Toji is like... super down bad in this one btw

One and a Half Men □○

Toji swore off of dating the day he became a single father. Never again, he told himself. He was too busy. Too preoccupied. Too grown to be playing a twenty-something year old's game. It was evident by his whisps of gray hair, earned over the three and a half challenging years of fatherhood.

When Megumi was first born, Toji found him and his bundle of joy a nice enough apartment, conveniently next to an uninhabited one so Megumi's cries wouldn't wake up any neighbors. Toji kept his head down and focused on what he needed to do. He worked, he took care of his baby boy, and he just kept moving forward.

And he kept good on his promise... very good. Until you showed up.

"Oh, good morning Megumi! Hi Mr. Toji, how are you guys doing today?"

There you were. A beautiful, shining sweetheart, kind and angelic down to your very core. A college student, roughly twenty years old, full of life and hope and love. And the Fushiguro's neighbor of six months.

"I told ya' a million times doll, don't call me Mr. Anything. Makes me feel older than I already am." Toji can't help the way his heart pulses in his chest everytime you flash that bright smile his way. He wishes he could.

"Okay, Mr. Toji." You giggle him off, shrugging away his gruff tone as Megumi let's go of his dad's finger and starts waddling over to you, the smallest smile parting his chubby cheeks.

"Hi y~y/n. M'mmorning. I have new shirt." Megumi makes his way over to you, grabbing your hand with one of his while the other stretches the fabric of his yellow and blue t-shirt towards you, showing it off.

"Oh wow! I see! You look very dapper this morning, Megumi!" Toji watches as you crouch down in front of Megumi, absent-mindedly patting down the raven strands of hair protruding out of the little boys' scalp

Hm, Toji thinks, watching as you blabber back and forth with the little man, smile widening more and more with every word Megumi stumbles out.

A buzzing notification from his phone distracts him from the heartwarming scene. Fuck, graveyard shift tonight.

"Well, I'm very glad you like it, you look suuuuper handsome, just like your daddy." Toji's ears perk up when he hears that. He let's a smirk slip when he realizes you're already looking at him, holding little Gumi's hand.

Hearing Megumi's quiet giggles reminds him of his current conundrum. He doesn't have anyone to look after Megumi tonight.

"Um hey, y/n, are you busy tonight?" Toji scratches the back of his neck, keeping a cool composure as his heart picks up speed.

"No, I don't think so! Why?" You stand up, caressing Megumi's head when he clings to your legs.

"I don't like asking for favors, but could you watch Megumi tonight? I'll pay ya." Toji ignores Megumi's excited squeal at the mention of spending the night at your place, knowing at this rate, he would probably have the same reaction.

"Oh my god, I'd love to! You really don't have to pay me, it would be my pleasure. He's such a little gentleman." Almost as excited as Megumi, you agree, softly squeezing the toddler's tiny shoulders.

You say your goodbyes, explaining how you need to run to the store and that Toji can drop Megumi off whenever.

As you wave goodbye, Megumi turns back to his daddy, huge smile overtaking his dumpling face.

"Yay, tank you dada! I wuv y/n, so nice and pretty." Toji has never seen his little boy so excited.

"Yeah, me too, little guy." Toji mused, walking down the apartment building's hallway, distracted by confirming his shift with his boss.

"Dada wove y/n too?" Megumi mumbles to himself, looking up at his dad with bright, hopeful eyes.

"Uhm, huh? Uh she's a very nice young lady, Megs." Realizing what he said, he backtracks, distracting Megumi with under chin tickles.

"Okay Dada." Megumi giggles, scrunching his chin to his chest, trying to stop the tingles infecting his little body.

Megumi was quick to warm up to you when you first moved in. It was just something about you. Maybe it was the same thing that had Toji head over heels the moment he first talked to you.

You were so refreshing to be around. Both Toji and Megumi were so used to only having each other. A young, smiling, motherly woman was such a fulfilling person to have around. Like a missing piece. Your presence was magnetic to the small family, both of them adoring you, only in different ways.

Everything about you was so beautiful. It almost made Toji nervous...

"Dada... knock knock." Megumi pulls Toji's hand towards your door, reminding him of the task at hand.

