Appearance:

Xīnyí is a small boy with long hair that is light blue in color. The tips of his hair are the color white. He usually wears his hair up in a tall ponytail. In his hair, he has some star shaped hair clips. He has black colored eyes. He also wears a pair of glasses. He wears the standard school uniform for Night Raven College. He also has a prosthetic leg.

Personality:

Xīnyí is a timid person. He is afraid of talking to people, but he is able to hold a conversation if he puts the effort into it. He works hard on his studies and tends to focus more on work than making friends.

Background:

Xīnyí is from a large family residing in Xianglong Zhigong. He lives with his mother, father, and older sister. His family visits his cousins every so often. Life had been a happy one for him, and he treasured the time he had with all of them dearly. He was never pressured into doing anything he did not want to do, so he was allowed to go about his day the way he wanted to do things. It had become something he grew used to doing.

One day, he was involved in an accident that cost him his right leg. Since that day, Xīnyí has been getting used to having a prosthetic. He chose to stay home in order to avoid rumors spreading about what had happened. However, his older sister, YǎTíng, decided to do something about it.

At first, he tried to ignore her. Unfortunately for him, YǎTíng was awfully persistent and would try to pester him for hours on end. Xīnyí did not want to listen to her, but he ended up sitting down with her to discuss plans for the future. He did not believe it would be a good idea for him to go to a school outside of their city, but his sister disagreed. After much convincing, she had helped him send an application to enroll in Night Raven College.

nicole shí was born on june 20th to shen and atlas shí in ontario, canada. she is a ciswoman. she is bisexual and uses she/her pronouns. english is her primary language. however, she is also familiar with chinese and french. her father is a pilot for the ontario international airport. as his work required him to be away from home most of the time, nicole, often known as “nikki”, and her three brothers were raised primarily by their stay at home mother. as a result, nikki had a closer relationship with her mother than with her father throughout her childhood and young adulthood. her and her brothers were raised into the buddhist religion. the family was upper middle class, though shen and atlas raised their children to be frugal. nikki had two older brothers, charles and eric, and one younger brother, adam. surrounded by boys, nikki learned to appreciate sports at a young age. she experimented with gymnastics as a child, volleyball in middle school, and soccer, tennis, and basketball in high school. she graduated summa cum laude from wellington heights secondary school and earned an academic scholarship to ogden college. she studies chemical engineering and plays on the tennis team and as goalie on the soccer team, all while maintaining a 4.0 grade point average.

but due to me having at least over a thousand characters I’ll just give a quick summary of the 25 I manage to dig up over 3 sketchbooks.

I’ll talk a bit more about my actual Original Characters first, starting with

Aiko! Otherwise known as Echo

- A marked individual in a steampunk world that gets mixed with magic, because I like both of those things

- Echo runs an underground lab that does helps the underground world with replacing body parts, illegal surgeries etc etc

- Even though she marked, which puts a bounty on her head already, she is well respected by the community for not cheating for your money, stealing your cash, or shanking/killing you mid-surgery

- however, Echo does long for adventure and sometimes do get bored in the lab

oh yeah,, Echo like stealing eyeballs, so if you’re low on cash and wouldn’t mind losing an eye, you know who to call!!

Bonus:

Here’s Echo’s boring, undeveloped sidekick!! I don’t like her and I don’t know how to make her better. Yes, she doesn’t have a name.

- He goes by many names! 

tbh, he’s probably the closest character I have to being genderfluid/-neutral? I’m not sure,,

- The god has many powers, from lightning to shapeshifting

- The shapeshifting part allows him to change every part of himself, allowing him to change depending on his situation.

- God boyo, or originally Aristide, is obsessed with the idea of perfection. A god should be perfect, if a god is out of line, he is no god. 

- Same goes for him, which means whenever something is wrong with him, it affects him, extremely

However, leaving the land of gods to live among humans aren’t all perks

- Aris isn’t immune to diseases or injuries. In fact, he actually fell down and died on impact when he came to earth, being reborn into another child immediately.

- He doesn’t gain his memories back automatically tho!! He has to have a major shock to the brain in order for him to remember his previous lives

- Sometimes the shock isn’t enough either, when you have a thousand over lives, you won’t remember every single one of them. So forgotten lovers coming back to haunt because your brain hates you? That’s everyday for him!

