where the moon lay
techno angst :) word count: 908 summary: techno and tommy argued, and now techno is left alone with nothing but tommy's footprints in the ground
- - - - - - - - - -
techno stared at where tommy had once been, footprints were an indication at how long he stood there, the prints nestled firmly into the dirt. a wave of dread flooded over him, spreading like a disease aimed at his heart. cold winds didn’t help his state, sending a shiver down his spine; shoulders stiffening in response.
he could only stare at where the reckless teen had stood, their argument racing through his mind. a buzzing hummed throughout his body, a numbness tingling at his fingertips. the night was silent, and yet it had never seemed louder. echoes of the shouted words rang through his mind and the air, not even the dull sound of the chirping crickets interrupted his own mind. techno was trapped in his own mind, stuck in these thoughts, and the threat of tears burned in his eyes.
there was no way he could cry, he couldn’t, he wasn’t allowed to. he had to be strong, no vulnerability.
no weakness..
a strong pillar that couldn’t weather, couldn’t erode, couldn’t break or crumble.
and yet it had never felt more weak. one tiny, chielsed bit of the pillar holding it up, wobbling, threatening to fall. it reminded him of his youth, spending hours training, perfecting his failures that made him feel so small, that dissuaded him, made him want to give up.
his thoughts were now not the only thing screaming at him. the voices bellowed their anger, thrashing, screeching, shouting, wailing, and it was all bringing him even closer to tipping over the edge.
techno’s hands rose, hands grabbing at his hair while his palms pressed flat against his ears, desperate to silence the noise.
it only seemed to make it worse, the voices' screams bounced off the hollowness of his skull, doubling with their echoes, a chorus. they sounded like an elementary school’s children choir, untuned, scratchy, overwhelming, and loud.
everything hurt, his head pounded with its own special headache, and the tears had never seemed more willing to be a form of release. he dropped his hands, curling one into a fist, nails digging into his palm. techno’s eyes remained on the ground, they had never moved, he wouldn’t dare lest he wanted to forget everything that happened, thats how it felt anyways.
is this how ranboo felt? that if he were to look away from one scene, one moment that had happened before he’d forget it all, never remember a word, an argument, tears, screams, embraces, simply nothing?
he had never related to ranboo more.
and while he always detested tubbo for his relations with government, and ranboo marrying him solely for that reason, he had to acknowledge tubbo made him happy.
and techno didn’t have that.
weak! pitiful! vulnerable! tommy deserved this! he betrayed you! his blood must run.
his heart froze, jumping while his blood ran cold. the voices wanted him to hurt tommy, and they took his reaction to their fight as weakness.
techno’s hands shook as he hesitantly dragged his gaze away from the footprints, looking to the moon. tommy’s footprints faded that way, walking in the direction of the moon. it’s light flooded the area, and techno could even see the light hit his legs.
he closed his eyes, momentarily basking in its glow, allowing himself to forget the argument and the voices, the urge to collapse and sob, wail into the sky for anyone to hear.
because techno had no one to rely on like the others.
he was alone.
and the only things he could call to, for his cries to be heard, and for his sobs to not be ridiculed was the moon.
the sun blinded him, forced him into a heat he had to endure, and it reminded him too much of home and the warmth of anger.
yet the moon was calming, a cooler, comforting feeling that he basked in, that he could cry to and he knew the moon would listen. it would hear him and comfort him, give him a sense of calm with its chilly envelopment, like an autumn morning, close to winter but not quite there.
and it was nice.
and it was the best he could get.
because techno couldn’t rely on anyone to protect him but himself.
but it was nice to be comforted by the moon, to imagine that he wasn’t alone in moments like these. where the ringing in his ears blocked out the sounds of his near hyperventilation, and distracted him from the cold feeling of his own tears and the warm blood that spilt from his palm, staining his nails.
techno opened his eyes, red like the blood he had shed, narrowed like a caged animal.
and he turned to face where the moon laid, ignoring the cries and laughter of both the voices and the stars.
and techno let the moon’s glow envelop him, in an attempt to feel protected and comforted.
though techno did not see the watchful blue eyes staring at his back, glassy sorrow covering them. and they turned away from where the moon lay, walking towards where the sun would rise, leaving only their footprints and a small, black feather to drift down from the sky, the breeze carrying it past techno.
maybe techno wasn’t as alone as he thought. and maybe it wasn’t only the moon that would protect him and comfort him.
and yet that could only be learned, or be known, in due time.

winter was never kind to us, the only things that seemed to warm us all were the bread and pastries niki made, or the fire we’d have ever night. otherwise, the town was silent, not a peep from anyone simply trying to survive.
we were close, or at least some of us are. every now and then you’d here whispered talking, most now guarded and isolated from the first attack. tubbo and tommy were the two that spoke the most to each other, tommy commonly being seen entering and exiting tubbo’s florist shop, except not always with flowers.
he’d leave with weapons now, newly crafted and made swords or arrows, shields sometimes even. it wasn’t new but it was still shocking that this is what the town had come to. what used to be a lively, social town now filled with the cold, bitterness of a half victory.
wilbur hadn’t been seen for a couple of weeks, the only signs he was still in there were the fact patrols were still being sent out. tommy, techno, and purpled all wandering the island, weapons drawn and looking out for that one boat.
‘masked raiders’ is what they called them, the members rather than the ship. the title was earned when their raid leader had become recognizable for their white eye cover/bandana and mocking smile.
no, the ship itself was called ‘ethereal fury’. led by the infamous captain puffy. legends say it’s hundreds of years old, passed on to their family like an heirloom, yet no one knew who would lead it next.
you stared out over the waters, one leg over the cliff side and the other tucked up, elbow leaning against it and palm in hand. your bow sat beside you, the bundle of arrows scattered around messily. organization was never your strong suit, but aim was. tubbo had crafted you personalized throwing knives, your initials craved into the handle.
your hand clasped around one of the knives, running your thumb delicately over your initials. glancing up at the sky, you took note of the time, pressing a hand against the ground and standing. purpled would be home soon, and you needed to check him over for wounds. he was your brother, as reckless as he was, he never learned to take care of himself.
with a sigh you walked around, picking up the discarded arrows, sliding your bow over your back. the string pressed against your front, though it became an invisible, phantom of a feeling when you turned around, hearing noise from the waters.
around another island in the distance pulled a ship, not too far away from your home island. quickly you pulled a shrinkable scope from your pocket, an intention fundy had given you to test, looking around the boat for a symbol.
and there it was, the ram horns on the front of the ship. quickly a gasp left you, from your post you ran for the watchtower. the cliff was a watchpoint and practice area, one you commonly went to.
you rushed up the mossy watchtower stairs, almost stumbling. finally, you reached the bell, grabbing the string inside and frantically ringing the bell.
it’s noise rung out, hurting your ears, yet you continued to hit it and let the sharp sound fill the island. immediately you heard the upsurge from the side, hearing the draw gate start to close and defense barriers begin to set up. techno and tommy must’ve been closing in when you hit the bell, what ironically and unfortunately perfect timing.
the cold wind stung at your skin and face as you raced back down the stairs and to the cliffside. you kneeled, pulling your bow back out and drawing an arrow from your quill. your sight was aimed down at the ship, keeping a steady aim and stare on the offensive, and enemy raiders.
the ship began to slow, and you could see the cannon windows begin to open. steadying your grip on the arrow you aimed slightly up, breathing in before releasing the arrow, exhaling while you shut.
the arrow zoomed through the air, piercing directly into the opening of the cannon. the window immediately shut on that opening, and you took out another arrow, quickly changing positions to be further in the shrubbery. loading another arrow you aimed at the pirate ship again, watching them begin to dock. the moment you saw a sign of movement you fired the arrow, repeating your breathing process. it hit against the board that let them down, bouncing off and into the waters, though you had been inches away from hitting someone's foot.
you glanced up slightly from where you had been aiming, the white sticking out against the rest of the outfit. pain shot through your lungs at the aggressive and sharp inhale you took. the leader of the masked raider’s was staring directly up at the cliffside, though not at you, but rather at the watchtower.
quickly you rolled into the bushes, back against a tree while peering out at them. you saw two of the raiders jump out, one throwing a fireball at the wooden defenses and the other throwing two potions down. their swords gleamed, even from how far back you were. suddenly, you heard a familiar warping sound.
drawing your attention over, you watched a black and red hooded figure land, glancing over the town. they stood beside the watchtower, only about twenty feet away from you. slowly you leaned a hand down, grabbing a pebble. keeping it held firmly in your hands you reared your hand back, throwing it at the shrubbery on the other side of the watchtower.
that got their attention, and you got a good glimpse of their face. a half demon, black horns prominently protruding from their forehead and white eyes. you bit your tongue to prevent any noise, pulling a throwing knife out of its sheath. it was silent for a moment before the half demon began to walk over to investigate, sword drawn.
you had to block out the noises of the battle below in order to focus, inhaling softly and slowly. tunnel vision took its effect, and everything around you became noiseless, void while you zoned in on this half demon’s back. the knife flew from your hand, embedding yourself into their shoulder.
