Being Nekoma’s Emo Manager

Nekoma x Fem! Manager (she/her pronouns)

Warnings: probably swearing 🤷🏻‍♀️ idk if that’s even a warning

AN: this is an anon request! I realized I had it labeled from Spooky Anon but it wasn’t signed from Spooky anon 😅 so idk who it’s from.

*aggressively hits G note on piano and stares into your soul*

Also I will not argue this point because I have both age and vintage Emo on my side 😌

Now for a mini history lesson, the Emo I’m going to be referring to today was popular from the late 90s to late 2000s and into the 2010s

This means heavy black eyeliner, hair that defied gravity, neckties being used as anything but neckties

Black with hints of accent colors such as, but not limited too, pinks, orange, white, etc.

The days when TRL and MTV were the way to “stream” new music and hot topic was the source of all band t-shirts

Now that I’ve covered a small history lesson, let’s strap in shall we!

So get your check board belts and fingerless gloves ready kids!

Because it’s time to get EMOtional 😂

N E Ways- let’s just say, you classified yourself as an “Emo kid”

It wasn’t super unheard of to be different fashionably in school but you, well you were definitely a sight

Your hair was teased to the rafters, bows of every color along with skulls littered your hair

Your eye liner was the blackest black, and you skin looked like you hadn’t seen sun in decades 😅

You wore fishnet tights with vans or perhaps another skateboarding shoe

You looked pretty intimidating to most people who didn’t know you

I mean, your style doesn’t exactly scream approachable

However, the people who did know you, knew that your style of “dark and brooding” didn’t measure up AT ALL to your personality

You were a complete sunshine ☀️

A literal sweetheart and absolute Angel!

Unfortunately a lot of kids didn’t get to know you ☹️

But luckily, there was one guy who didn’t care about looks

He really didn’t care about much actually 👀

And that happened to be our favorite setter Kenma!

Because Kenma honestly does not care about looks or superficial things like that

Actually, when you first got teamed up with Kenma to work on a project, a lot of kids thought it was a strange combo

But somehow, you two managed to make it work and in fact, you got the best grade in the class

After that, you and Kenma became partners for every project

There was just something he enjoyed about you

Probably your weird similarity to Hinata honestly 😏

Soon you and Kenma started hanging out after school

You both loved video games as well as had similar styles in music

Look at me and tell me Kenma wouldn’t be into Emo rock 👁️👄👁️

Fall out boy, Paramore, Taking Back Sunday, THE USED!!!!

Anyways, soon Kuroo joins and he’s confused about your friendship with Kenma

Like you and Kenma are complete opposites but you get along super well

Eventually Kuroo starts taking a liking to you as well

Kuroo has natural Emo hair so it’s fate 💅

Kuroo soon figures out why Kenma enjoys your company as you are a literal dark ball of sunshine

Eventually you start accompanying out kitty cats to practice in order to hang out with Kuroo and Kenma

Upon entering the gym, everyone stares at you

You low key kinda scare the first years, Inuoka and Shibayama

Yaku and Kai are super interested as in why you are there

Yamamoto is just dead because there’s a girl in the gym 🙄

And Lev, well Lev can’t keep his mouth shut

“Hey you’re that weird chick that wears black and has crazy hair. I’ve heard a lot about you!” Lev screams

Yaku please 😌

“LEV SHUT UP!” Kuroo yells as Yaku kicks him

You just giggle, a sound nobody was expecting, as you say, “I’m Yn! I guess I kind of do get a little bit of a reputation but I promise, I’m not evil or something!”

“She’s actually kind of cute in a different way,” Kai says as Fukunaga and Yaku nodd in agreement.

Soon, you are coming to every practice and helping where you can

Setting up chairs, filling water balls, handing out towels

The boys quickly adore you and soon you just naturally become apart of the team

Kuroo officially asks you the teams manager which you gladly accept

It’s hard finding a club with your specific tastes and since you could still express your style and personality, volleyball club seemed perfect!

You enjoyed playing music, listening to music and writing which were all supported by Nekoma

Our progressive Kings 👑

Honestly they were so supportive of their Emo scene queen!

