a little one shot based off this request
pairing: Mattheo Riddle x reader
word count: ~700
warnings: mentions of weight, ed tendencies
You sighed, pinching the bridge of your nose at you looked at the envelope in your hands. Your mother made a habit of charming her letters to read allowed to you once they’ve opened and you just weren’t in the mood to hear what you were sure was only ridicule and critique about how disappointed you were making her. Your parent’s expectations were high to say the least. You thanked Merlin for your sorting into Slytherin, hoping that keeping that legacy would at least have them showing some sort of affection, but alas you were given a letter listing more expectations now that you’ve met a previous one.
You swallowed, finally getting the courage to tear the seal. As soon as it was broken the letter finished opening on its own, folding into a pair of disapproving lips that strongly resembled your mum. You closed your eyes, ready to bar the message. “Y/n…hope you’re doing well,” your mother’s voice rang through the room as you rolled your eyes. “Your father and I got your most recent marks. We were disappointed to see you let that mudblood best you yet again, it really would be nice if you put in some effort with your studies.” You groaned, rubbing your hands over your face. You were second in your class, only behind Hermione Granger who, very obviously, was the smartest witch to come out of your generation. She was actually a sweet girl, and your mother’s use of the derogatory term turned your stomach.
You had hoped that was the gist of the letter, but your mother’s voice continued, “Your father and I also received the latest Hogwarts Herald. The photo they used of you from the last quidditch match really was awful, seems like you’ve quite a bit…larger than when you left this fall. Please remember to pace yourself at meals, chew at least twenty times before you swallow. It’ll trick your mind to think you’re fully, trust me. You’ll thank me for it later. Also, please remember to pack your nicer clothing when you come home for Holiday. You know how important those parties are for your father.” With that the letter floated down to your desk, reverting back to a simple piece of parchment.
You let out a shuttered breath, not even aware you were holding it in. Your eyes brimming with tears. “Y/n/n…” you turn your head at the sound of Mattheo’s voice, wiping your eyes with the back of your hand before standing up, trying to compose yourself. “Oh, hey Teo, what’s up?” He looked at you with sad eyes, “Was that your mum?” You nodded, putting on a smile the best you could, “Yeah, she’s, erm, just really passionate about her beliefs. No big deal, how much, uh, how much did you happen to hear?” Mattheo walked closer to you, “Heard that she wants you to starve yourself, why on earth would she say something like that?”
He went to place his hands on your hips, but you pushed them away. You walked over to your bed, sitting on the edge. Mattheo turned in his spot, “You know what she says isn’t true, don’t you, love?” You shrugged your shoulders, unsure of yourself. “Princess, you are so absolutely breathtaking. You are so strong, one of the toughest beaters I know, you’re the reason we won the last five games, that’s why they took that photo of you.” He was standing in front of you now, holding your hands in his. He brought one up to his lips, kissing your palm, then the inside of your wrist before guiding you to wrap your hand around his neck. “Every curve of your body,” his hands roaming up your sides now, “Merlin, I’m so obsessed with you.” His forehead rested against yours, noses brushing, “Don’t listen to her cruel words, because if I had it my way I’d worship you, every part of you, every night, every day.” He tilted your chin up, connecting his lips to yours. The kiss was soft, gentle, like he was breathing you in. He broke apart, a little sooner than you would have liked. He then walked around, climbing onto the bed behind you, “C’mere, let’s lay down. I wanna keep telling you how perfect you are.” His arms stretched out and you immediately climbed into his embrace. You spent the rest of the night like that, wrapped in his arms.

Good morning/evening 🥳🤩
Can you do ateez reactions when they loose a bet with their s/o? (Any type of bet and of what the looser has to do) 💖💖💖
Call Your Bet!
Hello friend, hope you like this variety of bets 😘Warning: varying levels of suggestive (never explicit as always)! Sorry for late post here, I have covid 🤪🤙🏻
Hongjoong
Insinuating you knew the guys better than their leader was, in fact, fighting words, but you didn’t care. It was fun to tease Hongjoong, though perhaps it had gotten out of hand.
“I bet you you don’t know them all,” he challenged you, arms crossed.
Exhaling, you felt your posture drop. You weren’t afraid of a little betting, it was just that you were with a man who had expensive tastes. “What are you wanting to bet on this?” It wasn’t even that big of a deal, just that you could remember all the Ateez members’ drink orders.
“Hm,” he put a finger to his chin, gazing at you playfully, “how about a massage?”
Your eyes perked back up at that, a smile creeping onto your lips- that you could do. Gladly. A bet with no punishments was certainly not what you expected. “Of course. Let’s go.”
~
“Wow, how’d you know what we wanted without asking?” Yunho inquired with a smile.
“I just know you guys that well,” you replied, gaze sliding from your friend’s wide eyes to those of your incredulous boyfriend.
Hongjoong for his part glowed with pride. For all his bravado, it did his heart good to see you caring for some of the people he loved most. Laying a hand on your shoulder, he pulled you closer. Your heart settled warmly…at least until he leaned closer and whispered in your ear.
“I’ll show you later why I feel like I won.”
Seonghwa
“There’s no way I’m losing at this!”
“Come on, I know exactly what he's going to say."
Goofing off with your boyfriend, you'd made a bet that you knew how Hongjoong would reply when he entered the room. Seonghwa, of course, insisted he knew his best friend better and thus came the agreement that the winner would choose the next couples' day activity. Likely a movie or a new lego set if Seonghwa was the victor.
“There’s no way if you tell him we’re going to be making a mess in here the first thing out his mouth won’t be ‘no’ or ‘don’t you dare’!”
“Well, I think he’ll at least ask what we’re doing first.”
Seonghwa’s mouth opened, but footsteps at your back cut his chance of a snappy retort. The doorknob clicked as the man of the hour entered the room, greeting his friend first, then you with faintly pleased surprise.
“Hi, Hongjoong! Is it ok if we kind of make a mess in here?” You asked him innocently.
Ateez’s leader instantly arched a brow at you, glancing between you and his best friend. “Doing what? Are you tearing the whole place up?”
“Oh, like your reforming doesn’t do that,” Seonghwa teased him with a little shove.
For your part, you just pointed at him. “That counts! That counts though!”
“Yeah, you were right.”
Hongjoong’s smile fell. “What did I do?”
“We’re not actually making a mess,” you replied with satisfaction as you glanced between both men, “I just get to give Seonghwa a makeover now.”
Yunho
When Yunho invited you to game with him, he’d expected you to get competitive within the actual realm of the game itself, but alas. You taunted him with bet after bet until he finally agreed, sealing, well, someone’s fate.
“I bet I’ll win.”
“Oh yeah?”
“Yeah. I bet the hoodie I will.”
He turned to face you with a look of exasperated amusement, hands leaving his laptop keyboard. “How can you bet my hoodie?”
Yunho had one hoodie you’d been desperate to steal ever since he first lent it to you. It was the most amazingly comfortable oversized dream of a garment and it was even your favorite color. Many a joke had been made in light of its wonders.
One corner of your mouth tilted up as you gave him your sassiest little head tilt. “You know how.”
You saw a look flash across his eyes ever so briefly, his most YA shut-up-make-me look, but then it faded into pure smugness. “Alright, fine. If you want it so bad, you’ll have to earn it. Ready, babe?”
All you could do was grin and ready your own screen, swiveling to face it. “You know it.”
~
“Well, I’ll be. Hiding was your whole plan?” Yunho’s look of equal parts frustration and awe as he spun in his chair to face you furthered your victory high, raising your smile and speeding your nod even more.
“Well, it was a survival match,” you reminded him with a shrug, “now pay up.”
Shaking his head fondly at your grabby hands, Yunho rose, stretched, and crossed his room to the closet, where he extricated your precious trophy and tossed it to you with a playfully voiced “Catch!”
Squealing with joy, you sat up to do just that, all but cuddling the garment to yourself as you savored the feel, the scent.
As he sat back down in his gaming chair, your boyfriend leaned against his desk with a soft smile. “Man, if I knew you were going to be this cute about it, I would have just given it to you.”
Hey, at least he got a kiss for a consolation prize.
Yeosang
“I’m going to find it first!”
“Says who?”
“Says me! I’m always lucky with these sorts of things,” you told your boyfriend.
Strolling across a green field had somehow turned into a competition, not that you regretted it as your heart sped a bit at the excitement and your chest burst with chuckles at the skepticism on Yeosang’s face.
Four-leaf clovers struck your fancy as you’d strolled, waving greenery reminding you of old tales of luck, not to mention childhood experiences searching for them and calling yourself a leprechaun if you found one. Thus bargaining with Yeosang for a pot of gold of your own.
“Loser buys dinner!”
At that, your boyfriend pouted. “I was going to buy dinner.”
“Then you better lose,” you winked and ran past him, bending over to scan the widespread greenery for wondrous irregularity.
Out of the corner of your eye you see him bend his knees too, stepping forward in the comical waddle you were surely mirroring. Trios of leaves danced in the breeze before your sight, drawing your focus such that your vision began to blur-
There! You had no idea how many minutes had passed, but right as your knees began to ache and the clover growth had practically burned its pattern into your vision, a beautiful variation to it all. A four-leaf clover.
“Found one!” You exclaimed in triumph, plucking it for proof.
The wide-eyed look on Yeosang’s face alone was priceless, the shocked smile slowly spreading across his… wait a minute.
“Did you lose on purpose?” Hand on your hip, you fixed him with an accusing look.
Batting his eyelashes innocently, he singsonged, “Maaaaybeeeee….”
“Hun,” you sighed.
He stepped closer, taking hold of your shoulders. “I just wanted to spoil you, what can I say?”
“Alright, sweet-talker,” you shook your head, leaning in for a quick kiss.
San
“So you think you can beat me at my own game?”
“Yes, obviously, that’s why I’m betting with you,” you teased, sticking your tongue out at San playfully.
Your boyfriend had taken you to the amusement park and you’d endeavored to see who could go the longest on the biggest roller coaster without screaming.
Pulling you into his chest, he shook his head with amusement. “So the loser buys the winner a souvenir?”
You nodded into his shirt, stepping forward in line.
“Sounds good to me. You’re on.”
“You’re going down.” Even as you chugged to the top of the most massive hill you’d ever been on, your eyes were locked firmly upon San’s sculpted profile, the way his fell back onto you as he turned.
“I’m sure I am,” he replied right as your car began its descent.
The moment the momentum started he threw up his hands and let out a loud whoop. You laughed despite the wild hoot it came out as, fixing San as best you could when a sharp turn threw you into his side.
“You didn’t even try!” You shouted over the wind’s exhilarating rush.
San grinned against the assault of air. “I want to buy you stuff!” He exclaimed triumphantly as you sailed down the next smaller hill.
Mingi
Corny as it may have been, you guys decided to try one of those couples’ bets where you see who can go the longest without touching the other. You had bragged enough about it being easy that if nothing else, your pride was at stake let alone any penalty.
You weren’t the type to play dirty (in this case literally or figuratively), so for the most part you just went about your day, though you had worn Mingi’s favorite outfit on you and you couldn’t help a faint smirk at the way his eyes traveled up it.
“Ready for the first movie, hun?”
“Yep!” For all his wandering eyes, your boyfriend had relegated himself to the furthest edge of the couch where he sat straight as a pin, hands folded in his lap.
With a snort, you chose the middle cushion, placing yourself just out of his reach and crossing your legs. “Popcorn?” You held out the bowl in your hand.
Narrowing his eyes, he leaned forward and curled his fingers around the top edge to lift it from you. “Nice try.”
You shrugged. “I’m just trying to enjoy the movie. You gonna be ok with this one?”
“Yeah,” he replied between crunching mouthfuls of popcorn, “of course I am, why?”
“I dunno,” you answered in a faint singsong and batted your eyelashes innocently, “it’s a pretty romantic movie.”
“So what?”
~
So what indeed. You heard the springs of the couch before anything, turning more out of curiosity, but you barely had time to register a single sight as Mingi surged forward and yanked you into an electric kiss in time with the main interests’. His hands slid from your shoulders down to your waist, your hips, as you metaphorically shook off your surprise and responded.
“To hell with the bet,” he said as you pulled away, satisfaction joining the smattering of red across his face at your smile.
“You won’t be saying that when you have to do whatever I say for a day,” you reminded him.
“Maybe I like that punishment,” he shot back with a shameless smile, returning to his sweet laugh the moment you playfully shoved him.
Wooyoung
“You’ve really never tried this before?”
“When would I get a chance to?” You countered, shifting beneath the sheets to face Wooyoung.
“I dunno,” he shrugged, leaning just inches from your face as his voice lowered, “you tell me.”
You accepted the kiss before you spoke, smiling into the shocking passion of it and leaning in deeper before you finally broke it. “I’m not exactly the ‘stay in bed all day’ type on the average day.”
“I know,” he leaned over you with a grin, “that’s why there are stakes. Last to get up and you get to pick how we spend the afternoon.”
“Or evening.”
His eyebrows shot up and down. “Or evening.”
You laughed and gave him a little push away, but he came right back forward to wind his arms around your waist. “There’s no way we’ll stay down that long. We’ll have to eat or, you know, go pee or something.”
“Not if we keep busy enough to forget.”
You didn’t disagree with the logic there, but he still got a light smack with a pillow.
~
“You know what?”
Wooyoung pressed even closer to you- if that was even physically possible. “What?”
“You’ve got me on your side now. This day’s been almost perfect.”
His eyebrows raised at that as he searched your gaze. “Almost?”
“Yeah, it’s been great,” you replied, giving him your most earnest eyes.
“But what could make it better?” He urged you, one of his hands finding yours.
“I’m just thirsty is all.”
Over a drink, yet his stare was so intense, eager. “I’ll get your favorite.”
“No, you don’t have to do that,” you told him.
“Anything for my darling.” Pressing a kiss to the back of your hand, Wooyoung rose from the bed, pulling on his robe. “I want to.”
“Ha!” You exclaimed. “Sucker! I can’t believe that worked!”
Realization hit him like a ton of bricks, widening his eyes and slumping his shoulders. “Oh, shit.”
“I win!” You cheered, raising your hands above your head.
He crossed his arms and stuck his tongue out at you despite still crossing the room to fetch your drink. “Whatever. We were probably going to pick similar things anyway.”
“True,” you giggled, rolling your eyes fondly, “but I’ll find a way to make it interesting, don’t you worry.”
Jongho
He started it, teasing as ever and confident in his victory if his crossed arms and prematurely triumphant smile said anything. Leaning against the counter, he’d briefly enjoyed your amusement at the apple he’d snapped in half for you before speaking.
“Bet you couldn’t break me one.”
“What,” you’d just teased, “getting tired of being the strong man?”
“No, it’s nice to be powerful,” he grinned shyly, but I’ve just never seen you try anything like that before.”
You’d seen it done by ordinary folk before. Sure, why not? It was Jongho’s shtick and you never moved in on it, but if he asked, so be it. Reaching over to your countertop basket, you curled your fingers around one’s shiny red surface and straightened. “What are you betting?”
“Hmmm,” he paused, dark eyes drifting upward in thought, “a massage?”
“So boring! I want you to watch my favorite show with me!”
“All of it?” His eyes widened; his fingers flexed faintly against the counter. “How many seasons is that? Isn’t that a lot for one apple?”
“Alright,” you stepped closer to teasingly nudge him, “fine, first three episodes, then you can bounce.”
“Not that I’ll need to. Begin,” he urges with a grin and a wave of his hand.
Again, you’d seen this done plenty of times. One trick you remembered was to roll your thumbs when you squeezed and twist opposite directions- right? You liked to think if Hongjoong could do it, so could you, not that he wasn’t fit. If you had half the pecs he did-
Snap! Ok, guess it was opposite directions, because with a kickback of your hands you felt the pressure of a tear and saw two distinct halves, one upon each palm. Your smile rose dramatically like The Grinch’s as your gaze slid back up to meet Jongho’s.
“So…wanna make some popcorn?”