"You got it bud." Toji picks Megumi up under his armpits, letting him do the knocking.

Immediately, the door swings open, revealing a smiling you, clad in a flimsy tank top and baggy sweatpants.

"Megumi!!" You exclaim, laughing as the little boy grabs your neck and transfers himself into your arms.

"Yayyayayay, y/n!" Megumi squeezes you before turning to his dad.

"Bye bye, dada. Night night." Megumi immediately waves to his dad, almost kicking him out.

"Hold on, little man. Let me talk to y/n for a minute." Toji huffed a laugh as you smiled, moving to the side to let him in.

Toji declined coming in, explaining that he didn't want to intrude. He began explaining that Megumi was due for sleep, saying how it's already way past his bedtime. You point to your room, assuring him that Megumi would be sleeping like a king and that you were drowning in school work, too much to worry about sleeping on the couch.

Toji nodded along, beginning to tune your melodic voice out as he observed the way a sleepy Megumi snuggled into your neck, and the way your hand cradled his head, carding through his messy hair.

"Okay, well, I don't want to keep you too long, Toji! Megumi is safe and sound, and will be asleep verrryyy soon." You tease the little boy, knowing that he's already fighting sleep, dozing off on your shoulder.

Toji smiled when he didn't hear an honorific before his name. Your body froze up as he moved unbelievably close to you, face rubbing against yours as he cups the back of Megumi's head, kissing him goodnight.

"Thanks again, text me if you need anything. Be a good boy Gumi, love ya." Toji waves goodbye as you close the door, turning in your place to take a deep breath, feeling your heated cheeks with the back of your hand, pulling yourself together. What a man.

Your fan-girling subsides when you feel a yawn against your neck, reminding you of the exhausted little boy in your arms.

"Let's get you to bed, buddy. We can have fun in the morning, okay?" You feel a mumble on your skin as you walk to your room, taking in the little boys matching pajamas, little toes covered with fluffy socks. Your heart melts in your chest. How cute.

"Alright, there we go. All set, bud?" You smile down at Megumi tucked in your pink bedding, little head resting on your memory foam pillow.

"Back rub, please?" Megumi pleads, instinctively rubbing his scalp with flat hands. That's where the messy hair comes from.

"Okay, bud." You soften your voice as the boy rolls around in your bed, laying on his chubby little tummy.

He hums happily when he feels the weight of your hand on his back, making grabby hands at your unoccupied one, asking to hold it.

"Dada woves you. He said so to me." Megumi smiles softly, squeezing you hand.

"Oh! Um... oh! He said that?" A wave of shock and flush runs through your body, chest and face heating up.

"Mhm. He thinks you're pretty. I think he wants- marry you." Gumi goes rouge as sleep clouds his little mind, cutting into his own sentences.

"Allrrighhtt Megs... let's focus on bedtime, okay?" You giggle out, feeling like a schoolgirl after hearing the unreliable narrator's thoughts.

"Mmh, okay. Night night, Mama."

...

You didn't get a lick of sleep. How could you? Piles of work was banging at your brain, but the only thing you could think of was Toji and Megumi. Mama.

Pulling at your face, you snap out of your panicked thoughts when you hear a door open and the weight of a tiny body running to your couch. Looking up, your heart breaks in half.

"Y/nnn, bad dreammm. I had bad dream." Megumi sobs out, hands seeking comfort in his hair rubbing his head in agony. His face is puffy and red as tears run down his chubby cheeks, sniffing and crying.

"Oh Gumi, I'm sorry baby... here, come here honey." Climbing onto the couch, Megumi rushes into your arms, holding onto you like you would disappear. Sighing, you stand up with the little boy koala bear-ing you, pacing back and forth as you hush him.

Gazing at the time displayed on the oven, you see that it's already four in the morning. Megumi burrows himself into your body, getting as close as possible to you, seeking the maternal comfort your provide.

"M so sleepy. Don't wanna be by myself." Megumi eventually sighs after tiring himself out, fidgeting with the strap of your tank top.

"Let's sit down, okay bubs? Let's just take some deep breaths." You feel like a nervous wreck, hoping you're comforting Megumi well enough, not fully knowing what to do.