“agh!” the half demon shouted, flinching forward and dropping their sword before spinning around, growling. clearly they were angry, ripping the throwing knife from their shoulder and looking at it. their blood was white like their eyes, and while they seemed focused on the throwing knife you drew the dagger you had strapped to your thigh.
from where you were you could hear the half demon’s breathing, before their gaze flickered to the shrubbery you were in. your eyes met, and before you realized what you were doing, you had sprung out of the bushes, lunging at the half demon.
their grip on the knife changed, clasping tightly around your throwing knife. while you swung to the side in an attempt to hit them, they swiped at you. the knife clipped your shoulder, but you had managed to slash across their leg.
you rolled away, on your good shoulder, the adrenaline numbing the sting from the wound. the half demon took a step back to look at you, seemingly unfazed from the wound. they slowly took steps towards you, while you stood there, shifting your feet into a fighting stance.
suddenly they rushed at you, stabbing the knife down at you. your knife raised, meeting the knife in the middle. while you both struggled to push the other knife away, you rose a foot, kicking the half demon in the stomach. they flinched, gasping while being kicked back.
your throwing knife dropped, and while you quickly moved, ducking to pick it up, the half demon threw their own knife at you. it landed in your shoulder, which brought a gasp of pain from you.
glancing over, you saw the half demon running at you again, sword drawn, having picked it up when they were kicked away. you stared, rage now burning in your stomach. when they took several swipes at you, you managed to duck or back away from the strikes. when the barrage of hits ended you swung forward, slamming the handle of your knife into their head. the half demon got knocked down, and before they could get back up again, you slammed into their stomach. you hit the handle against their head once, twice, and finally three times before they were down for the count.
standing up you inhaled shakily, reaching a hand up and ripping out the knife. you gasped again, stifling a cry of pain by biting your lip. tears burned in your eyes before you rolled the half demon over, slowly taking all their weapons. you hesitated before grabbing the half demon by the back of the hood, dragging them over to the watchtower. you propped them up against a wall inside, leaving their practically emptied bag there.
new sword in hand, you walked out, the pain slowly returning from your dying adrenaline. returning to the cliffside over town, you stared down at the battle, panting softly. the battle reigned on, techno fighting the masked raider’s leader, tommy fighting the one that started the fire, and purpled fighting the one that splashed potions. from what you could see the battle was in the town’s favor, philza even shooting arrows down from above the town’s biggest building, the townhouse, where wilbur, fundy, and philza all lived.
with a sigh you readied yourself to go down the cliff, shaking out your arms, not without a spike of pain in your left one. slowly, you used your heels to ground you to the earth, sliding your way down without hurting yourself too badly. scrapes now littered your hands when you hit the ground, quickly running into the town.
the battle was louder now, metal clashing against metal and the sounds of the crackling fire. you ducked beside the bakery, peering inside for niki.
when you looked inside you saw her behind the counter, the traveler jack inside with her. they seemed to be talking, jack gesturing to the battle outside while niki shook her head. she saw you, pausing before waving. jack turned to look at you, scowling, which seemed to be his natural expression. you waved back before looking back at the battle, huffing.
the fire was spreading uncomfortably close to the townhouse, though philza seemed fine from above. it was fundy you were worried about, less than about purpled but still worried. the fox hybrid had been taught to fight, but hadn’t completed his training, and was even a few years older than purpled. he’d been babied for so long by wilbur that he hadn’t gotten the chance to train.
glancing around at the battle, you made sure all of them were distracted before running, sprinting across the open field. the clinking of the swords grew louder as you ran past them. unfortunately, the moment you got close to the townhouse, you heard the loud sound of cannon fire. the noise pierced the air, a ringing noise now sitting in your ears as you watched the cannon ball hit directly into the townhouse.
“no!” you screamed, voice cracking. the impact knocked you off your feet and threw the sword away from you, though you scrambled back up, you were forced to watch the townhouse crumble and fall. philza managed to swoop down with his wings. “phil, fundy’s still in there!” you shouted at the advisor, who paused with wide eyes.
“get him! i need to help techno!” he shouted back before dashing off, not even giving you a chance to rebuke. you exhaled heavily before running into the burning remains of the townhouse, roughly scrambling through while coughing from the smoke.
lifting the broken wood, “fundy! where are you!” you shouted, coughing afterwards. faintly you heard him call back, a weak ‘help!’ from within the rubble.
dashing over, you quickly began to remove the wood, ignoring the sting from the fire. it burnt your skin, licking at it to create new wounds while you simply continued to move. finally you found the fox hybrid, grabbing his hand and pulling him out. his fur was burnt slightly, tips singed. you put a hand on his head, forcing him to duck with you. “c’mon! this place is gonna collapse!” taking hold of his hand you rushed fundy out of the building, with him stumbling behind you.
when you both managed to get out, only a few moments later did the building groan, the rest finally collapsing. your hands shot to your knees, crouching while you coughed aggressively. fundy pat at your back, covering his own cough with an arm. “thank you.” his voice was hoarse, yet almost broken sounding. you glanced up at him, nodding before walking a little bit away. picking up the half demon’s sword, you handed it to fundy. “protect yourself.” even your voice was hoarse, strained from the smoke and coughing.
he nodded at you before both of you turned to the battle still raging on. ringing set in your ears again, the pain coming back like a tsunami. you winced, crying out in pain before collapsing to your knees. burn wounds littered across your hands and upper arm, the stab wound to your shoulder not doing any better from the ash that now rests atop it.
your breathing had become labored, shaky on top of that. fundy rummaged through a he had, taking out a healing potion. he kept a hand on your back, “tilt your head back.” you glanced over at him before doing as told. the fox hybrid pushed the bottle to your mouth, pouring half of it for you to drink. you gulped it down like it was water and you were going through a drought. leaning your head back forward, he drank the rest of the potion. “thank you.” you muttered, able to feel the energy returning to your body, watching the burn scars fade slightly and feel the stab wound stop bleeding and scab over.
he hummed, removing his hand quickly after that while discarding the bottle. “now let’s get back to this battle right?” fundy grinned, one of his fox ear’s flicking. you smiled back up at him, standing up and taking out your dagger. “we got some raiders to beat the shit out of.”
together, you rushed towards the battle, though fundy diverged from you, running to philza. you kept running straight, sprinting to where purpled was fighting, though his opponent’s back was to you.
just as you were above to slash at him you heard the call out, “george! behind you!” it came from the one tommy was fighting.
the one now known as ‘george’, spun around, swinging his sword. you ducked back, sword swiping over your stomach and head. you spun, pressing your hands off the ground and kicking him into the stomach, knocking him back towards purpled. while you landed your brother slashed george in the side, rearing a hand back and punching him square in the face while he was in shock.
his glasses crumbled to the floor, now broken, blood dripping down after it. he gasped, and while you moved around george to purpled’s side you could see why. george’s nose had been broken from purpled’s punch, and your brother still wasn’t letting up. purpled landed another punch into his gut, shoving george back again. the enemy raider let out a small fry of pain before punching back at purpled, hitting him in the shoulder.
it was slow motion when you watched the raider’s leader appear behind george, and as george ducked, the leader’s sword swung towards purpled. you dived forward, knocking purpled out of the way. the sword hit empty air while you stood back up, glaring at the masked raider. their head turned to stare at you before one of their hands rested on george’s shoulder. george glanced at the leader before running off into the battle.
it was slow motion when you watched the raider’s leader appear behind george, and as george ducked, the leader’s sword swung towards purpled. you dived forward, knocking purpled out of the way. the sword hit empty air while you stood back up, glaring at the masked raider. their head turned to stare at you before one of their hands rested on george’s shoulder. george glanced at the leader before running off into the battle.
you stared at the masked one, or the bandana, shifting the grip on your dagger. right now you really wished you hadn’t given fundy that sword. it was silence between you two before he bolted forward, swinging at you. you backed up, ducking and dodging his rapid swinging.
purpled shouted, “catch!” you glanced over only for a second, dropping the dragged and catching the sword, spinning on your foot and clashing your swords together. the clink rang out, the renowned, mocking smile forming on the leader’s expression.
you stared flatly, glaring before smiling. the masked leader paused when you smiled, quickly spinning around and hitting purpled’s dagger away. with his back turned, you slashed down it, cutting through his shirt and drawing blood.
the masked leader paused before aggressively swinging at him, pivoting and slashing the blade at you. you bounced his blade off, taking steps back while he took steps forward, making aggressive slashes at you.
the tip of his sword hit you every once in a while, making shallow cuts first to your arm and then one to your chest. finally something intervened, though it definitely wasn’t what you hoped for.
