Robertson could’ve been a good companion you guys are just gay:

Has no fear or sense of self preservation: the guy successfully negociated with multiple Daleks, and didn’t get killed! He knew what they were, and what they did, and yet, took the risk and proposed an alliance. He was even treated like an equal, none of the companions have done that before. That’s a raw talent there.

He can grow into something better: Ryan went from baby to man, Graham grew up closer to his grandson. Yaz turned gay (and do did half the fandom). Robertson can grow to be a more eco conscious business man, who cares about the people. Think of what he would’ve learned if he went to kerblam? To not employ ppl bcuz they fuck up your fully automated business? We all know the true message was to not use bubblewrap. Do you know how much money he could save if he switched to something else less plastic? TONS of money. The planet would personally thank him. And on Praxeus? Eco consciousness saves lives.

Solid Morale: gave a mercy shot to a spider. Thirteen would’ve let it asphyxiate to death (a very slow and painful death I might add), and let’s not talk about how she put all of the baby spiders in a room to starve to death too. Robertson knew better, he prevented the suffering. And don’t come to me with him letting Kevin die, STOP LYING YOU GUYS WOULDVE DONE THE SAME ITS A FUCKING 6ft TALL SPIDER.

Questions the Doctor: Robertson boi doesn’t do things just because the Doctor said he had to, he straight up does whatever he thinks is correct and he’s usually is right: killed the spider against the Doctor’s wishes? Yes, but it was dying anyway, he didn’t let it suffer. Tried to do business with the Daleks against the Doctor’s advice? Lemme tell you this: what was the Doctor gonna do about the thousands of errant daleks? Let em float around? Nah, Robertson gave her the chance to think of a better plan that worked even better than the last one. Kudos to him.

Proper awe at the TARDIS: are you even a companion if you don’t showcase in shakesperean fashion your amazement when stepping on the TARDIS for the first time? The fam was kind of flat, bigger on the inside, no big deal. Even Ryan seemed more impressed by the amount of buttons in the console than the engineering dimensions explanation. Robertson boi was full on confused, to the point it was comical. Perfect. I bet you he would’ve asked Bill-style questions if someone has explained to him what is a TARDIS

Has valid reasons to run away from his life: being a CEO of your own hotel chain, waste disposal company, security drones system company and being pseudo president on the side must be pretty draining. Yeah he might not know what’s going on in his multiple companies but to be fair you don’t really know what’s going on in your own piping until it gets clogged. Must be really hard on him tbh, and he does look a bit tense. He just needs a nice evening in a sunny planet and let go of the stress. And maybe build another hotel in space.

Has business smarts: this is pretty obvious, but think about it. Robbie boi knows how money works, and how it moves and influences. In theory, that’s a good quality. Money makes us not think straight, the guy knows that. Imagine the potential. He could’ve appealed to Edison’s nature in the Tesla episode, and cut it by at least 30 minutes. And the Orphan 55 episode? Well, he would’ve give some good advice to the resort owners and help them improve security, with Dalek drones maybe? Business guy to business guy. They would’ve been pals.

He’s a Rat but everybody thinks he’s hero: very Doctory if you ask me. Rainbow Brite has done some bad shit, killing an innocent TARDIS, for example, and is not afraid to let people die if it fits the cause. That’s pretty dark for someone who believes all life must be preserved, but she’s seen as a hero. And now to Robertson boi. He did rat out the Doc and her plan, but that ultimately ended up saving more lives than whatever the Doctor wanted to do first. And he was also a good distraction for them Daleks, too busy doing business with him to notice two humans an an immortal planting explosives everywhere. And he also helps the economy by buying companies and employing people. Yeah, he messed up quite a few times but so did the Doctor and no one talks about it.

u said i could jump in ur inbox with all my semi coherent thoughts so heres what i have at the moment bc my mind has literally been racing for the past.. idek anymore ive been just staring at the menu screen for a while and time feels fake

was Seven actually lying about what he saw way back when or is that no more than an implication,, bc him Not lying would make for an interesting explanation for June' random fevers and allow for one hell of a good angsty scene to be real, would explain why no one else contradicts him (Snake/Light doesnt say anything about Akane not actually dying when the story is told, Aoi says she died, Clover says a girl died, and i swear there was a seperate instance where they say only 8 kids are saved) plus Akane's body disappears somehow during the safe ending, which would make sense since in that end he wouldve failed to save her past self. but that in and of itself could just be another timeline hopping kinda thing

But. Seven and the others couldve just been lying to get Junpei to do what he did and end up saving her, if that makes sense, making sure the timeline Doesnt change (keeping Akane alive). but theyd all have to be in on it for that to work and i have no idea how likely that is - especially for Clover bc i cant see her lying abt that sort of thing so easily, given how Light purposefully kept info from her to keep her from spreading it. n that brings me to smth else,

Akane in the past could obviously transmit to Junpei in the future, which is trippy as hell but cool. and theres the implication that she could do it to Aoi in the future as well (plus he knew abt the whole thing anyway), so was she able to transmit to everyone else or just those two?? Aoi is her sibling and Junpei was close to her and gave her a literal voodoo doll, so those make sense, but idk abt the others. and like. what the hell was going on w future Akane during all this. she doesnt say anything nor react in an identifiable way when Aoi says she dead, or does Junpei just not notice?? or is that from past Akane's influence?? are the two sibs just really fucking good actors?? and how did Akane pull off most of the Zero stuff anyway when shes physically there already. was it a transmitting/possession kinda thing??

im gonna stop here before this gets way too long but i have So Many Questions (and also wish we could see the kurashiki sibs in the ending. why didnt they show them i miss them)

OK OK Okay, the thing with Seven is that it's left kind of ambiguous even when looking up stuff like the creator Q and A and shit. The dude kind of had it between him being in on it to an extent and Akane messing with which version of his memories he's got access to through the field because she's just built different and can do that apparently, either way I'm pretty sure the amnesia itself was totally real and the fevers definetly were as well. Tbh Seven is the character here they gave less thought to in general unfortunately? Years and years later and we never even got a name for the poor guy (Lotus's first name is Hazuki tho!) It is also implied that Light might have been a little in on it as well or that he at the very least recognized their voices from the get go, but again, ambiguous, open to interpretation, Clover was a hundred percent clueless though, thus her going apeshit that one time and the importance of getting Junpei the bookmark so he could win her trust.

Idk about there being implication that she could transmit to Aoi honestly? Like I always figured she just tells him everything the good old fashioned way after she's successfully rescued, but there's still memory of her dying there anyway because it's a paradox. Aj, dear friend, buddie, pal have you ever heard of Schrodinger's cat? Aksjs it's kind of what she has going on, the incinerator's the box and it can only be opened nine years from when she's first trapped in it, until then she's as much dead as she is alive. ALSO LIKE YES BTW THAT'S IT, THEY'RE REALLY FUCKING GOOD ACTORS WITH NINE YEARS OR SO FOR REHEARSALS BEFOREHAND I LOVE THAT MOTIF FOR THEM VERY MUCH Which part of the Zero stuff are we talking about here that she couldn't have pulled off if she's physically there? Like I know a lot of the stuff are implied to be recordings, I think the only exception would be the Safe ending bit which was Aoi behind the mic.

Oh I can imagine you still have a ton of questions lol omg this is so cool though it is quite the experience and Idk what your take away from it is gonna be but I'm glad it seems to be Something (yeah I get that miss them too :') I did find a post somewhere saying how important it is for the themes of the game though for June to just exit stage left and not re-enter tho, no goodbye or reunion because at that point is where Junpei realizes the little girl he knew wasn't going to be anywhere anymore but he still had to help her however he could)

Idk if you're all that interested in that side of Silm fandom, but I was thinking (...laughing, more like) about this again and had to say something to someone, and you happened to be the first Tolkien-fan whose blog crossed my dash, so you'll have to suffer now.

Anyway, one thing that I find equal amounts amusing and frustrating, is that because Words Mean Things In Languages, my own mental image of Sauron's "Annatar" form is... well, rather feminine (I know everyone draws him as thin and pretty anyway, but that's not what I mean by feminine, I mean like legitimately you'd assume it's a woman, in terms of both body and clothing)

Why? Because my first language is Finnish. And, well, "Anna" is a Finnish woman's name. And "-tar" (or "-tär", depending on vowel harmony) is an ending that words, particularly ones for professions, may take to signify that it's referring to a woman. (Kind of like "-ess" ending in English.) Tbh the "-tar" ending is not really used much these days, it honestly sounds quite old fashioned, but it's still something that any native speaker will recognize.

So while I know what the actual etymology for the name Sauron used is, I can't help it. The sort of Finnish part of my brain is just like, hey, that sounds feminine, and, well. Mostly I find it funny, but it's also slightly frustrating in the sense that otherwise my image of Sauron is... fairly masculine? so it doesn't really fit the rest of the pattern and it's only because of the damn name that I imagine him so. That being said, though, I would not mind a depiction of Annatar that was like, this hot buff lady, appearance-wise

(PS, I'm 99% convinced that the anna -part of the name Annatar does have its roots in Finnish anyway, through a different route. I think in Quenya it has to be related to the verb anta-, "give". In Finnish, the verb for "give" is antaa — which, incidentally, in imperative form becomes anna, but that's beside the point — so the Quenyan word is a little too similar to be a coincidence, when I know that Tolkien knew a few words of Finnish, was interested in the language, and borrowed elements from it when he was creating Quenya.)