They loved when you added little touches of red to your outfits and even made a hair bow that specifically said “Nekoma” on it 🥹

Of course, they were still boys so they all found you super cute and adorable

Yamamoto was your personal body guard for everything

It didn’t matter what, he always walked you to every class and if anyone made any comments about you, he would challenge them to a “rumble”

Language you later learned, was picked up from Karasuno 🙄

You had heard about Karasuno and you were honestly so excited to meet them!

Kenma had told you about Karasuno’s tiny middle blocker

On the way to training camp, our sweet boys let you play the music

Honestly Coach Nekomata was way into it 😂

He was such a hip coach and he knew you kids were into some weird stuff

Please he was too 🤚🏻

Anyways, he’s just happy you bring so much joy to the team

And honestly you match Nekoma’s cat-like mysterious vibes

So when you showed up, the other teams just kind of stared at you

Obviously you kinda stood out like a sore thumb Yn, sorry to say

But don’t worry, Yamamoto is on the case 🫡

“WHAT ARE YOU STARING AT? HAVENT UOU EVEN SEEN A GORGEOUS GIRL BEFORE?!?” He screams

You rn 👉🏻😐

Yaku 👉🏻 YAMAMOTO STOP BEING AN IDIOT

You just roll your eyes and smile, bowing to the teams and greeting them

Almost instantly, they melted 🥰

Because like how are you both adorable and scary???

Literally Emo culture mkay

“Come on Yn, let’s go,” Kenma says as you wave and walk away

Eventually you get introduced to all the teams, including Karasuno

You end up making eye contact with Hinata several times as he observes you

Finally, he makes his move

“Hi there! I really like your style! I see your friends with Kenma and the pretty girl manager for Nekoma! I’m Shoyo Hinata and I’m a middle blocker!” He shouts

You smile back and greet him, “Kenma had told me so much about you! It’s so great time finally meet you!”

Kuroo and Daichi watch you both and shake their heads

“Boy short stuff really can make friends with anyone can’t he?”

“You new manager looks super sweet and outgoing, albeit a little interesting,” Daichi says as Kuroo nods

Soon you and Hinata, and by consequence Bokuto, become besties

Honestly you really enjoy hanging out with Akaashi but we won’t tell Bokuto that 😶

You share your knowledge as well as your unique style of cheering with the boys

You wrote cute little cheers and even inspirational poetry to share with the boys

Bokuto and Hinata loved your fancy words : D

And even when Bokuto went into his own Emo modes, the teams knew exactly who to call!

“YN HALPPPP!” Akaashi would silently communicate to you with his eyes

You 👉🏻 NEVER FEAR OUR SCENE QUEEN IS HERE 🦸🏻‍♀️

“Bokuto would you like to listen to some music or maybe we can talk about your feelings?” You say as you rub his back

“I could use a hug,” Bokuto 🥺

You 👉🏻😌🥰 of course-

Akaashi doesn’t get it, Nekoma doesn’t get it but they appreciate it!!

So that new episode was quite a doozy huh...

Seeing Eclipse so loving and sweet to Lunar was so precious and sweet, I love that they bonded by playing video games and it was clear to Lunar that no one in their right mine would reasonably hate him. Im so glad Moon sent him here for a therapy session of sorts.

But if you think about it,if Eclipse was able to be kind in this universe, it would be absolutely amazing if the Eclipse in our universe gets a redemption arc and begins to become more like this. We've seen some bits and pieces of him caring about Lunar, only for his trust issues and toxic tramua responses to kick in before he can be a good brother. But if this thing with KC goes downhill, Bloodmoon dies or Eclipse was wrong about him being used, he might have to side with the good guys...

I wonder how that will play out, because Moon and Sun kinda dislike him, Lunar seems angry with him and he would feel so hated and out of place for a long time. Buttt a redemption arc IS possible for him, and who knows, maybe Bloodmoon too 👀🤷🏻‍♀️

(P.s I wanna do art for the more recent ones and how Sun is really starting to act weird and SUPER agressive for some reason 🙃 Im nervous...Is it a fragment of KC? Or something to do with Eclipse and the backups Moon never found...That could be why Eclipse isnt so worried about getting a body, and only on Solar Flare...Because Sun IS the backup...😅 and why Sun is showing symptoms similar to before Eclipse took over...)

I understand! My aunt and mother are colombian, the drama I hear every day😅-then they are like: "why don't you want to get married?"

