Y/n shrugs, “Nothing, I just miss you.” Harry feels his heart jump at that, kissing her head. “What’s gotten into you, Firefly?” His hand slides up to the back of her neck and softly massages. She shakes her head. “Nothing.”

“I love you.” He sings, making the kids plates and moving to place them on the dining room table, shuffling with his wife while she stays clung to him. “I love you more.”

“C’mon babies, lunch time.” Harry says, waving them over to the table. Harry shakes his head, popping a grape in his mouth. “Don’t start with me now, you know I love you more.”

She shakes her head again, rubbing over her face. “Come with me, lovebird. Let’s talk.” He pulls her back in the kitchen and holds her close to him, her chin resting in his chest while she looks up to him. “Tell me what’s going on, firefly.” He hums, leaning down to press his lips to hers, his arms linked together and settled just above her bum.

Y/n eyes start watering, rolling her eyes at herself and wiping the tears.

“I’m just….” She breathes, sniffing and wiping her tears again. “I can’t even take the babies over to visit my parents without getting in a fight- and I just- I just wish it was easier and everything wasn’t so…hard with them.” Harry nods and lifts an arm to delicately wipe her tears off of her puffy cheeks.

“Don’t cry, lovebird. No tears, okay? I’m sorry you still have to deal with that. They have their good and bad moments- but they really don’t need to approve of us or not. We’ve got two beautiful- and cheeky babies together, and have a stronger marriage than anyone I know. Stop stressing over them, my firefly. They don’t need to be apart of our life if they don’t respect us. And I know you want them to be, but you’re always happier when you aren’t talking to them because you aren’t stressed.”

Y/n nods, thanking him. “I love you. You always know what to say.” Harry smiles, pressing a little kiss to her nose to watch it scrunch up.

“Now stop those tears, firefly. Don’t wanna see those unless you’re under me.” He teases, giving a soft smack to her bum before handing her her plate.
