so, i have been slacking in returning y’all’s tagged games and i felt really bad because some of them were writing tag games...and i had nothing to show for. HOWEVER! i have made a sort of bounce back with a lot of friends supporting me :)

Quentin isn’t sure why he continues to twiddle with the gold band around his ring finger while he’s not performing in front of an audience.

After every debriefing, he takes a bow as the curtain draws before him, the spotlight diminishing from his view, he can’t help but reach for it. The ring acts like some sort of tether, bound somewhere between the role Quentin plays and something far fetched...a yearning feeling that breaks his own heart at times. He can’t quite find the words to express how he feels but he knows to ignore such foolish longing.

favorite story you’ve wrote: hands down it’s νοσταλγία. this loki x reader story is something that was written in the spur of the moment and it’s about my favorite trope of all time (soulmate au). i tried a new approaching to writing and i am really happy with the outcome!! sometimes i forget that i actually wrote it sjdsajlda

a story you were nervous to post: like hannah said, all of them. authors always tend to be their own worst critics and i am no different. funny enough, i’ve actually taken down some stories i felt were just...not my strongest because they were a little embarrassing to have them up on display.

how do you choose your titles: hmm, great question! i know a lot of authors use lyrics as their titles nd like...i wish i had that kinda brand. most of the times, the title ties into the story and though it’s never stated in the story, it relates to what the story is about. some of my more “adventurous” titles revolve around foreign languages and sometimes inspired by song titles.

do you outline: HELL NAH! i have a vague concept, open up an empty text post, and ROLL WITH IT. however, with some stories, i do take a little bit of time to pinpoint crucial moments of the story but other than that...i just wing it, bro.

complete: what the fuck does this mean?? how many stories i’ve completed?? umm on this blog it’s 53? i think? i was counting fast. i did have more pero i deleted a lot of them during a spiral lmaoo

in-progress: according to my drafts, it’s 15 and they are all OVER the place. however, i do not plan on writing all of them. big sad let’s pour one out

coming soon: i know i piqued some of y’all’s interests when i said i’m stepping into the mysterio x reader fic world so i got sumn in the kitchen for y’all. surprisingly...if anyone is up to it....there’s some dbh leftovers in the fridge...

Oh there are so many, but I really love Pelion, the mountain where the centaurs supposedly lived. We’ve gone on vacation there many times and it has beautiful nature and Mylopotamos, one of my favourite beaches

Hi nonnie! Thank you for reading, I'm so happy to hear you like it!

To be honest, I'm always writing for Nostalgia, be it Nostalgia AUs or Winter Blurbs or whatever, but I have struggled a lot (a lot) with finding the motivation to post my work, so I end up working on stuff that I never polish enough to post or finish writing.

I have been trying to get myself to write and post again, and though I make no promises I've been more motivated to write for this fandom again as of late, and I have a couple of stories that I really want to get done so I can share them, so yeah. I'm still around, and so is Nostalgia 😊

TLDR: I'm not dead, just restin' 😅

I've recently found your blog and your stories but I'm already obsessed with your Ivar content, the Nostalgia fanfic is SO good 🛐 and I'm looking forward to the next update, which makes me wonder if you're still working on it or just. did you quit? I hadn't noticed the last update date 🥺.

The last update (speaking strictly of the chapters, not Winter Blurbs) was somewhere around June of 2021 I think 😔

I love the universe and characters of Nostalgia, and I do have plans of finishing it at some point, but for one I am struggling with motivation to write and delving into other fandosm/characters right now so it's quite difficult to face Nostalgia atm, and secondly, since I left for so long I want to have the ~5 chapters that are left done before posting any.

i hate to ask, but... is chapter 46 ever coming? i need to know... i have been in painful wait for so long...

I'm just getting back to posting my work here, so for now things will be very slow. I want to finish Nostalgia, but the next part of the story shouldn't have any big breaks in between chapters, so I wanna be certain I'll be back for good before I focus on it/start posting anything.

And in all honesty, the Winter Blurbs and AUs currently hold most of my Nostalgia energy, though there aren't many left of either (I have like three more blurbs planned before they are done, and AUs I'll probably post as drabbles and not a chronological/formal story or whatever). I plan on focusing on the main story of Nostalgia again once those are done, but again, things are very very slow rn

TLDR: It is coming, eventually, sometime, someday. I just have many other things I have/want to focus on before I can dedcate myself to the main story of Nostalgia again.

