. Seek these out and see how you can get involved!
Sometimes, creating can feel like thankless work. But that doesn't mean it has no value. If it meant something to you, it was important. And it may become important to someone else one day. Some of my works that flopped hardest on publication are the ones that still get the occasional note or AO3 comment here and there months and years later, because they appealed to very few people, but those few people are very excited on the rare occasion they find something that scratches the particular itch they have!
When I was in 7th grade, we read Summer of My German Soldier. I don't know that I'd recommend the book to anyone else; in truth I don't remember much from it, aside from the main character getting a bad perm. But one quote from that book has stuck with me my whole life. It led to me the understanding of creation as a powerful, almost sacred act, regardless of how many people view it. For "there is more nobility in building a chicken coop than in destroying a cathedral."

Hello and welcome to the 1989 Taylor's Version thoughts post. I'm putting all of this here because I know not all of my mutuals are swifties so this way I won't be spamming everyone's dash with my thoughts lol. I am writing all of this as I listen to it. It will be long. It is probably nonsense, you have been warned. Thoughts are under the cut.
Welcome To New York - The harmonies??? Hello?? Damn. The vocals feel a lot more raw. I loved this song to begin with. I love this one. DAMN THOSE VOCALS. 10/10 great start.
Blank Space - Gonna be honest, I didn't really like this song when it came out. Now, it's okay. Again, the vocals are way more raw. The old one was super synth-y and autotune? This one not so much. Not my favorite, but it good.
Style - This was my favorite song for sooo long. I have high expectations. The vocals again- damn. She doesn't emphasize the high notes like she did before. I am noticing a theme where the old tracks had a LOT of synth and these are kind of laying back on it.
Out Of The Woods - The backing vocals are way more clear?? Damn okay. She sounds so emotional what. HARMONIES OH WOW. The high harmonies in the chorus oh my god. Oh the bridge. Oh wow. Yep okay I love this. It hit hard.
All You Had To Do Was Stay - Okay okay it's getting redundant but god these vocals. They're so good what.
Shake It Off - I had to do dance routines to this song two separate times and I didn't want to do it either time. I don't like it now lmao. It's okay though. Again, I point out the lack of autotune.
I Wish You Would - I'm grooving so hard right now oml. It's so emotional but it's also incredibly groovy I love it. "It's all good" um girly are you sure?
Bad Blood - This was sooo overplayed when it came out. Vocals are super raw again. It's good though I don't hate it.
Wildest Dreams - I want to rap myself up in this song like a blanket and stay there for hours oh my god. I'm in love. There's nothing else to say.
How You Get The Girl - Ooh guitar. This is the first song I've heard distinctive guitar in. Honestly- not my favorite. It wasn't my favorite then and it isn't now. It's not bad, I'm just not a fan.
This Love - Ooh more guitar. This song is the kind that randomly gets stuck in my head and I don't really know that to do with it.
I Know Places - Oh god I love this song. Who knew running from the paparazzi could be such a fun song. OH WOW THAT SCREAM OKAY. THE HARMONIES. THE VOCALS. I'm grooving again I love this so much.
Clean - This is such an emotional song. I love it so much. It hits really hard for me. The raw vocals make it hit so much harder. I love this song. <3
Wonderland - Oh I'm grooving now. Ohhhh I love this. I don't usually like songs with Alice in Wonderland references because it's so special to me, but this one is okay I think. GODDAMN THEM VOCALS OKAY. Ohhhh vocalsssss. Okay I love this.
You Are In Love - This song makes me feel like I'm back floating in a quiet pond surrounded by little water flowers and little fish and frogs and a small waterfall. It's so nice <3
New Romantics - I love this song so much this better be good. She's really sticking with that theme of clearer vocals. Nothing sounds messed with at all. The chorus is... loud. I like it. It's pretty good.
VAULT TRACKS BABYYYY
"Slut!" - I was NOT expecting this to be so soft okay. Oh. Okay. Wow. I want to cry. "It might be worth it for once" Oh wow. That hit so hard.
Say Don't Go - Okay this is kind of what I expected. It's pretty good honestly. I can't tell if I should be crying or dancing. Oooh this is emotional. I like it. Vocalllls. It's good.
Now That We Don't Talk - This is more fast paced than I thought it would be. Lower register yessss I love it when she does this. OH WOW the lyrics are- oh wow. THIS BRIDGE OH WOW. Usually her songs fade out but this one just stopped so abruptly. I like it. I like it a lot.
Suburban Legends - Oooh I like this vibe. "You kiss me in a way that's gonna screw me up forever" OH GOD. Oh wow these lyrics. This hits so hard oh my god. "I broke me own heart cause you were too polite to do it" WHAT. Oh my god. I love this.
