But I have been assured by people I've talked to about it that they can GENUINELY really see #stuff in their heads like as vivid as an actual picture in real life or something. And the other senses are neat too. Like for exmaple I #can hear in my head much better than I can see imagery. I still CANNOT hear vividly like as if I were listening to actual music out loud.. #but I think it's developed more than my sight. AND interesting how this varies the creative process. a friend I was talking to on the phone #said they write by literally just watching stuff play before them like a movie. where my process is COMPLETELY different. AND that affects #the content/what details we focus on as well as our individual styles of writing have differences that can be traced back to that.. hrmm

I’ve seen a few of the ghosts regent ideas floating around, but pair that with adoptive dad Jason.

Jason adopts Danny but because he died, came back, and took a green soup dip Jason ends up accidentally adopting Danny in both the living realm and the GZ/IR. Danny being only 15 in human years and 1 in ghost years may be the current king, but he’s too young to be considered the formal ruler for events and realm rituals. So Jason has to take brakes from being the Red Hood every few weeks to basically put blob ghosts in a fancy circle and glare at unruly citizens.

Jason takes care of Danny and keeps the Bats from crowding and stressing him out. He also lets Danny help with vigilante stuff by working on evacuation plans, non lethal weaponry, medical training, and other things that won’t put him in danger or directly in the field.

Eventually the Red Hood gets captured by cultists along with a few of the other bats, all of them are tied to poles and fighting to escape their bindings. Then Jason hears what they’re supposedly going to summon, “The tyrant of the dead! The King of the Infinite Realm!” Jason stops fighting against his bindings and has to try not to choke or die again from laughing too hard while telling them they were about to do the stupidest thing they ever had.

The cultists say he “won’t be laughing for much longer” and to “shut up” and begin to summon the King. The entire area starts glowing green and the temperature drops, everyone can see their breath, the lights are flickering, and citrus scented neon green smoke begins spreading and forming a humanoid shape. At the same time the Red Hood vanishes, his bindings falling to the floor.

The cultists excitingly finish the ritual and while the figure is still cloaked in smoke tell it they prepared sacrifices for it. The smoke fades and standing fully armed ready to fight is the Red Hood. He tells the cultists to Run and that he told them they were going to regret this.

After Jason beats the cultists and the Bats get free they ask him how he did it. Jason responds by saying the King didn’t sign the Summoning permission slip so he can’t be summoned. This just leaves them more confused.

Jason heads back home to tell Danny what happened and that he should change the King’s summoning requirements.

story idea: kara tells kon she likes his earring, they get to discussing the way he only has a piercing at all because of cadmus tagging him to label him project #13, and how it's pretty much impossible for a kryptonian on earth to get any further piercings because the moment they're in the sun again it'll immediately heal up.

solution: they need to take a monthlong trip out in space somewhere with a red sun, get new piercings, and spend long enough with minimal exposure to yellow sunlight that they heal up normally and won't count as wounds for advanced healing to close up fully.

complications: there's no way two kryptonian teenagers/young adults can just do a simple space trip in peace without getting caught up in something absolutely ridiculous. what exact variety of ridiculous? well i'm not all that sure but something silly definitely needs to go down.

and sure. you're right. it's very different in a webcomic. in fact i am almost certain that no webcomic has ever had a protagonist with silver hair.

not a single webcomic ever has done that before. truly. a completely unrealistic expectation to have.

really it's not like silver hair is one of the most popular tropes in manhwa and almost every other webcomic has one of those

clearly. this was a completely impossible thing to ask of an adaptation. it's not like it's one of the most iconic parts of our protagonist's design. it's not like it's mentioned almost every single time javier is onscreen.

now, correct me if i'm wrong. but shouldn't your deuteragonist, the very first character your character meets, your second main character's design,,, more important than a secondary character that isn't introduced like,,, more than a hundred episodes later???

like. i don't think we even get told what color lloyd's hair is. but god does the novel mention that habiel has silver hair every five minutes.

i'm sorry i just think that if you're gonna adapt something the very least thing you could do is try to be faithful to one of the very few character descriptions we ever get! especially that of your goddamn main character!

how come a secondary character takes precedence over him?? why not change that character's hair color then???

and even then. if your character design skills suck so much that two characters having the same hair color is enough to make them look too similar perhaps there's a bigger problem here.

i just,,,, i am almost certain i know what character he's speaking of. maybe even two characters. hell maybe even three. but fucking guess what. the webnovel illustrations already did designs for those characters. it gave them all silver hair. and there was No Issue at all because their designs were so distinct from one another that at no point was there any doubt of who was who. because that's what good character design is about.