It’s Bedtime Pumpkin: Lloyd Hansen x spouse!reader
Warnings: slight angst, y/n subtly not liking coffee, sleep deprivation
Excuse the grammar mistakes, I am very tired but I cannot fall asleep until I write down this idea
Tumblr media
Insomnia was a bitch. Sorry, insomnia was making you it’s bitch. That, and your nightmares kept you from wanting to sleep even if you could.
Usually your husband would be home to wrap you in his arms and protect you from anything that dared disturb your sleep, but he was out on a job, and you didn’t know when he would be back.
So you had been up for a week, it’s not a big deal to you, you had developed a “routine” for when Lloyd wasn’t home, and you had almost perfected it:
1. Kiss Lloyd goodbye and make sure he has extra snacks in his bag just incase
2. Go to work, the busy rush of your job was an easy distraction from your exhaustion
3. Clean and throw yourself into as many jobs as you possibly can, your current hyper fixation should do the trick
4. Lots of sugar and food, eating kept you awake.
Rinse and repeat daily (except for step one of course)
It was unusual for Lloyds job to last more than two or three days, so of course the exhaustion was getting to you, but at this point, you had convinced yourself that sleep was the worst possible option, that it was life threatening. It was getting so hard to stay awake that you were tempted to drink coffee, but alas your distaste for the beverage won, and you were running out of ideas.
Currently it was two in the morning, the house was spotless, all of your work projects for the next two months had been finished hours ago, and you were out of yarn, thread, fabric, flour, chocolate and basically any art or baking supply you could think of so coming up with a fun new craft to be focused on was out of the question.
Now, in a last ditch attempt to stay awake, you were doom scrolling on your phone, from baking compilations to tumbler stories to some of the filthiest smut you could find, you were looking at everything to stay awake.
If Lloyd were here, he would have scolded you for not taking proper care of yourself, telling you that you need to find a way to sleep without him, and (as your therapist does constantly) suggest some form of anti-anxiety medication to help with your fears.
But he wasn’t here. In fact you couldn’t remember the last time you had talked to him, it felt like years although it had probably only been a day or so. You missed him desperately during the times that he was away, but you knew he loved his job so you were happy for him.
You had switched to instagram and were scrolling through reels when you heard some scuffling downstairs by the front door. It was so quiet that if you were asleep, you wouldn’t have heard it, but you of course were not asleep, just halfway delusional from lack thereof. Without thinking, you grabbed your guitar which you had been taking lessons for, and crept out of your room brandishing the instrument like a baseball bat. You got down the stairs and turn the corner only to scream in fright and drop the guitar when you ran straight into your husband.
He in turn, screamed in surprise causing you to jump and fall.
Immediately he had his arms wrapped around you and was holding onto you tightly before you could hit the ground.
You could hear his rich laugh “honey I’m home” he said still laughing while he pulled you up so he could face you. You began laughing too, finding the situation quite comical.
Lloyd checked his watch “why are you up so late pumpkin? Are you ok?” He asked
Just the question sent you into hysterics. From laughing loudly to sobbing, your body crumpled to the floor, relieved that you could finally rest.
“Woah woah woah, what’s going on here pumpkin, hey sweetheart what’s the deal?” Lloyd crouched down to you and you tried to calm down.
“I’m so tired, I’m so so so tired, I just want to sleep, but I couldn’t” his face softened at that, and he easily picked you up off of the floor.
“Come on then, it’s bedtime pumpkin” with that he was carrying you both up the stairs and placed you into your shared bed.
He kissed your hand before he left your embrace for at the most fifteen seconds (the utter betrayal) to strip down to his underwear so he could crawl into bed with you.
Thankful he had chosen to not wear a shirt as he pulled you into his chest, and gave you as much skin to skin contact as he could, you breathed a sigh of relief. His body was radiating warmth and safety. You finally felt like you could relax.
“Are we gonna need to have a talk about your sleeping habits, baby?” Lloyd broke the silence.
“Mmm probably, but can we do it tomorrow, I’m tired, and I missed you so much” you mumbled
He kissed you forehead “sure pumpkin, go to sleep, I’ll be right here when you wake up.”
“Thanks bubba” the soft rhythmic rise and fall of his chest lulled you into a deep peaceful sleep, unknowingly to you, Lloyd was just as tired, and crashed as hard as you did. Neither of you could sleep without the other.
The end.