Is It Over Now? - I am preparing to cry. Oooh that intro that's interesting. This sound sounds very Out Of The Woods esq. OH WOW LYRICS OKAY. OKAY THAT'S AN OUT OF THE WOODS REFERENCE. WHAT WHAT THESE LYRICS WHAT HOLD ON. I need to process this oh my god. That's- that's a lot. This song is so good but oh my god that's a lot to unpack.
OVERALL
I love this album. It's absolutely amazing. The common theme that I found was all of the vocals were wayy more raw than the original. They also really laid back on the synth, which makes it feel way more like a pop album than an indie album which is the vibe I got from the original. All in all, 10/10 I will be listening to this for the nex few months.

Of All the People - ch. 3
Chapter 3!!! Still written by @attackradish and @ectolemonades and myself! I don't want to spam our artist @/toastyghosti by continuing to tag them, but check out chapter 1 to see their art, and please check out their own page!
Posting 3 chapters in a row since they were originally one big chapter before posting <3
whole fic summary: After a stupid dare puts Dash Baxter in the lab at Fentonworks during the middle of a ghost fight, he finds himself a little more spectral than usual. Apparently Danny Fenton’s gone through the same thing (someone has got to call OSHA on these guys eventually), and who could better help Dash than his hero? His lame, stubborn hero?
warnings: existential crises. In later chapters, Spectra.

===
After Dash passed out again (in his defense, he was having a very rough night), Danny decided he needed to go home. He shook him awake and asked whether he was good to walk. Apparently Dash, still a tad out of it from the night's revelations, wasn't very convincing when he said yes.
He ended up being flown home and, God, the thoughts that fought in his head — the dream-come-true of being whisked through the air in the unwavering grip of Danny Phantom, the settling knowledge that Phantom was the same unassuming teenager he had been picking on for years, some dawning realization that his vague not-crush on Phantom may have also extended to Fenton the entire time, and on top of it all the thought that maybe Dash could fly under the same power… Neither of them said a word to the other for the whole flight.
Dash didn't want to linger on the fact that Danny didn't need to ask where his house was. He was dropped off with a quick reminder to meet behind the band room 30 minutes before school, and Danny vanished without looking Dash in the eye.
Dash never slept that night. Sunlight was streaming through the blinds before he could get over the feeling of being abandoned. He didn't even realize he was grieving for himself until he saw that he was crying again. Even while he got dressed to face the world at school, he couldn't take a full breath without shaking. The still-present ache in his chest and leg were forgettable, it was the way his brain felt like it was fraying at the edges that made Dash decide that dying sucked.
The next day, Danny was in the promised spot. And so were his two friends. Dash patted down his rumpled clothes one last time before approaching.
"Hey, Fenton. Didn't you say you wanted to talk? Alone?"
"It's cool, Dash, I already told them what happened."
He said it like it meant nothing. Like it didn't even cross his mind not to. Dash boiled over with rage before he could think about why. Danny had been keeping his own secret for years, and the second the same thing happens to Dash, he goes and tells every loser who hangs out with him without even asking first? Dash was the one who had bones broken last night! He was the one who passed out twice in the house of Casper High's biggest embarrassment! He was the one who had to find out that the guy who he’d buried his feelings for under knuckle sandwiches was the same guy he’d practically worshipped for years, and then not even talk about it! He was the one who died last night, and Fenton got to tell his loser friends everything before Dash himself was even sure what happened? How dare he.
Danny cringed before Dash could yell at him. His hands shot up in a defensive position as he rushed to explain.
"They've known everything about me from the start. I wasn't sure I could help you without their help too. I promise you, I trust them with my life."
"Dash," Manson chimed in, "we're going to help keep you from fucking up, okay?"
"You've got questions, and we've got answers," said Foley.
Dash was still fuming, but he never got a chance to argue.
He ended up getting what was basically a lecture on "liminal ghosts" ("...other ghosts will probably call you a 'halfa', but for the record, it's much more likely you're slightly more human than ghost.") and the ways he could take care of his adjusting body and mind. He wasn't thrilled to recognize some of the emotional shifts he'd had since the night before in the "ghostly patterns" they were describing. He didn't like feeling like a different person, like the old Dash had died. He couldn't just let go of who he was.
He was put into a group text, protests ignored, and told to report to them about any unexpected sensations or medical patterns, and then Manson and Foley set off.
Dash was about to get going himself, ready to forget this whole ordeal by telling his friends he'd completed the dare (if they wanted something to show for it, they could fuck right off) when Danny grabbed his arm to hold him back.
