Tadashi doesn’t think himself particularly observant; surely, if he can notice the peculiar glint in Yachi’s warm brown eyes, anybody can; which then begs the question, how long has she been in there without anyone noticing? “Did I need - oh, no, I was just coming back for my jacket, I left it behind…” Words hurry needlessly in his mouth, start their usual stumble; he cuts them short in his throat before he can make an embarrassment of himself. For a moment, Tadashi hesitates - other people’s distress is always so much more overwhelming than his own.

Finally he shakes himself out of his frozen stupor, hastily opens his backpack and pulls a small pack of tissues, before he hands it to Yachi; concern engraved in the near hazel colour of his eyes. “Are you… are you okay?” He dares ask, worry overriding any concern he might have had f overstepping his boundaries. Yachi-san is as prompt to panicking as she is to optimism, that he knows; something, this feels slightly different. Maybe because it is the first time he sees traces of real tears down her cheeks. “Did something happen, Yachi-san?”

she blows her nose unceremoniously,   giving a soft hiccup into the cotton of her handkerchief.   she’s always been prone to tears,   in the way she is prone to anxiety,   but to be seen crying;   by a member of the team she is supposed to support,   no less  ...  !
