UNORCADOX

howdy, i'm mabel! it's the 3 year anniversary of unorcadox today, so i've prepared a decent bit of surprises. (and yes that means i started this blog in 2020, which is terrifying to think about.) i'll go into those new things under the cut, but first... check out the carrd linked in the header text of this post :3c

sooo soo so so so where on earth do i begin. uhh honestly let me just break down the new stuff first since i can talk about that more easily.

THE NEW LOOK! ok so like truth be told, i've been a faceless blog on purpose up until now. it wasn't until this summer where i actually liked how i looked or had any solid sense of my own aesthetic or what i wanted to look like. it also made it easier to protect against dysphoria and transphobes in the same breath, as no one could ever comment on any aspect of my appearance, or even the mere suggestion i even had one to begin with! but that all changes now, i'm going to actually have a presence on this blog, as it is MY blog and tbh i'm tired of being so faceless on here. that's why i've been doing more asks and non-edit posts recently, and those will increase in frequency. check out the carrd for more info, my sona's ref, and art credits for assets on here <3

mondays -> MUSIC MONDAYS! so it might come as a shock i'm actually a musician in addition to making stuff on here! i've promoted my music a couple of times by now, but nothing all that substantial. sooo, considering that, i'm going to be replacing monday oc posts with a music post! just a link to a song on my bandcamp and a little description about it. i don't really care if these perform particularly well, but i want to give people a chance to actually hear it without having to deep dive through my entire internet history to get it. i also will be releasing more soon-- whether via compilations of older work or new stuff altogether :3

MORE IN THE FUTURE! i have a couple other ideas up my sleeve, we'll see how they pan out but i wanna keep trying new possibilities on here. i think at this point i've proven my consistency, and it's about time i let myself have a little fun and explore my options. these will be announced individually but probably added here over time as this is the new pinned post lol.

ok so anyways, i do wanna have the mandatory sappy segment because of course i do. i want to say a couple of things but i'll split them into bullet points again bc yeah i do that.

this year has been really good for me and the blog, in most ways it's been the straight up best year of my life uncontested. not everything has gone perfectly, i had other plans that fell through, but hey that's just how life goes huh. at one point, i was easily projected to hit 20k by the end of the year, and now i'll be happy if i hit 17k lol. tumblr has not been that kind to my blog's growth this year and it's making me consider other options in the future, but everything's so scary rn i don't wanna commit to anything.

as for the blog itself, i've kinda been in a weird spot with it for a while. i've been scraping by on here intermittently for the entire year on and off, and i might have some ways to help keep me on top of the ball during the next year, but i also do wonder how long i can really keep doing this, and how long people will still like weirdcore and my work in particular. i've been considering branching out in terms of my presentation, or format, or style, but i feel incredibly weird about doing so.

in my personal life, this is the year i finally started transitioning and seeking treatment for my most pressing issues. i've finally started dating the love of my life, my best friend of 10 years, and despite some interpersonal turmoil all around me, i think i'm finally finding safe ground and knowing what i wanna do next. i don't really talk about it on here because i'm very private about it, but i've been kinda slowly becoming like a Real Adult Person this year. i didn't really have much of a chance to prior and i still am struggling a lot, but hey i know what i want now!

it's really silly to say but this blog still means a lot to me! it's seen me through the craziest times in my entire life, it's brought me so much perspective and knowledge and opportunities i wouldn't've had otherwise. i wake up every day and go on here and never stop feeling starstruck that people chose to follow me. i know tumblr success means nothing but to me it's the only community i've ever actually belonged to, so thank you all.

ok so like i really just don't have much else to say anymore, so i think i'll end it there! thank you all again, i can't wait for year 4 as it's going to definitely be a crazy one lol. let's hope it's a good one too!

I see this place and plan to use it as a proper personal blog, and as such, the thoughts I need to let out and lesser-quality works can also have a place here.

I won't put more personal details here for now, as I am a very reserved person. If I change my mind a bit, I'll edit this pinned post and/or make a Carrd for them.

Ok so in order to start off pride month (and since it has been a while) let's re showcase all of my queer head cannons, with a (jokey) edit at the end.

Do be aware it is mostly copied off of my last post cause I am lazy, just there is going to be some changes.

The plain churros(Aka the cishet ones):

Scott(he/him): in this head cannon, Scott had to come out as straight because Virgil had came out, and his parents suspected the others, so they just looked at Scott and went 'You must be teaching them this,'(in a supportive way ofc)while Scott was just like 'wtf'

Parker(he/him): honestly his job keeping lady penelope safe stops him from dating, but if he wasn't, he would like to think he would have a wife

Grandma Tracy(She/her): writing this, I realised that I made the oldest 3 members of iR straight, and I promise that was a accident 😅😅😅

The cis fruit loops (Aka the cis non hetro ones):

Virgil[gay{mlm}] (he/him): as you said, flannel, cuffed jeans, docs, and rolled up sleeves. 'Nuff said. Also, because he dresses like a homophobic straight man, 1. He sewed the gay flag (the mlm one) onto the shoulders of his flannel so people know that he isn't homophobic and 2. At Tracy industry stuff, girls are always flirting with him, and he just has to look at Scott while Scott tries not to laugh

John{Aro Ace}(he/him): I just looked at him and went, yea, no he's aro ace.

Brians{demisexual and demiromatic}(he/him): he just, gives off this energy, if you know what I mean

Lady penelope{bisexual}(she/her): a member of the britsh monarchy being LGBTQ+ just seems right, so here's lady Penelope.

The Trans fruit loops (aka the non cis gender and non hetro people):

Gordon{Pansexual/genderqueer}(all pronouns): I feel like Gordon would just be like "so I date pretty people, and I am a pretty person". Yea she's as brain dead as me.

Kayo{lesbian/demi-girl}(she/they): we both thought this, so need I say more. Also, she gives off mean-when-you-first-meet-them-energy-but-once-she-gets-to-know-you-they-are-actually-really-nice energy

Alan{Achillian[Aro-Ace spectrum]/transmasc enby}(he/they/moon/star/sun): I've got a timeline Alan of the cis-to-trans pipeline that you will probably find out somehow, who am I to judge how you find out.

hiii so!!! i've been super inactive here, so here's a little long post explaining my absence:

A) i haven't been using my laptop a lot recently. due to just Life In General it's a lot easier for me to just use my phone for most things, n then use my laptop for coursework and video games. i don't have the same editing software on my phone so, whilst i still make icons there, they look quite different to my usual ones, and i worry abt the difference in visuals throwing any of you off or disappointing you.