Hiya!!! I found your ongoing Greek mythology series while just randomly scrolling through the tag and had to tell you that it is one of the most beautiful pieces of writing I have ever read. I was completely captivated from the Prologue on and spent the better part of my day binging every chapter and other writing I could find. Hello, I'm a sociopath and need a detailed full mental and physical description of the priestess from Ivar's POV. I like Nostalgia a lot and need more, please never stop.

Hi sweetheart! I'll try to answer this to the best of my abilities under the cut!

Before that, about her physical description, she’s a reader insert as you know, so I never go into that, but I do have a face claim for her that helps me see her in my mind when I write, and that also gives me ground to build her mannerisms from, and that faceclaim is Catarina de Leon (played by Bruna Marquezine in the novela Deus Salve o Rei), I’m attatching some of my favorite gifs of her that are entirely the priestess to me (none of these belong to me, they are from pinterest):

Onto Ivar’s perspective of his wife, here I go (btw, beware spoilers, I’m assuming you’re up to date on the story):

Let’s start physically, without going into appearance because I just showed you and also I suck at descriptions:

To Ivar, and to everyone really, she seems much taller than she actually is, and at many times (especially once they are more physically intimate) Ivar will kinda be stunned by how small she actually is, especially in comparison to him, how breakable in a way (you betcha his issues about protecting his family get worse once he realizes she is so “fragile”).

She walks with an arrogance to her, a pride, a confidence (even if sometimes that is false confidence, a mask) that makes her look untouchable, that makes her impossibly taller than she is, that makes people, even Ivar, forget she is this woman that struggles with the weight of a sword. Ivar both loves and hates that arrogance of hers, that pride. He loves to hate it and hates to love it.

She furrows her nose when she’s annoyed, and Ivar finds it unbearably adorable. He has to stop himself from smiling when she does that because that only pisses her off further.

If someone holds her gaze, challenges her in some way, she juts her chin forward, lifting her head, and meets their eyes head on. She doesn’t really seem to mind having to look up at people (which Ivar cannot relate to, because he truly hates having to lift his head to stare at anyone in the eye).

Her hands are impossibly soft even though she works as a healer, and they are one of his favorite things about her. The delicate fingers, small hand compared to his, gentle touch. He loves seeing (and feeling) the contrast between her hands and his, he has actually discovered he calms down by playing with her fingers.

She smells like lavender because that is the oil she uses in her baths and the flowers she has taken for braiding into her hair the most often. On the topic of braiding, especially after Ch41, whenever she wears any kind of crown and braided flowers into her hair, he loses his breath a little.

She has soft skin and he loves touching her, for no other reason than touching her. He finds solace on touching her bare skin, so when they’re laying down he has his fingers running up and down her spine, when they are sitting together he throws her legs over his lap and goes up and down her calves or her thighs.

On the topic of her legs, he loves them, and he loves her ass. He is an ass man and I cannot be convinced otherwise.

For someone he first met while she was biting off a piece of a Vikings arm, it shouldn’t be so easy for her to make puppy eyes and have him bend to her will. But it is. She is a master of puppy eyes and when that fails she just says his name in a way that Ivar swears is some kind of spell that makes her do what she wants with voice alone.

On the topic of her voice, there is nothing he loves more. The drawl of her accent is simultaneously one of the hottest and most calming things about her. Her voice calms him down a lot, to the point that he asks her to speak (about anything, in any language) when he is stressed or in pain because it helps him a lot. Also, there’s this slight change to the timbre of her voice and the strength of her accent when she wants him that is a clearer tell than anything else.

Mental/Personality things now:

She curses in Greek, but when he replies in Greek (because she taught him, so that’s on her), she switches to Sogdian, a language from the Silk Roads.

Very early in their relationship Ivar caught up with her in regards to how she deals with people or issues when she feels cornered. She likes leading the conversation to a point where she can actually smart-ass her way out of the issue or press the person’s buttons enough that they deviate the issue elsewhere; and Ivar learns to play around that, pushing her buttons in kind.

She has one hell of a temper, and Ivar loves it. 70% of the time he just presses her buttons to see her angry, because it’s equally adorable and terrifying. And he loves seeing her when she gets jealous, he lives for his wife wanting to stake her claim.

One of the things Ivar was the most drawn to about her was how reluctant she was to admit she wanted blood as much as any of them, as much as him. She has a cruel side to her, a sadistic side (and not in the kinky way, though also yes, smutty winter blurb incoming about that btw, probably tonight/tomorrow), that he has seen her stop being ashamed of in the time they have been together (in the time she has been away from the Greeks) and he loves it.

