True Intentions
So, the latest Pokemon Masters event gave me Feelings, and therefore I had to write something for it.
Needless to say, this contains Pokemon Masters event spoilers, verbal/mental abuse, and one reference to physical child abuse.
And in case the “read more” breaks, this is also tagged as a long post.
N stepped into the cave, his heart thudding. He could see the oh-so familiar cloaked figure in the distance, and he swallowed hard. He was not alone, for which he was very grateful, but companionship was not doing much to assist his nerves.
‘You’re sure about this?’ his companion dubiously asked. In Nate’s opinion, N was making a huge mistake, and it was not yet too late to turn back.
‘Yes. This is the answer I’ve come to. I’m sure,’ N insisted, and Nate held back a sigh. Damn it. ‘...Thank you for coming with me, though.’
‘It’s fine,’ Nate replied. ‘I wouldn’t want you to go and see him alone.’
‘Mmmm,’ N murmured. He knew only too well that Nate had a point. ‘We need to be careful when dealing with a man like… him.’
N had tripped over his words. He was uncertain how to refer to the man they were meeting. “Ghetsis”? “Father”? As much as he wanted to call the man “Father”... it was too soon. Much too soon for that.
‘I’m still a little worried,’ N confessed, after a pregnant pause.
‘Yeah, well no matter what happens, I’m on your side,’ Nate promised.
‘Thank you…’
Any further conversation was cut off,  by a sudden interruption.
‘N! You’ve come to see me!’ a voice called out. For a moment, N froze; when they entered, Ghetsis had his back to them. His and Nate’s conversation had been in whispers, and he had assumed Ghetsis had not seen them yet.
He shook himself out of his reverie, his face calm, stoic, as he turned to lock eyes once again with the man he called Father, his abuser.
At least in appearance, Ghetsis had not changed. N sincerely hoped that was the only thing that remained static. Incredibly tall, Ghetsis towered over those he met, and his own son was no exception. He still used a cane. N’s gaze lowered to the gloved hand that held onto it, as his mind helplessly wandered to thoughts of what was hidden beneath the cloak. Was Ghetsis’ health the same? Had it improved? Or perhaps worsened?
That was the most likely scenario; Ghetsis always had a great love of expensive wines, scotches and other such alcoholic drinks, and it had taken its toll on him. Combined with one arm, the nerves permanently damaged by his Hydreigon, Ghetsis was an incredibly unhealthy man.
N lifted his head, staring his father in the eyes. One was still covered, and the other just as vividly scarlet as he remembered. It was difficult for him to maintain eye contact, but he forced himself to push through it.
‘I’ve come to let you know my answer,’ N declared. He had taken a quiet, deep breath in before speaking, to ensure his voice would not wobble, nor crack.
His head had been spinning, ever since Ghetsis initially approached him. Wanting to be a father to him again…
Though in order for him to be a father “again”, he had to have been one before. N knew that, deep down. But it was a thought he tried to keep pushed to the back of his mind.
‘Let’s send out our Pokemon,’ N added, when Ghetsis remained silent, just observing him.
Zekrom and Kyurem were both released from their Pokeballs, two thirds of the Tao Trio coming eye to eye with one another again for the first time in years.
‘Well? What’s your answer?’ Ghetsis demanded. Still so impatient.
‘...I don’t think it’s possible for us to become a true father and son so easily…’ N cautiously replied. His nerves were threatening to spill over, and he grabbed the brim of his cap. Something to focus on, while under his father’s scarlet gaze. ‘But… if you’ve really had a change of heart, and are seriously prepared to face people and Pokemon, then… maybe one day, it will be. That’s why I need you to show me that you have love in your heart -’
Ghetsis, the lower half of his face hidden by his incredibly high collar, clenched his jaw together tightly. How the fuck was he going to do that?
‘- through battle!’
Oh. The former Plasma leader relaxed. That was alright, then.
‘Father!’ The word escaped N’s lips, as he called out to the man before him. Ghetsis’ eyes slid shut.
‘I am grateful you’ve given me this opportunity…’ he started, his voice soft. N’s demeanour changed a little - Ghetsis was accepting what he said? Then maybe, just maybe, he had been telling the truth, after all! If Ghetsis could work on his issues, and treat those around him like human beings, and N himself like one, instead of an extension of Ghetsis, then -
‘Thank you for this chance.’ Ghetsis’ voice pulled N out of his thoughts again. The Plasma leader’s face twisted into a wicked grin, as he leant forward on his cane, a malicious glint in his eye. ‘To capture Zekrom for myself!’
No. No, please, God, no -
‘What?’ N gasped. The words left him winded, as though Ghetsis had struck him with his cane.
And it was a feeling he remembered all too well.
‘Now! Restrain Zekrom!’ Ghetsis commanded, his voice thunderous, as N tried to wrap his head around what was going on.
How could you be so stupid? Of COURSE Ghetsis was going to betray you, it’s what he DOES! the former king mentally chastised. How could he have been taken in so well? How, even now, with years free from Ghetsis’ influence, could he still be so easily manipulated?
As Ghetsis slammed his cane down on the rocky ground, several unfamiliar figures in black and white masks suddenly leapt out, having been waiting for Ghetsis’ signal. More Pokeballs were flung into the air, as more Pokemon were sent out, between N and Ghetsis.
Crackles of electricity zapped around Zekrom, the giant legendary held in place. N had frozen up again, feeling helpless, lost for what to do.
‘Zekrom!’ he cried.
‘It can’t move,’ Ghetsis said, a sinister chuckle coming forth. ‘I took special measures to use Pokemon that can hold it in place.’
N’s hands clenched into tight fists, shaking. How could I be so stupid? The entire thing had been a scam. Not only had Ghetsis prepared his Hydreigon to counter his team, not only had he made sure the Shadow Triad had Pokemon that could take down Zekrom, he had now done the same thing again on Pasio, to ensure he got what he wanted!
And like a fool, I fell for it, N’s mind traitorously whispered.
‘What d’you think you’re doing?!’ Nate angrily snapped. He looked as though, if the Pokemon were not there, he would run at Ghetsis and try to physically attack him.
‘I can’t believe you’d actually do such a thing…’ N’s voice was flat, hollow, belying the deep sense of betrayal that was rooting him on the spot.
‘Of course I would!’ Ghetsis taunted, cackling. In typical Ghetsis style, he seemed to be relishing rubbing salt into the wound. When he spoke again, his voice was a disdainful sneer, not making the slightest effort to mask his contempt for his own child. ‘I only put on that ridiculous act so that I could get my hands on Zekrom! That is all you’re worth to me! As if we could be a true family! Me? With a freak like you?!’
