"what is it?" XIAO murmurs, stirring awake in the dim morning light as your fingers trace imaginary patterns into the thin fabric of his sleepshirt.

"nothing," your voice is a soft whisper, hands continuing to wander. your fingers ghost across his pecs, dipping down in swooping motions, following the lines of his muscles before winding back up to where you started. you hear him hum, sighing heavily in contentment while wrapping his arms tighter against your waist and drawing you in closer.

xiao's chest is strong and scarred, toned and strengthened through years upon years of battle. it was no wonder you had taken a liking to touching rather than just looking, whether it was a conscious choice or otherwise.

although sometimes xiao would comment on your actions, often calling your attention to his toned abs foolish, though this was most likely due to the fact he was embarrassed to admit that he enjoyed it. really enjoyed it.

you sat up, pressing your hands flat against his pecs and gently smoothing your hands up towards his shoulders as you leaned down against him, laying your head on his chest. his heartbeat thumped gently in your ears, and you smiled as you felt it quicken just slightly at the feeling of your fingers trailing up his neck to twirl any accessible green strands of hair.

after a few moments you sat up again, bringing both hands back in front of you, pressed flat against xiao's chest. as you looked down at your boyfriend, still laying flat on his back in the bed, eyes closed and face relaxed, you felt a rush of bliss so strong you couldn't help but smile. these were the moments you cherished the most, these soft mornings where xiao was required to be nothing more than himself. no battles, no bloodshed, no people, and no problems. just you and him, and the quiet of the waking world.

you settled back down in the covers, nestling yourself under his arm, sighing as he pulled you closer. your hands found his chest once again, fingers dragging swirling patterns until you drifted back off to sleep.

catching XIAO by surprise was never an easy feat, since, as an adeptus and a well-trained warrior, he was wildly self-aware. you learned this the hard way when you were first getting to know him; either he ruined your surprises himself (without realizing why you were mildly upset each time he did) or you would end up pinned roughly to the ground with a spear at your throat.

yet over time, and as xiao became better acquainted with the sound of your footsteps and the familiarity of your presence, you managed to get close enough to throw your arms around his torso before he turned to greet you. while you liked to believe that you were actually catching him by surprise, the truth was the adeptus thought your hugs from behind were stupidly endearing.

you didn't know exactly when or why you had grown so fond of giving xiao hugs, but now it had become your favorite form of skinship. throwing your arms around him the moment you laid eyes on him had quickly turned into your most frequent way of greeting him. it was safe to say xiao did not mind in the slightest.

xiao began to find himself seeking out your touch on his hips as time moved forward. his hands would subconsciously pull your fingers to sit gently over his hips, pressing his hands over yours to hold them in place as he leaned in to kiss you. if you were cuddling with him, your hands always made their way to settle lazily around his waist whether it was you who put them there or not, fingertips occasionally dragging up and down in and out of the dip between his chest and back.

the way your arms fit so perfectly when thrown around his waist, the feeling of security when your hands pressed against the small of his back; he found himself falling in love with your embrace.

even in the dim, blue light of the EARLY MORNINGS, you can be sure that ITTO is in the kitchen with you. while you're frying your perfect eggs over the stove, bedhead and sleepwear and all, he's sauntering in yawning as he presses a kiss to your cheek with a sleepy 'good morning'. his hands rest on your hips, creeping forward little by little until he's embracing you from behind, his chin resting on your shoulder as he watches you cook. his voice is still raspy from sleep and his big t-shirt-baggy pants combo hangs loosely over his toned frame as he shuffles around the kitchen to start the coffee and set the table. you watch him fondly from the stove, smiling softly at the sight of your boyfriend's uncharacteristically gentle demeanor. it's almost comical seeing such a big, muscular, oni gang leader in his sleepwear humming while pouring coffee and gathering dishes, but these moments are precious to you. when his eyes meet your staring, returning your affectionate grin with his own, you know you wouldn't trade your mornings for anything in the world.

KUJOU SARA, whether she realizes it or not, is always expecting you once it reaches MIDDAY. you're always waiting outside the tenryou commission's gates, basket of groceries in hand, waving as she approaches from a long morning's work. you walk her to your home just like you do every day, babbling about whatever events had happened to you during your errands, showing her the new furoshiki cloths you had picked up from oguro mio's shop, mentioning how you managed to get today's fish on sale. once back at your place sara sits down at the counter, like usual, watching as you get to work on making lunch. she notes the way you work so smoothly as if it was just second nature, never skipping a beat even as you continue to talk. she admires how you're able to cook and wash rice just right, how even as you're clearly focusing on her rather than the food, everything still continues to come out perfectly. sara doesn't even realize that she's zoned out staring at you until after you're standing right in front of her, your freshly made bento box neatly wrapped in the new purple furoshiki you had bought that day held out proudly for her to take. she can't help but smile as she walks back towards the tenryou commission, staring at the cat-shaped rice the entire way back.