“stop the fighting or he’s fucking dead!” the fire started called, sword to someone’s neck. you and the masked raider both paused, looking over. fundy was beaten up, bleeding from his lip and nose, slashes made down his arms and a couple on his legs.
you gasped, “fundy-“ your voice started, but before you could move the masked raider’s sword was put in front of you like a wall. slowly you looked over at them, staring with wide eyes. purpled came to your side, weapon discarded and glaring up at the masked raider. “back up.” he commanded, but his demand fell upon deaf ears.
the masked raider continued to stare at you while one of his companions shouted, “drop your weapons and give up! one fucking arrow or knife comes at me and he’s gone!” the sword moved closer to fundy’s neck, who managed to hold his head back slightly, his eyes wide, mouth tightly closed, and arms drawn in.
“let him go-“ your voice was quiet at first, before your fist nestled around the grass below you, though it was practically dead. “let him go!” you shouted, voice breaking halfway through, tears finding their way to your eyes. “he’s just a teenager how the fuck can you do this! you’re threatening to kill us for what? greed! fucking satisfaction you sick fucks!” you continued to scream, even when the masked raider moved his sword closer to your neck.
tears spilled over your eyes, “if you’re gonna do it then fucking do it! but leave him alone! fuck off! we’re a small island! a fucking family that you made distrust each other from the first attack! what’re you gonna do? stab me?” you reached up, grabbing his sword and bringing it to your neck. your grip was tight enough to cut your hand, blood dripping down the blade. “do it then you fucking sick prick.” from behind the bandana you could feel them staring at you, as if actually contemplating it.
their sword dropped as they walked forward, crouching down and grabbing you by the collar of the shirt. they smiled, “drop the fox!” they called, holding an amused tone of voice. “we’re taking this one.” as they spoke they hoisted you up, lifting you slightly off the ground. you squirmed, and as much as you hated it you had to accept they were stronger than you.
“no you aren’t!” purpled shouted, swinging the sword you had discarded towards their arm. another sword intervened, but not by who either of you expected.
wilbur scowled at purpled, pushing your brother away. “stand down purpled.” he ordered. purpled opened his mouth to speak, but wilbur didn’t give him the chance. “you heard me.” he glared before looking over at the masked raider.
“leave.” was all he said, turning his back on the masked raider, walking across the burnt town-square and over to where fundy had been dropped.
the masked raider tossed you over his shoulder, where you wiggled, hitting at their back while cussing bitterly. the raider who had started the fire was handed a pouch of gold while wilbur took fundy, leading the fox hybrid away from the raider.
the raider whistled, “and thank you-“ the masked raider shouted after a moment, “sapnap! c’mon we don’t have time for this!” they called. ‘sapnap’ groaned, rolling his eyes before going along. “and see you all another time!” he mock bowed while the masked raider walked up the board.
you hit at their back with closed fists, wiggling. “let me go!” your voice echoed, screaming, though no one listened. no one in the town could look at you, the only ones who did make eye contact were purpled and techno, one who looked regretful and the other looked guilty. both were wounded, techno more so than purpled, before they were gone from your sight.
the board was hauled onto the ship when sapnap got back on, george and the half-demon getting their wounds tended to as you were set down. the masked raider set you down against a pole while the boat got moving. feeling the boat lurch forward, you moved with it, wincing when your head hit the back of the pole.
your eyes closed, biting your tongue before opening your eyes. when you opened them you saw the captain staring at you, ram horns decorated with gold jewelry. you yelped, trying to flinch back even further from the captain.
alas, that did nothing as she only grew closer. you shut your eyes tight, tucking your chin and grabbing onto your own wrist tightly. the feeling of a hand on your chin brought back all your fear, and it only worsened when you were forced to look up, opening your eyes out of shock. she stared down at you, studying your expression and how you reacted. you were forced to stare back, and your fear mixed with anger burned into your eyes and stomach, boiling like a geyser.
“good job dream, now we have leverage.” she hummed, smiling. “welcome to ethereal fury.” captain puffy stared down at you before letting go, simply taking a few steps back. her sword shifted as she moved, and with a snap of her fingers you were being picked up again, this time by strangers. ‘dream’ seemed to be the masked raider, who stood beside the captain.
the new people holding you were up some not out on the battlefield, you assumed they were behind the canons or simple helpers. one was a half endermen and the other looked more dead inside, and bored, than sapnap did behind dream.
“now i find it awfully impressive you managed to take down bad,” that sentence got the half endermen to tighten their grip on you, “but i’m not all that happy you did it to begin with.” puffy turned to look at you, unsheathing one of her daggers. “now you can either tell us everything about yourself and the island,” the tip of the dagger pressed against your lips, applying pressure on your lower one, “or you can decide to not speak at all.”
your jaw fell loose, and the light pressure applied to your mouth made it fall open slightly. the cold of the blade shot through your head, the metallic taste was a bitter reminder of what was happening. she removed the knife after a moment, to give you the opportunity to speak.
you looked up at her slowly, glaring. “your men tried to kill one of my friends,” your voice was low, words slow, “so frankly, you can suck my fucking dick.” a smile drew onto your face, “because at least mine is bigger than half your men’s.”
puffy stared back at you, and while the fear and loss of confidence dwelled in your stomach, you were determined to keep staring back.
finally, she laughed loudly as well. your expression and body slacked at the noise, eyes widening. “that’s a good one kid, a good one.” puffy leaned slightly down to look at you, smiling. “you’re amusing, so full of spite it seems.” she stood back up, sheathing the knife. “i like this one.”
dream rose a brow before scoffing, him and sapnap walking over to george and ‘bad’. “release them.” puffy ordered, which got everyone’s attention.
slowly you were let go, you stretching by rolling your arms, though you winced right after. your arm was still sore from where bad had stabbed you. hesitantly you glanced around, unsure of what to do now that you were let go, though puffy brought your attention back to her. “alright kid, now you’re not one of us so don’t get the wrong idea, but you’ll definitely have to stay in the cell for a couple of days.” those words brought your scowl back.
“well if your so-called dream hadn’t insisted on taking me you wouldn’t have to worry about me.” you grumbled. puffy laughed again, though it sounded more mocking this time.
puffy grabbed you by the wounded shoulder, tugging you over. her nails dug into your wound, which made you wince out of pain, biting your lip and whimpering slightly. she let up on her grip, though she still dragged you down into the bottom of the boat, through a staircase. down there was one guy cracking jokes and the other laughing. the one making jokes was in blue, a scar down one of his eyes, and the other was in a colorful outfit, goggles on top of his head and a book in hand.
you stared at them for a moment, and eventually they both looked over at you, pausing in their conversation. puffy continued to tug you forward, and as you passed them they both returned to conversation, though more hushed this time.
when you looked forward again you saw puffy pulling you towards a cell, which was quickly opened with one of her keys. you inhaled sharply when she pushed you inside, landing on your side.
you sat up as puffy spoke, “now if you behave for a little we might consider letting you join, or return to your companions.” she locked the door again, spinning the key. quickly you went to the bars, shaking them a couple of times. you knew it was futile, only the width of your arm could fit between those bars.
moving back in the cell you sat against the wall, sighing while tilting your head back. this was gonna be a long few days wasn’t it.