Dash couldn't help staring at his lazy slouch, drawn in on himself like he was trying to appear as small as possible. It didn't look unfamiliar, Danny wore the posture like a skin, but Dash just couldn't keep his mind off it. How it made him look like an entirely different person compared to the easy grace he had the night before. It was entirely alien to the full-bodied confidence of Phantom. Obviously it was some sort of mask, and now that he knew it was there, it was incredibly off-putting.
"Look, Dash. I get that you probably don't want to have to start associating with me just because of what happened to you. Trust me, the feeling is mutual."
Okay, ouch.
"But it'll make things a hell of a lot easier for both of us if I make sure you're equipped to understand yourself. So I need you to tell me every time you start developing a new power so I can help you with it. We're gonna have to meet soon, to make sure you don't slip up on those ectoblasts or the other basics. You good for after school at my place?"
Dash blinked. "Uh, sure, I guess. Can my friends come with?"
Danny looked at him like he’d asked to bring a GIW rep. "Dude, what are you talking about? You can't just be putting us out there like that. You can't tell your friends."
"The fuck do you mean I can't tell my friends? Am I just supposed to keep it to myself that I straight-up died?"
Danny shushed him like he hadn't been saying equally incriminating shit just as loud two minutes ago. "Do you really think the rest of the A-listers are just gonna keep quiet about the weirdest thing to happen at this school all year? If people find out about you, they're gonna find out about me, and then both of our asses get handed over to the first mad scientist to call dibs. We're both in th—"
"You don't know them! You think I'd be stupid enough to let people figure you out? My friends are just as trustworthy as yours!" God knows they'd been keeping secrets for Dash well enough already. "Just because they're not fucking outcasts doesn't change that! I'm not losing my friends because you think I'm too dumb to stay safe!"
Danny's eyes were narrowed, but he took a breath anyway. "Sorry. I guess you're right. You can tell a few people about yourself— not about me— if you promise me that you trust them not to blab."
"Fine." Dash rolled his eyes. "I promise I'll only tell people I trust."
"And they can't come to training, because I'm gonna have to reveal myself if they do."
"Whatever." Dash was itching to walk away and forget all this.
"And one more thing." Danny's eyes were intense, the way they looked into Dash's. They didn't reflect light in the morning sun. Was that a ghost thing? "I need you to keep out of trouble." His body was drawn up into that composed posture from before. This wasn't a request. Was he always this tall? "Don't try to fight any ghosts. I don't need you getting hurt right now."
Danny walked off just as the warning bell rang.
===
Dash's friends were insufferable, trying to get him to tell them how the dare went and why they hadn't seen him before school. He refused to say a thing before lunch. The moment fourth period ended, Dash skipped the lunch line and made a beeline for the A-listers' usual table, and waited for his friends to show up.
“Hey Dash, where’s your food? Fenton didn’t bring lunch money today?” asked Kwan, taking the seat across from him.
Dash glanced around the room for eavesdroppers. ”I needed to talk to you guys ASAP. Didn’t want to get stuck in the lunch line.”
“Right! You’re finally going to spill the beans about the dare. I’m not sure what you mean by ASAP, though. You've been avoiding it all day.”
“Alone. I want to leave before this place gets too crowded.”
“Ooh, it was that bad?” Paulina appeared in front of the lunch line, Star trailing behind her.
“If you draw attention to us, then we’ll have an audience. And then I won’t be able to tell you until after school.” Dash pushed out through gritted teeth.
Star flipped her hair. “Well let’s get going, then, before that audience shows up. Any secluded places in mind?"
“The boy’s locker room should be empty by now,” suggested Kwan.
“Sure. Sounds great. Let’s go.” Dash felt like there were ants in his veins. Every person here was a potential ear against the door. He should’ve waited 'til after school.
“And Dash? Loosen up a little.”
“Hm?”
“Nothing’s going to draw more attention than you looking nervous. It’s out of character.”
“Right.” He straightened his shoulders, and strode to the gym with as much casual confidence as he could muster. Just a normal day for Dash Baxter.
There were still a couple stragglers in the locker room, but he knew how to take care of that. He slammed his fist against a locker and glared at anybody who looked. They were smart enough to take the hint and leave.
Star piped up the moment the door shut. “I’m dying to know what all the secrecy is for. It’s gotta be something big, you haven’t acted like this since…”
“Since that. And that’s why I’m trusting you with all this. Nobody can know, ok?”
“Our lips are sealed.”
“Ok.” Dash took a deep breath that stung just behind his sternum. “I’m part ghost now. There w—” he was interrupted by the roar of laughter. Kwan was doubled over, slapping his knee. Paulina was tearing up. The sound was overwhelming, and he swore that he could taste bewilderment choking the air.