FR! like... I discovered I had a half brother, an affair baby that is. (Same age as my youngest sister) And man, that was devastating. But again... Latino dad moment 🤷🏻‍♀️

Episode 20 season 2 ✨

Once again I come offering a stupidly long analysis, so buckle up and read carefully, because you already know I tend to recall what I mentioned before, lets get started 😌

First, and because I simply can't stay without mentioning it, I also want a drawer like that, in my office we have one but we all know that there are snacks in there, it's no secret haha. Now, the fact that the stuff in the drawer doesn't fall out when she flips it over!!! it's not even a real drawer 😅

I love the way Kate looks at her, like knowing that she's right on cue, catching her doing what Lucy knows she shouldn't be doing, kind of like when my boss sees me hiding fries in the mornings 🤭

Now, I don't know if it's just me reading too deep into it, but I'm always going to see bringing someone food or cooking for them as a demonstration of love, maybe it's just because of my culture and how families show affection by preparing your favorite dish, I've always taken it that way from Kate, it's one of the ways she has of showing Lucy that she loves her and cares about her, always making sure she's hydrated, eating enough and not forgetting to drink her green juice 👀

Because Kate isn't stupid, it's not like she doesn't notice Lucy's face when she brings her healthy food, it's just that she keeps doing it because she knows it's good for her even if Lucy refuses to accept it 🤭

But back to the episode and how Kate had other reasons for her visit, I keep wondering how she must have felt when she found the cupcake in the fridge on a random day that has nothing to do with any anniversary, plus:

"The cupcake you left in our fridge."

I want you to notice how it says "our" and not just "the fridge", because it's theirs, because they live together and share everything 🥰

"It said 'Happy Anniversary' on it." "Yes, it did."

Lucy is so proud of herself for the cupcake and Kate just can't finish understanding

"Happy anniversary my love."

It's just that 🥺 for those eyes I'll take the anniversary any day she wants and commands, it doesn't matter

"It's not our anniversary at all…" "I know" "You do?"

My poor blondie was really trying with everything in her to understand what Lucy was talking about, Kate always tries to do everything according to the rules and her girlfriend on a random day congratulates her on her anniversary knowing it's not, poor Kate was really confused 🥴

And with the "I love you and us" we forgot the confusion and just let ourselves be loved….I mean Kate did 🤭

I will never be happier than when I hear them tell each other that they love each other, knowing that they've gotten to the point where they can just say it with no fear, knowing that their love is reciprocated and they both love each other so much, even with their stuff about not believing on dates

And can we talk for a moment about what it must have been like for Kate to have to open presents on the 23rd and not Christmas? I'd like to know what excuse Lucy used so she wouldn't have to tell her the truth about her superstitions 😂

I couldn't leave this shot out 🥺

And we get into the plot of the episode, I love the way Kate sat waiting for Lucy to finish the call, but the moment she heard Lucy mention a murder, she reacts and leans over to give her a nod asking what's going on, always attentive, always willing to help and above all to look out for Lucy's safety

Once again making sure Lucy has everything she needs, she stayed with her, made her coffee, took it to her desk and is trying to comfort her after Lucy is feeling she reached a dead end.

Always looking to support where she can, this is a quality we know about Kate, but watching her work with Lucy, it's just better than all the previous times 🤷🏻‍♀️

And just…

Look at Kate's face of satisfaction and pride after the high five with Lucy and their pun, they are two dummies who share two brain cells and I love them 🥺

I want to take a moment to appreciate Lucy's reaction and change of attitude when she finds out that Joe had a brain injury, the moment she knew that he could be the victim of the whole situation she decided to do things herself and go out and find him, knowing that he could hurt someone else or hurt himself without being aware of this, this is something I loved within the episode (and leaving Kacy aside for a moment) because in my opinion this is the way Jane would act, and in this case we saw Lucy do it. Seeking to find out the whole truth before blaming someone who might be innocent.

That's why she takes the call and tries to convince Jane that she's not in danger, that Joe won't try to hurt her, because she immediately knows how to recognize that he's not a threat, at least not one where he does things viciously or with genuine intent to harm her. All of this and what I tell you I find similar to the way Jane works, speaks to how much Lucy has grown, from episode 13 we see her working alone and not being satisfied until she knows the guilty person is really the guilty one, with each case Lucy becomes more aware, faster, a better agent in general and is just great to watch.

