three facts:  

1. the company i work for has so little funds that today our internet got shut off. someone please hire me, i need to get out of here.

2. i’m ridiculously ambitious and impressively slow, which works out about as well as you’d think. my attention span is also in the negatives, which would have the effect you’d imagine.

3. comedy is the most important thing.

EXPERIENCE :

how long (months/years?): on tumblr, this is year 10. in total, around 20.

how’d you start: back in the day there were these things called shrines, and any good one had a chatbox embedded in its sidebar. some people would leave regular normie comments, but other people would, say, fill in the name field with something like “goku” or “kagome” and in the message field, they’d write a statement as though they were that character. this was my first exposure to RP. my initial messages were as zria/zorya from shaman king.

MUSE  PREFERENCES :

female or male: in terms of OCs, i skew heavily female. why? idk maybe they’re nicer to look at. in terms of canons, i skew heavily male, because there is a distinct shortage of appealing female characters. ¯\_ (ツ)_/¯

favorite face: i have so many fcs for so many muses not even on tumblr, but if i restrict myself to the on-blog muses, it’s definitely this cherub. i don’t think it hits the same without context, because i’ve tried showing the scene to others and they haven’t had the same reception, but this is one of the most beautiful moments i’ve seen in a manga in a long time.

least favorite face: again, limiting myself to muses on this blog, it’s this one...surprise? there are other non-manga fcs that suit naux better, but i’m not sure how this community would receive her if i changed it up. then again, it’s not like she’s seen much action lately anyway...

WRITING  PREFERENCES :

fluff, angst or smut:  i mean. does it really come down to candy, sex, or sadness? do people not write about other things? i’m more or less okay with any of those, but you know what i never see on tumblr anymore? adventures. mysteries. plot-based things instead of little character vignettes. i’m not opposed to those, but sometimes you can’t help craving something a little more substantial...

plots or memes: i want to plot more with people, but nothing ever pans out ): historically, i guess i’d prefer memes just to break the ice or generate ideas, but my inbox has been a little sparse lately...

are you like your muse(s): i mean, if you voltron them together, of course something will hit. everyone puts at least a little bit of themselves into their writing. the human ego is too persistent for a writer to be totally divorced from their work, etc, or something.

i know my blog is a mess right now and there are character pages missing and all that, but believe me when i say i’m working on it...slowly. i’ve got two jobs at the moment, so i only really have 2 days off every 12 days. that also explains the slow replies. after the holidays, things should hopefully speed up a bit, but until then...thank you to everyone patient enough to stick by despite everything!! that means more to me than words can express.

Last song:    my sister and i were just singing “we love you conrad” from bye bye birdie to our dog if that counts 9. Last film / show:    like much of twitter, i missed the end of the emmys (because CBS decided to not exist), but it’s okay because that means i didn’t have to see hamilton win anything. also miracle workers. it’s a good show, but if you need convincing to watch, it has daniel radcliffe dancing very sexually to “she’ll be coming round the mountain when she comes.” 10. Recent reads:    i have at least 12 tabs open on my phone with different manga, but i couldn’t tell you the titles off the top of my head and i think that says a lot. go read chainsaw man before the anime comes out. i promise the fandom isn’t that annoying if you ignore makima fans. 11. Inspiration: sometimes music, but i am incredibly picky, so most won’t do anything for me...movies work much better, especially if they’re overflowing with chintzy emotion. in terms of general characterwork, i’m often inspired by fashion and interior design. who would wear this outfit and why? what kind of person lives here? that sort of thing.  12. Story behind url:    gokiburikko = gokiburi + burikko. “gokiburi” is japanese for cockroach, and conveys a sense of resilience and determination. to be a cockroach is to be unbeatable—to stand tall, even when the world doesn’t want you. burikko is a pejorative japanese term for someone who acts overly cutesy, particularly in a way that is often perceived as fake (to curry favor). if that’s what it takes to survive...do you know which character this refers to? 13.