B) as i may have mentioned in my carrd or an earlier post (idr lol), i have hypermobile ehlers-danlos syndrome. i was diagnosed when i was 4 and have known abt my disability my whole life. that being said, sometimes i still can't anticipate how or when things will effect me - the way i made icons on my laptop started causing my fingers to subluxate a lot more often than they used to, and so it took me a lot longer to get through requests and, by the time an icon set was finished, i was too tired to post it. if i do continue taking requests on this blog, i'll probably have to change the way i make my icons - and, again, i worry about disappointing people by doing so, but it just isn't sustainable.

C) i do have a bunch of requests (from months ago now - sorry for the wait) in my drafts that are waiting for image descriptions etc. my only real excuse for not posting these yet is that i find it difficult to focus on things sometimes, and therefore just sort of... leave them for later. and then either forget, or end up getting really busy and just not having the time or spoons.

all this to say - it's been a really long time since i last posted anything properly on this blog, and it may still be a while until i get around to answering your requests. some combination of perfectionism and internalised ableism made me nervous to admit that i may have to change the way i make them for this to work out - it felt ridiculous to admit something so simple was difficult for me, but it is, and that's not ridiculous at all.

i still make my own non-request icons for fun all the time (i don't have the same worries about disappointing people, and so i make more simple icons for my own use) and may start posting a few to ease back into it - my birthday is in 2 days, and i found an EDS pride flag that i really like, so i'm tempted to post some self-indulgent projection icons

anyway! sorry for the long explanation. if you don't wanna stick around, i totally get it, but if you do, then thank you for your patience :] happy belated holidays!

Verse Information - Sunset City.

So I added a verse on my carrd for my Discord server, primarily because those muses now have some common ground through there that's easier to fall back on than to completely redo their meetings and dynamics from scratch here. It's by no means the "main" canon for this blog, but here's a post explaining it anyway for anyone who cares enough to know.

Basically, the premise is that every muse in the server gets mysteriously added to a group chat that then gives them access to a hub world called bargain bin Twilight Town Sunset City. From there, they can access the worlds of all the other associated muses. Sunset City is a dreamlike city ( literally ) that gets reshaped based on the minds of those that access it. But lately, the muses have been trying to get to the bottom of what this place really is...

A lot of the major canon divergences apply to the KH muses, and they really just stem from the fact that there's a bit of a sense of linear progression in the server, so Sora was very much in step with my playthrough of the series, so when he died...I kind of had to improvise LMAO. I'll have to improvise again whenever we get more information on KH4, but for now, just consider this a completely alternate timeline to the main canon where he disappears to Quadratum. Some fun things also change for Roxas but not to nearly the same extent as Sora.

Edit: And then the same thing happened to me while writing Noctis. I was writing him in step with my playthrough, then dude had to go and get prophecy'd on me and I had to figure out how to justify continuing to write him; same with my friend who writes Ardyn in the server. So those changes will also be detailed here.

List of all the major divergences below the cut. Where relevant, I'll indicate when a Discord-only muse or mun is being referenced.

Let's start with Roxas, since he's got fewer divergences to hammer out:

Basically, just so I could justify writing him while he was canonically inside Sora's heart and not really existing, he managed to exist in Sunset City during that time, due to Sora's heart manifesting him there and the nature of Sunset City as a dream world. He sort of experienced stuff in Sunset and stuff through Sora's heart as if he were in both places at once. His physical body also couldn't leave Sunset until he was able to link to Xion at the end of KH3.

And for Sora:

Sora's ship in this verse is with my friend's Riku who doesn't write on tumblr, so you'll probably see Soriku referenced in relation to this verse.

After the events of DDD, Sora got a therapy Munna from Emmet ( Discord-only mun ). Sora had trouble sleeping after his Mark of Mastery exam, on account of, y'know, the whole "I almost never woke up and had my body used to house part of Xehanort" thing. Also, nightmares. Lots of them. So since Dream Eaters can only really exist in sleeping worlds, and he can only summon his Meow Wow for short periods of time outside of there, Emmet arranged for Sora to have a therapy Munna. She's a shiny that the Breeders turned over to Emmet because they trusted him to put her into good hands and not just ask for a shiny for its own sake. In fact, he didn't even really ask for a shiny. The Breeders just were like, "oh, this guy's reputable, we can give the shiny to him." Sora named her Munny on account of her gold color, and because Munna sounds like Munny! Munny is bred to be a therapy Pokémon, not a battling Pokémon, so Sora doesn't actively battle with her, but she can help defend him in a pinch.

Jingle doesn't really exist in this verse...yet.

And here's the biggest one: Sora is not in Quadratum, and has not been yet. This divergence is entirely a result of me flying by the seat of my pants and trying to figure out how to continue to write him in the server after he fucking DIED — think "anime adapting an ongoing manga and running out of source material and having to improvise" type of beat. Basically, because of all the friends he made in the server, as well as all of his friends from canon, Sora's heart was able to hold on and wake up in Anti-Sunset, a parallel nightmare counterpart to the pleasant dream of Sunset. He began trying to make his way back to the surface, but was interrupted by a mysterious woman who splintered his heart into several fragments again. Several of the muses in the server formed a rescue party to try and find him. Each of the ten fragments of Sora's heart sensed the group and called out to each of its members, requiring them to help him overcome some of the pain in his heart in order to dispel the darkness that kept them caged and separate from each other. After these ten fragments were obtained, the group was able to safely return home with Sora.

Whenever we eventually get more information about KH4, and potentially a release date, I'll figure out an excuse to eeby deeby him back to Quadratum, but basically, if you see references to a rescue operation for Sora in threads set in this verse, that's what's going on.

Noctis suffered from the same problem as Sora, where I was writing in-game events happening to him as I experienced them, not knowing that was eventually going to result in him perma-dying. This also ended up writing the server's Ardyn into a corner. So here's what we came up with:

After learning his and Ardyn's fate from Bahamut in the Crystal, Noctis decided that — as angry and damaged as Ardyn made him feel, it just wasn't right to kill someone who was also a victim. So instead, he appealed to any humanity Ardyn might have had left in an effort to make a truce, and try to put off the inevitable long enough to look for another way. Incredibly, Ardyn agrees to the truce, and holds back the miasma enough for the group to resume their travels, now with Ardyn in tow, looking for a way to change their future for the better.

Because the prophecy hasn't been fulfilled yet, there are still daemons running about, and the party is doing their best to keep things under control. They basically have Ardyn on a big ol' child leash while he menaces them in less apocalyptic, more just plain old annoying ways.

The point in the Sunset timeline that I write these guys at on the blog jumps around a lot, it just kinda depends how I feel lmao.

Ok so I have this one OC that's been following me for almost two years now and I'm getting so sentimental over them right now because they've got me through some hard times and they helped me face the world, no matter how hard it's been. Their name is Berry and I just wanted to show you how they evolved through those two years.