dinners with XIAO under the hazy light of the EVENING are always memorable, especially if you're able to drag him into the kitchen beforehand. he's not one to eat conventional food, we all know he only enjoys almond tofu, but this doesn't compel him enough to stop you as you try and teach him how to cook your favorite meal. he can't push you away as you gently steady his hands on the kitchen knives and he can't ignore the feeling of contentment as he knocks hips with you as you simmer vegetables on the stove. and he especially can't deny the butterflies that erupt into flight at each smile and words of praise each time he manages to do something right. while he's trying his best, his focus is split unevenly between you and the task at hand. his eyes seem to naturally pull towards your furrowed brow and the way your hair is pushed back away from your eyes, and he can't stop the flush when he catches himself staring. after the two of you finish eating the meal you made together up on the balcony and you look up at him expectantly asking him to teach you how to make almond tofu, he realizes just how in love he really is.

when you wake up past MIDNIGHT craving brownies, EULA is always prepared to help make the best damn brownies in teyvat. she'll happily follow you out of bed, letting you drag her by the hand into the dark kitchen, chuckling softly with you as you take out the bowls and cups. even if you know how to add ingredients properly to the bowl (and chances are, you do) she'll insist on helping guide your hand, standing very close behind you. her glacial hair is messy, falling around her face and tickling yours as she stands oh-so-close to you while adding said ingredients, small words of praise falling from her lips with each addition to the mixture. she'll hold her finger covered in batter to your lips to taste, even swiping a bit onto your nose while smiling as you pout up at her. she'll stand beside you, her arm loosely wrapped around your waist as you mix and will slide the pan into the oven once you finish. she thinks you're just adorable as you cuddle up in the living room waiting for the brownies to cook, jumping up every now and then to check to see how they're doing. she'll watch with nothing but fondness as you clean up after the mess you both made until you splash her with a bit of water from the sink, that mischievous look shining in your eyes. she'll chuckle, mentioning how she will have her vengeance before moving to come help you tidy up.

you have scaramouche trapped. he glares up from under you, his knuckles going white by how hard he's gripping the desk you cornered him against, his tense posture and heavy breaths betraying him. you hum, fingers only barely brushing his skin as they travel up the length of his free arm to lace between his, keeping both of you steady as you continue your assault against his neck.

your pointer finger lazily drags his shirt collar down, his breath hitching as your soft lips brush against the base of his neck, pressing soft, sweet kisses until you find his collar bone, a small swipe of your tongue earning yourself a surprised groan from your lover.

his fingers grip yours a little tighter as his breathless voice dips down to your ear.

"you're being so good for me."

you hum again against his skin, your attempt to hide your flustered face making him chuckle.

you make your way back up his neck, relishing in his delicious reactions to each open-mouthed kiss. as you get back to that one spot by the corner of his jaw, you remember his words prior to your steamy little session:

"no hickeys."

you briefly wonder if it's worth the trouble, but your foggy mind is only telling you yes.

the second you bite down the absolutely sweet sound he makes sends proud tingles through your limbs, but the moment is short lived, as suddenly his hand is in your hair, roughly pulling you off of him. his other hand grips your hip roughly, spinning the two of you so you could take his place cornered against his work desk.

"you think that's funny, don't you?" your chin is gripped firmly between his slender fingers, his face so close he was almost speaking into your lips. your mind was hazy, feeling hypersensitive to his tight grip on your wrist and his hand tangled in your hair, aggressively pulling to the side to better expose your neck.

"well, darling," he said the name almost mockingly, but you can't help the way it makes you shiver. "don't think i'm going to let you off for not following my instructions."

xiao is almost never prepared for your random bouts of of affection, and this time is no different. he grips your hips tightly, his head is bowed, hiding his completely flustered face into your neck as you attack his own, each kiss sending shivers through his entire body.

with one of your hands gripping his nape and the other holding his arm for dear life, you place kiss after kiss against your boyfriend's neck, savoring each grunt and groan he makes with a smile.

your aim was to take things slow, not wanting to push him out of his comfort zone. but on the other hand, you weren't sure how long you could restrain yourself.

not when you know how his little muffled growls sound when your teeth graze against his skin, or how his breath hitches when your lips meet certain places. every time he presses himself impossibly closer, your resolve breaks just a little more.

so you continue with the same rhythm, taking things as slow and steady as you could, the barrage of lingering, soft kisses never-ending.

but suddenly, the hands that were so rigid against your hips slid up to your arms, his hidden face leaving the safety of the curve of your neck.

"stop teasing me," he breathed, leaving a kiss against your ear as he spoke. you froze in surprise, blinking up at his incredibly red, but determined face.