Sitting back down, you pat his back, resting your head on the back of the couch. The weight of Megumi's tired head on your chest grounds you. As you begin dozing off, you feel Megumi's grip on you relax, signaling his sleep.

Exhaling, you rest your arms around the resting lump, finally letting sleep overtake you.

...

Bright and early, you're awoken by the sounds of cabinets opening and closing. You freak out, thinking someone was ransacking your apartment before you open your eyes to see a little body wandering around your kitchen.

"Thirsty." Was the only explanation you get from the messy haired boy as he continued look for a glass.

Pouring him a glass of water, you place him on a chair in your small kitchen, starting his breakfast.

Megumi mumbles to himself as you prepare his scrambled eggs, keeping himself entertained. As you sit across from him, placing his plate in front of him, he smiles and thanks you quietly before digging in.

You drink your coffee, enjoying the peace and quiet provided by Megumi's preoccupied mind...

"Y/n?"

"Yes, Gumi?"

"Do you love dada?"

Megumi brings it up again. Great. Nosey little boy.

"Because I want a mommy. And you're good at it. I think you should be my mama."

"Hey, Gumi, what's your favorite dinosaur?" You blurt out, stopping the conversation as soon as possible.

The little boy glares at you, too smart to be tricked, but giving in anyway.

"T-rex."

...

"Dada! Y/n took good care of me!" Megumi sung the highest of praises when you opened the door to an exhausted Toji.

"I'm sure she did! I hope he didn't give you too much trouble." Toji teased, seeing the dark bags manifesting under your eyes.

"No, not at all, he's a very good boy." You smiled giving Megumi one last hug before he grabbed onto his dad's thumb.

"Thank you so much again, really it means the world to us." Toji reminded you, pulling a fifty out of his pocket, almost begging you to take it. You insisted on him keeping it, joking that the economy is too tough to be stealing his money. Saying their final goodbyes, Toji and Megumi left you alone with your thoughts.

Oh my god. Toji looked so good. His sweatshirt made his already huge frame look unbelievably broader, looking so protective as he held onto his little boy at your door.

You needed him. Bad. And it freaked the shit out of you.

Heyy soo ive read ur “Dad Optimus to Roddy’ AU” and i rylly love it its rylly wholesome and could you pls tell me some other stuff abt including like what happens later on when hot rod is raised by ultra magnus?

So I am going to assume the AU you're referring to is this fantasy au where OP is Roddy's dad? Because that's the only post I can find where I went in any sort of detail describing headcanons and such.

The other one I have is a more general fluff fic where Optimus is Roddy's dad and later adopts Bumblebee, which I wrote a fic for. That one is more inspired by musings with my friend @ultracreativelywritten and she wrote a bunch of fics in the same universe.

But if it's not that one then I will get back to elaborating on the headcanons in the first fic mentioned. Some details have changed about it whilst I was working on the story so now is probably a good time to go over them anyway. Here we go:

So in this au I made each successive Prime be the child of the last one (Rodimus is the son of Optimus, and Optimus is the son of Sentinel Prime).

As you can imagine, Sentinel is not a great dad.

Sentinel was never happy with OP marrying Elita cos she wasn't from a royal family. Despite lots of pressure Sentinel has never been able to convince OP to remarry.

Later OP carried Roddy so it's too late, there's nothing Sentinel can do now. Roddy is in line to take the throne once he comes of age.

So one major change is that when Roddy is born the Autobots and Decepticons are in a state of peace. It's a very tense peace, but still there is no war when Roddy is born.

It does however start up again when the Decepticons launch a completely unprovoked attack (or so Sentinel says) which is why OP is called to war and has to leave Roddy with Magnus.

Magnus does his best to parent Roddy, but he does struggle. Mostly because his teaching style doesn't quite match Roddy (Magnus learnt by sitting in total silence and reading as instructed, which suits so badly for Roddy's constant need to move).

Despite all this Magnus is still trying his best. He is just bad at expressing the more emotional side of parenting (probably doesn't help that in this au I made his dad Tyrest)

Roddy misses his dad immensely, and Magnus is struggling to fill that void.

And then Galvatron shows up.

That's right baby! This is the OG Galvadad au! I was working on this one before the version I posted up.