N’s jaw was clamped tightly shut, only barely managing to contain an outburst of pain at Ghetsis’ words. He had heard that insult too many times.
“He’s nothing more than a freak without a human heart!”
“DON’T TALK LIKE A PERSON, YOU FREAK!”
He had lost count of just how many times that word had been wielded like a weapon against him throughout his entire life. Every time he had attempted to talk to his father, particularly about his ability to talk to Pokemon, it had always gone the same way.
And that was no doubt the reason why, as an adult, he was still being called a freak. Because Ghetsis had always refused to believe his claims.
The fight had left N, and he did not bother to counter his father’s harsh words. But Nate was livid.
‘How dare you play with N’s feelings like that?!’ he yelled, launching his Pokeball into the air, Braviary bursting from it. ‘I’m going to help N protect Zekrom!’
With an instruction to attack, and N still paralysed, Nate began to battle the Team Break grunts that had gathered under Ghetsis’ command, and easily took them down. As the last opposing Pokemon fell, Ghetsis’ expression twitched, ever so slightly.
‘...Not bad,’ he conceded. ‘I can feel your anger!’ And it fuelled him.
‘Next is the pair holding down Zekrom!’ Nate declared. The Team Break trainer in question looked concerned as Nate attacked again.
‘That’s enough.’
A new, commanding voice interjected, as yet another Pokemon appeared. The sleek, yet threatening form of Mewtwo landed between Ghetsis and Team Break, and N and Nate, pushing the latter two back. Mewtwo extended one arm, launching a hard blast of psychic power, taking Braviary down. Trying not to panic, Nate recalled his Pokemon before it could hit the ground, as N gawped at the newcomer.
‘Is… is that…?’ His voice trailed off, his eyes wide in horror when he recognised his father’s ally.
‘Stay out of my way,’ Giovanni warned, his voice a low snarl. He looked almost exactly as N remembered. He had not seen anything of Team Rocket himself, not even on the news; Ghetsis had done too good a job when Team Rocket were around, of keeping N secluded and ignorant of the outside world. But the boy had heard things from his sisters, and done his own research since escaping Team Plasma.
This Giovanni did not look too dissimilar to the man he had seen in photos. Perhaps a little older, his face slightly more lined. A few flecks of grey in an otherwise jet black head of hair. But the biggest difference, was the symbol emblazoned on the breast of his jacket. Not a red R, but multicoloured. Reds, yellows, greens and blues, one colour transforming into the other.
Rainbow Rocket Giovanni rolled up a sleeve. In doing so, he revealed not just the fact that his arm was so heavily tattooed that his skin colour could not be seen, but more importantly, the Mega Bracelet enclosed around his wrist.
‘Giovanni?’ N questioned, as the man in question approached, coming to a stop beside Mewtwo. ‘W-What are you doing here?’
The realisation that an already bad situation had just gotten worse caused N’s voice to crack. Which in turn made Ghetsis smirk. N was afraid. Good.
‘I just so happened to meet Ghetsis, while recruiting Team Break members,’ Giovanni explained. The apparently leaderless team had been like a gift for him. Already organised, already with their own Pokemon, all they needed was someone to take them under their wing. Someone to guide them.
And who better than Giovanni?
‘He told me all about his plans. And if he’s able to get his hands on your Zekrom, then that works out perfectly for me.’
In just getting him this far, this Ghetsis had already proven himself to be much more useful than the one he had already met and recruited into Rainbow Rocket. But, Giovanni was a smart man. He knew that the Rainbow Rocket Ghetsis had already tried to manipulate him, and was absolutely prepared for the current Ghetsis to try and do the same. Ghetsis no doubt had his own hidden agenda, but he was certainly not the only one.
‘Yes, so I should thank you for gathering these pawns, and sharing your information with me,’ Ghetsis smirked. ‘I’ll be sure to return the favour. Now, our preparations are complete! I will soon possess a legendary that combines two powers!’
‘No…!’ Nate gasped.
‘The fusion of Kyurem and Zekrom…’ N murmured, the memories of the exact same thing happening before flying through his mind.
‘Watch this moment closely!’ Ghetsis cried out, as he approached the trapped Zekrom, Giovanni keeping close behind him.
‘Zekrom!’ N called.
‘Ghetsis, don’t do it!’ Nate added. He knew too well that there was no way Ghetsis would listen, but without his Pokemon and badly outnumbered, there was not much else he could do.
‘Kyurem! Absorb Zekrom, use Absofusion!’ Ghetsis ordered, an unhinged, determined grin set upon his face.
‘Now’s my chance,’ Giovanni quietly said, watching the scene intently. He snapped his fingers. ‘Do it.’
Mewtwo reappeared, floating in the gap between the two other legendaries, facing Kyurem down.
‘What the -?’ Nate spluttered. N looked similarly taken aback.
‘They stopped them from fusing?’ he questioned, not entirely certain whether he believed what he was seeing.
‘What do you think you’re doing?’ Ghetsis spat, glowering at Giovanni. He slammed his cane on the ground again. ‘Giovanni!’
‘Well, you see… I too have a plan,’ Giovanni replied. ‘I know how you operate, Ghetsis. Perhaps a little too well, and the way I see it, once you have both of these legendaries under your command, your next move will be to secure more pawns to make use of. And as these Team Break members answer to me, I know that it’d be me you target next.’
Ghetsis remained silent, teeth bared. As Giovanni observed him, he could see that he had been completely right. Granted, it would not have been out of character for Ghetsis to lie, and claim he had nothing of the sort planned, but he surmised Ghetsis would only have done that if he were calmer. And the ex Plasma leader, as he was currently, looked apoplectic with rage.
Ghetsis’ raging, hateful silence was the only answer Giovanni required.
‘So, I intend to take Kyurem and Zekrom before that can happen!’
‘How cunning,’ Ghetsis hissed. ‘But it’s too little, too late.’
More masked members of Team Break appeared, again, on Ghetsis’ cue, standing beside him, as Giovanni’s eyes widened, just for a second.
‘What?’
‘You are not the only one who has a talent for convincing people to join you,’ Ghetsis gloated. ‘I am more than capable of that, too! A faction of Team Break is already under my command!’
Oh, shit. This was not what Giovanni had in mind. He knew exactly what Ghetsis was planning, yet the son of a bitch still out-witted him!
Despite his inner panic, the Rainbow Rocket leader’s expression continued to be a smug grin, as though it was all a game they were playing. He would be damned if he was going to let Ghetsis know that he was rattled.
‘I guess I underestimated you after all,’ he admitted. ‘In that case… Mewtwo, get them!’
‘Rise! We must defeat Giovanni!’ Ghetsis roared.