Just as he was at the beginning, he is always bewitched by how easily she goes from soft and loving to cold and ruthless, and he takes pride in being the one that gets both sides of her.

If he interrupts her when she’s talking she gets exponentially more angry. Sometimes he does it on purpose. Most of the times he regrets it.

She would deny it to her very grave, because of course she would, but she is spoiled. And Ivar would deny it to his own, but he indulges her.

When she’s angry with him she’s as volatile as he is, and he actually likes that fire about her, he likes that she does not fear to go head on to fight him. That is why when she is beyond angry and she grows cold he hates it more than anything, those are the times when he truly fears he has done something that will cost him her, when she doesn’t fight him.

She’s a touchy drunk and Ivar both loves it (he preens under the attention, and this boy likes praise more than you think) and hates it (a dog with a bone would be more subtle about keeping people away than Ivar is whenever she is tipsy and decides she will hug and snuggle everyone).

She flinches whenever a fire is breathed too much ilfe, and she always sits away from open flames when she is stressed. She isn’t aware of that, but Ivar is, and that is one of the early tells that she is struggling with something.

Even if he doesn’t share her Gods, he admires her devotion to her Gods and her ways, and he’s endlessly fascinated by her bond with the divine, since to some degree he still believes she was sent to him by Freyja. He truly believes she has sight, and he will listen to her if she tells him to do or not do something because of something she has foreseen.

On the topic of listening to her, he knows how smart his wife is, and he adores that about her. Especially because he recognizes how smart and resourceful he is, it always makes him stand a little taller when she turns big eyes to him and asks him to teach her something (from something about his culture/ways, to something regarding war or battle, and anything in between)

I am by no means well-informed, don’t quote me, but I’ll try to provide some meaning to words not translated in that quote: Thûmos is used by Homer to mean emotions or urges, while Plato puts it as one of the three parts of the soul, meaning spiritedness (that which allows for emotion); Tîmai is the sphere of influence of a God, though in this case it refers to the honors paid to the Gods (Homer used it abstractly to refer to the elements that serve as tokens of honor for a hero’s doings); and Dikê is used by Homer as to mean a claim to a legal dispute, or judgement, and it is also the name of the Goddess of Justice; and Menos means anger, spirit, power, among other things.

Fun fact that has nothing to do with this: one of Persephone’s names, Praxidike, used in an Orphic Hymn, is to mean ‘that who enforced justice/punishment’, bc Persephone and Dike are sometimes tied together. Also, Praxidike is the name of a Nostalgia AU I have on the works lol.

hello!! if you’d like, I have a follow-up nostalgia question! i really loved your response about how staying in kattegat would affect the priestess as a healer, and it made me curious about how the ppl in her life react to that if you’ve thought about it. do freydis and valdís notice some of the changes in how she treats patients (both in terms of how she lets herself bond with patients and the treatments themselves)? are they the ones to teach her some of the more local remedies/practices? is she harassing some poor elder instead (gotta be like teaching a really crabby teen to drive)?? does ivar notice the new lack of distance (i.e. the queen taking house calls) and willingness to learn their ways? all of these relationships are so dynamic and it’s really fun to think about how they evolve!

Hi lovely! Sorry it's taken me this long to answer, it is a lovely question, I just haven't been on Tumblr much lately.

I think out of Freydis and Valdís it would of course be Freydis the first one to notice the change, and the first one to figure out why that change happened, but Valdís would probably figure out something happened in between Ivar returning from England (the battle for Strepshire) and the start of the winter that made her let go of a mask of sorts, the interpersonal aspect of the change being the most apparent one. In the treatments she would be very careful not to let them know she is bending to their methods/system for healing, so it would take a more observant eye to notice, and 100% she wouldn't go to Valdís or Freydis to teach her, because a) she's too arrogant to accept them teaching her anything, and b) in practice they most likely have little to teach her (to the extent that an elder could, for example).

