The only WIP I’m really actively working on right now is Hiding Out in the Open.

Psychology Podcast Hidden Brain + AU where Simon and Baz never got together but Simon still lost his magic and got spelled by Smith = Non-linear AWTWB-era Baz negging Simon with podcast links but actually secretly being sweet the whole time until they’re having real conversations and like, excavating some trauma until Simon figures himself out (or does he?) (He does, I’m not a monster.)

(I needed more terms for this equation, a few higher powers maybe.)

3. 🌍What tags or warnings will one of your WIP(s) need if you intend to share it?

Well, so far I’ve warned for anxiety/panic attacks, implied/referenced child abuse, mentions of cannibalism, mentions of eating bugs, AND mentions of animal cruelty. SOUNDS FUN RIGHT?

4. 🧭An alternative title to one of your WIP(s)?

So this fic is titled after a Feist song. The alternate title was a combination of a Ron Sexmith song that Feist did a great cover of and the name of the fictional podcast in my story:

Oh, it’ll be this one for sure! I have nothing else even approaching any kind of written state.

Well, it’s just titled after the fic. But before I had a title and was just dreaming things up, I had a doc titled “Hidden Brainstorms”. There’s also a doc in the folder for this titled “Enemies Closer” that’s filled with research I did for an episode I have to invent…

Okay so I am an idea hoarder, I rarely fully scrap an idea until I’m done writing a story, I just park them all in a dumping ground at the end of my doc for ongoing review. But one for sure scrapped idea I had for this back in the start was that Shep would co-host a podcast at some point in this story.

9. 🤔What’s a story you’d love to write but haven’t even started yet?

Welllllllll, I may have an entire (shared) Trello board for a fic that @artsyunderstudy and I have been excitedly talking about co-writing. I won't say much but it’s a Canonverse AU, featuring older strangers-to-lovers Snowbaz, and it’s a ghost story. Your basic SPOOKY SEXY SAD CATHARSIS type of deal.

Actively? One. Two if you count the Trello board which I periodically add ideas to. Three if you count the Wedding fic draft I have 20K written for and could start writing on again at ANY MOMENT.

☀️Kinich Ahau (Sun God), Son of K’uk’ulkan (royal name as addressed by the Kingdom of Talokan)

Och Kan (meaning “Vision Serpent”) - Shortly after turning five years of age, the young prince dreamed of death — that of a whale. The next day his people found strangely their whales missing, vanished without a trace. They supposed someone or something had done this. He felt panicked. He did not know what it meant until more and more his dreams came true. They came to realize his dreams were not dreams at all. The gods granted him visions, an access to the spirit world where he could travel to & from the mortal realm. Talokan’s shaman knew immediately this boy had the gift of foresight — the ability to see into the future. Except the future is never as certain as it seems, even with a power as strong as his.

Description:

Born under the sea with the Sastun (“Sun”) at its highest

“Heir to the throne of Talokan” - The prince feels pressure from his father to learn the trades and one day rule the kingdom and take care of his people. K’uk’ulkan requires the prince to keep the “sun” to his people, he is named after the sun god after all. However he’s inclined to go with his sister to the surface world, save people, soar high in the skies, much like an eagle.

He admits he did not take interest in becoming a great warrior. The prince prefers to stay in Talokan where he’s comfortable and enjoys time alone. However his loneliness creeps up time to time and he’s entangled in his sister’s schemes and her wishes to sneak out to Wakanda. She would not survive without him. Nor he her.

The prince works with Talokanil priests and shaman where he focuses on being a healer, working with medicine and taking care of crops.

He CAN hunt and knows his way around the “forest” that is the open sea.

One of his and his sister’s favorite activities is playing Pok-a-Tok (“ballgame”), some would say they have mastered this sport but the twins are never satisfied knowing there’s always room for improvement

Uses obsidian blades for bloodletting practices, Talokan knows royal blood is of value and has to be given willingly for the gods to grant him visions when he most needs them. Polished obsidian mirrors may also be used in this process

Very introverted yet wishes to stand out more, to achieve a level of assertion only his sister demonstrates.

The prince is very secretive about his visions, he feels he cannot trust anyone with certain information.

Traits:

Soft-spoken, spiritual, mysterious, clever, sophisticated, strategic, sensitive, intuitive, natural born leader, can seem manipulative

Something still haunts the boy, a vision he saw soon after turning 16. The Talokanil had legends of the old world before they departed towards the sea. It spoke of an eclipse where the moon covered the sun, as if day were night. An omen of destruction, of death that could not go unseen. Even so, the boy told no one. Not his father, the god-king. Not even his sister, the warrior. Especially not her. His visions continued and the more he saw the more he feared. She would be the end of Talokan, the end of an era. But his visions weren’t always right. So is she Chac Chel, destroyer of worlds? Or could she be Talokan’s only hope in salvation?