- - - - - - - - - -
you woke up to the sound of the cell door opening, jolting up. pain shot through your shoulder when you sat up, staring with wide eyes at the door. dream stood there, bandages and gauze in his hands. he stared at you before clearing his throat, “puffy sent me to clean your wounds.” the raider muttered, walking towards you.
before he could reach you your back had hit the wall, distrust dwelling in your stomach. dream’s posture was slack, relaxed and unafraid, clearly he didn’t take you as a threat for now. no words were spoken as you slowly turned, huffing while showing him your back first.
the sound of him sitting down was the only noise in the cell, besides hearing your own breathing. when he stopped moving the noise of his breathing became clear as well, and oddly your breaths had been in sync. you flinched when a rag touched your shoulder wound, clearly he had doused it in gauze to clean and disinfect it. he stopped moving for a moment, waiting before slowly wiping the rag down the cut. it wasn’t necessarily long, just a deep stab in your shoulder, which hurt like all hell.
after a moment of repetitive wipes to the wound, he removed the rag, using his other hand and tugging your sleeve down. you bit your lip to distract yourself, fidgeting with your hands. “lift your arm.” his voice was surprisingly soft, calm to an extent. you did as instructed, wincing, though all he did was begin to wrap the bandage around your shoulder. he lifted a hand, gently pulling your arm down after he’d looped the bandage around the front, pulling the rest down onto the flat of your wound.
he cut the bandage off, though his other hand stayed on your arm for a moment longer before he removed it. you shifted, turning around and holding your arms out. the gauze rag he had used was tainted with a light red, though he still used it to clean the shallow cuts to your arms. his hands moved slowly, and you watched him work, closely studying his expression, or lack thereof, and his hands.
when he finished bandaging your arms his head tilted to look you in the face. silence settled between you two, only the sound of your breathing filled the room.
“why’re you listening to puffy and helping me?” your voice came as a surprise to even yourself, having blurted out the words.
dream only stared back before a smile formed on his expression. “puffy was right. you are amusing.” his tongue clicked, raising a hand and pulling his bandana back. piercing, green eyes stared at you, bright somehow even in the darkness of the cell, a taunting, yet charming smile painting his face. “i’m glad i chose you over the fox.” dream’s words were practically purred out, voice filled with amusement. you couldn’t help the small blush that spread to your face, both from his eyes and sudden change in voice. “try and get some more sleep doll, we have a long couple of days to go.” he leaned towards you, grinning before patting the top of your head.
the bandana returned to cover his eyes after he gathered the gauze rag and bandages, walking out of the cell and locking it. you stared wide-eyed at the spot he once sat at and the cell door. a sharp breath left you, one you didn’t realize you were even holding. who the fuck was this raider? and who did dream think he was to do that to you? but most importantly, what did he mean?
- - - - - - - - - -
dream had visited you a couple more times over however long it had been. mainly he had been bringing you food and water, his excuse was always, ‘puffy sent me down to do this’. the more he used it the less you cared, you were tired of that excuse, you just wanted to know what he saw in you that had him coming back.
on the brighter side, you had met a few of the other crewmates. quackity and karl were the two you had passed before below deck, they seemed fun and even cracked jokes with you despite you being in a cell. they had made you laugh for the first time since you got here, it was refreshing too. you had also met ranboo, the half endermen, and punz, the one who had looked dead inside. though it was more you had heard his name was punz, from ranboo who had been coming down to check on some storage.
anytime you tried to ask how long you’d been down here you never got a certain answer, just an ‘uhhh’ and then a shrug, or being flat out ignored. at this rate you were tempted to shimmy out of the bars and see if there was a window you could jump out of. it felt like you could swim to shore with how long you had been cooped up in here.
you heard his footsteps again, he had come by enough for you to recognize them. turning, you looked at the cell door, focusing back in, seeing dream walking. something hopped in your stomach, seeing him carry a tray of food and a glass of water.
he opened the cell door again, “puffy had me-“ you interrupted him, “oh quit the fucking excuse, if you’re gonna bring me something at least tell me why you’re coming.” dream looked mildly shocked you had snapped at him, shoulders stiffening.
his jaw clenched while he set the food down, water beside it. you grabbed the food, picking up the bread and biting into it. cold as always, “well? you gonna talk or you gonna keep shoving your head into your ass?” you swoop your hand in a vague ‘get it going’ gesture.
dream paused again before laughing, sitting down. “i’ve always been interested in you. since that first raid we pulled on your island,” he started, while you slowly continued to eat, “when we lost and were retreating you didn't shout in victory like the other island protectors did. you turned around and helped the others of your island, checked on them, made sure they were fine, and began to help set up housing for those who had temporarily lost it from our cannonballs.” his words slowed considerably, pausing to breathe.
another smile formed on his expression, though not a mocking one, “something about you drew me in, something i can’t explain.” dream undid his bandana, resting it on one of his crossed legs. he leaned forward and towards you. his eyes scoured your expression, looking for something, which had developed a look of mild shock. you didn’t think he paid that much mind to you before they had taken you.
he leaned back, standing up and tying his bandana back on. dream offered a hand out, “your days in the cell are up.” a grin split across his expression when you took his hand, stumbling after pulling yourself up. “oh doll, you’re gonna love it here.”
dream led you out of the cell, careful to support you to avoid you falling or stumbling, even as you climbed the stairs. the daylight burned you eyes when you saw it again, squinting up at the clouds before glancing around. the crew had all gathered by the stairs, puffy in the front.
you paused to glance at dream, who was still grinning, before looking at puffy. she was smiling, taking strides towards you. the ram hybrid stared down at you for a moment, letting the silence ring out before she spoke.
“we want you to join ethereal fury.” puffy offered, “we all here believe you’d fit right in with us, training as a team, close as a family, and forming a bond with everyone here.” the ram hybrid hummed, finishing her small speech.
silence sat between you two again, the only noise was the waves rocking the boat. dream’s grip on your shoulder tightened slightly, but not as to intimidate you into joining, more of anticipation.
a small smile formed on your face, “sure.” why not try it? you’d probably return home eventually anyways, right? the crew burst out into cheers, karl running at you and pulling you into a hug, “welcome!” he shouted, shaking you slightly.
they were so trusting of you. but why? they’d barely known you, didn’t know if you’d say yes to joining. it made no sense to be this trustworthy.
dream pulled you away from karl, pulling you into a tight hug while quackity shouted something about getting the tequila and rum out. “welcome to the team, glad to have you here.” he shifted back slightly, using a hand to tilt your head up and kissing your forehead, smiling. a blush rapidly spread across your face, eyes widening slightly, and your posture and expression momentarily falling slack.
maybe this was the start of something new, a good new, and frankly? you couldn’t wait to see where it led.

Small idea/request I've had in my head for awhile: c!bbh finding and adopting a baby the same way he did Sapnap and introduce them to the family! I feel like Sapnap would be a better brother than he thinks :]
a cult's sacrifice? not anymore!
request: c!bbh x child!reader genre: fluff(parental and sibling kind y'know?) word count: 968 warnings: child ‘sacrifice’ summary: bbh got a child sacrificed to him from another world so the only reasonable thing to do is to take the child and raise it! right?
