i've literally been thinking abt this for like months like just imagine if you woke up and had fucking zhongli in your kitchen investigating your microwave??? its been so long since ive actually written out a fic and not just headcannons so my apologies if this sucks

summarry: after your father helps fund your rent, you suddenly find that your fresh, unfurnished apartment is bustling with the very tevyat men you adored <3

characters: zhongli, venti, kaeya, diluc, albedo, klee, ayato, kazuha, thoma, childe, xiao, itto, aether

Perhaps your father went a bit overboard when he chose your apartment.

If anything, such a large home would feel more empty than anything, especially since you didn't have furniture yet. In fact, buying furniture was all up to you, you promised your father that after he invested so much in your apartment you’d take care of the rest.

At the moment, you had decorated your 2 bedroom apartment with your bed frame and mattress along with all your sheets, a desk, your computer, a sparsely decorated bookshelf, and all your appliances. No couch, no tv, no dining table. Just a large, empty space. Ignoring the rest of your home, you made your room as comfortable as humanly possible. It helped that you had all the decoration from when you lived with your father, and by sunset you were finally ready to relax with a bit of entertainment. Tonight, you favored playing some Genshin pre-sleep.

By midnight you found yourself absolutely drained, Ayato at friendship lvl 10 and nothing left for you to do but hop in bed and get a bit of shuteye, completely unaware of the fact that you've left the world of Tevyat open, and currently Aether was finally initiating plan takeover.

Upon waking up, the first thing you hear is your alarm, naturally you groggily open your eyes. The second thing you hear is your laptop overheating. And the third is several male voices coming from your kitchen.

You're startled, rightfully. Ignoring the whole "oh-my-god-there's-people-in-my-apartment-am-i-being-robbed" thing, you look towards the sound of your laptop crying for help. Genshin is clearly displayed on the screen, but not quite the way you remember it. Suddenly, you're looking at Albedo's little camp in Dragonspine and half of your party is gone, only leaving a lonely Ayaka and Diona. Odd, you think, but maybe it's just a bug, or maybe your cat decided to nap on your keyboard and mouse and you ended up in Dragonspine somehow (unlikely, seeing as you had just left off in Inazuma).

Back to the most startling thing, however: the voices. What were you going to do? You could call the police, in fact you already had your phone in your hand, ready to dial (but this is a fanfiction, you have to go see what's happening instead of getting your love interests arrested).

You grab a bat, 911 ready to be called on your phone, only requiring one button press. Slipping on your cute cat slippers--the ones your aunt had gotten you for your birthday--you slowly tip-toe towards your bedroom door. You reach for the door handle but before you can get to it it turns, opening to reveal-

...a...an Albedo cosplayer?

Oh my fucking god, is your brand new apartment being raided by fucking Genshin cosplayers?

You go to scream your lungs out but before that "Albedo" puts a hand over your mouth.

"Well this didn't quite go to plan."

"Excuse me?" He questions, "Allow me to-"

Pushing your way past "Albedo" you find yourself in your lovely entrance hallway. For one, wow that is an insane Albedo cosplay, and they sound exactly like his voice actor, but also what the fuck what the fuck what the fuck-

Once you finally are a decent distance from "Albedo", bat held high over your shoulder and phone long forgotten, you hear another voice from behind you.

"It's them, they're the one who has been controlling me for months."

Was that Aether's voice actor? Upon spinning around quickly you find another cosplayer and can hear the other voices much more clearly. Why are they in your home? And why are all their cosplays so spot on you would think that they're actually the characters-

Oh.

No no, that cant exactly be right. This is real life for you, this isn't some sort of tumblr fanfiction, this is your apartment and this is your body and this is your bat and those are the hottest men you've seen in your life.

"Aether? I- wait, wait a second, give me a moment I just need to process this."

Let's say somehow this was what you thought it was, let's say this is the real Albedo and Aether and they've managed to get themselves out of Genshin and into your home. Let's just entertain a possible sagau scenario for a second and think a little harder about this.

Evidence its real:

❥ you have the most accurate real life portrayals of one of your Friendship lvl 10 characters right in front of you (and the traveler)

❥ this morning you found your laptop open on genshin in dragonspine with Ayato and Kaeya missing from your party, and you could almost swear their voices were lingering in the kitchen

Evidence its fake:

❥ lmao cant happen in real life duh

"Ok- Ok, I'm calling the cops, I can't believe I'm getting robbed by genshin cosplayers what the fuck, you're all going to jail I swear to god I'm not dealing with this today-"

Unfortunately, you soon realize your phone is in "Albedo's" hands as he slowly walks up behind you.

"You are y/n, right?" He asks as he investigates your phone.

"Why would I tell you, listen for someone who claims to have found a way out of a video game you don't seem to be very smart." You nearly facepalmed at his question.

To be honest, you weren't sure why you decided to continue conversating with the men who broke into your home, but something about the sheathed swords both of them carried was a bit more intimidating than your plastic bat.

Albedo looked up from your phone.

"What's a cosplayer, might I ask?" He questions softly as you hear Aether step closer. "Aether, are you sure this is them? They don't seem to recognize us..."

"I know that its them, I couldn't mistake the person who's been controlling me so diligently."

"What do you mean controlling? I- Ok I appreciate the dedication to the whole sagau thing but its not going to get you out of trouble with the cops and-"

"Y/n, just give me a moment to explain-" Aether pleads with you, stepping towards you as you step back.

"...I don't know. You cant just transport people from a video game into real life, I mean-"

"But we did." That "Albedo" certainly had a knack for interrupting you, didn't he? "Allow me to recount our journey to you."