Firstly, I've never ever suffered while learning stuff I had no idea about...

Secondly, I'm not Finnish, but Moravian, so I had no idea, but I understand your frustration, at least language-wise. In 'the Silmarillion', there's a character named Magor - that means 'nut-head' in Czech... so I totally feel you, I wish I could take that Magor character seriously but I can't but his name's telling me that he's crazy!

Also, it's a strange coincidence that people portray Annatar as a very feminine person, with now knowing of your interpretation of his name! Strange! Personally, the way I imagine Sauron varies as well, but I don't really care, with that said if anybody suddenly decided to picture him as a buff woman, or as a woman in general, I wouldn't really argue... also don't feel frustrated 'cause of him, there're worse things to be frustrated about...

Anyway thanks for indulging me! Now I won't be able to unsee it!

(Concerning your P.S., iirc, Quenya was actually influenced by Finnish and Latin, so the coincidence isn't very likely a coincidence, as you have correctly presumed...)

the middle child of her parents, elliot is the fourth of her father’s five children

her mother is his second ( now ex — ) wife, though they remain cordial and have since moved on

grew up with a silver spoon, her dad being a wall street giant who would split his time between nyc and, once upon a time, connecticut — though it ultimately became a back-and-forth from nyc and the outer banks when elle was about four

her mother was adopted into an old money family ( on the lower end of that group ) in charlotte when she was a baby and had become something of a socialite when young, but shifted to becoming an entrepreneur. of what ?? i still haven’t figured that out LFJDGS

has a half-sister and half-brother from her dad’s first marriage, tallulah ( aka tally, a pain in my ass over on my indie fdlkjgs ) and bennett, and is basically a mini tally as all she really had were brothers and was Attached to her big sis whenever she’d visit

and as for her older and younger brother..... they might be wcs soon enough so we’ll leave that be for now DFLSGKJ

now onto ELLE ! she was the princess of the younger three hong kids, like the apple of her mother’s eye and her father’s Biggest tormentor

aka would hog the phone whenever he couldn’t come home for the night to tell him good night, hounded him to read her bedtime stories, pretty much always got her way in the most wholesome way when she was a kid

like i said before, moved to the obx when she was four because her mom used to visit when she was a kid and loved it; it was also due to its convenience in seeing her maternal grandparents regularly, its quieter nature in comparison to the affluent hubs for businessmen outside of manhattan and just in general

her dad just went along because it’s what his wife wanted and fuck it, at least the kids wouldn’t hound them to take them to places beyond their urban surroundings as often DLSFJDS

growing up, she wasn’t Too much of a brat but liked having the spotlight on her — she’d accredit it to tally’s influence AND her parents caving to her whims more often than not — and was very sociable and respectful even back in primary school

LOVED to explore, and, while not a tomboy per se, would take part in some activities her brothers or other boys in her grade participated in; be it to bond, trail along her siblings’ every move because she didn’t wanna stray far from action, or to prove that she can hold her own, she’d do it

uhhh overall a cute, if not high-maintenance, kid, but her teen years ?? yikes, people would be in for a ride bc this is when she REALLY started to emulate tally and shift her boldness towards riskier shit

basically could’ve been a main character on outer banks itself with her reckless antics and partying as a teenager…. and now, even SGDLKF

could’ve been considered a typical kook, save for her wild streak; she could hang with the pogues and wouldn’t let her slight superiority complex come into play unless she was challenged or something, otherwise she’d chase the party and the fun wherever she could find it

loves fashion and being the hottest in the room, didn’t need to step on toes to get further but would do so at times Solely to make a point/to call someone out on their shit

is now attending columbia u, rather she’s taking a Break as she makes sure she’s content with the path she’s taking ( aka being the trashy 21 year old she wants to be, chilling at the family home with just her siblings and daddy’s money with no Major worries involving the near future )

isn’t the most studious person, but she’d gotten far enough to begin wrapping up her major whenever she decides to head back

though.. the entire time has been mostly spent sleeping with some of her rich friends, drinking and smoking pot, with the occasional hit of whatever clean enough drug that one of her friends had on them

also spent a lot of her time meeting up with her socialite big sis as a plus one to some cooler events, so while she’s not famous, her name has made the rounds where it matters given her surname’s already established relevance in nyc

when she’s not getting an education and is homebound instead, she’s pissing off her neighbours with her house parties at the family home on the beach, doing dumb shit the second she’s inside of a gala or club — albeit with partial discretion that’s completely ignored whenever around other young adults — and just chilling poolside and staying hydrated fgkldjsg

personality and shit

if i were to use a label to describe her, she'd be a mix between the princess/baby doll, the hedonist and the reveller i think ?? i don’t even know where to place her LKSDFGJLK

self-confidence is through the roof, KNOWS she’s pretty and doesn’t really let rumours or negativity get her down — aside from wanting to unleash hell if someone keeps irritating her for whatever reason

she’s messy as hell, but around the uptight, live-through-your-kids parents of kooklandia she puts on the façade of a poised young woman who has Some fun because she knows it bodes well.. only even then, she doesn’t maintain it bc honestly, who cares —

she’s not a complete dick per se, but she can be snide and boastful when provoked

has something of a superiority complex, independent and lives lavishly with reckless abandon

non-committal yet sensible when it comes to who she sleeps with; typically has a couple of stable fuck buddies but has had some one night stands if she’s feeling it

keeps her true inner circle small, but gets off on attention and likes to stay cordial with some people, so she’s got quite a few friends all the same

like i said earlier, will hang with the pogues and thinks the whole class rivalry thing is kind of stupid when it means sticking with her own would mean dealing with parent pleasers, polo shirt enthusiasts and either being too straight-laced or too destructive for her liking

.. so she’s a far cry from her sister in that regard, otherwise rip GLSKJ

though that doesn’t stop her from unleashing her pompous attitude onto a pogue when it seems appropriate, aka doing anything to piss her off

there really isn’t much to expand on tbh, though i will say that her emboldened nature and need for a good time however she can get it comes out more than her uglier side ( except her vanity. that’ll never go away KSFDG )

some quick plot ideas

could carry over into a trio type of thing depending on where she stands with either of them, or they’re a different couple of pals she’s made over the years

her best friend and confidante, someone she can have cute moments with between the chaos and one of the few people that elle would probably accost someone for if they hurt the other in any way

enemies are always fun ! probably rooted in a competitive streak more than anything else but i’m all ears for a more complex reason

a hateship/ewb would be fun with her too, oh my god sfdgklj

FAKE FRIENDS !! either in the past or currently, probably stayed friends for the sake of their appearances but have a lot of quiet disdain for each other — though elliot wouldn’t be too bothered by that situation beyond being around someone she deems soul-sucking, face value hype and knowing they probably need her more than she needs them gives her too much satisfaction fkskgls

an ex-something, open to anyone. either someone her parents forced on her to straighten her out a tad that she wound up liking…. after a good period of her telling them to fuck off sdglk or someone she’d been seeing for a while at her own accord, likely someone her parents wouldn’t approve of so readily. would’ve ended the same way: with her calling it off because she didn’t want to settle down, not even for a relationship ( and perhaps bc she’s scared of commitment with her cracked family dynamic that’s been a thing since birth, but that’s another story jsdfkg )

or we can just as easily do high school exes who only really stayed together until graduation bc their parents were being Some level of overbearing with how they’d be such a good couple — not that there was nothing there, just nothing beyond sex and being some kind of status symbol to each other, idk lfkgsd

her designated event pals would be super fun ?? sdgkflj like they go to all of these big parties and galas with their families, break off to do their own thing bc those events are boring as fuck, and head back to her place before she throws an after-party of sorts. they’d be decent friends beyond this though, them being someone she trusts a good bit compared to others in her circle

David’s character development as seen through his clothes

In light of the quarantine and suddenly having loads of free time when I usually have none, I figured I'd take this opportunity to revive an old post that I think got swallowed by the internet (probably because I tried to get fancy with gifs, so I'm just gonna do screenshots this time)

Basically, I'm a fashion hoe and I adore David Schreibner so this is an analysis of how the clothes he wears in season 3&4 reflect his journey as a character - let’s go!

Essentially, one thing I love about David is that he's a very multi-layered character, but he remained super consistent throughout his development. That's really hard to do, and DRUCK did it beautifully. To summarise it very crudely, I'd say that there are three main levels to David that we discover in season 3:

- Layer 1 is the mysterious cool guy that Matteo is instantly struck by

- Layer 2 is a fun, goofy and playful side of him which Matteo discovers quite quickly when they start getting to know each other

- Layer 3 is the very vulnerable, scared side of David which Matteo sees hints of a couple of times earlier in the season, but it’s so heavily veiled by the other two layers that I would argue he doesn’t really see this side of David until at least episode 7, and only truly sees the proper extent of it when they reunite at the pool and David finally talks about his feelings.