This is my first ever drawing of them. They were heavily inspired by those "alt art tiktok compilation" that I used to draw when I wanted to get ideas for vent art. I remember being like "I'm gonna make an alt OC so that my friends will love me!", Honnestly those were awful friends so this was a bit of a stupid thought.

Around that time I decided that I wanted to add a little bit more white to their hair. This was kind of my animation meme phase so off they got the edgy sans fangirl eye because it was cool!!

The eye got covered by a pretty eye patch! And that was the start of their ear piercings as well. I really love this design and it kind of was the thing that made me realize how much I liked to draw them at that time.

This design doesn't change too much but I decided to add more pink (only to remove it later lol) this was around this time that I was considering becoming a Vtuber but I soon dropped the idea because of a lot of family issues that were going on at that time.

This design was there for a single drawing and I dislike it much but it was a good clothing practice because I wanted to diverge from always drawing hoodies a little bit.

I don't have much to say about this one besides the fact that I really liked this art style like damn they look so freaking badass!

This is one of the most recent drawings. I personally dislike it because it doesn't give me the vibe of the character much. They look sad but this character is always angry/emotionless so is just didn't fit.

This is my most recent drawings of them. Accidentally put the eve patch on the wrong eye..woops! I like this drawing lots and I think I did a good job at portraying them right.

I have their introduction here so I'll give them to you, it's a bit old though so I'll edit some modifications is when rewriting rn

"About Berry

Berry is ageless. They use they/them pronouns and are aroace. They're half reaper and half shapeshifter.

Berry is quite violent and easily gets angry with people. They're impulsive and not very smart so they can get really stupid ideas like taking over the world and cutting the tall people's legs so they can finally be tall. They work as a Reaper and use their knife as a weapon to reap souls.

Berry has an.....odd relationship with their knife to say the least. They call their knife a lover but no one is sure if it's a joke or if it's actually serious. They're friends with Kitty and Crywqii but really hate to admit that they enjoy the company of those two.

Berry doesn't have much free time but when they do have free time they like to go grab a slushie somewhere and watch a drama serie or a serial killer documentary. Some times they play on their Nintendo switch when they're really bored and don't have anything to watch.

(Berry is 138cm tall but they're salty about it so they weak 10cm plateformes at all time to be 148cm)"

I took this from my old OC carrd that I don't use anymore because I broke it and was too angry to look back at it ever again lololol

Tiny fun fact: they accidentally because a me x the grim reaper ship child at do so point?? Lmao I really don't know what happened there, it dates back to my cringy undertale phase with my old toxic friend group that I finally got tired of after the third picture of a dead body that I saw. Damn.

Oooo I really like their evolution!! Their designs so cool + it’s also so cool to see how your art style has changed in the course of their evolution. That’s one of the things I love the most about OCs. They just, change and become better with you if that makes sense lol

tumblr etiquette 101

a list that is nowhere near exhaustive, from yours truly.

First off, welcome! Whether you’re a twitter veteran looking for anything but whatever twitter is, or a new user just done signing up, glad to see you in our ranks beloveds! Welcome home. Refer to this quick tour to make sure your fandom experience (or tumblr experience in general) is a positive one!

Disclaimer: I know it’s long, but please try to read or skim through til the end if you’re new here! This is by no means meant to be a rule book (for the most part lol), only a guide to help you get settled easier!

1) Your blog

This is where people will see and interact with you, so put some effort into it!

Try to choose a name (url) that’s simple. You can see it as your brand, it’s how people will perceive you and remember you. If you’d like to interact with other users here (and not use the site just for the content) it’s better to have something short and sweet, preferably without spaces. (Of course, these are only suggestions.) Rest assured, you can change it literally any time you want.

Have a theme. Utilize the tool that lets you edit your blog’s color or the font of your bio! You can make it match your profile picture, or your blog if it has a theme of its own. Make it feel homey :]

Fill in your bio. People will be checking out your profile probably more often than you think. Don’t leave it empty! Put in any information you’re comfortable with sharing and isn’t too personal (like your age if you’re a minor, or other TMI that can be found on other people’s carrds). It’s always better to add a name/nickname people can use to refer to you by, but feel free to use your blog description to shitpost still.

You can have an intro post. More often than not, you’ll see a blog have a pinned post, a post permanently appearing at the top of a blog until you pin another post or unpin it. You can make one of those, if you’d like to introduce yourself in more length, link any other socials or a carrd, and show others visiting your blog how you tag things so it’ll be easy for them to navigate. Not an obligation.

Keep your anonymity and your safety. It should go without saying, but there’s no harm in repeating it just in case. Your comfort, privacy and safety has the utmost importance. Don’t share any information you don’t want to. Don’t share your age if you’re a minor, or any other incredibly personal info. I’d encourage you to go by a nickname that’s not your real name, (blog name, your brand, remember?) since there’s safety in anonymity, and that’s lowkey one of the big deals of tumblr, but that’s up to you still.

Choose what you want to be visible. Your liked posts and who you follow are all things you can set to keep to yourself and hide from the publics eye, how handy! You should go through all the setting while you’re at it, set it to your comfort.

Side blogs are a thing. You can have multiple blogs that you can use for different things (see: different fandoms, art blog, etc) to keep them organized or away from your followers. Just remember that the replies and off-anon asks you send will be from your main blog, as well as where you follow other blogs from.

2) Interacting with others

You’ve set up your account, now comes the fun part!

Follow to your heart’s desire. If you care about others seeing who you follow, fear not! In tumblr, usually only two types of blogs keep their following visible to others: newbies, and big blogs using it to point people on other good blogs’ direction. Just turn it off, and go ham following people.

Customize your dashboard. Gonna mention just two things here: this is another reason why it’s really important that you follow blogs without sparing, your dash will collect dust otherwise; and you should turn off “best stuff first” in your dashboard settings, to have a better community here and all.

Follow tags. You can set it in your settings that posts with your followed tags appear on your dashboard.

You can check the og post for edits and context. When you see a reblogged post you don’t understand the context of (or don’t recognize the character in case of fanarts), click on the profile so it will take you to the original post. From there you can check the original poster’s tags to get the context, or see if there have been any edits made to the post, since when you edit a post it doesn’t update any past reblogs.

Send people asks... This is how you make mutuals, people! Do it off-anon if you’d like them to know your blog, or anon if you’d rather not! (You can still end your messages with a signature to show you’re the same person, -[name] is one example.) Send them nice messages, ask their opinion on something, discuss things, or just straight up shitpost lol. Go wild. The sky’s your limit and it’s definitely more than 280 characters.

...and let them ask you! You can set your preference in the settings, do it on desktop tumblr to access more settings tho! What you can customize on mobile is limited (like letting people ask you things anonymously, that’s only on desktop settings). In my personal opinion, it’s always better to tag their username (or a nickname you give them, if they’re a friend) on that post, since you wouldn’t want your interactions with your friends to get buried in your blog forever.