‘...So they’ve broken their alliance,’ N mused, as more Pokemon were sent out. With the attention mostly taken off Zekrom, N felt he could breathe a little more easily. ‘...I suppose they were never actually allies in the first place…
‘I want to help Zekrom, but there are way too many Pokemon over there…’ Nate fretted.
‘Go, Volcarona!’
Another new voice entered the fray, as a familiar Volcarona appeared over N’s head, striking the Team Break Pokemon. As they were knocked out, N and Nate spun around on their heels to see the former champion, Alder Castillo, striding forward. He was staring directly at Ghetsis, his expression set into a look of grim determination, with a young redhead behind him.
‘Alder! Silver!’ Nate greeted, a wave of relief washing through him to have some backup.
‘I had an unpleasant feeling that something bad would happen,’ Alder stated. The sensation of foreboding had been with him ever since he learnt Ghetsis was back. He knew that N had been ambivalent about forgiving him, and having a proper father and son relationship with the man again. And Alder did not want to completely squash his hopes of that happening. He had been direct with stating that he did not trust Ghetsis, but seeing the look of utter defeat in the young boy’s eyes, Alder had to wonder just what he had missed. That maybe he had not been severe enough. Perhaps he should have explicitly told N not to trust his despicable excuse for a “father”, even for the faintest fraction of a second. ‘I’m glad we made it in time. We took care of the Team Break members at the entrance, but reinforcements are on their way right now! We need to get out of here!’
Silver, the young redhead, was not paying any attention to Alder. Nor was he even paying any attention to Ghetsis. No, his gaze was firmly on Giovanni, and his expression was one of hatred.
‘Oh?’ Giovanni questioned, glancing over. He was uncertain how to react, so he kept the same usual smug demeanour. This boy was not his Silver, but was a Silver. And clearly things had gone the same way between him and his Giovanni, as they had in the Rainbow Rocket leader’s timeline.
‘I have more important things to worry about right now, than him,’ Silver declared, without giving one single fuck about the fact that his voice was loud enough for Giovanni to hear. Not that Giovanni seemed bothered. He was used to it from his own Silver. ‘Come on, hurry up!’
Now freed, N turned back to the rest of the group to see Zekrom land before him.
‘I’m so glad you’re okay…’ he murmured, relief sparkling in his eyes.
‘Let’s get out of here,’ Nate urged.
Sensing that the situation was no longer in their favour, the Team Break grunts who had followed Ghetsis began to retreat, much to his annoyance.
‘Tch… Worthless fools,’ he growled.
‘Now that a former champion has arrived, I suppose I have no choice but to give up on Zekrom,’ Giovanni decided. For now. ‘Kyurem, on the other hand, will be mine.’
‘I warned you before…’ Ghetsis started, his voice dripping with rage, before suddenly ramping up to a scream, ‘NOT TO UNDERESTIMATE ME!’
The cane struck the ground, as Kyurem roared. Alder winced at the noise, but Giovanni seemed unbothered. A snap of his fingers later, and he was gone, along with Mewtwo. Alder glanced back, seeing N approach, and noticed how the boy looked mentally exhausted. It was no surprise, Alder guessed that N must felt like he had been put through the wringer.
Because he had been. He was about to speak up, to try and reach out to N, when Nate interrupted with another insistence that they should leave. He was right, the less time they spent in the cave, the better. Giovanni might have been gone, but there was still Ghetsis to contend with.
N stopped before he reached Alder and Nate. And, without breathing a word, he turned his back, and strode over to his father.
‘...What?’ Ghetsis questioned, a look of annoyed confusion on his face. N refused to clarify, but stayed by his side.
‘What are you doing? Just leave him!’ Silver irritably told N.
‘Yes, what are you doing?’ Ghetsis agreed, clearly as baffled as his son’s friends.
‘...I want to save Kyurem, regardless of whose Pokemon it is. Even if that means I have to help you...’ N finally answered, without looking at any of them. Part of him had to wonder what the hell he was doing, siding up with Ghetsis, after how Ghetsis had betrayed him, insulted him, and openly laughed about it. He told himself that he was not doing this for Ghetsis’ sake, or even his own.
This was for Kyurem.
‘...I won’t call you my father, Ghetsis.’ That was fine with the Plasma leader. His skin always crawled when that word left N’s mouth. Disgusting. N turned and looked at him. ‘But if you co-operate, I’ll help you get out of this!’
‘I see. Very well. That’s convenient for me,’ Ghetsis replied. No “thank you”, but of course not. N had never gotten a “please” or a “thank you” from Ghetsis in his life, and he definitely did not expect that to change now. ‘Let’s take him down, N!’
‘N and Ghetsis, standing side by side…’ Nate muttered. The idea left him unsettled. It was wrong. He brought the Pokeball with his unconscious Braviary in it up to his mouth, whispering to it, as he used a revive. ‘Just a little longer, we need to help N…’
‘Hey!’ Silver called out, as Nate and Braviary took off.
‘It’s too late to stop them. Let’s just make sure that they have a safe escape route,’ Alder told the redhead.
‘The plan is to hold off Mewtwo until he can’t come after you any more, alright?’ N told his father.
‘Yes,’ Ghetsis crisply agreed.
‘Well, why don’t we put it to the test?’ Giovanni questioned, as he was joined by his own Team Break grunts again, now they had recovered from the previous fight. ‘Let’s see what your little father-son team up can do!’
Nate’s Braviary, and the two other legendaries opposing Giovanni started the battle, fighting ferociously against the Rainbow Rocket leader and his underlings. It was not long until it was just the legendaries against each other, and with Mewtwo outnumbered, it was Giovanni’s team that fell.
‘...Hmph, I suppose that does surpass my expectations,’ he reluctantly confessed.
‘After him!’ Ghetsis then commanded.
‘No! You remember what I said earlier, don’t you?! We’re getting out of here!’ N countered.
‘What?’ Ghetsis hissed, angry that N spoke back to him. But he could see that this time, N was not going to be moved. ‘Fine.’
‘Too bad,’ Giovanni said to himself, as the others left. ‘This would have been so much easier had you stayed here...’ He glanced to the cave exit. ‘Go after them.’
‘Hey!’
Giovanni had assumed that it was just him, Mewtwo, and his underlings left. That the others had all left with Ghetsis and N. So he was surprised when he saw himself suddenly face to face with his son.
‘That’s enough. Your plan failed,’ Silver glared. ‘Let them go, or else!’
To Giovanni’s surprise, the Pokemon that Silver released was none other than Ho-Oh.
When did Silver obtain a legendary of his own? Giovanni thought, as Ho-Oh flapped its wings and released a loud cry.