“Guys, stop laughing! I’m serious!” His friends looked at him with skepticism written all over their faces, but the laughter died down.
“I went down into the Fentons' stupid lab and they left this giant portal open and a freaking ghost showed up!”
“Did it bite you?” Star teased.
“No! Would you let me finish? I grabbed this bazooka thing off a table and tried to shoot it but it jammed and exploded against my chest. Then something happened to my leg and I blacked out. When I woke up I was so mad I fired off an ectoblast, and that's when it sank in.”
“Listen, dude, if you’re this worked up about the dare we can figure something out. This is just kind of sad.”
“I’m not making this up! You know what it’s fuckin' like to know you died? That you’re not really human anymore? You think I’m acting?!”
Paulina put her hands out in a soothing motion. “Alright. If this is real, those injuries might be serious. I’m going to take a look. Show me which leg it was.” Dash huffed and struggled out of the left leg of his jeans. Stupid skinny jeans, couldn't roll them up. At least his friends had all seen him with his pants off before.
His leg looked fine from the outside, despite the persisting ache. He wished there was at least a bruise or something to show he wasn’t lying.
When he took off his shirt she paused, and whatever his friends saw made them go quiet. When Dash looked in the mirror, he saw a massive dark spot in the center of his chest. A circle haloed in curling rays, like an old drawing of the sun. Looking at it— having other people look at it— made Dash want to crawl out of his skin. He tugged his shirt back on.
“I’m sorry for not believing you. Nobody should have to go through that.”
“What can we do to help?”
Dash looked down and pulled his pant leg back on. “Nothing at the moment, I guess. I just really needed to tell you guys. I managed to get in contact with Phantom. He’s worked with limin… half-ghosts before, And he’s going to teach me all the ghost stuff I need to know, and help me control my powers and all that. But I’ll let you know if there’s anything."
"You got to talk to Phantom? What was he like?”
"Lucky!"
“Can I meet him? You’ve got to introduce us!”
The switch to familiar jeering was fast. Dash knew they were doing it to cheer him up.
It was nice. He smiled.

Persona 1 and 2 Remakes Part 3
When it comes to Persona 2 gameplay, I see many describe it as a "auto-battle" simulator. I mainly put the blame on Persona 2: Innocent Sin's remaster. As I said before, it reduced the difficulty and made battling a cakewalk. The sluggish menus are also a issue. I go more in-depth on the issues in a previous post but the main thing is that they need to fix this. For fusion spells, add more physical-based fusion spells so magic isn't the objectively better choice. Let enemies actually use fusion spells. Combos from Digital Devil Saga could be considered an evolution of this so it's very possible. Nerf buffs since they're pretty overpowered and add debuffs. I feel like P2 should be more punishing on the player for defense spamming. Pretty much every boss should have Guard Punish and would encourage the use of buffs. Add Force and Gravity back to P2. Zan and Gry just being Almighty is a little weird imo. Just like I said for P1, make items like Beads and SP restoring items harder to get and make better builds for personas. The only things I'd say P1/2 should take from the newer games is fusion. Just make the fusion rules from P1/2 the same as the modern trilogy. You can only fuse personas the same level as you. Add a compendium. Allow different types of fusion like Triple Fusion. This doesn't mean I want everything related to fusion from the older games to go away. Keep returning personas. Keep arcanas as well. For negotiation, I know there's some who don't like the older style of negotiating so I'm going to say this. Just combine it with mainline SMT. There are no group contacts anymore but everyone still has a conversation option. The initial interaction will determine your odds of getting a specific emotion with each question answered, and the rest would just play out like regular SMT negotiation. This leaves Persona 2's card system out. I know some don't like the tedium of card grinding so I'll say this: Don't get rid of it. Just repurpose it. If you want to get a rare item or super powerful weapon, cards can be your currency for that. Communing with demons wouldn't be the only way of obtaining cards. You could earn some from completing rumor sidequests. If they ever decide to add superbosses to Persona 2, they can be locked behind doors scattered throughout Sumaru City and the only way to go through them is to earn a certain number of cards. The possibilities are endless. Also make battles faster for both of them. If they decide to keep the first person perspective for the first game, give it Strange Journey movement speed with the ability to dash during dungeon crawling. All of what I've said throughout these parts helps to ensure a properly balanced system that requires strategy. This also avoids controversy with old fans and makes P1/2 stand out from the crowd. On a funny side note, add the option to switch between the Revelations portraits and the normal ones for Persona 1. It'd be a nice nod to Revelations: Persona. For Persona 2: Eternal Punishment, let players experience the interesting english dub lol. I've rambled on about what I'd like to see in remakes of the older trilogy. Thank you for reading my extensive thoughts. Have a good rest of your day and stay true to yourself!

