for that ask game, orchid, mahonia and chamomile!
I AM FINALLY ANSWERING THIS. I'M SO SORRY.
Orchid what's a song that you consider to be perfect?
I am admittedly not very picky about my music, and I don't like picking one Favorite because I feel like it devalues the work people put into songs and also because different songs are varying levels of Me at a given moment, but, one that's personally very dear to me is Famous Last Words by MCR. Is it perfect? I don't know. But it helped me save my life, so it's my go-to for when people ask me what my favorite song is or related questions. This Too Shall Pass by Danny Schmidt is also a personal favorite.
Mahonia what place, thing, activity inspires you most and how do you express yourself when it does?
This is a weird question! (/neu) I'm not sure how to answer it. I cycle through my hobbies, but at the time this was originally sent, the answer was bass guitar. It was the easiest hobby for me to fall back on when I felt Stuck mentally, and it was really easy to just sit and fiddle with it. Right now, I'd say I'm back to writing more, which is a little bit of a relief. I used to identify very strongly as a Writer and it's been weird to be out of that phase.
My writing tends to be a little melancholy, but it isn't necessarily reflective of my mood (although I do generally have to be mindful of not depressing myself when I write). I do a lot of different styles of prose, poetry, essay-writing, journalism, and I've done a bit of script-writing, too. Actually, going back to the mood of my writing, I've found that poetry is the easiest medium for me to write genuinely happy pieces. In prosaic writing, I often get stuck on, like, "What does happiness feel like?" whereas with poetry, it's a lot easier to write what happiness is.
Chamomile what kind of things do you like receiving as gifts?
The timing of me answering this is really funny, as I actually started drafting (and ended up deleting) a post yesterday about how difficult it is for me to decide what I want as a gift. I overthink it a lot, especially when it's gifts from my parents.
From my friends, I really like small, trinket-y items, especially if they're unexpected. One of the most memorable gifts someone got from me, although it was small, was a little brass pocket-watch. I rarely wear it, but I was delighted when I got it, especially since the person who gave it to me said that it had me vibes. :D
