Synopsis:

❝Marco Castillo was never supposed to find out the truth. But then he did, and now he's on the run. Problem is, the truth has fangs and it won't stop until it hunts him down.❞

The Park Rangers of Whispering Pines are no strangers to disaster. Campers falling from fenced off cliffs, hikers being mistaken for deer by trespassing hunters, people vanishing into thin air; it's as if tragedy haunts those who dare to tread on Trail 309.

The accidents, deemed unfortunate but unpreventable, meant there was nothing the rangers could do to prevent further victims. Signs did little, and warnings did even less. In the end it took the disappearance of a child for the town's Board to finally take action. The trail was closed, pending the investigation that never came, for the case that was never solved. For a body never found.

It's been forty years since the last disappearance. And now, on the anniversary of the worst tragedy of Trail 309, a young boy has been reported missing. Ranger Marco Castillo, hoping to prevent another tragedy, goes against orders and tries to track down the missing boy himself. But as he is about to find out, it's not just tragedy that lurks in the woods of Trail 309.

Jack Bennet: A mechanic far too tired to deal with so much shit, but far too loyal to stop

Cliff Brooks: A trucker who loves his wife and friends more than life itself, but feels useless.

Brie Brooks: Veterinarian and cancer survivor. Will kick your ass then give you a bandaid

I know it's spoilers but PLEASE tell me that Trail Three o Nine isn't going to kill off lgbt characters. I'm SO tired of that. I want to actually like your book

I cant say anything without giving away the story, but I can say that I try to avoid anything like the bury your gays trope. Anyone who may or may not die will die for a reason. People die in Horror.

He was living on the streets when he overheard the ACTUAL journalist watching Lizbert’s flim, and given he had nothing better going on Gribble yoinked some of the journalist’s clothes from the clothesline and…well, he stole his ID too and then his flyingboat. Yeah, needless to say he’s not planning on going back to the mainland anytime soon. If ever. This ole grump isnt sure what he’s gotten himself into, but he’s glad for the adventure, and sudden food surplus.