- - - - - - - - - -
bad glanced around frantically when he was suddenly warped away, mid-conversation with skeppy. around him was a dimly lit room with a dark tone to it all, below him a circle of red, though with all the wrong symbols they probably intended.
one spoke before him, “oh please great one, take this witch’s baby and rid us of our drought, our children are starving and dying of dehydration.” the demon stared at him before slowly taking the baby while speaking, “well- um, this is highly irresponsible, i’ll just take them- and uh, good luck with your drought!”
and with that he was gone, disappeared with the circle closing in. bad was warped back to his exact location from before, where skeppy spun around to stare at him. “bad! what hap-” skeppy paused before shrieking, “why do you have a fucking baby!” his shouting caused the baby to begin crying.
the demon furrowed his unseeable brows, “language skeppy, and look what you did!” bad gently rocked the child back and forth, cooing softly down at them, all while attempting to soften his expression to appear unintimidating. the cries slowly softened, dying down while the baby stared up at bad, eyes wide. when the noise faded the baby raised a hand, poking at bad’s face. a soft smile formed on his expression, temporarily becoming distracted.
skeppy cleared his throat, arms folded. “bad, you have sap to take care of already, and dream for a week or so now, how’re you gonna handle a baby as well as those two?” his brows were furrowed, staring at bad with both concern and mild frustration.
the child’s expression shifted over, before a few giggles left the baby at the sight of skeppy. he froze up in shock, shoulders stiffening. grabby hands were made as bad walked over, “awe, they like you skeppy! and don’t worry i’ll figure out what to do with this little muffin.” bad smiled, watching the baby stare at skeppy in amazement and awe.
his throat cleared, turning his head away with a scoff and a soft ‘whatever’. bad smiled wider before turning around, humming softly while walking home. surely the others would be excited to have a little sibling! right? that’s what he thought anyways, because who could resist this adorable little muffin! bad poked softly at the baby’s cheek while thinking all of this.
the baby giggled loudly, wiggling their arms and legs slightly. “woah there little muffin, try not to fall!” he exclaimed, though he made sure not to be too loud. bad shifted the baby, readjusting his grip on them while the kid cooed back at him.
bad hummed a soft tune to the kid while approaching the house in the woods, pushing the door open with his hip, the lock needed to be fixed anyways. the moment he stepped into the house he heard the two kids talking.
“dreammmm, c’mon!” this was definitely sapnap, “just one more game!” there was a groan that followed sapnap’s pleading. “fine! but i’m hiding this time!” dream’s voice held an undertone of excitement, clearly not as hesitant as he showed.
the demon smiled at the boy’s interaction, “sap! dream! before you go i’d like you both to come here!” clearly they hadn’t heard the door open. the moment bad called sapnap came running around the corner of the front hallway, grinning with his arms up in the air. “dad!” he shouted before skidding to a halt, dream almost crashing into his back, barely keeping himself up by grabbing onto sapnap’s shoulders.
“hey guys, um, i found this little muffin all alone and so i uh, brought them back.” bad smiled, crouching down so the kids could see the baby. sap inched forward, dream peering over his shoulder down at the baby. the baby’s hands rose, making grabbing motions and cooing at the two new kids.
sapnap gasped at the action, slowly putting his hand forward. the baby’s hand curled around one of his fingers, giggling. dream watched with owlish eyes from behind sapnap, who was still staring down at the baby with a look of shock. dad smiled, overjoyed on how the interaction was going.
“is this my new sibling dad?” sapnap glanced up at bad, blinking. the demon’s smile grew softer, “yes they are, this little muffin is your new baby sibling.” he hummed, “do you wanna hold them sappy?”
his eyes flickered back down to the baby briefly, gulping nervously. “can i?” he asked. bad merely nodded, carefully passing the baby over to the seven year old, adjusting sap’s arms so he held the baby correctly.
sapnap stared down at the child, glancing back at dream with a grin. “i’m a big brother! and i’m gonna be a better one than you!” he gloated. dream gasped in mock offense, “no you’re not! i already have tubbo and mama puffy says i’m the best brother!”
the two bickered quieter than normal as bad took the baby back, chuckling at their interaction. this was gonna be an interesting family, wasn’t it?
- - - - - - - - - -
a sharp cry filled the air, silence came briefly after it. running footsteps came right after the cry as bad opened the door to the house. before he could say anything he heard sapnap speak, “are you okay?” his voice was filled with concern, though it was deeper now, older.
someone sniffled after sapnap asked them that, a softer, younger voice following. “yeah, i’m fine, thanks sap!”
bad smiled, relieved and content. it had been seven years since he’d brought you home, sapnap was fourteen now. he never regretted bringing you back, through all the years of learning you weren’t human just like the rest of them, and to you immediately being accepted into the family.
this is what a family was, and that brought him immense joy.

swimming troubles
request: platonic!ranboo x reader genre: fluff word count: 963 warnings: n/a summary: tommy tosses you into the water, and ranboo saves you
- - - - - - - - - -
“tommy no!” the shout left ranboo quickly, but it was too late. you shrieked while in the air, quickly splashing into the cold embrace of the ocean. tommy, not knowing you couldn’t swim, had thrown you into the waters after making a joke about turtles. the splash filled your ears, the sounds of water quickly overlapping everything. it was empty, holding your eyes shut at the tight sting of the water. after a quick moment you opened your eyes, spinning around to stare up at the reflective surface that was slowly getting away.
your eyes widened, and instinctively you gasped, though that proved to be a mistake when the water rushed into your mouth. it took everything to not start flailing around to try and swim to the surface, the ache beginning to grow in your lungs. as the pain had begun to spread to your limbs, another splash emerged from the water above. you could faintly see ranboo’s tail, blue-ish-gray particles floating off the half enderman. his dual eyes were glazed over, and not just because of the water. he grabbed you by the collar of your shirt, being an enderman, or at least half, gave him a longer reach and obviously made him taller. ranboo’s tail wrapped around your waist securely while moving your arms to wrap around his neck, and he slowly swam to the top of the water in snowchester.
you gasped when you both broke the surface, leaning heavily against the taller one. water spewed from your lungs, coughing harshly while continuously grappling with your lungs for air. ranboo swam you both back towards the edge, pulling you up and over before patting at your back. “are you alright?” his voice was the definition of concern while he stared at you, crouching and hunched over to check for any wounds.
tommy stood awkwardly to the side before quickly walking over, crouching to also check if you were alright. you pressed a hand onto the ground for support, labored breaths slowing down so you could answer. “yeah, yeah i’m fine now.” a small shiver left you, rattling down your spine from the cold. the blonde teen took off his snowchester jacket, tossing it onto you, which almost toppled you over from how thick it was. “here, sorry ‘bout that, didn’t know you couldn’t swim.” he grumbled, arms folded over his chest. goosebumps prickled at his skin, and as much as he stubbornly refused to make eye contact with you, he did sound apologetic.
“It’s fine tommy, thanks.” a low chuckle left you, though it sounded bitterly hoarse, “i don’t talk about it anyways.” truthfully you didn’t speak about it because you didn’t want to be seen as weak or vulnerable in any way. though this situation clearly went against what you wanted entirely, considering how much you were shivering and how red your face was from the cold. this was no ‘cute blush’ either like the stories said, this was a full-blown reddish-pink with snot threatening to drip out of your nose and tears welling in your eyes.
he nodded meekly, “just give it back to me tomorrow at my house, i forgot i need to go um, take care of my furnace yeah.” tommy cleared his throat awkwardly before turning, “bye!” the raccoon-personalited boy scrambled off quickly after that.
you pulled the coat tighter onto yourself, it was cold, really cold, but the coat was warm and smelled of grass and smoke. ranboo had taken a step back, tail now waving slightly behind him. he seemed uneasy, concerned but hesitant all together, “lets get to the house, it’ll be warmer there.” the half-enderman said, holding a hand out for you to take. as you grabbed his hand and he pulled you up, you noticed he wasn’t wet, despite leaping into the lake.
quickly you gasped, checking over his arms, of the areas you could see at least, “ranboo! you jumped into the water! are you alright?” he continued to lead you along, “yeah, i’m fine. tubbo’s been experimenting with water resistance potions for me, and i guess this prototype works.” ranboo shrugged, staring down at you before pushing the door open. he let your hand go, ducking his head so he could enter the home, quickly you followed suit.
it was only mildly concerning that tubbo was making more experiments, what was more concerning was, “why’d you test a potion you didn’t even know would work to rescue me idiot!” you scolded him, brows furrowing.
he paused at that, glancing back at you, “because if i didn’t you’d look more like a wet rat than usual? and more dead inside? instead of inside only it would be outside as well.”
that brought out a stifled, choked laugh from you while you sat down by the fire inside. “gee, thanks, i feel the love.” you were genuinely appreciative, concerned but appreciative. ranboo shook his head, sitting down behind you and dragging you into a hug. “don’t mention it.” he hummed, pulling a book out to the side and writing a few things down.
the book disappeared as quickly as it had appeared, and instead he put an actual story book in front of you. his head rested on top of your’s pretty easily, his spine even slightly hunched. “here, we still haven’t finished the book we were reading, ‘chambers of bone’.”
you leaned back into him while taking the book from him, opening it. both of you knew this was platonic, the entire area did, you treated each other more like best friends or siblings than anything else after all. a sense of contentment filled you, replacing the ache that once swelled in your chest ten minutes before, a smile spreading across your face.
