He’s standing so still and rigid, at first, you think he’s a cardboard cutout.

Then, to your growing horror, you notice the faint reflection of the blank movie screen, off his large eyes. His smile changes, confirming your observations. A wide unsettling grin, Pupils becoming pinpricks in seconds.

“Well, hey there! I wasn’t expectin’ company so soon.”

Hearing his voice feels strange.

He gives you a bad feeling. You don’t know why you’re so off put by him. He’s a cartoon, logically, you shouldn’t be. Maybe it’s the darkness. How disheveled and ruined your surroundings are. Maybe it’s the odd rectangular shape of his pupils, that stretch over large white circular eyes, in an uncanny way. Maybe it’s how tall he is. Even slightly hunched over, this thing looks to be almost 7 feet, and that’s not including those ears. Maybe it’s those chain shackles, you are now just realizing, adorn his legs and neck. Maybe it’s the fact, that you are also now just realizing, the large handle of an obscured tool in his hand.