Under the Third Eye
A while back, I wondered "What would have happened if Koishi had won in SA's extra stage and brought back a pet, like she threatened? How would anyone deal with that?"
Well, here is my answer, in all it's 4681 words of glory. This will be on AO3 once I have an account (T-12 days), but I'm not waiting that long.
Future note: This is now on AO3! Go read it there, the formatting is better.
Authors note
This is my first fanfic, but I have done a reasonable amount of original writing. I hope you enjoy reading this as much as I did writing it. As silly as the premise is, I tried to approach it fairly genuinely, and it ended up being more emotional than I expected going into it. I tried to be fairly faithful to the characters, though some of them haven't been developed much in canon, so I did what I could.
The work is PG-13 overall. In terms of content warnings, the premise is based kidnapping. The only other thing that comes to mind is a brief allusion to self harm, which could be upsetting to some readers.
The formatting is a bit off (non-standard indents mainly) because tumblr, but not too bad as far as I can tell. (the "<>"s are intentional).
Satori stared at the paper in front of her, or rather, she stared through the paper. Do I really have to decide this today? The answer was yes, as it had been 15 minutes ago. That was the trouble with conflict; someone always had to pick up the pieces afterwards. In this case, the trouble was staffing. With so many of her pets having been injured, ensuring Former Hell was properly managed after the incident was quite the balancing act. Things would get easier over the next few days, but that did little to help now.
The door to her study, which was never fully closed, opened wider to allow a two-tailed cat with black-and-red fur to enter. Casually, she made her way to Satori, leaping into her lap and curling up snugly. Satori reached down and stroked the cat absently. She considered asking Orin about her current dilemma. While the cat had a quick wit, especially compared to many of Satori's other pets, she wasn't good at seeing the big picture. Alas, this burden was Satori's alone.
<Koishi's back. She seems to be in a very good mood> Orin thought.
"Oh, did something interesting happen?" Satori asked. Satori's ability to read minds was greatly appreciated by her pets, whatever anyone else thought.
<She didn’t give me much of an answer, but it sounds like she got herself a new pet, from up on the surface.>
Satori continued stroking the cat for a moment, before pausing. Wait, from the surface? She generally liked that her sister took the initiative to acquire new pets from around the underground. After all, everyone needs company, and she often got too caught up in her work to spend time with Koishi. Satori also didn't mind her taking trips to the surface. Her sister was capable of taking care of herself, as much as she worried otherwise, but taking pets from the surface was something she'd had to put a stop to. Too many of them weren't well suited to the subterranean palace and its surroundings, while others would be too sorely missed above, which drew unwanted attention. Koishi had generally heeded this request, so why the sudden change? What exactly had she brought back?
Deciding this was more pressing, and likely more interesting, Satori carefully removed the cat from her lap and headed towards her sister's room. Rin followed close behind.
The pair arrived at Koishi's room, and Satori knocked.
"Come~ in!" Koishi called out in a sing-song voice, a habit that Satori could only assume came from observing people on the surface.
Like most in the palace, Koishi’s room was quite large. It was lit by blue crystals that hung from the ceiling, as well as by a set of windows that let in light from the courtyard beyond. As usual, the room was cluttered. Though some of her pets were tasked with keeping the place tidy, Koishi had a habit of just setting things down on the nearest flat surface when she was done with them. This had more than once led to a rather bemused Orin being placed on a shelf.
Satori was not focusing on the decor however, instead she stopped in the doorway as soon as she saw her sister's newest pet. Rin, seeing an opportunity, ran through the door to Koishi, who immediately broke into a wide grin.
“Orinrin!” she cried, squishing the cat's face in her hands. The cat seemed to enjoy this at least as much as Satori’s more gentle approach.
A few moments later, Satori finally managed to speak, “Koishi, what… how? What did you do?” The cause of her surprise was a girl with dark hair and a large red bow, who was currently asleep in the bed, covered by the duvet. A gohei, a long piece of wood from which hang two zig-zagging paper streamers, was leaning up against the wall nearby. Satori recognized the girl immediately, as she had met, and subsequently fought her earlier that very day.
“Oh, this is Reimu. You know her right?”
Satori nodded weakly as she entered the room. She turned, and carefully closed the door behind her. She took advantage of facing the other way to close her eyes and think. My little sister, whom I love and support, has brought home that damn shrine maiden… as a pet... and I'm the only one with enough sense around here to understand why that's bad… What did I do to deserve this? Resigning herself, she turned back to the rest of the room.
“I ran into her on top of the mountain,”  Koishi continued, beaming.
I could use a little more than that, if I’m being honest. Also, what is that look for? Satori mirrored the smile. It wasn't very convincing, but Koishi was easy to convince. What exactly am I supposed to do about this? I'd considered what to do if it was a human, but not this human. She took a deep breath. Right, process of elimination. Killing her would raise all kinds of hell nowadays. Should I dump her on the surface and hope that’s the end of it? Maybe, though she'd be pissed. Apologize and let her go? Same problem, and she's not exactly the type to wait for explanation anyways.
She had been staring at Koishi this whole time, though the girl was entirely unperturbed. Why does she have that look? Is that... pride? Then, her own words from earlier in the day came back to her: "That girl's power would certainly be useful around here." Damn, is this my fault? Of course Koishi would take that literally; she's Koishi. She thinks this is what I wanted, which would explain the smug look… But wait, she found and defeated Reimu and brought her all the way back here just based on that? That's... a lot for someone who can’t really plan things. What’s gotten into her?
Koishi had turned her attention back to the shrine maiden, who she was staring at with rapt attention.
But... that was the point of the pets, right? To get her to care about others, to get her to take an interest, so that she would...?  Satori realized that she was still holding the fake smile and let it drop. She turned to look at Reimu herself.
Was it just what I’d said earlier, or does Koishi have her own reasons for doing all this? Is there something special about this shrine maiden? Damn, I’d need her awake to figure any of this out. Perhaps dumping her on the surface isn’t so great an idea, as much as it would simplify things. That just leaves talking and... Koishi's plan... if you can call it that. Lovely.
"Koishi, would you mind heading down to the kitchen and helping them get dinner ready?" Satori asked, trying not to sound like how she felt.
"But... I want to stay here... with her!" Koishi said, pointing, as if Satori wasn’t sure who she was talking about..
Satori sighed. "She needs her rest. Besides, I bet she'll be hungry when she wakes up. You remember what I said about feeding your pets, right?" She didn't like being dishonest with her sister, but it was convenient. Koishi paused, then smiled, and nodded. She left the room in a rush. Rin narrowly avoided getting her tail stepped on, then looked to Satori.
<You’ve got a plan?>
“Always,” Satori lied, "now go find where Okuu is napping. I want her in the palace, just in case." In case of what, I don't know, but like it or not, she probably has the best chance against Reimu if things go bad. Well, Koishi actually won, but she’s not exactly reliable. That human may have been the one pushing for non-lethality, but she’s still a human.
With the room now to herself, aside from the slumbering Reimu, Satori sat in the chair and thought. You could have at least waited a day, Koishi.
At last, she reached a decision. The best one, I hope. She focused her third eye on the sleeping figure, peering at her mind. Ah, so Koishi put her under hypnosis. I thought she might still be able to do that, closed eye or no. No matter, it would be easy to undo, at least from the outside.
Not long after, Reimu stirred. <Bwuh..? Where... am I?> she wondered. Reimu sat up slowly, blinking the sleep from her eyes.
"The Palace of the Earth Spirits. Welcome back." Satori replied. Reimu turned and stared, all traces of drowsiness evaporating. She leapt from the bed, reached into her sleeve and pulled out several paper talismans. With her other hand, she grabbed Satori by the collar and lifted her into the air.
"Your sister kidnapped me!" Reimu shouted, "Don't give me a 'welcome back'! Where is the brat!?"
Satori dangled limply in Reimu's grip. "Seems you lost fair and square, shrine maiden. Don’t be a sore loser.” She paused as it looked like Reimu might throw her. “As Master of this palace, I wouldn't mind a rematch though. I'd even let you go free, if you won."
Reimu’s brow furrowed. "And what’s your stake?" <Wait, she's challenging me? She didn't put up too much fight last time, but my body hurts like hell, and she seems more confident than ever.>
"Expecting to lose?" Satori asked, smirking slightly. "I’d just want you to do me a favor for me. I’m not sure your human body would withstand it, but there’s no reward without some risk."
<What’s this girl’s problem?> "Fine, I'll fight you again," Reimu said, releasing the girl, who fell backwards, taking the chair with her. <I thought she'd at least catch herself. Oh well, she deserves it.>
Satori got back on her feet. If she was upset at Reimu's roughness, she didn't let it show. "Let's go out to the courtyard. The flames from below will serve as an excellent backdrop."
The Palace of Earth Spirit’s central courtyard was quite magnificent. Windows looked down on it from all sides, many of them stained glass, depicting scenes of both the underworld and the world above. There was a garden lining the outer edge of the courtyard. It contained plants rarely seen on the surface, as well as a number of fruit trees. The source of their energy seems to be the large vent which dominated the space. It led down into the underworld’s flaming depths. Great mechanical shutters allowed the upward flow of heat to be regulated. At present, the shutters were three-quarters closed. Even this small opening allowed enough light from below to fill the courtyard and a pillar of hot air, traced with wispy flames, to ascend towards the surface.
The two combatants took their places to one side of this vent. They stood forty feet from each other, Reimu armed with the tools of her trade and Satori with nothing but her mind.
"Ready?" asked Reimu. She had her usual look of determination, now tempered by anger.
"Ready," replied Satori, calm as ever. The two rose a few feet into the air, then Reimu launched forwards, wasting little time.
"I forfeit," called out Satori, dropping back to the warm stone of the courtyard.
<I've got her- > "WHAT?" Reimu staggered midair, trying to slow her momentum. She came to a skidding stop directly in front of her opponent. "What do you mean you forfeit? We hadn't even started. You can't do that!"
Satori stared at her coldly. "It means you’ve won. That's what you wanted, so why are you complaining?"
"I want to fight you! You think you're so high-and-mighty, and now you've got and forfeited!?"
"I said it before, but I'm not fond of violence."
"You're just a coward! Too scared to face me again."
"I have more important things to worry about than your ego. If you want to sait your oni-like thirst for violence, I'm sure Okuu over there would be happy to oblige." Indeed, the hell raven was sitting on the inner edge of the vent, oblivious of the heat. She was gazing into the depths below and swinging her feet through the fiery air. The right one, weighed down by its rocky exterior, swung out of time with the left.
Reimu’s tirade derails slightly. <I beat her earlier, but it was kinda close. Somehow I doubt she's as tired and worn as I am. Damn.> "You’re the one who said we should fight in the first place. What was about that favor? Giving up on that so easily?"
"Were it just me here, perhaps I would fight for it. But I don't need any more damage to my palace or my pets right now," Satori replied. "If you must know, I was going to ask to have you for dinner-"
"YOU WERE GOING TO EAT ME?!" Reimu shouted, anger reigniting. Satori stared, eyes-wide for a moment, then began to laugh. It started out as a chuckle, but rapidly became uncontrollable. The girl bent double, holding her knees. Although laughter is rarely considered a skill, Satori was bad at it. The sounds coming from her were fitting for Former Hell. Even Okuu looked over at the commotion.
<What on earth... what's funny about this?> Reimu thought. There was another thought, too quiet for either of them to fully notice: <she look so different when she laughs.>
"As a guest, Reimu," Satori managed to get out at last, "not an entrée. Oh my word." She pulled herself upright and wiped a mirthful tear from her eye. "My sister and I aren't much for eating people."
<...and your pets?> "Ah, I… I see. I guess that's a relief,” Reimu said, uncertainty entering her voice for the first time since woken up.<Where the hell do I go from here?> “But uh, you said the favor would 'push my body to its limit', so I got the wrong idea, I guess. What exactly did you mean by that?"
"Well... we have some sake that we sto- acquired from the oni and it's been kinda in the way lately. If you wouldn't mind drinking some of..."
"You stole sake from the oni? You?" <They'd rip you to shreds.>
"Well, Koishi did. I ask her not to steal, but I figure the oni are fair game," Satori explained, ignoring Reimu's afterthought. “We’re not heavy drinkers, so I figured you might be able to stomach some of it?”
Reimu took a moment and pretended to consider the offer. <Is this girl OK? Her loss I guess.> She stood a bit taller as she spoke, "As a show of uh, goodwill, I would be willing to relieve you of your sake. After all, if the oni found out you had it, I'm sure they'd cause you no end of trouble. Best I drink it instead, to be safe."
"Ah, what a good idea. How very… selfless of you." This girl's mind is like a lock; you find the right key and the whole thing flops open. Not sure why she's talking like that though… Is it some lingering effect of Koishi’s hypnosis or the fumes? Oh well.
For dinner, they were joined by Koishi, who was overjoyed to see Reimu again, as well as Okuu and Orin. The two sisters sat on one side of the table, while the three pets sat on the other. Okuu and Orin started devouring some eggs and pieces of raw meat, which Reimu tried not to look at too closely. The other’s had more ordinary fare.
<Maybe this was a bad idea… At least the two idiots aren’t staring at me.>
"Koishi, do you have something to say to Miss Hakurei?"
The younger sister hesitated a moment before speaking, “I’m sorry for attacking and kidnapping you.” She put on an almost theatrical expression of remorse.
<She says it so bluntly> “I… appreciate the apology. I didn’t mind fighting you, just… don’t knock me out afterwards, alright? It’s kind of a d- not nice thing to do. It also causes trouble for your sister.” Koishi nodded at this, looking serious, then went back to her food, smiling to herself. Trouble indeed, mused Satori, though you're not one to talk, Reimu.
“Say Koishi, do you spend a lot of time on the surface?” Reimu asked, “I’m surprised you were able to find your way to the Moriya Shrine all by yourself.”
“Oh, I do! I like to see what people are up to and hear what they are talking about. I travel all over the place.”
<You’re ok with this?>  Reimu thought.
Satori shrugged. “I couldn’t stop her if I wanted to, so she’s generally free to explore. Besides,” Satori said, smiling slightly, “she can hold her own.”
<You’re pretty smug for someone who lost. Twice>
“You should come down here again sometime so we can fight again! It was really fun!”
<Yeah, but this place kinda sucks.>
“I’m sure Reimu is plenty busy with her shrine,” Satori explained, aiming a dirty look at Reimu.
“Shrine?”
“Of course. It’s easy to forget, but Reimu is a shrine maiden. She looks after the Hakurei Shrine, near the human village.”
“Oh, that place!”
“Have you… been there?” Reimu asked, returning the look.
Koishi nodded. “I followed some kids up from the village. There were a lot of people and stalls. I got this!” she said, reaching into her pocket and pulling out a small charm, on which was written “bullet evasion” in familiar handwriting.
<Ah... Wait, she goes to the village too?>
“And by ‘got’, do you mean ‘stole’? I’ve told you about taking things without permission. People might not notice you, but they notice when things go missing.”
Koishi nodded, though she didn’t look very apologetic.
“Next time you’re in the area, you can visit the shrine and pay me back. I can even give you a tour.”
Koishi’s eyes lit up. “Really? I’ll come by tomorrow!”
<Great, I was hoping to take the day off, maybe try out the new hot springs…>
“I’m sure Reimu will be very busy dealing with the aftermath of the incident. Best let her work on that first.”
<That mind reading is not so bad when she’s trying to help you. Still creepy.>
The conversation quieted down from here, with everyone focusing on the food.
<When’s the right time to ask about the sake? Getting kinda thirsty here…> Satori reached under her chair and pulled out a large jug, placing it on the table.
I meant to get it out at the start, whoops.
As dinner started to slow, Koishi spoke up, “Can you tell me more about your fights earlier? Satori kinda made them sound boring, but I want to hear from you.”
“I’m sure she did. Alright, it started with me heading into a cave…” Reimu then recounted her earlier adventures. Satori interrupted occasionally, cutting through some of Reimu’s boldest exaggerations, though Koishi didn’t seem to care much whether a given detail was true or not.
At last, once they had finished, Koishi gave a round of applause. “Wow, that’s quite the story. It’s way cooler than my sister's version,” Koishi said, beaming at Reimu. “But how did this all this start? Seems you just kinda wandered into things. Like me!”
All eyes turned to Okuu, who continued eating eggs, before noticing the sudden attention.
“Huh? Uh dor rea oh,” she tried, before swallowing, “I don’t really know. There was some woman who wanted the strongest bird, then I felt real weird, then I had all this power. I’m not really complaining, to be honest.”
“We think the Moriya Shrine is involved, but I wasn’t able to ask because you attacked me,” Reimu explained, looking pointedly at Koishi.
“Ehehe…whoops. I said I was sorry...”
“Alright, I think that’s enough for dinner. If Okuu eats any more eggs she’s going to be sick. Besides, you should get to bed Koishi.” Then, as Koishi moved to protest, “You can see Reimu off in the morning.”
<Morning?>
“What, were you planning on going through Oni territory and half of Gensokyo in your state? In the dark, no less?”
“How ca-”
“We have clocks, you know.”
<Ah.>
Koishi left, but not before giving Reimu a hug. After she was gone, Satori walked to the other side of the table. Okuu and Orin stood, and their master addressed them in turn.
“Okuu… it’s good to have you back. I know things are a bit… complicated, but I’m sure we’ll manage.” She reached out and patted the girl’s head.
“Orin, you did well today. Thank you,” she said, kissing the Kasha on the forehead. “You pets don’t have to tackle things by yourselves, you know. I won’t be mad if you need help.”
With the cat and raven gone, Satori returned to her seat.
<You really care for them.>
“Of course. Aside from my sister, my pets are all I have.”
<I mean, the palace…>
“Few places are as lonely as an empty palace, Reimu.” There was a pained note in her voice that Reimu hadn’t heard before. There was a heavy silence for a moment, then Satori grabbed a cup and poured herself some of the sake. When she continued, her voice had returned to its usual tones.
“I’m not typically one for strong alcohol, but I should probably taste some before you finish it off.”
“Wait, you made it sound like you had a whole bunch.”
“I lied, of course. It’s almost as useful as mind reading.” Reimu considered this for a moment and Satori elected to let her finish this time.
“What is this all about?” Reimu asked, gesturing broadly.
“‘This’?”
“You know what I mean. First I think you’re trying to keep me here as a pet, then you’re asking me to leave, then you're getting me drunk and telling me to stay the night. Why can’t you just say what you actually want?”
Satori sipped her sake a moment before speaking. “‘Just tell me the truth’ is something often said by people who are bad at accepting it, but very well. The truth is that I don’t really like you Reimu.” She held up a finger, forestalling Reimu’s interruption “I don’t mean that as a personal slight. I can see why people put up with you.”
<Gee, thanks.>
“That being said, mind reading isn’t like reading a book; it’s more like listening. Some thoughts are easy to ignore, while others… aren’t. Emotional thoughts are by far the loudest and you…” Satori continued, “...are a person driven by emotion. Again, that’s not an insult; I think it’s probably what makes you so good at what you do, but it does make being near you… challenging.”
“So then why get me to stick around?”
Satori sighed, looking into her cup. “Koishi, really. She’s a bit obsessed with you. I gave my sister pets in the hopes they would help her like they helped me. I needed quiet, simple companionship, but my sister and I aren’t very alike. Or at least, not anymore…” Satori seemed to lose herself in thought for a moment, before continuing. “But she seems fascinated by you, more so than by any pet I’ve given her. Perhaps your thoughts are loud enough to reach even her, or perhaps she just finds you worth listening to.”
Two sat in silence, the words hanging in the air “Are you… trying to get her to open her third eye?”
“Yes.”
“Why? She seems happy as she is.”
“How would we even know? She closed it because she felt that the world, or rather, other people had little to offer her. When your ears only hear hatred, your eyes only see fear, it can be tempting to get rid of them.  I want her to hear and see beautiful things, to find value in others.”
<Have you considered doing this? Oh, I didn’t mean...>
“Of course I have. Things were... bad, but I remembered when we were young. Satori are social creatures; being able to communicate so directly is an incredible thing. I’m not sure a human could really get it, but I want that back…” Silence fell over the table, again.
“Why not explain all this from the start?”
“You wouldn’t have listened, that’s not who you are. So I tricked you. Figured you wouldn’t turn down a challenge. Worst case you at least got out of my hair.. Don’t look so upset, you got Oni sake out of it, after all.”
<Don’t treat me like one of your pets.>
Reimu yawned. “Well, I’m not sure how much I can help, but I suppose if she wants to come visit, I don’t mind. Not that I could stop her anyways…” <I don’t really want another mind readers about, but…man>
“I appreciate that,” Satori said, getting to her feet, a little unsteady. “Best we both get off to bed before this stuff hits us too hard.” She waved the now empty jug.
“I suppose so. Oh, and thanks for stopping Koishi from making me her pet”
“I’m sorry?” Both girls stared at each other, blankly.
“You… you told Koishi she can’t have me as a pet, right? Like, she understands that, right?”
“I just told her that it’s not really a pet if they run and don’t come back. That seemed to satisfy her.”
<ah.>
The next morning, the two sisters saw Reimu off. Koishi was a little upset, but it didn’t last once the prospect of a shrine tour was brought up again. The great doors of the Palace of the Earth Spirits closed with a thud. The two sisters stood in the lingering silence.
<I can’t wait!>  The voice was quiet, but Satori loved it all the same.
Epilogue
In the end, Reimu’s visit actually ended up helping Satori with her decision. She elected to grant her pets a holiday, as reward for their hard work. It would create problems later, but such was life. It also gave her a chance to take care of another matter.
Aya Shameimaru worked away at her typewriter. This edition had gotten quite large, what with all the events of the last day. Even this morning there had been critical updates that just couldn’t be left out. This was looking to be one of the best editions of  Bunbunmaru Newspaper in years!
She heard the door to the office open and called out, “Yeah, just leave it on the table. I’ll get to it in a minute.”
“I’m… not here with your lunch,” said a voice. It wasn’t a tengu’s. Aya turned to see Satori, standing right next to her.
“Ay!” she cried, nearly falling out of her chair, “I ah, I don’t s-suppose you’re here for an-an interview?” she said, a look of almost manic hope on her face. <Ayayaya…>
“Not quite. I was curious what you had written in your paper there.”
<Well all kinds of things, about the incident, the palace and it’s master, about her mysterious sister and how she kidnapped Reimu and how Reimu just walked away the next morning all embarrassed and oh how do I stop thinking!>
“Alright! That’s enough,” Satori interrupted, closing her eyes. Damn tengu. “I don’t mind you writing about the incident, but leave my sister out of this.”
“But…” Aya stalled a moment, then recovered her usual tenacity, “your sister poses a real threat to Gensokyo. It’s my duty as a reporter to infor…”
“You want to talk threats?” Satori asked.
<aayyaa.> ”Y-you can’t threaten me! We’re surrounded by tengu! You’d b-be in real trouble!”
“Yes, but that doesn’t help you much, does it? But I’m not going to hurt you. I’m not fond of violence. Instead, my threat is this: If you write about Reimu losing to my sister, or her disappearance, I will end your newspaper. Not by force, but by making my own paper. Do you think you can compete with a mind reader? One who can pull out even your secrets?”
<N-no.>
“Then we don’t have a problem. Pleasure doing business with you.” Whoever decided to make tengu smarter than birds should try talking to one for 5 minutes.

