Jewel didn’t want to answer this question.

One would think the crown of her respect would go to her own captain, but that was not the case. Jewel had seen how proper militaries functioned, and the Eleventh didn’t fit one in her eyes. It lacked structure. That, and the transition of captaincy was barbaric.

Jewel could only imagine the faces of others if she spoke her thoughts aloud on that.

‘Like you could do any better.’

‘Oh, you think you’re better than Zaraki? Don’t make me laugh.’

‘You don’t even wield a melee weapon! You’re a joke. Go somewhere else if you don’t think you can handle the Eleventh, woman.’

A headache waiting to happen.

As much as she disagreed with the current structure, Jewel knew she didn’t belong anywhere else. No other division would tolerate her violence and lack of control the way the Eleventh welcomed it.

Her division had high morale at least; she’d give them that.

“I think the most respect… would go ta Cap’n Unohana, if I had ta choose. Healers are undoubtedly a cornerstone in the Gotei, and especially fer the Eleventh division. Without the Fourth, my division would be a ship run by a skeleton crew.”

“The Fourth may not have as much in way of brute strength like my people do,” she continued, “but they’re what keep us goin’ out there on the front lines when we’re beaten down-- when any Shinigami’s down fer the count. Every division needs them. So, I’m thankful fer Unohana’s guidance that the Fourth runs as well as it does.”

“As fer who I respect the least?” Jewel chewed at her chapped lip in thought. “… Mmh, probably Shunsui. I don’t know him much, but I do know the sleepy fucker spends his time daydreamin’ and lookin’ at ladies. He’s too lax! It’s a good thing his Lieut’s around to make sure things are kept in order, otherwise it’d be a mess, I’d imagine.”

[ 📚 ] what books does your muse have on their bookshelf? what books would they like to have? if your muse isn’t an avid reader, is there anything they collect or might like to collect?

While Grimm has a lot less time for hobbies unrelated to his main professions, he does like to read! His favored genres are cultural myths, along with fictional mysteries, adventure, suspense, and romance. Though, he tends to have his troupe pick up copies of whatever they can get their hands on that has historical significance for their collection in the interest of preserving culture.

I'd say fantasy, too, but Hollow Knight just is a fantasy setting, so I guess that's just regular fiction, haha.

When he first arrived in the mortal plane, Grimm voraciously read a lot of fiction and past tales about mortal bugs in general. It was the most reliable way he had to "study" their behavior and learn how they feel and the best ways of interacting with them.

While Jewel has a handgun, it's not her go-to. She's a blades and knives kind of fighter for this AU because it forces her to get up close and personal and desensitize herself.

She keeps her hair long but for the Big Bad fight she'll braid most of it back, twist it up into a bun, and secure it with fishing line and netting.

adding onto anon's ask, what social media/platform is the best place to post your comics? Do you find Tumblr to be the best?

hmmm I'm not the most social media savvy person tbh so I dunno where has the most exposure, if that's what you're going for 😅

For me I would try to post where the format goes the best with your layout so it's the most convenient for readers. For instance if you look at a lot of shencomix stuff, he's got a lot of square paneling that works well for Instagram. I abandoned insta cuz I don't do square comics most of the time and it will cut off my pages.

I personally like to scroll and read, so I post my page-by-page comics one after the other so you don't have to click on it to zoom in and read. Even though sometimes that looks a lil weird too, since they're best left to right.

Scrolling-style comics are best on smth like webtoons which his built for that. There's no "seam" and it doesn't show a lower quality preview like tumblr does if your file is huge.

I chose tumblr cuz it's kind of my compromise between wanting to do a lot of different layouts. Also I grew up on this site in my fandom/rp days haha

It still makes me sad when I try to do 3 panels in a row and they end up looking tiny 😔