Back to Kacy

Can you imagine that your intention for the night was just to keep your girlfriend company on her night shift so she wouldn't be alone and to make sure she had some dinner and now you are on the phone hearing that she is alone in a closed space with an armed man? that is just what happened to Kate

Aside from the fact that I love seeing her worry and the way Jane knows how to control the situation, I imagine how frustrating it must have been for her to know that Lucy just walked out of the office and now something could happen to her simply because she didn't let anyone else go with her.

As this poll progressed, it became apparent that NSFW content was going to win. However, mood boards/texts fanfics are ~low effort (comparatively) for me to create, so I considered hosting a dual-themed event for ppl who voted for a mood board/texts fanfic option...

Another major reason I considered a dual-themed event is bc 2k felt like a huge milestone, so I figured — why not celebrately hugely ?! 🤭😍

The caveat? Only ppl who originally voted for a mood board/texts fanfic option would be able to request them. Why? Most ppl voted for NSFW content (NSFW Alphabets or Threesomes), so most ppl were guaranteed either what they wanted, or close to what they wanted. I asked for opinions—I didn’t want anyone to feel that this was unfair of me to spontaneously offer—but I received precisely 1 response 😅 (in support of hosting a dual-themed event).

Therefore... I’m going to go ahead and declare this a dual-themed event !!

So uhhhhhh

...I did not actually think that I would hit 500 followers within a month of hitting 400 so I forgot to prepare the milestone special

who's Mike ? 🤣 jk... the curse of Mild's name... I mean Mile 😛

a few reasons, all of which are business driven and not emotionally driven:

1) the number one being that Mile is CEO of another company 🤷🏻‍♀️ they left on a Thursday morning and were there all day Friday, two business days. he probably did the cost-benefit analysis of opportunity and going did not come out on top. KPWT was planned far in advance and there's actually multiple fan photos of Mile taking calls even at the airport

2) obviously Dior had him at the pop up so it's not like Dior didn't want him. NextGen Fashion Awards (Harper's Bazaar SG) is a fan theory but Mile had GNR tickets. He and Apo also had a run of like 4 events in that week and I think he popped up at the Tattoo Colour concert during that time period with a backstage pass so probably there was work that was BOC new year event related. Finally it was off handedly revealed to fans that Bvlgari invited Mile first but BOC claimed he was busy and Build went. a lot of reporters thought Mile was there 😅

three data points is a pattern... I'd say he's fine doing fashion things like the Dior event with Apo but sitting for a fashion show or standing in front of a storefront and having his photos taken might not be what he values for his entertainment career, especially if it takes a lot of time (involving travel)

it's not that Mile doesn't value fashion or his modelling career, but remember he booked the Maserati sponsorship for KPTS on his own before KPTS was even off the ground. He knows what his modelling contract is worth but it just might not be his main focus

3) in terms of making contacts and networking, he probably considered the cost/benefit trade off, but also if the goal is to have a contact with Dior/the Taiwan magazines, then Apo (or Pond because Pond went too) can do that kind of introduction.

tbh I'm not sure if Pond went for a specific reason but his presence felt a lot like event manager behavior where you're on the ground for the event. Mile delegating and prioritizing how to use his (and Apo's) time most efficiently seems like executive-level behavior. (which is ironic because Pond is supposed to be BOC's CEO so... 🤷🏻‍♀️)

4) now that I take a step back and think about it, I'm wondering if it's more lucrative (aka makes more financial sense) for Mile and Apo to have different sponsorship. there's a pretty large overlap of the fan base which these brands with more sophisticated marketing teams may have noticed too. so a thought exercise this way: LVMH (owns Dior and also owns Marc Jacobs, which Jeff was at in Thailand) owns a number of brands. if Mile and Apo have a 50% fan base share and 25% individually, bringing them on for one brand might mean 100% efficiency.. but bringing Apo on one brand with 75% efficiency and Mile on a different LVMH brand (which includes Louis Vuitton, Givenchy, Céline, Kenzo, and Loewe... and Bvlgari ) with 75% efficiency is then 150% market efficiency... you know? Dior took until 2023 to materialize but was likely in the works for a while. Just because we don't see anything doesn't mean work isn't happening.

