you are home to so many people and yet you're not at home with yourself. everyone needs something from you and you desperately try to prove that you're enough but you're never enough, never good enough, never even you despite all of that. your hands shake but only when you're never looking at them and your smile is so ever - present you can't help but wonder if its fake, wonder how much of you is real. you're a caretaker, but are you even good at that, or are you faking yourself out into believing you're something that you wish you could, someone that someone else needed you to be when you were small and so full of need and hope and fragility ? who are you underneath the need to be someone's home ? who are you when you come home to yourself ?

꒰ 𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐃𝐂𝐀𝐍𝐎𝐍𝐒 ꒱ؘ

as someone with plenty of schooling under her belt, serena appreciates a formal schooling, but doesn’t look down on others for choosing another path. while it doesn’t entirely occur to her that many would choose higher formal education given the opportunity and money, serena typically just assumes that they choose not to get formal schooling. self - education is much harder, and there’ve been times where serena has chosen to teach herself things — especially in the future post her death, so she has a respect for people who have taught themselves every thing.

within sundescent , the castle on solelle where serena lives , is the court of the sun. it’s a public court with towering pillars , ivy , and the throne is made from a precious stone in solelle called ‘ pythceni ’ , with rippling golden ridges that glimmer in the daylight. along the walls are stained glass windows , and the ceiling is a glass dome that spans across the entire hall. behind the throne , nicknamed the white throne , is a large mural of the goddess worshipped on solelle , seiros. the throne is placed as the highest in the room , but is still only slightly elevated. myths are abound that the white throne has a spirit of it’s own , due to the rare material used within it. it’s believed that the throne was imbued with this spirit by seiros herself , and can sense purity. they say the throne will reject those who are not members of the royal solelle family , and will slowly kill them , or bring misfortune upon those who sit there and claim it as their own.

story behind url: i love equating serena to a rose ; the softest petals, something so iconic and beautiful, classically sweet . . . but of course, she has thorns, too. as for pyre, they’re for burning bodies in a funeral setting. something morbid and something sweet pretty much describes my blog.

fun fact about me: i have a cutesy aesthetic job at a candy shop, and i love it !! i also babysit for a full - time job, so whenever i refer to ‘ my kids ’, it’s always about them. i love them as if they were my own - which means they also get on my nerves as if they were my own lol

serena has a handful of trinkets that she keeps with her, she’s extremely sentimental. the most important and obvious being her heart - locket, which has a picture of her parents on one side, and august on the other. it was a gift from him on one of her birthdays. she also likes to wear a pair of small pearl earrings that once belonged to her mother. she also has her father’s, her mother’s, and august’s wedding rings. ashton inherited august’s wedding ring when he was old enough, and decided to give it to serena when she came to meet him.
