Precious Offspring U8A8472 by Daniel D'Auria Via Flickr: A week doesn't seem like much time but it's amazing how much a young deer grows and accomplishes in such a short time. Still, a little fawn spends much of the day alone and in hiding until it has grown enough to keep up with the other deer. I am so grateful to have the opportunity to see them grow and I am humbled that their mothers feel that our yards are safe havens for their precious offspring.

October Surprise! 5 Years & Triple Coincidences - IMRAN™ Addicted to print magazine subscriptions since I was a teen, I sometimes end up having piles of unread ones. I’ve been going more & more digital only but the feel and pleasure of traditional newspapers and magazines is impossible to replicate. I can’t resist the urge to flip through the print versions before putting them out for recycling. How coincidental to flip open in October 2022 a copy of Redmond Magazine and notice that it is the October2017 issue, exactly 5 years ago! It was from right when I joined @Microsoft’s Customer Success Unit to drive Microsoft Office 365 & Teams consumption. The magazine also happens to be talking about a new feature in then-new Microsoft Teams, which is still one of my favorite products. Incredible how powerful Teams has gotten as a platform, and how much digital transformation and innovation it has helped my colleagues and me drive in global financial services. OK, back to reducing the piles of magazines. Let them Be 3I0321 by Daniel D'Auria Via Flickr: They walk on unsteady legs, are fully at the mercy of any creature that approaches, but they are, without doubt, masters of disguise. I cannot even estimate the number of times I have crossed their paths, only to be startled when they bolted away. Mom will leave them for many hours and sometimes days while off finding food. She returns to nurse her fawn in solitude and then coaxes it to stay put. They spend the majority of their first three weeks alone. Once they are able to keep up with mom she will allow them to follow. If you see a fawn bedded down, don’t assume it has been abandoned. It’s normal for them to be alone. Let them be. Mom will return.

New Kid in Town... 6952 by Daniel D'Auria Via Flickr: Spring is a favorite time of year but not because of its weather. I cherish the flurry of animal activity that characterizes the season. Most of all, I love the new lives coming into existence and watching them make their way through life. Yesterday’s new kid in town chose a neighbor’s garden to make her debut. Mom knows she is safe there while she goes out to forage. The evening light was beautiful filtering through the grass and the little fawn’s ears.

The best things about October: my birthday, spooky decorations, jack-o-lanterns, Pumpkin spice goodies, and Halloween movies.

Starfire’s green bolts would make great Jack-o-Lanterns. I also find it hilarious that Damian, being the awkward teen that he is, would let in real bats. He is the son of batman, so he must have plenty following him around to use.