I also think there’s another layer which is the competitive, sassy side of him, but I have yet to figure out where to place this one, so I’ll leave it aside for now (I think it could play a big role in his potential season, though: when you’re competitive but struggling to achieve your dreams, it can be really painful. But I digress)

None of the three layers cancel each other out of course, David is still a cool person and a goofy person even when we’ve seen his more vulnerable side. But by the end of the season we’re finally able to see how these three aspects of him work together and influence each other to inform his behaviour.

This brings me to his fashion. I absolutely adore what they’ve done with it, and how consistent it has been throughout this development. I just want to point out a couple of examples of his outfits that perfectly demonstrate his consistent and believable development.

Of course throughout the majority of season 3, we see David sporting plain, baggy, dark coloured outfits in order to, we assume, be noticed as little as possible. What I’d like to look at is the clothes we see him wear that depart from this.

There’s of course this iconic shirt, which we see him wear very early on in the season. It hints at his goofier side, which Matteo has already gotten to know. I love that they had him wear it in the almost kiss scene, because although Matteo was very smitten by David’s cool guy side, I don’t think he would have fallen for him so completely if he hadn’t gotten to know goofy David. DRUCK makes a point of showing us the two of them clowning around a lot, so it’s clear that this playful attitude is something of a requirement for both of them, in a relationship. This shirt is also slightly more revealing than a lot of the clothes we’ve seen David wear so far, so that's a reminder of the hint of vulnerability that David has let Matteo glimpse. Basically I love this dinosaur shirt because it encapsulates hints of all three of these layers of David, making the almost kiss even more believable as we are reminded of exactly why Matteo is falling for this guy.

Similarly, the shirt David is wearing here is more revealing than what we’ve seen him wear before, once again reminding us of the reasons why Matteo is so smitten. However there is none of the playfulness of the dinosaur shirt, it’s just dark colours, slightly paralleling the way Matteo feels about this situation: a little vulnerable, and definitely not playful (it’s so clear how uncomfortable he is)

Fast forwarding a little to this scene, aside from being an absolutely iconic look, I was so excited about this wardrobe choice because it completely communicates what is happening in this scene: David is beginning to let other people in. He’s meeting his boyfriend’s friends properly for (I assume) the first time, and later in the scene he gives Abdi advice in a way that implies personal experience (so hints of vulnerability). What’s great about the shirt is that along with this slight opening up to the world, we finally see David starting to wear clothes with a little more pattern and structure, but it remains consistent to his character by having a dark colour scheme. The shirt is also still quite baggy, reminding us that David hasn’t quite let these other people see his more vulnerable side.

This one is quite simple and goes without saying: Matteo and David wearing each other’s clothes, the morning after they’ve finally let themselves be completely open and vulnerable with each other. It’s such a gorgeous visual way of saying: we understand each other, we are here for each other, we love each other.

This one is the look that made me most emotional. The sunglasses are fun and goofy but also cool, and they hide part of his face so again a reminder of his vulnerable side. And paired with the jumper which denotes a sense of belonging to a group, we get this: David still has some way to go in terms of letting people in, but he feels like he belongs, and he’s beginning to open up. I love it so much.

Going into season 4, we see David wear a shirt that serves a very similar purpose to the dinosaur shirt, except this time it has the added layer of being a shirt that belongs to Matteo. Here we are once again reminded of all these layers of David, all these reasons Matteo fell for him, but it also goes the other way around. Indeed, this clip is technically David’s perspective, so we see that he loves Matteo for all of these reasons too, and they go so well together because they understand each other on all of these different levels.

Then for the rest of season 4:

Throughout season 4 we get to see David wearing much lighter colours, or wearing outfits like in the scene where he meets the boys that fit the darker colour scheme that he has always adhered to but have more structure (and occasionally more pattern). This is what I was saying earlier about him having let his friends in to an extent, but still having some way to go before he lets himself be truly open.

On that note, in season 4 I know some people found him out of character, but I don’t really agree: I think those three layers are still at play. The only difference is that we’re no longer seeing him through Matteo’s eyes, and he hasn’t let many people in all the way to layer 3, so of course we’re not going to see him in the complexity that we saw him by the end of Matteo’s season.

Indeed, by this point David seems to have relaxed a little, I’d say he’s let Matteo’s friends in to layer 2, so he is now both cool David and goofy David. But as far as we know he has not yet let them see him truly be vulnerable. This means that he’s still at a level with them that he was with Matteo quite early on in season 3, so there is clearly still a long way to go before he really opens up.

Therefore I hope that if/when he gets a season, we’ll get to see him working towards finally being totally open with the world (not that he needs to tell the world all of his intimate secrets, but just being his entire self). I’m sure Matteo isn’t the only person that he’s let in to layer 3 (Laura most definitely was before him), but I think it’s important to be able to be vulnerable and honest about not being okay with more than just one or two people - maybe we’ll see him start letting in some of his own friends, new or old.

But there you have it, guys. There’s always so much to see, and tbh this only really scratches the surface of what there is to read, but in essence this is why I love what they did with David’s wardrobe choices throughout the two seasons that we have known him. It’s such a perfect example of what DRUCK does so well, which is developing characters in every aspects of the show. I’m really excited to see where they’re going to take David next, and how it will be reflected in what he wears!

I kinda want to scratch the “joining in good faith” part of my theorizing about Nemu from my last post about the last hpmi drama track.

But, tbh... this is perhaps little less worse than what I was expecting about her reveal back in December. “Little less worse” because anything like human traficking (which was part of that kidnapping storyline in BTB), or death is TECHNICALLY worse than “being part of Party of Words and Central Ward by brainwashing”. Yeap.

I don’t feel good for knowing that exact detail. Definitely suspected it from the very beginning (and very convenient of Ramuda being the double agent he is -clones/copies aside not being 100% confirmed atm- being a fashion designer who recruits young women as “models”... yup, nuff said :))) ) because, while I think some women might have joined POW and/or CW in good faith (like anything equivalent IRL, perhaps a bit too naively, maybe not), some might not... or were they forced... by brainwashing, too.

Exactly where I thought this was the direction it was going for. (also, because I still think 19 IS a pretty fishy detail to go by - I believe it is pretty young for such a position in the government, it doesn’t matter if you tell me “but this is fiction, Kao” >.>).

I’m not gonna say this was as gut punching as the BBs Drama Track’s reveals dump, but still somewhat in that same sad train of thoughts. We didn’t have a very... bittersweet ending (because it does seem that MTC have their camaraderie on a good point? with a same objective on front), even though it did end in a very anxiety inducing cliffhanger.

The thing with the BBs’ being “VERY gut punching” was because most of the stuff about MTC was built and revealed slowly from the beginning (the military involvement with the hypmics, Jyuto having his reasons to be like he is, Samatoki and the mysterious whereabouts of Nemu, all of these have been hinted and told from the beginning), but the thing with the BBs...? not really.

Hence why they seemed a bit “plain” in hindsight, compared to the others... in contrast, for example, with MTC.

We didn’t know about the orphanage until the BTB manga... it was hinted they were orphans, yes. But, not the whole gut punching situation train around them. Okay, orphanage? Fine. The head of the orphanage being a douch*ebag who attempted to child trafic the kids under his wing? Yikes. Ichiro working his butt since he was FOURTEEN? Plausible. Bad experiences with paternal figures? Eh, I can see it. ...because their previous caretaker was ALSO a douch*ebag? Okay, wai- A conman who is probably pulling the strings or is a middle man of sorts TURNS out to be their obvious absent father who MIGHT have abandoned them? OKAY, SERIOUSLY, WAIT. OH, and did we mention the Yamadas are some of the victims from WWIII? I SAID, WAIT.

Adding the factor that the whole real hypmic deal was recently put in action in the side manga and BTB only to confirm that “okay, yes, Sasara and Kukou were hypnotized. CW wants to brainwash Jakurai, too... this was only to reaffirm: “Ah, and by the way... there’s a high chance that not ONLY Nemu was brainwashed to join CW, just saying~”

So, there’s that.

It’s nice to see the camaraderie between the guys. Fighting for a dream, and all that. This track made Riou shine a lot, though, hahah. I think he is a severely underused (and somewhat understimated) character, because from lots that I have seen about him (fanon and the like) is because his personality is mostly built around what he lived under the military. It’s also quite nice seeing Samatoki in such a position where he is not the cocky, short-hair-tempered man he is (although the gap moe has been shown before) because his weakness is his little sister. So, it’s easy to assume that Ramuda/CW/POW KNOWS how to get into him.

What DOES intrigue me is... was Ramuda the one who ordered the arrest (through hypmic influence) just to “disturb” things around (”supposedly” Ichijiku wasn’t involved, but... do we believe her at this point?) to see if he can get into a side of Samatoki (at least my theory about Jyuto knowing her fell through) of pure weakness? Or to divide MTC (like what Amayado’s intentions with the BBs probably were)?

I kinda wanted this track to go to other direction, but it was definitely going to tackle the thing with Nemu, anyway.

With this, I can briefly assume what the other two divisions’ Drama Tracks might cover:

Fling Posse’s is probably going to deal the thing about Ramuda, PROBABLY confirmation about the Dice’s theory and... whatever Gentaro related (could be the thing about his real identity? his friend at the hospital’s identity?).