Comment on posts. If you have something to say but don’t want the post to appear on your blog you can add a comment. The owner of the post will get a notif for it, but for anyone else you need to tag them.

For the love of god, reblog. People will only see your liked posts if you have it visible to public and they specifically go on your blog to look at them. You like something? You reblog. It’s already hard for posts to circulate properly, if you don’t reblog them literally no one will see them. If not for anything do it for the artists. Just hold and drag on mobile to fast rb.

3) Your Posts

Finally here! Don’t be a lurker, post and engage!

Make use of “read more”. If your post is long, add it. That’s what you clicked on earlier to expand this post. On desktop leave an empty line and you’ll see three dots appear, and on mobile type :readmore: on that empty line.

Draft a post to come back to it later. Pretty self explanatory.

Queue your post. Whether it’s your own post or you’re reblogging, make use of the queue feature to a) not spam reblog and fill up the dashboard of people following you and b) keep your blog active while you’re gone. Mess around in the settings, it’s fairly easy to set up.

Schedule your post. Same as queueing, the only difference is you get to choose the exact time your post will go up. Handy if you want to schedule a post for certain dates like april fools, or 5 years in the future for some reason.

Format your texts. You can do all kinds of fancy stuff here (that’s a link, try pressing on it). Twitter doesn’t have this, make use of it. Changes depending on whether you’re on mobile or desktop. (Desktop has less features.)

Check your stats. If you’re trying to understand the algorithm better or want to look at some pretty graphs you can get your data on that on desktop tumblr.

@ people in comments. You’ll get all the notifs when people comment on your posts but they won’t see your reply unless you tag them in your message.

4) Tags, and tagging a post

This is where my earlier statement “this isn’t a rule book” stops being applicable. It’s not a war crime to go against these, I won’t come chasing you (don’t take my word for this) but you’ll work up a bad rep. Just saying lol.

Do NOT crosstag posts. It’s really tempting to add unrelated tags to increase your posts’ interaction, I know, but that’s not what tumblr is about. Don’t be a dick and make other communities’ experience worse for them.

Always tag your posts with “crit/critical/discourse/etc” if it calls for it. There’s no exceptions to it. This is the reason you see people migrating to tumblr. Let people enjoy things.

Don’t main tag a critical/negative post. If your crit post is about “Thing”, you add the “Thing critical” tag, but not the “Thing” tag. People block crit tags if they don’t want to see it, don’t shove it in their faces by main tagging it.

If you don’t want to see something, just block it. Another reason why people are able to survive on tumblr. You don’t start discourse, you don’t make call-outs, you block. You can find something for every community you can think of if you go looking for it. The worst of the worst probably won’t ever appear on your dash, but if you’re worried or feel the need for it, you know where the block button is.

Feel free to shitpost or ramble. More often than not you’ll see people rb a post with a comment, and their elaboration will be in the tags. The tags are only visible on your profile and the notifications of the owner of the og blog. Just a thing people do.

Reblog artists’ posts with nice comments in the tags! Commenting on a drawing is usually done through the tags (Not an obligation, again, just a thing people do. Feel free to add your comment on the rb itself if you’d want other people to see it tho!) and leave nice messages for the artists! It’s a win-win for everyone involved.

If you have more than a single follower, always use the common tw warning tags. You don’t need to tw everything, but tw’ing some common things is the bare minimum human decency. Keep it safe for others.

Tag a post “long post” if it’s really long. Pretty self explanatory. Don’t make people scroll through all that please lol.

You can use them to organize your blog. This is more of a pro tip, if you’d like to not miss a post in your blog, cause they will start pilin’ up soon enough.

#Liveblogging is pretty fun. If you’d like to talk to people during streams, don’t forget to add the relevant tags still! Again, you won’t show up on people’s dash otherwise.

i miss seeing your posts. i hope you’re doing alright!

Putting this under a read more for convenience.

But yeah I'm fine. I was just looking through my general inbox on desktop, and when I saw this ask, I remembered I had posts for this blog sitting in my drafts. So thank you for sending this ask, it was a good reminder.

There’s a couple reasons I stopped being as active on this blog. The first being that I switched my focus to working on a different sideblog of mine, and thus I began loosing interest in the grimey purposely unpleasing aesthetic I had going on here, and began focusing on an entirely different one. That’s the sad thing about sideblogs dedicated to certain interests, people change and focus on other interests that come up in their lives. I don’t hate this type of aesthetic at all, it’s just not my main focus right now.

That being said, it’s been awhile and I’m a bit hesitant to fully come back. As one of the reasons I haven’t been super active lately is because I don’t like some of the environment that surrounds this aesthetic. For instance the way “weirdcore” and “liminal spaces” have become synonymous with “traumacore.” I don’t want people coming to this blog thinking that’s what it is. I’m not trying to scare people or trigger trauma or whatever. At the time, the photographs and art that were considered “weirdcore” simply fascinated me. But it also kinda unnerved me the amount right wing hate group type blogs seemed to be interacting with my posts, which I’m not used to, but I think that’s what happens when you run a blog where you mostly only post photos, and it was kinda scary cause on mobile I can’t block people on sideblogs, so I’d have to wait until I got on desktop to block them, which made it exhausting.

But the main reason is simply because I’ve been working on myself and my mental health. I made this blog because I wanted to draw settings similar to these photos. I remember really wanting to draw a cockroach sitting at a computer, or cockroaches sitting at a poker table. But I couldn’t because I just didn’t have the energy or focus or drive to work on improving my art skills. So this inspiration blog was somewhat pointless. But I’m finally getting treatment so I’ve been able to work on myself and my art skills as well. So thank you for checking in on me, it’s very kind, but I’m actually starting to do much better than when I started this blog, so I think my absence will be better for it in the long run.

I won’t be too active on here for awhile, but I of course will be keeping this blog up. And at some point I should also edit my carrd. Also wanna go back and tag my posts so I can organize them better. But I hope one day I can come back and post My Bug Art. As for now, I’m still working on my fundamentals. I’ll still be reblogging/posting images here and there every once in awhile, as my friends still send me posts/images they think would fit this blog. Feel free to @ me on any post you think I may enjoy. Again, thank you for checking in. It’s good to know that you enjoyed this blog so far, enough to send an ask like this. What you will need.

A song (or three). If you are into quotes go for that instead.

A few graphics (have to be - 2 mb in size).

A background image (can be a repeating one or one that stretches)

Shows you how to get what is above. It is simple but easy to edit and add more to it as I am showing you just a few of the steps in card ; add an image, add some text, add a link, and to add a control (section that can be clicked to from your link). If you need help just message me.

To start off with you are going to want a BLANK canvas. Nothing on it at all so you are going to go to what I have circled in black.

Click what is circled in BLUE and then you are going to want to click what is in black.