How do I get people to send in memes? I’m always reblogging but I never seem to get any sent in 😞
Okay lovely there's a lot of things that go into this, and I cannot guarantee any of this will help. I've been around Tumblr rp a long time and it really is not as ready to engage with people the way it used to be. Remember that people sending in memes doesn't measure the quality of your writing, just the willingness to collaborate on someone else's part. And some people just prefer to plot, and not rely on memes- that is fine too!
1) Know your mutuals. I highly recommend reading their rules again, on top of offering an interest tracker, something that let's you know what you're working with. Know how many of your mutuals actually prefer memes to plotting only. If you have mostly plotting only mutuals, you will automatically not receive many memes. Likewise if you have a very small follower account, you may need to expand your horizons some. Crossovers are so much fun. Do not be afraid to follow people who aren't in your direct fandom!
2.) Do not make it an obligation. Don't pair your memes with posts like "bored, send memes", "really shitty day I need you to send memes", or "my inbox is empty so I guess no one likes me". Making demands and guilt trip posts are often going to have people resist because now they are being expected to, not leaving it as an optional fun thing to do. Be inviting and it's much easier to get some results 💜
3.) Reblog a variety of memes. I know there are sometimes memes we really, really like because they touch on a certain topic you want to write. However, if that's the only meme your mutuals ever see, they might start to get annoyed or feel boxed in. I would suggest if there is a topic you REALLY want to write, message a close mutual up to plot it out. When you offer variety of memes you like, you offer more opportunities for someone to find something that catches THEIR eye. Remember it's a two person situation, and they have to want to write it too, lovely.
4.) Don't overly spam the memes. I know it sounds a bit counter logic, but if you're trying to get more people to write with you, you can put people off by having more memes on your blog than threads. Some people aren't bothered by that. Others, like myself, can take it as a sign that there is always a clamor for memes, but rarely are they answered, and rarely are they turned into threads. This might not be the case, but the impression is all that's needed to negatively impact someone reaching out to get something started. Maybe try doing a draft or two and your reward is you get to reblog a meme, balancing your mutuals' dash out.
5.) Don't be the person always asking for memes and never sending any. If you're never sending your mutuals memes, it's pretty distancing. I know making the first move with people can be nerve-wracking but I promise if you two already follow each other, the other person at least likes your writing! Send that meme and get to know each other! I would say 80% of my closest partners and ooc friends resulted from me finally getting up the nerve to send that first meme. And them not answering it is not always a negative. Sometimes they were just busy, or it didn't gel with their muse. Don't be afraid to ask. If you consistently send memes, and don't get a response, do not be afraid to move on. At that point, it's not on you. (Keep in mind that if you do something like ignore meme boundaries, then no, they might not take kindly to it and ignore it)
6.) Try doing some character development. Reblog some headcanon memes, or just write some up. This can create some curiosity and generate questions in your inbox, as well as invite the people that like to see muses fleshed out.
I know it can be very disappointing seeing people flooded with memes and you get nothing, but again, it doesn't measure your worth. Are you happy with your muse? Do you like writing? Great! You're doing it right.
If you need further clarification, or help on a different topic, just message. Have a wonderful day/night!

Hi Grey.
If you ever have the time I would really like ti hear more about your writingprogress.
Like. How do you come up with your ideas? Do you do a outline? Where and when do you write? Are you finishing all your stories before posting them? Do you fact check things? How long time does it normally take for you to finish a story? Have you ever regretting posting a story? Why do you write? Do you have a beta?
Youre one of my favorite authors here and I’m really just curious of the mind and work behind the story’s that I’ve spent so much time with.
weeping. I'm one of your favorites???? what the hell??? thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you for being so nice. that just made my day.
i am going to put the answers to all those things below a cut to not spam my dash with a long post. but also, i shouldn't give writing advice ever and while i appreciate you asking your questions, everything with a grain of salt. because...i know absolutely nothing and this is just what I do. (and also, im an affectionate idiot so <3)
How do you come up with your ideas?
often my ideas start with a very very specific image in my mind, and then i go from there. sometimes they happen while im listening to a song (for example, FFTF happened because I was listening to Since We're Alone by Niall Horan and there's a line in there that says Why would you want to be someone else? I love you best when you're just yourself and an entire wolfstar narrative exploded, but i had to figure out how Sirius would be guarded in this particular way and....here we are) or sometimes when im on a walk or driving. also, as a total cop out, i write romance-- i get ideas from making foolish scenarios in my mind where people should fall in love and I'll never have a shortage of those.
Do you do an outline?