“lets resume chapter eleven then.”

hey! hope you're doing okay! If you feel comfortable could you write something about irl!Dream comforting reader? I have a trauma from when my house was robbed when i was a kid and everytime i hear a noise during the night i get paranoid, have panic attacks and just can't sleep, i am only able to sleep comfortably during the day.
Please dont write it if you dont feel like it and take your time♥️
Sweet Comforts
request: irl!dream x reader genre: fluff word count: 514 warnings: fear of what’s in the dark & a panic attack summary: it’s not a fear of the dark, its whats in the dark that scares you beyond anything else, thankfully dream is here to help extra: sorry it took so long, i was celebrating my birthday and dealing with burnout!! :)
- - - - - - - - - - the night’s terrifying, or at least to you it was. most assumed it was the actual dark, not what it could potentially have in it. you weren’t an exception to that assumption, the jokes of ‘being afraid of the dark’ weren’t uncommon with your friends. none of them knew the reality of it, the crawling and spine shivering fear that clawed at you like vultures to the dead.
you stared up at the ceiling, seeing the sliver of light come from the window to your right. the sun had started to rise, that was how long you’d been trying to ignore everything around you. though, even with the blanket and covers on, which were woven through your hands with a tight grip, your tears felt warmer than anything around you.
a sniffle left you, such a weak feeling built up inside of you. you hated feeling like this, vulnerable, afraid, alone, small, but you couldn’t help it, who knew what lurked around any shadow after all. creaking alerted every one of your senses and you quickly clasped a hand over your mouth, feeling your breathing pick back up.
by the time your door opened you were already hyperventilating, tunnel vision on the door, and a ring through your ears that deafened the sound of your own quiet sobbing. though the door only revealed a tired, but concerned, looking clay. his brows were furrowed, green eyes glazing when he really took in the sight of you. it hurt to see you look at him in such fear, but he knew it wasn’t because it was him.
nonetheless, he froze while staring at you, waiting until you realized it was him. it was a minute or so until your tunnel vision faded slightly, finally recognizing clay even through the panic in your head. when he saw you slightly relax, mainly through your face, clay immediately went to your side. he waited for you to nod slightly before he pulled you into a hug, tucking your head into his chest. it was warmer here, warmer than your tears were at least, and his arms around you helped bring a feeling of safety.
clay muttered sweet nothings to you, comforting words that everything would be okay, that he’d protect you and always be there for you. his voice was nice, comforting in a way, even though it was barely heard through the ringing in your ears. “do you wanna tell me why you’re panicking like this?” he murmured, still keeping you close.
you shook your head against his chest, a hum resonating in his chest after your response. “alright, just know I’ll be here until you’re okay, alright?” he was clearly determined to simply comfort you, rubbing up and down your back while resting his head ontop of yours. in a way he was already comforting as is, he helped you forget what could be in the darkness, enveloped in a sense of safety and security. that’s what you felt anyways, especially as the drowsiness finally hit, and you closed your eyes, still leaning into his chest.

nail polish and jewelry
request: n/a pairing: karl jacobs x reader genre: fluff word count: 927 warnings: n/a summary: karl wants to help you put jewelry on and paint your nails
- - - - - - - - - -
staring at yourself in the mirror, you’d felt too much time had passed for such a simple activity. you’d struggled with the unclasp the small leather band karl had given you. it was a simple gift, but it held a lot of sentimental value, especially since it had only happened a few days after meeting each other.
it felt like your connection to each other had been instant, you two had simply clicked, and the leather band was only one of the first of many objects karl had given you. an aggravated sigh left you, grumbling before glancing around.
karl had appeared, seemingly walking over at the sound of your frustration. he leaned over your shoulders, wrapping his arms around your neck while looking down. “Need help there?” you leaned your head back into him, sighing while he giggled.
“yeah, the clasp won’t come undone.” as a show to your words you fumbled with the clasp again, brows furrowing. he paused, resting his head ontop of yours, humming softly to help calm you down. “why don’t we pause from this and go paint your nails like you said you wanted to?” karl suggested.
you paused before nodding, turning around. both of you stayed in the hug for a moment, before he let go and led you over to the couch, “i’ll be back with the paints!” karl sounded excited, which was great in your book. glancing down at your nails you couldn’t help but silently critique the way they were chewed down,a nervous habit that followed along through the years.
he returned quicker than you expected, jumping into the cushion in front of you with a grin. that took your attention away from your nails, especially when he gently grabbed your left hand. karl hummed before looking up from your hand, “so black or red?” he used his free hand to show the two nail polishes.
slowly you took both bottles with your right hand, humming, “can you do an in-between pattern like you have?” you asked, glancing down at his nails, which were currently pink and black.
a bright grin split across his expression, if that was even possible, “of course babe! we’ll do black on three and red on two, that okay?” you nodded in response to his question, his joy simply spreading to you, a new smile donning your own expression.
karl shook the bottles after taking them back, rubbing a thumb over your knuckles in the meanwhile. “so is there anything you wanna shop for later?” he hummed, opening the black nail polish while asking the question.
you hummed softly in thought, “we could go get new movies and blankets, oh or more snacks for the pantry!” that got a laugh from him, even while he was focusing so hard on painting your nails.
“you think we need more snacks?” he glanced up while he spoke, just to emphasize his question. you rose a brow down at him, even if he couldn’t see it, “you think we don’t?”
he shook his head in amusement, giggling, “of course we do, any specific kinds you wanna get?” karl set your hand to the side, specifically to rest ontop of his knee while grabbing your other hand.
“maybe some fruit and pretzels, those sound really good right now.” the conversation was casual, something you enjoyed. it helped get rid of your previous frustrations, his presence always did, it was nice.
“oh! can we get raspberries and strawberries if we’re getting fruit?” his movements paused while asking, grinning up at you from how he was hunched over.
you laughed softly, music to his ears really, “of course!” that was an obvious answer to you. it was clear how happy he was, humming to the tune of a song before leaning back, putting the cap to the black nailpolish on.
after a moment, and karl uncapping the red nail polish, you zoned out. before you knew it he had finished painting your nails, and was excitedly grinning at you while raising your hands.
the black and red mixed smoothly between your nails, and it hadn’t taken them long to dry, which was great. you grinned, you felt pretty, not only because of your nails but also because of how he was looking at you. that lovesick puppy expression he had was simply adorable, how could you not feel pretty when he was looking at you like you were the stars in the sky, or the stories books told.
“lets get your band on then yeah?” he piped up, leaning over and grabbing the band from the table. karl took his free hand away from your’s, which you hadn't even realized was holding your hand, in order to unclasp the leather band. it only took him a minute or so, which instead of being frustrated you were simply happy he got it unclasped.
he grinned, “victory royale!” karl proclaimed at the simple achievement, which got a laugh from you. while shaking your head in disapproval you held your wrist out, still snickering. he clasped the band around your wrist, keeping his hand on your arm for a little longer.
you glanced up, raising a brow at him before dragging karl into a hug. it was clear to you he wanted one. “thank you for the help karl.” you muttered to him while he shifted more comfortably into the hug.
“of course babe! have to help you when you need it.” karl smiled against your neck, content with how it was now.
“so when are we going shopping again?”

the batter battle
request: n/a pairing: c!tommy x reader genre: fluff/wholesome (this is platonic!!) word count: 412 warnings: n/a pronouns: gender-neutral summary: you’re teaching tommy how to bake, is it going well? haha..