"w-what-" you choked out, stammering as he dipped down to your jaw, mimicking your previous actions as you were left a flustered mess.

"you know you want to," he murmured between kisses, his hand coming up to hold your opposite cheek lovingly.

when he bit down you were sure you were dreaming, clinging to his shoulder as you breathed heavily, knees feeling weak.

"a...are you sure," you managed, hiding your own face against xiao's shoulder.

"yes," he said firmly. "i want..."

he drew a way slightly, tilting your chin to so you could meet his eyes.

"i want to feel you."

the upper floors of the inn are uncharacteristically empty on the eve of the event Verr Goldet had planned, save for you and XIAO. you let out a sigh as you set your chopstick down on the now empty plate of almond tofu. the evening was still dragging on, your arms leaning against the railing while your legs dangled over the edge, watching the rush of people attending the special evening at the inn down below. xiao sat quietly beside you, his back resting on the battered wood with his legs stretched out in front of him.

the night was young; light painted a glorious shade of deep blue over the horizon yet still allowing the red and yellow lights from the inn to shine brightly in contrast. you turned to your lover, resting your face on your arms. he was leaned forward just a little bit, arms crossed and eyes closed, one leg bent and the other stretched out. eyes fluttering shut in contentment you sigh again, deeper this time, resisting the urge to reach out and take a few strands of his silky green hair between your fingers.

"is something wrong?" xiao breaks the silence and your eyes blink open again to meet his honey gaze.

"no," you answer simply, sitting back up and stretching your arms above your head. "but i feel like i should be the one asking you that. you haven't spoken since we ate."

"i'm fine," he replies curtly, turning away from you again.

"well i know that's not true," you shake your head, leaning your arm on the highest beam of the railing before resting your head against it. "do you wanna go back upstairs? i don't mind, really."

"you like these types of events, i don't mind being near them if you're with me and enjoying yourself," he turns back to look at you, the slightest hint of a teasing look reflecting in his golden stare. "i'm only getting a headache tonight from the way you're sitting."

you scoff, purposely kicking your legs and sticking your tongue out at him. "i know how to sit properly, thank you very much. plus, i know if i did ever somehow fall, i would be in good hands."

he hums, crossing his arms and closing his eyes, resuming his previous position. "and what if one day i don't catch you?"

"yeah, as if that'll ever happen," you pull one of your legs back up over the ledge to better face the man beside you, reaching over to brush a few stray hairs from his face as he turned towards you again. his hand reaches up for your wrist, holding your hand in place and leaning into your touch.

"you know me too well," he murmurs, drawing you in for a kiss. one kiss turns into another, and then another and another until you're leaning impossibly forward, desperate to fully close the gap.

xiao suddenly tightens his grip on your hand to pull you closer but the movement finally tips you over, and suddenly your free hand lands right in the middle of the remains of your almond tofu.

"ah shit," you draw back, scowling at your hand, now covered in the sugary syrup. "damn it, i'll be right back. i'll go wash this off downstairs."

before you can get up xiao grabs your arm, eyes fixated on the remnants of the dessert coating your hand. "...why don't you just let me help?"

"in your dreams," you roll your eyes, moving to stand up again. "i'm just going to-"

you grunt as your boyfriend finally manages to pull you towards him, both your palm and your face dangerously close to his.

"i used to devour dreams," his voice is lower now, piercing yellow eyes boring straight into yours. "but now, i'd like to devour you instead."

as soon as your head hits his shoulder, he’s as stiff as a rock — shoulders tensed, eyes wide, and hands clenched

not only is he slightly bothered by the contact, but he also doesn’t want to wake you up

so...

he literally doesn’t move an inch

if you wake up and notice how his body is situated/reacting to literally the smallest of touch — you’d have to tell him to relax or just move away all together

^ that being said, if you tried to move away, xiao would pull you back in without any words muttered — as much as he was confused as what to do, he didn’t want you to move

he melts as soon as your body leans into him

like xiao, he would tense at first, unsure of what to do with his body — should he wrap his arm around you, lean his head onto your own?

but after a few beats of silence, diluc would just melt into your side — heartbeat slowing and stress leaving his body

out of everyone, he’s one of the most cuddly back

diluc would probably move the two of you to a more comfortable space if he knew the little nap you were having was going to be longer then average

so to the couch it is

is going to and will always forget about work just so he can hold you for that time

unlike the other two

kazuha seems like he would be unbothered by it — but he’s still cautious of what to do with his own body

when your head rests into his lap, and your breathing slows — he finds himself with his hands held above your body

but within seconds, his hands are either rubbing small delicate circles on your skin, tracing your features, or twirling pieces of your hair through his fingers

kazuha finds sleep on his own through you — head resting back on the tree the two of you sat under

his hands will continue to trace and draw on you however

he definitely writes i love you or his name on your skin with his finger
