Did you ever deal with the “green flags are so corny” and “true love makes me cringe” feelings— I can’t find a better way to describe it, sorry. If so, how did you move past that? I find myself very turned off because I see a green flag and logically know it’s good but I get super paranoid and uncomfortable etc

I think you may need to spend time analysing your reasons for finding a healthy, supportive relationship to be something which induces "cringe", "paranoia" and "discomfort" in you. What has happened in your life, and how do you feel about yourself, that makes you feel that a healthy/supportive relationship is disingenuous? Or that you're not worthy of one?

Equally, why you you then look at unhealthy relationships and feel like they're aspirational?

Ultimately, the first step would be recognising that these feelings may be abnormal. Then, trying to assess the root cause of that. You may be able to do this yourself, or you may need some support.

There is generally a societal push towards sexual hyper aggression in men, and submissiveness in women. It's important to remember than a sexual dynamic can exist separately from a relationship dynamic, and in my experience, hyper aggressive, jealous, possessive partners rarely make good ones, even if they turn you on.

Ultimately it's about your willingness to change. Finding a "Green Flag" partner who is happy to be, in a safe way, "less green flag in the bedroom", is more likely than you think.