GET A BACKGROUND :

To edit the background by clicking what I have circled in blue.

So I went ahead and circled what you are going to change. (I had already changed it to image from the previous). Play around with the settings if you want to find what you want! If you don’t want a background image that is okay.

Click the plus (I circled it) and then go to image.

Upload the image that you want there.

Say you want the image SMALLER or BIGGER than what card gave out? Go ahead and click the paintbrush (circled in blue) and adjust the width. So all of this would be on your “home” page. It is the first thing you are going to see when you are in there! It is really cool and super helpful.

GET SOME TEXT :

So to add text to your beautiful “home page” you are going to go to the plus and hit the text word.

Add your text into the text box. To edit said text go to the paintbrush that is circled. You can adjust the font, the text size, and even the letter spacing.

My settings for this piece of text: (It won’t let me slowly like clip pieces one by one to show you each section sorry about that).

Now let’s moving on to adding our FIRST section and the place you click to get it. Shall we?

GET A LINK TO A CONTROL :

Go ahead and click the LINKS area.

Click that word and the drop down will show up. #intro is what I changed the url to. Anything with # will lead to something INSIDE of your card. If you add a normal link like a tumblr one? Then it will be brought straight to the link of tumblr. go ahead and edit the label.

Go ahead and click the paint brush again. Let me show you my settings that I have with a gif (sorry that this can’t be slower or just still caps).

Now to get that next page that we called “intro” shall we? Alright!

GET A CONTROL : ( a section to click to that went with the link you just made ).

Click what I have circled.

changed the name to intro.

Anything under the word intro will be now for that section! So you can add text, link, and image (all I’ve shown you above how to do).

Add more sections as you wish. Each section needs a clicky link with the # to get the link to move to the next page. Not sure if anyone remembers those stories that used to be back in the indie world where you would have to click a word to move to the next page? Think of it like that. Each link would bring you to a new section.

An explanation of recent events

Hi all. I am posting a timeline of the recent events that have ended up with me inviting some of the mods I trust from @advicetotraumasurvivors to this blog. It is incomplete; as of this posting (4pm CST, August 23, 2021), nobody has admitted any wrongdoing, but I know a lot of you aren't really sure what happened at all. I apologize in advance for the verb tense shift midway through. I unfortunately don't have the spoons to edit it.

Hayden does not plan to stay with the blog. Olive plans to stay at least for now. I will likely stay. I'm not sure about Henrie or Berry at the moment. Those are the only mods that currently have access to this blog. (Edit from Mod Henrie: I’ll be staying.)

The timeline will be under the cut as it is fairly long. All times are in Central Standard Time.

Around 5:30pm CST last night, April messaged the Discord telling us she was leaving the blog. She left both the Discord and the blog shortly thereafter. We got some anons asking about why she'd left and I directed those towards her @traumasurvivors blog because I didn't feel comfortable trying to speak for her, One of them felt my answers was dismissive. That anon ended up being a mod in the Discord who was triggered by my tone. We received more asks from them, one passive-aggressive and one outright guilt-trippy.

At 7:30pm CST Henrie made an announcement that everyone who participates in the blog is a volunteer. Several mods offered in the Discord to mediate since the mod who was upset didn't feel comfortable addressing the issue with me directly.

Around 9:00pm CST we started getting some positive messages to the blog. I started to think maybe the situation had blown over. I tried to answer one of the positive anons. Tumblr gave me an error code.

We discovered the upset mod had deleted all of our inbox messages.

At 9:30pm CST Berry noticed posts were disappearing from our blog. I had noticed some weren't showing up for me, but because Tumblr is a Hellsite I figured they were there and it was just a glitch. Even the pinned post got deleted.

I panicked and asked what if the Carrd got deleted. Unfortunately, whoever the mod was, saw that and changed the email and password to the Carrd.

At 9:36pm I started adding Henrie, Hayden, Berry, and Olive to this side blog. This ended up taking several hours because we were all disoriented and triggered pretty badly by then.

At 9:45 pm I noticed they deleted my mod tag. We kept trying to encourage them to stop. Henrie reblogged all the asks that were still there to their personal in case they got deleted.

At 9:55pm I left the server and asked Berry to invite me to the new one they said they'd make so the handful of us could discuss the situation while feeling a bit more safe. There's a gap of about 20 minutes in the timeline here but I'm not sure anything super important happened during it.

Olive rescues most of the info from the Carrd by 10:21pm. April offers to transcribe the pinned post that I managed to screenshot on my phone.

Hayden makes a post around this time saying we've moved URLs. The upset mod deletes it.

I ask April if she will write down the URLs of all of our followers on advicetotraumasurvivors and send asks to them one by one to let them know what's going on. An extremely inefficient method, but at this point I'm at a loss. Henrie starts sending the asks to our followers. April finishes transcribing the pinned post at about 10:30.

At this point I have taken my sleep med and am losing reading comprehension rapidly. I say I'm going to bed but end up not sleeping until something like 4am.

At 10:31 Olive discovers that the upset mod has password-protected the blog. Henrie copy pastes the only ask in the inbox. It came in after the others were deleted.

At 11pm Olive announces she has a download/export of the blog in progress to hopefully preserve some of the posts and information on it. I ask April to boost the new URL. Henrie asks Tumblr's customer service system about uploading the file to the new blog.

At 11:10 Berry notices the queue is being messed with. Several mods go back and forth with the saboteur mod changing how often the queue posts. I suggest that we reblog ask games to the new blog so people can get to know us better once this all dies down.

At 11:21 Hayden announces the blog title has been changed to DON'T TALK TO US. A few minutes later Olive says some extremely tasteless tags are being added to queued posts, including the r slur and the n word. We won't go to any more detail about any of the other things that were said because they were extremely triggering, but we are deeply sorry to any followers (and mods) that may have seen those tags.

11: 38pm: Henrie makes posts on both blogs saying it's not us typing these awful things and to block advicetotraumasurvivors.

11:40pm: We decide to delete all the posts on the blog and the whole queue. April starts mass deleting.

11:53pm: I screenshot all the asks in the drafts. We delete all the drafts. The upset mod continues to change the blog title to triggering and inflammatory things.

1am today (Monday): Henrie asks if it's okay to announce to the original server that we moved discords and blogs. I ask if we can avoid adding people to the new discord until we know who the mod is that's upset. We eventually agree to hold off on adding people into the new discord.

2:44am: April gets an anon apologizing for their poor/inflammatory actions on her traumasurvivors blog and posts a response separate from the ask. We wait, hoping that the anon will message April.

3am: We get a similar apology on the new blog. It gets screenshotted and sent the new Discord so everyone can see it. I delete the ask from the inbox with everyone's permission because it feels very guilt trippy to me.