While Matenrou could go a bit deeper into Jakurai’s past (probably involving Hitoya and BAT in a sense), and probably more revealing details around Hifumi’s gynophobia and Doppo’s... hmm... smth? (we know he had a previous encounter with Jyuto, though).

Aside point/addendum - I can see the side manga series (while not BTB yet?) ending soon (FP & M confirmed) because the events of the 2nd DRB are still going to be developing as I’m writing this. But, I can probably assume once the DRB passes (results and all?), I can somewhat see KR and Kodansha resuming in the adaptation... or not, because there will be the anime, too... Hmmm...

tbh i don’t even know why fashion is such a big deal in the show when the creators obvs don’t rlly care about it?? it’s an enormous factor in the lives of all 3 of the miraculous users, but it’s just not there?? like, we see marinette doing that hat and Jagged Stone’s glasses, but aside from that it’s just general art stuff- and even then just from marinette. i headcanon that gabriel is like, the banana republic of the series. bland and unimaginative, but it’s brand name so it’s crazy expensive

That makes the most sense, like Hollister or Aeropostle but worse.

I feel like most of Marinette’s design limitations come from the limitations of the animation - that’s why the thing she makes the most is hats. It’s easier to animate a new model to be placed on top of an existing one than to swap out clothes. Same with the sunglasses. On the plus side, it shows Marinette is very well rounded in that she can makes so many different types of accessories and banners and devices (seriously that diary trap is amazing) but if they want to narrow her focus on being a fashion designer, she should make more…fashion. Designer is an incredibly loose term - there’s web designers, interior designers, product designers. And Marinette could easily do any of those jobs based on the skills she’s shown. So why is it the design they HAVE defined her by is the one they show the least of?

The part about fashion and Adrien I would like to expand on are his feelings about it. Does he like modeling? Does he even care about fashion? How much is it is his father’s whims and how much is his own volition? Does Adrien even know how to coordinate an outfit? How much is his discretion and how much is directed by someone else? I wanna knoooOOOOOWWW!!!

And I would be more interested in Gabriel’s scenes used for world building instead of trying to ramp up the angst. Even if it’s as simple as expanding on how far his influence reaches or what kind of fame he as. As it is, he’s just kinda accepted to be A Really Rich Guy which awards him a whole lot of weird perks. Why does him being a fashion designer get Adrien in as a voice actor??? And they don’t have to waste a whole lot of time on it, it could’ve been as simple as He Was Invited to the Royal Wedding Because He Designed The Dress but they didn’t even manage that. Maybe in the French version…

35. How in-tune with their native element are your dragons? Does it vary? If you have any dragons that aren’t, why is that?

OH yes does it vary. I have some dragons who are very elementally inclined (no mistaking Tamarind for anything but a Nature Boy), some who outright refuse their birth element (Zaffre is native to plague, but uses lightning magic), and many who are just neutral. I’d say the majority of my dragons don’t have any sort of magic or strong affinities. But the ones that do have magic often have powers that don’t have much to do with their element at all. As for why, I guess that’s just the way it is haha. Zaffre just never jived with Plague. And same with Bergamot, who hides his plague eyes with green goggles... And Kyurem has light eyes, but they’re as icy a dragon as it gets! Moraine doesn’t have magic at all, but she still relates more closely to her family’s ice roots than wind. and Gushers is wind too, but she is ALL about the arcane, it’s what interests her the most. i could list more but i think that suffices haha...

42. If your clan leader went off the deep end, who would stand by them no matter what?

Oh well, my clan has four leaders: Tarragon, Moraine, Zaffre, and Tamarind... them going off the deep end, not totally sure what it would entail omg. They’d probably all try and stand by each other though, though if they were doing like, truly horrifying stuff the others would do their best to try to figure out and ultimately stop the situation dfadsfsdg otherwise they’d do their best to be understanding of why one of them was suddenly so distraught or whatever? i think i good portion of the lair would want to like, help too. (though it also would depend on a lot of factors.

I guess if you want some more specifics, Ingot would be the most likely to stick by Moraine? Ingot really respects and trusts Moraine and they are very good friends! Kyurem of course would stick by Zaffre, they’re partners and have known each other for like 40 years by this point and have gotten closer than ever the latter half of that. Tamarind has had a bit of harder time getting support from dragons other than Tarragon and Moraine, and his heaps of exes in the lair doesn’t help, but I think I’ll say Hallow would be most likely to stick by him. They’re exes too, but it ended amicably and I think of anyone in the lair, Tamarind probably helped Hallow come to terms with the loss his charge the best, so Hallow has the utmost respect for Tam. And lastly, Tarragon... Tarragon is so lovable, friendly, and gentle that finding dragons in the lair that like him is as easy as it gets...but truthfully he isn’t super close to a ton of them outside his fellow leaders. I think the one who’d be most likely to stick by him is his younger brother Paragon, who throughout their whole lives the two have always done what they could to support each other, even if they find themselves at odds sometimes. Paragon isn’t the most popular dragon in Florabrisa, but Tarragon is always there to defend him anyway, and Paragon would definitely return the favor should something strange ever happen.

43. How has your clan changed since it started? This can mean when you first joined or in-lore.

Well, in lore, the clan’s certainly grown a lot in the 20 years it’s been around! It’s still a small community but it’s bustling! The gardens of Florabrisa will always be its major feature, but it has a lot more on offer now.It’s always been pretty agrarian, but there are much more food options now than there used to be. Crystalspirit has grown his art gallery considerably through the years and now with Ardest joining the clan, there could be a local art scene coming... I also wanna get some theatre in, Florabrisa definitely has one and i think Tabbagh is gonna be a big player, they love the stage. Ricotta too honestly, she’s very theatrical. and Bomoseen will probably be trying to introduce film to the lair (though they currently don’t have the tech for it. Bom needs to talk to Xana.....)

And out of lore, I think I still have more or less the same concept as i did at the start! The biggest change might be that at first Tarragon was the only leader, but I later decided to elevate Moraine, Zaffre, and Tamarind to be his equals. Tarragon leading by himself just didn’t really make sense to me haha. Also adding the swamp was a pretty big deal! Picked up some many swamp aes dragons this year haha... Also, initially I did think that breeding didn’t have to be a relationship thing, but admittedly I’d done absolutely nothing with the concept so that’s probably not the case anymore dfafd I’ve definitely aged the lair too, like a lot of dragons I initially saw as kids have grown up now :`) i do wonder how much further along i’ll take the timeline, since I do have some dragons in my lair who lorewise intend to leave Florabrisa within a few years. I could probably stick them in my den, or just let them stick around anyway...?

45. How competent would your clan say your leaders are? How competent are they really?

Tarragon, Moraine, Zaffre, and Tamarind have been leading for almost 20 years now, so I’d say the clan thinks they’re in good hands haha. All four leaders have their different personalities and roles and balance each other out in many ways, and they all take the clan’s needs very seriously and the dragons of the clan feel respected by them! They do what they can for the clan and get the job done as best the can, so yeah the clan would say they’re very competent! And I’d say so too, they are good bunch together :D

49. Who’s the “clan mom”?

Ooh, there are a few dragons who could fit the bill, Moraine being an obvious one. Ricotta probably fits the bill even better than her though! Ricotta will really go out of her way to make sure dragons are getting properly fed..or at least eating plenty of pasta haha. She is incredibly caring for the wellbeing of the lair and does what she can to make her fellow Florabrisians happy and blessed by her presence haha. Ricotta admittedly does tend to pick favorites though dasfsda And there’s Clash too, who is very nurturing and along with her wife Antikyra has taken care of younger dragons of the clan for awhile now! Many of them definitely think of the two as parental figures. The list of dragons under 20 years old who have called Clash ‘mom’ is probably quite long.

53. What dragons make up your most disgustingly cute relationship? What makes them so cute?

OH man lots of strong contenders here. I think Prim and Proper are the best answer! They have matching aesthetics, are pretty much inseparable and utterly glow in each others’ company, they share everything, and of course THEIR NAMES omg... No one in the clan knows if like, they just coincidentally have matching names or if they did it on purpose. (honestly I think it’s a mix of both. they happened to have similar names then just..made them match better haha this isn’t 100% set in stone but i’ve considered their ’full names’ are Primrose and Prosperity. Either way Prim is definitely short for Primrose, it’s Proper’s name i’m not as sure about.)

62. Who’s the clan troublemaker and who has to clean up the mess?

The clan troublemaker is Prank Master Patlican! You never know what to expect with her. She’s most famous for hiding vegetables in strange places, but she will do almost anything. From good old fashioned handshake buzzers to leaping out at poor unassuming dragons to switching locations of Tarragon’s potted plants, she has a large prank repertoire... Her friend Ottomy does his best to clean up her mess. He’s very often the target himself fsadfaf

63. Are there any rivals in your clan? Are they friendly rivals or bitter enemies?

Oh yes, I got some rivals! There’s definitely some stuff going on with Xana/Iolite versus Matrix/Micron. I think they’re more friendly than anything, but then again they probably subscribe to ‘keep your enemies closer’ haha... Matrix also has some sort of rivalry with Lisianthus, who is mostly just confused by it tbh. They’re probably ultimately friends though.

