Fun Fact
BuzzFeed published a report claiming that Tumblr was utilized as a distribution channel for Russian agents to influence American voting habits during the 2016 presidential election in Feb 2018.
Ohhh ya little bollocks, picked the wrong fucking one
Israel's BIG MAD Ireland isn't fucking bowing to them right now. Thanks to their shit, Paddy Cosgrave and President Michael D Higgins seem to be the biggest villains in Ireland right now.
So one of their 'diplomats' decided to fuck around and got caught. How many inflammatory Tweets filled with accusation and lies have genocide advocates had to delete these last 2 weeks?
EXPEL THE ISRAELI AMBASSADOR.
IRELAND STANDS WITH PALESTINE.
🇵🇸✊🇮🇪
From the article:
"Adi Ophir Maoz, the deputy head of mission in Dublin, stated: “#Ireland Wondering who funded those tunnels of terror? A short investigation direction - 1. Find a mirror 2. Direct it to yourself 3. Voilà”"
irelanders, if you haven't already, please check out the Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign! On their homepage, they have two email/phone drives worth partaking in, and a list of marches to attend!
To the Irish among us, there's a vote in the Dáil tomorrow about sanctioning israel and calling for a ceasefire in Gaza/ending settler violence in the OPT. Highly recommend emailing TDs and encouraging them to vote in favour! I'll put links to the motion and a pre-written email in the reblogs for convenience
We are so deeply thankful to Irish EMP Clare Daly for these words of support. Including her last words in Catalan taking a stand against Catalanophobia, even when her microphone was cut off.
Context about the debate: recently, the only way for the centre-left parties to form a government in Spain was with support from Catalan parties (otherwise, we would have to go to 3rd elections and the coalition of right wing party and the openly fascist party would win). One of the things that has been negotiated is amnesty for the victims of Spain's ideological repression against Catalan independentists. Spanish nationalists, and particularly the neonazis, have taken the streets to protest against this, while the conservative parties have taken this possible amnesty to the European Parliament to try to gather support from other EU countries against any possible amnesty for the victims of ideological persecution.
Just so you get an idea of the scale of Spain's repression in Catalonia: only between 2017 and 2022, more than 4,400 Catalan people have suffered repression from Spain for their involvement in the Catalan independence movement. The cases that EMP Clare Dally mentions in the video (state surveillance using the Israeli spy software Pegasus to spy on political dissidents including journalists and politicians, repeated instances of police violence, and of undercover policemen who become romantically and sexually involved with the activists they're spying, singers being jailed and exiled for the lyrics of their songs) are some of the ways that Spain surveillances and persecutes Catalans.
This possible amnesty would not apply to all those 4,400, nor give back the years that sons spent without their jailed fathers and mothers, the elderly parents who died while an activist was on exile without being allowed to come back to say goodbye, the psychological consequences of being subjected to solitary confinement and public scrutiny, of Spanish media publishing your personal information (including home address, job address, face photos, full name and surname) for people to go attack your workplace and make you feel unsafe, or the money spent on trying to defend yourself in front of a judge who you know will likely punish you for defending your people's right to self-determination. But even then, they can't stand to think that amnesty is an option to make this political discussion happen in the political ground, and not the judicial one.
Thank you with all our heart to Clare Dally and all the Irish people who support us and show us their solidarity. Go raibh maith agat. Two peoples, same fight.
It's 3am in Ireland now so I have to go to bed. I'll be back to resume live updates when I wake.
For now I leave you with this video of Irish politician Richard Boyd Barrett calling for sanctions on Israel and expulsion of the Israeli Ambassador from Ireland, along with calling for summoning Israel to court for crimes against humanity

Songs about Ireland / In Irish that I would recommend EVERYONE to listen to.
Firstly, we have Sinéad O'Connor's song 'Famine'. Sinéad was an Irish singer-songwriter and a prominent activist. A very interesting figure, who wrote beautifully poignant songs on issues Ireland faced in the 90's in particular, but these songs still remain very relevant today. This song deals with the truth behind the so-called famine in Ireland, and has been deemed controversial since Sinead first performed it.
Of course, next we have Hozier. 'Butchered Tongue' is a wistful song about the decline in the Irish language and Irish culture. It also touches on the pitchcapping of Irish Rebels during the 1798 rebellion against the british. Yes I cried when hearing this song for the first time.
Another Hozier song, that actually surprised me a lot, is 'De Selby (part 1)'. This song is the first time I have heard the Irish language in a song by a globally popular artist. The idea that this song was played, that Irish was played across the world still amazes me. See my translation for this song here. This song is incredibly beautiful.
A band that sings in Irish is Dysania, and I would really recommend their song 'Lasú Croí'. The song slaps, and they are incredible for keeping our language alive through modern music. I'd also recommend 'Bothar Briste'.
Another band that sings as gaeilge is IMLÉ. I'd recommend 'Éad' and 'Go Deo, Go Deo.' Their songs are incredibly moving, 'Go Deo, Go Deo' kinda reminds me of a calmer version of 'Army Dreamers' by Kate Bush.
'The Town I Left Behind' is also a classic song that practically every Irish person knows. I would personally recommend The Dubliner's version. As well as this I would recommend listening to 'Grace', and 'The Foggy Dew'. All these songs deal with Ireland's history in some way - from the troubles to the 1916 rising.
'Isle of Hope, Isle of Tears' is another well-known song that I particularly remember learning in primary school. The Irish-Americans might be interested in this one - it's a song about the mass immigration to America during the Famine.
If you vote no on a referendum trying to help people simply because you want to see a word in the constitution i actually think youre too childish to vote
