Interesting pick, I've always found him to be an interesting character -

The two would know of each other before the movie considering how important the other is to fae politics but wouldn't know each other personally nor met.

Probably would have seen each other in the years when he petitions High King Eldred for the extinction of human race. Merope understands his view and does agree on something but not to the extent that the humans must be wiped out.

Nuada would probably have heard of Merope though the grapevine, the strange girl with clear eyes, adopted by the Addams, who so many powerful and influential creatures took a likening too - he wouldn't be the only one but I don't think he would have looked too much into it.

✍️: Overall, how does the fandom trait you? Are you a beloved character, or hated? Are you popular, or a minor side character? Anything in between?

I feel like people would be annoyed by her. When I look at Oberyn stuff not a lot of people include the sand snakes, or the fact that Oberyn is a very devout father. Don't get me wrong I do think that some people would like her but on a whole I think she would be seen as a somewhat minor character among minor characters.

📝: How would your story in canon go? How would you influence the events of the original story?

Marya's story starts in Harrenhal during Lord Whent's great tournament in the year of the false spring. The festival was held by Lord Walter Whent to celebrate the name day of his maiden daughter but ended with the planting the seeds of Robert's Rebellion. Oberyn had went to be with his sister Elia and ending up sleeping with the before mentioned maiden daughter of Lord Whent. This all resulted in Marya.

After the rebellion, Lord Whent send a raven to Dorne for Oberyn to collect his newly born bastard daughter. She spent her childhood and teen-years in the water gardens with her father's family. Until she stole one of her uncle's small Junk ships and sailed to Lys. Afterwards she started a business, trading lemons, dornish styled dresses and assorted goods to Essos and other parts of Westeros.

I do like the idea of her meeting other important characters via this. There are a few things I am still planning but the only big change that I have fully planned is that when Oberyn accepts to be Tyrion's champion, Marya spikes his cup. Not enough to kill him but enough to incapacitated him as to take his place when he is to fight the Mountain.

🪐: What would be your most popular AU and why?

Hmm, maybe a HouseSwap AU? One where Marya was born into a different family. Or had picked a side on the war?

OH - an au where she was kept by her mother's family!! Raised outside of Dorne, her whole story and world view would she totally shifted. Especially because north of Dorne they don't really have a good view on Bastards. I think it would be the most popular because of all the possibilities like would she met Rob Stark? Or Arya?

🎞️: What ‘canon’ scenes would the fandom point to as evidence for the validity of your ship?

i don't have any romantics for game of thrones ( though I have been side eyeing a few if you know what I'm saying) so for this I'm going to pick Ellaria.

I think most people would point to the trial scene where Marya takes Oberyn's place to fight the mountain. Ellaria is fighting tooth and claw for Marya to come back onto the dials, jerking and flinching every time Marya got hit. When she wins, Ellaria would race off the dials to hug the girl. This I feel like would be the scene that would get fans to say "yeah, Ellaria is Marya's mother"

💌: How would your dynamic be portrayed? What might people focus on most? Any misconceptions?

Once again, she's not in a relationship at the mo but a misconceptions about her could be that she's a secret player of the game for the iron thrones. In truth, she has no interest in it. As long as she can travel and her family is safe, Marya is more than happy to avoid that blasted iron chair.

Pet: Amanita owns a 7ft long male eastern indigo snake (Drymarchon couperi) named Quetzal, a pet she found out in the wild one year when xe was 10 years old and on a family trip with Morticia and Gomez who took her down through Florida to visit the Everglades and later, the Bermuda Triangle to try and look for Uncle Fester.

Fun fact: they are non-venomous yet part of their eclectic diet includes highly venomous snakes. This fact amuses Amanita to no end.

Magic: shadow magic (travel through shadows, blend into shadows, manipulate forms of shadows, use shadows as spies, make shadows tangible), some (vague) fortune telling via tarot card readings, potion making, seeing and speaking with ghosts.

Hobbies: letter writing, hosting tea / dinner parties, visiting art galleries, making homemade tea, gardening, swordfighting, cooking/baking, reading, drawing, photography, visiting cemeteries to commune with spirits, playing chess and other board games with loved ones, going on long walks throughout London.

Poison of choice: Amanita prefers using death cap mushrooms (Amanita phalloides) since the genus in which they are part of are her namesake--Morticia often calls xem her "precious little death cap". Amanita usually administers it through brewing and serving as tea and comes paired with sugar cubes.

Merope's house in Trost - it's a small, cramped attic space with a red door and is located in the red light distract. herbs hang from the ceiling, jars, bottles and books litter every shelf. All source of sunlight is found from one large window. It is above a brothel, so the smell of incense often rises up. Clothes dry on the line outside. Old scarfs and scrapes of fabric hang from the ceiling, closing off certain areas like the bedroom, the wash stand and the living/ work area. Cats stray though the window, blacks cat especially . With the lack of space, all had to share a bed back then, the bed covers mismatching but comfy all the same. Its not a space ment for four but it does us all well.

its been a while since i posted any self-ship things, so i'm starting a game. show me what you and your f/o's house looks like. i'll start:

kelsmin’s house — smells like incense. has natural sunlight during the day, dim and cozy lighting in the evening/night. seems like every time you turn a corner, there’s a cat looking at you asking to be pet. you might see shadows out the corner of your eyes. there’s little trinkets and do-dads everywhere because armin and i hoard collect things. dinner is always at 6pm, and everyone is welcome <3