But basically when a bunch of Decepticons led by Galvs camp outside the forest Roddy sneaks out to meet them and Galvs gets impressed by Roddy's gumption, and eventually agrees to train him as a Decepticon.

Magnus notices that Roddy is more engaged during history class (though mostly he's been correcting Magnus and saying the history is too biased towards the Autobots, and Magnus has no idea where he got that from.

Things basically start to escalate as Roddy keeps sneaking out more to hang out with Galvs and his crew.

in a past life, dad is still a top tier hardboiled detective who doesn't gotta think about the fact he has a wife and kid at home

in this one, mom is inconveniently out of the picture for......... [vague gestures] reasons and he has to hunker down into single father life fast. ends up opening a restaurant in order to be able to provide

but in spite of all of this his childhood isn't so bad! he and his dad are close despite obvious stark differences in personality, which can be summed up as naive softie vs cynical hardass. even if sejoon's too trusting ways has dad up at night wondering how the hell is this kid gonna survive on his own

also dad: [does the absolute most to keep him shielded and sheltered cause he's Seen Things and as a parent's bare minimum that means letting a kid being a kid. which means shoving things deep under a rug and the default response to any inkling of curiosity being "Don't worry about it"]

until sejoon's anomaly kicks in at 12-13 by making a patron's chair float on accident and his dad's like k. better late than never......

its a little (ok a lot) hard to coach sejoon through controlling his abilities considering dad's own anomaly is not anything remotely close to moving things w his mind (its memory manipulation btw for some hwang fam #trivia) and sejoon is like ): but this is so cool why shouldnt i wanna show it off......

their deeply anti-anomaly district with equally staunchly anti-anomaly neighbors, friends, politicians being a VERY good reason not to: (:

doesnt stop the bubble bursting with when people realize ur not "human" they treat u different but ykw.........the sun is still shining and the world is much much bigger than their humble slice of daegu for EVERYONE to be that way

sua's open for admissions just around the time sejoon's thinking about higher ed AND broadening his horizons. gets in on arts scholarship and off he goes

baby bird leaving the nest turns fish out of the water. college and seoul are a bit of an adjustment but exciting all the same. and he does thrive! gets involved in the sporting rallies, really developing his artistic vision, has a social life, and gets to be his #true self among fellow anomalies the whole enchilada

things only really go downhill in the last 6 months of his undergrad with 2 wrecking balls: a devastating breakup and (TW: ILLNESS, DEATH) his dad being diagnosed by stage iv lung cancer

its right after graduation that sejoon immediately falls off the face of the earth for 3 years to be his father's sole caretaker until his death (END OF TW) no one i mean no one knows what he was doing or where he is

but hes back now to do his mfa!! let the bella loca where the hell have u been-isms begin

vibe wise hes bright, social, easy to talk to but can also be kind of spacey eccentric and the ultimate pacifist. the type that makes u feel like u guys are sooo close but then when u reflect ur like actually idk if i really know much about him at all (which!! is not totally intentional he just makes for a better listener and is great at making conversation about what YOU have to say). these days that same can do energy is there but it doesnt feel the same if u look too close but its fine!!! everything is fine

plots that are marginally better than the first time around but not by much:

friends who were blindsided by him going mia without warning

friends who are gracious enough (or equally ??????? avoidant? weird even) to pick up where they left off like nothing happened in the first place

people who dont even know who he is so like none of the above for his sob story doesnt even really matter

this is really really limited to one (1) person but somebody who managed to run into him in the three years that he was laying low

will require extensive plotting but the ex......not necessarily endgame but i am in the mood for some bittersweet woulda shoulda coulda's, angst and answering the penultimate question of: why did we break up?

former teammates? i imagine he was part of house samjoko during undergrad

ur a stranger feeling nosy and ur ultimate mission is figuring out where hes been. he lets u speculate

u need someone to do ur graphics. can be contractual pro bono whatevah.......

im running out of steam here but i am open to it all please hmu

headcanons and musing on ms mama bear herself and carmy's various traumas below the cut. trying not to make my blog look as unwell as it has the past few weeks, however, very much still ill in the head over the shrimp man

me every time carmy mentions his mommy issues:

let me in!!! let me in u son of a bitch!! tell me about ur mom!!!