Matchup Trade for my favourite person ever, @fourtyfourcatss !
↳ you have been placed in the cabin of the triple goddess — the mistress of magic and tricks and of the hidden art
Tumblr media
¡! ❞ cabin 20 ¡! ❞
ஓ๑ why hecate? The main reason I opted to choose the goddess of magic for you was your personality. you’re analytical yet creative — a sense of not following a certain frame but rather following the flow of life and whatever comes at you — focusing on the big picture of upcoming events but not ignoring smaller ones. Your hubris and ambition is quite a noticeable detail about you, along with your inner lingering fear of disappointment and isolation, so it’s a trait that I personally think would meddle with your demigod life. As for Enyo, there had been a debate between her and athena. this was due to your level headed and analytical demeanour but enyo had seemed to be more of your fit. your pride doesn’t necessarily come from anywhere like that of an athena child, but rather of how you grew up. i’m not entirely sure how to express it but it’s those points in matchups when you are so certain about things but never know how to explain them. from there was a compition of figuring out who becomes a parental figure in your life and alas, hecate won.
ஓ๑ hecate deeply cares for all her kids but you hold an even special place in heart, that is if gods even have hearts? This comes from how similar you are to her in nature and how you think. she thoroughly understands the grudge you had held against her, you simply wanted to look out for your siblings and were upset that she paid no attention to them
ஓ๑ but nonetheless, that doesn’t mean she is a strict parent. hecate expects the best of her children and will assist them throughout their struggles to help you succeed. she is desperate to show that she is a responsible figure, someone you can lay your trust in and look up to as a motherly figure.
ஓ๑ though hecate never had a cabin and you never had the best relationship with your absent mother, you fought and insisted to Chiron on how your mother deserved a cabin of her own. In return, Hecate appointed you as camp leader and it was a perfect fit! You were a responsible, creative, intelligent and valued family above anything else. Plus, almost every camper looked up to you as an older figure despite your choice on the war which I will discuss later
ஓ๑ your fatal flaw defect is deliberation. Your opinionated nature and fear of risking the safety of your family causes you to be deliberate about many situations which can change huge factors in your life.
intelligence, honesty, quick wit, selflessness, willingness to hear others, analytical, creativity, and flexibility are all strengths.
weaknesses include being proud, opinionated, refusing to be lower, poking in unwanted business, and being a talented burnt out child ( i have no idea but you certainly give that vibe to me? do correct me if i’m wrong and ignore the last part then)
Being alone, not being enough, hearing your wrong are all fears.
powers include the ability to control every aspect of magic, have control over the mist, shadow travel, create potions, speak to animals under your mother’s domain, hand your own strength over to others and to quickly learn any weapon while coming up with a strategy. These are actually just a few examples because with magic, almost anything can be accomplished but it is extremely power draining.
ஓ๑ weapons: a bow and arrow. not only does this prevent you from being hurt, as you don’t need fight in the front, but this is a weapon that can quickly end an enemy if put to proper and analytical use (which so happens to be one of your many strengths) your swordsman skills aren’t necessarily bad but there have certainly been more experienced soldiers. to use one properly, you have to analyse the situation you are dealing with and hyper fixate on a certain section of the opponent’s body to strike. and with your great intuition, you land almost every shot in the exact place you had planned. Because of this skill, many had thought you were to be a child of Apollo but once showing some signs of magic, that theory was quickly changed but everyone was so confused on how long it took you to get claimed….
ஓ๑ claiming: you came a year after percy jackson did, but are the same age as him.  you’re claiming ... don’t get pissed at me or anything, but i have a strong feeling you didn’t get claimed. Despite that, literally everyone in the camp knew that you were a child of hecate so it really did puzzle everyone as to why you weren’t claimed. this caused a huge inner turmoil for you since you knew you belonged to a family, but at the same time you really didn’t have anyone besides a cabin full of unclaimed kids and children with huge stealing issues (ahem ahem cabin 11). there was still a problem tho, hecate didn’t have a cabin and she hadnt’t claim you due to how campers treat children whose parentage originated from the underworld (the last part had been unknown to you, so you had held a grudge at your mother for years)— but at last, at fucking last, you got claimed after the whole war was over. it was a bittersweet thing for you though, since you felt pissed that hecate hadn’t voluntarily claimed you, but rather did so because of percy who had wished that all children must get claimed at the age of 13 and you had been no exception.
a little drabble:
It should have been an honour to Quasar to be still alive but why was she? Almost everyone of her siblings had been slain in the war for a choice they had made to get the honour they deserved and to stand by their mother’s side. Quasar didn’t agree much with the latter. She had just wanted her siblings to be safe and she would have done, no matter what the consequences may have been. But here she was, standing in front of the Olympian Gods as they held their shitty heads up high, discussing whether Quasar and her brother should even live. But after your mother had begged the Gods, emerald eyes nearly blood shot at the thought of losing two of her precious children. Quasar could feel the eyes of Gods looking down at her and everything felt too much. Alabaster gave her a tight smile and nod, telling her it would be ok. Alas the decision had been made. And it was ruled stupid in her eyes. She and Alabaster were to live but Alabaster wasn’t allowed in Camp. While Quasar had doubts in what she had been doing, Alabaster is still willing to do that and holds a grudge against the son of Poseidon. The sea god feared that the emerald eye boy would kill his only son. Upon hearing that, Quasad looked devastated and was about to speak up until Alabaster shook his head beside her and accepted the deal. All for her... When Alabaster, Quasar and her mother were allowed to leave, the second Hecate shut the door behind them, Quasar felt tears stinging her eyes. But she refused to cry. Not here. Not now. Not ever. Especially after what Alabaster chose to do. So when Hecate held her children tight in her arms, placing a soft kiss on each one of their heads, she promised she would claim Quasar the second she placed a step in Camp Half Blood. And Hecate lived up to her promise. The second Quasar was in the sight of everyone else, a faint green glow surrounded her and the claiming took place. Chiron took a step forward, bowing his head in respect as he announced the obvious to everyone else: “Hail, Quasar Xing, Daughter of the Magic Goddess”
(Excuse the shitty drabble, my head is functioning at the moment)
ஓ๑ You were a traitor, part of kronos’s army. The thing is, if you really believed in your ideals wholeheartedly, with full confidence that the world would be better off without both the gods and kronos, you would’ve done everything in your power to make it true. As black and white as you present yourself to be, you're more contradictory than everyone gives credit for. You only work towards a plan with full length ambition when you see a future for it, but you clearly didn’t see any futuristic outcome for this plan so at the end of the day, you were human through and through. And if anyone knows you well enough, would know the reason for your actions. You didn’t care much for supporting your mother but rather assuring the safety of your siblings. And how would you have been able to do it if you were supporting the opposing side? Exactly. Plus, no one would have suspected you.
ஓ๑ Many campers in Camp Half Blood come to you. It is either because they wish to seek out your opinion in certain life decisions or because of how safe you make everyone else feel. You had this magical nature to make people feel at home. This probably ranges from how observant you are about others (which helps you to know them more and once you point out small things, they feel valued) or how much you want to help others and encourage them at point.
ஓ๑ You and your brother were inseparable. You loved him and he loved you. Two sides of the same coin. The two of you were always found somewhere together and when he had died during the war, you were broken. Heart shattered and blood shot eyes, your vision always blurry. How could you live in camp, while he was dead? You had even considered doing what Orpheus had done once and attempting to bribe Hades somehow but in reality, what were the chances of that succeeding? So when newcomers had been placed in the Hecate cabin, you took it upon yourself to protect them at all cost.
ஓ๑ Sometimes, just sometimes, Chiron grants you permission to teach another camper’s class for a day. The truth was, you didn’t really have anything to teach or have your own class until Lou Ellen suggested a class where demigods learned how to control the mist? I mean, it is possible for that to happen. Thalia was able to do that and so was Percy. All it takes is good practice and someone who is good at explaining things. And that someone is you! Who else would be better? In addition, you were the only camper in the  Hecate Cabin who has been here for over 3 years.
ஓ๑ I couldn’t continue this matchup if I didn’t include Leo Valdez. Despite being well aware of your past, he lets it go - seeing only the best of your heart and your truest intentions. He is absolutely in love with you. As you would carry away with your conversation ever so passionately and walking quickly, he would stay silent for once and stare at the beautiful girl in front of him. Lou Ellen had definitely realised that even before you had. She would always tease you about it until your face had turned crimson. Little sister behaviour <3
ஓ๑ But asides Leo, Lou Ellen is one of your closest relationships. She seems to always know how you feel, a telepathic connection almost. She would sit close to you as the two of you giggled over something Leo did or cry over the death of your siblings. Through thick and thin, she remained close by your side.

It's two days into the summer break and I'm already going through vroom vroom withdrawals, so I re-read Seven Years then decided to nitpick season 5 of DTS. Seven Years is so stuck in my head (especially with last weekend's ass grab) that I started to wonder how Christian and Toto's relationship would affect DTS. Would there be a full episode about their relationship? Would they be more included in each other's episodes? Would Netflix try to get footage of the two acting like a couple? The only guarantee is that Tumblr would be analysis every interaction between the two because we already do that.
Also, I use Microsoft Edge over google so I thought you might find this funny.
Tumblr media
The first thing they list is that he is a racing driver, not a successful team principal, a racing driver. :p
ohhh this is such an interesting take!
personally i didn’t make dts a thing in seven years because i just didn’t want to deal with the mess of it. it adds a whole other layer of emotional clusterfucks of being exposed to the wider public (outside of the f1 bubble even), even more cameras following them around the paddock, mic-ed up 24/7. there is a snippet i started writing after the whole “change your fucking car” business that i couldn’t even finish because the whole thing was so messy and i could not come up with a proper way to solve this because i was so embarrassed for them lmao.
but let’s walk for a second. let’s say their involuntary outing happens and dts are around for it all, i do think netflix would be a perfect vessel to promote lgbtq+ visibility and rights in motorsports and both pr teams would jump at the chance. obviously an outing like this is a huge fuck up marketing wise, nothing was planned, no one was prepared for it so they’d need to act quick and with netflix around, they’d have the perfect opportunity to angle the narrative any way they want. plus for netflix it would obviously mean Millions. everyone and their mother would watch the new season.
not sure they’d have a full episode. don’t think christian or toto would agree to this during some of the worst moments of their lives lol and in seven years i tried my best to not glorify or romanticise a shitty situation like being outed by someone else against your will. but i do think they’d both still want to be on dts, they enjoy the spotlight and the attention too much. in my mind they’d both show up to their netflix interviews smirking, a little ala “look at you and your lil cameras, i had a secret you couldn’t even imagine being true, you only know the things i choose to tell you, i’m in charge here”. to me that’s kind of a power move. i also think certain questions would simply be blacklisted so all we’d get would be ambiguous layered eye-twinkling comments about the rival team principal while touching their wedding rings. “oh toto slammed that desk *eye roll* yeah he’s so emotional *smirk*” or “christian has a big mouth, don’t believe everything he says, i don’t” or “singapore last year? yeah i think…. i think we won. did we? can’t remember, i was a little busy” but they don’t ever talk about singapore directly.
post outing i don’t think we’d get much husband material on dts. i tried very hard to write them as being private about their relationship and i still think that rings true, even post outing. there were instances where i thought it’d be significant and meaningful to them as a couple to show their support for each other a little more publicly (or maybe just a little less secretively) but those moments were about them more so than an act for the public or the cameras. in my mind they wouldn’t walk hand in hand through the paddock just because they can, not mid season on a thursday morning anyway. they’re professionals and they’re at work. but it’s a different thing when a netflix camera zooms in on them through a window and they’re having a quiet lunch tucked away in some corner of rb hospitality, or a brush of hands or a discreet smile when they pass each other somewhere and a camera is around to pick up on it.
so that’s my take! the most interesting angle to me though is how the public perception suddenly changes from seeing them as individuals to seeing them as a unit. it rewires your brain from “oh these two are fun, they hate each other” to “oh these two….. don’t hate each other. in actuality they…. they seem to love each other enough to be…. husbands. huh”

All that matters is the present.
here, short lil thing I made this after reading the golden cat of sumeru, so that’s where Kaveh’s scar is from! Enjoy!
Out of all the people Tighnari expected to be outside his door first thing in the morning, Cyno was not one of them. Cyno stood there, panting, meeting his gaze and happily sighing “Nari..!” He said, out of breath. “Cyno? Why.. are you out of breath, and wh-“ Tighnari paused. “Cyno- what have I told you about going barefoot in the forest, you could get so many skin eating parasites, idiot!” Tighnari snapped, slapping him across the face before bringing his gloved hand to his nose bridge. “So, why pray-tell are you in front of my door at the crack of dawn?” Cyno just grinned with that goofy grin of his, it was hard to believe this is who led Sumeru city to war, but alas, it was. “I won,” Cyno bragged, except, Tighnari had absolutely no idea what he was talking about. The general quickly noticed though as he cleared his throat and continued. “The bet.. with Kaveh and Alhaitham.” Cyno leaned against the door with a smirk. “So, you owe me 100 mora,” Cyno held out his hand, “Cough it up,” Tighnari dragged his hands down his ears, once his ears had sprung up he had already given Cyno the mora. “And why was this such a big deal? You’re the general, you should have enough mora,” Cyno chuckled, grabbing Tighnari’s hands in his own, smile widening, “You need to see how they act around each other now!” He practically dragged Tighnari through the forest, Tighnari all but sighing the entire way. “I can walk Cyno-!” He groans. After awkward silences and some horrible jokes they make it to sumeru city, quickly spotting Kaveh and l Alhaitham near the front entrance, and archons, Tighnari new that Cyno had won the bet, which meant Kaveh and Alhaitham were together, but he never expected them to be so.. open about it. Alhaitham was holding Kaveh’s lower back and waist, Kaveh’s legs wrapped around Alhaitham’s waist as he had his arms loosely wrapped around Alhaitham’s shoulders. “Oh my Archon…” Tighnari gaped, they were both smiling, Kaveh’s face was red and flushed while Alhaitham looked more content and loving. Something caught Tighnari’s attention though, the scar, from just a couple weeks ago, he felt so bad for Kaveh.. but he was happy now, they were happy now, and Cyno and Tighnari were happy now, that’s all that mattered to him, the present.