No! I don't. Once I have the idea, i usually start by writing the specific scene that came to me first (so for ten reasons, i wrote the voicemail scene first. i heard remus's voicemail in my mind so loud and clear and wrote it out) and i go from there. this is for my own unpacking but i almost always can see how things end in my mind before they begin (lol, isn't that a fucking metaphor; for a fun personal fact, I've always said since i was like...very little that i wasn't planning on living past 33, which is horrifying to hear out of a ten year olds mouth, but like...i still think its true). for almost all my fics, i wrote the ending first and then wrote around it. never chronologically. just everything that i want to happen and then i put it in some sort of order (i wish i could show you my doc for tight ends right now). and then i make them lead into one another.
I DO. however, do an obligatory chapter count. and i mean, so arbitrary, with no thoughts applied to it. NMTW i literally said 14 chapters, and stuck to it. this is the only structure i give myself when i write. and its my job as a writer to make sure i fit in there.
i do the same when im writing tumblr series. so like fault lines got SIX, chosen at random, and six it was. it was my job to tell that story in six parts. no more no less. (this is admittedly weird, i understand most writers dont work this way, but this actually helps me immensely. the only time i deviated was with FFTF when i added more chapters because the chapters i did have ended up being like TOO LONG in my eyes for a chapter, so i broke them up).
but also--i know other authors who DO outline and its helpful for them!! Find what works for you!!! I tried to outline once and the fic never left my drafts.
Where and when do you write?
To quote Shakira, "Whenever, Wherever"
I write a lot in parking lots on my phone. a lot of my tumblr drabbles are written on my phone and in a parking lot, ten reasons and tight ends were both started in parking lots.
otherwise on my desktop! in google docs! or if its smut, in a word doc! i write the best early in the morning or super late at night when i should be sleeping. I write when i can! Usually at my desk, or i'lll bring my laptop over and write while my kid is playing video games or we're watching something on tv. sometimes i write in the middle of my work day when i have a second in my office (this is also very quick and very on my phone). i just wrote smut at a nail salon. whenever, wherever.
Are you finishing all your stories before posting them?
yes. head to toe, top to bottom, signed sealed delivered. the stories are written before i post. this works better for me! i need to see the whole thing finished!! it also makes it very fun for me when readers are commenting and are like...in anguish, and im there like "tee hee, i know what happens next".
tumblr drabbles no. i pants those. fault lines, mercy, the pact (is part four written? nah but its started and i have no idea where its going to go!!!), the best worst thing to have ever happened-- PANTSTED. sat and written flat into the tumblr post machine. no outline, no plan, just feelings and vibes. (and yes this means that the end of fault lines was a pants decision and im very sorry it ruined everyone, whoops).
this again varies from author to author! most of my writer friends write as they go because they like to be align with the readers! or they work better chronologically and will just write and post and write and post, but again, this is something personal! do what works best for you!
Do you fact check things?
Lol sometimes? I probably should more often, tbh. I do a lot of geography fact checking because i couldn't map my way out of a paper bag, but otherwise, not...really. But also, my fics dont tend to have a lot of....information in them that needs a fact check. People are just falling in love. also, not to flex, but i have a big brain that stores a bunch of useless information and remembers a lot of things, so if i write something i usually believe myself (writing tight ends right now and putting my football knowledge to good use and there's been a few times I've been like "...hmmm" and referenced google and WE WERE RIGHT! so i mostly just trust my brain.)
Writing NMTW was also challenging because i had to reference SOURCE MATERIAL to see if there was a designated teacher for x subject, or when exactly school breaks were etc etc. but that said, i did not care about being accurate with full moons or course timestables or hogsmeade visits or anything like that. we...simply do not care. (this obviously does not apply to things that very much need fact checking such as if i were to write a medical procedure or something relating to disability or race/ethnicity/languages spoken; obviously do your homework for that.)
How long a time does it normally take you to finish a story?
Cop out-- it depends! Sometimes less than a week. (The pact is short, will be done by tomorrow most likely). I wrote ten reasons in four days. it took me 3 months to write an alleged wip though. it just....depends on my time and my schedule.
Have you ever regretted posting a story?
Sometimes! There was a moment when i was fresh on AO3 (pre-tumblr) where i got a few really nasty comments and it made me regret posting the story at all and made me regret joining AO3, and made me regret thinking my fics could be a thing or that my writing was worth sharing etc. I know I give FFTF a hard time because they're....out of pocket, but there are parts of that fic i really really like, and it seems to connect with a lot of people, so i can't have regrets about that.
i have deleted a few one shots off my AO3 though, because i decided they didn't need to be shared, but i wouldn't necessarily call that regret. just...re-evaluation.
Do you have a beta?