5) finally yes it does allow Apo the opportunity to shine and get more entrenched in the fashion world which is also his passion. And Apo would have more time to network and chat without Mile being there. Mile and Apo having access to the exact same contacts believe it or not is actually less efficient from a business perspective 💁🏻‍♀️ and they both know that too. the reason KPTS got funded was because of both of their connections with different people/companies

all of which makes Mile's cringe social media sobfest even funnier. the heart wants what it wants (to see Apo)

My problem with this IF is that it lives rent free in my brain. And saying that it's literally one of my favorite Ifs off all time. I think you greatly underestimate how much of a wonderful writer you are. But I digress. Lol I had to make two variations of my MC.

My 3 main routes and probably favorite ROs are

Aster/Fenrir, Nero which is like number 1 over everyone else and then Uriel's grumpy ass.

For Aster/Fenrir I had to make a sarcastic flirty MC because no these two would eat a shy MC alive and I didn't want to be breakfast. They both are the worst and that would just be feeding two sharks who smell blood in the water. Lol tho I suppose the overprotective aspect of having a shy reserved MC with them would also be appealing but I like the fact we can give as good as we get. Ps. Loved the whole reaction to his sister. That was theeeee best thing ever. 🥰

For my best boy Nero I had to make a shy MC. I'm sorry did you see how fumbly cute his reaction to a shy MC is. Them just both being awkwardly sneaking glances at each other is goals. I honestly love Nero so much. Like a normal amount...sure...normal amount.. 😬 👀😏

As for Uriel I like a grumpy wet cat RO so much. I will make him love me 🙄 stupid hot grumpy guy. Love him! I plan on being the most positive friendly open MC with Uriel because we gta dispel, disarm and confuse tf out of him with love and kindness! 💜

All in all I love more ROs the girls are wonderful too an J but these are like my favorites. Maybe I just like the jealous ones best.. 🤷🏻‍♀️😅... I'm gonna go read this again.

I cld rant about it to everyone.. probably have.. and if I needed to write a review for what I loved about it.. I like reviewing shit. Audiodrama Recommendations

Since I see so many requests for recommendations (mainly on the Audiodrama Subreddit) and make plenty of my own requests 😚

I decided a few months back that it seemed the least I could do was to pay the kindness forward (for all the times y’all have supplied me with suggestions).

Before browsing my list- I think it’s important to have a general idea of what kind of person the AD-lover is before getting your hopes up by their recommendations- because, taste is subjective, no? 😉☺️🌟

So, to me, audio drama is defined by having a full-cast of talented voice actors who’s job is to bring a well-written script to life. It is my opinion that *narration* has *no place* in audio drama **unless** it’s *absolutely essential* to the development of the plot as the script requires.

I’m a lover of all things **surreal** ( favorite Artist? Salvador Dalí, favorite author? Rob Shearman 🫠)- I have LOTS of weird sci-fi/horror/thriller/mystery AD’s under my belt.. (I have literally cleaned out the entire *Big Finish Audio* catalogue. 😳)

I grew up on horror everything - I was 5 when I saw *Poltergeist* 👀 so… and was reading my parents Stephen King books in elementary school 😅🙈🤷🏻‍♀️ - by the time I hit highschool I had watched every horror film in Blockbuster (wow I am old 🤦🏻‍♀️) - from the classics like *Psycho* & The Exorcist to the cheesy 80s b-roll slasher films 🙈😂🤣.

That said - I am an equal opportunity listener and I love many shades of comedy dramas. Though I do prefer my comedy to have a bit of *bite* to it.. 😅 and I’m not here for narration. Full cast audiodrama with sound production is my thing. 😅😉😘

as an adult I am partial to UK/Australian/Canada based entertainment. Even though I have lived in NYC my whole life 🤷🏻‍♀️

Horror/sci-fi thriller/supernatural thrillers (simplified into “more-serious audiodrama”)

—Restart : by the creators of **The Cypher**

— Children of the Stones : (BBC) paranormal/sci-fi/thriller-mystery full cast audio drama.

—The Piper - (BBC) paranormal/sci-fi detective mystery/horror story (full cast audio drama)

— Jackie the Ripper : the infamous 19th century Whitechapel murders retold with some very sociologically-relevant, feminist twists. I debated whether to place this in the comedy or sci-fi/horror section because, technically, it’s a brilliantly British & even mix of both. Description from their website: “in this modern twist, men are the victims of dark, sexually aggressive murders. The kind that leave them penis-less... Behind all the bloodshed is a woman, Jackie, a ruthless serial killer ready to strike again, and again, and again….without a single ounce of remorse and ready to share it all on social media.”