3:23 April gets more anons blaming her for the situation spiraling out of control, presumably from the upset mod.

12:22pm: April has more anons when we all wake up. All of us in the new server agree that we're tired and just want the situation resolved. No one comes forward.

Edit from mod Henrie: This is a timeline of all of the “major events”, but it doesn’t convey how frantic we all were. We were all feverishly working on deleting triggering tags/deleting posts/trying to find out who was doing this/etc. in between each of these times. It was chaotic and messy and incredibly exhausting for everyone involved.

mcyt/dsmp tumblr guide!

I saw that a lot of people from Twitter are moving here to Tumblr. First of all, welcome! Second of all, I know how hard it is to get adjusted here so I made this guide for y’all to have an easier time!

Click on the read more because this is a really long post. If you know how to use Tumblr and only want info on the etiquette, here’s a post with only the etiquette.

Before I get into it, I’d like to say that Tumblr doesn’t get any personal information from you besides your email. Whatever you put out is what people see. It’s very anonymous, take advantage of it. We don’t dox people here at all.

Contents: Starting your blog, Interacting with others, Posting, Tagging & Tagging Etiquette, Other, Blogs I recommend

Starting your blog

-Pick a username for yourself. This will also be your blog’s URL. You can change your blog’s name as much as you’d like, so don’t worry too much about it. Just don’t use your real name because only the porn bots on here have “real” names. (Ignore/block them)

-Customise your blog’s appearance. When you go to your blog’s page, there is a painting palette icon on the top right. From there, you can edit the appearance of your blog. On Desktop, you can utilise themes to personalise your blog even more.

-Put something in your bio. You can meme and put anything you want. I recommend not making it too long, though. People usually put their names & pronouns. Remember, give out the information you want to give out.

-Pinning posts. You can pin a post and it’ll remain at the top of your blog until you either remove it, or pin something else. This is where you’d put an intro post if you’d like to tell more about yourself, link your socials/carrd or how you tag things on your blog.

-Customise what’s visible. By default, people can see your likes and follows. On Mobile, you can click on the likes/following tab and then click “change”. From there, you can disable people viewing them. On Desktop, you need to go to settings, click on your blog and then you can disable it. Hardly anyone but new users and big blogs show either of these so feel free to private them.

-How to disable the archive. On Desktop, every blog comes with an archive which can be used to look at all the posts a person’s made and sort by date. There’s no setting to disable it so if you want it removed, go to your blog and press the palette button. Click ‘Edit HTML’ and locate the line of code that says this or something similar: ‘{lang:Archive}’. After that, you want to insert a new line before that line and type ‘’. The line you located should turn gray. Update the preview and double check that everything looks fine before saving. To add the archive back, just delete the ‘’ you added.

-Asks and submissions. By default, no one can send you asks and submissions. You can toggle this by going to settings on both desktop (settings > blog) and mobile. Asks can either be anonymous or not (this is also toggleable) and people can use it to send questions, sh*tpost, have discussions, etc. while submissions are (to my knowledge) not anonymous but it’s basically like being able to send a person a whole post with links, tags, etc.

-Filter out tags for things you don’t want to see. On desktop, you just need to click on settings while on mobile it’s settings > general settings > filtering. Make sure to include [xyz] tw, tw [xyz], cw [xyz], [xyz] cw, [xyz], and [xyz] mention when filtering.

Interacting with others

-Customise your dashboard. When you start, your dashboard is very empty. Tumblr’s algorithm is almost nonexistent and you customise what you see. Follow blogs and tags as much as you like, because this is what is going to fill up your dashboard.

-Sending in asks. A lot of blogs have their asks open and you can send them on or off anon (if they enabled it). On Desktop, you can include photos, gifs, etc. This is one way to get mutuals. You can also sign off an anon ask with a nickname so that people know it’s the same person. Ex: -🥄 or -Party anon. If you’re not sure if a person already has a ___ anon, feel free to ask!

-Replying to posts. If someone didn’t disable replies, you can reply to their posts. You can use this if you want to say something about the post but don’t want it to appear on your blog. Make sure to @ the person you’re replying to if it wasn’t their post, otherwise they won’t see that you replied to them.

-Reblog posts. As said earlier, people fill up their own dashboards, there isn’t much of an algorithm here. Likes are just a number, reblogs are the primary way posts circulate. It’s not an obligation, but it is highly encouraged to reblog artists’ and writers’ works.

-It is okay to block people. If they’re doing something bad, you find them annoying, etc. just block the person. Do not make call out posts and public blocklists. If you want, you can message your mutuals (they have a green star in your follower tab) and tell them not to interact with the person. No one is notified when you block them, you will stop appearing in their dashboard and they will stop appearing in yours. If they try to visit your blog, it'll display as if the page isn't working & give an error if they try to reblog your posts.

-It’s okay to ask someone to use a trigger warning tag. If you follow someone whose posts can have something that triggers you/makes you uncomfortable. you can ask them to tag it so you can filter. They’re not obligated to use it, but there’s no harm in asking! You can always unfollow them in case it bothers you too much.

Posting

-Format your text. Tumblr has a bunch of options for formatting text and it’s very useful. You can bold, italic, strikethrough, or even COLOUR your text! :D

-Queue/Schedule your posts. Optional, but they allow you to keep your blog active and avoid spam reblogging. The difference between the two is that scheduling posts allows you to choose the exact time a post goes out.

-When reblogging, you can either type what you want to say in the post itself or in the tags. Tags disappear when someone else reblogs your post and they don’t appear in the replies. Only the person you reblogged the post from gets a notif about the tags. It’s down to what you prefer.

-Tag properly. Tags are part of the only way to categorise, search, and find posts, so tagging a lot of things incorrectly can cause a lot of problems for other people. This brings us to the next segment, tagging:

Tagging & Tagging Etiquette

-Use tags to organise posts. Tags are useful for people searching for stuff on your blog + it helps you post get discovered. I recommend also tagging people that sent you an ask for organisation (ex: #cat anon)

-Using tone indicators. They work exactly the same as on Twitter, but are more commonly located in the tags, asks, or replies.

-Put trigger warnings in the tags. This allows people to filter the posts they don’t want to see. Keep them consistent and simple. Most people use [xyz] tw or tw [xyz].

-Tag critical/discourse, etc. when applicable. Don’t put discourse on the main tag so that it won’t be shown to people that don’t want to see it. This is not optional. Use #[xyz] critical or #c![xyz] negative, not #[xyz].

-Use spoiler tags when posting about recent events. Usually you’d need to tag events for 2-7 days after they happen, depending on the fandom. (Ex: #dsmp spoilers, #3rd life spoilers)

-If your post is long, tag it with #long post. You don’t really need to do it if it’s short with a read more. Some people aren’t okay with scrolling past long posts. On desktop, you just need to go to an empty line and click the three dots on the side to add a read more. On mobile, you need to type :readmore: in a new paragraph.