anyway. i digress. so the main clues we have in canon about the berzatto's siblings mom are, in vague order of appearance (aka my memory):

sugar telling carm in ep 1 that mom would love to see him after he mentions that no, he hasn't talked to her. it feels like sugar is on good enough terms with their mom while carmy is def not.

richie mentioning that he took care of their mom for months before carmy came after mikey died--carmy's mom is unstable for (gestures vaguely) any number of reasons

"she full psycho?" "she wasn't calm, but the food was great" --their mom had always been some level of unstable, but there's clearly a point at which she becomes unstable to the point that carmy considers it a distinct difference

"i mean, you blame the restaurant. you don't blame mom. you don't blame mikey." why is their mom before mikey?? carmy has such strong negative feelings about her that he puts her before mikey--someone whose fucking pills he just found in a drawer!

"it's bullshit" "sounds like mom" "i'm serious" "i'm serious" ?????? !!!!!! ???????? if nothing else "sounding like mom" is an insult but also ?????

"mom always added raisins!" interesting to me--mikey is the one who is presented as always cooking for the family, even when carm's talking about tina spending christmas at his mom's, it's mikey who was making the food. but sugar has clear and nostalgic memories that involve their mom's cooking--although, notably, it's decidedly in the past tense, even though their mom is still very much alive and present to sugar in canon, and this takes place years before canon

"this is a very special dish in my dysfunctional, nightmare of a household" --carmy doesn't seem to have any bad feelings or memories of mikey until after he starts freezing him out, and considering their dad was out of the picture around the time carmy was born/was very young, one presumes this nightmare and dysfunction has to be related to their mother

the other points that i think are interesting that just sort of relate to carmy's Issues (tm) are

a) the parentification of mikey and sugar berzatto--carmy so clearly leans on them and like went to them for support and guidance, and as always, TheAngelTattoosAreForMikeyAndSugarBreakdown.exe

b) carmy's disassociation when people are fighting/yelling at him if he's not feeling defensive or particularly fighty enough to yell back. the way Chef says such cutting and horrible things to carmy--you're not tough, it's all a show, you're a fraud, you should be dead--and carmy just has to blink and continue working. the way he stares in to the middle distance for like two entire fucking minutes while richie and cicero scream at each other. i mean, if there's one thing this boy can do it's disassociate. the kid can leave the country. he sends himself to the cornfield. goodbye carmen berzatto hello shoving trauma down into ur shoes and hoping there's No Future Consequences for This Action

anyway i've been thinking for weeks about what i think the deal could be between carmy and his mom and while this is truly just a headcanon i'm forming and i also have a habit of never being a correct when i make headcanons, but the idea i'm sort of rolling around with is like clearly their mom was unstable for enough of their childhood for their house to be a "dysfunctional nightmare" but is stable enough now for sugar to have a relationship with her and want carmy to have a relationship with her, too, so my thinking is maybe there is some severe mental illness that wasn't getting treated or cared for while they were kids, but maybe is now that they're adults, chiefly, while carmy isn't there to see it.

i think some kind of variation of bipolar works well here, maybe? it would help explain some of carmy's disassociation skills, if their mom could be verbally abusive when she was manic, and the parentification of sugar and mikey if during depressive episodes there was little functioning. if that's carmy's childhood and that's his impression of his mom, then of course he's not going to want to go home to see her. but if she gets treatment/medication/guidance later in their adulthood while carmy is globetrotting and getting verbally abused by other significant figures in his life, then sugar might have a relationship with her at that point and want carmy to "talk" to her and maybe reach some closure too, if that's what she was able to do. and carmy obviously doesn't believe in that becuase he's carmy in s1 of the bear and his relationship with his mom is probably approx #87 or #89 on Pressing Mental Health Issues to Address.

anyway this is very long and if any one reads it and has thoughts let me know. i just want to get into the head of this shrimp man and excavate his trauma for shrimp dumplings. i want to KNOW. let me IN. CARMEN!!!! let me IN!!!!

