I really hope Jensen Ackles will get to play Batman or a guy from the MCU, a HUGE role because I want to see him at a DC/Marvel/whatever convention, with James Gunn, Pedro Pascal and/or Sebastian Stan, I want to see him answer questions about his role, how did he prepare, what did he like about the movie etc. And then. A girl from the audience stands up and takes the mic to ask one last question. He squints and suddenly turns pale.
She's wearing a destiel tshirt.

and very, very often, self care is not plants and ice rollers and fluffy blankets of peace.
it’s standing over your kitchen sink and crying while doing the dishes because you just want to go back to bed but the dishes need done. and you don’t know why you’re crying but you're trusting you need it. and you aren’t listening to the music that pulls you into a spiral; you’re listening to some cheerful shit your friend sent you. it’s getting up and staring at your fridge and closing your eyes and then cooking yourself food even though you hate it and it’s miserable. because you know that you’d cook for your friend, and you are trying to befriend yourself. it’s dragging yourself into the shower because you know you’ll feel better afterwards. it’s doing mundane tasks with patience, cursing under your breath, trying desperately to give yourself grace. grace is the beginning of care. care is the beginning of love.
we think it’s supposed to be peace and yet the most powerful self care moments are when we hate everything but especially ourselves. and life does not feel worth the loving. to look into that pain and yet choose to care for yourself in however many pieces you are — that is care. love. grace. trust. belief. it hurts because it’s love where there was no love before. it heals because it believes there will be love, one day, soon.

Not to be dramatic but Barbie was absolutely amazing.
America Ferrera’s monologue on what it’s like being a woman in a man’s world was so wonderfully done.
You’re never enough. You have to be a leader but always looking out for everyone, you must acknowledge the system but oh don’t mention it too much or else you’re complaining or ungrateful.
You have to love being a mother but god forbid you talk about your kids. You have to perfect all the damn time and if you’re not, if you’re not for just even a second, you get thrown to the wolves.
Barbie is about discovering your place, your identity in a world that wants to put you in a box. It’s about the conundrums and contradictions of femininity and the aching feeling of being judged to impossible standards.
But it’s also a celebration of girlhood. It’s about unity and what it means to be human. It’s about highs and lows, the depression and the joy.
The complexity of consciousness and the relationships we build with simple thoughts and actions that can last a wonderful lifetime. And that is what it means to be human in a world that’s always changing.
It’s about motherhood and the beautiful line of “Mothers stand still, so daughters can look back to see how far they’ve come”
We have to accept changes and grow with them, because if we don’t, we’ll forever be stuck not acknowledging ourselves.

Certain People: THE BARBIE MOVIE IS ANTI-MEN
anyone who actually paid attention: the Barbie movie is about how both matriarchy and patriarchy are damaging to people and that no one will be happy as long as people feel unequal and you shouldn’t base your happiness on once person and you shouldn’t force your feelings on another person, especially if they’ve told you that they’re not interested in you. In this essay I will

thinking about the scene in barbie where she asks for permission to be herself and she's told she doesn't need permission, and no one can give her permission for that, because it's just something you start doing
thinking about the scene in barbie where they say you don't need to be exceptional to have worth and deserve love, because just getting through the day is often hard enough
also thinking about the scene in barbie where barbie tells a bunch of construction workers she doesn't have a vagina and the construction workers who have no context beyond her being a pretty girl are like "oh okay that's cool"

“It’s literally impossible to be a woman.
You are so beautiful, and so smart, and it kills me that you don't think you're good enough. Like, we have to always be extraordinary, but somehow, we're always doing it wrong?
You have to be thin, but not too thin, and you can never say you wanna be thin. You have to say you wanna be healthy, but also, you have to BE THIN.
You have to have money, but you can't ask for money because that's crass.
You have to be a boss, but you can't be mean.
You have to lead, but you can't squash other people's ideas.
You're supposed to love being a mother, but don't talk about your kids all the damn time.
You have to be a career woman, but also, always be looking out for other people.
You have to answer for men's bad behavior, which is INSANE, but if you point that out, you're accused of complaining!
You're supposed to stay pretty for men, but not so pretty that you tempt them too much or that you threaten other women because you're supposed to be a part of the sisterhood, but ALWAYS STAND OUT and ALWAYS BE GRATEFUL. But never forget that the system is rigged, so find a way to acknowledge that but ALSO, always be grateful!
You have to never get old. Never be rude. Never show off. Never be selfish. Never fall down. Never fail. Never show fear. Never get OUT OF LINE. It's too hard! It's too contradictory, and nobody gives you a medal or says 'thank you!' And it turns out, in fact, that not only are you doing everything wrong, but also, everything is your fault.
I'm just so tired of watching myself, and every single other woman tie herself into knots, so that people will like us.
And if all of that, is also true for a doll just representing a woman, then I don't even know." -Gloria the barbie movie
this is it. this is exactly it oh my god.

This was THE scene!! The way Barbie was afraid of being perceived as “ugly” and trying to avoid aging just for her to see people in the real world and understand what it really means. The way she softly says “you’re beautiful” and the woman plays along with her by saying “I know”. The way it was her first good experience with someone in the real world. Everything about it was just perfect