AHHHHHHHHH fuckkkkk. Regulus slowly struggling with bloodlust while Sirius is the one stable thing that keeps pulling him back OH GODS. Regulus having a panic attack while Sirius whispers promises to his ear about how he'll never let anyone take his little brother from him, and that he won't ever let Regulus lose himself. Cue Sirius telling demons of hell to go fuck themselves because they're never going to get Regulus. Think the brothers going all around the world killing demons, running from angels (wanting to collect Sirius), hunting monsters, exorcising ghosts!!!! One of them gets cursed and one has to make a deal with a devil!!! THE SHEER POTENTIAL OF THIS AU. long roadtrips where it's just the brothers talking, fighting, healing, and crying. If there was EVER a good au to show how codependent and unhealthy these brothers are, THIS, THIS IS THE ONE. I want Regulus travelling through the depths of hell because Sirius was taken, in the hopes to kill the vessel of Michael (Albus). I want Lucifer (Riddle) trying to take Regulus under his wing while he's in hell desperately looking for Sirius. I want Regulus to find Sirius at the cost of his humanity <3 and Sirius despairing because he wanted Regulus to live a normal life, because that's why he gave himself up! And Regulus telling him to stfu and focus because now they gotta fight their way out of hell. Oh, and James is Castiel but falls in love for Regulus. Remus is Crowley.

🏆 What do you wish more authors in your fandom would write about?

Regulus not being a punching bag or a FOIL for sirius ://

To be honest, I guess just a little bit more nuance when it comes to the brothers? and a little honesty, too. like if you're going to write about the black brothers and say you'll be exploring both sides, then please explore both sides? Don't play at doing so, and then end up favoring one brother over the other too.

Like, i think we all know that both kids were stupid and cruel to each other, so have them both apologize. Or own up to their shit.

I'm so sick of these two being caricatures for badly written trauma and childhood abuse, especially when it's clear the author has no idea what they're talking about and is going off of the fumes of fanon, where regulus is this meek child while sirius is this brave victim kid who fought against his parents ://

Hmmm... and maybe I'd like to see more morally gray regulus having fun with not giving a fuck.

I think I'd also like to see Regulus having a solid support system.

When Sirius falls into the veil, it's his brother's hands that catch him.

Sirius thinks he can convince Regulus to stay but... Regulus just tells him to live like he's always wanted to. He walks right back into the flames, with his brother telling him not to go.

When had she become so dependent?

That day, things were different. For probably the first time in her life, she almost didn't want to be the one to choose. She didn't want to be the one whose hands would be drenched red in humanity's blood. Still, deep down, as soon as the demon had spoken, she had known what her answer would be.

The choice before him was already an atrocity by itself. A nervous chuckle threatened to escape his lips, but he suppressed it.

The genie's eyes widened, a chilling smile gracing her face.

I believe I asked you a question.

She didn't say it, she didn't need to; her voice boomed in his mind as if this whole encounter existed only in his thoughts.

Maybe this really was all in his head. He hesitated, even if it wasn't, what if this was a trick question, meant to make him agonise over an answer that would really hold no meaning?

Evander tried to think of what his professors would do, what his father would say, and what MC would think. Would they laugh at his uncertainty, or his foolishness for even listening to this twisted dream?

He clenched his fists. Why would a genie put the world's future on his shoulders, of all people? Why didn't she simply destroy the world if that's what she planned to do?

This had to be a trick question, he was sure.

"Neither. I won't pick one."

Evander prayed they'd understood the situation correctly and made the right choice; but he froze in fear as the genie laughed in his face: a big, villainous laugh.

She spoke out loud, this time.

"Then you shall have neither."

one of my friends IRL has DID and she’s described her inner world to me some, it sounds super interesting! i don’t have DID but have a super vivid imagination/inner world type of thing going on, which i think for me is part of my being autistic, and i related a lot to your post about having a visualized self rather than perceiving “you” as your physical body, if that makes sense lol. (it was the one about the kaf music video where she’s walking through an empty city/port)

oh my god i totally meant to answer this and forgot and only remembered just now. ironically my memory issues caused by DID made me forget a question about DID in my inbox

somewhat amusingly while my visualization of my internal world can be pretty vivid, despite being considered complex/polyfrag (i still don’t know what term i prefer for myself, i don’t talk about it often) most of my complexity is in my splitting patterns and “layering” of alters. but the actual LOCATIONS those layers are in? not super detailed or huge tbh. so i don’t have a ton to say here. BUT

our “fronting room” for lack of a better word, where alters are while fronting, is actually a bedroom, and like specifically a really over the top pink, princess-y looking bedroom that 8 year old girls could only dream of. i honestly have no idea why it is that way, none of us have ever been particularly feminine in that way even as children, it just has been for as long as its been here and now i’m so used to it i kinda don’t care to attempt to manually change it. it has a massive comfy bed with numerous pillows and a canopy, literally what more could i want as someone who is fronting a lot of the time dbjdjdkd

we are capable of changing our innerworld within some limits? there will probably come a day where we have more control over different locations but i currently don’t have a ton. as for free access though, the fronting room is easily accessible to anyone, like while fronting i can tune my attention to the bedroom and interact with it at pretty much any time. but some parts i cannot access as host and some are fuzzy or i can only access at certain times

btw ur innerworld is totally valid, i think there’s a good chunk of DID experiences that are like, experiences non-DID folk can have but adjusted to the left yknow. if it helps you or is a natural part of ur brain then go for it