No. I do have one trusted person though who i send things to before i release them into the public, not as a beta but as.....a litmus test (to see how the fic reads but also for me and how i feel about sharing it in the first place; I've done it before with this person where they got something and then WEEKS later tumblr got it. Sometimes months.). I 10/10 recommend doing this. and i feel so so so so so so lucky that i found someone like that here and they tolerate my existence. but pre-tumblr, it was just me myself and i doing the thing. and also it took some time before i even trusted this person (did i mention im paranoid? and private?) to get my work because you can't take it back. and what if it didn't need to be shared? there are a few things this person has gotten that i havent and will never post. but like...im so fortunate to have that. you know?
I...am way too chaotic for a beta. and also have a very particular way i edit my stuff (because ND) and adding another person into the flow of that can get confusing. Too many cooks, you know?
Why do you write?
i saved this one for the end because my heart.
i think i've said before that like...a lot of my time as a child and a teenager and young adult in spaces was spent believing that i was a bad writer because neurodivergent and i don't understand mechanics of grammar or...words or...write in a way you're supposed to (outlines for example). and spent a lot of time giving my ideas to other people who i thought were GOOD writers.
but i...am a creative person. and sometime in 2019, i hit the biggest artist block of my life where i literally didn't draw or paint for a year. and picked up writing instead.
poetry, and then it evolved into romance, which i...turned into fic and here i am. and ultimately, i write because i like to. because its creative and it makes my brain happy when a sentence just hits, you know? because i believe in love and want to see more queer love stories and if i...can do the thing, i should, right?
i write because i...realized that i had stories in my head that needed places to go that i couldn't express visually through my artwork. also, ive mentioned it here before, that i am...young and have experienced an absurd amount of death and loss in my life (personally and professionally). and...well, i write a lot of fics about grief for that reason. i don't think i could ever run out of words for this (and have also published ACTUALLY on grief, both creatively and academically), and sometimes i write to like...sit with those feelings for a bit.
i...also think i write because i am a soft human in a very hard world in a hard career path who experiences things deeply and these things and observations need places to go. i cant carry them around all day, that's too heavy and my hands aren't big enough.
so i make art. and i dance. and i play music.
and i write.
i hope any of this is helpful. and if you get the courage to come off anon, i am more than happy to talk with you in DMS about processes or answer any more questions <3

I think that one of the reasons allistics say everybody is a little autistic is because of the words we use to describe our experiences.
When I tell people I don't like eye contact because it feels bad they dismiss it and still try to make eye contact with me. When I say that I don't understand social queues they interpret it as a little bit socially awkward and expect me to read between the lines. No matter how I describe how I feel it's always going to be interpreted as a little uncomfortable because they'll always assume I experience things the same way they do. Because I don't have the language to explain how much pain I'm in and how much discomfort things bring.
This is just my experience as one autistic so I am in no means speaking for all autistics when I say this

Easy tips for new tumblr users
Change your icon, banner and blog title (its really easy and other users won't think you're a bot and block you)
Customise your blog! Go to edit appearance and switch on custom theme. There are tonnes of pre-made themes that you can install as well as manner bloggers who make them. Just search html theme.
Switch off best things first (it's in settings( this will keep your dash in chronological order (which means you don't see the same stuff over and over)
Be as cringe as you want. Cover your entire dashboard with your favourite character is you want.
Spam liking and rebloging isn't really a thing. There are few users who do block if you reblog to many of their posts but honestly they're not really worth your time.
Turns off likes and following, it clears up your blog and no one really cares about these
REBLOG THINGS. If you a cool piece of art of a post that makes you chuckles click the little arrows and reblog it. If you have short something to say add it in the tags instead unless you want to tag another user or build upon their post.
Use the tags. Put comments and thoughts in them. Use them to organise your blog. They are really easy to use (plus there are fun in the tags games)
Sending anon hate is pointless. If you don't like the person just block them and move on.

Everything you write is gold. Gold in the form of words - you're just so incredible at everyone you put together. The passion you put in your characters and the way that you can just portray everything is incredible and I consider you an inspo. I'm so glad we write together cause i love you and i will pull biggs out of hiatus 484830r84 times if it means writing with you ❤️
I can’t believe you came into my house and incapacitated me with such niceness. Honestly, though Han, I’m so glad we write together, on Heidegger and Biggs - and idk much of anything about Dark Souls but I followed you on that blog anyway - and have just made it all work out so fun and interesting. I just think you’re so great to write with and talk to and be friends with, even if you curse the dash with just the most awful and hilarious sin. And yes, what you did is a sin, Han. (I love you for it, I laugh so hard with your Palmer bs, even if I feel like I have to bleach my eyes afterwards.) But for realsies, I adore the fuck outta you so much.