-Do not crosstag. It doesn’t get your post more exposure, it just annoys people and clogs up tags with unrelated things.

-Do not use #mine/craft, #mine/blr or #mine/craft youtubers (without the slash) unless you are talking about the actual game. There are people that don’t want to see things about mcyt, dsmp, etc. and we don’t want to clog up the tags. The tagging system will include the last one because it still contains #mine/craft.

-Don’t use #hermitcraft for 3rd Life content. 3rd life is a completely different series and deserves its own tag. Yes, a bunch of hermits are on the server, but by using the Hermitcraft tag, you flood the tag with non-Hermitcraft posts.

-Don’t use #hermitcraft for crossovers with the Dream SMP. Use #hc x dsmp so that the Hermitcraft tag isn’t flooded.

-(Hermitblr exclusive) Don’t put posts with ships on the main tags. Separate the content so that it’s not shown to people who don’t want to see it. Instead, use the tags: #hermitship, #hermitshipblr, #hermitshipping. Avoid using the main character tags as well ex: #grian, #impulsesv. Use the ship name tags instead ex: #jleo, #grumbo, #scardubs.

-If you see someone using the wrong tags/tags they shouldn’t use, politely tell them. Ex: Someone used #mine/craft on a Dream SMP post, so you tell them in their asks/replies that the Mine/craft tag is exclusive to the actual game.

-Search it up if you don’t know what to tag your post. Go to Tumblr’s search and see how other people are tagging things similar to your post. There’s many alternative tags here (ex: #dream smp vs #dsmp) so don’t worry too much about it. I also have a list of tags you can use:

(#[ign] is usually used for the CC and character. If the character’s from the Dream SMP, you can tag #c![ign])

Other

-Don’t use ‘<’ in asks because it’ll delete everything that appears after it in the ask.

-Block anyone who calls themself an anti-anti or pro-ship. Just don’t deal with it.

-If a post seems really personal or the op said they’re gonna delete it later, either don’t reblog, or ask if you can.

-It’s not required, but much appreciated if you add image/video descriptions for the people who use screenreaders. Guide on it here.

-Follower counts are always private. We don’t do follow for follow here, Tumblr clout doesn’t matter.

-Edits on posts do not appear on reblogs that happened before the edit. Edits are still seen on the original post + if it was under a read more.

-Tumblr is very hungry and may accidentally eat your asks. If someone doesn’t answer, you can always ask if it went through.

semi-hiatus. | navi

as you may all know, i recently decided to go on hiatus. i can't really elaborate on what happened but let's just say that things been fastly occurring in my personal life? something like that.

i made the other post in a rush so i decided to make some time to do this and post content one last time before i actually dip fr on this app. but with that said, this hiatus will apply to most (if not, all) of my social media accounts.

other than that blog will be run on queue. i'll drop by to fill it up so my blog will be active on it's own. and no, i won't be opening my notifications not until i'm back and nor will i reply to my inbox during the break. sorry if you send something in, your reply from me will be sadly be late.

2 Years of ask-demon-prosciutto

((Well, it’s this blog’s 2 year anniversary. Probably not something to really celebrate considering how little content I’ve made, but that’s not why I’m posting about it. I’m talking about it because I want to make this milestone a comeback after all these months of dicking around. I’ve been planning this for quite a while, actually. I can’t remember how long I have, though maybe it’ll come to me later on (I’ve been up for an unnecessarily long time at the time of writing this). And now, the day that I planned would mark my return has come. And with new-ish beginnings come some pretty hefty changes. I of course didn’t get as much as I wanted to done, but it’s better than me holding onto an ask for several months just to give a shitty text response I suppose!

Okay, actually onto the updates:

General Changes

First off, we have completely new profile picture! I made this back in November, so I can safely say I’ve at least been working on this whole reboot since then! But yeah, I think this blog’s been LONG overdue for some new avatar flesh, especially considering...

Prosciutto Got a Redesign!

I’ve been teasing this for a while now, but now you guys get to see it in full, not only in the pinned post, but also... Here!

...I will admit he hasn’t changed as much as I wanted him to, but I’m still happy with how he turned out. I hope you guys are as well!

And for the record, I’m going to try to make new reference sheets like this for everyone else later on. I wanted to before today, but well... You know me (I was also occupied with other drawings).

New Pinned Post

I got a whole-ass new pinned post now! It features some new artwork, my inbox status, the Carrd, and some other things I’ll bring up down below. If you missed something important, you can probably find it in that post.

Carrd Updates

The Carrd’s gotten a pretty heft update since I last edited it! Changes include:

+Pretty much all of the text got rewritten or edited. Some sections were changed more than others.

+The Carrd overall now has a new aesthetic: The white/purple gradient was replaced with an orange/dark red one, a purple border was added, and the header image was changed to the new pfp + its size has been increased.

+Characters pages got a slight aesthetic overhaul too. Symbols corresponding to each character-minus Microorganism Pros- were added besides their names, and their subtitles/epithets were made bigger. The white dividers that went under each name were also removed because today I discovered that Carrds have a limited number of elements you can use if you don’t have their membership. Fun! I managed to free up some space, though they probably won’t be coming back knowing that there will be more elements needed as I introduce more characters.

+Also regarding characters, Illuso has been added to the roster of characters you can ask! With that, he has his own page now where you can gather come lore crumbs tm.

+Removed the tag guide page because I didn’t think it was necessary. Most of the tags have their meaning in parenthesis and/or are self-explantory. I also needed the element space, as discussed above. If people want it, however, I’ll bring the tag guide back, though it won’t be on the Carrd.

Speaking of that conflict regarding the limited elements, I’m considering moving everything over to a website now that I know of this. The Carrd I currently have is really beefy, and it’s only going to get even more stuffed as time goes on. I don’t think I’ll be able to fit everything I want to put on there, which is why I’m looking to find a good website maker, preferably one that doesn’t limit how much content you can put on one. I’ll be taking any suggestions given for the time being.

Discord

I’m working on setting up a Discord for this blog and as a sort of hub for other JJBA ask blogs out there! It’s mostly complete; I just wanna find a bot that can be used for auto-assigning roles first. It’ll put the invite link in the pinned post + make a separate post once I’m ready to open it up.

Scrapped Art/WIP Showcase

Remember when I promised this last year and then never actually did it? Well, it’s finally here! It’s also in the new pinned post in case you can’t find this post. Do keep in mind that it isn’t complete at the time of writing this though; I still gotta find some old sketchbook sketches that I never took pictures of.

More Activity?

I can’t guarantee this since I’m still the same old same old, but I’ll try my best to become more active! Y’all will also have to keep in mind that I got all sorts of other projects on my mind, and as of writing, something personal will be coming up soon for me, and it may affect my motivation depending on the outcome. Again, I’ll try my best to be more responsive, though it may come at the cost of the art’s quality...