Up next we got Ayeka Himura! A japanese student going to a neighborhood, but still a pretty good, school living close to poverty due to her father’s constant spending habits and obsession with art supplies. With the household lacking a mother due to wacky shenanigans, Ayeka takes care of her two younger siblings and the house, all while maintaining a very well-paid job and slowly loosing interest in actually studying for a good, honest job.

Neon! A character set in the future utopia of lazy people, where gamers rise up. its the best I can describe her story without getting too deep. She the new hacker on the block, joining the underground gang of elite hackers. She’s another one of those wacky characters that just has fun. I mean, when you know your way around codes and the world you live in is full of it, would you not take advantage of that?

anyways,, Alexzandra is one of the more older ocs I have that didnt get a big revamp. Only an au I develop to the point I forgot the actual shows and the original cast are a little different from the source haha what? She’s the emotionally unstable german war veteran, yes the wife thing isn’t mutual, and haha shes only 27~. I cling onto her so much?? She’s hits a lot of “edgy” points but I still love her cause idk,, the story I made for her is something I hold dear cause Alexzandra was one of my first ACTUALLY DEVELOPED CHARACTER. Is it wrong to say I hold her really close to my heart? Is that weird? probably a little cringy sorry haha. I probably project a little into her which might have strengthened my love for her ack. Her story delves more into the depression very unstable needs to talk to someone side and i get scared talking about my wife’s story online so uhh, idk ask me specific questions about her, I’ll be more inclined to talk.

He’s the Canadian stereotype, and yes, he adopted scout, that was one of my character notes. 

Like the actual cast of tf2, there’s barely any real story to him. I only gave him a vague I don’t know my past but hey, i fly really really well. He participated in war unlike certain men but he’s still really nice and will only kill you if you hurt his family. Which he doesn’t know so he just considers the cast his family. He keeps mentioning a wife though, pretty sure he doesn’t have one but you do what makes you happy son.

Ai! an oc I HEAVILY revamped oh my god i hate her old vers. So if yall remember my random shouting of missing my og son, Aru. Here’s his bff. cause he barely has any actual friends that give a shit. And I just cant have that. but here’s your yandere revamped into a last minute addition. I actually feel like I did Ai a lot of justice. Isamu Aena! a mp100 oc I made by accident cause idk,, I was thinking about lolita fashion and all of a sudden, the actual oc I was going to make turned into a mob psycho oc. She’s one of my few ocs where her sexuality matters (she’s gay yeah) cause it plays a role in her storyline. She went from being “manipulated”/used to Mob’s wingwomen. She spots out things that can help him in the romantic department cause she’s into romance. A student of the school Mob infiltrated and a fantastic tailor, not to mention a pretty decent pyschic. wait where do models get their lolita stuff from,,

im gonna ignore that and move onto Lillian Yi! Who, i swear i did not meant for it, is very close to lloyd. I mean,, none of the ninjas were with him after s3, who you think he’d meet. Lillian is a survivor from the Great Devourour and yes I’m still pissed LEGO stole my backstory for Lillian to use for Harumi. FUCK YOU LEGO, i still love both of em tho,, The event did leave a big scar and it made Lillian job jumping for a bit, ending at Chen’s Noodles in S6~, where ya know,, stuff got better. She was a medalist for gymnastics and continue the activity, even after her parents’ death, to please others. She was already lost at the time so staying in the sport would help, right? Needless to say, after being rejected at a cop academy for youths, or something similar, she gave up for a while but got back into the idea of saving people by using her skills she already had. It helped with the weight and feelings and meeting the green ninja was a very big bonus. Also Lloyd dubbed her the “mysterious stranger” when she refused to speak in fear of her identity, slight shame, and maybe a bit of being star struck. It helped Lloyd too in a sense where he had something to distract him from Zane’s passing.

 Their relationship was eventually formed, strong and almost unbreakable, except for harumi but uhh thats a different story. Throughout the seasons, they stayed close and lloyd was always comforted by Lillian went times get ruff.

Also Lillian is my most light-hearted characters and I think that says a lot

Then there’s Nite “I don’t want to be your dad”. A character that is supposed to be in the ninjago world but barely interacts with the main story and only stays in his self contained plot. He was supposed to get a bf but uhhh idk. He’s the master of shifting and streams that online, taking out small crimes, and is actually really shy and doesn’t like interacting with people.