‘...Change of plans,’ Giovanni decided, recalling Mewtwo. ‘We’re leaving.’
His decision confused his underlings, who had been readying themselves for another fight.
‘B-But sir…?’ one hesitantly questioned.
‘The more people you command, the harder it is to control them. I think learning that much is enough for today,’ Giovanni replied. He tilted his head, glancing to the side at Silver. ‘Besides… I’m very pleased by what I’ve seen today.’
Silver pulled a face, and blinked. Was Giovanni complimenting him? For standing up to him? Obtaining Ho-Oh? But once the shock quickly wore off, his expression turned back to angry. He was not going to be taken in, be swayed by Giovanni’s words! This man had no idea who Silver was, if he thought a few pretty words could appease him.
It was probably a lie, anyway.
Silver headed outside the cave again, where the rest of the group - unfortunately, still including Ghetsis - were waiting for him.
‘I think they’ve stopped coming after us now,’ Silver declared, without offering any explanation as to why he had stayed behind. None of them needed to know about him challenging Giovanni. Or what Giovanni had said to him.
‘I see. In that case…’ Alder pointedly looked back at Ghetsis.
‘You want to come after me, now? I can’t allow that to happen,’ he warned. ‘Perhaps we can come to a truce for today. What do you think, N?’
‘...I know that you haven’t changed, at all,’ N said, and Alder was relieved. He had been concerned that siding with Ghetsis to protect him might have caused N to start reconsidering, again. He wanted nothing more than for N to have a father he could be happy with, but as long as his father was Ghetsis, that was just not possible. ‘If you do anything to harm the people or Pokemon here, I will be the first in line to stop you!’
‘I’ll keep that in mind,’ Ghetsis replied, tone thick with sarcasm. Clearly he did not believe N to be a big enough threat to him. ‘Then, farewell.’
‘Wait, Ghetsis!’ Nate then called. Ghetsis paused, not turning back around to face them, but instead peered over his shoulder, to see what Nate wanted. ‘I hate you. I’ll never forget what you did in Unova! But you’re still N’s father! You raised him, and spent all those years together!’
Ghetsis had no idea where Nate was going with his tangent, and neither did N. N’s childhood had been spent cooped up inside one room. A very spacious room, admittedly, but still locked away from the rest of the world, and fed only whatever information Ghetsis deemed worthy of him knowing. As much as N longed for change, he was no longer blind to the horrendous circumstances that stole his childhood.
So why was Nate bringing it up?
‘Are you really going to say you felt nothing when the two of you were fighting side by side?!’ Nate demanded. ‘It’s not too late to change your ways! Please, at least think about it!’
Oh. N braced himself. He was certain that Ghetsis was going to scoff, laugh hysterically at such a ridiculous notion, and he knew it was going to hurt.
‘Nate…’ N began.
‘Ghetsis!’ Nate repeated, when he got no reply. And N’s heart sunk to his stomach, when sure enough, Ghetsis began to chuckle. At last, he turned back properly to face them, and erupted with laughter.
‘You naive fool! Our relationship is nothing more than that between a master and his tools! What happened here changes nothing!’ he barked, before turning his evil scarlet gaze onto N. ‘As long as I can keep using you, I don’t care what you call our relationship! I do whatever I please! I am not your ally, not your friend, and I am certainly not your father!’
In unison, N and Nate both tugged on the brims of their headwear. Nate in embarrassment, and upset for N, and N to try and cover his face. He was attempting to be as expressionless as he could, but the hurt shone in his eyes.
‘How dare you -!’ Silver began, readying to go into a full force rant.
‘Despicable,’ Alder quickly interjected, unwilling to let the youngster draw too much of Ghetsis’ attention. ‘You’re the one without a heart!’
‘If that’s all,’ Ghetsis sneered, their anger and words bouncing off him. With another - but more sardonic - farewell, Ghetsis was whisked away by Kyurem, leaving them free of him at last.
‘I had a bad feeling this might happen,’ Alder sighed. ‘N, my apologies. I think I should have stopped you before you went to help him.’
‘Don’t apologise,’ N said, to Alder and Nate. ‘It was my decision. Please, don’t be sad on my behalf.’
‘...Nate, are you crying again?’ Silver questioned. He looked embarrassed.
‘You truly have a kind heart,’ N gently told Nate, ‘one that resonates with others. You got angry for the people of Unova, you yelled at Ghetsis for me… and now, you’re even crying for me...’
‘I can’t help it! It’s just all so messed up!’ Nate wept. ‘You’re not asking for anything special! You just want a normal relationship with the man you call your father! It’s not asking for much! Why can’t you have that too?!’
‘Nate… It’s okay.’ It was a lie, but a lie told for N’s own sake as well as Nate’s. Right now, he felt like being strong for his friend distracted him from his own pain. ‘I may not have a father, but I have good friends like you.’
‘N…’ Nate sniffled.
‘Yeah, you can survive without a father,’ Silver chimed in, and N nodded in agreement.
I’m blessed to be surrounded by such kind people and Pokemon. That’s enough for me. I suppose… a father figure was just never meant to be.
...But it was nice to hope for it.

Giovanni, did you know Ghetsis was aspiring to puppeteer you?
Tumblr media
‘Not until it actually happened, embarrassingly. I made the mistake of assuming that since he’d already succeeded with Team Plasma, he would be willing to put his charisma skills to use for Rainbow Rocket, instead.’
Tumblr media
‘It’s not a mistake I’ll make again.’

Tiny feet waddle into the room and over to Cyrus. She looks up at him with big sapphire eyes and makes grabby hands towards him. "UP."
Tumblr media
It struck him as odd that a child was allowed to run around freely here...even more odd was how she decided that he was the one to run to and ask for any form of contact. Red eyes narrowed slightly in confusion...he supposed it wouldn’t do him any good should something happen to this child, especially in his area.
So...he’ll indulge the girl this time, bending down to lift the child up, and proceed to carry her back to Giovanni.

She looks around again and shrugs. "My uncle is Giovanni!~" she's a little to proud of this. "He's the best."

“...I see. I have not seen Giovanni recently...perhaps he’s gone to speak to one of the other leaders he brought here?”