My experience (& review of) Pokemon Crystal
As part of the entire gimmick of this page, I am replaying and ranking the pokemon games in order.
Due to my experience with pokemon mystery dungeon and also adversity to the other 2 choices, I went for the only reasonable option of Totodile. The naming scheme is pizza ingredients this time, so I named it "Pepperoni". I then did the Mr. Pokemon stuff and immediately caught a zubat, naming it "Sausage".
After some grinding I ended up in Violet City. Because of this, I trespassed into Bellsprout Tower. Zubat in hand, I sucked off a whole lot of bellsprout. Alas, I didn't have a big enough PP to suck them all off, so I had to go back to the pokemon center numerous times.
After successfully sucking off all of the bellsprout in the building, I decided to grind my zubat to lvl 12 (when it learns a move that isnt leech life) and challenge Falkner's gym. In the process of getting my zubat to a reasonable level, I also got my totodile to lvl 13, when it learns water gun. And let's just say… I didn't realize his ace was lvl 9. I won't blame the game for this because it was entirely my fault for not looking at the gym leader's levels. It was an easy win.
After that, I did the ruins of alph puzzle, saw some cool unown, and ended up back in violet city. I went through the cave, caught a geodude (who i named cheese), did the team fodder slowpoke quest, and entered the gym. Bugsy is really no different from a fodder trainer so I swept him with my geodude. Silver used a mix of good flinch rng and an unusually tanky lvl 14 zubat to give me some trouble so I ended up losing, but I won on the 2nd try.
Afterwards, I ended up in the ibex forest. which has lvl 5 pokemon. I'm once again starting to see why I hate gen 2 so much. I found a level 5 oddish and I'm willing to bring back the time honored tradition of having an oddish that knows cut. This time I'll actually use it though because this game probably won't be as easy as red and blue. I named it pineapple.
I reached goldenrod city. the home of whitney's infamous miltank that really isnt even that difficult. I went to route 35 to grind up my team to lvl 19/20. It was here my totodile evolved into croconaw. As for the whitney fight? As I said earlier, She was pretty easy. It's questionable how she has a reputation for being so difficult when all you need is anything that resists rollout/stomp (eg. any rock type) to win. I spent quite a bit wandering around aimlessly all confused before I realized I needed to talk to her again to get the badge because she's too busy crying about it. Amazing.
After obtaining the squirt bottle, I headed to route 26 to beat the shit out of a tree. I wanted to catch it but the geodude I have is already a rock type and I don't need two rock types.
I ended up in ecruteak city, one gym leader until the game truly opens up into the worst nonlinear experience of all time. I beat all 5 kimono girls because geodude is comically overpowered and shouldnt get magnitude as early as she does. Before fighting Morty, I decided to grind my team to around lvl 22-23. Why? because zubat evolves into golbat at that level and my zubat has bite to deal super effective damage. Though Morty's team consists of exclusively poison types and gen 2 was before the era of levitate, so i could probably sweep with geodude, I want to have a bit of fun with this gym.
I enter the burnt down tower in ecruteak and face my rival, silver, who I've affectionately named "Fuckwit". It was about the furthest you could get from a difficult fight because I have a golbat and he has a team that's very weak to golbat. The magnemite isnt an issue so long as I remember that I have a ground type. I then proceeded to fall and break both of my legs on the way down. I also met some cool dogs.
I enter morty's gym. It seems that he was taking notes from gen 1's gym leaders because he was a disgustingly easy fight. Literal clean sweep with golbat. Horrible gym leader. And to think that this guy is the 4th gym leader? that this guy is the halfway point for the Johto region? shameful.
Before leaving ecruteak, I got my surf HM and taught it to my croconaw for a powerful stab move (and the ability to reach the 5th gym leader, RNG god Chuck. After reaching olivine, I healed my pokemon, checked out the sick pokemon lighthouse (where my oddish evolved into gloom and geodude into graveler), and then once again began a voyage, setting sail to Chuck's RNG island for medicine and also the privilege of fighting a guy who spams hypnosis. I then had to go back to olivine city because the HMs are hidden in random ass spots in Johto. After that, I cleanly swept Chuck with my golbat, not taking a single hit of damage. This is because he did not have good rng. This gym sucked.
After my beautiful encounter with the divine goddess of luck, I fed the sick ampharos an unknown concoction and fought jasmine. Her ace was actually hard to beat. Certainly a hard fight, which is a pleasant surprise for a game as easy as this. I ended up losing the first try after her ace oneshot the only pokemon I had that was capable of taking care of a magnemite. Some lucky crit RNG made the 2nd try a breeze though.
I then proceeded to enter Mt. Mortar, AKA random encounter hell. In random encounter hell, my Golbat finally evolved into a Crobat, marking the first time i've ever used crobat in a pokemon game.
Afterwards, I entered Mahogany Town, home of the worst gym leader in Johto. A gym leader who's highest level pokemon is 4 levels lower than the previous gym leader's highest level pokemon. On my way to the lake of rage, I encountered Entei, who broke out of my balls and fled. Unfortunate but I probably wouldn't have used it anyways.
I then proceeded to the lake of rage with one goal in mind: kill the red gyarados :3. In fulfilling this goal, I have killed the red gyarados. I already have croconaw I don't need another physical water type with good all around stats. After meeting with lance, I went to the team fodder emporium to dispose of more lvl 16 zubats and grimers 6 badges into the game. Truly wonderful game design. This is actually where I dropped HGSS at when I first played it. Every time you pass a statue you have to fight 2-3 rocket grunts, each of which having about half a team of pokemon who are way lower level than they should be. Had it not been for god's gift of emulator speedup this game would be completely fucking unplayable. As much as I love lance this is easily the worst section of the game so far.
After going through team fodder hell, I was finally able to challenge the easiest gym in the game. My team has a poor matchup to ice though, with 3/4ths of them being weak to ice. This gym was actually decently difficult for me because of my team's poor matchup, but it still only took me 1 try. After the gym, my croconaw evolved into a feraligatr.
After this, I went to the ice cave. My goal? to catch a jynx. I want an ice type and I want a psychic type and I haven't used jynx before. Alas, it was nighttime so I got a sneasel instead. I don't mind using a sneasel, but the issue is that ice and dark are both special types. and sneasel has pitiful special attack. so I had to pass on both the jynx and sneasel. I still wanted a 5th team member, But I wasnt sure what I wanted.
It was at this point I realized I do not have the HM for fly. So I had to backtrack all the way to cianwood for the HM so I could teach it to my crobat.
I flew back to blackthorne only to realize I still need to defeat team rocket. Which is confusing because I thought I had already did that. But I had managed to completely miss wherever it was said that team rocket would be in the goldenrod radio tower. It's not the game's fault but I felt like I had to mention it.
I notice this random rocket executive has 6 pokemon. This is notable because no other trainer has had 6 pokemon yet, not even the gym leaders. However, the pokemon are all koffings, which is a shame. I was hoping for at least a semi-interesting fight.
I made my way to the underground area. This silver fight has 5 pokemon but one of them is a lvl 28 magnemite and another one is a sneasel. Thus, this silver fight was a major pushover. I like silver's character arc but there's been no story apart from it and a bunch of team fodder fights. This switch puzzle is unnecessarily complicated and confusing, and It's making this area feel more like a puzzle game than a pokemon game. Especially considering all the trainers in this area are terrible jokes.
I made my way to floor 3f of the radio tower to hopefully cap off the single most mind numbingly boring part of this game. I got swept by the last trainer because I got really shitty paralyze RNG because my crobat was paralyzed earlier so I had to do the fight again. Because I did the fight again I oneshot all 3 of his pokemon with my feraligatr's surf. Moving on.
I headed to Blackthorn to fight 3 dragonair clair because they couldnt bother giving the last gym leader anything interesting. The gym puzzle was one of the cooler ones, i'll admit. However, I literally just led crobat and did nothing but spam fly and won. She's literally the 8th gym leader. Why. Why couldnt they give her more pokemon. This game is mind numbingly boring so I was actually kinda hyped for this fight but ig not.
I did the dragon cave stuff and got a Dratini. I named it Anchovy. I'm starting to regret getting it because I know I'll have to grind it up to a usable level. fun.
I struggle to even figure out how to reach Kanto in the first place. I had to google it.
I reached victory road. My morale here is at 0. I just want to get to the elite 4 and get it over with because this shit sucks. I'll cover the rest of kanto in a seperate review because I'm not sure I can handle this slog too much longer. Or I wont at all. Depends on if I'm willing to give this game a second shot. But this review isn't over until I beat Lance so I'm looking forward to that.
I ran into silver in victory road. Unfortunately, this was seconds after a random graveler self destructed on my feraligatr. So I was basically going 3 pokemon against 6 here. I still won though because his team fucking sucks AYOOOO. No but seriously his team still has a golbat on it.
After an incredibly painstaking victory road grind to get my 5 pokemon to lvl 42-44, I was finally ready to challenge the elite four and champ. Will's 2nd xatu and exeggutor gave me some trouble, but he was easy apart from that. Koga was an incredibly easy fight, with a horrible team, mediocre typing, and a bunch of evasion-reliant movesets. Bruno was also incredibly easy, all his fighting types were fodder for my crobat and his onix is a very questionable choice. Karen was a very hard fight and lord knows that vileplume was utter hell to face. Also her strong pokemon weak pokemon quote is corny as hell.
The lance fight. I really, REALLY regret not having a 6th party member. This is a genuinely fun and interesting fight but my brain can't enjoy it because i'm too tired because of literally every fight before this one just being time wasting slop. It's 1 am and i've lost to lance an uncountable number of times.
Finally beat lance. Genuinely super great champion fight, like a beautiful cherry atop a mound of shit.
Here was my team:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
POKEMON CRYSTAL MAIN GAME (no kanto excluding victory road/e4 & champ)
RATING: 6/10
PROS:
Great champion fight against lance
Solid early game
Lots of content
CONS:
Horrible region design
Horrible level scaling
Has multiple of the most boring sections I've ever had to deal with in a pokemon game
Horrible pokemon diversity
Easy as shit
Tons of content locked behind kanto postgame (such as evolution stones, pokemon like houndour, etc)
Genuinely just really fucking boring holy shit. I cant stress this enough. The hardest battle in this game is fighting sleep. I'd have died without emulator speedup.

Day Fourteen
Well. Today was a lot, but most of it was good.
It’s spirit day, so nearly everyone showed up decked out in school colors- plus glitter, face paint, fun accessories- and it was really cool to see that school pride coming out again. Today’s schedule went like this: 50-minute classes, followed by fun times in advisory (my students played ultimate frisbee and kickball against Mr. N’s students) and a cookout lunch, and then a pep rally to end the day.
I did get an angry parent email first thing in the morning, but I genuinely have no idea what I did to warrant it. So I was very confused. The Principal, who was CCed, said he would handle it. I just had to shake it off and get on with teaching. So I taught a rocking lesson about the Articles of Confederation in APUSGOV (yes, I’m enough of a wizard to make the Articles of Confederation rock), and I was ready to hype up my World students for their first vocab quiz, buuuuut then the fire alarm went off during the bell change.
Obviously, that was not planned, and I think everyone who was at the high school last year- as a student or staff member- thought, “Not this again...” At least this year we’re not understaffed and our security technology’s been upgraded, so our admins were immediately able to pull footage from the surveillance cameras in the halls, see who was going into the bathrooms (it’s vaping in the bathrooms that’s the issue), and figure out who was responsible.
But it did take a while for the fire department to give us the all-clear to go back into the building, so Block 2 only ended up being about twenty minutes. I told my students I’d postpone the quiz until Monday, no big deal. They read their books and worked on other things instead. My Block 3 students took the quiz, though, and smashed it, which I loved to see.
And everything was good after that. I liked getting outside with my advisory, and I won’t ever complain about a free lunch. And the pep rally was a ball. The students really kept it positive, and they behaved so well compared to how they’d behaved last spring- what a difference time, assigned seating, and clear expectations make, eh?- so it was actually enjoyable. Our band and drum line were amazing, the student council put on some fun games for class competitions (alas, I got knocked out of musical chairs embarrassingly early, but the seniors still cheered for me), we hyped up our sports teams...
And the football team won the Homecoming game tonight!

Was Leeds the turning point?
The thought going through my mind this week is just whether that win on Boxing Day against Leeds United was the turning point in North Ends recent poor form and the turning point in Ryan Lowe`s extremely brittle relationship with the fan base. Although it came after a poor defeat at Swansea the manner of the victory against the Peacocks gave reason for hope that the manager will finally make the systems suit the team and that he has listened to the Sage advice of Peter Ridsdale with regards to high octane comments in certain Radio interviews. Even though I had personally reached the end of the line after the defeat at home to QPR I still want North End to win every game and not lose just to hasten a managerial departure. It is a big four days coming up and four points from Sheffield Wednesday and Swansea would see North End going into the new year in better shape.
It was a long old journey on Xmas Friday, down to South Wales, to see North End get done in the 95th minute of a game that we really should have won. It was clear from the start that the manager had not gone to concede and keep it tight at the back. After an even first half we went a goal down early in the second which forced a change of plan. Millar was introduced and the impact was immediate after the Canadian fired us level with a superb goal. From that point we really should have gone on to win the game but we sat back and defended when we should have been going for the winner. Alas we conceded an almost carbon copy second goal leaving a long trip home with nothing for the 246 hardy souls who made their way to the Liberty Stadium.
It was a sell out at Deepdale at lunchtime on Boxing Day and the biggest home attendance for 52 years as 21,816 were inside Deepdale for the visit of Leeds United. There wasnt a great deal of confidence going around before this game started with regards to North End`s chances but right from the kick off we more than held our own in this encounter. A good even first half saw the teams go in level at the break and when Millar crossed for Browne to head home early in the second period Deepdale was alight. Leeds had a few minutes earlier been reduced to ten men and North End took advantage. We very much held our own until seven minutes from time when McCann conceded a penalty and the scores were level. However North End were not done and with eighty nine minutes on the clock Millar cut in from the left and rounded two defenders before sending a curling shot into the far corner to give North End the three points and set Deepdale on fire. It was a very good win against a good team and just the tonic needed after the defeat at Swansea.
On Friday evening 7.45 ko we entertain Sheffield Wednesday at Deepdale in a game that looks winnable on paper but as we all know this Championship has a mind of it`s own. Looking at the Owls away record you would fancy a large bet on a home win because out of twelve league games away from Hillsborough, Wednesday have won one, drawn one and lost ten with a minus sixteen goal difference to boot. It is just the sort of game that causes an upset up and down the land but especially in this division. I hope Ryan Lowe plays the same side he played on Tuesday afternoon and the same formation. I just think we look far more effective, defensively, with two lines of four playing yet still allowing the wide men to do their stuff on the flanks. It looks like and should be a home win on paper but we know what paper did and North End will need to be very near their best to take all three points under the Deepdale lights.
As the Sheffield game sees out 2023 we then make the trip to the North East for our first game of the New Year when we visit the Stadium of Light for a game against Sunderland 12.30 ko. The Black Cats have a slightly quirky home record this season having won seven and lost five of their twelve league games so far this term. with a goal difference of plus four. One thing that may well be in North End`s favour is that Sunderland have a huge FA Cup tie at home to Newcastle just a few days later and perhaps one or two minds may well be elsewhere on the day. Nevertheless this looks a tough assignment on the face of it and the manager may well change things around up on Wearside. No doubt that four points from the Sheffield Wednesday and Sunderland game would be a very good return for North End and if achieved the seven points gained over the festive period would be decent enough.
And finally this week:- it appears that VAR will be in force when we go to Chelsea in the FA Cup on January 6th. It will be a new experience for me and I would suspect many others to be actually inside the Stadium as VAR plays out. Im not a great fan myself as I fear it brings more arguments to the game than it settles but I am looking forward to seeing it in action live.