Millisievert and Falcata were pretty fierce rivals and hate everything the other one stands for. They’ve mellowed out a bit over the years and mostly just try to avoid each other now.

Tamarind and Kyurem also probably count to some extent? Mostly Tamarind is bitter that Kyurem managed to take both his wife AND son (and not even a son from said wife dfdsaf) They do try to be adults about it and are generally cordial to each other, though Tamarind is definitely like ‘that guy’ under his breath.

OH and how could i forget. Marglobe and Warglobe! Marglobe just wants to grow tomatoes and Warglobe won’t stand for it for some reason.

69. Who misses their old flight/home the most?

Ooh hmm..most dragons are quite happy to be staying in Florabrisa and came in part because they wanted to get away from their home for whatever reason.

There is Tamarind! I imagine he misses his Nature home every now and then, but he is chargebound to stay in Wind. That said, his charge being the native flora of the Windswept Plateau is like, obviously it can take care of itself so he doesn’t really need to stay there, he can definitely leave for a period of time if he so desired, but it’d still feel wrong to him to do so. Plus all his friends are here!

Osira probably gets a little homesick too. She is very strongly an arcane dragon and I’m not really sure why she left? Maybe she just wanted to go exploring, or just needed to take some personal time. It’s likely she and her gf Gushers will decide to move to the Starfall Isles at some point, but for now they’re happy together in Florabrisa c:

79. How religious is the bulk of your clan?

Not very religious at all! Florabrisa doesn’t exalt or really follow the teachings of any deity, aside from the general influence of Wind culture. That’s right. Florabrisa commits tax evasion fdsfgd

There are some members who follow a particular deity or two, like Qirrasi is very devout to the Plaguebringer, and Inermis is by far the biggest Windsinger follower around, but yeah in general deities are talked about very little in Florabrisa, and rituals are few and far between.

That said... I also gotta mention Ricotta. She claims to be a goddess. Most of the clan doesn’t really think she’s one, but there is a small handful of dragons who do, and she is happy to accept their prayers and offerings and give them blessings for it! (though she’s happy to share her divine food with almost anyone in the clan anyway, as long as they aren’t rude to her!) Some of her known followers include Macaroon, Artichoke, Calabasas, Nutshell, Sicliane, and Marbles! (and even some that don’t really believe in her are happy to play along anyway haha) There’s also the newer goddess in town Lemuria, but considering her complete inability to back up her claim, I don’t think she has even one follower so...RIP her.

for our convenience I have divided the headcanons in three separate categories, starting from least to most sad and ending with a sweet one. :D

First of all: trigger warning for alcoholism and mentions of sexual/physical abuse. Here I wanna state that I personally don’t like demonizing Lila about what she did to the twins. Honestly, to me she reads more as one of those parents who are still children themselves, rather than a malicious woman who went out of her way to hurt her kids on purpose.

Second, let me start by saying I have this FC for Lila that suits my image of her PERFECTLY but I can’t find more pictures of the woman depicted, because she’s some Greek singer with a very small following. ( sCREams )

lukewarm sad:

Lila’s aesthetic is opulence. But because she’s poor as dirt, the stuff she chooses to ‘decorate’ her home with are usually really cheap bling bling that she finds at street bazaars. Because she’s very lonely and emotionally numb, she likes to fill her house with shiny things she can look at and delude herself with.

She wears really heavy perfume and accessorizes a lot ( her fingers are practically covered in rings at all times ) . Lila dresses in a very sexualized fashion, without any real sense of what’s aesthetically pleasing. Her clothes are cheap and sometimes... don’t really fit her. ( Jerome fatshames her on the regular for this ) A thing that says a lot about her psyche is that, even though she’s always enveloped in this ‘nice’, extravagant wrapping, her body is very neglected. She’s a bit on the plump side, but because of her age + malnutrition + lack of exercise, it makes her look wrinkly and lumpy ( yes she has neck wrinkles and that’s actually canon )

Lila will drink pretty much anything available and she often starts drinking in the morning. The smell of booze plus cologne is an especially revolting one, coupled with the fact she smokes as well. When she eats, it’s usually really low quality junk food, save for the times Zachary would bring something home from work for them.

Lila isn’t a horrible cook. When the twins were younger she could cook up a decent goulash. She knows some Russian ‘mom’ recipes, passed down from one generation to the other, but, as she grew up next to Zachary herself and he would most often take care of the kitchen, she’s not very experienced. As time goes by and she descends further in her addictions, Lila stops cooking or buying groceries all together and starts eating outside by herself, leaving no option for her sons but to learn how to prepare their own meals.

Lila and Sheba (the snake) spend a lot of time together during work and often in the house as well. It’s not unusual for Lila to have forgotten Sheba in the caravan and the snake to have nested in a pile of dirty laundry. Fortunately for everyone in that trailer Sheba has a very calm temper and is accustomed to humans handling her. Lila, despite being the one to handle her most, leaves the ‘gross’ parts ( such as feeding, cleaning the cage ) of being her owner to her sons instead.

pretty damn sad:

Contrary to popular belief, Lila doesn’t have an explosive temper. When she’s sober; she’s actually rather catatonic. She throws fits, of course, especially under the influence, but unless drunk she’s not likely to pick a fight. It is Jerome who antagonizes her 25/7 and Lila’s prefered method to deal with it has always been going to Zachary and crying about how horrible Jerome is so that Uncle Zach would reprimand him. However, she’s not above throwing things at him during her fits ( their caravan looks like a mess all the time ) and she’s been physically abusive towards both twins when they were younger. Growing up it became harder for her to beat Jerome up because he could fight back. But she can get creative sometimes, much like her brother, and, say, grab the clothing iron to slap him with.

Lila doesn’t refer to Jerome as her son. She’s stopped doing so ever since Jerome was in primary school. He calls him by his first name. When Jerome does something ( or Lila thinks he does something ) to Jeremiah, Lila tells him things along the lines of “ Stay away from my son! ” as if he’s a stranger. Jerome doesn’t call her mother either. Around other people he will most often refer to her as simply ‘her’ or with an insult and when addressing her he doesn’t use any particular name. Just ‘you’. She’s much closer with Jeremiah, however, probably because he doesn’t antagonize her.

really sad tbh:

She and Uncle Zachary are too close to each other, with Zachary being very controlling towards her ( a behavior Jerome later on displays towards his brother, in imitation ). But Lila, through the years, has developed a dependence on him. He is her big brother, who will take care of things for her when she’s in trouble etc etc. Zachary is also rather possessive of Lila; he likes to know the guys she sleeps with and has often acted as a pimp to her in the past. Clearly he doesn’t care about what she does to make ends meet, but he does stick his greasy hands in her earnings under the excuse of ‘she’s not responsible enough to handle them herself’.

In the past Cicero had not only shown her some genuine affection, he had also helped her financially. But there’s a darker side to that, because Lila wasn’t genuinely attracted to him. In a sense, he groomed her. And when she realized that, she felt deeply ashamed - though not ashamed enough to stop sleeping with him immediately. These days, however, she seems to avoid him as much as she can.

sweet :

One of the few ‘family traditions’ Lila has with her sons consists of gathering in front of the TV and watching soap operas together. Jerome and Jeremiah would most often be comfortably snuggled up together besides her as kids. Growing up, Miah would sit next to their mom as a separating barrier between her and Jerome. They don’t talk during the soaps, but they do call each other when the show starts. After Miah leaves the home, the tradition slowly begins to fade.

EDIT : forgot to mention that the soaps headcanon came up in a convo with @/craftedsanity. I don’t remember if it was him or me who came up with it, so, to give credit where credit is due we’re gonna say it was him. But it’s such a good headcanon I couldn’t help it and I’ve incorporated it to the backstory ok, don’t judge me I like bittersweet things. :D

Alaina Lavellan (Companion)

Here it is !! No one asked for it but here it is !! It took me two days but Alaina was worth it ♥ if anyone wants to do it I got the template from here (and if you do it I want to see :’) )

Inquisitor’s Name: Alaina Lavellan

Nicknames: Lainie, Lanes

Race, Class, & Specialization: Elf, Rouge, Assassin

Varric’s Nickname for them: Doey (dough-we, like a doe)

Default Tarot Card: Queen of Wands

How they are recruited: After arriving at Skyhold, Dorian will mention to the Inquisitor that he had received a letter from an friend who is in need of assistance. If the Inquisitor accepts the request, they will meet with Asiel and Alaina at the Gnawed Noble Tavern in Denerim (only avaliable for that quest). Asiel will explain that he is a runaway magister-to-be from Tevinter and the Dalish elf with him, Alaina, is a friend he met along the way to Fereldan. The Inquisitor has the option of recruiting them in exchange for offering protection to Asiel and Alaina from his family and anyone his family sends or just simply declining to give them safe harbor.

Mini Bio: Alaina was born in Antiva City and lived a small but normal life with her parents. Her mother was a baker and her father was a florist. Although both of her parents had been city elves, they still worshiped the Elven Pantheon and tried to maintain much of their culture and language and passed all their knowledge onto Alaina.