A’ight, let’s go through this!

First off, I want to say: I really appreciate the effort your friend is putting into this, including going to the effort to have other people check their work! It’s a well-organized carrd, and I appreciate that they included a lot of less well-known labels! That being said, there’s definitely quite a bit of misinformation here - which is totally understandable, the misinformation has spread unfortunately far at this point. But hey, that’s why I’m here!

Incorrect info:

- “alterhuman: a general term for anyone who identifies as non-human, whether it be 'kin or 'link” (on Terms) “Alterhuman” is a much broader term than that - “Having an identity that is alternative to the common societal idea of 'human'; a person who identifies as such.” It covers anyone who has an alternative experience to humanity, or who experiences humanity in an alternative way from “normal”. It’s intentionally an extremely vague and broad term - it covers ‘kin, ‘links, ‘heartedness/kith/synpaths, plurality, daemonism, furry lifestylers, real vampires, endels, probably voidpunk, etc.

(There’s a whole conversation to be had here about how the alterhuman community was supposed to get away from centralizing the otherkin narrative but somehow ended up with that being a huge problem anyway, with it often feeling like it’s about nonhuman identity even though it’s not - but that’s a pretty long conversation, so we won’t go there xD)

- “astral limbs: the sensation of a body part that is not there in real life ; not to be confused with phantom limbs which is used by amputees” (on Terms) Astral limbs =/= supernumerary phantom limbs =/= phantom limb syndrome. What you’re defining is supernumerary phantom limbs, not astral limbs/shifts - astral limbs/shifts are where your astral body changes to match that of your kintype, which a) doesn’t always coincide with phantom shifts, and b) requires belief in astral bodies/the astral plane in the first place, which many ‘kin don’t hold.

Supernumerary phantom limbs is the sensation of having a body part that is not and never has been physically present, as opposed to phantom limb syndrome which is referring to limbs that have been amputated. It’s not “appropriating” language from amputees or anything like that like some people have tried to claim - supernumerary phantom limbs is a medical term. Astral limbs isn’t an accurate, adequate, or necessary replacement.

- copingkin: identifying with or as anything under fictionkin or otherkin for comfort and/or coping ; also referred to as comfortkin ~ also see copinglink (from Kin) I would strongly suggest removing this; it’s not an accepted term and pretty much never has been as far as I’m aware. You’re either copinglink, someone who chose their identity for coping purposes, or otherkin who happens to have a psychological explanation, if your identity came about as an unconscious/involuntary coping mechanism.

- fictionkin: identifying with or as a fictional character or race. (from Kin) Remove “with or”; it’s identify-as. If you don’t identify as them, you’re not ‘kin. Identifying strongly with, but not as, is ‘heartedness, not ‘kin. I would also suggest swapping “race” for “species,” if that’s what you meant, since that’s a pretty loaded term out of context.

- otherkin: identifying with or as non-animal/non-human and mythical creatures ; some have their own label such as songkin. (from Kin) Remove “with or”; it’s identify-as, as above^.

- kin is often involuntarily & spiritual, if you consider yourself kin but don't do these, see hearted or synpath (from Kin) ‘Kin is involuntary, full stop, but it’s not necessarily spiritual. Nor is the distinction between ‘kin and ‘heartedness/synpaths the voluntary/involuntary aspect; it’s that ‘kin is identify-as and ‘heartedness/synpath isn’t.

- aeslink relating to anything for aesthetic reasons ~ "i am angel & palace aeslink" copinglink strongly relating with a fictional character for comfort and/or coping. (from Other) ‘Links are voluntarily choosing to cultivate an identity as something else - character, species, or otherwise. It’s still identify-as, not “relating to,” it’s just voluntary where otherkinity is involuntary. It’s not any less serious or any less identify-as. 'Linking or otherlinking is defined as “voluntarily choosing to identify as nonhuman/a fictional character or species”.

- synpaths: strongly relating to a fictional character or race that you see a lot of yourself in, but not as strong as kin. (from Other) Remove “not as strong as ‘kin”; ‘kin isn’t “relating to” something in the first place, it’s identifying as that thing. I would also suggest swapping “race” for “species,” if that’s what you meant, since that’s a pretty loaded term out of context.

- therian: identifying with or as an animal or other living thing. (from Other) Remove “with or”; it’s identify-as, as with fictionkin and otherkin.

Suggested edits:

Things that aren’t necessarily wrong, but which I would suggest edits to anyway for clarity/accuracy.

- awakening: the moment one realizes they identify as a kintype/theriantype (from Terms) I would posit that an awakening isn’t necessarily a single moment in time; much more often it’s an extended process that can take weeks, months, or even years. There’s some overlap between “awakening” and “questioning” that way, imo.

- They also said “theriantype” multiple times where it should be “theriotype,” but that’s more of a typo thing than a content error.

- otherkin: identifying with or as non-animal/non-human and mythical creatures ; some have their own label such as songkin. (from Kin) Songkin is probably not a great example if this is intended for outsiders who are new to the terminology, since conceptkin is kind of hard to explain to begin with, but that’s my personal opinion.

- Cladotherian, therian, theriomythic, and phytanthrope should all be on the ‘Kin page, as they all technically fall under ‘kin.

- identity/ID, kinnie & kinning won't be added as they are terms created by the more newer kin community and aren't recognized/accepted terms for older kin, though some older kin may be okay with these terms. (from Terms) Personally, I don’t like calling them “the newer kin community” - the “kin for fun” people aren’t ‘kin, they’re misusing our language, that’s the entire point. “The “kin-for-fun” community” or just “terms being warped as part of misinformation” would probably be more accurate.

- Synpath can probably be included on the ‘hearted page, since synpath, kith, and otherhearted are basically all synonymous.

Suggested additions:

- A resources list may be worthwhile! Things like personal websites and perhaps a few trustworthy blogs/posts could be worth adding to that list (I have a kin resources tag here that may be useful to them if they want to do that!) This gives people a place to go if they want to learn more.

- The term otherlinker is probably a good one to add, given that copinglinker and a specific type of ‘link (aeslink) are both present but the larger umbrella term presently isn’t.

- kintrope: a trait found in most of ones kintypes. (from Terms) I’m really curious where they found this term, it’s not one I’ve heard before!

I think that’s about all I can find - like I said, I really appreciate the effort being put into this carrd! There’s a lot of good terms on here, just some definition fixes that need to be made - it’s well-organized and very aesthetically pleasing, which is more than I can honestly say for a lot of carrds xD

Hopefully that’s all clear enough to be helpful - I’m more than happy to chat further about this or provide clearer definitions/suggested resources, if your friend wants! :3