What would a cw adaptation of Harry Potter look like?
Having not watched too many cw shows myself (I just hear about their nonsense), I phoned @therealvinelle who made the poor life choices of having watched much more of The Vampire Diaries than I have and watching any Supernatural.
The following is her beautiful response:
So for starters, we merge Snape and Tom's characters. This is because Snape isn't hot, and because Tom needs to be near the kids. Tom still looks like Tom Riddle, and he's a teacher who seduces Hermione. At no point are any thoughts about the fact that he's a teacher sleeping with a student had
Harry is a blond now, and he's also dating Hermione. A love triangle ensues, one where Tom will hover sexily but dangerously in empty classrooms and make vague threats that Hermione find very sexually arousing.
The love triangle is the focal point of this show.
Voldemort is Tom's evil alter ego, who killed Harry's parents over that prophecy. He wants to kill Harry as well, but it's not the season finale yet so he's not actually doing anything about it. Too busy seducing Hermione.
Instead he just does vaguely sinister things, like release a basilisk that Harry heroically saves Hermione from.
He every so often has charged conversations with McGonagall (Who has been aged down and is in her thirties. She's still considered ancient), implying they had an affair once.
Harry and Hermione piece together that Tom and Voldemort aRe ThE sAmE pErSoN.
(Piece together meaning that Dumbledore, who only appeared in the second half of the first season and the show never bothers to clarify what his job actually is, gets a focal episode where he tells them the story of Tom Riddle through flashbacks. Terrible flashback wigs and costumes galore.)
Tom will later, in season 3 where he goes full woobie and we learn that none of his evil deeds were ever his fault, reveal that there's more to the story. That orphanage he grew up in? It was a special school for muggle-borns where they trained a future wizarding militia. Tom was the only one who broke free of their oppressive regime. The other children... GREW UP TO BECOME THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX.
But I'm skipping how season 1 ended. The answer is that Hermione disavowed Tom in the season 1 finale since he was evil, he was too sexy bad boy to care except subtle wigglings of his eyebrow told the captive Tomione-shipping audience that he did in fact care. Harmione shippers think they're all delusional. She then jumped into Harry's arms.
Which was poor decision making on her end, because in season 2 Harry joins the dark side. This lasts for half a season, mostly because the arc featured so much filler. Tom, who was imprisoned in season 1, becomes Hermione's supportive pen pal through this ordeal and she starts to wonder if maybe there's good in him after all.
Sirius Black is introduced, he's a lawyer living in the Muggle world and he was in love with Lily. We get a flashback showing us how sad Sirius was when she married James, and there is buildup for an arc where Harry's paternity will be questioned. This arc is scrapped, and Sirius is written out of the show altogether, never to be mentioned again.
Ginny gets pregnant by Neville. Neville dies tragically shortly afterwards, killed by Harry because Harry is a dark wizard now. This is actually the spinoff door episode to the new show the CW is trying to launch, "The Weasleys".
Neville's death has no real consequences, Harry returns to the light and is forgiven in time to become the child's godfather.
Oh, and can't believe I forgot: they've all been aged up to 17.
End of season 2, Tom escapes prison.
Season 3, we get the whole "DUMBLEDORE is the real villain!" arc. Tom killing Harry's parents in season 1 is forgotten, the show doesn't outright retcon it but it doesn't want the viewers to remember it either.
Hermione is once again in a love triangle, only this time Tom and Harry have both done bad things (but we'll only bring up the 2 bad things Harry did (killed Neville and said a mean thing to Hermione) and none of the 282985204592 bad things Tom did) so Hermione has a hard time.
Hermione also discovers that she's a uniquely powerful witch. She has the power to make windows shatter, candles flicker, and wind blow all about. Everyone is frightfully impressed with this.
Mid-season 3 finale, Dumbledore destroys Tom's body. It's terribly dramatic, but then turns out to only be a mild inconvenience as he is resurrected four episodes later. He's resurrected by Hermione's window shattering powering, she closed her eyes very intensely and bam, he's back.
We learn about the horcruxes, which by themselves are shockingly similar to the horcruxes of the original books. The big change, however, is that this Tom didn't know he had horcruxes, those evil bastards at the orphanage split his soul in the night through ominous rituals (another flashback here). He has no idea where this other half of his soul is.
Season finale, we learn that Hermione is in fact his horcrux. This is why they had so much in common (they don't have anything in common) and why she got through his bad boy persona (he hasn't been a bad boy since season 1!). They were soulmates this whole time!
Harry despairs in the face of this, and he and Hermione have a teary conversation where she confirms that yes, the Tomione shippers won.
He also has a pleasant conversation with Tom, as a bromance has bloomed between the two.
Alas. The episode ends on a cliffhanger, as the door flings open dramatically. Dumbledore walks in, bearing proof that Tom made an Unbreakable Vow to always serve the Order, a Vow that was obliviated from him. He drags Tom kicking and screaming away from a crying Hermione, the season ends with her resolve to find a way to save him.
(Sorry, I'm on a roll here)
Season 4, a year later. Harry and Hermione have been searching ever since Tom disappeared. They've become closer than ever, but apart from three or four moments of extreme sexual tension per episode, Hermione is Faithful™
News of Tom's terrorist actions as an Order member reach them with regular intervals. Hermione remains convinced that he's being forced to do all this and doesn't actually want to hurt anybody, Harry's not so sure.
They catch up to him in Minneapolis (did I mention this entire show takes place in the states? All the actors are American.) and he tells them to stop trying to save him. Hermione, devastated, takes this to mean he never loved her, he was only ever a psychopath playing with her feelings. She tells him as much, and Tom confirms, yeah, he's a cold-hearted son of a bitch (Harry's favorite insult for him).
They break up, and Hermione gets back with Harry. They return to their home city in North Dakota.
At the very end of that same episode, Tom is able to visit Harry for 15 seconds in the form of a specter and very dramatically tell him how he does love Hermione but he's not good for her, better to make a clean break, yada yada. DON'T LOOK FOR ME.
Harry agrees, sure no problem, he can do that. Just one noble bro to another.
Tom nods, thanks for having sex with my girl while I rot in hell, bro.
It is in this same season premier episode that the show introduces the Blacks. Remember Sirius Black? Yeah, this is sexy family.
They become instant fan favorites, and one of them is shipped with Tom (the fans now hate both Harry and Hermione).
Pandering as always, the show lets said character run into Tom. And it's not Bellatrix, oh no. It's Athena, a CW original Black. She's indistinguishable from the original Bellatrix and it's unclear why she's not just Bellatrix.
Tom is ordered to kill her, but they have a moment of truly intense eye contact so he only injures her (the killing curse doesn't exist in this show. Don't ask how Harry got his scar. No really, don't ask, the show never explained it). Shippers go wild.
Tom is eventually able to break free of the Unbreakable Vow through the power of true love (book fans are sobbing, this show gets nothing right), and he returns to Hermione, begs her to take him back. She rebuffs him, and he goes to get drunk at a bar. This is where Narcissa (aged down to 25) finds him. They have sex.
He has a brief fling with her, only to get into a more serious relationship with Athena. This leads to Hermione getting jealous.
We're now dealing with a love pentagon, of sorts. Harry and Tom love Hermione, Tom also loves Athena, Narcissa wants Harry but she has undeniable sexual chemistry with Tom.
The show descends into back-and-forth-ing, and does not get renewed.
The end.
POST SCRIPT:
The oddly popular side character that the CW never wanted to be popular at all and keeps having to make mysteriously vanish for half a season so that the plot(?) can avoid being derailed is Draco.
He's super competent but the show will never admit that.
Later, Athena plays this same role.

Future kids - Todoroki Shoto I
Todoroki meets his children from the future. Part 2 is up now you can find it on my tumblr masters list. Or click [here]
Todoroki Shoto x F! Reader
Warnings: none
Todoroki was understandably confused. One moment he was eating his cold soba in peace and quiet, the next a little girl came barreling into him. Clinging onto his pant leg for dear life, tears streaming down her chubby cheeks. Todoroki tensed, even if he was coming out of his shell, dealing with a little child while not having complete control over his flames terrified him. What if he ended up hurting her, when he wanted to help? He refused to be like his father. hurting small children.
A small tug on his leg brought him out of his thoughts, and back to the reality that a young girl probably no older than 6 was clinging to him. He could feel his pants getting wetter by the minute, drenched in the redheaded little princess’ tears. Kneeling down to her height, he put a hand on her head and pattet it gently. It was the only form of comfort he could think of would be appropriate. “ Hey snowflake, where's your parents?” Todoroki asked the little girl, making her look up at the stranger whom she was clinging to. A small gasp escaped her lips, as she began to sob harder and cling to him even more if that was even possible. “ I-Im so so sorry daddy *sniff* I can’t find Ren” Todoroki stiffened. Daddy? He wasn’t a dad, not yet anyways. But that didn’t matter when he was comforting a young girl, so he would play along for the time being. Besides he felt drawn to the little snowflake, maybe it was the fact that she was comfortable enough to seek comfort from him. Maybe it was the fact that she looked like him, with beautiful heterochromia eyes, one classic Todoroki cerulean blue and one e/c.
“ Take a deep breath, little snowflake. Can you tell me what year it is?” His usual monotone tone, took on a softer note talking to the girl. He was kneeling at her height, rubbing small circles on her small back, while she clung to his shirt, sobbing in his chest. She looked up at him with her big mismatched doe eyes brimming with tears “ Its 20xx” okay weird that is 15 years in the future, Shoto wasn’t stupid this was probably the work of a quirk. He then proceeded to ask her if she was indeed hit by a quirk.
She told him that apparently her and her twin brother Ren, were playing with some of their friends at a park. But when they were playing tag one of their friends got their quirk, and the twins got separated. When Reina, as she told him her name was, woke up and couldn’t find her twin brother Ren she began to panic. Then she began looking for him, but then she recognized the dual colored hair and ran to him.
In between her telling the story and sniffling quitely, Shoto had picked her up. While she was calming down in his arms, he began making his way back to the campus grounds. Mr.Aizawa would hopefully know what to do, and maybe they would find Ren on the way. It broke his heart to hear her sniffle, his little snowflake crying was heart wrenching. Even if she technically wasn’t born yet, she was still his little snowflake and he would protect her no matter the cost. He was so possessive of his little girl already and he had only met her 1 hour ago, he promised himself then and there that he would be a better father than Endeavor ever was.
Her sniffles and sobs stopped, and her trembling figure relaxed in his hold. He could feel the little one's gaze on him, and he turned his head to her tilting his head a bit to ask what was wrong. “ Why do you look so young, daddy? '' She asked with the little innocent voice of an angel, he couldn’t help but let out a chuckle at her question. “ Well my little snowflake, right now I’m 16 and you haven’t exactly been born yet. I’m guessing your friend's quirk is something along the lines of time travel” he patiently explained to her, she nodded her head along as if she understood him. And if she inherited his intelligence, she just might have understood what he just told her completely.
The walk back to the dorms were filled with idle chatter, Shoto asking Reina about his future and how he was as a father. To which she exclaimed with a bright toothless smile ‘Daddys the best daddy in the whole world’ and he was so relieved that he wasn’t a horrible father like his own was to him. He ended up stopping for a minute so Shoto could pepper her with small soft kisses all over her cute slightly chubby cheeks. Her squeals of excitement warmed his heart, and a soft smile made its way on his face.
To onlookers they looked like a cute set of siblings, and small aw’s and so cute were heard in the background. But inside their little bubble, nothing could burst Shoto’s happiness at knowing he wouldn’t repeat his fathers mistakes. The long walk back to the dorms felt a lot shorter with his little snowflake talking his ear off. It was adorable really, she stumbled over a few words every once and awhile. She told him all about her and Ren’s adventures, how they accidentally froze their teacher when Ren got his quirk, and how he had to come and free the teacher.
Shoto was inexplicably happy that Ren got his quirk from his mothers side. But one thing caught his attention was the mention of their mother. He realized that Reina not once had mentioned her name, and as much as Shoto would hate to admit it he was beyond curious as to who he would ultimately spend his life with. A big part of him hoped that it was you, since he had finally found out what the fuzzy feeling he had around you was. Yep Todoroki Shoto was utterly and completely enamored by you, your personality was sweet and you would do anything for family and friends. Alongside Midoriya you were his best friend, and he was in love with you.
The closer to the dorms the two Todorokis came, the more his curiosity nagged him to ask his daughter who her mother was. When he could see the height alliance building a little longer down the road, his curiosity won. “ Snowflake, you never told me your mom's name. '' Reina brightened when he asked about his future wife, a big tell that his little girl adored her mother as much as she adored her father. '' Silly daddy, mom's name is Todoroki y/n of course, ``she said giggling. A bright smile adorned his handsome features as Todoroki stepped into the dorm's living room with Reina still in his arms with her head on his shoulder.
Class 1-A consecutively looked towards the door when it opened. They were trying to calm down the child that was crying on their sofa, who also happened to look suspiciously like their dual haired classmate. The young boy had dual colored hair and cerulean blue eyes, his hair was half white and half y/h/c. The child was obviously confused and scared, and had only stopped wailing when Kaminari short circuited. But alas he was still sobbing and the class was almost out of ideas. He had been asking about his parents, and calling for a person named Reina.
There in the door stood a smiling Todoroki, holy damn was the world ending. But what also caught their attention was the little redhead in his arms hugging him, the little girl's voice reached them and their jaws dropped. “ Daddy, is this the place you and mommy met?” It was such an innocent question, but 1-A was in a frenzy, so much so that they didn’t notice the little boy springing up from the couch and dashing toward Todoroki and the girl. They only came back to earth when a small happy “Daddy” was heard.
Todoroki was about to answer Reina’s question, when he heard the little cry “Daddy”. He turned his head towards the sound and so did Reina, she began bouncing in Shoto’s arms. “ Ren '' She shouted, making Shoto bend down and extend his arm that wasn’t holding Reina. Ren launched himself into Shoto’s chest, and Reina began hugging her twin brother as much as she could in their fathers embrace. “ Don’t worry my little snowflake, daddy’s got you” He whispered softly, calming Ren immediately. The rest of the class stood gobsmacked, daddy?
“Now my little snowflakes, let's go find Mr. Aizawa, so you can go home” Shoto’s arms were full, his little boy on one arm and his little girl on his other arm. How is he supposed to open the door? “ Midoriya, would you come with me to open the door?” Shoto’s tone was monotone as always, but slightly softer in the presence of his children. Midoriya simply nodded dumbfounded, nobody said a word. What were they supposed to say, with all the daddy claims, and seeing the children in the arms of their classmate confirmed it. They looked like the spitting image of the dreamy heterochromia boy, but with some tweaks. There were the y/h/c and the girls one e/c eye, that obviously must’ve come from their mothers side.
On the way to the teacher dormitories, the twins talked excitedly with each other, while Shoto explained the situation to Midoriya. Midoriya felt like he had seen the features on the twins that certainly didn’t come from Todoroki’s side, but with how much they looked like their father it was nearly mission impossible.
Coincidentally on her way to Mr. Aizawa as well, you spotted the tuft of green hair and tufts of red and white hair. Hm, must be on their way to Mr.Aizawa as well you thought. Jogging up to them, you poked Midoriya’s shoulder. Even if you were in class 1-B, you had a pretty good friendship with the cute green haired cinnamon roll. Your quirks were similar in a sense, since yours was a boost of strength as well. Not nearly as strong as Midoriya’s, but still. That is why you were training partners, and through him you had met his friend circle. It wasn’t an unusual sight to see Midoriya and Todoroki together.
But when they turned to you, you were left flabbergasted by the two cuties in Todoroki’s arms. Before the boys could react, Ren began squirming chanting ‘mommy’. Shoto sat him and Reina down, because she too began squirming once they caught sight of you. The two children that were previously in Todoroki’s arms, now tackled you in a hug. “Daddy look, we found mommy” they said in unison. Two children around 6 years old launching at you, could make even the best of them fall on their butts. Which was exactly what happened, they were squeezing you as tight as their small forms would allow.
Choosing to ignore the small ‘mommy and daddy’ comment, you carefully scooped them up in your arms. The look that Shoto gave you was enough to go along with this little charade, he looked at the three of you like you were his entire world. His eyes were shining with happiness, and his lips quirked up in a small smile. Lightly bouncing the ecstatic but sleepy children in your arms, you turned your attention to the two males before you. “ You wouldn’t happen to need Mr.Aizawa as well, would you?” You raised a knowing eyebrow. The two boys nodded, and you began walking again towards the teachers dormitory. You sent Todoroki a small pointed glare, silently commanding him to explain the situation.
The walk to the teachers lounge felt shorter than usual, since your attention was occupied. Todoroki explained his theory that a quirk sent the twins to the past, and that the two of you were their parents. As crazy as that sounded it made so much sense, and looking at the children you would lie if you said you didn’t see the resemblance. Midoriya explained how Ren was crying before Todoroki arrived, and how confused they were when they heard the little boy yelling ‘daddy’. Ren was probably the most scared, since he didn’t recognize anyone in his panicked state. Besides, most of the students probably look a lot different in the future, so it's kind of a miracle that the twins recognized you. Shoto will always be pretty easy to recognize, with his distinct hair, eyes and the showstopping scar. It complimented the handsome teen next to you so well, no wonder he was one of UAs top heartthrobs. Stopping for a second, you just realize something. If the twins in your arms are you and Todoroki's, then that means that you ended up scoring the half-n-half quirk user. Nothing could wipe the shiteating grin that made its way on your face, eliciting concerned and curious glances from the males beside you.
Mr.Aizawa had his fair share of strange situations. He had been teaching at UA for some time, and student’s quirks weren’t always a walk in the park. Never had he ended up in a situation quite like this though, he had to rub his eyes twice to make sure it was real. In front of him were 2 out of Class-1A’s trouble makers and one of his favorite students from Class-1B, they had two small children with them. Easily recognized as twins, and they looked like the half - n- half troublemakers children.
This was going to be a long night.

