Alright one more summer prompt just cause I thought about it and it's bugging me but please don't worry about this one if it makes you uncomfortable or anything.

Anyway Castiel/Benny/Dean ship with Dean as a Demon and I'm thinking 37. Sweating and either 22. Sitting Outside at Night or 32. Laying/Sitting Still should work fine. Like I said it's just a weird idea my brain just came with but I figured I still ask. Thank you!

Hello love!

I am still so in love with this idea and want more Castiel/Benny Lafitte/Dean Winchester stories, but the muse just can't seem to get it together for a whole story. I did over the past few weeks have a lot of random thoughts and musings on a version of them and I wanted to share them, especially since this is my last open summer request of this year. I know we talked about it, but thank you for understanding that sometimes it just doesn't happen. I really loved the musings we shared over the summer with this prompt and others and I can't wait for fall prompts later this week!

So my general thought regarding this relationship-wise was a background of previous Dean Winchester/Benny Lafitte starting in purgatory and then a long distance-ish one of them until it just kinda fizzled for some reason or another cause Benny didn’t die. A budding newness between Benny Lafitte and Castiel, which leads to, at the end of things, the three of them together after overcoming some issues.

As far as some more detailed musings plot-wise, I have a ton stored up. I tried to organize them but my brain is a hornet’s nest.

In my mind’s eye, I pictured it being set around Season 10 mainly during the summer, but for unknown reasons, Benny is alive but estranged from Dean. They talk but not as often as either of them would like. Cas is still low on grace and managing poorly. Similarly to the show, Sam and Castiel have a split after Dean dies and comes back a demon. Sam gets hurt because of Cas's low grace over the summer which causes the split up between them. My headcanon is that he was worried about Cas so in typical Sam fashion distance is safer. Around this time, while Cas is sick and still trying to find Dean and Crowely, the barely angel remembers that vampires never lose a scent once they know it and then he remembers Benny, who is again alive for reasons and because of things.

There would be some awkwardness between Castiel and Sam when Cas shows up for one of Dean’s phones from the Impala that had Benny’s numbers, most of them do. He doesn’t tell Sam because Sam really doesn’t like or understand Dean and Benny’s relationship. I feel like the reason would be the hypocrisy more than anything else since it always bothered me how bothered Sam was by it in the show when Benny literally never did anything to him or anyone recently. My headcanon about that as always been he just really can’t stand that Dean has a vampire boyfriend and that’s cool but he can’t even have a monster friend live longer than two seconds. But that’s just me... Anywho, Castiel calls Benny on Dean’s phone, and of course, he answered.

Benny had been worried since he hadn’t heard from the hunter in a while and Castiel explains why and why he was calling. Needless to say, Benny agrees pretty quickly to track the very familiar smell of Dean’s blood. The two meet up much in the same manner as Hannah does in canon which leads to some laughter. Benny’s not uncomfortable but he is intrigued by the angel’s lack of sense. Cas doesn’t go into detail but lets him know he’s not himself.

Throughout their tracking the two talk about Dean, Heaven, and a lot of in-between despite some awkward feelings on both of their parts. The more the two share hotel rooms, car rides, and topics of conversation the closer they come to understanding Dean’s affections for the other. Benny is easily amused by some of Castiel’s newness and fascination with humanity as well as the different things he had experienced previously as a human.

When Hannah does come the vampire keeps Cas focused on their search for Dean and reminds him of what he finds important not what his species does.

I feel like this section is where I would have used a lot of the prompts, this bonding time and their conversations. Sweating I especially liked for Castiel as the first time Benny commented on the angel's condition. I see them standing somewhere while Benny tries to pick up a scent and decide if they should keep heading south or go west. Castiel tries to brush him off and complain about Benny, saying that it had been too long or he lost his scent after they returned.

“Cherie, you really think I would forget his scent? You forget his soul?”

Castiel shook his head, squinting and looking away from him.

“Naw, didn’t think so. Now tell me what the problem is.”

I also really like the idea of using both of the other prompts in this time frame for a night when Benny convinces Cas to stop since they’re getting closer and the angel is still coughing. It's very warm in the hotel and Benny is trying to fix the air co unit in the room but Castiel is hot. He doesn’t complain but just sits there on the bed shifting and coughing uncomfortably.

“Would you just strip, already? All the sudden he’s got modesty. I’ve already seen it, cher. Just be naked and lay still. I’ll get it working.”

Then later they sit outside in the car when it's cooler in the parking lot trying to plan for finally catching up with Dean just as he’s attacking Sam inside of the bunker. I didn’t really have any more musings after that but I do really love this idea and this did additionally spark some smutty thoughts in my head between the three of them. So maybe at some point, I’ll come back to this but it exists here, and hopefully, it will inspire you or someone else to write.