do you know what’s fun about potentially making crossover verses for leon ???? there’s so little work actually needed because:
1. other dimensions exist in pokemon canon already (e.g. the worlds all of rainbow rocket was gathered from) so like the explanation for why a pokemon character is someone unrelated to pokemon can be as simple is “yeah well there was an inter-dimensional portal and he walked through it” and it’s still canon-aligned
2. this is a man who rarely knows where he is or where he’s going. do u really think he’d notice if he ended up somewhere not in the pokemon universe ???? he’d probably just think he was in the backstreets of wyndon or something

"and the risen moon is the blue-white afterburn of a rocket’s initial sunburst launch" i just.... like, how? who are u?? what life experiences do u have 2 have 2 come up with this? & like they're *all* *this good* lmfaoo it's mindboggling. it's like that lebron james commercial where he just keeps hitting full court shots. my god where is ur ted talk on metaphors, your Masterclass, pls print a zine on similes. make some washable tattoos of your metaphors. i will buy them by the box
SKJGHKSH OKAY LISTEN, i know I’m ridiculously late answering this but I think about this message all the time, so first off thank you. It’s really great to know anything I wrote struck a chord with you like this!
So, I wouldn’t say it’s “life experience” that helps me to write weird visual metaphors, in the sense that I haven’t actually seen a rocket taking off in real life but I also don’t want to simplify it to just “imagination” either. I think very visually, not just when I’m writing. I understand visual language much more than the intricacies of like, literary devices, purely because I’ve spent much more time watching movies and playing videogames and looking at/drawing art than I have reading and analysing writing. Which isn’t the BEST, I do need to read more, but it is what it is.
Anyway. Point is that I come up with images like the one you quoted just by drawing on the visuals I enjoy in other art! I close my eyes and try to imagine what it would look like as a movie, and that’s what I write. I talked about it a bit in this post too.
For instance, the Georgia chapter of that fic where you quoted from feels very dark blue/indigo in my head, but also sort of shiny and glittering. It’s not a fully conscious choice WHILE writing, but I know I would have had images like these floating around in my head while trying to get the atmosphere right:

Those are from Avatar (2009), Final Fantasy X, Assassin’s Creed: Origins, and the Waitomo Glowworm Caves in New Zealand. Waitomo is the only thing I guess I can claim as an influence from actual life experience because I’ve visited them twice now!!
I also thought about the language used to describe Lancelot in The Lady of Shalott by Tennyson, (“The gemmy bridle glitter'd free/Like to some branch of stars we see/Hung in the golden Galaxy.” “As often thro' the purple night/Below the starry clusters bright/Some bearded meteor, trailing light) or the prettier verses of Cargoes by John Masefield, (“Stately Spanish galleon coming from the Isthmus/Dipping through the Tropics by the palm-green shores/With a cargo of diamonds/Emeralds, amethysts/Topazes, and cinnamon, and gold moidores.”)
even song lyrics help!! I’m very into the kinda.. fantastical drama in metal/prog rock lyrics, as well as stuff like Glass by Bat for Lashes, (“And with two suns spinning/At two different speeds/Was born a hot, white diamond/Burning through the rainbow/Flames fell into orbit”) you see how all of this is very bright and celestial?? That’s where the rockets and sunbursts come from. I’m basically doing this for every metaphor or simile, it’s just coming from different influences.
Another big visual inspiration are landscape paintings by artists like Thomas Cole or Frederic Edwin Church, I love that kinda heightened, fantasy interpretation of real life. But I only found their art by being on tumblr and following art blogs.
Like, to show how much I’m just pulling from images that resonate with me, the lines from that very same paragraph with the afterburn metaphor, “They look out into the dark. The terrace floats like a shining island in ink. They could be in Antarctica at night, or on the moon, icy white marble and blackness beyond them, alone and infinite.” are 100% just me trying to evoke an illustration from a story called Cuddly Dudley that I probably read more than 20 years ago, it’s just that the image never left me.
Tumblr media
Antarctica at night!!! lmao
So yeah, it’s nothing about life experience, it’s not that I’ve done anything particularly exciting that others may not (except maybe the glowworm caves dggjhskdjgh) it’s just... art influencing art. And everybody has their own collection of influences and ideas that strikes their own personal chords, which is why I think everybody can write something unique. You alone can take your memories of some game you played, or maybe a painting you saw in a gallery once and turn it into something no one else could write, because they’re not you and haven’t lived your life.
So i guess that’s my ted talk, my masterclass, my zine! I hope it was helpful, all these months later!!!

For Ghetsis: Would you or have you ever killed? What would drive you to kill? What could make you break your own moral code?
Difficult questions!
Tumblr media
‘No, I haven’t ever killed. Nothing would drive me to it, and I am strong in my morals. Nothing will break me.’
(OOC/real answers under the cut since no shit this prick is lying through his teeth -)
Would you or have you ever killed?
This is actually verse dependent, surprisingly. In his default verse, unrepentant, Ghetsis killed his wife/N’s mother. Their marriage was an arranged one, and he went along with it because: A) she could do things for him, B) he could ghet get a son out of it. Unsurprisingly, he’s a sexist asshole, so boys are automatically more valuable as offspring than daughters or NB children (little does he know that he actually has an NB child), C) having a wife helps him deny being gay. He was abusive to his wife while they were married, and it escalated to physical abuse, which resulted in her murder. So. Yeah.
In his kind of, sort of, vaguely “redeemed” verse, amazingly no. His wife/N’s mother was somebody different (not my OC, courtesy of @cosmiicmultimuse ), and she was murdered by other people. At this point, he feels like he has N sort of back within his grasp to do what he wants, but somehow has the self awareness to realise he would be very lucky to get away with it. Sure, he could ask the Shadow Triad to help him dispose of any evidence (which is what happened in his other verses), but hiding it from either his care home workers or N would be downright impossible. So, this is the only version of Ghetsis who won’t murder and hasn’t.
...And then there’s the biggest asshole of all the assholes. Rainbow Rocket Ghetsis. So for the most part, his pre-Plasma history is the same as in his default verse. Arranged marriage for the same reasons, and it ended in the same way way. However. After Team Plasma’s success, Ghetsis was able to enjoy it for a bit, but there was one thing that kept niggling him. And it was the fact that N was so much more popular than him. He wasn’t exactly surprised by it, obviously the entire reason he had “recruited” (read: manipulated) N into being Team Plasma’s king was because of how easily he could befriend people. But now that the false pretenses were no longer necessary, he wanted that adoration. And he wasn’t exactly fond of N beyond what N could do for him in the first place. So the fact that his scapegoat was so much more beloved than he was drove him insane with rage. Ghetsis killed him. Made it look like N was terminally ill. It was a tragedy. Ghetsis milked the sympathy that came from having his first born “tragically” die like that. He played the part of a grieving, devastated father well, but he was ecstatic. Rainbow Rocket Ghetsis is The Worst Ghetsis.
What would drive you to kill?
If it’s a planned murder, it’d depend on how he could do it and how he could get away with it. Ghetsis isn’t above dismembering bodies and hiding the pieces if that’s what it takes, paying people off, threatening them, whatever.