When Alaina was eight years old, her parents were murdered by a group of humans who had been angered by her mother who had refused their advances earlier that day. With no family and being unable to provide for herself, she roamed Antiva City’s streets for a month, surviving by being stealthy, fast, and subtle. She was able to get by by steal most of her meals and conning her way into temporary shelter.

One day she was caught stealing from a Crow and instead of punishing her they recruited her to become one. Alaina stayed with the Crows, learning how to become an Assassin and became friends with the only other elf her House, Elio. When she and Elio were thirteen, they were about to finish their training when they decided they didn’t want to live the life of a Crow. They devised a plan to escape and executed it right before their ceremony. Unfortunately, they were caught and Elio sacrificed himself so Alaina could escape. She headed south and made it into the wilderness between Antiva and the Free Marches where she found by the Lavellan clan who had been passing.

She stayed with the Lavellan clan, and although she was happy and accepted she still felt like she truly didn’t belong. When she turned eighteen she choose Mythal as her personal deity for her vallaslin, and was greatly influenced by memories of her being her mother’s favorite deity. When Alaina was twenty she was out hunting when she found Asiel who had been gravely injured by mercenaries who had been sent to capture him and bring him back to Tevinter. Alaina and her clan took care of Asiel until he was fully healed and when it was time for him to leave, Alaina requested for him to take her with him.

Where they are in Skyhold: At the Herald’s Rest at the bar. (Depending on your choice after her personal quest) In the chair beside Bull.

Things they Generally Approve of: Snarky funny comments, helping anyone in need, supporting/defending elves, flirting with her, doing other inner circle quests, anytime you pick flowers (crystal grace, dawn lotus, etc.) ?? it’s like automatic approval and it’s like god Alaina shut up.

Things they Generally Disapprove of: being a meanie >:(, conscripting the mages or templars, hostility towards elves, racism towards any race tbh, with Alaina it’s really hard to gain her disapproval because she’s so neutral

Mages, Templars, Other?: Alaina doesn’t care which one you choose as long as you don’t force them to join the Inquisition and treat them like prisoners. However, if you have the Templars join she’ll approve but if you have the Mages join she’ll greatly approve

Friends in the Inquisition:

Blackwall: Alaina fully and completely believes that Blackwall is a warden despite the fact that a lot of his responses towards being a warden are so vague. Although she thinks they have a friendly relationship, Blackwall is not very fond of her due to her inquisitive nature and the fact that she’ll constantly ask him questions about being a warden, what he did before he was a warden, etc. so he often tries to avoid her.

Cassandra: Alaina loves Cass and can be often caught biting her lip as she stares at Cass’ arms because oh gosh those guns ??? ♥ Can she lift Alaina with those arms ?? She has a friendly relationship with Cass due to the fact that she is very pushy to spend time with her to get to know her. It also helps that Alaina is also a fan of Varric’s smutty romance novels.

Cole: Alaina is very friendly towards Cole and likes Cole but for the most part her dumbass has no idea what he’s talking about even though he might be mentioning her thoughts and feelings or others’ thoughts and feelings about her.

♦ Dorian: Alaina absolutely adores Dorian, and almost immediately considers him a close friend. She thinks he’s one of the most hilarious and charming people she’s ever met and loves listening to him and Asiel banter due to the fact they have a rival kind of relationship. She loves spending time with him in the library and although she isn’t very good at chess, she’ll play with him. Dorian absolutely loves the fact that Alaina makes her own oils and loves it even more that she makes him his own. Everyday she compliments his mustache at least once and everyday he compliments her hair at least one.

♥ ♦ Iron Bull: The first time Alaina meets Iron Bull she practically swoons. Oh gosh those arms ?? Do you work out ?? After the initial “holyshit he’s so hot” moment, she and Iron Bull are thick as thieves. Alaina loves Iron Bull because not only is he funny and likes to drink and party, but he often helps guide her in many aspects of her life. Iron Bull likes her also because she loves to drink and party, but also because gets amazingly along with the Chargers. It is implied she and Iron Bull have slept together, and if Iron Bull and the Inquisitor or Dorian are not in a relationship with him by What Pride Had Wrought, she and him form one. After What Pride Had Wrought, the Inquisitor can find a Necklace of Kadan equipped in her inventory.

Sera: Alaina likes Sera’s nature and the fact that she just wants to have fun and put things back to normal, because in all honesty so does Alaina. Often Sera will be begging Alaina to participate in pranks with her but the thought of making fun of someone, even if it’s not in a harmful way, makes Alaina want to cry.

♦ Solas: Alaina loves Solas and treats him like he’s a Hahren, drinking up all of the knowledge he can provide her. She can often be found lounging on the couch next to him, listening to his stories of the fade, his opinons on their current mission, previous historical events, and even elves, although he’s learned to be a bit more gentle about that subject with her. Solas also likes Alaina because she is so willing to listen and learn new things, and he loves how her opinion on elves isn’t too extreme due to the fact that not only is she Dalish, but she was born as a city elf so she understands both sides of the track. Solas also loves her kind and gentle nature and how she’s so idealistic, but he’s also afraid how idealistic and naive she is. He believes that something is going to happen to crush that point of view of hers and he’s not sure how he will react to his friend losing that part of her.

Varric: Varric often tells Alaina that she reminds him of his friend Merrill, and every time he says it she practically beams because she can see the fondness in his eyes. The two get along very well, Varric loves teaching Alaina how to play Wicked Grace because she’s just so bad at it and Alaina loves listening to all the stories Varric has to tell.

Vivienne: There has been so many times that Alaina has said that she wants to grow up to be just like Vivienne. She loves the strong and important aura Vivienne always presents and looks up to her almost like a mother figure. Vivienne in turn loves being that motherly figure for Alaina, because she is just so happy and adorable and loves listening to Vivienne. One thing, however, that irks Vivienne is Alaina’s fashion sense. By the Maker, how can that girl just run around Skyhold in an over-sized tunic?

Romanceable: Alaina is romanceable by any gender and any race. After the Inquisitor recruits her and Asiel, and after a couple of flirting options, a cutscene will trigger when you talk to her at the bar where she invites the Inquisitor to her room. The Inquisitor can accept and have sex with her, decline but continue to have romantic advances, or simply reject her all together. If the Inquisitor chooses one of the first two options, after that night Alaina will explain to the Inquisitor that it’s okay for them to have a casual relationship, and that she will not object to the Inquisitor sleeping and/or seeing someone else. It is not until after finishing her personal quest can the Inquisitor make the relationship official.

Small side mission (Sweet Smells): This quest is activated by going into the Undercroft after recruiting Alaina where the Inquisitor will find her sitting on the floor in the corner making oils and soap out of herbs, flowers, and fruit. The Inquisitor will then be given the quest Sweet Smells where they can collect flowers and fruit for Alaina to make her oils. If the Inquisitor completes the quest, it will turn out that it was an oil for the Inquisitor. ♥

Companion quest (At The Bottom of the Bottle):

The Inquisitor will wake up in the middle of the night due to some banging on their door. Opening it, they find Alaina giggling with an almost empty bottle of wine in her hand. She slides her way in, throwing her arms around the Inquisitor, blatently flirting, begging the Inquisitor to take her. The Inquisitor will set Alaina down, asking her what she’s doing. Instead she doesn’t respond and take another drink. The Inquisitor will then ask why is she so drunk and they are very confused because they’ve never seen her like this before. After enough pressing, Alaina eventually breaks down and starts sobbing, telling the Inquisitor she’s not sure how much longer she can take it all. She’s afraid, she’s weak, she’s confused, and she apologizes for feeling this way, because she knows there are others out there suffering more than she is right now. She’s supposed to be strong now, she’s had her suffering and she must learn how to move on but she feels like she can’t do it. She reaches for another drink...

Option 1 (”It’s okay, Alaina.”): Stop her drinking and console her. Explain to her that it’s okay to be afraid and to have these feelings and that she doesn’t have to be strong all the time by putting on a face, especially if alcohol is something that is helping her do that. Instead she should rely on her friends, including the Inquisitor and trust that they will all be strong together.

Alaina will thank the Inquisitor and if they are in a romance she will tell them that one of her fears is that she loves them but she is unsure if they love her. The Inquisitor can either tell her that they love her back or simply tell her that they wish to be friends. If the Inquisitor chooses to continue their romance with her they will fall asleep together in the Inquisitor’s bed. If they remain friends, or were simply friends before, Alaina will pass out on their couch.

Option 2 (”Grow up.”): Tell her to get over it and move on and the Inquisition has no time for tears.

Alaina will agree with the Inquisitor and quietly leave their room. The next day everything will seem fine and Alaina will be acting normal. However, throughout Skyhold there will be remarks made by everyone on Alaina’s health and her drinking habits, saying they often find her drunk at the bar. Alaina will then become incapacitated for the final battle due to being too drunk and a cut scene will trigger before then of Asiel yelling with tears in his eyes at Alaina that she has a drinking problem and that they need to fix it together.

#squad: who’s friends with who? what are the squad dynamics like?