- - - - - - - - - -
“tommy! you can’t add drugs to the cookies!” you shouted at the teenager. he only laughed loudly back, laughter mixed with a whine to his words, “but why not?” his words were drawled out, hovering a potion over the batter.
before he could drop the potion in you nudged him, harshly, away from the bowl, shaking your head. “we’re giving this to the others as a thank you, not to drug them up and rob them you little raccoon thief.” you snickered, waving your wooden spoon at him. some of the batter that had clung to the spoon swung off, a tiny piece of it hitting tommy’s shirt.
both of you froze, pausing when the batter hit tommy. he glanced down at his shirt before looking up at you, staring. “shit, fuck um- sorry tommy i didn’t mean for the batter to hit you-” the teenager quickly silenced you by making a mad dash for the bowl of batter, grabbing a handful and launching it at you.
the cookie batter smacked against your arm, and tommy burst out laughing at your shocked expression. slowly you blinked before grinning, “oh it’s on fucker- '' you quickly grabbed the batter sliding down your arm, launching it at tommy. he ducked just in time, lugging another small ball of cookie dough at you that you amazingly dodged.
it was a war of its own, you finding a few things of eggs to throw at tommy since he had the whole bowl of batter. suddenly he started throwing the dough at you like he was rapidly firing a bow, and you ducked behind a counter in order to dodge the fire. you glanced up at the ceiling, giving yourself a silent prayer before taking an egg. when his fire ceased you popped out from the side rather than above, throwing the egg at his forehead.
the egg made a cracking sound, splattering against his head, some of it even getting in his hair. he stumbled back like he’d been shot, gasping while dropping the bowl of batter. you cheered at your victory, neglecting the fact batter had stuck to your table and counter, and shirt. “suck it dickwad! i won this war!”
he laughed loudly, sitting up from where he’d ‘collapsed’, “yeah right you fuckin did! i’ll get you next time bitch!” together you laughed, tommy’s louder than yours. after a few moments you paused, glancing around your ruined kitchen.
“so you’re cleaning this mess up right?”

vocal delicacies
request: yes but by my friend haha pairing: dream x reader genre: fluff word count: 531 warnings: n/a pronouns: gender-neutral summary: dream asks you to repeat what you said, not that he didn’t hear you or anything, he just likes your voice.
- - - - - - - - - -
dream stared at you from the doorway, eyeing the fact you sat on the stairs just to be taller than him. you rose a brow at him, “something wrong dream?” you drawled out, as if you didn’t do this just to prove a point.
he rolled his eyes with a short laugh, “nothing’s wrong, just wondering when you’ll accept you’re shorter than me.” dream teased, snickering while mischievously gleaming at you. after his comment you flipped him off, leaning back against the stairs, folding one leg over your knee. “you’re an asshole.” you grumbled, brows furrowing.
his smile only grew, while he shook his head in amusement, “if you say so dear, if you say so” it was his turn to draw his words out, which seemed more antagonizing than what you had said in the same way before.
you stared at him for a moment before rolling your eyes with a scoff, “ugh, stop being so hot or i’m gonna kick your ass.” your voice was mumbled, but still audible. he was only a couple feet away after all, having walked closer to the stairs.
“I’m sorry what was that?” dream questioned, glancing up at you. his stared burned into your side, and you absolutely refused to look at him after what you just said, your face blooming in a light blush.
“were you not listening?” you expertly quipped back, expertly as long as you ignored the clear embarrassment to your words, and the slight shake to your voice. while you spoke you folded your arms over your chest, staring up at the ceiling of the second floor.
instead of saying anything back you only heard his footsteps, a small chuckle finally leaving the green-hooded man, especially when he suddenly appeared in your view. his mask was tilted slightly back, pulled up onto his head so that his eyes could meet your’s. he leaned down, close enough so that you could feel his breath, which sent a small shiver down your spine. “i was, your voice is just so nice,” he smiled warmly down at you, “like golden carrots being given to me with a regeneration potion on a silver platter, it’s a delicacy that i’ll always enjoy.”
at this point your face felt on fire, the blush spreading to your ears. dream hovered over you, glancing around your face for any sign of distaste or fear. the silence felt prolonged, tension weighing heavy on your heart.
it was minutes more before he finally leaned down, gently pressing his lips to the corner of your’s. he leaned back slightly more, glancing up at your eyes to meet your gaze. you had been staring at him, and before anything could be said he leaned back down again, capturing your lips with his own.
it was a gentle kiss that only lasted for a few seconds, but you swore it could’ve been hours with how the world felt like it froze. dream, when he did pull back again, smiled widely after he did, “so what was that about kicking my ass for being hot?” you froze before hitting his shoulder, hiding your head into his chest out of embarrassment while he laughed.

gentle reminders
request: n/a pairing: c!niki x reader genre: fluff word count: 883 warnings: self-deprecation pronouns: gender-neutral summary: you are talking shit about yourself while alone in your’s and niki’s bakery, and while you’re speaking out loud niki returns and hears you.
i used flowers and stars as things the character likes!! as i do see anyone can like that stuff(even if it is a stereotypical girl like), if you dont i do apologize but it was what i thought of at the time!! <3
- - - - - - - - - -
you leaned back in the chair behind the counter of the bakery. it was quiet outside, other than the water from the end of the river flowing by, creating some form of noise. the silence seemed loud, which should’ve been impossible by any measure, yet it seemed so real to you.
normally someone would’ve visited by now, wilbur, puffy, or tommy even. as much as the kid was loud at least he held a conversation with you. not even niki was nearby, out gathering materials for the bakery and home she had explained before leaving, hugging you while you stood in the kitchen.
but now that she was gone, leaving you to watch over the bakery, you were alone with your thoughts. for some people in this server this would be fine, but you had never vocalized your thoughts before. the doubts you had, the insecurities, or how you stared at your reflection for too long and critiqued yourself.
even at the thought of everything you could list about yourself that you hated made your eyes sting with tears. your eyes shimmered slightly, glossy from the forming tears. you were alone, surely it would be fine if you said it outloud, no one would hear, maybe it would be therapeutic. you’d heard tommy say things about himself out loud, though that was usually positive reinforcement to his growing ego.
your eyes remained on the ceiling, head back so the tears couldn’t fall, barely formed to begin with. “I’m so stupid,” you muttered, voice soft, memories of every embarrassing moment coming back like a tsunami, “blind, dense, fragile, sensitive.” the only thing you could think to do was keep going. as you spoke you leaned back up, head down and hands clasping behind your head, elbows propped up against the counter. “i don’t see what others see in me-” your voice cracked, hiccuping slightly as a few stray tears hit the counter, “maybe they see a facade, a lie. am i lying to them that i’m a good person? is it fake-”
suddenly you were forced to look up, a soft yelp of surprise leaving you when that happened. your previously clasped hands falling to the table while you looked upward. niki had silently come into the bakery, intending to surprise you with your favorite flowers before she had heard your self-deprecating rant. she had decided to step in almost as soon as she heard you, and had grabbed your chin and forced you to look at her.
just from looking at her, or the situation being obvious, you knew she had heard you. maybe it was the new fire-y look in her eyes or how she was frowning at you. though her frowning only reinforced your opinion that you were putting up a front.
before anything could be said she let go, walking around the counter and quickly bringing you into a hug. you were still in a small state of shock when she did so, subconsciously leaning your head into her shoulder for comfort. your body was still tense, even when niki began to speak. “everything you just said about yourself isn’t true. you are so kind to everybody, generous, and you are so strong against everything that has happened. you have been through everything with us, and have stood up for me countless times. been my voice when i can’t speak.” niki’s voice cracked slightly at the end, her grip around you tightening.
“please, you are so much better than you think you are.” she finished, leaning back to look you in the eyes. tears stained her shoulders, from you obviously, and when you finally looked her in the eyes you could see just how glossy they had become.
suddenly you broke out into a sob, pulling her back for a hug and weeping into her shoulder. she could only return the hug, rubbing comfortingly at your back. “i’m so tired, niki.” you murmured, your sobbing turning into sniffling after a few minutes.
“i know love.” niki hummed, leaning back from the hug again. “you’re tired of yourself and what we’ve been through,” she hit the head on the nail with that comment, “but you are so perfect to me.” as she spoke she leaned forward, pressing a gentle kiss between your brows. “i could go on about everything i love about you, from how you glow when you talk about the stars or flowers you love, or how you get this cute little grin when you’re in a conversation you enjoy.”
her words soothed you more than she knew, “a gentle reminder, everyone here appreciates you, you’re not lying to any of us.” niki had seen you at your worst before, so you knew she wasn’t lying. your heart swelled, able to hear the gentle bumping in your own ears. slowly you leaned back into a hug, sniffling quietly. “thank you niki.” you murmured, tightening your hold on her.