— BODY HORROR (BBC) : psychological mystery thriller (contrary to the title of the piece, it’s not even remotely in the body horror subgenre lol - no gore or any talk of blood 🩸 because it’s not necessary - this one cuts deep, in particular for any1 who’s suffered from issues of identity or body-image disorders).

—In Another Room : paranormal investigation turned straight-horror

—Fulmar’s Folly uk-based post-apocalyptic water world

— Red Valley : surrealist-sci-fi-thriller-horror full cast UK audio drama. BRILLIANT plot & a few thought-provoking mysteries. S1 & 2 end w/ incredible twists & had me in tears one moment; and laughing the next. S3 is in the making & will be it’s final season; completing the story.

— Lusus - (BBC)- *like* an anthology (which I am not really into anthologies unless they are super original 😅) but if you *pay attention*, each very different story is linked. Each episode is unique in its own subgenre of the horror/mystery category.

—5 Week Countdown

— Murmurs (BBC) high-concept, surrealistic sci-fi-horror

—Limelight - another BBC AD: composed of mini-serials. My personal favorites are English Rose (5 part mini-series) ,The System series 1 (6 parts) & 2 (5 parts), Dead Hand (5 part mini-series, each episode a half an hour run-time), & Steelheads (5 parts)

—**Weird Tales** : (BBC) Some of these were just phenomenal. They ease you in with *The Fly* (not associated with the movie) and then they dial up the psychological fear-factor times 10 for *The Loop* - which was my favorite of the entire series. But they are all great (though the framing device is lazy & unnecessary)

— Malevolent : an indie lovecraftian tale

— Dashing Onions Audio : I read a review while Google searching best audiodrama - the mini series When We Were Two (3 part mini-series) was a perfect recommendation- this is how *every* Twilight Zone episode should have been. Upstairs, Upstairs was good just too short. Customs is a master class in script editing. Overall I prefer their mini series.

— Video Palace : traditional horror story

— The Man in Black bought on audible the version with Mark Gatiss; listened to the OG version on the BBC SOUNDS app. ((Anthology-horror)) Each episode is the length of many modern podcasted-audiodrama’s full seasons.

— Dangerous Visions (BBC) Horror/thriller

— Forest 404 (bbc) sci-fi/fantasy-thriller; hard to actually put this one into a genre category..but it’s written by Timothy X Attack, & if you’re a fan of his work with **Big Finish Audio**, it’s worth ur time.

— The Message sci-fi/mystery/thriller

— LifeAfter sci-fi/mystery/thriller

— Archive 81 : ((i suggest u start with S3. If you like it, wither go back to S1 & continue in order, or stick with the “backwards” route; going from S3->S2->S1 😉))

— The Imperfection : award winning. Any more description will ruin it. Go in cold.

— Who Killed Alaska? : sci-fi/mystery/thriller w/elements of surrealism,dark comedy, & possibilities of the paranormal..?

— How I Died : ongoing sci-fi/mystery/horror-thriller

— The Cypher : truly a great mystery (or mysteries..?), definitely a futuristic, world. Sci-fi thriller. Also by the BBC but available on most podcasting apps like the other BBC AD’s I have recommended here (spotify, Apple Podcasts, and Pocket Casts, a few are even available on audible)

— Petrified: Ireland based award winning full cast horror audio drama

— Subsister: A Real Podcast ongoing sci-fi mystery with multi-media/arg elements.

— The Deep Vault : made by the Archive 81 team. Fast paced true horror.

— The Oyster : this one I was apprehensive about & it was just… great. Cerebral, thought provoking, *moving*, psychologically-terrifying sci-fi. You will laugh & likely cry & feel your stomach fill with butterflies & it leaves a definite impression that lasts for days…

— Tracks (BBC) There are 5 different seasons - each could be listened to in isolation as they all have their own individual mysteries that are solved. All weird sci-fi, psychological thriller fiction

—Steal the Stars (renamed STORIES FROM THE STARS) : a shortened version (and obviously far more streamlined in storyline, production etc) of Archive 81 but here the writing shines, the pacing is absolute perfection - and then it’s like a roller coaster that I didn’t see coming - that ending I was so, so unprepared for 🤯🫢🤐