Get prepared for me to mention a few characters i have only ever drawn like,, twice ever or never at all ahah. You may know some of these characters but stuff is being turned around to fit the lore better and yeeee

So the squad so to say consists of Athena, Leonidas, Desdaemon, Pyrrha (a human lesbian witch and major rebel spy that runs a bar in one of the shady corners of the city’s slums and also likes to gut “rowdy” male patrons), Raphaela (a fallen angel looking to find her purpose and a way back to the realm of her patron god, currently the best rebel sniper. Also lesbian,), Hermione (much like Dae, shared a fate of having had to work for the tyrant Tartarus- fancy as fuck vampire that taps into blood magic and poisons and has a great love for reptiles, snakes especially) and Ryujin (foreign mercenary recruited by the rebellion). Noire is still kinda part of the squad; but also has a distance, being considerably older than all of them and not getting into their shenaningans really.

So obviously there’s the twins, Athena and Leonidas with each other and their adoptive father, Noire. The twinnies are mischievous and often hanging out together, whether it be at a library or training or doing a marathon of the Sharkanado movies.

Athena and Desdae are best buds, platonic soulmates, actually literally bound to each other via a blood pact. They pretty much have no secrets between them and

Desdae and Leonidas mayy or may not be friends with benefits and occasional drinking buddies alongside Ryujin and Pyrrha.

Pyrrha is like the fun mom of the squad, maintains a good relationship with everyone and often acts like an older sister. She is closest with the girls of the squad and Desdaemon. At the very least, if they want to vent their frustrations and get advice as well as a free drink, they know who to turn to.Raphaela is the actual mom of the squad, usually the one fretting over everyone’s well-being and scolding them for skipping meals and losing sleep. Bursts into Athena’s and Leo’s room to tell them to stop watching Sharkanado and finally go to bed. Literally called “bird mom”.

Hermione? Probably the youngest of the group. They all call her “bean”. She and Leonidas are the utter nerds and bond over books and science (and experiments involving ice and blood magic), while simultaneously judging everyone else’s fashion sense with Pyrrha. Dae and Hermione have a sibling-like bond.

Ryujin is the quietest of the group but still tags along for all the shenaningans. Sparring with him is something else and usually hangs with Raphaela. New to the group, still has fitting in to do.

Noire doesn’t get involved much, usually lets them do their own thing and makes sure they’re all not getting into trouble (or bails them out of trouble when it happens-)

Still have some fleshing out to do (and a lot of characters to actually draw-) but this is it pretty much! :’>

parachute: who does your OC(s) trust the most? who makes them feel safe? who would they do absolutely anything for?

Athena: Really deeply trusts Desdaemon, Leonidas and Noire. She doesn’t invest a lot of trust in people, but when she does, she’s ride or die for real. Des is her best friend and platonic soulmate for all intents and purposes, Leonidas she has been together with since they were born, survived through hardship really bc they’re had each other and they’ve always had each other’s backs and Noire raised her since she was a kid, taking the role of a father she lost to the clutches of tyranny and supporting her to his best ability.Desdaemon: Due to his isolated upbringing, Dae really only trusts Athena, Leonidas and Hermione. He knows a lot of people, can get along with many people, being a charming bastard, but only puts his real trust in the twins, both because they’ve grown closer together through hardship and because they are the only people he remembers from his short childhood. Hermione he trusts because he grew up with her and has always been a guardian of hers, and she has been there to anchor him to his goals and reality.

Noire: The old man trusts his adoptive children the most- and that literally means the whole squad. He is very careful of who he puts into his team of assassins and spies, but for them, he would take a bullet for and feels endless guilt for having to send them out while staying behind.

zodiac: what’s their sign? does it influence their personality? do they care about astrology?

Athena: Her zodiac sign is Virgo and I suppose I just jot those down for fun, not big or knowledgeable on astrology to be fair :’> If some traits do fit though, nice! Athena is not the one to believe or care about astrology.

Des: His zodiac sign is Aquarius, he doesn’t particularly care about astrology either, though might read up on it for the heck of it.

Noire: His zodiac sign is Pisces and in fact, he does care about astrology and has studied it sometime in the past.

contact: how does your OC(s) feel about touch/physical contact? are they affectionate? if so, how do they display affection to others?

Athena: Touch her and get a headlock- Athena is very jumpy and really does not like to be touched by people she doesn’t trust. Though she will tolerate it if putting up a polite facade, during any other time she responds very defensively. With people she trusts, she is affectionate and loves hugs/cuddling (and occasionally being carried). She may sometimes lay on top of people as a sign of affection like an oversized cat, especially in dragon form.

Desdaemon: Doesn’t mind physical contact, often touches people himself when talking with them (will stop if asked), loves cuddling with friends and displays of affection can be anything from typical hugs to “I randomly got you McDonalds bc I thought of u”

Noire: Please hug this man. He loves physical contact and touch and he’ll probably sell his soul for 1 hour of hugging. Often hugs, pats and kisses friends and family. Brushes hands with a cashier and dies a bit tbh.

shooting star: if your OC(s) could have one wish what would it be?

Athena: This poor gal would have so many wishes haha. But mainly for Tartarus to never have existed, the mess she has gotten into wouldn’t exist and she’d be able to have a peaceful life.

Desdaemon: For all children to have a loving home and normal childhood- scars dig too deep and he never wants any child to experience growing up in a war-torn and corrupted nation.

Noire: For all war to stop- he has seen enough of bloody history repeating and losing dear friends to the vicious cycle and doesn’t want to see anymore. Either that, or a more selfish wish for a dead lover of his to come back to life.

Emmeline definitely comes off as a bit of an asshole/hardass, she was a prefect in school and she was gald to be so because she knew she held a position of power without abusing it to hurt people and she knows in times like these, that’s important. She wouldn’t say she’s a good person, mostly due to self esteem issues, but she wouldn’t say she’s a bad person either. When it comes to herself, she has a ton of insecurities, learned not to let them keep her from speaking up through years of building herself up. Not to let them fuck her up because in the end she is the only one she’s got. People leave, and it hurts, but always expecting the worst, preparing for it, is better than being blindsided by it. Emmeline learned that the hard way when her mother, who she took care of for years even through the abuse, left Emmeline the minute she could. If her own mother left her, what would stop anyone else from it? In school, the first few years it was hard, she was constantly forcing herself to speak up but didn’t do so effectively until she got those positions of powers. One thing Emmeline ALWAYS did was stand up for other people. For herself? Not so much. Something she still struggles with now but in a less insidious way.

Speaking of her mother, halfway through her sixth year her mother left, leaving her to handle all the affairs, bills, etc. Definitely went through a stage after her mother left in her sixth year where she was lashing out at everyone around her verbally and probably didn’t apologize for it but showed she was apologetic in her actions, how she talked, and is really bad at apologizing for her own shitty behavior. Due to being a Scorpio & her upbringing, she’s bad at apologizing when she ACTUALLY does something wrong due to the shame she feels, thinking she’s acting just like her mother. She justifies it a lot, but also beats herself up about it. Emme really has grown a lot as a person since then and will continue to do so. Still, will OCCASIONALLY drink, if ever but has never smoked or done drugs in her life. She really hates being out of control in any sense, especially because of how her mother was drunk, and when she does go to events, gets really gets sort of appalled by people getting plastered and associates it with her mother. Emmeline is judgemental, but she’s able to challenge those judgements with logic, still, she’s quick to judge.

She’s so grateful for the few friends she has, especially the ones that keep her in line and challenge her. The ones who show her kindness when she needs it and she doesn’t even know she needs it. If you have Emmeline as a friend, you have Emmeline as a friend for LIFE. She’s loyal to the core, she will fight by your side ( something she’s excellent at doing with a wand ), she will die for them and show a softer, sillier side. It’s still extremely hard for her to open up and most of them didn’t know about her home life in school ( most still don’t to this day, as she hates sharing it ), though for the first six years of Emmeline coming to school, there were definitely bruises, scars, and things that could tip them off that something wasn’t quite alright. But she never ever wanted to talk about it because the pity she got after her father ended his life made things harder tenfold. She doesn’t want to be pitied, seen as weak or anything of the sort, especially by people who’s opinion she actually cares about.

Showed kindness to younger students and played wizarding chess with them, especially the ones bullied. The ones she notice may have bad home lives and no one to be there for them. Angry, is just one word to describe how she feels about the fact that Dumbledore probably knows about a majority of the hurt / bullying that goes on in and out of Hogwarts and doesn’t seem to do a damn thing about it – so she figures taking matters into her own hands by at least doing something is worth a try. It would be awesome if she had a chess partner or someone she played chess with though that was her own age. Her father played chess with her growing up, and it’sA HUGE PART of the reason why she makes an excellent strategist for the Order and why she’s an excellent dueler now.

Emmeline blossomed her seventh year being Captain of the Dueling Club. For the first few years of Emmeline’s life at Hogwarts, she was very shy, very to herself, due to the trauma of losing her father, but when she discovered her gift with dueling it helped bring out a side of Emmeline that she didn’t even know she had. To say she’s gifted would be an understatement in this area, and it’s not just natural talent, it’s hardwork, it’s dedication, it’s the fact that she feels powerful and like she can take on all of her demons when she’s wielding a wand. It’s that with having such an ability, she saw a way out of her horrible home life & a future. Something a girl who’s used to just surviving never thought she’d be able to have, It was that, combined with the fact the world was so horrible that Emmeline realized she wanted to be an Auror when she heard of the profession. She’s willing to die to make the world a better place, a part of her wants to hunt down every dark wizard that’s made this magical world WORSE and Albus Dumbledore has already approached her about joining the Order after graduation.