And yeah, she'd be a nightmare to teach anything, the poor woman she decides will teach her probably just dives behind a table to pretend she isn't there whenever the priestess walks in lmao. But yeah, there's a lot of reluctance to let go of old ways, and there's also a lot of 'but why's and 'my way is better's thrown around that probably make everyone grow gray hairs. But she learns and she gets better, and whenever she gets too annoying Valdís probably throws her over her shoulder and just drops her off at the longhouse ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Yep, Ivar definitely notices. And you bet he takes the extra attention she gives to her patients or the women of the apothecary as to mean she is giving less attention to him, and you bet he whines about it. But she has always kinda gone to him first when it comes to learning new things about their people (think her learning about food and stuff in those first weeks before the wedding and all), and she continues to do so, especially when it comes to tradition and the reasons behind many things (things that are more cultural, like for example why their stance on losing limbs is what it is, or how infections on tattoos are treated -she'd have no care for the actual ink traces if htey get on the way of healing, but maybe his people would, and she learns that stuff from him-). But yeah, he notices of course that her disposition towards the people she heals changes too, and past stupid jealousy that she is giving them more attention than him lol, Ivar would understand the reason why and actually be pretty happy to see that change. It works as yet another confirmation that she truly is there to stay, that she doesn't have second thoughts.

And Ivar is the only one to know she cried like a fucking baby when she found out a woman she helped through a very difficult pregnancy named her child after the priestess (it's just a hc so it's not well thought out, but I always figured either a play with the priestess' name or outright something in Greek) 😊

hello! i have a✨nostalgia winter question✨ if it sounds fun! we’ve seen the priestess starting to embrace her role as queen but i wondered if her choosing to stay also would affect her approach to her role as a healer now that it’s a permanent gig? i remember her mentioning how different it was to be a healer among her own ppl than on the silk roads—do you think she thinks about her role/patients a little differently now that she is really starting to think of kattegat as home (i.e. freydis noticing her being more open and teaching some of the younger girls in until spring comes)? Hello sweetheart! Of course, I love answering these!!

That is a very interesting question! I'll answer under the cut, because, as usual, I rambled 😉

As we know, whenever she can she puts her role as healer to the forefront, even sometimes without realizing it, like in that flashback scene with Freydis in "Until spring comes." or her second interaction with Ubbe in Ch43; because it is the thing that in any variation of this story she would be.

The other titles (Anassa, Hiereia , and -in Alatheia- Queen and wife) come and go, but the one thing she always will be, because she made the choice to so long ago, is a healer.

That affects her relationships, everything about her. From the start, the women she finds herself trusting she meets through her skill as a healer. Hell, the reason she and Ivar get to talking in Chapter 1 is because this crazy fuck injures himself so she's forced to heal him/talk to him. And to the people of Kattegat, she becomes more human the more she works as a healer with them, they come to care and admire or love her because of her skill as a healer, long before she even steps up as their queen.

I think her role itself doesn't change, but her acceptance of the closeness that bond represents does. She cares about the people she heals, even if she doesn't know them (the woman and child she couldn't save in the Ch40 flashback, for example), and that doesn't change in Kattegat, even if she would want it to. So now that's she's staying, now that these are in fact her people, there's a noticeable lack of distance she keeps between them and herself, and the people notice. There's at least one family that has the permission orders, more likely lol to have word sent to the queen of fucking Kattegat (even if she's in her bedroom with her husband) if their baby is to be born or some complications with the pregnancy take place (a tiny scene in Ch44); and that is a closeness, a concern, a care, that she didn't let herself have. Because, even if evidence pointed to the contrary, she liked believing she kept her distance and didn't form close bonds in her time in Kattegat. Which is, and I cannot stress this enough: utter bullshit.

There's a lot of smaller changes that have to do with the practice in itself. She has to come to terms with there being some remedies she will never make again, some techniques she will never put to practice again, because she doesn't have the ingredients and whatnot; and there's a certain bittersweetness with that, because even if Kattegat is a trading hub and she has access to a lot of imported materials, it will never be like the Silk Roads she spent her life in. Then again, there's a lot that she reluctantly has to accept she must learn, now that it's a 'permanent gig' (love that wording btw), because there are many ingredients/techniques she doesn't know of. I pity the fool that has to tell her she's doing something the wrong way, or try teaching her something about healing, but hey, it is what it is 😂

Then there's a lot of little things around the topic of healing that show things have changed: teaching younger girls how to dry and store plants like you mentioned as this closer bond she forms with these women, taking care of the more sickness-related problems that arise in Kattegat during the winter which is something she takes in and makes sure she can prepare for when next winter comes, being much more involved (her subtle way of accepting that this is something she has to learn about because she knows jackshit) in pregnancy and childbirth within Viking tradition; and all these little things.