Living with her uptight grandma and her big bottom energy bro, she has the dom energy thing going. and apparently folks on G+, or the people who comment about her, thinks she’s really pretty, which was oddly a thing back before UA. She’s the dick you can like, not like Bakugou but she will definitely want to fight Bakugou. 

A gum-related quirk is not full of perks when its only your hands. I’d dive more into her like her insecurities and stuff but I’ve been here for probably 3hrs. Sorry anon.

Rob Cloutier is the head coach at Shenendehowa High School in NY. The Shen girls finished 5th last year in the New York region, one known for producing high caliber programs.

High School Harrier: Coming into the season your program is looking as if they are going to be an NXN contender after a 5th place finish last year in the region. Would you agree the program is shaping up to compete with those top programs? 

Rob Cloutier: This is my 13th season coaching and my 11th XC team - every year, even with the same kids is a different team - so I would answer by saying NY is incredibly tough and deep, even our own league and section (NY has 11ish sections which are used to advance to the state championships) are incredibly competitive. For our girls we have sufficient talent, experience, the Summer work is solid, so being competitive at the top is a reasonable goal - to be competitive come Regionals, yes - but so much has still to be done for that to be reasonable.

HSH: Because of the difficulty in qualifying for state in NY, your team has taken on the challenge of the Federations meets between state and NXR NY. With the meet being cancelled last year, do you think that hurt your team heading into the regional? 

RC: We had actually not planned on competing at Fed’s despite not making states due to a poor race at our sectional - so we were going on a 3 week block without a race. I think in retrospect we ran on par with our expectation.

HSH: The New York region is known for quality at the top that competes well at NXN year in and year out. If your program was 3rd or 4th at NXR NY, what argument would you make to the committee to include your team?

RC: With any regional at large - the resume should speak for itself - however NY has set a precedent for running the gauntlet and historically performing well at NXN. So every at large from NY helps future at large bid potentials.

HSH: How much of a focus for you team is NXN this year? 

RC: We are at the very beginnings of forming the bonds and idea of what this season could become. The reality of NXN becoming a goal will be a result of our group becoming close, the culture forging a sense of expectation founded on accountability and leadership. If we can truly in a very real way embrace the motto "For Each Other" then big things could happen.

HSH: Do you have any big regular season meets your team will be participating in this fall? 

RC: We love McQuaid - well run meet with great teams from around the state and bordering states. Outside of that we are focused on the postseason gauntlet (which starting with our league championship can span 5 races over 6 weeks if it includes NXN). Our other invitationals involve state meet courses of the past and future.

HSH: What is your philosophical approach to coaching that shapes how you run your program? 

RC: Balance, relationships, patience and focusing on XC for 6 months and then the mile (which has allowed success in relays like the 4x8) for the other 6 months. We are truly focused on developing the whole person and having fun and being our very best. So balance is huge. Doing it together is huge - relationships. And understanding that being a distance runner requires patience to be in the long term perspective. Over the years we have had a very high (97-99%) of all of our girls (80+ annually) improve each year in every event. 

HSH: How big is your school and how big is your program?

RC: Big, 10-12th we have 2400 students. I have my biggest team this year of right around 100, typically I have 80ish girls, when I started we had 50-60 1(0 years ago).

HSH: What is a sample week of training for your program during the cross country season?

RC: We usually go off a 8-9 day cycle in order to fit all elements of training in with regularity. The long run is priority #1 and we try to never get away from that. We like to use our open Saturdays for those where we can get to a nice site. Our league duals are on Tuesdays, we have 5 of those and are fairly competitive. So there are 4 types of weeks:

1. No races: Monday Hills/Strength Run, Tuesday/Thursday Distance Run with strides, Wednesday Tempo Workout (we have 3 phases of a progression throughout the season, where the length of the tempo is the focus, then the speed, then finally the rest is reduced), Friday Speed or Cross Training or both, Saturday Long Run

2. Dual only: This would probably mean a Wednesday workout following the race.

3. Dual and Invite: This gets tricky. We would fit the long run in on Wednesday off campus but also combine either the dual race or add threshold type stuff to the long run (Capillary run - got that from American Fork Coach Timo)

4. Invite: Long run is Monday, then we alternate Wednesday with tempo or depending the portion of the season an interval (3k) workout.

*We have incorporated cross training for as much as 1 of our 6 days per week - we always take Sundays off. So rest is a critical component.

HSH: What type of ancillary training does your team do?