IF I had to pick a label for her, it would be The Dark Knight. THE DARK KNIGHT label fits Emmeline Vance because whatever it takes to make the world a better place. Each of the character influences above have bent, broken, or disregarded the law entirely to help their friends or the people in need move forward and succeed. To get what they deserve. The LAW has never helped Emmeline, it has never been on her side, it has never saved her from the hurt she’s experienced when it should’ve – so she doesn’t believe in it. Even with her being an Auror, Emmeline hopes to be able to take advantage of that power to do more than what the law dictates. Working within the SHADOWS comes naturally to Emmeline having to be a shadow in her own home for several years, learning the benefit of quiet survival. Of quiet rebellion & quiet living. She likes to work behind the scenes to do what she needs to in this war because that’s going to be a way she survives it. It’s the way the people she cares about & those who deserve it might as well. She doesn’t like any of the attention she may get just for doing the right thing because, in her mind, doing the RIGHT THING shouldn’t be praised – it should be the standard.

This isn’t to say that Emmeline is a paragon of righteousness – maybe of her own brand of it, yes, but she doesn’t always do the right thing. Sometimes, Emmeline can do the very wrong thing thinking it is the right thing – much like many of the characters above. There’s a guilt that comes with it, one she suppresses because it’s not helpful, though it comes POURING out into the same fuel that caused her to fuck up in the first place. There is a cost of working in the shadows, of being so self sacrificing but she’s willing to pay it if means the world is better, lighter, happier, more equal. Her life, in the grand scheme of things, means nothing compared to the good she can make by sacrificing everything for it. Even her life. Emmeline is a fighter, a survivor, and everyone’s survival looks a little bit like death sometimes. She is not afraid to embrace the dark, to become the dark, if it means the world gains a little light.

random factz:

emmeline CAN EAT. she loves food and eats as much of it she can. her favorite food is strawberry cheesecake.

emmeline’s sexuality is confusing, she’s probably pan/bi but all she knows is she’s not straight and is sometimes interested in sex. regarding their gender, emme has never connected to either gender, of course because it’s the 70′s, she doesn’t know of a term for what that is. frankly, she has better things to think about than something like that but the idea of talking about it is strange to her, weird. self conscious, especially. since she’s a survivor at heart, she’s learned to compartmentalize these feelings & thoughts, and will just push it away for another time when she can actually have time to think about it. to unpack it.

emmeline speaks french and english!! she’s not connected to being part chinese at all as she really didn’t get really any education from her family about it and tbh lived in a very white area and sort of assimilated to it. she has small memories, does go to/has gone to chinese new year events and has TRIED, but feels disconnected in everything besides the food. regarding this though, her dad’s from a v important pureblood family in china, he anglonized & changed his last name for Dorcas’ and his families protection ( there was a HELLA lot going on ) & so they could start fresh somewhere.

is still learning how to be a proper human and not just survive. NEEDS HELP!! lord knows she’s got an interesting fashion sense so she tries to stick to basic colors and neutrals and some NICE BLUES.

ah hyt’s issues with being too passive and not wanting to speak up about problems bc he’s worried about hurting other people’s feelings reminds me of what happened to jin fan on snzm this week :\ except hyt had to figure it out on his own bc no one else noticed and he didnt say anything about it to anyone. jin fan was urged to speak up but hyt had to mull it over in his head and stress over it until he could come to the decision that he needed to do something to help his team.

i respect that he came to that decision on his own and acted on it. as someone who’s relatively passive and conflict-avoidant myself, i think that takes a lot of resolve and courage.

aw im happy xiao li got to sing too bc i really like his voice. what a talented boy! i think hyt is lucky the two of them give off the kind/gentle vibes so that he can pull them together. i dont know much about him, but i wonder if gem is right that hes had bad experiences with communicating with teammates (and aligning their hearts, as he said) before that’s led him to be more scared to be honest now. the 2 kids are like optimistic but you can tell hyt is so worried with their score ouch.

wu xing’s voice is nice. im a wind player but with my limited knowledge of string instruments I feel like pengpeng’s playing is okay but not amazing. fsc’s bass is questionably out of tune?? or is it just me? something feels weird about his bass playing, it sounds kinda scratchy and sticks out to me too much, in like a weird way :\ but maybe its just because im used to hearing bass in classical music and not like this

LOL qiang ge being the buffer between jym and zk, are you sure youre gonna be okay child? the more i see qiang ge, the more smol he seems to me, like a cute child, who just happens to play the most blaring instrument LOL he seems very insecure about belonging on this show. he didnt want people to choose him unless they were absolutely sure in the first round, and then in the second round, he was so scared of ruining the next group that chose him and so grateful that they were willing to choose him and that they gave him so much encouragement to join their group. the fact that he needed that much encouragement and still felt undeserving is telling. the matching photo tshirts he custom ordered are cute! what a nice friend, to spend money on this to make everyone a little happier. i think its mature of him to encourage jym by saying he should think of the worst possible happening and try to accept it, to lessen his pressure. its still weird for me to realize people call zzn “nan ge” because he just seems so young in my mind lol but then you realize there are even younger kids on this show.

zhao ke’s rap was pretty good, i respect it. with that score i bet qiang ge’s gonna feel like it’s all his fault. i wonder if he blames himself or the instrument more for the fact that he was criticized for being too unvaried, but i feel like either of those is bad bc i feel like he should be proud of his instrument.

hmm i really liked kxy’s singing voice, i thought it was really good, nicer than mz’s LOL but honestly i feel like i also understand from the teacher’s point of view, that he wasted their time and just didnt take their advice when they were trying to help him. hmm he seems likes hes very stubborn in doing what he believes, which isnt bad, he’s standing up for what he wants, but also then he immediately started crying when questioned about it. which makes me think hes not very confident in his choice and/or feels victimized/attacked for just doing what he wants. either way, kxy has shown he cries very easily lol. but i have mixed feelings about whether he’s handling criticism well. im not sure how old he is but he seems young

i kinda think yrz still seems a bit stiff to me onstage, like look at xiao zhi, hes literally so comfortable and free and hes so enjoying playing his bass guitar hes like having so much fun and is super into the music. at first i wasnt sure how well him and zy would mesh but wow hes really owned up to the avocado name LOL i feel like him and zy are really really caring older bros to yrz and hopefully yrz is super grateful bc he got super lucky.

hm :\ i kinda wanted to hear more about how they resolved the conflict between rainbow feeling too restricted by da xi’s more methodical approach to music. i think thats an interesting discussion, because i think both sides have their merits, so what kind of blend of a compromise will they come up with? and it does say a lot about their personalities. rainbow also feels similarly hesitant to reveal his feelings because of his friendship with da xi, which reminds me of hyt yet again but then this group got 5 seconds of footage in comparison so we dont really know how any of this got resolved. also how do they deal with mty sleeping and disappearing all the time?? i do think its kind of cute how mty seems to bend down and really direct his speaking towards the audience when talking to them. i really like their performance, this music style and fun-ness!

LOL the way ruiyang and yingge look at tyler is literally with such adoration wtf hahahahahaa and tyler buying them the bunny hats wtf this is so cute. feels very parental LOL theyre so supportive of him and helping him shine and tyler’s just like a child bringing them happiness LOL i think its notable that yingge says he feels like theyre all using their strengths in this perf bc thats #goals

ok im hesitant to comment on tyler’s trumpet playing bc it’s not very clean sounding to me, but you can tell hes putting a lot of effort into the small details still. and if hes been practicing a ton, i know it can be painful to try to play into that kind of mouthpiece cleanly with tired lips. he has yet to amaze me but it seems like he’s working hard so i respect that. hes also very lucky to be in a group with two supportive geges. like ps said, i think it is notable that ruiyang is doing so well in a genre of music he wasnt previously into. and yingge’s personality must be some kind of strong to really influence the other 2 so much

actually tbh totally makes sense to me why xiao zhi, rainbow, and yingge’s groups are the top 3 in that order, like their stages were really good and memorable.

ouch qiang ge feeling all the guilt and like he doesn’t have the skills to do better :( why is the show ok with jym acting this way? why is there a lack of communication that leads him to not understand what’s going on with the votes? they chase after him, he’s moping, they just film him and are barely encouraging enough to get him to come back at the very last minute. im sure he’s very frustrated but its also unprofessional and disrespectful of him to leave like that. how does that make his group mates feel that hes just gone? this is all very questionable to me.

wait i havent been keeping up with their current rankings but wtf the kids who are like super worried are like ranked super high??? like im assuming they’ll be fine?? like jym and hyt’s group members are all relatively high... (I realize now why hyt got so much screentime LOL hes #1....) im surprised tyler is so low and i wonder if he’ll get more popular after this ep lol

anyyywayyy so it looks like they’re having a party and elims next week so im sure thatll be an emotional roller coaster... and snzm is having elims next week too so thats just great... double the disaster