If it’s not a planned murder, than being in a rage. His temper is atrocious and he’ll hold it back around some people, but others he doesn’t give a fuck if they see him at his worst. Like for RR/unrepentant Ghetsis, his wife. If someone were to find out and confront him about it, he would write it off as “a loss of control”. Ya know, no biggie, only accidentally killed someone!
What could make you break your own moral code?
lol
Okay, I suppose I should write a bit more than that. But. Uh. Ghetsis’ moral code is basically “I deserve to get whatever I want and anything I do to pursue my wants are justified”
so. I guess. In that respect. He hasn’t broken it?

Comfort ShinsoxFemReader
A/N: I have no real explanation for this other than I’m really just indulge writing for myself hah. And I feel like he’d do this. Or I’d like for him to do this tbh. I can imagine it would help me sleep.
Pairing: Shinsou x FemReader
Warnings: swearing but the should be it. Quirk usage but its not even a long fic. Its straight up angst fluff comfort
Masterlist
~~
The memories are the worst part. They never fully leave your brain no matter how long you’ve been free. They creep underneath simple things, hiding until you least expect them to strike. And when they do the wounds reopen and you’re stuck in the same moment again.
How many times have you listened to the voices in your head instead of your own? How many problems have consumed you until you’re drowning in nothing but worries and self hatred?
It’s the warm arms that wrap around your shoulders that pull you from your thoughts. Tufts of soft lavender hair tickle your cheek as Shinso rests his chin on your shoulder. His lips find purchase against your neck briefly, a tired but chaste kiss pressed into your throat. His stubble scratches through your shirt, the feeling familiar. He loves to press his face into the crook of your neck, his deep voice rumbling into your ear quietly.
You’re sitting in your desk chair, staring blankly at the page empty of words before you. You should be writing. You should have the same energy and spark that you used to- back when you hadn’t changed medications.
Depression is a bitch. Profanity aside, the struggle in trying to find the energy to even keep awake is exhausting. You’ve been battling the difficulties of it for years now- but with the recent changes the previous medication wasn’t working anymore. Your anxiety still soars, your depression creeping into every facet of your life to keep dragging you down. Slowly and carefully like the tug of the moon to the tides. It builds with time.
But Shinso’s made sure every step of the way you’re not alone. He’s always there when it gets bad and even when you’re doing fine. He makes sure you stay on track, keeps note of your changes without being asked. He cares for you in the silent way he does most things- cautiously observing without you knowing.
He knows you’re not well versed in taking care of yourself. He’s been with you long enough to understand that you get too absorbed in the things you set your mind to. Always focused on everything else but yourself.
“Give it a rest.” Shinso sighs groggily, his lips ghosting against your skin. You shiver in response, leaning into the warmth of his arms. He must have gotten up from bed.
“You know I can’t do that.” you frown, running your fingers up and down his forearm affectionately.
“You can. You need sleep. Trying to force yourself to do this isn’t going to do you any good.” he mumbles back. “Won’t you come to bed, cuddlebug?”
How long had you been telling him you would? How long had you been sitting here, staring at the screen?
“I can’t, Shinso-“ you try but the click of his quirk settles into place and you inwardly curse. Of course he would do this.
“You gave me permission to use it on you anytime you resisted.” he murmurs.
You recall the exact moment you told him he could. It was the last time you had been feeling out of sorts and trying to force yourself into the work. Being a novelist wasn’t rocket science, sure, but that didn’t mean it was all sunshine and rainbows. You need to write a sequel. Your fans and editor had been raving about the continuation of the series.
Except you never expected there to be a demand for one. It had been a one off.
And the last time you buried yourself in work and Shinso pulled you away you told him to use his quirk. You remember how awful the recoil was before. To repair what you destroyed in the pursuit of trying to be where you felt you should be.
You know asking him to use his quirk was a risk. Allowing him to use it could open up doors you weren’t sure you were ready for. But what was a relationship without trust? And you trust Shinsou- more than anyone else in the world.
“Save your work and come to bed.” he purrs and your body listens without hesitation. You stand from the chair, his arms loosely releasing you as you walk toward your shared room.
It’s beautiful. The fact he cares about you this much. You wish you could tell him how much you love him. But his quirk didn’t tell you to speak. It only told you to go to bed.
“Lay down.” he orders and your body crawls onto the bed.
He climbs in beside you, arms pulling you into his chest.
“Now,” he breathes softly, stifling a yawn. “go to sleep, love bug.”
And you do.

Pokemon Verse for Inwoo!
35 years ago a boy was born in the comfort of Celadon City, Kanto. The oldest of three, his father was a high ranking executive in Silph Co., and when his mother (who’d migrated to Alola to be with him) died due to an incident with a wild group of Shinx on Route 16, his father finally revealed his abusive nature by remarrying immediately and physically abusing the boy constantly as he grew up to groom his incompetent younger brother to take his place.
After being assigned his first Pokémon, a Clefairy from the Celadon Game Corner that was barely worth the time or Coins put into it, Inwoo was pushed outside to start his own journey with nary a goodbye the moment he showed little interest in taking over his father’s business. In truth, Inwoo had been working subtly against him, even leaking information to Team Rocket in an attempt to curry favor with them and eventually was dispatched by them towards Ula’Ula Island of Alola in order to obtain relevant information and steal even more Pokémon.
He’d settled down on the guise of being a tourist, and the kind Alolan folk barely bat an eyelid at him: but he started being plagued by strange dreams as a result, of a red bull-like beast who taunted him for how far he’d fallen and how they hadn’t expected the one they’d left a mark on to be as craven as he’d been. This drove Inwoo up the wall when nothing he researched told him anything of value, and armed with only his Clefairy (the only Pokémon who put up with his shifting, erratic temperament as his sanity dwindled over the years), dove into the mazelike desert of the Haina Ruins in a final bid to find out what exactly was tormenting him in this way--
Only to see the land spirit Tapu Bulu emerge from their hiding place and manifest themselves to condemn Inwoo for working against humanity, aiding in the destruction of those who’d worked hard to keep his world the way it’d been, and most of all, failing his mother’s legacy when he’d chosen to turn his back against the city and funnel information to those who would ruin her adopted city as well as the one she originated from with whatever he’d willingly given up to them. He was branded with the marks of the Pokemon on his shoulder blades with a Nature’s Madness, gaining insight but splintering his sanity even further from the chaotic experience.
Inwoo now travels relentlessly through Alola and its surrounding regions, trying to undo every mistake he’d made thus far by sabotaging Team Rainbow Rocket’s takeover through faulty information and an uprising of the common folk with his companions: a peppy, Johtoian breeder named Dongshik and a stern Kantonian cop named Bokyung who’d tracked his misdeeds to Alola.