like. that's such a stupid reason oh my godddd if you're gonna pull that bs then what's your excuse for all those other characters with brown hair. are you not worried they're gonna overlap because their hair color is the same. i mean you made silurian's brown hair darker so now it matches like 90% of your background characters. do their design not overlap like that.

i'm just!! it's such a stupid thing to get mad about!! especially when there's far more egregious changes being made but like!! it just,,, it shows the kind of attitude the people adapting tged into a webcomic have towards the source material

it's not about the hair color. i mean it is but there's more to it. it's about how the artists feel comfortable disregarding parts of the novel and canon because it's more convenient to them. it's about how they prefer to focus on unimportant stuff that gets them a few laughs rather than put a little bit of effort into getting their characters right. it's about how they waste entire panels into making ugly faces and repetitive jokes rather than take a bit of time to get the hair color of their protagonist correctly.

What if…. What if Shanks was ticklish and Buggy was the only person in the world who knows because would you go over and just try and tickle an emperor of the sea? Would you have the balls? I don’t think so. Buggy’s Chopchop ability was the bane of Shanks existence when they were young, but he would insist on being not ticklish at all, even when Buggy’s detached hand was finger walking it’s way up from his arm to his shoulder to his neck and he was already biting his lower lip and shaking because he knew what was coming.

Which also is the problem he’s facing in the current day, because you’d think Haki would help with being ticklish because you can anticipate it coming but it’s even WORSE actually because Buggy can just look at him funny and Shanks is already trembling and giggling because he’s the kind of guy who gets phantom tickles and he knows Buggy well enough to know when he gets the idea.

Buggy is torn between being pleased that he has finally found a weak point and thinking it’s the stupidest thing he ever heard and being mad about it (especially during the time when he’s still in denial about having positive feelings about him as an adult) and between being weirdly… moved? Nostalgic? Trying not to be touched? Because thing is: Shanks only lets him do that. There aren’t many people around who would still dare to try this with Shanks anyways, but let’s say Buggy sees Yasopp just kind of make a grabby motion towards Shanks in jest while they are out drinking and Shanks equally playfully slaps his hand away, which Buggy knows he wouldn’t have done if it was his hand and would have lead to a one sided twenty minute long tickle fight between them when they were younger. Tries real hard not to think about why that pleases him.

I don’t know either I was just struck with the mental image of Buggy with a shit eating grin on his face asking Shanks if he’s suuuuure he’s not ticklish at all? Reaaaally not even a little? While his fingertips lightly draw circles on his neck and Shanks going „NOPE! Ffffhhh. Not, ha-, not at all! Nooooo…“ while visibly holding back laughter. And it’s cute af

This is the sweetest thing ever and I'm dying reading this,,

I love this because I'm sure there are a lot of things Shanks and Buggy did only with each other together when they were kids that feel too personal and intimate to let anybody else do it. Shanks doesn't let other people tickle him, not because of being an emperor, but because that's something Buggy did to him when they were kids and he refuses somebody else to do it. And it's such a simple, stupid thing but,, Imagine these two trying to reconnect. Trying to get along again. And it's hard to be the way they used to be all of a sudden, so it's slow and it takes a lot of time for them to learn about the people they've become without the other. And as you said, Buggy sees the whole thing of Yasopp trying to reach out to Shanks and Shanks not wanting that. There's just this warmth inside of Buggy. Satisfaction. Relief. Whatever this is called. And he hates the feeling of getting soft and weak around Shanks again, but damn, it's just so fucking nice to see him react like that to his own crew, even, when Buggy knows he would never do that to him.

So he tries to prove that theory and after a few more drinks he reaches out to him and places a hand on his hip (trying to play it off like it's nothing and it's not embarrassing at all, when he's actually panicking). And Shanks not only lets him do it but sits closer to him. He places his arm around Buggy's shoulders and keeps laughing at somebody else's joke like nothing happened. He likes his touch and apparently, he keeps wanting more and Buggy hates how much he loves being like this again, even if they've changed. Even if the arm pressing him close it's not the left one like it used to be.

Shanks looks at Buggy smiling, oh so happy and satisfied it makes Buggy go insanely mad. So the clown just rolls his eyes and smirks, and decides to do the thing he always did to piss off Shanks and starts tickling him. His laugh fills the whole place and it's so damn lovely,,, Their crews just ignore them but share knowing looks of "Oh, these two are going to be so damn annoying now if they start getting along again".