— Marvel’s Wolverine: The Long Night (can be found under the feed “Marvel’s Wolverine: The Lost Trail” - which is the 2nd season of the series) : I am not into the DC/Marvel universe. The last super-hero movie I saw was the 1990’s Batman movies 😳. I knew literally *nothing* about Wolverine, the character, when I finally caved into trying this…and boy, am I glad I did. This AD serves as yet another reminder of how holding onto preconceived notions only limits one’s potential for enjoyment. Anyway… this is absolutely not for children, & not an origin story (which is what I had been expecting). I was shocked to hear that the titular character (the term “Wolverine” is never used. It took a bit of googling for me to see that the missing “Logan” = Wolverine) is played by none other than Richard Armitage (who I know most recently from his spine-tingling portrayal of Rassilon in the Gallifrey Time War boxsets) and oddly enough, said-titular-character has very, very few lines/appearances in this story. I could go on, & on, & on trying to sell the idea of what this thing is & why it deserves your time - but it’s easy enough to just Google..

— St. Mary’s School for Children with the Stigmata

— The Grove : short serialized mythological horror story (obviously full cast)

—The Deca Tapes : almost like an experimental ARG-type formula? Basically you are dropped into a futuristic sociological experiment of sorts- and it’s up to the listener to figure out wtf is going on. This one has narration but it’s integral to the storytelling.

— BOOM (by Stak) : From their website: “It's 1999 and Enron finance manager Jim Yang has received an email from the future.”

—Parkdale Haunt* ((*I found the first season to be almost intolerable due to the very slow opening and pacing issues - but when it gets going it is good. I get the impression that they were finding their feet so-to-speak)) a supernatural horror story- seasons 2 & 3 are great - season 1 is a treck so if you don’t have the patience or tolerance, I advise skipping this one

—The Bright Sessions* (slow the 1st season. But worth it come the AM Archives)

—SCP: Find Us Alive : a darkly comedic horror serial set in the SCP universe but doing something CREATIVE within it

—The Sink: A Sleep Aid (BBC) immersive experience in psychological horror

—Case 63 : a short, professionally recorded, concisely-written psychological thriller

—Blood Culture : horror/sci-fi serial

—Quiet Part Loud : by Jordan Peele. This is a must listen.

—Tomorrow’s Monsters : serialized horror/sci-fi thriller

—Eliza : A Robot’s Story : professionally recorded.

—Borrasca* : paranormal investigation turned horror series by Q-code so that in itself is an advertisement warning complete.

—Passenger List: slow burn mystery. Caitlin Le, an Asian college student from Kansas is attending university in NYC when news breaks of a plane going missing (ala the Malaysian airline’s mystery). As the “disaster” unfurls, she is surprised to discover her twin brother was on the flight from London to New York. Months later the airline announces a “bird strike” was responsible for the flight crash; despite the fact that no evidence of a crash has been found. Caitlin Le can’t move on until she knows what happened to her twin. Soon she uncovers multiple rabbit holes 🕳️ and she gets lost . Did she really ever truly know her twin brother?

— Batman Unburied : I’m not into the whole Marvel comics thing but this audio drama does something different with classic tropes

—Batman : The Audio Adventures : again, very well done. I was into the Gotham TV show for awhile - but that’s the only marvel/DC-spawned-entertainment that’s ever caught my attention. This is another one that works for both fans of the Batman and newbs alike

—The Secret of St. Kilda : this is more of a drama with some supernatural/mythical elements

—Give Me Away : I was torn whether to put this one in the comedy or serious section because it’s more of a “dramedy ”. And it’s scary because of what it says about society but not traditional horror. It’s also by the team who did *Steal the Stars*

—Paragon : an hour-length sci-fi/horror audio drama and is part of the PRIMORDIAL DEEP feed

—Wake of Corrosion : post-apocalyptic horror (ongoing)

—Quietly Yours : straight-up horror, bottle episodes (anthology of cinematic horror drama for the ears)

—Human B-Gone : ongoing but so far so funny

—Two Flat-Earthers Kidnap a Free Mason: This one is definitely meant to be a farcical, satirical look at the internet conspiracy world (ie: the people who followed Alex Jones’ almost religiously lol) - it’s only 14 episodes in so far, and clearly ongoing… it’s not great but it works if you’re bored..? There are certain parts that would be really funny if the pacing had been better.