His goal, eventually, is to prove that he is worthy of Tapu Bulu: if they’d known who his mother was, they’d have to recognise him eventually too.
Inwoo’s Pokémon are as below-
Tumblr media
Clefairy the Clefairy:
Moonblast | Minimize | Meteor Mash | Calm Mind
Inwoo’s first Pokémon, who stuck through thick and thin with him. Purchased from the Celadon Game Corner illegitimately, her morals are about as murky as the master she recognises, and is even then a force to be reckoned with having followed her chaotic trainer for the longest time.
Despite how rare Clefairies often are, people have returned Clefairy to Inwoo after realising how utterly unmanageable this particular one actually is.
Tumblr media
Krookodile the Krookodile:
Swagger | Throat Chop | Earthquake | Iron Tail
The first thing Inwoo caught by himself after overcoming his incessant and aggressive need to be sufficient on only Clefairy, Krookodile was taken in as a Sandile and put through a strict training regime. Despite being taller than Clefairy, he sure as hell takes orders from the tiny Clefairy.
Tumblr media
Ampharos the Ampharos:
Thunderbolt | Dragon Pulse | Signal Beam | Cotton Spore
A gift from his boyfriend Dongshik as a Mareep, which Inwoo was too annoyed to turn down. Absolutely baby and has no idea who the monster she’s actually serving is.
Tumblr media
Cheonche the Oddish:
Strength Sap | Giga Drain | Sludge Bomb | Tickle
A service Pokemon Inwoo carries in his arms at all times- rumored to be the last thing his mother left him, and his actual first Pokemon. It’s happy to see you, and everyone else really. The most well-adjusted Pokemon in his little army, and nobody has ever seen it fight. He spends an obsessive amount of time pruning its leaves and talking to it like it’ll answer him. Most of the time it just says “Oddish” and snuggles up to him.

It's okay, sometimes your Pokémon nerd has to come out. And yesss! Oh that one, I have heard it before! It's so pretty and almost sad. Credits huh, guess it was created to fit the vibes of a journey coming to an end and returning home after the rain :( its a long trek back. And who could blame us, Pokémon is addicting. Ahh another fun thing, running around in Lumiose City and the Looker missions. Pokelore and solving mysteries~ and little hidden parts of the game. - arcanon
I remember when the Delta Epiosde proved the multi-verse theory 👀 ah Team Rainbow Rocket, wild ey? Who knows where Giovanni left too. I wish the anime was darker, so much potential in putting in the Rocket Executives. And Silver! I'll consume fanfics instead then where there's real danger and realism. Pokémon Generations was good yeah? All these years and we finally got to hear Silver's voice. And Red too! In Masters! - arcanon
Oh no! Emotion plays during a scene with Bianca and her father when he father interrupts her to come home! The credits for B/W are really fast paced and action like, almost as if the adventure isn’t over (which is wasn’t considering B/W 2).
It’s shame they marketed it more towards young kids so some of the more dark aspects get missed out on. Like poor cubone. Also, I love exploring Silver’s past, I know the pokemon adventure manga does but I’m not the biggest fan of it. And I haven’t actually gotten around to watching Pokemon Generations yet T-T I keep getting distracted!

That Time When Jimi Hendrix's New Album Was a Soundtrack and an Epitaph
That Time When Hendrix’s New Album was a Soundtrack and an Epitaph
Jimi Hendrix – “Rainbow Bridge” soundtrack (Reprise – 1971)
by A. Scott Galloway (Special to Radio Facts )When Blues Rock guitar master Jimi Hendrix perished in Kensington, London on September 18, 1970 – at a mere 27 years of age – he had been chiseling away on a double album to be titled First Rays of the New Rising Sun…a double album to follow the double album Electric Ladyland he had released in October 1969. The difference was that Electric Ladyland marked the end of the group via which he slingshot into rock consciousness, The Jimi Hendrix Experience. That band was revolutionary as an interracial power trio featuring two White Englishmen – Noel Redding on electric bass and Mitch Mitchell on drums – being led by Black American wunderkind Jimi Hendrix from Seattle who was rewriting the vocabulary of what could be done and said on an electric guitar. Visually and sonically, the trio comprised a combination that thrilled and titillated the music world as much as it upset it and threw it off its intended axis of White supremacy.Buy Rainbow Bridge (Original Motion Picture Sound Track) – Jimi HendrixJimi Hendrix was a boundlessly curious soul, ever-evolving and constantly creating. His meteoric rise to international superstardom was first and foremost due to his astounding mastery of the guitar – years spent with one in his hands – played upside down/left-handed – as he not only learned to play it but play it with flash, showmanship and sex appeal. A lot of musicians and music lovers came out to get their minds blown by his electrifying manner of covering the songs of others as well as his own trippy compositions. But there were also a lot of audiences coming just to trip off the psychedelia of his sound, big hit records like “Purple Haze” and “Foxy Lady,” and sideshow tricks such as playing with his teeth, behind his back and lighting his ax on fire in a voodoo like ceremony of sacrifice. Hendrix had come up on the chitlin circuit playing with R&B bands and crossing paths with everyone from Wilson Pickett to The Isley Brothers who he played with off and on. He understood the value of a good show. But he was tired of feeling like a sideshow himself. He had serious new music and messages on his mind to share, and it was pouring out of him at an astounding rate in between the hot girlfriends, the partying and the incessant touring. Jimi also had many of the world’s finest musicians lining up for opportunities to jam, record and/or create with him including drummer extraordinaire Tony Williams and jazz legend Miles Davis. Before Jimi died, he was not only writing and demoing songs, he was doing them in a studio of his own design and investment to be called Electric Lady – a sexy space for music creatives looking to make their records in a sacred hip space that was also state of the art and that catered to the needs and lifestyles of rock royalty. Toward the end as the studio was nearing completion, it was truly the only place Jimi really wanted to be…but obligations awaited in the form of concert engagements, contracts and lawsuits…this at a time when anything Jimi so much as plugged in on was finding its way into the just burgeoning market of bootleg vinyl and cassettes.Buy Rainbow Bridge (Original Motion Picture Sound Track) – Jimi HendrixIn the haze of his final days, Jimi Hendrix was trying desperately to complete some music to the satisfaction of how he heard it in his head. Sadly, when he died, much of it was not in completed form. To Jimi’s rescue came his engineer of choice, Eddie Kramer, and some of the last musicians he recorded and jammed with in attempts to see his visions through. The first rush-released posthumous LP of Jimi Hendrix arrived in 1971 titled The Cry of Love, released by his American company Reprise Records (a division of Warner Bros.) and featuring 10 studio recordings, all of which had been intended by Jimi for his proposed First Rays of the New Rising Sun double LP. Many of these songs went on to become Hendrix classics: “Freedom,” “Ezy Rider,” “In From The Storm” and “Angel,” plus the serene “Drifting” and the novel “Belly Button Window” (about a baby questioning whether he actually wants to come out of his mother’s womb into the world he’s spying from inside her belly).Kramer and company did the best they could under the circumstances back then manipulating raw analog tape in the finest studio environment they could muster. This was decades before endless multi-tracks, digital manipulation and any number of other studio manipulators had been created which make that work much faster and easier. In the end, though the album was gobbled up by a sad and starving fan base clamoring for anything by Jimi that the industry had to offer, The Cry of Love was still, at best, a mixed bag. They would get the recipe a lot more right for the second official posthumous Hendrix album…if only the way it was marketed had been different. That album became known as Rainbow Bridge, brought to market as the “soundtrack” for a strange documentary about a convergence of counterculture figureheads meeting on the Hawaiian island of Maui to put their heads together about how best to help people get their heads together. Overlong and often preposterous, the documentary was supposed to be saved by the inclusion of on location Jimi Hendrix concert footage with hopes of recapturing the massive audience that thrilled to his history-making performance in the concert documentary “Woodstock.” Unfortunately, the concert Jimi did on the island was to a paltry number of people and did not inspire one of his finer shows. Still, because Hendrix’s manager Michael Jefferey had cut a deal to prominently feature his client and his music as part of this celluloid disaster, Jimi Hendrix music had been dubiously promised to the production. After Jimi’s death, that meant some previously unreleased masters from the vault had to be coughed up.Buy Rainbow Bridge (Original Motion Picture Sound Track) – Jimi HendrixThough this was a horrific scenario in which to be compiling an album of precious Jimi Hendrix music, it set the stage for Kramer and company to piece together what was ultimately a highly cohesive and variety-filled affair – eight songs with not one ounce of filler including one live recording (NOT from Hawaii) for the ages. Best of all, it was a highly soulful collection that showcased just how strongly Jimi had been determined to reconnect with his R&B roots with the dissolving of The Jimi Hendrix Experience and his more recent experiments with the all-black power trio Band of Gypsys and more expanded studio assemblages. That is evidenced off the bat with the opening number “Dolly Dagger,” a sexy and phantasmagorical homage to Jimi’s Black girlfriend Devon Wilson, a foxy woman Jimi depicted as a good-good witch with hypersexual and dominatrix tendencies. She’s directly name-checked near song’s end! The power trio formatted electric blues-rock is augmented by the congas and percussion of Juma Sultan and male background vocals by brothers Arthur & Albert Allen, a.k.a. The Ghetto Fighters, singing on the outro vamp, “Dolly / Heavy Mama / Get it on, Get it on, Get it on!”Along the same lines groove wise is the equally soulful “Earth Blues” featuring backing vocals by none other than The Ronettes and Buddy Miles. The next track, “Pali Gap,” is a laidback exotic blues instrumental inspired by a mythical place Jimi retreated to in his mind based on a coastal cavern…further reflecting his desire to just be in natural spaces that inspired his creative muses. The track features multiple overdubbed guitar parts, all played by Hendrix, lending the piece an otherworldly vibe.“Roomful of Mirrors” is arguably one of the greatest songs Jimi Hendrix ever wrote, if certainly the most optimistic and liberating. The lyrics speak of him wrestling with demons and a nagging narcissism that he ultimately overcomes in a blast of righteous fury. The opening verse reads, “I used to live in a room full of mirrors / Where all I could see was me / Well I took my spirit and I crashed my mirrors / Now the whole world is there for me to see.”That declaration of independence – following a “slight return” of Buddy Miles’ pounding drums played backwards under celestial guitar sounds that is out of this world – leads symbolically into a studio tour de force of “The Star-Spangled Banner,” the anthem he had already turned completely upside down in his now legendary set at the Woodstock Music and Arts Festival in Upstate New York (gloriously documented for the “Woodstock” film that bottled it for the world to witness again and again. Where the live version was brilliant as Jimi played the song utilizing feedback and distortion to simulate the rockets’ red glare and bombs bursting in air, this studio take is a mini-symphony of overdubbed guitars. Some critics dismissed it as overboiled, preferring the spontaneously combusted concert version, but it reveals the lengths to which Hendrix and Kramer were utilizing the mixing board as an instrument unto itself.Side 2 of Rainbow Bridge kicks off with “Look Over Yonder,” the one song that is a left over from the Jimi Hendrix Experience (Jimi, Noel and Mitch). This writer currently reflects upon this chugging rocker as what Jimi, if he was still here, might pull out of his sack to hurl at America’s sitting president.Lord knows we don’t need a devil like him beating us aroundWell, he’s knocking on my doorHow my house is tumbling downNow don’t you come no closerThe path is keeping me bolderWait by my doorUnless you want to start another warThe piece de resistance of Rainbow Bridge is an 11-minute live version of the darkly prophetic masterpiece “Hear My Train a Comin’,” taken from a May 1970 concert at the Berkeley Community Theater, NOT the Rainbow Bridge concert. A 5-star rendering through and through, Jimi lights into this blues with an all-knowing spirit and an all-seeing third eye over Mitch Mitchells rolling drums and Billy Cox’s firmly planted bass that places it squarely in the Top 5 must hear Hendrix performances of all time.Rainbow Bridge closes with “Hey Baby (New Rising Sun),” visions of a Utopian future in a blissful place with an exquisite soulmate. Perhaps Jimi found his Pali Gap on the other side…Jimi Hendrix created and achieved unprecedented amounts and levels of lasting music and art in his all too brief lifetime. Though compiled under compromising circumstances, the too-often overlooked Rainbow Bridge nevertheless stands triumphant as the soul album that sets his spirit free.SEE MORE OF A. Never played S/M/US/UM but guzma seems like such good boyfriend material. Is he considered part of rainbow rocket? Seems like 99% of lore was dropped in the one gen i havent played
Guzma's the one who needs lots of love, he's got some... interesting past I'll say that. But as far as being TRR affiliated, that's a negative, ghastly-rider. Since him and Piers are both in the same situation of 'This team made by me is generally seen as a nuisance and not as a real threat' he, just like Piers, as far as game villains go, aren't apart of Rainbow Rocket in any canon-verse (Because TRR was a what-if scenario introduced in USUM alone via Alternate Universe)
Even if TRR was a canon gameverse thing (most likely not because a lot of the TRR members are rendered as dead/ in jail after their games end) I don't think Guzma would be let in because he's just a little punk boy with a chest full of Bugnium-Z and a fear of golf clubs :/