i was plotting with someone and threw out some ideas. i wanted to bring them here to see if anyone was interested. for this it'd be m/m and i'd like to play the bottom / sub and contains mainly dead dove related content. so check below for more & ideas. warning; dead dove content / ideas

if you're of the rp-finder type than, most of these were written with either a large age gap or cookie with the top being younger. they're quickly written and rough idea's but all contain some element of dub/non, monster (thinking tentacles) or haunted (ghost), i**cest or step, omegaverse and etc! But we can tweak them and add or take out as you'd like. or if they springboard some ideas of your own but i'm open to more.

the typical jock x nerd, my muse would be the jock and maybe the friend to your muse's older brother. he doesn't really bully him but might play pranks. ppl think he's straight but your muse maybe finds a lot of gay porn and black mails him

this one is based of off one i read and my muse is molested on the train but doesn't stop it and kinda enjoys it or is to scared to speak out. either way, your muse see's, records and uses it against him. it could be student x teacher or they live on the same street

this one, my muse is secretly an omega and is finding it and it's a very pro-alpha world. because of that my muse keeps to himself and comes off mean or is just really strict. your muse is an alpha and finds out he's an omega and takes him

this one would be incest and my muse raised your muse so your muse thinks of him as a father instead of an elder brother. my muse is alpha but acts like an omega in a sense of being motherly as well so your muse decides to bitch him and turn him into an omega

my muse moves into an apartment complex that's fairly empty and your muse family could own it or something. it's haunted or has monsters and it's really your muse and/or your muses controls them. one day, it's happening and he tries to your muse to help bc they've built up a good relationship but ur muse is in on it

this one is from a manga but with some tweaks, it could be a male dominated world or even alpha dominated world. so your muse even though young, is seen as the head of household. my muse starts to date your muses elder sister / mom and has ideas on my muse. he takes him and my muse doesn't want to be exposed but ends up loving it and trying to keep it secret. the mother/wife doesn't really pay attention that they spend so much time to together bc your muse tells her it's not a woman's place or something

same kind of plot as above my muse has a younger sister and starts dating your muse is who is considered a bad boy, he wants doesn't approve and your muse comes over one day to confront him and catches him watching gay porn has his way with him until my muse gives in and wants it

my muse nephew (your muse) has always talked about marrying him and my muse has always laughed and brushes it off but your muse comes to live with him and he takes the chance to have them

for this one our muses could it'd be incest and our muse's live out in the country or away from a lot of people at least. my muse had your muse young and is struggling to put food on the table and the farm doesn't make much money. your muse gets the idea to use his dad to make money via porn and etc. we could iron out the fine details but involves non-con, mind-break and etc

a world were underage sex and etc isn't considered taboo everywhere and is considered more liberal. your muse suggest to his dad/brother/caretaker they move to a knew town and my muse doesn't realize they'll moving to a more liberal one and when your muse starts to take advantage of mines, no one really cares and it's encouraged

i'm just saying btw if any muses out there need a dad figure i can offer you one david oh aka major zero

this man is peak dad content. he enjoys tea, will force your muse to watch rugby with him. man will tell you about how he 'doesnt trust daytime tv' and he will talk about what a car's engine sounds like (dont let ur muse get in a car with him, he'll be like 'hooo boy, this needs some work on it'. he watches james bond movies everytime they're on tv and if anybody objects, he gets grumpy. he also naps during them but WILL wake up the moment somebody tries to turn on something else.

he gives very good advice but does not listen to advice (including his own).

he makes a KILLER sunday roast dinner.

man doesn't really 'get' any modern day lingo but absolutely supports it because he's proud of you and the person that you've become (doesn't matter if ur muse is a serial killer, good for them).

major zero never had kids biologically because his sweetheart left him when he was a young man and he just couldn't quite move on romantically from that (?). he's a real old romantic. he believes you have to court a partner to get them and will give advice like 'BE A GENTLEMAN >:('

TLDR

backstory is ur usual ansan born, raised & still stuck here kinda deal. it's not all bad, because she did grow up on the nicer side of the airstrip, but it doesn't mean she's satisfied with this life. there's gotta be something more, something out there meant for her, right?

