He didn’t know that he would have to provide for her strange cravings when he had asked her out. She’d demand for eyeballs (lollipops) and guts (noodles), all of which he could find easily enough at the local pet store. Yet, no matter how much he fed her, it seemed she was always hungry. She’d act innocent enough, but as they’d cruise together in his Mustang on empty dark roads, he’d glimpse her eyeing him hungrily, lips smacking, her wild hair perfumed with blood.

“Smoothie” ……. Acrylic is definitely not a medium that I am used to working with, so I think I had really gone in over my head a bit. I've paid the price for my zealousness through blood🩸 , sweat💦 and tears🥲. Lol There had been many times while I was painting this that I felt like just giving up, but I'm glad I pushed through. I really could have just taken it easy and stuck with mediums that I am more comfortable with such as watercolor, gouache, and ink, but I really love do love to challenge myself, as it is really the only way to learn and improve. Plus, it's always way more interesting! Overall, I had a lot of fun with this painting and had learned alot! I hope to explore more with acrylics in the future!

Memento Vivere “Remember that you must live”

This piece is a callback to the artistic representation of “Memento Mori” which was a popular theme explored in 16-17th century European artwork. A concept born out of the era of Classical Antiquity, Memento Mori is a reminder of mortality and that all must die eventually. Some of my favorite artwork from this era are paintings that illustrate beautiful bouquets of flowers displayed alongside fruits. At first glance, it seems like a straight-forward painting, but as one looks closer, they might notice signs of decay in the seemingly lavish and bountiful depiction, such as the withering flower in the back or the fly sitting on one of the fruits. It’s a reminder that, no matter how rich or poor, beautiful or plain, death comes for us all. As much as this piece is also a callback to one of my older pieces I’ve done back in 2019, “Surburt Space Prince” where I wanted to explore color and botany, this piece makes the opposite statement to Memento Mori. An ode to Optimism, the vibrant colors of Memento Vivere reminds the viewer of Life, and to live in the moment, is to live it in its fullest capacity.

“Black Box” 6x9” prints available $7 She was trapped and made to lie still with all of her limbs exposed. She stayed that way for a long time until dust coated her like powdered sugar, and she felt just like an ornate moth mounted inside a black box of a picture frame.

This is nano, a robot girl who has been invented by the 8-year old genius professor, Hakase 🤖 👶 lol Nano is self conscious about being a robot throughout the show and just wants to be a normal high school girl. (Kind of like Pinocchio?)