And I think that, besides the tickling, there are so many things that they don't let other people do because the other used to do it with them. Like- Buggy let Shanks touch his hair all the time because it felt nice and apparently the redhead loved it, but now he fucking hates it when other people touch it. Shanks doesn't let people tickle him, as you said, but also despises it when somebody drinks from the same bottle/glass as him because he and Buggy used to share bottles of sake in secret back at the Oro Jackson and it brings back old memories. Etc, etc, etc and a thousand things more they did together and refuse to let other people do now.

... Will you guys please let me talk about hgduo/gossipduo/mockingjays/ whatever they are called a little more pleaseeeeeeeeee, they make me unwell and I want to get my thoughts about them out of my head- or more specifically about them from Bad's point of view!

There's a familial air to it, but it's just not true to define it like that- and that doesn't make what they DO have any less powerful or significant- They have a unique bond and that continues to be true, even during painful times like this.

Cellbit WAS Bad's responsibility at one point, and that time came and went- he got him through the war and into adulthood ( aka 18 years old or close to it.) They meet again as old friends and generally respect each other as such... but even so Bad can't deny he still feels some duty to watch over the man once he starts crumbling- much like how Cellbit as well can't help but reach out to Bad during this time.

but there's limits.

like- Bad for years had and still wants to protect Cellbit, he's had an influence on him, he taught him how to survive, he himself acknowledges he has some responsibility over Cellbit, looking at Cellbit right now feels like looking in a mirror, he doesn't like having to give up on him, but if it's between him and the kids he's choosing the kids every time... and he knows there is no simple way to save someone who refuses to let themself be saved.

And it hurts! It hurts seeing Cellbit like this! It hurts having to let him burn! It hurts watching someone he cares for falling down the same path he is! It hurts knowing he's hurting others the way it did for him seeing Cellbit like this! It hurts having to choose his kids over his protege/ student/ former responsibility/ the kid he watched over years ago/ old friend/ his 'something'!

Like, cc!Bad brought up this internal mental tier list that q!Bad has- I still deeply believe that q!Cellbit is quite high up there even if he'll never be at the level his kids are at- like he loves Cellbit enough that he ACTUALLY CONSIDERED putting parts of his months long plan at risk to save him- even if it was just during the stress of that moment that still means a LOT from Bad- but he was always going to choose his kids in the end!

Based on what I know of q!Bad (which is admitably not a lot lol) there is next to nothing that'd convince him to give up on his kids- with Cellbit he's able to see that he can't help him because Cellbit sadly does not want to be saved- and for Bad that means he simply has to accept it even if he really doesn't like it- the emotions from that night have processed and he's looking at the situation from a more logical and resolute perspective. If it means him and Cellbit may one day clash, then with a heavy sigh so be it....

but if it was Dapper or Pomme... I just don't feel certain in saying he'd be able to come to that conclusion, especially not after one night. Even if it would be the 'smart' thing to do. It's one of the key differences between the dynamic he has with them vs Cellbit...

But, in a perfect situation, he would've done everything to save them both.

Don't even get me started on trans subreddits oh my lord. I was already put off a little bit when I first went on there because there was such an imbalance in how many trans women there were compared to trans men. Which isn't necessarily bad, but I'm not part of that demographic. But the fact they REGULARLY contained posts that either put down, dismissed, or were generally weird towards trans men and mascs was really frustrating to me. I left there a long time ago for that exact reason, so I can't remember a lot of exact stuff (I remember a lot of people being weird as hell in the comments when a trans man DID actually post. Genital swapping, putting down their experience, etc) but I'm sure people who regularly skimmed there when it was still going know what I mean. Unless it changed to be better after I left then maybe you don't.

Tiktok can be pretty bad about it too, but I don't see as much of it on there. Just erasure of transman and masc experiences in favor of transfem. Though I do see a lot more transmen on there in general.

But Tumblr was like the first place I saw transmen posting about the crap we have to deal with. Which was such a breath of fresh air. Even if tumblr as a whole doesn't really seem to care there is a niche that exists and can be seen. Which is much more than there ever was on r/traaaa, or any trans space on tiktok.

It's important to talk about transwomen and transfem experiences, so incredibly important because they're just as much a part of the community as anyone else. But so are transmen and transmasc experiences. It's so annoying. I'm so glad you mentioned reddit specifically though that website was so terrible with that stuff when I was on there.