but she doesn't know what that something is, aimless in that sense. restless, with no reason for it. she's latched onto the idea that astra will be the place for her, the place with all the answers, so she's put her name in the lottery every year & dreams of it, her wes anderson new york fantasy

there's a disconnect between what she thinks of her ansan experience & the reality of it, her dissatisfaction colouring everything a shade darker than it really is. all things considered, she had a fairly calm childhood & a cushy job now, but it doesn't stop yewon from complaining about it! she's been in fairly close proximity to astra & that better life that she can't help but compare it to everything that she doesn't have, not noticing all the things she does

& her job! can we say astra / corpo sellout... yes we can! went from secretary straight out of high school & slogged her way to personal assistant for some fancy rich astran because the company promised that employees who perform well might get promoted to astra. she handles all their ansan business matters & kinda wants to d word from being on call 24/7 but she also gets to stay at their la mariposa apartment for housesitting / keeping purposes

she says she hates her boss & hopes they get eaten by karma... only after she gets to astra, pls. screw the astrans, until she gets to go !

jokes on her though, her boss gambled away some trivial assets on hand... which were all of their ansan businesses & her job... so she's got a new boss she's never met & yikes, he's in town! 😱

anyway she's fully willing to do anything for her boss even if it's shady because she's 1) just a dumb assistant & 2) really wants this promotion to work out! how far is she willing to go so she gets her dream of going to astra? we're gonna find out!

secret family backstory unlocked! daughter of an nightrunner known as an ansan legend for the damage he caused when he went cyberpsycho defending his crew ( insp by david from cyberpunk edgerunners! ), her dad's last job netted her & her mum enough eddies to live on the clean/good life… but she still lost her dad as a child & it's partly why she wants to get out of ansan & also why she looks down on that side of the city even though technically what she has is owed to it. yewon keeps it quiet, her dad known more for the chipware he had on than his name, & it's the only thing she doesn't complain about. super unlikely that muses would know this ic, but it does inform a lot of her actions!

misc fun facts: all her mods are vanity mods & a made up ver of google / chatgpt ... no protection u could beat her up! also has an ashley too doll ( black mirror inspo ) probably outdated / a relic of the times but she still bops to the songs hey yea whoa-ho!!

2. What was their earliest memory?

Playing with her dads cat, Peter, on their living room rug together, but she doesn't remember what they were doing.

4. What were their first words?

Dada and then papa within the same week probably. Both her dads are convinced she meant him when she first said dada, but it remains a mystery.

6. When were they fully potty trained?

ur gonna make me research.. probably 2, a seemingly appropriate age I think

8. How often did they throw temper tantrums? What were they usually about?

She wouldn't have them that often because she was an only child and got what she wanted most of the time... and when she wouldn't she;d get upset and cry real toddler baby tears until it was resolved.

10. How easy (or hard) was it to take care of them?

She was an easy baby, but the terrible twos hit hard. She had lots of fits about little toddler things (not being allowed to feed ducks, not getting her way, getting the purple cup instead of the pink one). But her dads were patient and knew it wouldnt last forever, they tried to practice gentle parenting and would calmly explain to her why she couldnt do something, although that hardly stopped her from the fits. So she was fairly easy to take care of until she had fits.

12. Were they a fussy eater?

Yes, which disappointed her chef dad for a bit, but then he just used it as inspiration to make recipes with hidden vegetables and stuff. She liked any form of carb or potato though, but unfortunately toddler issy couldnt and wasnt allowed to live off tater tots 😔

14. What kinds of toys did they like?

She liked stuffed animals and dolls and dress up, especially when her dads played with her

16. What kind of discipline were they subjected to? Was it lenient or strict?

During her early years (3-grade school aged), she would get put in time outs for as many minutes as she was old, but her dads would explain to her why she was in time out and make her apologize if it was needed, they would try not to yell at her because they didnt want her to be afraid of them, they wanted to form a healthy relationship and sometimes that meant having a short time out for doing something bad. Later on in her life when she could understand punishments her dads would sometimes take her phone away, or have natural consequences mostly

18. What was their favorite childhood memory? Their least favorite?

Favourite is when she met her little brother and her first trip to Hawaii to see her mom, all in one good memory. Her least favourite memory was when her fish died when she was 6 because she fed it 15 times in one day, she'll be a great mom

20. What was their relationship like with their parents? How different was it than currently?

She loved her dads, she couldn't ask for better ones to raise her. Growing up she'd secretly try to think of which one she liked more, but it would always end up being a tie, which I think is how it's supposed to be. Recently this past year she and her dads have been having some tension, just because she's seen Duncan (her bio dad) so many times, and they don't approve of him as a person. But she still always goes to them for help, and cries to them about Duncan.