RC: The Ancillary work is pretty thorough, but with nearly 100 girls we have to be creative about the setting because we can't really get in the weight room and I don't have enough medballs to be efficient so we utilize bands and a lot of Jay Johnson's SAM work along with routines the girls have designed that incorporate abdominal and glute, pelvic girdle strength. We don't static stretch ever and we don't have hardly any injuries of note at all. All this fits into a 2-2.25 hour practice.

HSH: What do you think is the most important aspect of your training program?

RC: Love. Relationships. Culture. The next step in the team's evolution to its highest potential is teammate accountability. Their ability/willingness to understand the dynamics of honest and positive accountability to an expectation of excellence is the focus. Our motto for several years is #feo (for each other, or ugly in spanish!)

HSH: How much parent involvement do you have?

RC: We have had amazing parents provide homes for team events, help at meets, provide after race food. We are looking to get parents even more invested in understanding the training so that they can assist in the other '22 hours' at home in support of the girl's wholesome lifestyle of sleep, nutrition, etc. I have an info meeting this week where we will discuss some ideas.

HSH: Does your team have captains and if so, how do you determine them?

RC: We have had captains in the past, it's a year to year decision and this year we are counting on our group of senior to lead by example and also head up the out of practice events. In the past we have had the girls apply to be a leader and then the coaching staff approves the final selections.

HSH: What was the most influential book or coach that helped you get to where you've brought your program? 

RC: Bill Aris - FM. I have had conversations with Bill over the years, but recently read 'Amazing Racers' and it solidified the basis for what we are trying to do at a high level and also helped me work as hard as I can possibly work to give the best experience to our girls. Bill Aris set the bar high. While at Shen we do things in some ways drastically different - the competition between our squads more so in track (I love 4x8's) has spurred on some great performances. I hope to bring that same competitiveness to XC ;)

HSH: What is one habit of your athletes that you wish you could change?

RC: I'll give you two - sleep (balancing study habits with the need for 8+ hours of consistent sleep) and the perfectionist/comparative mindset. When we stray from focusing on things we can control we often allow of joy to be stolen - so we try to teach the girls to run for each other but not compare.

HSH: If you could improve one area of your training program what would it be?

RC: Nutrition. Which is a main point of emphasis this year. I am bringing in health professionals, former runners and looking to create a healthy and consistent dialogue for the girls to be able to properly assess their habits and create or alter how they view nutrition for a more wholesome and balanced approach.

Chinese Pianist Shizhe Shen's Charity Work Inspires Building of a Charity Music Room after Her Name in Xiangxi

China; 16, December 2017: Many often, an artist becomes a philanthropist and dedicates his/her part of career life to charity. Chinese Pianist Shizhe Shen is one of those rare artists who inspire others with her music and charity works. Recently, a charity music room was built after her name in Xiangxi to commemorate her dedication to charity. When she moved to Europe, she also won several recognitions, such as the 1st prize at the Purcell School Concerto Competition, the 1st prize at the Christopher Duke Piano Competition and the 3rd prize at the Louisiana International Piano Competition. Now she is being invited to give many master classes in piano. As one of the most promising pianist of her generation, she has received many enthusiastic reviews as well. Professor Arie Vardi describes her as “a natural born performer and a great artist”. Shizhe Shen gave her first performance at the age of 7. Since then she has been invited to give numerous concerts at the most prestigious concert halls in China including the Changsha Concert Hall, Hunan Grand Theatre, Hunan Concert Hall, Kaiyuan Grand Theatre Concert Hall, Huangzhong Concert Hall, Bianzhong Concert Hall. As well as in Europe and the United States such as Steinway Concert Hall, Wigmore Hall, Coughlin-Saunders Concert Hall, Carnegie Hall, Reinberger Hall at Severance Hall in Cleveland, Ulsan Concert Hall (Korea), Rossini-Saal, Regentenbau Bad Kissingen (Germany), Krakow Philharmonic Hall, among others. Her performance of the Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto No.1 with the Rapides Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Maestro Roberto Gianola was successfully broadcasted over the world. As one of the most outstanding pianist of her generation, Shizhe Shen has been invited to perform at several music festivals such as "Kissinger Klavier Olympic" “30th Kissinger Sommer", Sommets Musicaux de Gstaad. She also played a few compositions by the famous French composer Thierry Escaich at the festival and received great recognition by the composer himself.