Tumblr media
You heard a couple friendly knocks on your office door, eyes glancing to the clock to see it was a little past noon and you knew exactly who it was. “Come in,” you chime, putting down your pen and stretching upwards with a smile.
“Helloooooo!” You hear as the door swung open, Kazuha flaunting an envelope between his fingers. “Letter time!”
You sweep to your feet and give him grabby hands. “Give it to me!” He chuckles and places the thin paper into your hands. “Tell me who it is already,” you giggle as you rip it open and slide the letter out.
“No,” he sighs, rolling his eyes. “I keep my promises.”
You quirk and eyebrow before you fold open the letter. “Even if I bribe you with dango?”
Kazuha smiles. “Even if you bribe me with dango.”
You grunt and groan but it quickly stops when you unfold the letter, reading the contents.
Good afternoon, cupcake, it starts. You blush at the pet name. I hope your day is going as well as mine. I’ve just won the office lottery! I’m going to ask for more snacks in the break room. That way, everyone benefits too! Specifically though, I want more sakura mochi! The ones you made for us were delicious. Share your recipe? :3
I adore you, your secret admirer.
You squeeze the letter to your chest and squeal, your face warm from blushing and your heart pounding against your chest. “Oh, Kazuha, whoever this person is, I really wish they’d come up and confess!”
Kazuha tuts and wiggles his finger. “But then the mystery wouldn’t be there anymore.”
“Screw mystery!” You squealed, gazing down at the illegible and scratchy handwriting, the mysterious stains and fur all over the page. “I’m ready to hear these words in person.”
Just then there was a knock on your door and a quick turn of the knob, one of the top brass leaning against your door frame. “Good morning, Chatty Cathy’s,” sang a familiar voice and ear twitches.
You wave while Kazuha bows, hiding the letter behind your back. “Good morning, General Gorou.”
The tail behind his back wagged discreetly as the two men share a knowing glance. “Kazuha,” the general clears his throat. “May I speak with you?”
The samurai nods his head and gives you a little wave as he walks out the door. “Bye boys!” You sing, tucking the letter back into the envelope and putting it away.
The next day, as routine, a little past noon you heard three friendly knocks on your door. You excitedly put your pen down, closing your ledger and standing out of your chair and onto your feet. “Kazuha,” you grinned. “Come in!”
He pushed the door open with his back, lugging a big box with some plastic sticking out from the top. “I’m just a mule to you guys aren’t I?” He groaned, lifting the box up and onto your desk. “This is ridiculous.”
You stood on your tippy toes to try and peek inside the box without being obnoxious. “What is it?” You hum, getting more and more restless.
“Your letter, what else?” He kind of snapped, letting out a deep sigh and rolling his eyes. “I wish he’d confess too. That way I don’t have to carry these things.”
You pulled back the top of the box that was just out of your reach. “Here,” pushing your hands away, Kazuha tore the box apart to expose a giant basket full of goodies and flowers. “The letter.”
Kazuha snapped the taped-on letter from the plastic and handed it to you. Wasting no time at all, you rip the envelope open and unfold the letter.
Dearest [Y/N], you’ve pierced my heart like an arrow through a target and I simply cannot get you off my mind. I heard from the grapevine that you wish for my confession. …Maybe I shall do so in the near future? It’s not that I do not want to be yours, but rather that you make me quite nervous. Still, we see each other for terribly brief moments but these moments are the most precious to me. Hopefully I can muster up the courage to finally tell you how I feel. In the meantime, please accept these treats and toys imported from across the globe. My favorite are the dog-shaped biscuits.
Your shy admirer.
Looking up from the letter you find Kazuha stuffing his face with some chocolatey cookies from within a tin box labeled ‘Fontaine.’ “Are those good?” You ask, reaching in and stealing one.
“Mhm,” Kazuha hums, taking a bite out of the one in his hand. “I’ve never had Fontaine chocolate. I guess the rumors about being the best were true.”
You melt under the sweet taste and crunchy texture, thinking that if your crush’s letters had a taste, it would be like this. “This is so nice,” you sigh, eyes sparkling as they gaze upon the basket. “Do you think he’s going to confess to me?”
Kazuha stares out the windows of your office that peer into the rest of the building, watching a certain general spill water on himself and the resistance leader. He takes another bite of a cookie. “Maybe.”
You squeal in delight and spin around in joy. “My heart’s beating so fast! I hope he does it soon or I’ll explode!”
Kazuha chuckles and playfully shoves you aside. “If you explode, I’m eating all of your snacks.”
“No! They’re mine!”
Weeks— almost a month— go by with no further letters. Kazuha stopped coming by, whether at noon or otherwise. The only knocks you got were visits from Kokomi about the budget or from other soldiers carrying reports and receipts from spending. Your heart ached at the sudden lack of contact, wondering if you had done or said something wrong.
Maybe your eagerness was intimidating and this mystery man just wanted someone to flirt with without commitment. Maybe he got bored of you. Maybe he didn’t want to talk to you anymore.
Regardless, you wanted to try and spark it back up in case you’ve stepped on some toes without realizing. That night when you got home, you tossed the ingredients for sakura mochi into a bowl and got to mixing.
The office ate everything you brought before lunchtime rolled around. With such great success, you had confidence that he’d reach out to you tomorrow, if not today.
But alas you were left in silence once more, leaving your heart to crumble and ache. You were quick to recover, considering you never met the guy— let alone knew his name. But you had no time to be worrying anyway, because in a couple of days one of the squads were returning from the front lines and you needed to factor in medical costs. Apparently they took a hard hit when Sara Kujou showed up with her samurai. Kokomi was depending on you, and you didn’t want to let her down.
You spend these few days really crunching the numbers, making sure that every wounded soldier would get the basic medical necessities with some left over for any miscalculations. With every i dotted and every t crossed, you stuffed your report into a fancy envelope and handed it to Kokomi. “Thank you [Y/N] for your hard work under such a sudden timetable.” She thanked, tucking the envelope under her arm. “The team should be arriving tomorrow, so I will be submitting this for review immediately.”
You bow respectfully and offer your thanks for praise. “It’s no problem at all, Her Excellency. I was given ample time to prepare the balance sheet.” You begin to turn when you’re stopped once again by her.
“Before you go,” she smiles softly. “Would you mind helping out at the infirmary? We’re short handed right now with the sudden intake of Delusions.”
“Of course, Her Excellency. I will be there whenever you need me.”
You weren’t specialized in medics but you had helped around often enough to know the basics. And anyone could become a master at immediate medical attention after doing it so many times.
The flood of gurneys was a little disheartening to see, but you were still thankful for all that they do for the greater of the country. It must be scary being at the front lines, but everyone knew what they were signing up for.
You catch sight of Genera Gorou and Lord Kazuha chatting with Lady Kokomi before you were assigned to a batch of wounded soldiers, feeling a little bad for harboring ill feelings toward the young lord for disappearing. ‘You could’ve at least told me that you were leaving,’ you thought as you rinsed the injured area.
“I can take over from here,” the head medic stepped in, slipping on a new pair of gloves before getting a closer look at the soldier before you. With most of everyone patched up and recovering, the medic team was able to take control of the infirmary once again.
You wash your hands and check the clock. A little past noon. It’s funny how at this time you would’ve waited with bated breath for a couple of knocks. But not anymore.
You step out of the infirmary and find Kazuha and General Gorou sitting outside on the benches there. “Oh, hi boys,” you say surprised.
Kazuha grabs and shakes your hand. “Thank you for helping out our soldiers,” he says seriously.
“Oh, it’s not that big of a deal,” you mutter. “I do this all the time.”
A calloused hand pushes Kazuha’s away and shakes your hand firmer, harder. “No, [Y/N],” Gorou says with a sort of oomph behind his words. “These are my men…my family. They would be suffering if not for your help.”
You look to the side uncomfortably, a little put-off by the tension in the air. “And that’s why—!” Gorou continues, suddenly eight decibels louder. You hold eye contact with the general, his face darkening into a deep red flush, his eyes glassy and ears twitching. He squeezed your hand harder and shut his eyes. “M-My C-C-Cupcake!!! P-Please let m-me take you on a date!!!!”
Kazuha winced at the loudness of his friend, covering one of his ears but still smiling nonetheless. The people walking by stared and mumbled, but it didn’t matter as you felt your heart pound against your chest. You felt your eyes well with tears as now your face flushed red, the general cautiously opening his eyes to see your trembling lips and pathetic pout. “A-Ah! [Y/N], don’t cry!!”
You tug on his hand hard, pulling the man into your arms and squeezing him tight. You sobbed into his chest, hearing and feeling how frantic his heart was beating as well. “You idiot!” You shout into his battle-worn chest. “Don’t disappear without telling me…”
Gorou caressed the back of your head and chewed on his lip, his tail drooping with guilt but twitching with excitement for being in your arms. “Did I…scare you?” He whispered tentatively, choosing his words carefully.
You pull away and wipe your eyes, Gorou watching you closely and holding tightly onto your waist. “I thought you got tired of me…because I stopped hearing from you.” Gorou frowned and cupped your face, thumbing your cheeks gently. “I even made sakura mochi and I didn’t—”
“You made sakura mochi??!??!!! Is there any left?!?” Gorou’s jaw dropped. He let you go to turn and run to the break room, halting before running back to embrace you once more. “Heh, uh…” he chuckled nervously. “I’d actually…rather hold you like this…”
You couldn’t fight the smile that spread across your cheeks, flushing your body against his chest. “That’s okay,” you giggle. “There aren’t any left.”
You had no idea that his ears could flatten sadly like that.

