It would be best to accept your trans children because they could become depressed and suicidal and will not feel safe coming to you for other things. Reasons to accept your trans children are to respect their pronouns and name change. They would feel safe coming to you for other things. They will feel safe at home and will not become distant from you.

One of the reasons why it is best to accept your trans children is that if you do not respect their pronouns and name change, they can become suicidal and commit suicide because of it. “The Trevor Project’s 2022 National Survey on LGBTQ Youth Mental Health found that 45% of LGBTQ youth seriously considered attempting suicide in the past year, including more than half of transgender and nonbinary youth. The Trevor Project estimates that more than 1.8 million LGBTQ youth (13-24) seriously consider suicide each year in the U.S. — and at least one attempts suicide every 45 seconds” (The Trevor Project, n.d). This shows that you need to accept your trans children because they could become the next statistic. Another reason is that they will not feel safe at home, would stop coming to you about their problems, and could cut you out of their lives when they eventually move out. “Research suggests that among LGBTQ youth, only one-third experience parental acceptance, with an additional one-third experiencing parental rejection, and the final one-third not disclosing their LGBTQ identity until they are adults (Katz-Wise et al., 2015). Another study found that LGBTQ young adults who report high levels of parental rejection are eight times more likely to report attempting suicide and six times more likely to report high levels of depression (Ryan et al., 2009).” (The Trevor Project, n.d). This shows just how important it is to accept your children no matter what. Another reason is that if you do not accept them, they will feel like home is not a safe space anymore, and they will start to distance themselves from you and stop talking to you about anything. “Fewer than 1 in 3 transgender and nonbinary youth found their home to be gender-affirming, and a little more than half (51%) found their school to be affirming. The Trevor Project’s research consistently finds that LGBTQ young people report lower rates of attempting suicide when they have access to LGBTQ-affirming spaces.” (The Trevor Project, n.d). This shows that you need to accept your trans child because it will lower the chances of them being depressed and suicidal.

What about Peter having to pick new stickers for his dexcom? When daddies replace the sensor it feels icky so to make it a better experience they let him pick fun transmitter and patch stickers.

The Dexcom is a sensor that tracks your glucose levels continuously throughout the day and night. It has a little needle that punctures the skin and so it has to be changed and replaced with a new sensor regularly.

Little Peter hates when his Daddies have to change the sensor, so Daddies make sure that the experience is as comfortable as possible for Peter.

“Which one do you want this time, baby?”

“… The foxes?”

“Yeah? Good choice. You wanna be held by Daddy while I change it?”

Peter nods eagerly, letting Tony lay him back so that his back is against Daddy’s chest. Stephen does all the work with changing the sensor.

“Slight pinch now.” Stephen warns.

Peter whimpers a little when the needle enters his skin, but he doesn’t wanna cry.

“Good job, baby! Look, it’s so cute, isn’t it? You’re getting so good at this, Petey. Next time will be even easier.”