“of course, i’d do anything for you.” niki hummed in return. silence set between you both, comfortable silence. both of you were content with the silence, finding comfort in how the other was becoming your pillar. eventually you grew tired, crying was a draining hobby after all. finally, you fell asleep in her arms, comfortable and happy, feeling better than before.

you’re not a monster
request: n/a pairing: technoblade x reader genre: fluff word count: 471 warnings: n/a pronouns: gender neutral summary: “i’m a monster” “no, you’re not.” - - - - - - - - - - “i’m a monster.”
techno’s former silence had been disrupted by his words, eyes set on the ceiling. you glanced over at him from where you sat. it was a rhetorical comment, not meant to have a response. the words were spoken like a fact rather than an opinion, not to be disputed or argued against.
his pink hair was down and against the bed, his roots were a darker pink in contrast to his light pink hair. a frown tugged at your lips, he hadn’t been keeping up with his hair, a bad sign. you stood, slowly walking to the couch. instead of continuing to sit on the bed, you sat beside techno, staring up at the ceiling with him. “no, you’re not.” your voice was soft, to fit the atmosphere of the room.
“the voices say otherwise.” his words were slow, a deep frown matching his sad words. “the voices are too hard on you techno.” a sigh left after your words, though it came from techno rather than you.
he kept his eyes on the ceiling while uttering a phrase that broke your heart, “but what if they’re right?” it wasn’t the first time he’d said this, though usually it didn’t have as much of a sad tone to it. techno sounded like a broken kid, someone who’d neglected his own feelings for too long, focused too much on his own walls and defense rather than who he was, or how he was.
you turned your attention from the ceiling to techno, looking slightly upward at him. his gaze moved down to meet your’s as you looked at him. “the voices are wrong techno, you are so much more than what they tell you. you’re not a failure, you’re not a blood machine.” you leaned your head forward, forehead against his shoulder, “ the wars you fought don’t define you.”
techno was silent for a moment before you were pulled into a hug, head against his chest. “thank you.” he muttered, of course your words didn’t suddenly ‘fix’ him, no that was impossible. but your words made his heart swell, it comforted him in the slightest way.
“of course.” you hummed, calmly combing your hands through his hair, arms looping under his arms in order to do so. he was silent for a little more, content with you running your hands through his hair. to others, maybe he was a monster, a bloodthirsty piglin who had nothing but war on his mind, but to you, he was the fighter. always fighting but never the fought for.
soon enough his weight leaned into you more, having fallen asleep. his body was slightly curled over your’s, in a protective way. and while it was a bit uncomfortable, you wouldn’t switch what you had with techno for anything else in the world.

your shirt’s nice, it’s mine now <3
request: n/a pairing: c!sapnap x reader genre: fluff word count: 1205 words warnings: n/a pronouns: gender neutral summary: you and sapnap are exploring, and after a long day you go home, except instead of your pajamas, you simply take one of his shirts. - - - - - - - - - - you swing your sword down, cutting the staggering zombie down. it fell, to return to the dead once again. close by sapnap was doing something similar, shield up and blocking a skeleton’s incoming arrow. while he was on defense you quickly moved around the skeleton, shifting your grip on your sword before ripping your sword through the skeleton’s body, or rather non-existent one. it crumbled like dust, and sapnap lowered his shield.
“thanks, but i could’ve handled that.” he snickered, puffing his chest out in confidence. “i’m sure you could’ve, but let's head out of this dark forest and then you can keep boasting about your strength.” you snickered, which led to sapnap laughing gleefully with you. together you walked out of the forest, content with your traveling.
though when you did finally manage to leave the dark forest it was clear the sun would be setting soon, and the night was never a safe place. you paused, tugging at the end’s of your shirt while glancing up at the sky. sapnap had moved to stand close beside you, placing a hand on your shoulder to get your attention. “lets get home before the monsters spawn, it looks like it might rain too.” as much as he enjoyed the rain, it wasn’t pleasant to travel home in.
with a small hum you nodded, “where’d we leave the boat?” that got him to pause, sapnap letting out a little ‘um’. another small laugh left you, patting at his arm before grabbing his hand. “c’mon, we left it by the oak forest rather than the dark forest.” he chuckled bashfully in response, “uh- right I knew that.”
you rolled your eyes, “i’m sure you did sap.” sapnap scoffed at your sarcastic doubtfulness, but let himself be led nonetheless, content with his hand in yours. a warmth spread through him, blooming at where your palms connected. it was like a tingle in his arm that flooded his chest, a smile grew on his expression, subconsciously squeezing your hand a little tighter. he liked the feeling you gave him, a lot.
while you walked you had become more aware of his hand in yours, not like it was unusual for you to hold hands, but that never made it any less nice. finally you found the boat, hesitantly letting go of his hand, biting your tongue to prevent a frown from forming. “lets get home!” instead you smiled, gesturing for sapnap to get in the boat first.
he rolled his eyes, “your wish is my command, but must you make me do all the work?” a low snicker followed his words. you only followed his snicker with a tiny bout of laughter. “you say that but i’m the one trading for the map we got and killing the mobs.” as you settled down you poked between his shoulder blades. sapnap shook his head in amusement, glancing back at you. your attention focused on his expression, dark amber almost brown eyes that seemed to glow in the dimming sun, the sweat that just barely laced his forehead after your long day, and his smile that made your heart swell.
sapnap rose a brow, “you want an autograph along with your picture?” he snickered when you hit his shoulder. “get back to rowing boat boy.” you huffed, a blush quickly spreading across your face. that only made him laugh harder, though he complied without a word.
most of the ride was filled with the sound of the paddles moving through the water or light conversation, mostly over what you would do when you got home. though when it was silent you were slowly becoming acutely aware of just how close you were. the fact you could hear his breathing every now and then, or how close your knees were to his back, even how his shoulder blades moved when he rowed the paddles. your face flushed further, messing with the ends of your shirt. you refused to mention it or point anything out to him, not wanting to endure a relentless amount of teasing.
before sapnap could notice your flushed state, and even when you were almost home, his former prediction had ended up true. you glanced up when a droplet hit you, quick to shield your eyes from the incoming rain. “ugh really? we’re almost home and everything.” he grumbled. “yeah, hopefully it doesn’t get too hard though.” you murmured, still covering your eyes while looking back down.
the rain clung to the back of your shirt, slipping past your armor. it was the same for sapnap, uncomfortably webbing his two shirts to his back and arms. soon your home came into view, and sapnap was quick to dock the boat while you both hurried inside. you held the door open for him, and he couldn’t help but make a sarcastic comment, “how gentlemen-ly of you.” that brought a laugh from your throat while you closed the door, kicking your shoes off.
“only the most chivalrous acts for you.” you retorted quickly, both of you snickering together. he shook his head while you tugged at the ends of your shirt. sapnap was the first to actually get undressed and out of the wet clothes, tugging his shirts off his head while unsteadily walking to your room.
you stared at his back for a moment before shaking your head, snapping out of it. this was no time to admire him, you needed to get out of your wet clothes, and asap. a large white shirt sat on the back of a chair, and that caught your eye. slowly you glanced between the door sapnap had closed and the door. you knew the shirt was freshly taken off the drying line this morning, considering you’d been the one to wake up early and do it, not willingly of course.
before you could even think it through, or overthink actually, you had already started peeling your wet shirt off, tugging the extra large, white shirt on. it fit perfectly, or well, it covered all the way down past your knees. a smile bloomed across your face, tugging your combat pants off and sliding a dry pair of sweatpants on, comfortable and content.
as soon as you finished getting dressed sapnap walked out of the room, a loose gray shirt and sweatpants on as his pajamas. he stared at you for a moment, raising a brow while gesturing to your clothes, “my shirt huh?” you stared right back at him, “your shirt’s nice, its mine now.” you smiled boldly at him while walking to the kitchen.
a laugh left him after you started walking, “keep it, you look cute in it.” sapnap smiled, following you. your face lit up in a blush again, but sapnap didn’t stop there, “maybe that should be your pajamas.”
his arms slid around your waist, resting his head ontop of your’s. you rolled your eyes, “only if you insist.” glancing up at sapnap after a moment. he lifted his head to look down at you, “if it gets you to wear my shirt all the time i’ll insist all the time then.” after speaking he leaned his head down, gently kissing your forehead.
“now lets eat something, i’m starving.”