The muse I’ve interacted with the most on this blog is Princess Tamina, a lady who radiates elegance and strength, which is one of the many things that I loved about her character from the movie and also just happens to be illustrated beautifully in your writing for her. You put a lot of thought and love into each and every one of your muses!
And gosh, bless you for giving Tamina a chance to thrive in an otherwise dead fandom! I also almost wrote Garsiv, but lmao that would probably somehow get even less traction. But I love our thread together and the bits of plot we have figured out, and I’m so glad my Tamina is a good writing match for you and Zeke ;; You have such lovely writing and an incredible grasp on your muse, and I can’t wait to write more with you. You’re amazing, okay <3

You have to ask? Giiirl we've been RPing for /years/ and I've always adored your portrayals. From the AC fandom (lots of fond memories of Cal), to Remedy games (that Alice tho), to Final Fantasy (your Luna is still amazing) and all the many muses and fandoms you portray on your multimuse, I'm always impressed and thrilled to continue RPing with you. Not to mention your fab writing. <3
Can you even believe it’s been almost four years now? Little hiatuses in-between, but Cal and Alice and Luna - and now Jessie and Beth and Jack - are all able to get some really amazing play with help from you! I love Jez and Temperance, and I look forward to writing more with you. Maybe we can nudge Cal out of hibernation sometime, too <.< I miss writing that guy, he was really such an incredible muse, and so easy to bounce him off of you. You’re so amazing to write with and talk with and ily <3

thanks for tagging me @sunshineinbetween! :D
1. Why did you choose your url?
Mostly just wanted a change of pace from my old one! (Also my biological & abusive father was stalking my old url so.) But basically uhhhh i love wandering around in the middle of nowhere like a lost child and also corvids <3
2. Any side blogs?
Quite a bit actually! None of them are super active anymore because I stopped caring about social media. Only one that's still kinda used is @softsayings which is a joint blog between rickshaww and I.
3. How long have you been on tumblr?
...I wanna say 2017??? Is when I made my first account? I abandoned it after a couple of months and never picked it up again (it was a kin blog, surprising probably no one) and I made this one in,,, March 2018 according to the archive. So when I was about 16.
4. Do you have a queue tag?
I do not and the only thing I put in my queue is the anthropocene sea foam post whenever someone reminds me about it <3
5. Why did you start your blog in the first place?
This blog originally was a witchcraft blog. I. don't think that's the case anymore lmao.
6. Why did you choose your icon/pfp?
@rickshaww my beloved drew us for my birthday present and I wanted to show it off :3
7. Why did you choose your header?
Cool and sexy abandoned building we found during a roadtrip and one wall looked like album art!! (Also think it's especially cool how that building had the lyrics from the Garages' Deicide written on the wall and how I'd absolutely never even think about doing something like that.)
8. What’s your post with the most notes?
On this blog, it is, and I quote, "AAAAAAAA DISCIPLINE FUCKS HARDCORE" which 30 whole people seemed to like and I pray my blog never gets any bigger because if it gets like my old aesthetic blog I will just nuke this one and start over.
9. How many mutuals do you have?
No clue! I think I'm mutuals with most of the ppl I follow/that I regularly see on my dash though.
10. How many followers do you have?
109!! And I never want to get above 200.
11. How many people do you follow?
201! Also want to stay pretty low,,, too many and it gets overwhelming.
12. Have you ever made a shitpost?
uhhhhhh I cannot recall. Probably? Do the anthropocene spam posts count??
13. How often do you use tumblr each day?
Oof.
14. Did you have a fight/argument with another blog once?
Uhhhh,,,, no...??? I don't think so, at least not a real one.
15. How do you feel about “you need to reblog this” posts?
You put too many of those on my dashboard and it's an instant unfollow babey!! I do not wish to see it <3 if I think it's important and I have enough energy to care I would reblog it anyway, you guilt-tripping me automatically makes me stop listening <3
16. Do you like tag games?
I do!!! Would love to remember to do them😔. They make me feel like we are all sitting around a campfire asking each other weird questions.
17. Do you like ask games?
Sometimes!! I think it's funnier when I get just. random asks out of nowhere though. (my inbox is literally always open btw, go ahead and send me stupid shit if you're bored)
18. Which of your mutuals do you think is tumblr famous?
A really popular mystic messenger fan artist at the time. became mutuals with me and then immediately dipped for twitter?? Otherwise most of my mutuals r just chilling in our little corners. Doing our little gay activities.
19. Do you have a crush on a mutual?
Uh,,, I don't think so? 100% aro here, no crushes to be found. Y'all do make me really happy tho :3
Uhhhh no pressure tags; @rickshaww @heathenhouse @redminibike1
