idk quite how to express this without sounding dismissive but it really grinds my gears when people equate getting like. a dark mark tattoo from harry potter with getting an actual hate symbol tattoo. not to say that it’s great to get the first one but it’s not the same at all and i think equating the two just really minimizes the significance of real life hate symbols