22. Did they have any pets growing up?

Yesss, a cat named Peter that is still alive out of spite, and a fish for like one day and then never again

24. Did they have any caretakers besides their parents?

Sometimes she stayed with her chef dads parents, and also Gemma her bio mama for a few days here and there.

26. What was their first major loss?

Her fish dying, that was the first in her childhood that she remembers, but her grandpa also died when she was 5 and she went to Hawaii for the funeral but it was more seen as a happy family get together to her at 5

28. Did your muse have any nicknames as a child? If so, what were they? Did they give nicknames to others?

Her dads called her bunny or bun, and her grandma actually started calling her Issy which was shortened to Is, but that was more an older grade school nickname.

--Idk if it counts as a grovel because he didn't really do anything wrong besides being incapable of saying I love you, but Derek Craven crying over Sara in the ruins of his empire and then being like SARA UR A GHOST I LOVE YOU SO MUCH PLEASE LOVE ME FOREVER FROM THE GRAVE when she shows back up (alive) is pretty great in Dreaming of You by Lisa Kleypas

--Untamed by Elizabeth Lowell features a pretty fabulous one where the hero is a total dick to the heroine (when they get married there are rumors that she fucked her childhood friend before she married him and he's basically super jealous and acts like he doesn't love her, it's medieval times) and when the heroine gets kidnapped by his enemies they're all "we shall ask for the biggest ransom" and she's like lmao good luck because he doesn't love me and then he's told that she said he wouldn't care because he doesn't love her and he's like SHE SAID WHAT??????? and then goes on perhaps the most deranged heroic speech I have ever read where he's all "if she isn't brought back to me alive AND LAUGHING I will bURN THEIR HOUSES AND PILLAGE THEIR LANDS AND KILL THEIR WOMEN AND CHILDREN AND CONDEMN THEIR UNSHRIVEN SOULS TO THE BOWELS OF HELL" and then when he gets her he's basically a blubbering mess like BABY I DIDN'T MEAN IT so it's just like. A massive grovel for the last 15% of the book. To be honest, all the books in her medieval series have pretty intense grovels (because the heroes are shitty men and yet we love 'em) but this is the most.... extreme.

--When the Duke Was Wicked by Lorraine Heath has a good grovel. The hero and heroine fuck it out finally and then he's like so I'm still incapable of love but I love you like a friend and we've gotta get married because your family is like family to me and I'm gonna ask your dad for your hand in marriage and she's like um no I will not accept your half-assed proposal and he's like ??? and runs to her dad and her dad goes "lmao I can read between the lines but fuck off" and then there's like, a kidnapping, and a lot of apologies, and body worship, and it's good.

Stacy Reid LOOOOOVES a grovel. Every book in her Wedded by Scandal series has a massive grovel and it's MAGIC. You have:

--a "I had a bad reaction to our oops baby and my wife left me so I furnished a lavish nursery in every single one of our 57 estates" grovel

--a "I was a douchebag and my wife left me so I dedicated my secret art to her and made it clear that she's my muse and publicly begged her to come back before the whole world" grovel

--a "I didn't step up and ask my best friend to marry me after taking her tender virginity and now everyone knows and she's ruined and she's refusing to talk to me so I'm just gonna throw a SURPRISE WEDDING and open my previously secret life up to the public" grovel

She also has the rare GIRL grovel in another book, which was interesting and I liked it.

--Any Duchess Will Do by Tessa Dare actually has the hero and heroine spend some time apart before he comes back to grovel for her, which I appreciated because it communicates how much he means it

--How to Steal A Scoundrel's Heart by Vivienne Lorret has a GROVEL WITH PUPPY.

--The Bride Goes Rogue by Joanna Shupe has the grovel where he leaves gifts at her doorstep for like, days. Handmade, sometimes home-cooked gifts.

--The Day of the Duchess by Sarah MacLean is a book-long grovel wherein the hero is trying to get his wife back after he cheated on her years ago.
