i think in dolce we should have gotten something similar to the “i think i’ll eat your heart” scene instead of the brain sawing. lay will down on the table like he’s a feast, lean over him, spread his shirt, say the lines from red dragon, cut too shallow over where his heart is with a scalpel, and postpone it as much as hannibal can just like the brain sawing. hannibal might even call will courageous for trying to kill him just before. we could see blood dripping down his chest and onto the table and focus the score on the beating of his heart. when he is hung upside down in the verger truck, the blood can drip down his chest and onto his face. and when he looks in the mirror shirtless in s3b we will see the very intimate scar right where his heart is as everything else shatters around him. 10,000 points for homoeroticism and tragedy!

in the original source, the brain eating was done to a misogynistic piece of shit in defence of hannibal’s love. it doesn’t make sense for will at all, aside from the vague idea that hannibal likes how will’s brain works (he probably likes every part of will, really). they probably just wanted to do their own version of the iconic scene, but it could have been done with anyone.

the heart dialogue doesn’t fit well into the actual gutting scene like it’s originally from, but it fits perfectly when hannibal actually “wants” to kill him. mads once said this:

“I think that there’s different ways, and different reasons for eating people. Eating the rude is one thing. Eating your loved ones is a different thing. But it’s all about consuming people and take their power, take their love and so it becomes part of you as well.”

hannibal could only eat what was left of mischa, the part of her that he prayed to see. with will, while he’s still doing his best to stay distant and impersonal, he still knows that he needs to eat will because he loves him. i don’t think he would take any half measures in consuming the person he currently loves most in the world, maybe the only person he has ever been in love with because of the lack of mention of lady murasaki in the show. it’s most appropriate to eat his heart, especially after showing will his own through the murder tableau. 

all the more cultured hannibal blogs could probably find some heart-eating parallels in classical lit and greek myth am i right or am i right c’mon bryan why did you deprive us of this

there is no way hannibal meant to survive if he really went through with eating will’s brain in season 3. not only is it confirmed that he deliberately went slowly so he’d get caught, but also, eating a human brain kills you. eating another person’s brain causes a neurodegenerative disease called kuru which basically makes you lose control of your body and your mind and then kills you within a few years. there is no way hannibal, as a whole doctor and a whole cannibal, wouldn’t know this.

i liked when cas was a mean bitch to sam way back in season five. they dropped that baaaasically for exclusively no homo reasons, pretty much entirely so that cas could say “the winchesters” whenever he meant “dean” in 6x20 so it would seem less gay. i think cas should have stayed a mean bitch to sam until crazy!cas, at which point they slowly develop into a friendship which is like. predicated on cas feeling guilty about breaking sam’s wall in 6x22, so he suddenly tries to be nice, and sam, who always liked cas, is like hey! cas finally likes me! and then cas is like wait sam isn’t so bad and they get on like a house on fire when they hang out, even though eighty percent of their conversations are just about the trials and tribulations of being one of dean winchester’s nearest and dearest. also that one post about sam doing a shot of angel blood to see what would happen is one of the posts from the 2020 spnnaissance that lives in my head rent free. like eighty percent of their one on one conversations are about dean and the other twenty percent are insane shit like that. i think sam would get on best with cas when he’s being a weird little freak. i think that would relax sam