Not Your Friend - Tsukishima Kei
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Summary: Tsukki invites you over for Thanksgiving dinner after a day at the Labor Thanksgiving festival. But things start to fall apart when he introduces you to his family as his friend instead of his girlfriend.
Pairing: Tsukishima Kei x Fem!Reader
Rating: T
Word Count: 2.6k (not 206 omfg ally get it TOGETHER)
Server Collab: @haikyuucreations - Home Sweet Home
Warnings: Angst (w/ a happy ending), Very brief mention of sex, stuffed animal abuse (jkjk)
Notes: Anon I hope you don’t mind a happy ending because I totally intended to leaving it open ended but then my heart hurt too much and I had to make them happy in the end. Anyway first collab piece for hqc! Please enjoy <3
Even though you had been dating Tsukishima Kei for a little over six months now, you were still surprised when he invited you to a Thanksgiving Day dinner celebration with his family and closest friend Yamaguchi Tadashi. He had mentioned the festival that would take place earlier in the day and that after the two of you explored a bit, you’d go back to his home and have dinner with his mother, older brother, and best friend.
It was a little odd because Tsukishima had disagreed on group dates or meeting your own family multiple times. He always found excuses to not do it. He would only say that he liked to keep his love life private, and asked that you would respect that. And so far you had. You didn’t talk about what went on between the two of you with anyone outside of your relationship, even your friends. You would be vague about your dates and if you had a fight then you’d pretend like nothing was going on. He wanted privacy and you wanted to give that to him.
Despite that, you were really excited to finally meet his family. He had told you a lot about them and you had always wanted to meet them. You didn’t think he would have agreed if you had simply asked, so you never voiced your wishes to him. Luckily it seemed that time made him comfortable enough in your relationship to want to introduce you to the other people in his life finally.
That morning you put on one of your best outfits, something that was cute but suitable for meeting your boyfriend’s family. Once you were finished getting ready, you went outside to meet Tsukki at his car. He would never go up to the door, no matter how many times you told him it was okay. He smiled softly at you, approving of your attire. “You look cute.” He said before driving you to the festival.
The day was spent playing games and enjoying each other’s company. A few people recognized him from seeing his games with the Sendai Frogs and told them how they were big fans of him and the team. You knew he didn’t really care for the attention, always making an excuse to pull him away from the intruding person so he could relax by your side again. Tsukishima was always appreciative of how well you seemed to be able to read him. Despite his usual cold demeanor, people just seemed so eager to aggravate him. It was incredibly annoying.
Luckily, the fans bold enough to interrupt your time together were few and far between today. Tsukki won you a stuffed brontosaurus, making sure you tell you how inaccurate the plush was as you hugged it close to snuggle with it happily, listening to him list why it was improbable for a dinosaur to be neon pink with orange spots. Of course he added how the head wasn’t shaped quite right and the proportions were a tad off. It was enough to make you giggle as he took you back to his car to take you to his family home.
Anxiety fluttered in your chest as you watched the scenery pass you by in the window. What if they didn’t like you? You wondered to yourself. What if they thought you weren't good enough for him? A million negative scenarios and interactions raced through your mind as you thought of every conceivable way that you could screw this up. If this didn’t go well, then he’d probably never let you see them again. The thought of that hurt more than anything.
After failed scenario number five hundred and thirty seven, Tsukki pulled up to his family home and parked out front. He opened the door for you and you stepped out, choosing to leave your new beloved (though inaccurate) dino behind. You didn’t want them to think you were childish because you loved stuffed animals.
As he shut the car door behind you, Yamaguchi arrived with a wide smile. He greeted you enthusiastically, hugging you before giving Tsukishima a look that you couldn’t quite decipher. The three of you headed inside and deposited your shoes at the door as Kei’s mother came to greet you.
“This is my friend,” Tsukki began before telling her your name. You couldn’t stop your eyes from widening in shock, looking at him with hurt as you tried to reel in the fresh set of tears that threatened to spill from your eyes. Friend? That’s all you were to him? Since when?
You managed to compose yourself enough to bow to her as she told you it was nice to finally meet you. She then told Yamaguchi that she missed seeing him every weekend like she did when they were in high school together. The two began a friendly conversation as they retreated into the next room.
Still frozen in place, you tried to grasp hold on your shattering heart. After everything, the ups and downs, the hiding you away, the confessions of love, the sex, he still somehow thinks of you as only…a friend? There was a lump in your throat, making it painful to swallow. Tsukishima didn’t seem to be pressed by the state you were in, he simply walked further into the house to catch up with his mother and friend.
You took a deep breath to try and regain control of yourself. You attempted to numb the pain in your heart, simply thinking that if he just wanted to be friends then you’d simply treat him as a friend and nothing more. Two could play this game, not matter how much it hurt.
Tsukki introduced you to his older brother and his significant other. You and Yamaguchi chatted with him while Tsukishima went to help his mother with something in the kitchen. You tried to keep yourself in the moment and to not think too much about the greeting. Though, he repeated himself again when introducing you to Akiteru. Being friendzoned on what you thought was a date was possibly one of the hardest things you’d ever had to do. You wish you could go back in time and decline his invitation to come over in the first place.
Yamaguchi could read you like an open book. Not that you were incredibly hard to read in the first place, but it was easy to see that something was bothering you. Of course he knew exactly what was on your mind. He took you to the side after you finished chatting with Akiteru. “I’m sorry, I probably should have warned you I had a feeling this would happen.” He said to you in a quiet voice so that no one else could hear him.
“I just want to go home.” You confessed. Despite how delicious the food smelled, you had no desire to even be near Tsukishima after what he had just done to you. The pain was simply too fresh, the wound too new. “I think I’m going to be sick…”
He rubbed your back in an attempt to comfort you. “I think this is just his way of testing you.” Yamaguchi said, hoping that it would make you feel better. Alas it only made you feel worse. Why the hell did you need to be tested? Had you not gone through enough together in the past six months? Anger was starting to overwhelm your hurt and Tadashi attempted to backpedal. “I could be wrong though. Sometimes I don’t know what goes on in his head.”
You dabbed at your eyes with the end of her shirt sleeve to try and keep the tears from falling. “Can you sit between us?” You asked, “I don’t want to be next to him right now.” He nodded, understanding how you were feeling. He wished he could pull Kei aside and ask him himself what was going through that head of his. Why was he doing this to the girl that he said he loved? Sometimes he could be such an enigma.
Akiteru informed them that dinner was ready and the table was set. Tsukishima as already seated, Yamaguchi stayed true to his word and sat down next to him while you sat next to Yamaguchi. You could feel Kei’s eyes on you, wondering just what you were doing, but you ignored him totally. You told his mother that everything looked and smelled wonderful and she thanked you happily.
The six of you began to eat, and everything tasted as good as it looked. It was almost worth the heartache that Tsukishima was putting you through, though you had already decided if he was so ashamed of you then you didn’t need to be in a relationship any more. You were hurt, angry, and at this point didn’t know what else to do. If he wanted to break up with you, then he could have found an easier way.
The dinner was tense to say the least. You did your best to ignore Tsukishima, even though his family kept asking you questions about one another. How you met, did you hang out often, and many other questions that made it obvious that they were trying to see if the two of you were just friends or not. You kept your answers polite, but made it clear that you weren’t in an intimate relationship with Kei, at least not anymore.
The slipup caused everyone to stare at you with wide eyes, even Kei himself. You not being together anymore was certainly news to him, though he played it off like it was no big deal. He wondered if this was because he didn’t claim you as his significant other right away or if maybe you’d been wanting to break up for some time now. His own mind was clouded with doubts and anxieties as he became even quieter at the table. It was obvious that there was something going on between you two, it was just unclear what exactly that was.
Once everyone had finished eating, you helped Tsukki’s mother clear up the dishes and put extra food away. “You know, my son has a very interesting way of handling information he doesn’t want his family to know.” She said as she passed you a dish to dry off. “He has always been a very private person, even as a small child. I never quite understood where he got it from.”
You weren’t sure what her point was, drying off another dish with the towel in your hand. “He never tells us when he has a girlfriend because he’s afraid we’ll bother them.” She said admittedly, “He thinks we’ll pry too much. I think he keeps it a secret more due to his own insecurities than anything else.”
“Sometimes being kept a secret doesn’t feel very good.” You replied, not knowing what else to say to her. “Being kept in the dark isn’t that great either.”
“Well, no.” She said back as she finished the last plate and handed it to you. “But he doesn’t have a whole lot of practice with that sort of thing either. I don’t think he reads women very well.”
You nodded, wanting to believe that his denial of their relationship was simply due to him being an insecure idiot, but it was a little hard to believe. It still felt more like he was ashamed of you. “He’s never actually brought anyone over besides Tadashi before.” His mother said, “I think this was a big step for him.” She left to go tackle another chore as you stayed in the kitchen, nibbling on your lower lip. Did you possibly jump the gun?
Tsukishima walked into the kitchen and you realized the two of you were alone. He had an apathetic look on his face. “So we’re not together anymore?” He asked, as if the conversation at dinner was unclear.
Your eyes narrowed and you threw the dishrag at him. “I don’t know, Kei, you tell me.” You hissed before crossing your arms over your chest. “Can you please just take me home?”
He was frowning, which although wasn’t totally unusual, it was more pronounced than normal. He nodded his head, letting out a soft disappointed sigh before letting everyone know he was going to take you back to your apartment.
You walked with him to his car, allowing him to open the door for you. You got in, putting the stuffed dinosaur in the backseat. Honestly you didn’t even want to look at it anymore, you had already decided that you’d pretend to forget it there.
Tsukki got into the driver’s side, buckling his seat belt and starting the car. Already he knew things were worse than he thought. For as long as he’d known you, he’d never seen you abandoned a stuffed toy. You’d always keep it in your lap or in your arms, somewhere close because you wanted it to feel loved (he really didn’t understand this but chose to let it go). He swallowed hard, trying to figure out a way to fix things before they were beyond repair.
The drive was extremely tense. He caught you sniffling back tears a few times, the need to console you growing more and more despite the fact that now his heart was breaking too. “Listen,” He said, addressing you by your name, “I was going to tell them, but I wanted them to get to know you first without any pressure.” He was inwardly hoping that the truth was enough to heal your hurt, though he wasn’t entirely sure if it was or not. “I knew they’d pry and I thought it would be easier on you if I just said you were a friend.”
“Kei we’ve been dating six months now and they didn’t even know you were seeing someone?” You asked, though his explanation did help somewhat, it was still unacceptable that you had been kept such a secret. “Why are you so ashamed of me?”
“I’m not ashamed of you.” He said back, his voice raising a hair at the accusation. “I never said that I was. I just don’t like them butting into my private life, that’s it. It had nothing to do with how I feel about you.”
You shied away at his loud volume, sinking into the seat like a child that had just been chastised. “That’s what it feels like…” You mumbled back meekly. “That you don’t care enough to tell them about me.”
He glanced at you before looking back at the road. “How many times have I told you that you mean more to me than anything in the entire world?” He asked, sounding tired. “I’ve never loved anyone as much as I love you.” He always hated saying those words, but sometimes the moment did call for it. Moments such as this. “I just didn’t want my family to pester me about you nonstop. They get carried away and it's overwhelming.”
You were quiet, unsure what to say. “Why didn’t you just tell me that beforehand so I wouldn’t have gotten hurt?”
His cheeks turned a light shade of pink, “I was going to tell them right away but I panicked at the last moment. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to hurt you, really.”
You blinked slowly, reaching into the backseat for the dino and hold. The action made Tsukishima let out a sigh of relief. It was at least a sign that he hadn’t ruined everything completely. “So are we still broken up?”
“No,” You muttered back to him awkwardly. “I’m sorry I made you leave early.”
He shrugged, “I’d rather just be with you anyway. Akiteru can be such a pain.”
A small smile broke on your face as you rode the rest of the way in a happy silence.

unattainable affection
miya osamu x ghost!reader
word count: 672 words
---
life worked in mysterious ways. you had certainly never anticipated that you'd find yourself in a predicament like this one, and quite frankly, you didn't even believe it was possible.
there wasn't a day that went by without you questioning everything. the day of your death was said to be a month ago. how come you were still alive? well, maybe alive wasn't the best way to put it. after all, nobody could see or hear you, and you weren't even solid mass.
you were a ghost.
when you first discovered that, naturally, you had no idea what to do. so you went back to the apartment you rented before you "died", choosing to stay there since it was empty and familiar. sure, all of your stuff had been packed away, but it was still your home.
until you weren't alone anymore. whenever the landlord stopped by, you could occasionally hear him on the phone, mentioning something about a possible renter. you dismissed it and forgot about the entire thing, until you heard the front door unlock, and a face you had never seen before entered your home, a backpack and suitcases accompanying him.
if you said he wasn't attractive, you'd be lying. he had gorgeous silver hair and big grey eyes, and his frame suggested that he was well built too. pushing those thoughts aside, you had to do some thinking. if this man really was going to move in, would you leave? where would you go? did you even have anywhere to go? more and more questions flooded your mind, and you weren't sure how to deal with them.
instead of worrying, you curiously tailed the man, observing him as he unpacked and got settled in. you also overheard some phone conversations about when all of his stuff would be dropped off by the moving company.
after spending some time analyzing the guy, you came to the conclusion that you wouldn't mind being his roommate. he seemed like a down to earth guy who wasn't very loud, and since you were a ghost, you didn't mind sleeping on the couch. and so your adventure began.
---
it had been a few months since the man, whose name you learned was osamu, had moved in. you were starting to grow attached to him. something about his calm aura had you hooked. you started to find all of his quirks endearing, and even subconciously trying to mimic them.
you hated that you felt that way. after all, he would never know. and you couldn't tell him, no matter how much you wanted to. you sometimes stayed up at night, thinking about what could have been. you knew that had you been alive, you probably would never have even met the man, but that didn't matter. you knew him now, and you really liked him.
in fact, you were pretty sure you loved him. that made you feel like a creep, stalker, and weirdo, but you couldn't help it. you loved the way his face scrunched up when he was concentrating, you loved how proud he looked after cooking a tasty dish, you loved how satisfied he looked when he won an argument against his brother. all in all, you loved this man.
of course, that could've been because you refused to step out of your apartment, and he was the only person you were ever around, but you didn't even care anymore. as disgusted and dejected it made you feel, you couldn't deny it. you, a ghost, had fallen in love with miya osamu, a living person.
that made you miserable. you wanted to escape. you were tired of being around with no purpose. you couldn't die even if you wanted to, you were already dead. but miya osamu made your dull life a little bit better, even if he would never know it. you longed to be in his arms, peppering his face with affectionate kisses as you told him you loved him, but alas, you can't always get what you want.

Dion Jarvis for @bunsbille ’s Flor Springwell!
25 | Grocery Manager | Aspiring Comic Artist Art Lover | Geek | Naturally Funny
Read on below!
Dreams are often so much easier talked about than followed.
Growing up, Dion had always loved drawing. While his older siblings were running around playing, while his parents were fighting, while his cousins and aunts and uncles filtered through the house, Dion was almost always found somewhere drawing. The only classes he excelled in were artistic and he tended to flunk all the others, unless his sister took pity on him and helped him with his homework. It wouldn’t be until after his school years that anyone realized he’d been dealing with reading comprehension issues throughout, making schooling all the more difficult.
That, and the need to escape only grew stronger the harder things got. It was school difficulty for a long time, then it was the need to escape the constant arguing and eventual divorce of his parents. They’d fought for so long, he was sure things would get better when they finally split. But it didn’t.
His two older brothers moved in with their dad, Dion and his older sister stayed with their mother and the shift in her was almost immediate. Where for a long time nobody seemed to care what Dion did with himself - he was the dorky baby brother, the dunce - suddenly his mother was very insistent on him preparing for his future. It was time to put down those silly dreams and tuck into the real world.
Not, of course, that those dreams ever died. He still draws in his free time where he can and still hopes to make it his job one day, if he can ever make it big.
About the boy:
Dion is just naturally a funny guy. Some would say it’s all the familial trauma. He’s not the best at actually expressing his emotions so he usually has to make jokes about everything he’s going through, though he can be compassionate toward other people. Just not himself so much.
His life’s work and dream comic book series is about a group of kids who play D&D together being sucked into the game and becoming heroes in the world they created. In the game they become adults, have lives, grow up - but when the main storyline is finished, they return to the present as kids, back to their shitty lives, and have to use those skills they learned in the game to conquer the real world.
Star Wars > Star Trek and no he will not take criticism.
The only award he’s ever won is for having the whitest teeth in his graduating class, he still has that award on his wall.
He’s been called Carlton by his own family more than anyone else and has always faced criticism for ‘not being black enough’.
Dion is obsessed with Dr. Pepper.
He’s great with kids and they seem to fall instantly in love with him, probably because he’s just a big goofy kid himself.
He doesn’t talk to his dad, and his relationship with his mom is strained at best. The family member he gets along best with is his youngest aunt, the only one to ever actively support his dreams.
His collection of anime, action figures and comic books takes up a whole room in his apartment - he sleeps in the living room on a fold-out couch because of it.
Dion is guilty of constantly daydreaming. He’s forgetful, prone to spacing off and his focus is limited. He’s never seen a psychologist, but if he had they probably could have told him about his ADHD a long time ago and made his life a lot easier. Alas.
His most annoying trait is tapping and fiddling, usually noisily.
A vOiCe ReFerEnCE? ??
And the obligatory song
